Jamie O’Hara’s comments in the aftermath of the Newcastle game seriously got under my skin, but not for the reason you might expect.
Defending a team mate is fair enough, although I think he, like so many others, misconstrued the nature of the sarcastic cheers that echoed around Molineux on Saturday as Karl Henry left the field.

What irritated me was this line:
“When they (the crowd) got behind us we were good and created chances, come on wolves fans we need your support every game it doesn’t do anyone any good booing us.”
For starters, the first part of that sentence is backwards.
The team didn’t create chances because the crowd ‘got behind them’, the crowd got behind them because they created chances.
It’s always the action on the field that sets the tone.
Players and supporters then gain encouragement from one another. That’s the way it has and always will be.
So if the team wilt and concede soft goals in the manner they did on Saturday, frustration in the stands is always like to rear it’s head.
And to make matters worse, it was only a fortnight earlier that we were served up the same humiliating scenario – 2-0 down at half-time to QPR.
Surely the players understand this?
So whilst it’s all very well condemning the boo-boys, their response is valid.
And more over, why do you think they boo?
It’s because they care, it’s because they’re passionate, it’s because they’ve paid exorbitant sums of money to see the team they love and are angered, not because Wolves are losing, but because of the manner in which they’re losing.
They live for it and so naturally, frustration can overwhelm.
We’re all human after all.
In my opinion, anyone, particularly players, questioning whether these are ‘real fans’ needs to wind their neck in.
You have no right.

It is a annoying to think of the players and manager all sitting in that dressing room feeling sorry for themselves because of their treatment at the hands of the idiot fans.
Human nature I guess, but perhaps they should take a bit more responsibility.
Only a matter of time before ‘the Molineux factor’ is wheeled out again. Mick McCarthy’s disdain of Wolves fans is very thinly veiled. The truth is that aside from Eastwood, and probably Ward, there is very little the fans have actually got wrong IMO.
Anyone booing the team might just as well be cheering for the opposition – put yourself in the away team’s place and imagine what a massive boost that must be.
You do have the right to show support in any way you choose. It’d just be so much better to show support for the Wolves at the Molineux, and if you feel that you are entitlied to anything because you paid for it then go watch it on Sky, I’m sure they have a customer services line you can call when you have a problem with how badly the team is playing – see how far that gets you.
I cheered when Henry was taken off. I found it so difficult to get behind the lads and support them for two reasons, firstly we were 2-0 down and playing badly, and secondly I knew we had players on the bench which could potentially rescue us. And it’s been the same for the last few matches.
Football is about emotions, I’ll cheer when we score, I’ll swear when we concede, I’m not going to sit on my hands while Mick stays stubborn with players who aren’t performing.
Mick needs to understand that the fans do want wolves to win and we expect every player to try their best. If they do then we’ll be right behind them, no matter what the score. But when they don’t even look like they’re bothered and playing sloppy passes, not chasing back, not closing down, Mick has to realise we’ll be pissed off.
It’s down to him to get the players motivated, use the boos as ammunition. If they found it humiliating they need to make sure it doesn’t happen again!
carrot or stick then?
Personally I’m a carrot and you, the stick. If you read any book on sports psychology, in fact any on psychology, I think you will find that the carrot is much more productive. That’s why the ‘happy-carrots’ say, what gd does booing do?
Footballers are inherently vain, its why they’ve succeeded, motivated to work harder to please first their father, then their coaches, then the fans. Modern day Gladiators. With vanity comes the fragile ego. Us beating Karl Henry or any player (who isn’t tough eg Ward or stubborn like MM) with the boo-stick isn’t going to do his confidence any good.
You have the right, but so do they and the likes of me, in booing you.
booooooo
I’m taking that boooooo on the chin, I realise my performance hasn’t been good enough… I MUST DO BETTER! Come on you sticks!
If three years’ diet of carrots only gets us to three relegation scraps (perhaps this time ultimately ending in the drop), then I’ll vote for being a stick once in a while. Sometimes things just have to change. Otherwise, really, just how much directionless, idea-free lack of quality can you wholeheartedly applaud and cheer? Enjoy your carrot-cake and boo me at your leisure.
That’s exactly the point, you undo all the hard work and internal suffering of dangling that carrot come what may. Definition of support. The stick only makes YOU feel better.
Nah. You’ve got the wrong sporting psychology books on your shelf. Oh yes, the carrot is more productive usually for sure, but not monotonously always. Sometimes a kick up the backside is what’s required. Or a jolting reality check. Or the knowledge that the 25,000 fans who are paying 40 quid to see you want more (much more). How to get such a message across? Well, of course it’s better that the manager be the one to apply the hairdryer, but alas it seems our manager has lost the plot generally. The wielding of the stick falls to the fans.
The trouble with the “vain, fragile egos” of these well-salaried “Modern Day Gladiators” is that they quickly get into a bubble; a comfort zone. A stick, just once every so often mind, can be the wake-up call they need. Whether he feels better or not for the humbling experience on Saturday, I’ll bet Jamie O’Hara and of course Karl Henry put in a bigger shift in the next game so as to avoid the boos (and, by Christ, they need to).
remind me what Karl Henry did wrong again. MOTM against Liverpool, 3rd in the most yards run in the Premier League this season, a trier, a Wolves lad.
Yes he’s limited, he might not be good enough, but what did HE do wrong? I don’t agree with the it was aimed at MM bullshit when half of those comments are followed by bashing the player comments.
save it for after the game, in the forums, on the radio call-ins.
Much rather he had been really inconspicuous, and we had won all four, not lost them.
If he runs that much, why doesn’t he tackle more often?
They all try, but they are not all good enough.
The only statistic that means anything at the end of the season is number of points on the board.
If we don’t have enough, down we go.
FOMM
I think were in 14th right now aren’t we??
Would that be a successful season if finsih 14th come May?
Definitely, IMO
The main issue I have with Henry is that he’s taking the place of players who can do a better job. He can run around all he likes but I believe Gued will work just as hard in tracking back but also gives us momentum going forwards. Yes his job is to protect the back 4 but it is also to initiate attacks, to help out his team mates going forward and he doesn’t do this. He’s a great player to have in a 5 man midfield but not as a 4.
Still think a good kick up the arse is better than a carrot, If i was earning
the money they are they can boo me every week.
” Misquote”Not earning ,taking the money.
I think you have a point. However I simply cannot condone booing our former captain and servant of 5 years of the park in such a humiliating fashion, a player who has given blood sweat and tears, a player who gives 100% every game, one of our own, from Wolverhampton the treatment he received on Saturday. And as a player it must be disheartening to see a team-mate get treated like that,I’m pleased with what Jamie said, it shows team unity, togetherness, the bottom line is that despite the lack lustre performance 1st half, I don’t think anyone can argue the players do give it their all, and that’s there job, and ours is to support them, through thick and thin.
So quick are people to forget the days of players turning up to Molinuex to collect a fat pay check from a overly generous Sir Jack Hayward, not playing for the passion or the gold and black, to quick are people to forget when Hoddle deflated our beloved club into mid-table obscurity. Do you remember whereas were when MM took on the Wolves job? And Karl Henry has been there every step of the way, he was he last person to deserve that kind of treatment. Especially since as he’s already lost the armband to Johnson… He’s only here because he didn’t want to move from his 5 bedroom sit in Birmingham, and he’d be gone tomorrow if our premier league status was (and understandably so) let’s not forget which side our breads buttered. We can’t become an established premier league side over night, especially with our budget, until then we are in it together, chairmen, manager, players, supporters… A football club.
And for what it’s worth id play Henry at the Hawthornes, he does a very affective job away from home.
UTW
Completely agree with you.
However, I think both the boo brigade and O’hara have got something in common they should both shut up and get on with doing whats best for the club.
Booing a player or team during a game has never and will never bring about a better performance. But neither has a player or manager slamming a section of fans for not getting behind the team ever endeared said player or manager to that section of fans (see, Dave Jones, Glen Hoddle and Mick McCarthy on the Molineux affect!).
Don’t bame Henry, he can’t help it,It’s McIdiots fault for picking him.and thats the Big problem at the mol.
Nor can we reach the heights we aspire to with the limitations that players like Karl Henry now impose on our side.
Loyalty is laudable, but I prefer ambition at my club…
Completely agree, Thomas. I think my comments about Jamie on Twitter in the previous post might have been missed, but it basically makes the same point albeit less articulately. Did anyone else see the article on the E&S website about the sarcastic cheering which basically slated the fans and cried a tear for Henry? Must have been written by his agent because i’ve never seen anyone get so teary eyed over a player before.
I saw it and asked if he was the Public Relations Officer for Molineux.
Sadly, I think this debate will run and run as I don’t see anything changing soon, even the B’ham cast off McFadden has rejected us after using our training facilities for two weeks off to the cream of the Premier League Sunderland by all accounts!
An observation illustrated as good as any by this Blog, we are lucky enough to live in a democracy where freedom of speech is both allowed and encouraged. I actually had O’Hara to be subbed on Saturday ahead of Henry as at least Henry was playing to his ability unlike O’Hara who was sluggish, careless and mostly aimless we all know he can do better.
Personally, I don’t mind O’Hara Tweeting (although it really is counter productive for him) I do seem to recall a certain MM saying he would discipline any player who tweets so I await that development with interest!
What the players seem to forget is that everyone in the stands has a choice whether to be there or not (although I think that is finally dawning on the 3 M’s now!) Unlike them we are not paid to be there it is a choice many can ill afford given the current economic prospects. Many come a long way at great additional expense my mate comes to at least 6 home games, you may say that’s not a true fan but he lives in Aberdeen! Two seats along from me the chap comes from Plymouth every home game and I have a 160 mile trip myself. When faced with a single match cost of over £100 how uninspiring does it have to be before you trouser the cash and go and spend it on turning the heating up at home this winter!
Many of us old gits like a moan and you will always be labelled as negative etc but I defy anyone to challenge the fact that in the last 4 games we have:
1. Been anything other than second best to mostly indifferent opposition.
2. Played a poor team selection from what was available.
3. Lacked any real clear strategy.
4. Failed react to opposition tactics (post AV).
5. Clearly lacked a choice of left back, a holding midfielder and a goal scoring forward which was howled at from every roof top in the closed season.
What we do seem to have is a defensive and stubborn management team who are sadly looking a bit lost.
Well said Chippy wolf,I like a lot of the faithful have spent a lot of money
on season tickets, merchandise, but what do they care,we’er just plebs.as long as we keep paying the money, they the three MMM’s don’t give a shite.
I agree with the comments on O’Hara. He needs to improve – his place shouldn’t be guaranteed.
I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the time he has wasted good Wolves possession this season, either through a misplaced pass or wayward shots! Goals and assists please Jamie.
P.S. Can’t agree with point 1 – we were much much better than Newcastle last weekend
To those criticising the Henry treatment, I think you are making the mistake of treating “the fans” as a collective animal rather than a series of individuals…
When I saw Hammill and Guedioura about to come on I turned to my mate and said “I’d love this to be for Henry and Hunt but let’s face it he’ll probably take off Jarvis.”
So when I saw the No.8 on the board I let out a brief “waaaay” out of sheer relief and shock that McCarthy had substituted our defensive midfielder for about the 3rd time in 5 years (?).
I think that’s fair enough. Sounds bad when there’s 20,000 of you though!
I think you’ve got that absolutely right Adam. The cheer when his name was announced was an instant, spontaneous response to something that both pleased and surprised them. As you say, there were thousands feeling excactly the same. I actually thought Henry played better than O’hara but when you need two goals he has to be the one to go.
So poor little Jamie and Karly are upset by a few boos?
Shame on us!
Are they still getting paid, in full?
If I underperformed like they have recently, my pay would be docked.
Are they on performance related earnings?
Guess not.
What has not been stressed in recent blogs is the fact that not only have we lost the last 4 games, but have been 0 – 2 down in all of them.
Not once have we made the opposition fight to come from behind to beat us.
If little Jamie and Karly want cheers from the start, they need to show skill, passion and commitment from the start as well.
Perhaps then we might actually score the first goal.
FOMM
Just checked actually. Henry has been subbed 3 times in the Premier League.
2-0 down vs Blackpool… finished 2-1.
3-1 down vs Blackburn… finished 3-2.
2-0 down vs Newcastle… finished 2-1.
Interesting.
…and in the last game of last season against Blackburn our second goal actually meant another year in the top tier, so Henry did a good job. On the bench!
Probably better not to tell it to MM, though, because he will probably play Henry in the first eleven out of pure stubbornness. 😆
Molineux currently has empty seats because it is a bit of a trial watching Wolves at the moment. We struggle to compete in the key areas of defence and central midfield because three, probably four of the current starting eleven in these areas are not Premiership quality.
We have gone 0-2 down by half-time in the last four matches and responded with only two goals.
I cannot see much changing until team selection and transfer activity addresses these obvious weaknesses, i.e: centre half, right back, left back and centre midfield.
I’m normally in the happy clapper camp but if the club want to serve up the shite they have been and then have a go at the fans for cheering (not booing) a progression in thinking then fuck them.
McCarthy has done SO MUCH good for our club that wholesale criticism of him for its own sake is nothing short of idiotic. But despite that, even the most ardent MM fan will admit that at times his tactical decisions and loyalty to old players are baffling. So when, as Adam B says, 20 odd thousand hard suffering fans let out a brief ‘waay’ at what was proved to be the right decision (and one we all pointed out weeks ago), and we are then told we’re booing players and not getting behind the team, patience wears thin.
We have stayed in this league thanks to resolute defensive performances and fighting for every ball. Why have we stopped doing this over the last month? For me it comes out of complacency, the first XI think their positions are so nailed on they don’t even have to try. It doesn’t take a genius to work out we need to shake things up a bit.
Let’s have Hammil and Guediora on from the start at the poorthawns please.
I’m a MM fan. I agree he deserves great credit, both for what he has achieved and the way he has improved the side with shrewd signings.
He wanted a replacement for Henry this summer, but couldn’t get his man.
He will start Henry at WBA, and Hunt. Probably because it’s the right thing to do.
I’d love to see more of Hammill – for me it’s Jarvis who should make way – shocking performances the last 3 weeks.
O’hara has been the root of many problems, caught in posession, putting team mates under pressure, out of position, to slow, cannot head, not physical enough, too slow, pathetic right foot. get some balls Mick and bring in Miljas, a spell on the bench may help Jamie.
If you had a bad experience or service at a restaurant or hotel, you don`t boo, you just don`t go back. Wolves season ticket holders and fans don`t have that luxury, and there is nothing wrong with booing if MM`s team serves up garbage (again and again). As the blog rightly says, the fans react to what happens or not on the pitch, and after four defeats, one goal scored and seven conceedeed in the last 3 home league games, what exactly does MM and the team expect.
Interesting also that the premier league has quite rightly lost the legal case against matches being shown in pubs. So up yours Moxey, you greedy t**t, the only way to fill the ground week on week, is with a winning team, with better players and tactics, and a manager who is in tune with what is needed in the premiership. Kindly get one. FOMM.
Agree!

Mark G D,
A BIG FOMM
Nobody complained about the crowd reaction when the first half ended Wolves 0-3 Blackburn to a cacophony of boos in the final game of last season. Why should there be complaints now? The football we’re seeing is equally as poor now as it was then.
Jamie O’Hara should enjoy the easy life while he can. He surely will be the subject matter of the boo-boys himself unless he ups his game considerably.
There’s an old fashioned saying that rings true in this situation “If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.”
There’s a very simple way of getting the boo boys to be quiet:
1. look like you are interested
2. Be competeitive
3. Win a bloody game
If you can’t then expect the backlash of the paying public.
Arrogant overpaid prima-donnas who have lost touch with reality.
I’ve booed most Saturdays during the past three seasons….. on the way up to bed after another disappointing result.Boohoo, boohoo!
Don’t expect O’hara gives a shit about that though.
Henrys turn at present. Hope he is as head strong as Ward who went through the boo boy phase. The problem lies not with Mick, but the club salary structure and not investing in a good defensive midfielder to fight for that position. Blame Morgan, blame Moxey. Mick out – who would have been better for the money he has spent. Support the team, no booing, or you might as well be an away fan, if not worse.
When I’ve travelled from Yorkshire for every game, I’ll complain if I want to.
Let’s be honest’ do we think Miick or anyone reads these comments here or elsewhere? No, of course not. Our boos are the only way to show Mick our displeasure at the team choices and performance. I hope the boos and cheers show him we want Guedioura and Hammill, not Henry.
…and thank God Mick doesn’t read half these comments. The amount of vitriol directed by Wolves fans at the manager who has taken us up and kept us there, the owner who’s ensured our financial sustainability and overseen the stadium redevelopment, and the former captain who’s ability may be limited but commitment never in question is ludicrous.
Of course it aint all rosy. As a season ticket holder I’ve left the last 3 league games completely gutted. But a bit of perspective please. Last season Ward was the anti-christ and there was no alternative to relegation if Mick stayed in charge. Seems to have all turned out rather differently though.
By that logic, Waggy, Parkin, The Doog, Bully and a million others should still be in the team!!!!
We all want progress for our club, and progress sometimes means changes are necessary.
We all know how much we owe to MM for what he has done, but at the same time we all know, even though some will not admit it, that he has reached his limits.
He is not good enough on many levels to take us any further.
The fans know it, he knows it and the owner more than likely knows it.
And, much more to the point, the players obviously know it as well, since their on pitch performances have dropped drastically.
They must get feedback from friends, family etc, and that gets into the dressing room, and bingo, no faith in management, just go through the motions, hence our current plight.
Having said that, I believe the squad is strong enough to compete, but we need a new manager in to see things differently, and shake ’em all up.
And get rid of Ward.
FOMM
He might learn something about his players and tactics if he did…
…51% good decisions doesn’t make you a great manager – it makes you an average one
I do agree that booing players on the field achieves nothing, and as such, I cannot condone it. It just demoralises the players further, and if things aren’t going well, it will only make things worse.
ON THE OTHER HAND! I can certainly understand why some fans are driven to it. Everyone is frustrated out of their minds at the stubborness and patronizing drivel we get dished out repeatedly, and I honestly think nobody knows how else to get the point home that we are sick of it and expect better!
Week in, week out, we see Henry and Stearman play, both of whom are solid Championship players at best, making the same mistakes, creating nothing, and nobody listening to the feedback for change! There are class internationals on the bench in Guideora, Milijas, Foley, and yet MM keeps playing Henry and Stearman 🙂 OK, he is in charge, but then be man enough to blame yourself for results rather than the fans! But apparently when he picks teams who lose several games on the trot, and we speak up, we’re numpties. We’re patronised with excuses and how they’ll make it right next time, but how will that happen Mr MM when YOU KEEP PICKING THE SAME TEAM? And then you insult us even further when you even say you don’t care what we say.
And then we wonder why people boo? They want to be heard! We want results! Not just the odd, fluke win here and there when other teams are off form! Consistent results!
Sorry Mr O’Hara, much as we appreciate your services to the club, YOU HAVEN’T BEEN HERE LONG ENOUGH TO CRITICISE AND PATRONISE THE FANS! An apology is in order … we actually PAY YOUR WAGES through gate money, so show some respect!
I don’t understand this “please get behind us so we can play well” schoolgirl pep-talk requirement. Be MEN! You are very highly paid to be professionals and deliver the results on the field. What else do you need? Do that, and you will be gods at the club.
Finally, I honestly think this club has gone as far as it will go under MM. He may be the best we can get, and this may be as far as we can expect to get. Fair enough. But if Wolves want to take it to the next level, they need to bring in people who can work with class and creativity … where is Martin O’Neil?
I see Ben has been hiding away while his mate Henry gets some stick. Mmmmmm.
Out you come mate!
Regarding the sarcastic (or not as the case may be) cheers it’s a shame really.
A shame that its been been the main talking point rather than us being shit.
A shame Mick is so stubborn that he won’t now play the players the fans want despite it clearly working, albeit for less than 45 mins.
A shame because it’s gives the hierarchy another reason in their minds to paint us all as neanderthals.
Anyone who sarcastically cheered should be ashamed of themselves. You have (well I hope so anyway) gone in to support your team, I don’t care how much money you’ve spent, bloody support your team!
Jamie is spot on with what he says. Wolves fans are probably the most fickle fans around. The team have to get the fans going? What, so we have to be winning or playing well for the crowd to get behind the lads?
I remember watching our 3-1 win against West Brom and being annoyed before the game had even started. Before the game the camera showed Wolves fans with our arms crossed pretty much saying ‘go on, prove us wrong’.
On Henry, the worst thing about it is that Henry hadn’t even had a bad game! Unfortunately, he’s just an easy target. Like Ward was, but the morons who moan(ed) about him constantly can’t right now because he’s been our best player this season and genuinely looks like a Premier League left back.
Louie there is a distinction between supporting Wolves and supporting the manager, chairman and chief executive.
You seem to be wear blinkers believing that the set up is fine.
To others, Wolves supporters, the ‘set up’ is not to improve Wolves but to line their pockets.
Results suggest this is the case and also the form of players.
Have some discernment, before blindly asking us, to follower losers!
If you think supporting a team is just about winning, you are supporting the wrong team. That may come across wrong but what I mean is that as a club who is still relatively new to the Premier League, we aren’t going to win all the time. Even as a mid table team, we will lose games. Of course, I hate to see us lose and feel just as bad as anyone after but this is a bloody tough league and we have to recgn
Our manager, chief exec and chairman. Promotion to the best league in the world, three consecutive seasons in it and more to come. But what do they know?
The set up, is exactly how it should be. Lining their pockets, Morgan is putting a lot of money into this club to improve us year on year. we are steadily improving, our team, the club and now the stadium. We will benefit from being patient, we jsut needs the fans to get on board too.
Louie, I totally disagree with Robin about your blinkers.
I think you are 100% blindfolded, and being spoon fed by moxey, mcidiot and morgan.
We are not steadily improving, we are no better than 3 years ago when we started in the prem.
He is pouring money into the stadium to keep his company busy and for tax purposes….did we need to redevelop a 20 year old stadium, increase the capacity when we can’t fill the one we’ve got?
All the money from Sky and The Premier League and other football revenue streams is being diverted into the stadium fund, morgan isn’t paying out of his own pocket, and then when it’s done, he’ll sell up and make a friggin’ fortune.
Meanwhile, us poor saps of supporters will be left bemoaning our crap manager and players, coz funds for team improvement have been squirreled away for the stadium and for fat moxey and his car collection.
Get real Louie, take off yor rose colored bandana, and see the world objectively.
FOMM
Mcidiot, now thats just harsh. See the world objectively – you mean in the sense of wolves being organised as a business, which is how we are being run.
From a fellow poor sap.
Are you McCarthy’s son in disguise?
What utter drivel, “do we have to be playing well to get the fans going?”
No Louie, we love to see the lads play shit and lose, it’s what we live for, every week, can’t wait to see us get turned over….again!!!
We show our displeasure because we love our club, love the history and the sense of being part of it, and we get royally pissed off when the players appear to have no pride in the club, and the manager doesnt give a shit about the club or us.
So yes, we are going to voice our concerns in the only way that the idiots will listen to, on match day, at The Mol.
Let’s face it, no one associated with the players or the management will ever take the time to read our, or any other, fans blog, will they?
And also, Ward will never be any good, it’s because the rest of the team are playing crap that makes him appear good, but wait until we play someone with a pacy winger, then watch Ward’s blood twist!!!
FOMM
If I remember rightly the two kids from spurs Bale and Lennon have got some pace and aren’t short on skills and Wardy did alright against them.
Come on give Ward his due he has improved no end this season and is looking solid and dependable, unfortunately the rest of the defense and midfield are shaky now.
Remind me of the score from that match?
We lost, didn’t we?
So he obviously did not do alright enough.
Just because he has improved from last season shows how shit he was then, coz he’s still crap!!!
Oh come on neither of the goals we conceded came from wards left back slot. He can’t win the game on his own.
I was as big a critic of his as everyone else last season, but the guy has obviously worked hard on his positioning, movement and tackling over the summer and is looking a decent left back now. Our biggest problems lay in elsewhere in the back line and in lack of decent cover (as Much as i like big George he doesn’t make the grade) for left back should Ward or one of our strikers get injured.
Our biggest PROBLEM Is by far McIdiot,Oh forgot the FAT CONTROLER Too.
Louie, we haven’t been protesting in the way Everton and Blackburn fans have – put things into context.
We’ve gone back to conceeding cheap goals the past few games – we didn’t turn up to the QPR and Liverpool (until the 2nd half).
We have quality midfield players who aren’t getting a look in at present – it needs to change. Milijas not being in the side is shocking.
Henry had an average first half and he was RESPONSIBLE for the 2nd goal against Newcastle – selling a team-mate short again on a pass, which was intercepted, taking 3 of our players out of the game because of where it happened and 3 points away from our PL tally!
Well done Thomas, you’ve really got the blogger’s going tonight mate, really
really enjoyed reading them all tonight,Pitty the three M’s don’t take the time, they may learn something i don’t think so….
Thanks mate. 🙂
If you blame anyone blame Moxey and Morgan. They are guilty of running Wolves as a business so we do not end up like Leeds, Portsmouth and Birmingham.
To boo or not to boo, that is the question. You can argue either way really. I don’t know the answer.
What i do know is i would never tell a season ticket holder or anyone who regularly pays to watch home or away how they should behave. Particularly in these difficult financial times when a lot of these supporters are struggling generally.’I don’t care how much money you’ve spent, bloody support your team!’ Nice one Louie.
I only go occasionally because it’s a long way to travel and with petrol etc it’s an expensive choice. I’m entitled to my views, but ST holders views are tops as far as i’m concerned.
I’m here! I could have cried myself when Karl came off. I think everyone knows my thoughts on him, and I don’t thinkn there’s a fan out there who loves the bloke more than I. My hero!
For me though, I can completely understand the fans’ reaction which, due to a number of mitigating factors, has been misinterpreted.
1. Mick stubborness / team selections
2. Moxey refusing to acknowledge his prices need a check, rather blame pubs
3. Moxey and Morgan refusing to improve team quality, thus 2 relegation battles and a third looming.
Was it boos for the manager, cheers for the fact he’s finally made the changes, or an eruption / outpouring of emotion from supoprters who feel like pulling their hair out? Or just abusing Henry?
Contrary to a blog on the E & S, I don’t think there’s a definite answer to that.
One thing is for sure though, Karl Henry is feeling inconsolable right now. And no matter how marginalised we all feel as fans, that isn’t right!
I’m very much a fence sitter when it comes to Henry.
The two main arguments-
1- That he does loads of work that some fans don’t appreciate and is really good. This is normally accompanied by a degree of smugness as if you have to be a master tactitian to appreciate him.
2- He only passes the ball sideways, is too negative and overall not a good enough player.
I’m firmly in the middle tbf. There are loads of occassions when a player steams through from midfield and i think to myslelf “Where is Karl ?”.
However equally he has spells when he’s looked class. I remember Adam B doing a piece about him a while back and i think he misplaced a total of about 3 passes in 3 games!
I think the issue a lot have is not with Henry himself but more what he represents, ie- Micks stubborness, and thus he was on the receiving end.
Stop giving the ball away Karl in positions where it hurts us. Be more positive in your play. Get back to tackling and winning the ball. 4-4-2, no passengers please!
Simple as that.
P.S. 4 defeats on the bounce – I’m inconsolable!
O’Hara should shut his mouth and concentrate on getting his form back to where it was before we signed him. You’ve only been here 5 mins mate, so keep your views on Wolves fans to yourself. You haven’t exactly been pulling up trees this season either.
Maybe he has too much going on in his personal life to hit best form (given the circumstances of his premature baby I can understand how difficult it must be). If this is the case Mick should drop him and put Milijas in for a few games.
Fans pay vast amounts of money to attend games to pay your wages. No wonder more and more are just going to the pub to watch the game for a fraction of the cost and put money into the local community rather than in the pocket of players now totally disconnected from the average working man.
Moxey has said the ground redevelopment might be put on hold due to the TV rights. Maybe if Muppet Micks team gave the fans something worth watching the missing 2,500 might return? Maybe if the prices were reduced some of the 2,500 might return? Maybe some of the 2,500 decided not to bother returning after seeing us spend a pittance in the transfer window?
I cheered at the change over, because Mick had found the guts to make the changes. He needs to see outside his little box a bit more and play players correctly.
Have you seen Moxeys latest! The pubs are stealing the 2500 fans missing from match days and because of it we might not rebuild the Steve Bull!
Get real–in which pubs did we cram 2500 fans! I bet it was hell of a queue to get a pint!
Now if we bought in some class say a player for 10m or so ,
a couple at 5-7 m played the players in correct roles and used subs correctly maybe we might start winning again and fill the ground.
If Moxey’s so worried about the so called 2,500 and the revenue, why does’nt
he give up his extortionate takings and help with the housekeeping,
And where does he think these so called 2,500 can afford to go to the pub
instead of the mol,Get your self into the real world if you can get yourself out to see WE are still in a recession with depression watching the pedestrian football lately..
First O hara now Johnson. If wolves fan want to demotivate the team just keep up the good work. You will notice a drop in form from these two who will not be as mentally focused as they could be due to our own fans.
