Wolves have completed the signing of centre-back Ronald Zubar from Marseille, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the defence has been bolstered ahead of the pre-season tour.
Of course we need to see the guy play before we can make any judgments, but his pedigree is certainly up to scratch. He’s played in the Champions League the last two years, had interest from other Premiership clubs and been heavily scouted by Ian ‘Taff’ Evans, who we know has a good eye.

Even more news filtering through is that Neill Collins has been omitted from the tour down under, so could it be that he’s on his way out? I really can’t see him figuring at all now that we’ve got Zubar in and Jody signed up for another year, as well as Stearman and Berra ahead of him in the pecking order. With Balde also a potential signing, it’s likely he’ll make way I’d imagine. If he does go, I feel he is owed a certain debt of gratitude by the fans. Sure he made a lot of mistakes, costly mistakes at times, but he always tried hard and wanted to do well for the club. He also won us a fair few games with towering headers, so let’s not just remember the blunders.
All round though, it’s interesting developments and concludes the most frantic week of transfer activity I can remember in all my time as a Wolves fan.

If a player’s ability were determined on how hard they tried, old Neil would be a World beater, I’ve spent the entire season defending him and Keogh, which is a thankless task at times, I’m thinking an own goal and an open goal miss respectively but they’re players that I hope we won’t get rid of after one season in the Premiership, because, let’s be honest if we go down, they’re the kind of player we’ll need and who’ll be loyal enough to stay, players like Zubar/Milijas if they do well for one season will do a Camara and chuff off with pound signs over their eyes.
