Different teams present different challenges in this league, which is why you can never be sure about the result from one game to the next.
In Fulham and Cardiff, you couldn’t play two more contrasting sides so it’s pleasing that Wolves found a way to come out on top against both.
You look at the league table, our recent form and generally what’s been going on at the City Ground this season and you’d fancy us to make it five wins in five.
But the Championship rarely pans out like that and I expect Forest to provide a similarly stern test.
Forest
Admittedly, I know little about this current Forest outfit but they’ve got some useful individuals and a manager who seems to know what he’s doing.
That usually gets you most of the way there in this league, which is why I expect them to (just about) avoid relegation and come back stronger next time.
But Mark Warburton need only look at the table to know there isn’t much margin for error with just seven games to go.
They’re just two places and two points above the bottom three and have only managed two wins in their last ten matches.
Gutsy draws against Derby and Preston will have helped instill belief but their run-in isn’t too favourable so pressure is building.
Wolves
If he can name the same team again I think Paul Lambert should do just that. Why mess with the winning formula?

I’d put Ikeme back in if he’s fit and ready, but it’s as you were with the outfield personnel.
My gut instinct is he won’t be able to resist giving the likes of Bodvarsson, Dicko and Saville a run out, but he leaves himself open for criticism if the result then doesn’t go our way.
One more win should see us safe (looking at the remaining fixtures for everyone else) and this is as good a chance as any to get it, so we shouldn’t be saving legs just yet.
Andy Lonergan
Predictions
Got to be confident after four straight wins. Forest have the second worst away record in the league too. Only Rotherham have amassed less points.
Most bookies have us at a comfortable 5/6 for the win compared to Forest’s 10/3. If you’re confident and fancy a punt you may want to check out sites like Bonus Codes to browse the major free bet offers beforehand.
I think there’s lots of goals and creativity in this Wolves squad so even allowing for a new manager bounce, I expect us to do enough to keep this run going.
2-1.
Up The Wolves!

I see us keeping a clean sheet in this one.
Forecasting a win Brompto? Unusual for you.
I predicted a draw v Cardiff, a loss at Fulham, and a loss at Brentford. Got all them badly wrong. Prior to that I Got Rotherham bang on, Ipswich wrong, and Reading, Brum and Wigan correct.
So with my lacklustre predictions. I thought I best start getting some points in the bag. Mind you it was my nine (yes NINE) predictions of 5-1 that has stopped me being on the top of the Predictions League, so I blame Clive for letting me copy him lol
I am now expecting some incoming comments lol
From moi?
Perish the thought, Vimto, I am saving them all up for the Ball!!
Lol. Nice one mate. Have you managed to decide on your meal choice yet. I have only had 3 people select their menu to date and I need to get this in to Sat at APV by middle of month.
Cheers mate, looking forward to the bash, this is going to be a big one I think.
Hey 1st time I’ve been the 1st to comment. I expect Warburton who’s not as clever as some think he is, mostly Warburton, will have Forest well organized so us fans will have to be patient. But expect Wolves to win.
OK Brompton’s fingers are quicker than mine
Confidence back so let’s smash them 4-0. Wouldn’t be surprised if we lose though base on past history, going into winnable games on the back of a good run and coming unstuck.
Home win.
A win, a very palpable win!
The same score as Saturday will do me.
I expect a few goals in this one and we get rid of one tosspot manager on Saturday and ‘welcome’ another git tomorrow in Warburton. I posted at the end of the last thread WARXIT and this also applies to Warburton ‘The act of propelling a pompous cockney git out of Wolverhampton. Usually enacted with the stern application of a large Doc Marten boot to the arse’. His demeanour at Brentford after we beat them was very ungracious. Expect more of the same from him tomorrow. So a win and this will almost certainly make us safe for the season. 3-2.
Perennial sore loser number 2 arrives at the Mol. Cocky, unsporting and lacking respect…..Wanky Warburton.
It’s Tuesday morning here so by 10pm tonight I’ll know the score and be “bang on with my prediction”….alas can’t wait that long in case Wifi disappears.
I’m going for a tough but pleasing win…..
Twixo – Eileen was an anagram of Lilian by the way. No? Come On Eileen. She’s the sort who shouldn’t live near a cliff. Eileen Dover? Nurse, nurse!
I’d better get her rechristened with 3 “e’s” in the first name…!!!
They do have some good players at Forest and I can’t really understand why they seem to be struggling quite so much. Ross McCormack not fit it seems, so that should help our cause, although like previous posters I can only see this going one way (fatal I know).
Same team will do for me. Kemes is still out so I guess we’ll see Lonergan between the sticks again, but I have less problem with that than many on here.
COYW
Hopefully the lads can get us over the line tonight, so that we can more or less concentrate on rebuilding in the summer for a push towards the Prem.
Sorry, Wolfstroker, but I can’t share your confidence in Lonergan, although his distribution is far superior to Ikeme’s.
COMBs!
Forgot the score!
Same as Wolfstroker.
UTW!
Absolutely agree . The bloke is a grade one prick ! Hope we stuff them , not because I dislike Forest but because I don’t like him !
Up the wolves
Am sure PL will keep the same team as Saturday though I hope Ikeme is fit and if not that Burgoyne plays rather than Flappy Lonergan. No doubt love child Saville will get a run out at some point. I went to the City Ground in December when we easily beat them and hoping for another good win.
Will be my record breaking 7th consecutive game. So far 4 wins and a draw and just the one narrow reverse.
Front foot lads from the off.
Be interested to see Assombalonga who, if we don’t get Tammy Abraham, is the sort of striker I’d like us to be signing in the Summer.
OODCL
we seem to be getting consistently good, so it’s 3 nil again for me.
Hello, Mrs Warburton here. I’d like to say thanks to Lon Chaney look-alike Larry, who has allowed me to use his blog to say I wish you’d stop picking on my little lad, he’s lovely when you get to know him and always has a good word for the wolves………….What AM I SAYING!, that little swine hasn’t been to see me for months….AND he didn’t get me a mothers day card, OR birthday card and as for flowers, I don’t think the tight fisted little sod knows what the shop looks like, so do me a favour and stuff the Forrest 5-0! that’ll show the mean, cynical, mendacious little sod what for. I always said the best of him went down me thigh, I did….
Okay that’s enough now Mrs W. I think I’ll wind her prediction in a bit. Still a win though!! May this fabulous run continue!!
Looking forward to another 3pts and another good performance.
I forecasted a 1-0 defeat on Saturday and I am continuing on that theme of reverse psychology. Works for me, so I see us playing good footy, Costa MOTM, Danny Batth playing out of his skin again and Forest winning 1-0.
I also have this huge dislike for all things Warburton, as such, I hope his next shit is a hedgehog.
Prove me wrong Lambo, prove me wrong, Iv’e got a group of Disabled Wrexham fans here as our guest for the game, don’t feckin embarrass me and our Disabled fans.
COMB’s
There was supposedly arranged a friendly yesterday were Zyro, Graham and Silvio featured. Do you know the result and the goalscorers?
You breader be wrong stu.
I predicted 4-2 on Saturday, and at the interval I was half way there. So I’ll try again just for the hell of it.
Win 4-1
No sweat
BOG
If mammary serves, the last time we won 5-1 was against Florist, we went top, never relinquished top spot, and won the second division under McDickwadhead.
Now we probably wont win the second division this season, but we can still stuff Tom Hanks 5-1 again.
( Run, florist, run, get it??)
This Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA is frickin’ gooood!!
Easy three points termorra, then off to BT at the weekend.
Four and a bit wix to the Ball, cor weight!!
FOwb
Forest will be much improved from the City Ground match (not difficult), but so will Wolves…if we start with Saturday’s team (please, no Saville).
Wolves 2
Nottingham Forest 1
If Costa can keep coming up with moments of magic then I can’t see a Forest side already low on confidence stopping us.
Let’s keep the run going – Costa to score again to get the Prem managers (and Fosun?) salivating.
Well. I’d have had maximum points Saturday, if it hadn’t been for that Costa bloke!, scoring the way he did.
I stick with 2-1, and hope the same happens again!
Meanwhile, we had sour grapes off wanky warnock reported in the E&S; this time we’ll have sour grapes off wanky warburton
It’s about time Wolves repaid back loyal supporters – and none have been more loyal than Clive. So in support of Clive I too will predict – Nay, I demand a 5-1 win.!!! If we ever going to get a 5-1 scoreline, this game should be it.
Can’t believe all this hatred for Warburton, best sliced bread you can buy. Same starting 11 for me and a comfortable win with a couple of Toasties at half time.
Is Costa, Messi in disguise?
Colin dispatched on saturday with him stating he was “gonna drop his kegs” and he would never do any good on Catchphase as he cannot say what he sees… LMFAO
Now Mr wankbutton comes to town & should be dealt with in exactly the same way – Danny to get his hat-trick, Costa to take the piss again & Florist steeped in a relegation battle with them bluenoses
Next WWFC to catch Vile and be top dogs in this Chumpionshite
For me, I expect to get a hat-trick of correct scores with a stonking 5 win on the bounce
Come On U Wolvesssssssssssssssssss
I got it quite horribly wrong on Saturday. I said we’d draw- we won. I said batth shouldn’t play if williamson is fit- he did and scored two goals. I’d quite happily be wrong every week if it ment wolves win games so we’ll done Danny for Saturday. Good preview Thomas I agree with everything you’ve said there. Wolves should win tonight with confidence high and forest having such a poor away record but as we all know it doesn’t always work like that. Marshall and weissmen to score (excuse the spelling)
Will be a tough game they still need points but our confidence is up so ……….
Forest fighting the drop
Wolves on a good run means only one thing a draw!
Will always see this fixture as a (painful) reminder of Peter Knowles’ last match. 3-0 up at half time and cruising and finished hanging on desperately for 3-3.
Not going to happen again and I’m now thinking we will definitely be going to Brizzle as the form team of the Division
Not an original score line but its my expectation
Let’s put Warburton in the slicer, I hate thick sliced anyway, and he is one of the thickest most ignorant manager’s around.
As for team selection hope PL remembers the old saying “If it ain’t broke doe try and bloody fix it”
Only change should be Bourgyonne for Lonegran if Ikeme still not fit.
Close game I think but hopefully a win at the end
I only partly agreeing with the ‘no changes shouts’. Changes are often beneficial when there are short time between the matches. It’s nice to give the “first team” a break also and give the others a chance to play, like for instance Dicko. He will be very hungry and need to score a couple of goals to break into the first team again. I’m pretty sure the gaffer will ring some changes in this game. Perhaps Saiss and Price replaces Edwards and Evans.
Not having been at the Cardiff game I am very interested to know what the ‘touchline antics’, that Nelli Warnock was rattling on about, were.
Can anyone enlighten me?
The only “antics” I saw, and I sit right behind the dugouts, was when all the subs jumped out of the dugout when Costa scored his goal of the season. They whooped it up has we all did, but it was not directed at Colin, it was just celebration of a wonder goal. The man is a total Toss pot!
I think we are know what Colin is like before he got to Mol on Saturday he’d be whinging & moaning even if we’d been down to 7 men & they won 15:1 – big bell end….
I guess he was pissed off when the Ref and the Line’o’s all celebrated Costa wonder goal as they were so appreciative of being involved in the game that saw “that goal”
I’m sure I also saw Colin “having a word” with the ref after the game to complain he should have had 20 penalties and the Ref just laughed at him singing “Colin Wanker! You’re a wanker, you’re a wanker!”
If it wasn’t that then I’m unsure what he had to complain about AGAIN
Difficult to call. It could be argued that they have more to play for than us but . . . . . our confidence must be high so I’m going for five in a row.
Home ground “hoodoo” broken. Manager not tinkering with the team. New signings finally settling in.
We can’t lose.
Warburton got the best out of Saville at Brentford.
Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.
Go on, go on, say some more…
Assuming that Ikeme is not fit I would prefer to see Burgoyne in goal instead of Lonnie Donegan.
He came out to punch a ball on Saturday and missed it completely – Sunday League goalkeeping at best!!! Other than that we should have an unchanged side and a comfortable home win (Can’t believe I am actually writing this!!) Costa will terrorise them and add another £2m to his selling price.
Don’t think Iv got a single score correct this season so no silly stuff just a simple draw. Almost safe
The term “winning run” and Wolves in the same sentence is usually an oxymoron. Every winning run must come to an end, but not just yet for us.
The word oxymoron has made me think of moron. I wonder why. Because of Warburton (who is every bit as lovely as Warnock) this fixture is personal. They are both very effective in this division but they are also a couple of morons.
I hope Ikeme is fit as I’m not at all convinced that Lonergan should be ahead of Burgoyne in the pecking order. I’ll put Andy-Cap Lonergan’s nerves against Cardiff down to rustiness for now.
Here’s to Costa scoring another marvellous goal (and adding £1mil to his value). I got the score correct against Cardiff (3-1) but this time I reckon we are more than good enough for another trilogy but with a clean sheet. 3-0.
I got a feeling in me water it’s gonna be a big Dicko night tonight.
Come on lads!
Clean sheet and 2 goals for us should be the order of the day. We are on a very good and enjoyable run and given that we appear to have shaken off the hoodoo of playing at home, let’s shake off another of losing against relegation candidates.
Assombalonga and Zach Clough (why didn’t we sign him ?) apart I don’t see a great deal of talent in this Forest squad. Their midfield looks particularly lacking in quality. As for us, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some changes as PL may want to keep some of his better counter-attackers available for Bristol City. So possibly a game for Dicko and a couple of the kids, not to mention Saiss and/or Saville. Comfortable win.
Winnable game on paper, and based on form, so we’ll probably lose!
But sod it, I’ll predict a win. Come on you Wolves.
After Brian Clough I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Forest and hope they avoid relegation but obviously tonight I hope we get the three points. I’m not predicting an easy game as they are fighting for their lives although if we play as well as we can then the three points should be ours.
Their owner seems a bit of a loose cannon. Are Forest still under a transfer embargo? If you spend too much and break the rules and then don’t get promoted then you end up in bigger shite than you were before. There’s a lesson there for Fosun – don’t spend big just spend wise. Or both if possible!
I had to comment on this one as I hate the sh*t from down the road from here. My mum & dad in law,my brother in law, teachers & kids at my school,my neighbours and even the postman support the glory seeking, let’s all live in the past twa*ts !Please Wolves give me and Sue the bragging rights tomorrow please.Had a great day at the shitty ground with bedders in December. We are in Berlin so missing this fixture for the first time in years. Any updates via text would be greatly appreciated.
I will message you Ian. Do you use WhatsApp?
You got your wish come true Ian….bet you’re smiling right now..!
Mike, I am over the moon. Two games against the deadwood this season, two wins, six points, no goals conceded and they are now in a relegation dogfight. Good time to be a Wolves fan in Nottinghamshire.
Also, thank you to Dave and Stu for your texts while I was in Berlin last night, much appreciated.
A tight affair with both teams struggling to score
Same again please, come on my babies.
We are on a high but tonight will be brought back to earth. I have a feeling they will do us.
Prove me wrong, please
Front foot job again attack attack attack ..it’s such a shame our confidence and power wasn’t available many matches ago or we would all be getting excited now for the big time..
It’s a win for me..
I wouldn’t lol.
It’s all been said, another Wolves win,
If it ain’t broke why fix it? Play the same team & see if they can do it again. More points means further away from bottom 3 & that’s what I want right now.
Don’t see why we can’t continue our good run, its not like we are liable to trip up when all seems rosy????
I see we are going with the same team as on Saturday. Assombalonga will be a threat but we should still have enough to win.
Costa out. Injured in the warm up. Replaced by Nouha. Let’s hope it ain’t serious.
Oh pants, costa injured in the warm up, can I change my prediction? Lol.
Well, had I known that was going to happen I would have predicted :
Yes yes yes. Noah, noah noah, noah noah, noah Dicko. Get in.
Gibbs-White replacing Cav. No sign of Saville yet lol.
What ? ……. No Saville. Phew. Come on me babbies finish them off now
Happy as a happy thing feeling happy. Definitely safe now. Well done boys.
I agree, Steve, must be pretty safe now – but the odd point here or there can’t hurt.
On another matter, I’ve just posted our meal choices for 6 May on the Bloggers’ Ball blog.
Cheers mate.
Still in the playoff hunt!!
Never was going to happen this season. Nor next, as we will be champions, none of that play off shit lol.
69 points ain’t enough that’s if we win them all..
I thought there were 7 more games to go. That means a possible, but improbable, 72 points.
Yes Tim. 72 poins is the max we can get. That can squeeze you in play offs some years. Not sure it will be enough this time. And assuming we win all 7. One defeat and I think it is curtains. If we beat Brizzle Saturday and Blackburn lose we will need 1 more point to be mathematically certain. Bar a massive swing in goal difference. Onwards and upwards and let those Bluenose arseholes get sucked in to the bottom 3 !
I stand corrected 72 yep..so if the pack looses all their games……
16 points from a possible 18. Title-winning form! I forecast recently that we would go on such a run that we would end the season with regrets of what could have been. I’m sticking to that. Still, it will set us up nicely for next season. We now know what we’re capable of with Lambert and Fosun. Rumours a while back (16 points ago in fact!) of Lambert’s sacking in the summer must be unfounded now.
I think the loss of Costa last night would have been fatal a few matches ago. We are growing in confidence.
Workmanlike. Forest had a lot to play for and were determined not to give much away but we ground out a result. We won ugly. These were the games we were losing a while ago. I’m happy but if Bod had squared his chance my prediction would have been spot on. I hope we run away with it next year like Ash K seems to be with the prediction league this year. Consistent performances the key!
