Every time this season has given, it’s taken away.
No sooner had we all but secured our PL status, we learn Pedro Neto is out for up to six months with a broken kneecap.
Added to the horrible news about Jonny and the lingering question mark over what sort of condition Raul will be in when he eventually returns, the future doesn’t feel bright.

This squad needs rest and quality additions in the summer if we’re to do anything but survive next time, but in the meantime, there’s an opportunity for fringe players to step into the team in a low-pressure environment and increase their standing.
And as much as I want to see the team pushing up towards 50 points by the finish, I think it’s important Nuno gives the likes of Hoever, Otasowie, Vitinha, Fabio and a few of the others some serious game time.
They might feel like dead-rubber fixtures, but they represent an opportunity to properly audit the personnel in the context of the competition we need them to excel next season.
Sheff Utd
It could have been so much worse of course – just ask any Blades supporter.
They’ve been decimated by injuries, a disastrous loss of form and a parting of the ways with the man who masterminded their success.
With Chris Wilder in charge, I’d have backed them to make an immediate return, but now I’m not quite so certain.

They’ve got a good nucleus of players that should perform well in the Championship though, so it’s a solid foundation for whoever eventually takes over.
Playing in the second tier will help some of their misfiring strikers who’ve endured a torrid time of things.
They’ve only managed 17 goals as a team and £23.5 million summer signing Rhian Brewster hasn’t got any of them. He’ll get chances to rectify that in the remaining games though with Oli McBurnie and Billy Sharp both ruled out for the season with injury.
I’ve watched a few of their games and they have that familiar trait of all-but-relegated sides of being OK up until they concede and then rapidly falling away.
That’s exactly what happened last weekend against Arsenal in what became another heavy defeat.
Wolves
Even without Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves, we can field a side capable of winning this game. This is what I think Nuno will pick.

Fabio and Gibbs-White may be central to his thoughts having contributed significantly late on at Craven Cottage.
As mentioned previously, I’d also like to get a good look at Vitinha and Otasowie at some point in the remaining fixtures.
Hopefully Willy Boly can play out the season, as our preferred back three will give us a solid platform to bring others in and out further up the pitch.
Last time out
We uncharacteristically stormed into an early 2-0 lead at Bramall Lane back in August and saw it out with a degree of comfort despite Utd asking plenty of questions in the second half.

Last season, we drew 1-1 at Molineux when the going was better for both sides. It was the Blades who got the early goal that day before Matt Doherty rescued a point.

Predictions
Well done to Ryan, Woodend wolf, Prawny, Aussiewolf, Marin Wolf, Brompton Wolf, winchwolf, basherbaz, GoWolves and Mosman Wolf for collecting a maximum by correctly predicting the scoreline against Fulham.
Prawny moves into the outright lead at the top of the overall table at the end of Gameweek 31.
As always if you’d like to join in, simply leave your prediction for this game in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

What does everyone think Nuno should prioritise then – points or experimentation?
I think we should go strongest XI in this game because it’s a golden opportunity to crest 40 points.
They look beaten down and have even worse injury problems than us, so there’s really no excuse not to get the three points.
I’d like to see Adama take the confidence from his goal at Fulham and attack this game. We need a lot more from Podence too, especially with Neto out for the season.
A goal in each half and a resilient defensive outing would do for me.
Results 😉
Season is a wash and has been for a while. We all react different to results but as a Wolves fan, being safe in the prem is a dream. Our third season. In the highest division. With players that will actually want to come and play at a stable team.
Next season, with a proper pre season, no europa and our players back. SKY IS THE LIMIT.
But we must finish this season strong and gain some more points/places in my opinion.
It think points and experimentation very possible. From the little I’ve seen of the second string players mentioned in the write up I am hopeful that we could see some entertaining football. It will be especially pleasing if Fabio continued on his upward trajectory of the last six weeks. And Willian has got to score a couple between now and mid-May surely?
Would love Nuno to mix it up and give some of the younger fringe players game time as we are now pretty secure. Sadly I don’t think he will, I expect the team that played the second half against Fulham except for Boly replacing Neves but swapping roles with Dencdoncker. We should have enough to beat Sheffield Utd.
Nuno unfortunately is a stubborn so-and-so and whatever we think he should do, he most definitely won’t!
Yes, like you Thomas, I think he should ‘blood’ the youngster and see what they can (or can’t) do but knowing Nuno, he will persist in playing his favourites and it seems that they will all have to get injured to change his mind!
He has lost Neto now and Neves too so he will have to do something, exactly what though won’t be a logical choice I’m sure.
On the future, as you say, Jimenez is an unknown as regards him playing again. Maybe he will but will he be the same player if he does?
As a consequence, I am glad to see Wolves being linked with striker such as Vinicius and Yaramchuk (latest news!) and of course thinking of bringing back Mir although again, Nuno probably has ‘written him off and ignores the fact he will cost us nothing!
Coming back to what is needed, a defender who can actually mark players at set pieces, win the ball and play out from the back. An attacking midfielder who can run at defences and make defence splitting passes and finally that striker we have needed for what seems ages. The fans have complained for a while that one day we will need a back-up striker if Jimenez gets injured etc and that’s exactly what happened!
As regards the Sheffield game, who by the way are the worst team I have seen this season, IF Wolves can at least score a couple, it should be beyond SU to even make a game of it but as we all know, whenever someone hasn’t scored for a long time or a team hasn’t beaten another for years, when they come up against the Wolves, bang, they go and break that record!
Here’s hoping it doesn’t happen again!
I would play are strongest team for the next 3 or 4 games get as high up the table as possible the higher up the table the more money you get. If we can get to 50 points then throw the youngsters in to see what they can do as of the game against Sheffield 3-0 for the Wolves.
I’ve absolutely no idea what the future will hold although it will still be golden.
None of us have a clue how it will go but I trust Nuno more than ever ..silence from the owners doesn’t help our plight at all,.
Nuno is a shrewd operator i m o
Players missing will give others the opportunity to step up so maybe not so bad after all.
Play our strongest team in every game Hopefully bring on youngsters when a match is all but won. Young Silva needs at least 45 minutes instead of a quick cameo. I know we’re desperate to get Jose on the scoresheet but, let’s face it, he won’t be with us next season. It’s far more important to get Silva and Traore clicking together, as they did so well against Fulham. That goal was magic. Jose has been unlucky but his ship has sailed, we’re not going to fork out a fortune to keep him. 3-0 Wolves.
I don’t expect us to win this. Too many injuries to key players. Unreliable young backup players. And when we play the relegation clubs we often don’t show. All sad, but true. Get it out of the way, win on 1st. May then … wait for next season.
Apparently, Silva has a release clause of under £ 25 million. Andre Silva.
Not sure how much he makes a week but he’s been talked about for years.
We are definitely going to need a left-back but I suspect a loan might be most appropriate.
I can see them getting rid of Cutrone, Mir and Vinagre and getting £ 50 or 60 million for them. Since Nuno doesn’t seem to want them, why not.
Look for Corbeanu to make the bench again, he’s been seen playing on the left side during the U23s.
Looks like you was Right Joseph!
The sport is now all about money, so given there are rumours that Fosun will be reducing their investment its important to finish as high up the table as possible. Likewise, its important to realise the highest possible fee for those of our players no longer considered to be essential – e.g. 10-12 million each for Mir and Vinagre would be a good return. Something similar for Cutrone, hopefully.
As for this weekend, if Nuno is committed to changing to 4 at the back then playing at home against the worst team in the division is the ideal opportunity. I expect a home win.
Wolfman Jack. If those rumours are true they couldn’t of picked a worse time also it proves my suspicions were right which give me no pleasure.
To me that would be a mistake not just because I’m a Wolves fan but because our history has proven that when owners pull the plug on investing we only go one way indeed that the same for every football club and business for that matter.
Yes, I too think Nuno will start with the strongest eleven (as listed in the above formation). If we do get a couple of goals ahead, I expect he will rest Mautinho and bring in Otasowie or Vitinha. There will also be the usual Jose/Silva swap. Hopefully Podence will last the distance. Would love to see Traore get on the score sheet again
I think a 2 goal advantage for Wolves at the end. Going for a 2-0 (was seriously thinking of 3-1, but they seem to be lacking their top scorers.
Neto is a big a loss as Raul on the one hand it means no one will buy him but on the other hand we Can not play him as Thomas has mentioned the Lord give’th and the Lord take’th away cruel is the only way to discribe our luck this season with injuries.
Of course this opens up opertunities for other again I agree with Thomas I hope Nuno plays some of the fringe players especially those we are supposed to considering buy…..With the squad so thin at the moment I don’t see how he has any choice.
With the news Jonny and Neto are going to be out for six to nine months this increases the pressure on Jeff and FOSUN to stump up a decent transfer fund this summer I’d go as far as to say a substantial transfer fund losing those two and the fact some of the squad have reached there sell by date and others haven’t lived up to expectations means IMO it’s imperative they invest heavily this summer if we even want to achieve mid table and stay out of trouble next season.
To the game if we had everyone fit then I’d be predicting a win…..but we had lost our big hitters it depends on who comes in and where. The Blades will still be playing for pride and with our injuries will fancy there chances.
Looks like Raul is now taking part in the scrimmages. Or someone who looks an awful lot like him.
Are you using the term ‘scrimmages’ simply to provoke a response ?
‘Cos I can think of one or two who will jump at the bait…
Not me
WOLVES TO WIN…1-0
I just want this dreadful season to end and so we can look forward to a new season untainted by viruses and major injuries and with fans once more able to return to stadia.
Roll on August I say!
This game – I think we will win but it won’t be a stroll in the park.
My score-line is based on the infallible logic that this would be our fourth ‘double’ of the season and the others all saw the same score repeated both home and away i.e. Leeds 1-0 and 1-0, Fulham 1-0 and 1-0 and Arsenal 2-1 and 2-1 so having won 2-0 at their place I am going for a repeat 2-0 score prediction.
OODCL
I like your logic Bedford, but with the key injuries we’ve got I’m left wondering if we can score 2.
Time for a change tomorrow, but nuno won’t, he will play dendonker, come on give the kids a chance, arsenal doing well with them, he won’t off course, stubborn as a mule, time to get drunk again, wolves aie we.
It has to be strongest 11 possible until we are mathematically safe and then is the time to experiment. Hopefully 3 or 4 games to ‘play with’ leading into a break and then pre season should suit us fine
I see a rerun of our last meeting with them;2 quick goals and 3 points.
A dead rubber between two sides struggling to score. Hopefully our side will be somewhat refreshed with all the replacements brought in to cover for injuries and we’ll play with some freedom and flair. But still difficult to see where the goals are going to come from. Reluctantly I’m predicting only a narrow victory.
I have to concur with the previous posts on Nuno being likely to stick with a tried and tested lineup in order to build momentum from the Fulham game. If we can take a lead into half time (not likely I know) I’d like to see Vitinha given 45 to see if he can dictate the tempo as he did so well in the recent U21 games and MGW and Fabio given time to build on some of the lively interchanges they’ve shown together.
Don’t MGW and Vitinha both play attacking midfielder roles? Do we want to play with two of them?
Well they’ve both played attacking mid for us but I fancy Vitinha playing further back as a replacement for Moutinho. Not sure he’s got the defensive nous to play the role just yet but worth a look.
If truth be told I think Sheffield Utd. have had a worse injury hit season than us and in some ways they have my sympathy. Having said that we need to win and win well tommorow just to get a decent feeling back in the place. All this talk of Fosun cutting investment, Nuno going to Spurs etc. is, in my opinion, just newspapers trying to sell copies. Until and unless it happens it is just a load of Boll**cks as far as I am concerned.
I have no idea what team Nuno will send out for this game, and in truth it should not matter, we surely have and eleven better than they could put out, injuries or not.
Wolves to win and hopefully at a canter
In answer to your question Thomas, results until it’s absolutely mathematically 100% certain that we won’t go down.
After that, I don’t really care what side we put out.
This season can be flushed down the toilet of history as far as I’m concerned.
Our squad is so depleted that I was thinking of getting my boots and gloves out and ‘phoning Nuno. But we seem to have a full complement of ‘keepers, so I’ll just open another bottle of beer instead.
But we really SHOULD beat the Blades quite convincingly.
Perhaps Jose will even score a goal that slips past the all seeing, but totally uncomprehending, eyes of the VAR Secret Police.
Time for Nuno to have one eye on next season.
After screaming for sticking with three at the back for the last few months, if 4231 is the preferred system for next year then I hope he goes with that for the remaining fixtures.
Blooding a few youngsters would also be a good idea.
I’m with most bloggers, strongest 11 until it is mathematical impossible to go down. One of my good mates is a home and away Blades fan and it is ironic us winning will condemn them to the drop.
Lets get the points and then we can experiment.
So many quandaries surrounding WWFC and Fosun.. the reports about the Chinese government telling businesses to reduce investment in European football clubs and invest at home, will have an impact for a few clubs. It is the Chinese way to say nothing, but just quitely get on with the instructions from the mother ship, but that of course is alien to us and as fans not knowing just drives speculation and lots of social media BS. We will have to wait and see.
3 points tomorrow will always help.
Keep the faith.
When reading Thomas’ remark “They’ve been decimated by injuries, a disastrous loss of form…” I thought “sounds like us!” So why are they on the bottom and we’re not? Maybe because the next part of his remark, “and a parting of the ways with the man who masterminded their success”, isn’t us. Just a thought.
Let’s just get behind the team and the decisions being made for these last few games and see where it leads us.
Tough one to predict (aren’t they all!) because what decisions will be made? Will they experiment with the lineup, go 4 in the back, 3 in the back, etc. I dunno, so my usual.
Let’s Go Wolves!
Well said. Agree 100%.
We ought to win . . . . . . but I wouldn’t put money on it. Going for a very optimistic 4 – 1.
Place = money, so I want to see wins for the rest of the season, including the last match, especially the last match.
Having said that, Kilman, Otasowie and Vitinha should feature if we are serious that we buy players for the future. The future is now.
I’m abandoning the trusty 2-1 and going for a clean sheet and a few goals (for a change).
.
Nuno’s remit is to win games and I think he will play his strongest team in a format best suited to beat Sheffield. United may be bottom of the league but will still play with pride and we should respect that they can take our scalp if we are complacent. Over the full 90 mins we should have enough quality to win- I would go for 442- (- Saiss on bench,) Podence and Adama wide midfield, Donk in for Neves. Jose and Fabio paired as a front 2. No fixture pile up and therefore no need to protect players, but this is not the game to pitch in more youngsters either, 2 is enough. .
Just the set up I’m going for Woodend with the same players. Now is the right time to experiment. If the first half goes the way we hope it will, like loads of others, I would like to see fringe players like MGW, Vitanha, Otawosie and Corbeneau given a run out.
Also Woodend like you I’m predicting a 2-0 win It’s bound to be right eventually.
I think this game will be a tight affair, Can’t see us scoring more than 2 goals and probably Sheffield will be thinking this could be a chance to put a win under their belts before they drop into the championshite again.
Our horrendous bad luck with injuries strikes again with Neto falling under the knife to correct his patella.God get him back as good as ever.
I hope Traore steps up to the plate again and bangs in a few more goals before this awful season ends.
Onwards and upwards.
We will win
Sorry Tomas but I think it unlikely Nuno will make wholesale changes. I’d be surprised if the impressions don’t have to be made on the training field rather than during matches.
I also think it likely now will be the time he persists with a back four. In fact a 4-3-3 wouldn’t surprise me maybe with a space being made for either MGW or Vitinha.
We should have enough to beat a weakened and demoralised Sheffield side so I’m going for a second win.
Incidentally I feel I should be returning a prediction league point as everyone who wasn’t in Stockley park knows we beat Fulham 2-0
*Thomas
i couldnt give a flying f;;;k who wins
football has become a nothing this season
wolves will stay up
of course they will
big deal
will fosun turn us into a super team
will they f;;;k
please sell us fosun to someone who cares and is free of their government control
Baseless criticism spikeboy
Part of what you say is a bit of an unknown spikester.
I think, come next season we will have a much clearer picture of how certain we are of Found commitment.
Until then I will cling to the hope that all will turn out well.
I suggest water next time, spikey.
I’m firmly in the strongest team until safe camp, then look to give the youngsters a bit more time.
Wolves to win.
I think we will win this game by the same score line we should have won the last one. 2-0. I still stand behind our 2 perfectly good goals, and anyone saying different is a total clown. I don’t care if it’s the referee, VAR or the EPL. Clowns, the lot of them. As far as I’m concerned, Jose has already scored for the Wolves; the lad was robbed.
So same again boys. Results breed confidence, which in turn brings more results. For that reason, I will always play the best team to get the result. Once the result is looking secure, then experiment. Not before.
Besides, I’m not sure what everyone still needs to see regarding MGW, etc. We’ve already seen it. If Wolves want to move into the top 6 to stay, they’re not the answer. We need much better. Move on.
Let’s go Wanderers. Let’s finish strong.
I don’t care who wears our famous colors tomorrow, I will support them.
I feel no pity for Sheffield, if they can’t run with the big dogs, tuff.
This will be our biggest win of the season, 5-1 deffo on the cards.
I am just pissed off the kick off has been put back, and now I have to watch on poxy hesgoal.
I’m with Stilton on the Royalty thing.
Haven’t you been told about your spelling, Olive?
BBC radio 5 live this morning based by Windsor Castle. In 40 minutes worth of discussion about HRH I heard the word ‘extraordinary ‘ said at least 8 times. To me finding a vaccine for polio or covid is extraordinary. Walking on the moon or inventing a space craft that will take close up photos of Pluto is extraordinary. Performing micro surgery on a brain tumour and saving someone’s life is extraordinary. Going to work 5 days a week year on year for 55 years is extraordinary. Maybe it is just me. But thanks for the support Clive.
Need to field our strongest team of what is left now we are down to the bear bones, and get a comfortable 3pts to breach the 40pts mark.
I for one would now like to see Fabio start as he has to be one for the future, whilst Jose will be sent back home when the season is over.
Up to this season we were more than fortunate with few injuries, this year it has come back to bite us, and the bench is threadbare. Huge need for additions in the summenr.
Another tight win I suspect (hope!).
We’ll surely play better than we did against Fulham, let’s hope we can finally put in an attacking performance where we get it all together and score four.
We should play the strongest team possible with a view to getting as many points as possible until we are 100% safe.
Recent history says we will struggle, as usual against a team at the bottom of the table so expecting another miserably poor performance from which we might get a win 1 – 0
Big shoutout to the Women’s team for their game against Blackburn in the FA Cup, an exceptional performance so far so let’s hope they can continue with their winning streak.
Absolutely Kiwi. I’ve watched the last two games against opposition from the league above and they played brilliantly. Especially against Watford who had only conceded six goals all season and we stuck four past ’em.
Blackburn are two divisions above us though, so will be a different proposition completely. I’m pretty confident though that our ladies can do the biz.
Up the girls or is that a misogynist statement?
OK will just go back to hating all things about Sandwell Town oh no I am a Sandwellist.
Strongest team then …but what is it?
I’d go MGW and the Young Prince starting with Saiss too
Still still predicting 50 points which is delivered by winning the next 4 games
Totally bummed for Neto…. let’s hope Podence stays uninsured
Meantime we haven’t coughed up a penalty for a while .. so no clean sheet
OODCL
“Totally bummed for Neto”? …..Wow, that is some personal sacrifice for an injured player. I thought I was committed when I made a generous donation to the Raul banner when he fractured his skill. You are on a different level my friend. I’ve arranged for a wolves branded cushion to be sent from the club shop to aid your recovery and let’s hope the squad stays fit for the rest of the season.
Brilliant SC-and MW forecasts no clean sheets!
Uninjured…hopefully not uninsured
We should be aiming for 9th place, nothing less.
Can’t understand those wanting the season to end as I want it to go on and on as our long term injured are unlikely to be back until 2022!
Hopefully no sloppy giveaway goals today.
Another clean sheet and a late strike to seal the points.
Someone in the Spar shop down Gornal said “Def Leppard are from Sheffield”. I said “I know. It’s a shame isn’t it. I wonder why the leopards in Sheffield are deaf? Perhaps it’s the noise from the traffic or something”. Come to think of it, every time I have been to Sheffield I have never actually seen a leopard walking down the street by the crucible. I think if I did I would leg it rather quickly. And the fact that is is deaf would be worse because if you told it to go away it wouldn’t hear you. I saw a rabbit in Stafford once but unlike a leopard it’s hardly going bite your f**ckin head off . I think if I was a leopard who was deaf in Sheffield I would seek medical attention immediately, you might only need some ear drops or something. So on to tonight and there will be nothing fearsome out there as the deflated Blades limp to relegation against an Adama inspired WWFC. Boosted by his Fulham heroics he adds another, together with 2 from Fabio and a Saiss header. WWFC romp home 4-0. After the game Nuno said ” Last time I was in Sheffield I didn’t see any leopards but I did see a Basking Shark. There are all sorts of wildlife around if you look closely enough”. Jeff Shi said ” I have had a chat with the Chinese communist party and they are happy for us to continue our investment as long as we don’t sign any leopards or basking sharks, which would be a bit silly really”. WWFC 4 BLADES 0.
Lol. Always makes me chuckle cheese – Random and funny
Great read as usual COD.
Made me chuckle.
I think we will see our strongest team to start. Pretty much as Thomas spelled out in his article. We need to win to maintain our momentum, such as it is, and build confidence within our depleted squad.
Nuno, like the rest of us, is working for the boss. We all want Fosun to open up the chequebook but football is a business and they are businessmen. They will have much to consider. The large loss of revenue from no fans for the past year. The possibility that similar disruption will continue into the future. Losses from the pandemic’s effects elsewhere in the group. The loss of many of our key players to injury has only made their choices more difficult.
So I would imagine they would feel that every penny will count in trying to balance the books. The best way to boost income at the moment is to finish higher up the league. £2mill for every place higher. Not to be sneezed at. So as I said, Nuno will be required to finish as high as possible to secure a bigger transfer budget. As much as we, and he perhaps, would like to blood the youngsters, I fear financial considerations may win out and they’ll be restricted to cameos and second halves when we’re comfortable.
But hey, Fosun pay the piper so they call the tune. And I’m fine with that.
Boly’s back.
Nice 3 points from this one then bring the kids on for the remaining games.
Wolves to win 2 v 1
That’s a heck of a lot of red cards!
And we think we’ve had a bad season!! How does anyone fancy watching 4 wins and 2 draws in 31 games? At least we got some sort of result in over half our games. Personally I feel sorry for SU and their fans. They’ve shown themselves to be capable and hard working without it really ever happening for them. And Chris Wilder always seemed to be a decent manager.
This is a game we should expect to win, but in this weirdest of all seasons I don’t think any team can be entirely confident that the expected will happen. So, I’ve decided to go with what should happen, but in the knowledge that it probably won’t.
COYW
CET
Regardless of injuries, if we can’t beat this lot we might as well pack up. Why not throw MGW or Fabio in? Might be the spark we need to liven us up.
Gibbs-White only made that nice flick because he fell down.
You know, he is exhibit #1 which Nuno should be looking at to show that having the best technical skills is not the end-all and the be-all when it comes to football players.
Nuno’s obsession with technical skills will see us selling some very good and productive players, like Rafa Mir.
I’m sure it is obvious to everyone but Nuno that the ability to “see a pass” is in no way connected to technical skills and offensive-positioned players should be judged more on those “vision” skills, and scoring skills, than their ability to play keepy-uppy or whatever reference he uses to judge their technical abilities.
(Note: these are just my humble opinions and not necessarily those of this website)
I. surprised MGW is still with us. I’ve never seen anything to impress in all the years he’s been persevered with.
Oh how the optimism of that first 0-2 at Bramhall Lane has been kicked out of us. Try as I might to raise anything but limp hopes for this game and it still leaves me feeling deflated. The Blades will still view us a an opportunity to retain some pride. We are flattering to deceive but maybe once again a flash of brilliance will get us over the line.
I think Nuno should start with his best ten players and include one of the fringe players at the start. Then after 60 minutes, and depending on the score, bring on up to 3 more fringe players! Points are very important, but so is blooding the youngsters.
We should win this one but who knows.
Tossing up whether to get up at 5am on a Sunday morning to watch the game but am sure I will.
Would love to see Vitinha start and see if he can reproduce his international form.
I think Thomas has got the starting 11 nailed, as much as I would like to see more of Silva and Vitinha.
We need a tidy Wolves performance, without letting Blades enjoy possession. Jose surely deserves a goal.
I’m fairly positive about this one. Dangerous, I know!
Hope the lads are up for this and not thinking about euro’s/holidays
He seems to have selected the best eleven available. Jose to finally get off the mark after that travesty last v Fulham.
Wolves to win….just.
Only been able to watch the last 5 mins of the first half and the Sky commentators are already DOING MY HEAD IN!!! Just saying.
What a boring, boring team we have become under Nuno. As the sky commentators pointed out, failing to score in the first half 76 times out of 107 games in the PL tells it s own story of an overly cautious defence minded coach who has no real idea how to attack with intent. Yes, Nuno deserves the summer to try and sort it out, we owe him that , but patience is surely wearing thin amongst the majority of fans. We are playing a team that has lost 25 of 31 games this season, yes, 25!!!! And yet they’ve probably had the easiest ride they have had all season. If Nuno talks about needing to learn and improve at the end of the game I think I will throw something at the TV- he needs to start practicing what he preaches.
Still managed two 7th placed finishes though during that boring time.
I agree! Another boring first half! Much too defensive. We live in hope for the second half.
What was boring, boring was the Sky commentators whining on and on. I’m never bored watching Wolves. I care too much for that.
Rewind 5 years and now cast judgement.
Some people have extremely short memories
And some people have extremely low expectations.
I remember 4 consecutive 0-0 home draws under Kenny Jackett as we clawed our way to safety. If you think this is shit……
Spot on cheesey
And I remember us winning 3 titles in the 50s. What’s your point? We’ve played rubbish but it could be even worse? Why keep looking backwards to mitigate what is clearly a team that has performed pretty poorly through much of the season. I’ve consistently recognised what Nuno and this team has achieved but they are not beyond criticism. Poor performances are poor performances and should be recognised for what they are not swept under the carpet.
No. The team is not beyond criticism. I accept that. But 41 points from 32 games in the Prem is no mean achievement. I accept we haven’t been easy on the eye. We are not a great watch. But there are different ways of getting points on the board. Take it easy mate. Wolves ay we.
Fair points. I guess it’s where your expectations lie. If I wear my suffering wolves fan of nearly 50 years hat, your perspective is spot on. However, if I wear my fosun hat of trying to make us a force in the premier league and Europe then this season has fallen well short.
Ok mate. No worries. I know it has been a disappointing season. Not really lived up to expectations BUT. Back next season ay we!
Jose cuts a lonely figure in the stands.
He works really hard for the team
I really like the fella
3 points to give us 41. Kids should play now whilst we look for new players to bring in.
So that is 41 points from 32 games. Six games to go. Despite the excessive moaning and whingeing at times on all sorts of forums this is yet another great accomplishment for our team. A club of our size. A club still finding our feet in the Premier league. A fourth consecutive season in the highest league for the first time in 40 odd years. Quit the moaning and groaning. Stay humble. Celebrate grinding two wins out against Fulham and Sheffield Utd. No win in the premier league is easy.
