As many people pointed out post-Burnley, we should expect inconsistent performances.
There’s been so much change to the team, it’s fanciful to think we’ll get the same reliability we’ve seen in recent years from a stable group.

Even so, everything was wrong at Turf Moor.
I didn’t like the team selection, the tactics and subsequently how we allowed Burnley to enforce their game on us.
We’re now starting down the barrel of two tough-looking festive fixtures where consecutive defeats are a real possibility.

Spurs
For a fleeting moment, it looked like Jose might be guiding his side towards a legitimate title challenge. Now they’re just about clinging onto the top six.
One win in their last five and back-to-back defeats against Liverpool and Leicester have put the pressure on to get a result here and anything less could see them dragged back towards the midtable scrum.
I’d be surprised if they weren’t at the very least pushing hard for the top four come the end of the season, but the same could be said for several other teams, so nothing is guaranteed.

Given that nearly all of their goals are scored by Kane and Son the immediate threat is obvious. Stopping it is not so straightforward.
Much like Wolves in recent years, they’ve achieved good results by getting men behind the ball and breaking at pace.
Leicester gave them a taste of their own medicine last weekend though in what must have felt like a really sobering defeat.
Wolves
We lacked experience and any sort of attacking focal point against Burnley. I hope we have the personnel to change that this time.

If Boly and Marcal were fit enough to be on the bench at Turf Moor then hopefully they can start this one.
Having that experience in defence and midfield gives the others the platform to produce a performance.
When Fabio came on he showed exactly why he should have started in the first place – devilment in the penalty area.
Otasowie, Kilman and Ait-Nouri have all played their part in important victories but I just don’t see how throwing them all into the same team and expecting a high standard Premier League performance is realistic.
Last time out
Wolves came from behind twice to win 3-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium with Raul Jimenez getting the winner in one of the better performances last season.

Spurs had earlier in the season won 2-1 in Molineux in what it would be fair to describe as a smash-and-grab victory.
Predictions
Nobody predicted a 2-1 defeat to Burnley.
In the overall table at the end of Gameweek 14, Liz and MILDENHALL Wolf are still top of the standings.
As always if you’d like to join in, simply leave your prediction for this game in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

First of all, Merry Christmas to all you lovely bloggers.
As I’m feeling festive, I’ll back us to get a point. But that’s only if we field a more experienced side. We need a streetwise performance or I fear Spurs will wipe the floor with us.
There’s enough in this team to create chances and keep the back door shut, we just need it to all come together.
What about us not so lovely bloggers?
Yes, merry Christmas to you and Clive.
I think this is optimistic regretfully
Tough game. Son and kane looking world class atm.
I would back your team, Thomas to run them close. Marcel is a shoo-in until Jonny returns and the Burnley game told us we must play our most experienced players if we are to realistically compete. If the squad is fit, I think all have represented their countries so ability should not be an issue? Mourinho has picked a strong team tonight and after the recent indifferent league form is looking for some security in a cup run. Hopefully no more aberrations from Nuno re selection and we may scrape a draw. Adama to come on and save a point with a solo effort.
First, a question…
After Nuno’s rant, what happens the next time Lee Mason is down to referee one of our matches?
It will surely put him in an impossible situation. Damned if he gives any decisions against us. Damned by our opponents if he doesn’t.
Does that mean that, as long as Nuno is Wolves’ manager, he will never get to referee us again?
If that’s the case, I’d like to send Nuno a very special Christmas message.
“Dear Nuno. Can you please have another of your rants. This time about Mike Dean? Thanks very much. Wishing you and your family – and your team – a very Merry Christmas.
Lots of love from Mark and Sue”.
And while I’m at it, I sincerely hope that every man, woman and child (Clive), who has contributed to this blog over the last God awful few months, has the Christmas that we all, as Wolves supporters, deserve.
Special seasonal wishes to Thomas and the two Bens.
I’m predicting a draw.
It will be interesting to hear what Nuno’s punishment will be but, to my mind, I can’t see any justification for his rant at this particular official after this particular game because we lost as a result of poor play against a better team on the day. The defeat was nothing to do with poor officiating.
First, it was not a ‘rant’. He spoke calmly and reasonably, and said that he felt obliged to give his opinion on the refs ability. I don’t think he was blaming the ref for our loss, really, but he was fed up with his officious officiating.
Could it possibly be that Nuno and his players are constantly sick and tired of being on the end of a never ending succession of dog shit decisions that continue to go against us? Either by referees, VAR or both. If so well done Nuno. Let’s have some more of it.
And while I am ranting on. Would that penalty have been given to us in injury time the other night if it had been 0-0. I very much doubt it.
You beat me to it. What Nuno said has been widely reported and mostly taken as an untimely exhibition of sour grapes at the defeat. Those who watched the interview rather than read the words will have seen a Nuno uncharacteristically downbeat at the start and, at the end, very clearly being conflicted about whether to say what he did, and ultimately deciding he had to. This is entirely in line with his stated intention of apologising for the timing which, as he suspected, has been the cause of misinterpretation, but not what he actually said.
So come on you bloggers, let’s get behind our man who, for me, probably remains one of the most honest managers inthe prem and also seems to be one of the most decent human beings in that job.
Happy Cristmas Nuno and all bloggers.
COYW
We are more than capable of giving spurs a good game and barring nuno having another brain storm i think we will.
This more than burnley is a game for experience and nous and playing the way we know best.
We have to hit them on the break and i still believe adama should start and play down the middle as he is wasted out wide without raul to aim for.
Fabio will be gobbled up by the spurs defence and is not an option in my eyes.
Lets hope nuno plays a straight hand in our next two games as this is no time for f#####g about !!
Play it how we know it nuno save your daft experiments for the practice pitch !
Yet another if the crowd appalled at the Nuno ‘experiment’ against Burnley.
Not playing Boly and Donk (even though they were not 100% fit) playing Kilman and Otasowie in their absence and not playing a recognised centre forward.
Oh and the real bug bear, (the decision that list the game) playing Air Nouri instead of Marçal.
“Why are Boly and Donk on the bench if not fit?” Because half fit they can cover bet than a kid.
You slag off Nuno but you still don’t want Fabio to start. Where are these six other battle hardened experienced competent players you would have bought in – oh yes, just Marçal.
How many people have said, my heart sank when I saw the time announced for Burnley. “Don’t change a winning team”. The result against Chelsea was a 15 minute turnaround from a losing situation. Other than accomodating the Boly and Donk injuries the real change was starting without Fabio and Marçal. Fabio would have got as battered as Otasowie by the filthy Lancashire Kray brothers at centre back and Nuno thought Sit Nouri would give more support to our forwards.
The squad is not massive, injuries are hurting. Get s grip.
Can I have some of what you are on?
2-1. Wolves winning with a late goal by Corbeanu.
OH ! and a very merry christmas to all like minded wolves blog folk who through thick & thin and differing opinions are still here and all hoping for the same thing …
US TO STUFF THE ALBION 25-0
MERRY CHRISTMAS LOOK AFTER YOURSELVES KEEP THE FAITH XXX
MR & MRS SPIKEYBOY
No one was more Bah Humbug than I after the Burnley farce.
So I need to get back into my positive zone and in the festive spirit.
I quite expect this team of ours to perform well against Spurs, so unbelievably going for a win.
Wolves 2
Spurs 1
Desejo aos meus familiares e amigos (on this great blog) um Feliz Natal.
I wish my family and friends on this great blog, a Merry Christmas.
Oops
Marvellous, that Google translate, innit.
And the fact I worked in Portugal for about 5 years teaching doctors and nurses over there. 🙂
Then I stand corrected Stu. Well done Cap’n.
Last year, I spent a great deal of time visiting the hospital at Portimao.
My daughter lives in Silves and is Chair of Algarve Wolves.
Portimao was my first ever visit then a course in Portugal. I loved the experience. Later a few years on, I presented a lecture on Paramedic Science at a NATO conference. Happy memories.
I see the picture of Waggy.
Do you remember 26 December 1964?
Kendalwolf
I would be lying if I said I remembered that. (Had to google it)
I started supporting Wolves sept 1961 and was 12 years old on that day in 64, so remembering that particular game, no sorry.
My Avatar is borne out of adoration for the magician that was Waggy. So much so, on a visit to the museum I came upon the archive film and shed a tear watching him turn the Arsenal players in circles in the snow.
Well, it was the day they signed Waggy!
According to google he played that day against the Villa too.
How times have changed.
That’s correct. What a great Christmas present for Wolves fans.
Molineux was buzzing at the news of his arrival . No social media in those days so it came as a surprise. Steve Gordos writes about his transfer in Waggy’s Tales.
A Happy New Year to one and all!
Bad run to continue.
Yeh, reasonable shout MW, but I fear it might be even worse. Nuno is showing signs of losing it and even Conor is struggling amidst this downturn in form.
With that in mind and mindful of Son and Kane to cope with too, I’m going to tack one further goal on to your own pessimistic forecast. Hope we’re both wrong!
Nice Christmas present from nuno please
I think that this one is almost impossible to predict, as per last season when we gave them the complete runaround only to lose, then we go to their place go behind and come back to win.
Spikey hits the nail on the head when he states that Traore is wasted on the flank when there’s no-one to cross to. In my mind, it’s time to back him and give him a run in the team. Continual chopping and changing does nobody any good.
Hopefully big Wily is fit and Marcal will return to give us more defensive solidity. That will be needed because I can envisage Son, particularly, targeting Semedo.
Fingers crossed for a win.
With both teams the masters of the counter attack this is what will happen. Immediately after the kick off both sides will retreat to the edge of each area leaving the ball marooned on the centre spot. Thus by half time it is 0-0. The same will happen second half and it will be the most boring game of football since Austria and Germany played out a goalless draw in the 1982 Word Cup. UNTIL ……..a freak gust of wind moves the ball 10ft towards the Spurs goalmouth in the 87th minute thus forcing an inexplicable panic and a pent up Adama Traore who is by now able to reach speeds of 398mph from a standing start rushes on to the ball from the edge of his own box and unleashes a 25 yard thunderbolt in off the bar. This securing a 1-0:win to WWFC. Jose Mourinho’s miserable face will now be so miserable it will resemble the clientele queuing up for a Covid 19 test in Smethwick town centre on a Saturday afternoon after another Sandwell Town thrashing. After the game professor Jonathan Van Tham said ” A new mutant form of covid 19 has emerged in Sandwell. It has 6 fingers a club foot and is highly infectious. It is also more miserable than Jose Mourinho. I suggest West Bromwich is put in to a new tier. Tier 27. This means everyone will be locked in the house and a cheese sandwich is posted through the letter box on a daily basis. ” WWFC 1 Spurs 0.
I didn’t think that they had letter boxes over there as I understand that they can’t read.
Pointless comment.
And your point is?
It’s been a crazy mixed up season, typified by our results – winning against established top six sides and losing to relegation candidates. Spurs’ results too have been a mixed bag. They ought to be pushing for a title challenge with the talent in their side but nothing in this Annus Horribilis (or whatever the correct Latin is) seems certain.
Nuno has a habit of getting his team to bounce back, although his out of character rant about Mason makes me worry that he might be starting to lose his grip. Some are starting to question him among the fans, including some on this site, but not yet so many that I think he is worried in that regard. So maybe the Fison big wigs have been on his back a bit recently. I don’t know.
Anyway, despite the topsy turvy nature of the Season I can’t see us giving Spurs too many headaches just at the moment. You never know, we do have talent in the team, but it’s not clicking like it did last season and there’s now a gaping hole up front. So until January at least, I’m predicting an extra portion of ‘Horribilis’.
Happy Christmas from New Zealand everyone, enjoy as best you can under lockdown and stay safe.
We have had some good results in recent times against Spurs but sadly after that pantomime at Burnley I can see nothing in our current form to see us getting anything from this one even at home, the only thing in our favour is that they are a London team and in general we do well against them.
Can we go from our worst performance of the year to end it on a win???????????????
Merry Christmas all just hope we play a lot better than we did against Burnley that was shocking Nuno always plays the same players a great win at Chelsea and he changes 4 just did not understand it back to basics if we want a win.
Has anyone seen Tim Spears article in the Athletic he says Wolves are looking at geting Josh King in from Bournemouth in jan.
Eventually we will sneak a win.
In what alternate universe does it make any sense for Adama to go to Leeds?
I didn’t know that the Beano is published in Canada aswell as over here. Where is this nugget from Tim?
Some foreign report I saw said Leeds want him & Wolves will sell for £5m to get rid. All complete & utter rubbish!
“Some foreign report”
Sounds like a Trump “Someone told me”
There’s no getting away from the fact that we need to bounce back from the defeat at Burnley, but we are against a formidable opponent even though they haven’t won in 5.At the moment we are a bit toothless up front and Spurs have a good defence so it’s going to be tough whatever team Nuno puts out.
In every game a team gets 3 chances to score a goal so if we can capitalise on one of the or more we can get something out of this game.
So UTWFT Vile.
Can’t see anything else but a spurs win sadly. Will have to put up with a smug looking daughters boyfriend.
Surely you can find a Covid reason to ban him?
I think we’ll get tonked worse than you suggest Adrian
I was going to put two write ups on Wolves v Tottenham…
1. Wolves 3 Tottenham 1 February 1962 (Tottenham had achieved the double the previous season and were undoubtedly a fine side, but new signings Chris Crowe and Peter McParland put Danny Blanchflower and co to the sword in a sparkling performance).
2. Wolves v Tottenham- EUFA cup final first leg May 1972.
But after watching that unbelievable rubbish from Turf Moor on Monday evening frankly I just ain’t in the mood. Surely the worst performance under Nuno by a country mile. Could not believe what I was watching.
What on earth is going on at Molineux? Yes we have sold two cornerstones of the previous 3 seasons and not really replaced them with the same quality and yes losing two more cornerstones in Raul and Jonny to injury was a real kick in the knackers but….bloody hell no excuse for that. Burnley were everything we ain’t and fair play to them.
As for Nuno laying into Mason – maybe he is unfit to referee in the top flight but he sure does not have any influence on 11 players wearing the Wolves badge totally incapable of passing a bag of wind accurately over 10 yards.
My Heart as usual says a Wolves win – but for a change the head wins this on Sunday.,
Wolves 0 Tottenham 3.
Can’t score – won’t win. 7 points from 7 games is relegation form.
Add on a Ludicrous transfer window which is now coming home to roost and there you have it. I don’t believe we have really been the same in the transfer market since Dalrymple packed it in to be honest. But that’s just my observation.
Bedfordshire Old Gold
BOG
Been thinking along the same lines about Dalrymple BOG. I don’t think I ever heard a clear explanation for his departure. Thought it might be that he was getting too much credit.
Who knows? It all depends if we turn up and what game plan we bring with us. Not feeling confident.
Hmmmm. Who knows? I mean, who really knows?
I like Thomas’s lineup . I don’t think we have a stronger starting lineup on current form. If Donk’s fit maybe I’d swap him in for Neves which still gives us impact from the bench later on. In an ideal world Silva wouldn’t get a look in just yet but what’s the option? And it’s no use Traore piling crosses in without someone there to get on the end of them.
My prediction run of form is worse than the teams so I’m expecting it to continue.
A Merry Christmas to one and all from sunny (and virtually Covid free )Oz.
I have given up trying to outguess our team’s performances. They seem determined to get the unexpected (by me at least) results. I think it is therefore for the best interest of the club if I predict losses all through the rest of the season and take one for the team.
Merry Xmas fellow bloggers sorry expecting the worse Marcel back with willy and dendonker Adama in the middle let’s get back to basics no where’s that single malt gone
All I want for Christmas is:
1. Me to be able to get a prediction right
2. Us to get at least a point from this game.
Had a horrible feeling that the Burnley game would end up like it did. Feeling more confident for this games as we seem to play better against the more fancied sides.
All the best to you all for Christmas and the holiday season from downunder.
Dendonker.., one of those players that you notice when he isn’t playing eh … still , I think we’ve got enough to take these if we put a serious team out .
Not much to cheer about down here but I’m hoping that Nuno Santa’s will stick a win in my stocking , I’ve been quite good all year .
Merry Christmas to all of you . Thanks for your company and brilliant humour
UTW
With no optimism whatsoever a Wolves win!
PS someone get rid of Samedo pdq.
I’ve got a feeling that he will quietly go out to Spain/Portugal on loan in the summer window. Hoever will be given a proper pre-season and be Jonnys backup at RWB. What we need now is a seasoned CF – dare I say- like Chris Woods- to lead the line and Fabio can learn and feed off until Raul returns.
We usually pull a surprise out of the bag at times and all past woes are vanquished to the trash can. I’m trying to convince myself that the 3 points are staying in the West Midlands. In reality we are still a work in progress outfit and another 7th place would, l think, be a result. Consistency is what we somehow have to summon up, whether that be by our youngsters maturing steadily or by dipping into the transfer market, I’m not quite sure.
A merry Christmas as possible to one and all and a huge thanks to Thomas and the Ben’s for running the blog.
Breaking team news…..
Boly starts in a newly created ‘false no9’ …..
Saiss is named as a false no 10 and Silva drops behind Coady as a false sweepers’ sweeper.
Traore is named right back to counter the threat of Son, with Semedo dropping out and the remaining team sheet slots will drawn on a lucky dip basis…. depending on the ‘Turkey conditioning’ Xmas program set out by Nuno.
Let’s hope that Monday’s toothless and shambolic performance isn’t repeated.
Merry Christmas everyone…
If we play that team above we will lose… Moutinho and Neves in the middle together with no Donk means defeat. The answer? Not a clue ?
Merry Christmas to all fellow bloggers and let’s hope 2021 is kinder to us all. Big thank you to all who blog, musings, rants and subliminal comments too.
Spuds.. As mentioned, who knows. If we turn up on the day we can give it a go. My concern would be our confidence levels must be at breaking point, so much going on that is unlike WWFC of the past 3 years.
I’m convinced we will be up for it and bury the Burnley demons.
Heart says win, head says lose.
Going for my usual 2-1.
Have a good one everybody.
I’m hoping that Nuno really wants to get one over on his old mate Jose and will therefore revert to a more tried and tested recipe. I’m hoping the Burnley debacle was forced on him by injury rather than any expectation that this was the team selection best suited to winning the game. I’m hoping that, apart from the obvious, those injuries are sorted and Willy, Donk and Marcal are raring to go. I’m hoping that Fabio’s goal will have given him the impetus to step up to the next level that I can see he has within him.
I’m hoping we can all return to some degree of ‘normality’ and make a massed return to the ‘Mol’ by the start of next season. The lads need us.
I’m hoping all my fellow bloggers can enjoy the festive season as they would choose and stay safe as we enter what threatens to be a very difficult New Year.
Happy Christmas all.
It’s snowing.
Jammy git.
We will have to wait until tomorrow for it to reach this far South.
Snow flurries on Cannock Chase this morning!
It’s stopped now and the Sun is shining lol. Typical in North Yorkshire. At least we had some, unlike St Kitts Wolf I guess .
What’s that about Nuno?
Aaahhhh. How lovely.
Merry Christmas to all from the sunny Caribbean!
The only consistent thing about Wolves is our inconsistency! Which Wolves will turn up? Both teams will likely set up for playing on the break, which bodes for a cagey boring game. However, an early goal will totally change the dynamics of this game, and I am convinced that whoever scores first will win!
Tarore to start in place of Silva, as we will do more defending than attacking.
Thomas Tuchel has just had the old tin tack from PSG.
Rumour has it,
Nuno to be sacked in the next 24 hrs.
Looks like we will be going all French from now on.
Chinese Christmas.
Chinese Cracker.
Joyeux Noël, Bonne et heureuse année!
He’s German, Stu.
Nuno sacked! Can that be true?
Correct 🙂
Just bored.
Bored? Prepare the stuffing. Prepare the veg. Prepare the Turkey. Get the decanter washed. Get the drinks ready. Sort out the party games (for 2 or online). Check out Boxing Day’s racing. Sort out the schedule for watching around 8 games on Boxing day/Sunday.
Then stick your feet up and have a few pints of Enville Ale out of one of their 9 pint mini barrels.
That’s what I’ll be doing aswell as taking the hounds for a long walk.
Merry Christmas to all bloggers.
Yes, I meant to put “French influence”
HAVE YOU BEEN DRINKING STUART !!!
Wash your mouth out, fancy asking a scot that.
I’ll check my sources.
Tomato?
Brown?
Soy?
Leicester showed how it can be done. Pressed on the halfway line. But knowing how to do it ain’t the same as doing it.
As others have said get back to basics. Which for me means deciding on your best team, and as used to be Nuno’s habit, stick to it injuries allowing.
No longer have a clue what result to expect so sticking to my usual.
Meant to say merry Christmas to all on this blog and many thanks to Thomas, Ben and Ben.
I predicted a draw against Chelsea so the lads took offence & promptly proved me wrong with a win.
So in theory if I do the same again all is well. Whatever happens this year can’t possibly get any worse!
Merry Christmas to all bloggers & hope you all have a great time.
Stay safe everyone.
Last seen in North Yorkshire……
Very tough game as Spurs are on a bit of a poor run so will want to get back to winning ways against us. It’s time to give Fabio a run of games now and to admit Neves and Mourinho is not working any more as a pair but with Dendoncker likely still out will Nuno be brave enough to start Otasowie in there and not in a silly false 9 position.
Despite all this I back us not to lose.
If Nuno is let go, then Wolves can bring Cutrone back. Two birds.. one stone.
I am not seeing anything on social media to indicate that Nuno is possibly being let go.
Nothing more than usual, I should say.
Tim…. calm down stu has hit the bottle a little early .
Can’t you people hold your booze?
By all accounts, Tim, Stu is Scottish so doesn’t really count as “you people “. It’s a bit like you being called a Yank!
Us Black Country folk can hold our ale with anyone.
I’m Scottish Tim, probably half to three quarter of the Canadian gene pool is Scottish.
Don’t try and teach us to suck eggs.
Holding my beer has never been an issue, affording it is the problem.
I’m just going by what spikeboy said.
F**kin hell. 2.20 a pint in the Goose. If it ever opens agen. Typical Scotsman.
A very Merry Texan Christmas to y’all on this wonderful blog.
2021 can only be an improvement on this year, and although I posted this back in March, I think it bears repeating.
Nuno had a dream,
To beat covid 19,
The virus that came all the way from Wuhan,
It gives you a cough,
It makes you feel rough,
We’re Wolverhampton, corona fuck off.
If we ever get back to some semblance of normalcy, it will be a huge boost to our marvelous team, and football in general, to have full grounds again.
I bet even the shit will sell out at least once.
Lots of Houston love and kisses to y’all, stay safe and sober……ish.
We owe Spurs a stuffing, coz they have spawnily won both Molineux meetings thus far in Nuno’s reign, so payback is on the cards this weekend.
Don’t care what team he picks, I will support them to the hilt.
Easy 5-1 victory.
Please note new blog handle, courtesy of Stu and Chalky the Cheat.
A sobering statistic that in our win against Spurs last season our scorers were Raul, Jota and Doherty, which probably sums it up. Difficult one to call, Spurs obviously the favourites but hey it’s Christmas.
wonder if doherty will play on monday ?
Hope so, we’re playing ’em on Sunday!!
Oi Clive. Ay ya gid that Shit fan in the chip shop any grief lately? January 16th is looming on the horizon and it is time to get a few jibes in. F**kin hell . Shit fans in Texas. Cor believe it
Nah
He’s actually a very nice bloke, if you can believe it, and his fish n chips are to fie for, so I ay gunna piss ‘im off!!
Die for
Nah. There are one or two of them at my office. Sound really. Just avoid them like the plague when the match comes round. Stay safe. FWAW!
Die hard….
not if you live in Australia .
Impossible to say what the outcome of each match will be at the present, as Nuno is trying all sorts to get a little consistency. Until we get a couple of front line leaders of some heft, I think we shall continue to be inconsistent, so I may as well go for a two-one win or loss against Spurs. Unfortunately Tottingham are now due a win following the past couple of games, so it looks bleak for someone. At the start of the season I felt that we were making a big mistake with the lack of cover up front, though, to be fair we were trying during the close season to sign some classy guys up front. I like the looks of Fabio, but to expect an eighteen year old to outfox and out muscle Premier League centre backs is wishful thinking. The boy could have been three goals to the better by now with a touch of needed luck. If we can get a couple or more decent signings in January, as in the past ,then the new year may look far rosier; so here’s hoping; come on, Santa.
Merry Christmas to all and sundry…
The result depends on which team will turn up who will be in it and what position they will be as to play in, only Nuno knows.
We need to play to our strengths and go back to what we do best the time to experiment if he wants is when we have 40 plus points on the board at least that way we know we will be safe.
Our record against Spurs at molinuex is pretty dismal in fact someone might be able to tell me the last time we beat them at home.
It would be just like Wolves to win this one……..I cannot see it but we live in hope.
Merry Christmas to one and all and let’s pray we see the back of Covid in the New Year.
10th Feb 2010. 1-0.
Thanks Ped,
I remeber Spurs coming to molinuex about 1979 or. 78 for a Wolves players testimonial the score was 3.3 I was in the Waterloo Road paddock and I got Ricky Villia and Ardilles autograph on a Wolves pendant…….still got it.
Cannot every remeber us beating them.
Well I’m not buying into this spurs being favourites tbh
They have lost their last couple of games , are playing on our muck heap and we are a wounded pack looking for a bit of payback from their last lucky win here .
Surely anyone who wasn’t surprised by us losing at burnley , won’t be surprised when we beat spurs.
Had my early morning dip in the ocean and well into the Chandon so maybe that’s where my optimism is coming from but I’m backing nuno 100 percent, He’s earned it big time as far as I’m concerned.
Come on you wolves
A very Merry Christmas to all you wonderful people. Not the best one ever, but we’re all still here to see it.
Got to be 3/5 at the back for this one. Could Adama be ued to nullify Son, just as we used him to nullify Sterling not so long ago ? Would like to see the Donck back in midfield.
Two teams that prefer to counter-attack does not generally make for an engaging spectacle, so I’ll sit on the fence.
More in hope than expectation Wolves to win just.
Merry Xmas to all bloggers
Going back down memory lane the F.A Cup semi final at Hillsborough in 78 or 79 that was a warning to the authorities they did not heed.
The Lepping Lane end housed the Spurs fans I think and that day nearly ended in disaster as fans spilled over the fence onto the pitch.
Fate and Tragedy returned a few years later as we know.
I still don’t know why to this day we agreed to play the replay at Highbury should have been Villa Park lost 3.1
I remember that replay at highbury. Our coach came back up the m1 with no windows left in it. Loads of trouble outside the ground.
If it’s any karma cheesy.. there were some Spurs fans in a bus stop giving it the..’3-0 to the Tottenham’ .. when a bunch of us, whilst in the traffic jam leaving the ground, jumped out of the transit van we were in and gave them a pasting… finished, jumped back in the van and carried on home..
Never did like Garth Crooks.
Magic…..
Love it twix. Fuckin truly Wolves ay we.
Fabio may be one for the future but he sure is getting paid a lot now.
No wonder Nuno feels he should be playing him.
Semedo is also getting a lot so maybe that is why he is playing a lot, too.
Merry Crinklebeer to all bloggers.
Difficult game Would go for same team as Thomas with exception of the Donk for Moutinho if he’s fit.
See what Santa brought me this morning!
Merry Christmas one and all
It pains me to admit I can’t see where a goal is coming from. Mourinho is turning Spurs into a machine with deadly strikers who pick you off given the slightest encouragement. They will have noted the gaps behind our wing backs which are left uncovered, Doc is perfectly entitled to drop useful information into Jose’s team talks, Nuno doesn’t have many options that are proven to work to score goals. It’s damage limitation until the number 9 vacancy is filled and Josh King is a realistic suggestion as it looks like Abraham and Giroud won’t leave Chelsea. An away win prediction in the hope that I’m wrong as usual.
Just had one draw and two defeats and not that much better than us. But there you go .
After recent results all round I wouldn’t be surprised if we got 3 or 4 points from the next two games, it would be well in character for us. Of the two games I’d be happy with a draw at Old Trafford which means I have to go for a win v Spurs although I imagine it will be close and we will do well to stop them scoring. All of which works out to a prediction of 2-1, but who knows? Would like to see Fabio get at least one to boost his confidence though.

Wishing every man jack of you a happy Christmas. I’m thoroughly fed up with cockerels mind…
Like all birds, of every type, they should get a stuffing at Christmas!!!
And while we are all in the festive mood, I have to tell the tale of Spurs fans and Big Mark.
North Bank, mid seventies, I think,( the years not the temperature, ) there we are, Me, Pat Banks, Ada of the turquoise suit, Big Mark Davies, Carol and her boyfriend who’s name I forget, Barry and a few others, all in our regular spot, half way up the terraces, right bang smack behind the goal.
Match going on, forget the final score, when a long line of Spurs “fans” walk right in front of us, looking for one of us to start some trouble.
They all moved along, no one making eye contact, until the last one, and the ugliest, passed in front of Big Mark.
Now Big Mark is 6’4″ in his socks, and at the time regularly played rugby for Willenhall, so not to be messed with.
Without batting an eyelid, out shot his fist faster than Traore, right into the face of ugly Spurs fan.
Blood and snot ensued, as he fell to the floor. Up he got, looked at Big Mark, who was totally ignoring him, and decided cowardice was his best option.
The other Spurs morons never noticed what had happened.
Happy memories!
Oh what fun is to see the Wanderers win at home!!
Can’t see anything but a Wolves win tomorrow, or Monday if you live in NZ or OZ, unless the clocks have changed, and an even better one in midweek.
Hope you all had a great Xmas and the hangover isn’t too bad! 🙂
Never really thought we`d beat Chelsea, although predicted correctly a 2-1 win. I`m in the same boat right no , can`t really see us coping with Kane and Song unless we play 3 at back and wingbacks.
So many of the team cant play so badly twice in a row, can they? and Spurs will probably play on the break moving forward at pace when they can, and not try the aerial route.
Not really looking forward to the game, but Podence and Netto to win the game for us perhaps.
for dogs sake !
thats my boxing day ruined !
Worry about this coming game ! Just watched Villa, who keep the ball so well ,
not looking forward to playing them again either ! We must have more possession
in the middle of the park and play through the middle to give an inexperienced centre forward any chance , as he is living off scraps at the moment. Fewer sideways passes please !
With better luck . Better finishing and without Mike Dean we would have beaten Villa a couple of weeks ago. They did hardly anything.
Just watched Villa do a job on Palace.
Three things spring to mind.
What were we doing getting rid of Kortney Hause when he seemed to be developing into a really good defender?
Jack Grealish, in spite of being an annoying, cheating, annoying… Oh I’ve already said annoying, diving, toe rag… is a damn good footballer.
The rest of the team are getting near to perfecting his art of how to fall over at the least touch.
Agree especially about Kortney Hause DG. I was amazed when they decided to get rid.
Just hope Chelsea stuff Arsenal my least fav club on the planet. Would love to see them go down.
They’d still be featured on football focus every week on again today poor Arteta if they do go down they might just might learn a bit of humility……….I doubt it though.
Canos………remember the name scored a hatrick for Brentford today scored a cracker against Newcastle midweek think he’s 24 he is skillfull and scores goals.
He would not cost a bomb he’s good in the air and on the floor scoring goals in the Championship is not easy it’s a tough league as we well know.
Just putting it out there…..should be worth a look..!
Agree about Grealish , world class player , have him down the Wolves tomorrow !
Neves needs to work on his touch ,the ball pings off his foot too many times,
which puts him in trouble , he tries to retrieve the ball and commits a foul ! It’s not
easy to teach , you either have a good touch or you don’t !
Word class? That would mean him getting in world squad at a world cup. My arse!
Playing two games a week (EPL, EFLCup, European games) doesn’t seem to have affected the Big Six too much (OK, Arsenal’s crap EPL results and Man U out of Europe aside).
Spurs have Dele Alli sitting out and Doc bench warming.
They’re just all round better than us.
We’ll need ten behind the ball for eighty minutes and then a quick break out to get anything from this one
But they play on the break football just like us!
Arsenal just got a penalty which had even less contact than Neto’s recent shout. Of course, Arsenal get their penalty and we don’t! I was about to grumble that the “big six” always get the decisions, but remembered Arsenal are no longer a “big six” club! Haha!
Saw a bloke walking down the road the other day, with a naked woman on his back.
I asked him what he was doing.
He said he was going to a fancy dress party.
“ what you going as?”
“a tortoise”
“ why is that woman on your back?”
“That’s Michelle”
Hope everyone has a good as Christmas as possible. Here’s to a hopeful New Year on all fronts.
A better performance please then we are capable of getting a result.
Merry Christmas to all from sunny California
Just catching up on Boxing Day footie recordings
Can’t get optimistic about Spurs game as Mourinho will have sussed us
No matter I think by February we will
Be chugging along nicely again
Meantime any news of Christmas Day dip in North Sea? A pic would be nice to see Bedford…
Cheers!
See my post just now. The swim happened.
Blimey Bedders. Yer a braver man than me, Gunga Din.
Brilliant
I promised to cover any deficit to your 3000 pound target
What do I owe?
Please send link
Nice job young man
Hi Brian
Well I had to increase my target to £3,500. It currently stands at £3,290 though I have £57 to pay in yet from my mother-in-law who donated her jar of 10p pieces to the cause. So that would take us to £3,347. I wouldn’t expect you to donate the other £153 so please just put in whatever amount you are comfortable with and I will top it up to the magic £3,500 figure. Is that ok? If you donate next you will be ‘supporter’ number 100!
Would be good to maybe have a chat sometime if you are up for that given that you unfortunately experienced the same thing as me not so long ago and I think you have to have gone through the same thing to fully understand. My number is 07709 491138 and email is dave@mcgirls.co.uk

Here’s hoping for a far happier 2021 for us all.

Xmas joke. WHAT DO YOU CALL A WOMAN WHO IS JUGGLING 3 PINTS OF BEER WHILST PLAYING SNOOKER ? BEATRIX POTTER……..
That’s a cracker Cheesey. Or is that where you got it?
Sheffield United lost again Jesus H Christmases.
Would love 3 points. Would take 1 point.
But not confident of either
Can someone please explain why Arsenal are given a penalty after a VAR review tonight v Chelsea. But Wolves on the Neto challenge v Chelsea are not? Happy to receive any answers?
On the basis that we hopefully won’t produce a performance like last time out I’m going honours even
So which Wolves team shows up? I’m gonna go with the one the beats the strong teams but struggles against the teams that are perceived to be in the lower tier.
WGH!
Spurs must win this to stay in touch with the top six. It means much more to them than us. So I’m going for another sneaky late Spurs win, like they always seem to put over us at the Mol.
Some updates – good and bad.
On Christmas Eve returning hone from placing a wreath on my Julie’s grave I discovered that a fire had destroyed my garage including my brand new Crocodile remote control garage door. Things lost included all of my children’s and grandchildren’s Christmas presents, their bikes and scooters, most of the Christmas food and provisions and my entire beloved collection of Wolves programmes dating back to the 1940’s that I had spent a lifetime collecting and which are simply irreplaceable.
On Christmas morning I decided I had little else to lose so set off at 5am driving through flooded roads to Southwold. At around 745am I entered the freezing cold water of the North Sea. Temperature was minus three and it started sleeting. I have never been so cold in my life. Got back home at 1045am. I will post the few pictures – and video? – I managed to take on my own. Total raised so far for MacMillan Cancer Support is £3,240 plus gift aid which takes it to around £3,800.
Cannot wait for 2020 to end.

Wow sorry to hear that trail of events
Chin up and great charity work
Wow. Very sorry to hear that.
Bloody well done mate!!!
Proud of you.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with you for the coming year.
Next time I see you I’ll buy you a large, and VERY alcoholic drink.
Or a hot chocolate if you haven’t thawed out by then.
Bedford, unbelievable…2021 has to better year chap, for us all.
Big well done for the swim and raising an amount.
All the best.
So sorry to hear that. 2021 can only get better for you.
Not one for swearing on the blog Bedders, but that a really s”!t£ thing to happen. Bloody hell to it.
Bedders, so sorry to hear about your garage fire mate.
Very well done completing your swim in the circumstances.
Chin up 2021 has to be better!
Take care.
Dave,
Your’e definitely going to be in credit now mate, buy a lottery ticket or back a few horses, your’e luck has to change soon.
Well done on the swim, my brother in law was in the North Sea this morning for a swim just North of Aberdeen, then he drove home through the snow.
Seems your’e not the only mad Southerner around, (he was born in Blackheath)
I’m more bothered about the next transfer window than the next two games as they wont determine our season.
This is when we see if fosun go to the christmas sales for a bargain or through the front door of harrods to get something of quality…… whats your guess ?????
Worry about Semedo coping with Son
But we are ever the optimists
Traore been playing with a foot injury since November
I’m expecting a double debacle this week. No, it’s not a new cocktail. But I think I’ll need a couple of stiff drinks before the weekend.
There again this could be part two of a triple!
Need to keep it tight similar to the Chelsea game.
Very difficult to see us winning this one based on the Burnley performance but maybe Santa has saved up a late prezzie for us. Would love to see a win but I will settle for a draw.
We are so inconsistent lately, it’s becoming more difficult to predict performances, tactics or results.
I hope we see Boly, Marcal and Silva all start this one.
Sounds like Dendoncker is injured and Traore is carrying a foot injury too.
Let’s hope the inconsistencies continue with a convincing home victory. Current odds 3/1 are lower than I was expecting.
I want to hear the excuse The Special One is going to come out with……oh sorry, he hasn’t been special for a while now. The Special One manages us.
Can I wish all bloggers a Merry Christmas and a happy new tier? Don’t know about you but my Christmas has been rubbish. Santa brought me COVID for Christmas. A test on Christmas Day confirmed it and shut down my plans. It is so boring having to isolate, alone of course. I never realised how crappy TV is at Christmas! At least I could watch all the football on Boxing Day and today.
Maybe Santa will buck up and give me a Wolves win? Frankly, if Tinkerman Nuno stops tinkering, we have a chance. What was remarkable about Nuno’s first three seasons was the small squad and few changes from match to match. The results were self-evident: we over-achieved. I know we needed more players, but more of the same, build on sound foundations. I didn’t expect to lose top players.
Starts for Silva and Traore are needed today. These two plus Pod and Neto are fast enough to give Spurs problems. Boly was clearly missed against Burnley. 2-1 to us.
Sorry to hear that DWW.
How are you feeling?
Apart from well pissed off.
Thanks DOOG mate. Was feeling well pissed off and generally very yucky. Take care yourself as the new covid variant is supercharged. Get the vaccine if you have the chance.
Going to be incredibly tough for the lads today. I have the confidence that we will pout up a great fight but we wont get the result.
2-1 Spurs,
Please prove me wrong boys
OMG do we need some additions in January.
I can’t see much coming out of this line up, prove me wrong boys.
The Donk is a huge miss. Hope the front lads work back to help out Jao and Ruben
COMBs!
Btw Happy New Year plus an early vaccine for all our bloggers
David v Goliath. Let’s hope we are talking about this game for years to come- for all the right reasons
David v Goliath. What are you on about?
Looking at the lineup / possible formation, I can see us losing the midfield battle.
This might well have a few goals in it. Not necessarily in our favour.
Going with my heart.
‘The Special One’ entering Molineux tonight.
No words needed.
I will take the point. Thought we played well. Where was VAR penalty early second half ? Yet again we don’t get it. All the gloom and doom mongers saying we would get smashed f**k off. FWAW.
Decent all round performance tonight but should of won it at the death , better from Silva but he’s just not ready for this level , must get a proper striker in Jan . Raul would of had a couple tonight ! Patricio not at his best needs to command
the box more !
I thought Semedo and Traore played off each other better tonight.
Silva has to score with those opportunities.
I saw him go up for a header and was going down before the ball even reached him.
(Does the ball fly differently in Portugal?)
While I was shoveling snow before the game, I was thinking that Saisse might be someone to score because he has scored some before – probably more than most of the others.
I’m not sure if we were that dominant or if they let us have possession. (I guess we only had 55% possession but it seemed like more.)
When other players go down easily in the penalty box, their commentators say they are allowed to or don’t say anything but when Silva went down, they complain. (Same with Traore a few weeks ago). Why do I have to listen to this -the guy said he wasn’t a Spurs fan but he seemed to be commentating like he was.
Arsenal. Liverpool. Chelsea. Spurs. = 7 points. But we am shit ay we. ………
Take the point, think on… more positives than negatives. The nunettes hung in there and didn’t fold after a shocking start. Admit it, how many of us feared the worst after that goal? well it didn’t happen did it? Spurs didn’t get near us after the 22nd minute, where were Kane and Son tonight? And we had four at the back!
If only….
I suggest that you post when a little less inebriated Cheesy but get your point. Should have won it at the death. Enjoy the beers.
I am mate. Bank holiday monday tomorrow! Well done MOTD 2. Wolves on last.
And three more on Tuesday night!!
