Progressing is all that matters.
Win tonight and beat Bristol City to make the quarter finals.

On paper at least there’s an excellent opportunity to reach the latter stages of the competition.
It’s a different challenge of course, winning two games you’re expected to win, but one this highly capable group can easily manage.
The fact this game is close to a sell out tells you Molineux believes.

Shrewsbury
I expect the game plan from Sam Ricketts won’t be significantly different to the previous match.
They’ll sit in, remain as compact as possible and look to seize on loose balls and set pieces to do the damage.
Dave Edwards could feature but the indication in yesterday’s press conference was that he’s still slightly off the pace so a substitute appearance might be the limit of his aspirations.
They have another former Wolves man in their group now after signing Scott Golbourne on a free transfer but he’s unable to feature due to FA Cup rules stipulating anyone signed after the initial tie can’t feature in the replay.
Still, he’ll be a great signing for Shrewsbury and I find it hard to comprehend that such a capable performer, still only 30, couldn’t find a club in the summer.
The heat is on at the New Meadow though after two league defeats sent them second bottom. With suspensions to contend with they’re not coming into this replay in great shape.
Wolves
Jota is ruled out but thankfully the injury to Neves wasn’t serious and he could feature. Not sure he’ll be risked though.

Complete guesswork on the starting XI, but Nuno has confirmed Ryan Giles will get another taste of the action.
I’d have thought Saiss, Gibbs-White and Traore might be given a go. Costa and Cav haven’t seen much action lately either so will be in the manager’s thoughts I’m sure.
Niall Ennis is also being awarded a place in the squad but I think he’ll be introduced from the bench with so many attackers in the first team short on minutes.
Prediction
No Prediction League points up for grabs in the cup but I’m forecasting a win, hopefully with a bit to spare.
Surely if they were going to eliminate us, it would be from 2-0 up on their home patch?
Taking into account they can’t even field their best XI, I’ve got to predict a Wolves victory.
2-0.
Up The Wolves!

Full house on a cold wet Tuesday night against Shrewsbury
Cant be bad can it.
No repeat of the lethargy from the first tie and we will be 2 up by half time with the result 4-0.
Mesmerizing passing and movement that will leave the shrews dizzy and bewildered .
coyw
Would like to think we could win this by 5/6 but it’s the fa cup
Of course
I would play a few youngsters but only a few
Get the job done early on move on to Bristol city, job done cmon wolves. Going for 2 0 wolves though
Hope Nuno starts with a strong eleven . Maybe play Cav up top with Raul. Then bring on Traore and maybe Niall Ennis once we are a couple of goals up . Slumming it in the South Bank for a change with the rest of the Steve Bull upper ! …only joking . Hopefully it will bring back found memories of when I was a lad and enjoyed watching the likes of Richards , Hibbitt and co .
Full house, Wolves win
COYW
I don’t care if we win 5-0, 4-3, 1-0 or in extra time with a deflection from the cat on the pitch. Long as we win. Let’s have a proper tilt at it and go for a TROPHY. League position is all well and good but just imagine WINNING A TROPHY. I’m 44 and was at Wembley in ‘88. It felt like winning the FA Cup that day but what would it be like to do the real thing? The insanity of this season is that it’s an actual possibility rather than an impossible dream. It’s hard not to get ahead of yourself this season but who knows? Nuno has a Dream and I’ve got one too.
Would like to see Jimmy and Cav up front to start with. After an hour or so (with a 3 goal advantage), bring on young Ennis for a taste joined by Traore. The thing is any team fielded by Nuno should win this at a canter. But they have to play with intensity. 3-0 for me.
On paper, it should be a stroll in the park, but football’s not played on paper, it’s played on the park, which makes things all the more confusing. However, we can’t afford to stroll, although they may park the bus, but hopefully not on the park.
I’m going for a little lie down.
Wolves 4 v 1 Shrews.
Dangerous to score for them.
Which one?
Dangerous Dave or Dangerous Donk (which has started to appear in some of the Excess and Star articles)
Hopefully Dangerous Donk won’t score for them. 🙂
I think Shrewsbury’s best chance disappeared in the 93rd minute of the first leg. Expecting a fairly straightforward, if not very entertaining, game. Would like to see Cav get a start with MGW behind him. 2-0.
If Dangerous (the original) plays I’m sure he’ll get a warm welcome in recognition of a decade of loyal and unselfish effort.
Talking of wolves fans?
We are going to start a crowd funding page to raise, £1000 to the fan that can put together a song about “Leander Dendonker”
Now there’s a challenge for you.
Wolves to run out 7-0 winners tonight.
Jiminez 3
Naill Ennis 2
Dendonker 1
Doherty 1
At least we shouldn’t have to put up with those naught little boys that were vert badly behaved at their ground. Too late for them, travelling all this way and school in the morning.
Little shits.
COMBambinos
Would love a cup run. 2-0 Wolves.
As I posted before the first match, I’d like to see us revert to the 3-4-3 that saw off so many better teams than Shrewsbury teams last season. Ruddy in goal, Raul to lead the line and after that it shouldn’t really matter who we put out on the field. 4-0 to us.
Incredible that we have a sell out on our hands. In the Morgan/Moxey days a Tuesday night cup replay, even versus a local side, wouldn’t have pulled in more than 12k is my guess.
Starting Traore up front would be a huge mistake in my mind, especially against a team playing deep and leaving no space behind their back line. If Jota is out for a while then that is devastating news because I really felt we were really starting to see something special with the starting eleven v Everton.
There’s a lot of talk about us winning the FA Cup, but so far I’ve not seen anyone discuss the most important question this potential victory would raise, namely what would a cup triumph mean for the Wolves subway? We’ve only just had it done!
Luckily enough Laurie Dalrymple came round for tea last night (had to serve him beans on toast cos me cooker’s bost), and he explained that the club are planning to extend the subway by a few metres to fit the new trophy on when we win. By 2030 the subway should be halfway to Asda as he reckons we’re gonna win every competition we enter for the next decade or so.
So that’s alright then.
It’s our night tonight, they be had their chance
Don’t suppose their firm of Herbert s will show up as although it’s a local derby, it’s still a long way to come on a fucking skateboard
Got to wish Shrewsbury all the best going forward
Some good wolves boys their in Dave Edwards, Lewis , Sam Ricketts. Earning a wage with integrity. As all of the above play an honest game with a good heart .
Good luck for the future shrews … but not tonight
I really hope Nuno gives the FA Cup the respect it deserves and puts a winnable team out to progress us into the next round to face a formidable foe Bristol city,as we all know we have history.
Don’t get me wrong I’m all about giving the second string a chance to shine but let’s get the job done then make the changes.
Nuno we trust to get it right.
UTW FOWB.
3-1
Simply a Wolves win nothing else for me. In fact a tonking is on the cards.
Sat in the Billy Quiet tonight as the Steve Bull was not open when I got my ticket. Just hope someone doesn’ t shit on my seat when the 5th goal goes in.
Wolves 5
Shrewsbury 0
To the same tune we sang
” Frankie Munro,
Frankie Munro,
Allo, Allo”
We can sing:
” Leander Dendoncker
Leander Dendoncker,
Allo, Allo”
And he will appreciate that, as it’s the same name as the tv show from a million years ago, about the French Resistance in the Second World War, which was set in France (duh) which is next door to Belgium. And not a reference to next door and cats, Mr. Limberger of Death, if you please.
See that subtle reference to Belgian cheese, another reason he will like the song.
Where is my 5 grand?
Note to self: must get out more.
Easy win tonight, don’t care by what score (liar) but 5-1 would be nice.
FOwb
Give us a cup run please!
🙂
Times they are a changing
We’re going from a single black cat to eleven shrews on the pitch.
Our pack of Wolves, no matter who is in it tonight, should be more than enough to chew them up and spit them out.
Sam Ricketts will have them well prepared but I expect, and hope for, at least two goals in our favour.
Good luck Wolves! We’ve got this! I want a Wolves v Man U FA Cup final, so we can tonk them and win it in style! So first things first, let’s give those Shrews a spanking and move on to do the same to Bristol.
Let’s go Wanderers!
Two entries….
Give me an L
L
Give me an E
E
Give me an A
A
Etc
… bit long I know
Or….
We’ve got a Belgian
A big effin Belgian
( you know the rest..)
Wolves 3 shrews nil
As we are in dreamland in the league and playing really well can we please have a final reaching run in the cup? 3-1 tonight will do.
I was at the Brighton v Wolves match, last day of the Championship season in May 2013. Relegation to League One was confirmed that day. Jamie O’Hara was banging his fist on the pitch in mock frustration. Pausing only to chuck Roger Johnson’s shirt back at him, our fans were singing Que Sera Sera, whatever will be will be, we’re going to Shrewsbury…
What a difference six years makes! And what a reward for long suffering fans. 6-0 tonight.
A decent cup run would be great but for me it’s one step at a time. I’ll be happy if we can – and we should – dispose of Shrewsbury. A win by at least 2 goals will do nicely.
The starting eleven is anyone’s guess but I’d like to see Cav starting and Ennis coming on at some stage.
Wolves 3 Shrews 1
It would be great for Dangerous Dave to get a run out tonight at Molineux; I’m sure he’ll get a big cheer, having been such an honest and willing performer for Wolves over many years, through three divisions.
I do hope too that Scott Golbourne will have a successful time at Shrewsbury, as I always thought he had a lot of ability playing with us. It seems he has been around quite a bit, playing for teams struggling against relegation, injuries, and getting his name spelled wrong so often.

Tonight I’m betting on a Wolves win by more than 2 goals, although we always seem to dip in form when playing a few new lads, I’m sure we’ll do much better back on a full size pitch.
This was always going to be difficult after choosing that attack and midfield. En masse our support players don’t yet quite cut the mustard.
Phew. The Shrews were a credit to themselves, their club and their division. But the Wolves go marching on.
We wuz shit.
But we won.
Wurzle country next.
Well I reckon Slam Reckitt didn’t get the script.
The cheeky fekkers even took the lead. WTF
Was a poor day at the office but they’re allowed that one.
Now on to Brizzie, reckon we might need to start another £8K collection as Nuno has form there & would literary piss mi’sen if he celebrated again in front of their directors – pure magic.
And finally a shout out to Shrewsbury, at least they had a game plan & kept shape well & took the game to ya, including the 1:2 scare story – but all’s well that ends well.
