If Wolves can keep getting the job done at Molineux, any point gained on the road can be considered a bonus.
With Reading, Burton, Hull, Blues and Sheffield Wednesday still to pay a visit after tomorrow’s game against Norwich, victory in all the above matches against midtable or lower opposition would give us 90 points.
That doesn’t include the Derby match either.
If favourable fixtures and a giant head start aren’t enough to instil confidence, I still think there’s a good level of consistency in the performances.
Norwich
Thanks to Canaries fan Rob from City of Yellows for sending over the following perspective from the away end:
When Wolves travelled to Carrow Road earlier in the season they were, and still are, a country mile the best side to play at the Carra.
The movement, the pace, the directness and the way Wanderers attacked in numbers helped to produce a comfortable 2-0 win. City were still finding their way under new manager Daniel Farke with a new playing style and many new recruits.
The philosophy of Farke is starting to have an impact with the playing style often featuring very slow build up with three at the back, two holding midfielders, Jame Maddison and Josh Murphy roaming attacking midfielders and Nélson Oliveria leading the line.
Another trait of City is that as the game progresses, the team get stronger – thanks to double training sessions and lots of running. So if City can keep the game level for as long as possible, a late winner (or equaliser) may be on the cards.
A goal a game is currently the trend, so unless Wolves can conjure up the same performance as earlier in the season, expect a 0-0 or a 1-0 which could go either way.
Best wishes for the remainder of the season and your assault on the Premier League.
Betting
Wolves are resounding 8/13 favourites to come out victorious according to William Hill. The draw is 13/5 and Norwich are 5/1. To get the best return on your stake visit Topbettingsites.com for the latest offers and bonus bets.
Wolves
I might be in the minority but I’d give Benik Afobe a start tomorrow:

There have already been murmurs of discontent about a lack of goals, but come on guys, he’s only had three appearances off the bench. It’s not enough to make a fair assessment.
Yes, a few decent openings have come and gone in those cameos, but at least he’s getting the chances. We need to see what he can do from the start before being able to accurately assess whether or not he can improve this side.
Elsewhere, it’s difficult to see any obvious changes, unless of course Nuno feels Saiss should get back in or Bonatini is a better option in attack.
Predictions
Norwich are decent on their travels, but they don’t score many home or away, which doesn’t bode well against the highest scorers in the league.
That said, they gave Arsenal and Chelsea a real run for their money in the cup competitions so have form for stepping it up against better opposition.
I like Daniel Farke as a coach and I really like James Maddison (hint, hint Fosun), but hopefully Wolves have enough to nullify their threat.
3-1.
Up The Wolves!

I don’t mind Afobe getting a start, I just can’t see it yet , dropping costa would be a bit harsh too after his couple of goals, unless Nuno feels its a good idea to rest a couple of lads with the additional midweek game! I’d rather keep pushing on with an unchanged team until 90 points are in the bag then play the squad
As ever an early goal should be enough to get something from the game as they don’t usually score 2 , I’m feeling confident
Utw
Hopefully first to comment, so a prediction this time.
Went to the away leg and Wolves were awesome.
We are approaching the squeaky bum part of the season, everyone expects Wolves to falter but this year it won’t happen another three points to the total.
Afobe to get off the mark with an hatrick.
Bugger marney beat me too it, this edit is quite good.
The only game that I have ever been to at Molineux was a 2-1 loss to Norwich in October ’16.
Was a fantastic night but unfortunately a bad result. Hopefully this game will be different.
Would like to see Saiss start if he is fit and unlike Thomas wouldn’t change the front 3.
Hope to see an improvement after our last game. Playing well for 90 minutes will be good.
Cannot see Norwich taking anything from this, but consider it not to be a walkover so:
Thomas,
I thought we were playing tomorrow, not tonight.
Good spot matey. Just as well I’ve got my own edit button hey?
I like it. Just scrolled up and had a chuckle. Those not spotting it will not know what we are on about now. Take care mate, and hope to see you sometime soon.
It’s amazing what old age does to the mind Steve.
I didn’t see Thomas making the alleged mistake, you must have imagined it.
Do you want your hot milk and slippers now or after your bed bath?
After my bed bath please ……. if undertaken by Sue!!!!
Oooops …….. I would put a red card on here but ……. no photo option!!
I am thinking a win for this one, hopefully our strikers get back to scoring ways (if they get on! ). Doesn’t seem right to drop either of Costa , Cav or Jota for Afobe or Bonatini based on the last couple of performances, start off as before and see where we are at at 50 minute mark . agree that Saiss back playing would be a plus
Man its so good to have selection problems like this !
coyw
Didn’t think they looked much against Ipswich on Saturday. Should cruise to a home win I reckon.
Important to win as we have a few tricky games after this one.
Really looking forward to this game as due to work we can’t do night matches unless it is half term in Nottinghamshire schools – which it is. This is only our third night match this season but the other two were away at Southampton and Manchester City so if it is half as good as those games we will be well happy. Setting off quite early as we plan to spend the day in Wolverhampton. Quite into The Sunbeam pub near the station at the minute, great food at very decent prices, so that will be lunch sorted. Also going to try the NBB but tbh, is it just me or is the place too small or just don’t have enough staff as you don’t half struggle to get to the bar and get served. The old Terrace bar used to seem bigger and better but then we didn’t get the crowds that we get now. Meeting up with friends at the hotel who are Norwich fans but I think they might just be travelling home on Thursday a little bit disappointed. Well into double figures of games attended this season and we have only seen the boys lose once – and that had to be against the shit from our way ! I think there is something special about Molineux under the floodlights so roll on Wednesday night. We will be just too strong for the canaries.
Upwards and onwards because this IS the year 🙂
You have seen them lose twice Ian, as we did not get past Man City. I know, you were talking about league games, I am just being pedantic.
A bit jealous really with you getting to these games as my next one is not until 30th March at ‘Boro. Will be keeping an eye out though whilst I am “topping up” my tan in Goa!
Agreed Steve BUT, I know we lost eventually on penalties but if you put a bet on it only counts up until the 90 minutes and not extra time and penalties so I am going with that, and thank you for not mentioning THAT other team ! Have a great holiday mate and we will catch up with you again soon.
Newark, see you in the NBB, you know where we stand and I will sort the beer. The mighty Wolves to win 3-1.
Sounds good to me mate, hopefully see you in there.
I would start Saiss and Afobe instead of N’Diaye and Costa personally but Nuno is the king so whatever team he picks is fine by me.
Will be there tomorrow night – anyone going who buys a programme look out for my grandson Stanley’s picture in the ‘fan zone’ section.
When we played them before it was Halloween and just after the 1-2 loss at QPR so Norwich away was the start of our superb run that, so far, is just one defeat in 18 games.
Think we will win but it won’t be a cake-walk and I expect Norwich to be half decent. Fortunately we are fully decent!
OODCL
I watched the Bully interview part 2 with Nathan Judah the other day and one of the questions was, “ who would you like to have round to your house for a meal?”
He said, “Benik Afobe”, because he wants to sit down with the guy and tell him to stop trying so hard for that elusive first goal as it will come and then he’ll be off on a scoring spree.
Since he finished Iv’e not been a huge fan of Bully, but listening to him talk, there lies a bloke that knows what he’s talking about. He’s been there, done it, got the T-shirt and was as loyal as feck, so I prefer to listen to him than the doom merchants on the other blogs I read. I must say though, even before listening the interview I felt Afobe will come good, maybe this is his level, maybe he won’t make the PL, but at the moment he’s in this league and will score goals I’m sure.
Anyway, that’s a side issue,
Wolves 2-0 Norwich for me, also the bonus of seeing James Maddison perform tomorrow excites me, rumours are awash with him wanted by many clubs including us. So, I look forwards to watching the lad.
Let’s all say a prayer for Twix and the lovely Lilian, the prospect of 3 1/2” of rain must be horrific, I believe they are expecting winds to reach 8 – 10 MPH with litter being blown all over the garden.
Batten down the hatches Twix’s, I don’t want to have go to Cardiff without you guys, but then again youv’e already paid for the hotel so I can sell it off and get some beer money.
COMBambinos….
Stu,
Don’t want to cash in on misfortune but a deal my be possible.
Keep me posted…….
Any team that has won at Sheff Utd, Middlesboro’ and Bristol City shouldn’t be written off, especially as they have seemingly now adapted to their managers preferred style. Only 1 defeat in the last 8 suggest they are in some sort of form so I reckon this won’t be any stroll in the park. Going for a draw.
This would be a good game to make some changes, against a team whose season is over.lt seems to me that teams around us up their game,by pressing high and trying to stop our momentum. We are still vulnerable to high crosses into the box. Also,we haven’t found a solution to teams who park the bus.So for this match l would play 3,5,2 dropping Jota and Costa for Bonatini and Afobe. In short l would like Nes to show how great he is by making tweaks,to get closer to perfection.
Dropping Jota? He’s Nunos No 1 and the only forward with guile, pace, bouncebackability, trickery and shooting boots on the left and right feet. Why would you?
Find it odd that people would be prepared to change the format of a successful team to accomodate Afobe.
He was good for us a couple of seasons back but hardly set the premiership alight.
I think that if Bonatini had come on and had the chances Afobe had against Preston, we would have won.
Certainly changing the starting eleven is unnecessary.
Another win….
To be honest I’m kind of looking ahead to Fulham. That’s not being complacent about this game it’s just I think we could do with heading down to craven cottage on the back of a win. Anything less and it might deflate everyone a bit as everyone’s expecting this to be an easy 3 points. I think it’s a bit harsh to drop Costa after his first consistent run after returning from injury and two goals in the last two. I’ll back us to get the job done whoever gets the nod. Douglas and Costa with the goals
Remember Kevin Keelan making a save, and knocking the goals over as he hit the post?
I do.
He got the biggest cheer of the day from the North Bank when he got up and carried on.
Sad really to think that is my overriding memory of Norwich City.
Should be an easy three points tomorrow, but all of these should be’s are playing out of their skins against us, as their seasons are over, and they think they are Wigan!
Nuno will have the boys up for this, especially as Preston will do us a favor tonight and stuff Brucies babies.
As previously stated, Twixxo, 3 1/2 inches is a big number, in your house!!!
FOwb
There speaks a man who has obviously never heard the legendary ‘Derek & Clive’ recordings by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore as Narwich City get a whole skit all to themselves. If memory serves correctly it was Peter Cook speaking and it went something like this; “Norwich? I f****** hate Norwich. Bunch of f****** c****. Bunch of f****** b*******, they are. What f****** good are they to any f****** body? C**** the whole f****** lot of them”.
Perhaps the language was a bit too blue for your delicate ears Clive?
I’ll settle for any changes to the starting 11 that Nuno thinks right as we have another tough game on Saturday. Sorry, but I’m still not impressed with Afobe and would definitely prefer Bonatini back in the starting 11 before him. It’s going to be a difficult game from what I’ve seen of Norwich recently but I can’t not predict a win with the form we are in. With a bit of luck it might even convince Madison about where he should be playing next season.
I’m with you Thomas on the Maddison lad. He looks a real player to me.
I also agree with you and Bedford that it would be a good shout to give Benik Afobe a start.
It’s impossible to assess the boy if he only gets 15 minutes or so a game. He’s got to be given a fair suck of the sauce bottle or there’s no point loaning him until the end of the season.
He’s warmed enough subs benches for Bournemouth, we don’t need him to warm ours thanks very much. Give him a good run out and then, if he doesn’t fire, bring on Costa to tie them in knots.
Not an easy game but I forecast a win.
This will be the Douglas and Doherty show tomorrow tonight…..same team to start….Afobe on when we are 3 up…. I see both wing backs scoring and providing assists for Boly (again) and Afobe….. the clouds are now misting over again ….. a PNE victory in Brum tonight do I see?
I can still see it being fairly tight, but back us for a win.
Sorry bardwolf , just lucky timing, I’ll hold off a couple of hours next time
Are you from Stratford btw ( the bard n all ) ?
Close, on the outskirts but well away from the G&T brigade.
Post whenever you can I was only joking.
We should be expecting to win games against teams like Norwich at Molineux if we have aspirations of doing well in the Premier League so why do I still have nagging doubts that we will come unstuck ? Perhaps it’s because I have supported them for so long and have been disappointed on too many occasions. We play some lovely football under Nuno so why do I keep thinking the bubble will burst ? Previous years I have not wanted to go up as I knew the side was not good enough to stay there, but this season I think they are, so I say, COME ON YOU WOLVES, prove this old pessimist wrong.
I’m struggling with this one, along with My push for the Prediction League title which has also gone the way of Villa and Derby.
So, what’ll it be, I wonder? I Know that I’d definitely bring Bonnatini back cos (and this will sound like a case for the men in white coats) I feel the three musketeers currently holding the fort can sometimes be a bit same(y).
I mean, it’s no sitiation to moan about and when running free they can destroy a team…but I like how Bonnatini links the middle and attack.
It’s a bit like having to chose one of two keys that open doors to either Penelope Cruise or Halle Berry when both of em are gagging for it…!
All I can say is, I’m glad it’s Nuno’s problem.
Oh well, in for a penny!
UTW
Every game this season is so much fun to watch. Jota x2 to get back on the scoresheet.
This one’s a must-win.
Go Wolves !
A nice win to keep our lead would be great, but I fear this and Fulham on Saturday could both be draws. However I’ll go for a tight 1-0 victory on Wednesday just because the points would be nice, we’re at home and Norwich will come and try and play football which is our strength. Lets hope Mr Maddison has an off day and that one of our front 3 is on fire much like Will Grigg, and if he scores goals like that defences will surely be concerned……..
oh and Thomas the edit feature is excellent, but can we add in the score predictions as well, or is that too difficult ???
Going for a win Benik and Saiss to start would not hurt to give Ruddy a rest, looking forward to this one first night game in two years.
We spoke to Saiss outside the ground when we played QPR to be honest he seemed a little bit down but nice guy.
Wolves Aye We
Dorset, I know in comparison with the rest of the squad, Ruddy’s a lot older but I think he has plenty of rest…generally between 3:00 and 4:45 Saturday’s.
Larry, great reply should l say change Ruddy as he may be bored.
ha ha, yeah, I think part of Coady’s job is to run back and give him a nudge every half hour or so!
Will be there whispering in the Billy Quiet as usual – we count as fans also! – and looking for a comfortable win and further progress to the Premier League.
Forecast doesn’t look too bad so I think I’ll drive up rather than try to stream it at home. Anyone South Londoners who need a ride let me know 😛
I really don’t know about this one. Norwich have the potential to thump us, and they won’t be as naiive as QPR in terms of gifting us space by playing a high line. When the ball bobbles around our penalty box we still have the potential to cock up so hopefully Nuno has been working on this.
I expect a really open, entertaining battle with us finishing on top.
Similar game to Brentford at home. Norwich a side who like to pass it around but we will overcome. The difference this time the goals will come in the first 45 not the second
Good luck to Benik if he plays, but I still believe Bonatini links up better with Jota and Cavaleiro – etc.
I expect Norwich will give us a good game, but I’m optimistic we still have the quality to get the win, if only we’re more clinical at the end of that amazing movement.
It’s the part of the season where I don’t really care how we play as long as we win it’s just points end of the day
And points for me in the prediction league
I was going for a narrow win but changed to a score draw again
Having managed to predict correctly the last two games, I am going for a hat-rick in the prediction league !! Good grief I hear you say, how does this man do it?! Well, after my poor early season predictions I now spend a great deal of time with stats and computing the various scenarios on my super computer, and well…………nah it’s just guesswork 🙂
So tomorrow and Norwich then. Having watched them v Ipswich at the weekend I did not see a lot to cause me concern. Saying that they do have Oliveria up front and Maddison, who is a class above most players in this division.
As for Wolves, I don’t think Nuno will change anything. I was thinking that maybe Vinagre might come in for Douglas, who I thought looked a little jaded v Preston, but Vinagre played last night for the U23’s. So I think it will be the same team again.
A win it is, but only just.
Onwards we march.
🙂
Norwich inconsistent this season …as I’m local the thoughts are that they can beat anyone and loose to anyone.
Dangerous…
But we are quality this is Afobe s sort of match I would like him to start bring on Costa later if he bombs…
So Delia ..let’s be having you..
not quite so biblical as it sounds though..
3 points a must
I feel Benik, who has hardly played for Bournemouth, needs a lot more minutes on the pitch with his new team mates to get fully up to speed. He was a class act first time here and I don’t think he will have lost the scoring gift. Match sharpness, they call it. It’s taken Helder months to get it back and we need to give Benik time. A goal would do him the world of good.
As for the game, we seem to prefer teams who play proper football. I would certainly put Norwich in that category, to their credit, and they have some good players in their squad. Not enough good players though, to put one over our heroes. I can see us giving one of our more attractive, effective, effusive, irrepressible, delectable and all round brill performances and romp home resounding winners.
Time to rest Diogo.
Ivan Leo Helder
No away support. An early goal would light the touchpaper.
Preston supporter for tonight only
Tommorow we will produce a masterclass against an improved side but not as improved as us
Good win.
We are getting ever closer to that finishing line. If Villa lose tonight they can only get to 98 points if they win every single game left after that. If we win tomorrow we are within 23 points. If we beat Villa they can only reach 95 points and we are within 17 points. Realistically Villa are not going to win 12 of 14. 88/90 points will probably be enough. Expect Delia to have a massive yellow blancmange thrust firmly in her face tomorrow night. WWFC 2 Naaarwhich 0.
Norwich are not a team of cloggers so I think we will see a game of football which can only be good for us. Think this will be a high scoring game with goals for both sides
The remaining home games are all must wins for Wolves as we will find it hard to pick up many points away from home from now on, especially with our current form. Can,t see any reason to make changes other than possibly Saiss for N’Diaye, don’t think Afobe has shown anything yet to warrant a start and would still prefer Bonatini.
Have to disagree re away games. I think we’ll pick up as many away as at home.
Nuno won’t chance his style of play for anyone in this league & all managers fear us.
Apart from the salivating rabid raw meat eating clog dancing first team coaches.
PS coaches are stretching it a little bit
Have to agree about the thugs (players and managers?) who continue to earn a living from football.
Val,
I’m with you. Norwich away was a good game only 2:0 but 4:0 wouldn’t have flattered us, but at least they weren’t Colin, Ian or Alex cloggers.
I agree completely with Thomas re Afobe, if he only gets 15 mins & no goals he’ll continue to be fekin useless, give him a game & maybe then we can assess his contribution.
Respect to Rob from City of Yellows, most opposition fans are jealous of our team/play this year, so nice to hear a footie fan that speaking the truth about our assult on the Chumpionship.
I have not entertained picking the team since Xmas as Nuno has got this covered & just know that our bench would probably be better than most other first teams in the Chump & our under 15’s better that Sandwell Town Taxi Dodgers
So another win tomorrow. A lucky point for VEEEEEEELA tonight & fek the gap they’ll need some Crampons to hold on to a play off place.
Oh and there’s gonna be a few goals too.
Agree about veeela Rick rack. They probably need to win six out of 13 just to make the play offs. MIND THE GAP POTATO HEAD.
Well said COD,
And that really is A BIG FAT YED
I can see the logic in starting Afobe as this would let him relax into the game just finding it difficult to make a case for leaving out one of the front three. Only change I would be Saiss in for N’Diaye. Still I think we win tomorrow as Norwich like to play football and we beat these teams.
Going for a routine 2-0 win here. I would be surprised neither by a large win nor a draw but find it hard to see a defeat. Still, this is football so who knows. Just hope today and Saturday we play to our full potential.
I do think we might be pleasantly surprised by BA if he can get over the hurdle of his first goal. His positional sense could put him in for a good many goals given our array of service providers.
Can also see HC making an increasing impression over the rest of the season, he seems to have got back the magic touch – getting though for his last goal for example.
COYW
So my readers will recall why I hate Norwich. Shared a house for a year with DICK FROM NORWICH.
Dick by name, Dick by nature and nauseatingly successful with girls. Success in that area was inevitably followed by a loud rendering of “On the ball City….”..
5- 1 wouldn’t be enough tomorrow.
Meantime perhaps old McCarthy can take a point off Cardiff? Why not….two dinosaurs clogging each other to a standstill.
Its a must win for Wanderers so go on give Afobe a start…but if no goals or assists after 55 mins its the hook. Then Bonatini can wreak havoc,
If Wolves was a car Id say the carb needs adjusting and may be a new air and oil filter just to give the engine a little bit of a service nothing major just a bit of a pick me up.
I think the season and especially the winter has clogged up the filters a bit. What im trying to says is may a bit of freshening up of the team is needed my be 1 or 2 Afobe to start, ! agree Costa should start he is getting back to his best but then who would you leave out…….I trust Nuno’s judgement to get the balance right.
I think Norwich will give us a game as has been said they can lift there game when they want to and we have had a couple of indifferent results and performances by our high standards but I still expect us to win by a narrow margin.
With you on most of what you say PF of The F, apart from Afobe starting. I’m not his biggest fan since his mega sulk and am still waiting for him to prove me wrong, although I guess he does need a bit more playing time.
Nuno will probably give the front three that started at Deepdale the nod.
Also hope that Mick and Clipboard can work some magic against Colin’s cloggers.
COMBs!
We should win
There should be lots of goals in an open game
We are well overdue a clean sheet as we let one past us last Saturday – shock, horror.
Back to winning ways and 3 points nearer to the sweet smell of success tonight.
Do task me why but I keep thinking that our bubble will burst and we’ll get to be like old times …struggling to win…
Thinking over and I’m convinced that we’ll do the business … Bonatini to start .. given that he had a decent game at Carrow Rd …
Torrential rain over and out……
aotearoa twix ,it ain’t called land of the long white cloud for nowt, ha , still beautiful though even in the rain I bet , hope you’re enjoying it , and relax , we only need to win one in every three from here so it’s plain sailing
Utw
Cheers Marney … it’s brightened up today (Thurs)…
Weather’s lovely here Twix. 🙂
Always nice where you are Steve…
It must be my sunny persona. 🙂
I’m a little worried about this game and I’m also concerned about having Molineux descended on by a plague of incests . Never the less .. think we should win
Portuhampton 1
Norwich 0
Not bothered who starts. Nuno can pick and chose as he like’s I don’t think it will make any difference to the final outcome.
We should have more than enough to win this one. May not be an easy win but it will be a win.
Wolves 2 Norwich 1 Wolves 2 Norwich 1
What Afobe needs is a start or at least a longer stint on the pitch. He’s on for a limited time and the pressure on him to score in the little time he’s got must be enormous. That said, you could say the same thing about Bonatini, so what’s the answer? We don’t have any cup games left and every match is a cup final now. My answer is, wait till we are guaranteed promotion and then start Afobe and Bonatini in rotation. That will answer questions about who’s staying next season.
As for tonight I see a comfortable 2-0 win and Mick doing us a big favour…
Hoping we get back on track tonight.
I would like to see a start for Afobe, give him a chance & some decent game time. Don’t know who to leave out but I would like to get back to thumping teams & clean sheets.
If Ipswich can do us a favour this evening & we get 3 points I’ll have a happy household. Plus let’s face it who doesn’t want to see Warnock get stuffed?
COYW
Can’t wait to see Moxey’s face when we win tonight. Oh …………. he is not there anymore …….he’s been sacked!!!
Afobe has taken good positions and been on the end of a few crosses in his limited time on the pitch – something that Bonatini fails to do. I think that he is worth a start tonight to give him a fair crack at opening his account and have Helder on the bench.
Hoping for another convincing win before a tough game at Fulham on Saturday but have to stick to my ‘lucky’ prediction.
Hope we start fast and get an early goal which we have deserved to do in the last few games
Norwich don’t score many goals, but don’t concede many either. Difficult to predict which way it might go. The vitamin D is beginning to evaporate.
Wolves 3 – 0
Have a great evening bloggers – just departing Bedford with Bedford Wolf and Tim from Bromham. Quiz on the way up – sleep on the way back!

Changing the subject totally, no wait a minute, no I’m not, it’s right on call.
Just taken my Grandson to see “Early Man” at the cinema, it’s about Stone age man moving into Bronze age through the introductoion of “the Beautiful game”
Any, mum’s, dad’s, Grandma’s and Granddad’s out there take your little one’s to see it.
It’s a Wallace & Grommit style animation, but, It’s absolutely brilliant for young and old alike. Funniest kids film Iv’e seen since Despicable me 2.
So many references to the “the Brutish, inventing the Beautiful game but are Crap at it” all football based, but funny as feck.
Go see it, money really well spent, the trainer is even called Gooner and the team play in red and white and are playing Real Bronze.
🙂
Just leaving south Wales so a quick forecast from me.
I think you guys have to look at this methodically. Afobe should get game time when the coach thinks he is the best option.
Next year, Nuno will be dumping players who we have grown to love. It is a very tough game and he will be ruthless.
He will be the same way to the end of this season.
Afobe has to show that he has something to give that Bonatini and the others don’t have.
We can always buy a better striker in the summer if Afobe doesn’t seem to be the answer.
Oh yeah. Wolves 2 – 0 Norwich.
Just having a drink in the hotel and the Wolves team are here again. Surely they haven’t been here last night and all day as they must be bored shitless.Although they might be like coiled springs and ready to unleash themselves on Norwich.Place is like a prison with gates locked and security everywhere. Not great to be honest but according to the hotel staff it is to keep fans out !Might go down and have a fag with Nuno shortly.See some of you in a bit hopefully.
Didn’t put the score in the boxes!!!
Posting before my phone cuts me out.
I think Afobe might start and if he does I’m backing him to score at least one goal.
Happy with a point, but go for the jugular
To anyone still worried about FFP, this is from the BBC website just now:
Leicester City won the Championship in 2013-14. Leicester City will pay the Football League £3.1m after settling a Financial Fair Play (FFP) dispute from the 2013/14 season when the club won the Championship. The Foxes exceeded the permitted £8m loss when they won promotion. They posted a loss of £20.8m but said £13m of it was “allowable” as it included promotion and academy costs.
If we were making a £20M loss Fosun would pay FFP the fine as pocket change..who cares but going up.
Wolves side unchanged so no afobe despite the shouts
Glad Afobe isn’t starting. I want him champing at the bit. Signed for cover so that’s the way it should be. I won’t sing his name either, will do when he has done something. If he comes on, needs to keep his head up.
Fancy a Ruben masterclass tonight. Norwich play football too so hope we get a break from the clogging.
Here we go. Conceding late goals again, just like before and failing to capitalise on a lead. NEVER happened this season before now.
What has gone wrong i wonder. We are now on a slippery slope and will be lucky if we end up in play offs. Automatic promotion is not going to happen now. And we have Neves out for 2 games due to his 10th booking and Costa injured.
Going to stop following Wolves now. Always the same.
You don’t think you’re being a little fickle Brompto’.
Lol. This is not really a problem, but i am sure others will call it that. I was joking.
I am a tad concerned over Neves yellow card though, as I think he may be out for two games. Am also concerned about Costa coming off injured.
How did we play anyway?
Yeah, I figured you were jokin’ Steve.
Played pretty well generally, but under a lot of pressure second half. Missed some good chances too.
No chickens being counted in the Wolfstroker coop. 🙂
For …….Fock’s sake 90 + 3 ……….embarrassing……….should never have happened 2 points thrown away…!
All gone pear shaped ! Top players suspended, strange substitutions, the need to give Afobe a chance is changing the balance of attack. Only 9 points ahead now. OMG , we have Fulham next !
Every team in the top eight is feeling it now. Cardiff may look like the ghosts of Megson’s boingers but they will be feeling it too. In the blink of an eye everything seems suddenly a lot scarier. Just a few moments ago we thought we could give everyone a game to play them into form. Suddenly the squad seems tiny with no Price or Ronan. Just got to keep our nerve. A draw at Fulham will be a good next step.
Total utter disaster!
I’d falsely believed we’d left behind the days of chucking two goal leads away.
And Afobe does not fit in that team any more than Johnny Richards would now (at 60 odd). You gotta realise that his glory days at Wolves are over.
Feels like a defeat and we NEED to win at Fulham now.
Seriously pissed off. Ffs
I cannot understand Taking Cav off he has goal in him and creates, Ronan is all potential he is miles away from Cave……..sorry Nuno but first mistake this season…!
Sorry Paul,
Ronan is miles away from Cav, he’s playing at Portsmouth, that was MGW.
Sorry Stu I ment Gibbs-White for N’ Daiye what I was trying to say badly was taking off N’ Daiye, Cav was nuleing our effectiveness in midfield.
Gibbs -White is no replacement for either…..!
That’s the first time this season Iv’e been disappointed with this team. They thought they had it won and feckin sat back. Ruddy was a major problem tonight.
Love that James Maddison, grab him in the Summer and launch a push for the PL next year.
No plan B here boys and girls, same team each week is great, but they are becoming complacent.
12th man has it’s work cut out Saturday.
Feck, feck and feckin feck.
Thanks for the update Stu. It is now about how we respond. I am sure Nuno will not be happy.
Still don’t believe this to be a serious blip. We will be okay.
Gap was 13 points before Saturday and it is 13 now. Only two more games less to play. 4 more wins and a couple of draws should do it.
Great positivity pal. I am not surprised at all when the doom and gloom merchants come on as they always do when we drop points we expect to get. So chuffed that you see the positive side.
Yeah and I drove up the match tonight. I’m not even pissed. Trying to keep my nerve. Thing is all that lot below Cardiff are all having a wobble or two. I won’t be suicidal if we come away with a point from Fulham. Sure we will be up for that. Maybe Nuno will shake it up a bit.
And after this latest round of games the PPG ratio is still predicting a Promotion party at Cardiff away 7.4.2018.
Costa and cav will be pretty fresh for Saturday, I’d put Gibbs white in with Saiss and we can still bring bonitini in so plenty of freshening up of the team , Fulham had a big game tonight too so I’m confident, after all they ain’t Barcelona and we have only lost one in about 18 so are in pretty good form ourselves, games get much harder to win from here but we have a massive points advantage over third so it’s all good
Utw
Two things For me I thought Nuno made a mistake in taking off Cav, the second thing is that Ruddy was culpable for both goals conceded, but overall we got what we deserved, we got complacent in allowing them to take over in the second half even though we had plenty of chances to wrap it up.and we all knew what could happen and it did.
Not having a go at Nuno but I feel he didn’t get it right tonight unless he was forced into his substitutions.
Still 9 points above the rest so a even bigger game come Saturday evening, a must not lose game.UTW.
How is Costa? He came off due to injury did he not?
I said Norwich were dangerous..Ruddy a double agent ..became a ‘blind pew’ and has worrying schizophrenic tendencies ..
Afobe disappointing but they are not preferring him with a pass..
2 points in the gutter..
Top of the table.
9 points clear of 2nd place.
13 points clear of 3rd place.
Only 13 games to go.
Won more games than anyone else.
Lost fewer games than anyone else.
Only 1 defeat in 19 games (W13, D5, L1)
Smile people!
Fantastic season which is going to end in promotion and the league title whilst playing the best football seen at Molineux for over 40 years.
Any other team wanna swap places with us? Well 23 Championship clubs for a start!
OODCL
I’m agreeing with everything you’ve put Bedders.
If anyone has a downer … just look at the league table…… top by a country mile……
We just are not going to be caught …. 13 points clear of third place with 13 games to go…..even a point a game from us will be hard to overturn….
What’s not to like …..
G’day Twixo!
I would also like to add to my positive upbeat ‘don’t panic’ post the following message;
To the CRETINS who were berating Ruddy at the end and calling him useless and to the BRAIN-DEAD MORONS who decided to jeer and boo the team at the final whistle please go forth and multiply and do whatever else you pathetic excuses for human beings have to do but don’t ever return to Molineux as you do NOT support the same club as me and the mere sight of you anywhere near me makes me want to vomit all over you.
There. I feel better now!
OODCL
There is no-one more positive or glass 3/4’s full than me on this blog, we are storming the league, defended like Trojan’s all season, scored from every position on the field except Coady, but, we’re talking about tonights game not the season as a whole.
93 minutes on the clock, a shocking Ref who is already thinking of his hobnobs and a warm cup of tea, who’s just about to stick whistle to lips and then a kick squarely in the Gonads.
Boy did it hurt.
Feckin ouch!
I quite rightly and justifiably feel how Wolves have made every other fan in this league feel after that sucker punch. Deeply disappointed on the night, but elated, over the moon Jim, Old Gold & Black tinted glasses still firmly attached for our season, but feckin gutted as the Bristol tittie fans would have said for sure.
Onwards & Upwards,
I hope to see any bloggers still sober on Saturday at Flum.
Life goes on, but just with two points less than we should have had.
Nuno I’m available to join coaching staff-re preview. We are lucky to have the points gap we have, otherwise l would start to panic a bit.The cause of this is not seeing games out, also for all the liquid football, the few times we actually test the keeper.
