If Wednesday’s game was supposed to be the more winnable of our Molineux double header, you worry about what’s to come.

Back-to-back losses is bad enough but with Boro tomorrow and a horrible looking fixture at Blues next weekend, things stand to get considerably worse.
Brentford were achingly average, but thoroughly deserved their win having pretty much controlled the game for the duration.
Wolves were creaky at the back, overrun in midfield and lacking punch in the final third, despite the best efforts of their talisman.
You just wonder how much of that can be fixed within the space of a few days.
Middlesbrough
I fancy Boro will be well organised and even more difficult to breakdown than Brentford given that they’ve been consistently disciplined for well over a season.
Aitor Karanka’s team have only conceded 8 goals so far in the league, making them the meanest defence in the division.
Recent form has been flaky with two losses to Reading and Cardiff sandwiching a stalemate against Fulham so perhaps that offers some cause for optimisim?
Prior to that, they’d won five in a row and looked dead set to be among the automatic promotion contenders.
Unlike Wolves, they invested heavily in proven talent and I still believe the likes of Nugent and Downing will give them that extra percentage required to achieve their ultimate goal.
Wolves
I think Kenny Jackett made at least one mistake with his team selection in midweek.

Dropping Jack Price – who seems to continually be scapegoated for losses without much supporting evidence – was a major error in my opinion.
Conor Coady isn’t doing enough to justify his place in the side individually and there’s no sign of a blossoming partnership with Kevin McDonald.
I would restore Price tomorrow, put another body in midfield (Edwards or Wallace) to try and get control of the ball and push Afobe right up the pitch.
Nathan Byrne should also be given an opportunity to show what he can do, otherwise what was the point of signing him in the first place?
The gaffer
Predictions
In the above video Kenny admits we’re light on numbers at the back and in forward positions. You wonder who is to blame for that situation?
It was obvious to everyone that bodies were required in those positions for the duration of the summer, even before injury and mystifying sales came into play.
Something is going on and the my interpretation of the manager’s comments is that he doesn’t feel he’s been adequately supported.
Anyway, I think we’ll lose tomorrow but hopefully there will be something to be taken from the performance.
2-1 Boro.
Up The Wolves!

Uno Uno for bullet proof Ken (have i missed a joke somewhere ?).
I thought I’d be positive and predict we’d at least score a goal. Otherwise looks a very dismal weekend for us.
I think Boro have too many good players to keep struggling as they have of late. On the other hand, we are down to the bare bones of a squad and many of them are, quite frankly, not up to it. The ramifications of the ongoing lack of investment is really becoming apparent.
I’m with you on this one Steppen.
Wednesday night was appalling – no leaders on or off the pitch.
Prove me wrong lads, but I can only see one result.
COYW!
Wolves to bounce back restore Price to the starting 11 with Edwards supporting Afobe and the Midfield. Byrne to star on the wing and score a goal……
COYW
Can’t see anything other than a defeat to nil after Wednesday’s performance.
I agree price shouldn’t have been dropped. He allows KMac to play and that is key to our creativity. Also agree Byrne has to start otherwise what was the point. I think pushing Afobe up front and bringing in Wallace or Edwards is also preferable as despite some goals Le Fondre doesn’t hold to ball up or stretch defences like Dicko.
I worry Jackett will stick with Coady over Prive and persist with playing Afobe in a withdrawn role. Tactically this has a massive affect on how we play and is a key reason why we aren’t clicking. Back to basics please.
Everybody knows my feelings about Edwards, or they sodding well should do by now.
If he’s fit, he HAS to play behind Afobe who should forget about floating around the pitch like a butterfly, get up front and STING! like a swarm of bees.
I don’t care what people say about Dangerous.
He might not be the most skillful player in the World but he always gives it everything he’s got, gets stuck in and makes and scores important goals.
We are desperately in need of a bit of old fashioned fight.
He can provide it.
Sod Brentford!
Sod Middlesborough!
Sod the fact that Morgan has lost interest!
The sodding fans haven’t!
We can accept sodding defeat – we can’t accept sodding defeatism!
Sodding well fight for your sodding club!
I hate to say this but “PUT A SODDING SHIFT IN!!!!!!”
I’ll have to stop now because my computer’s running out of exclamation marks and I need to reload.
! ! !
You will certainly get fight and effort from Dave and his best sodding position is in behind the sodding striker which ought to be Afobe. I want to see BA in their penalty area, not poncing about in our midfield or out on the wing. Get him in the area where he does his best work and can make a real difference. It means leaving out ALF who has scored a few recently but should give us a better balance and will allow us to play BA in his most effective position. The only other recommendations I’d make is Price back for Cody and a few prayers.
Hiya M and S …Are we meeting up at APV Hotel tomorrow .. And what time. ?
Sorry mate, only just logged on.
Yes, about 1.30
Hope you pick this up.
A complete shambles for a club of Wolves standing and relative wealth and a good championship side last year. Sako not adequately replaced. The unfortunate and dynamic Dicko not replaced. Ikeme – arguably best keeper in league, senior pro and on-field leader, dropped in favour of unknown and decidedly dodgy Arsenal loanee, no wonder Ikeme’s confidence has taken a hit.
The Stearman sale debacle – words fail me in this one, not replaced with an experienced defender and leader, also sold whilst Batth was injured to a major rival, young, raw and inexperienced players supposedly expected to step into his place. It is plain to see that these youngsters are not ready yet without experienced pros to learn their craft from. Stears supposedly was sold for ‘football reasons’ about time the management admitted a dreadful mistake was made on this issue.
I fear for our beloved team on Saturday, I really do. Please sort it out quickly powers that be, before it’s too late.
I guess Price will be restored, Edwards will be played ‘in the hole’ behind Afobe and there will probably be a start for RvLP as apparently he wasn’t desperately poor on Wednesday (unlike the rest). Deslandes on the bench as our only available spare defender. And it still won’t be enough to get a result.
Last time we were all this morose we won two games in a row 3-0. I’d be amazed if we manage that again, but am trying to stay positive despite the lack of evidence for it.
Being pataphysical about it!
What’s that mean?
‘The Science of Imaginary Solutions’, as expounded by Alfred Jarry the forefather of Surrealism……
As opposed to morgaphysical, the science of imaginary strategy, and moxephysical the science of imaginary value ????
maybe Moxey is employing a moxephsical approach to our ‘team building’ ?
Well, ya learn something every day. I shall endeavour to drop it into the conversation down the pub tonight. That’ll fox ’em. 🙂
I almost can’t watch and listen to the KJ interview..It won’t be KJs ‘drive’ that gets a result here it will be the core players..
Martinez DB K Mac and Afobe..
Byrne must come on but knowing KJ it will be at the wrong time..
Just imagine if we win these next two matches..yep just imagine……
Can’t quite see it unfortunately..
My glass cracked.
Can’t see anything other than another loss
I carnt understand why anyone selling something would asset strip it for instance I’m selling my Vespa PX 200 because I want a Lambretta so instead of taking all the good bits of to flog separately I’ve done the opersite I’ve up dated the tied looking bits with a new after market exhaust, I’ve put a new seat on it new chrome handle bars grips and a few other chrome bits and given it a good clean and I must say it looks the dogs bollocks which means I can ask top dollar for it that’s the way you sell something you wouldn’t sell your house having taking the double glazing out and dismantle the conservitory, I’m no Richard Branson but it just doesn’t make financial sense.
Any way I going tomorrow and I must say for the fist time in a long time I wish I wasn’t just thinking about the game fills me with dread BUT and it’s a BIG BUT ( no darling I wasn’t saying you’ve got a big butt, I’m on the Wolvesblogg, she has really ) what was I saying, oh yeah wouldn’t it be just like Wolves to go and win ( he said praying ) for some unknown reason I’ve got for 2.1 to Wolves, god knows why…..!
How much for the PX 200?
Foolish me for getting all optimistic this week. Dose of reality tells me to put my hopes back down and brace myself for a difficult few games. Having said that, earlier in the year I was all about the unpredictability of it all, so you never know.
outclassed, out-thought, out-battled, knocked-out
Corners to be turned at Blues next week.
Based on Wednesday I just don’t think we have enough leaders on the pitch to create a positive reaction to being outclassed by Brentford . I fear Boro will fill their boots.
If I hadn’t already bought the tickets, there’s no way I’d be making the trip up from the Westcountry for this one. I usually only invest my scarce resources if we’ve a hope in hell of getting a result. I find the journey home too long and depressing when we lose.
So, after the Brentford debacle, I’ve kinda resigned myself to a completely wasted day, apart from hopefully meeting up with some of you guys for a consolation pre-match pint. We all know we’re gonna get panned. The only question is how many by.
But hey, hope springs eternal and what do I know. Take a look at the prediction league and I ain’t even on it.
I can only pray that the team show as much sheer bloody-mindedness as DooGooder in his 11am post. Get into the dressing room DG and tear ’em off a strip.
So, with my heart ruling my head yet again, I predict:
after the brentford shambles I expect ( like yogi berra) déjà vue all over again
I can’t find my book on deja vu, but I’m sure I saw it around here somewhere.
It will be a good game and we will come out fighting. Vic and Bob will be crying in to their bras as Benik crashes us in to the lead. We will then have a wobble before the ghost of Derek Dougan manifests himself at an 89th minute corner. A scramble ensues and The Doog slots home at the far post. Then as quickly as he arrived he vanishes in to the skies above Mander House. There is an inquest but the Football League can find no rules to suggest ghosts are not allowed to score a goal. The goal stands and the crucial point sees WWFC embark on a 28 game unbeaten run. And then I woke up.
Never wake up Oh CHEESEBURGER OF DEATH!
We love you just the way you are.
And you still haven’t told me where you get your gear from.
Or should it be ‘from where you get your gear?’
Its hard to be a Wolves fan.
I dont belive in this result.
But I want this result.
If KJ can change his script, we might know what’s going on.
If someone gives the players a collective kick up the arse, some sense of pride might enter their skulls.
If the South Bank collectively breath in, we might suck the ball into the net, but knowing our luck it will be when Boro are attacking the South Bank.
If we bet the ref a few grand that we will lose, we might win.
If their team coach breaks down and we have to play against 11 dustbins, we might stand a chance.
If I ever predict us to lose, you can send me to sandwell.
And the biggest IF of all, if my auntie had bollocks, she’d be my uncle.
Bollocks to all the naysayers, wim Wolves ay we?
Wolves 5 Them 1
FOwb
Clive I’ve had to explain this to others in the past, She would still be you Aunty or Auntie but with extras.
…just changed score from 0-3, which is more realistic, but either way we lose.
Boro are on a poor run (1pt from 9), Wolves on a slightly better run (3pts from 9), therefore Wolves should win. However, Wednesday was such a downer I can only hope rather than expect for a better performance.
Not very hopeful of a result here but boro not scored for a while so I hope that goes one for 1 more week and we can sneak one.
Like everyone else I was completly pissed off by Wednesdays performance. If they are that bad again we will be absolutly mullered. Proabaly will be anyway but like Clive I refuse to predict a loss.
In my opinion Dave Edwards has to play, I am with the Doogooder on this, he appears to be the only player we have prepared to kick his way through a brick wall for the team.
If I remember in August when there was talk of Le Fondre arriving my comment was WTF do we want him for. Well WTF has he done so far, sweet FA in my opinion. Play the Bright kid. If he is as good as they say give him a chance.
Still I suppose KJ will spout his usual crap and pick a crap formation and make the wrong substitutions as per normal.
Still we are Wolves and if everything in the garden was rosey we would not know how to handle it.
Onwards & Upwards
FOWB
With no conviction whatsoever I predict we will arrest the slide. I was at the Riverside last season when we lost in the first 12 minutes with Dicko, |Afobe and Sako in the side. Since then they have strengthened but even so aren’t getting it all their own way. Price and Edwards to play with Afobe up front, whether he likes it or not.
No way they’ll respond
The Moneyball Theory.
Here’s some interesting Stats.from BBC, so armed with this information I’m going for.
Afobe in the first half. 1-0
Henry screamer in the second 2-0
McDonald through ball to Afobe who slots it over to Edwards to knock it in. 3-0
Job done.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34557373
Sorry Clive just can’t see them scoring one.
COYW’s
Lest we forget, and for the doggers amongst you.
If Edwards is our perceived saviour then God help us! Is that really how low we have sunk? To be willing the return of a man who, whilst able to run forever, tackle like mad and chase lost causes, cannot control a ball or pass a ball or beat an opponent? Shirley not! (sorry I’ll drop the Shirley references one day I promise).
Dave, Edwards (see what I did there) is not anyones saviour but I stood and suffered both Derby and Boro.
So, point by point.
Run forever None of the 11 tried to run especially our wingers?
Tackle like mad, Danny Batth, he’s forgotten how, Iorfa and Hause foul each tackle, that leaves Goldie
Chase lost causes He will chase our 11 lost causes.
Cannot contol or pass a ball In that case he will fit right in with the team.
Finally beat an opponent I would like him to truly Beat his team mates.
I am by no stretch of the imagination an Edwards fan, but after those two showings give me 5 Jack Prices, 5 Dave Edwards and Ikeme.
That’s me in trouble with the Bedford Mafia, but that’s as I see things and what do I know about football, I’m a Wolves fan
Surely Better than nothing
Totally agree, that 11 would show more that we did on Wednesday. Price and Edwards are key components in our best team and none of our many midfield signings over the past few seasons have proved it wrong.
If only we signed defenders and forwards….
Well we will have to agree to disagree I guess then. Not just about Dangerous Dave but also about wee Jack Price too who, in my humble opinion, isn’t half the player Coady is and I don’t just mean his height. For me last season our main weakness was central midfield with our defence not being given the protection they badly needed. Price was one of the players tried there as well as Evans and others and he didn’t do it. So we signed Coady to fill that role. Start of the season Coady looked good but McDonald didn’t. Just when McDonald started to come good Coady was suspended. Now is the time for Coady and McDonald to shine.
Now I don’t have anything against Edwards or Price – I feel a Pete and Dud ‘Tarzan audition’ skit looming here – I just think they are not good footballers. Effort, energy, running, spirit, endeavour etc all yes. In spades. But quality? Ability? Bottom line is that precious few of our current squad inspire me or excite me. Not even Afobe who I think will jump ship in January even if it is to join a club heading for Premier League relegation as, after all, as we all know money is king nowadays.
Our squad is, Monty Python sketch looming now, ‘waffer thin’ without a doubt. My only wish for tomorrow is a midfield of VLP, Coady, Macca & Ojo with Afobe and Enobakhare up front. Don’t want Edwards or Price or Henry or Le Fondre. OK I guess I really want a midfield of Hibbitt, Bailey, Knowles and Waggy with Richards and The Doog up front.
P.S. this is all good practice for tomorrow by the way as Tim Bedford Wolf, who will be doing his usual backseat driver routine, is a huge Dave Edwards fan but as I will be doing the actual driving he may just find himself walking the final 5 miles! Or 25. Or 75. Hell thinking about it I might just not pick him up at all.
P.P.S. if Edwards scores tomorrow I will buy you a large vodka.
P.P.P.S. if Price scores tomorrow I will buy you the pub!
I’m going to hope we steal a point from this one. If they are as lifeless as they sounded on Wednesday then defeat will be on the cards.
There are very little that options for variety at the back but without replacing Goldbourne with Deslandes or asking Bynre to play out of his now preferred wing position, Doherty is the only available change and that is enforced due to suspencion.
Maybe Price and Coady can sit behind KMac if we want to fill the midfield, even if we throw Dangerous Dave out on the right (and I hate doing that) and use one of the wing options on the other side, or even give Bright a run out.
But then it starts to look like the side that went to the Riverside in the cup and got rolled over 3-0…
There are plenty of free agent options to look at and even give trials to, but whether we would find the solution, or even adequate bandages from there is questionable.
#UTW
Thomas,
You say “something is going on”. Of course it is. We are preparing for next season when we will have no parachute payments. At the end of last season Morgan and Moxey had two choices. Spend some money and go for promotion OR spend next to nothing and prepare for life in the Championship when we will have a substantially reduced income. Naturally, they made their usual “we must never make a loss” choice and took the second course. Who said they don’t plan ahead?
Everything points to it. Only signing players from the lower divisions who are on low wages, selling Stearman, one of the higher wage earners still at the club, putting out a first team with two of the main positions (GK and CF) filled by loanees who will go at the end of the season. Sure we want promotion but we have to be ready in case we don’t achieve it!!! That is the M&M attitude.
That is why Afobe, signed from Arsenal so probably one of the current higher wage earners and maybe Ikeme (still on Premiership wages?) will go before next season.
The only flaw in the M&M master plan is that on current form we are heading for the drop!
Wake up and smell the coffee you two!
UTW!
I fear the worst!!!!!!
I can’t see us scoring and I’m hoping some miracle happens and we can stop them scoring as well……….my heart really isn’t in this anymore though.
No matter who plays I want to see us busting a gut in this one, we’ve got to get the bigger than average crowd behind us from the off. We only pulled off 1 or 2 decent team moves in the entire 90 on Wednesday leaving us all feeling rather short changed. The redrow adverts for those ‘very spacious’ homes will be describing Molineux at this rate.
I’ve binned the statistical modelling this week because Danny Batth said we’re going to come out FIGHTING.
Well you can’t program for a good scrap can you !!
Sorry Twix – to be accurate, Danny said we might come out fighting!
I’ll get the software reloaded then .. !
Unless and until we get a new owner with money, ambition, money, flair, money, football nouse and of course money we will continue to stagnate. We also need someone to sack poxy Moxey asap before he does such damage as to be irreparable. I can only see a mauling tomorrow – hope and prey I am wrong obviously – with a threadbare thin squad devoid of confidence and, or so it seems, devoid of any real guidance or inspiration from Kenny who, in my opinion, looks a beaten and broken man. A bit like me. Will be in the North Bank (probably getting wet, cold and even more depressed).
It is my first trip to the Mol tomorrow, but I’m not feeling to confident I’ll see a Wolves win. Especially against Boro, even if they haven’t been as convincing recently .
I was going to predict a wolves win against Bretford but in the rush from work forgot, then when I get there it seems the whole team forgot to turn up. I can’t remember such a lack luster performance under Jackett. How did a team that pushed the play offs get in a mess like this a look at the bench is scarey 1defender ( probably none tommorrow ) ,1 midfielder, 3 wingers and young strker. It’s a joke, selling Stearman was madness, to have no loan cover at center half and center forward to cover long term injuries criminal. The blame as to be with Morgan I’m all for using the acadamy but too many kids and losing games will do them more harm than good. Wednesday night was crying out for expierience and leadership sadly we have niether.
I’m predicting a draw purely in hope but expecting the worst.
First time for me to predict with my head a loss, but my heart says different so a loss I fear.really hope I’m wrong.back in the Hogs after the game, hoping I’m toasting a win and not drowning my sorrows.
Hope we go 4-4-2 and blast them out of the water I mean rain, because its gonna p##s down.
UTW.
Well we should get beaten but nothing is certain in life and that especially applies to Wolves.
Therefore we will bring home the bacon with our best display of the season.
Onwards and upwards
🙂
What can I say we’ve been shit over last 2 games hopefully Middlesbrough are not inform and we can get a point out of this match
Just as we’re hoping (soddin hope again) that our team will come out fighting (soddin’ fighting even), the Boro fans will soddin well be hoping for the same given their poor run. And I can’t help (soddin’) thinking that the latter is more likely. Price has to come back and stay and we need Edwards’ running and heart. And yes, Dangerous naysayers, he may well be the (soddin) answer in these circumstances so get off his back! I’ll then go for the reverse prediction psychology – a defeat, in the hope of continuing my run of no PL points.
Why no Iorfa in your starting line up Thomas?
Enjoy the match Stu, Stroker, Dogger, and others who are going. I hope I am wrong and that you come away smiling, but ………………..
I think he’s suspended (5 yellow cards) Brompton.
The rest might do him good.
COMBs!
The question is, can a team improve in 4 days from being absolute shite to beating one of the best sides in the division ? Any way you look at it,the answer is NO !
I had thought 6 points from a possible 12 prior to Derby would be par. See little chance of us winning tomorrow but I do think this team has some fight.
I normally try to predict the team before I predict the result but this time I don’t think it matters.
Goalkeeper? A dodgy one or a good one with no confidence. Defenders? We only have 4. Forwards? We only have 2 and one of those plays anywhere but up front these days. Midfielders? Perm any 4, Price must play and not sure why Bryne hasn’t had a chance. MacDonald doesn’t look fit (bad back).
Why not play Afobe up front on his own (to keep him up there) and play Edwards or Bright in behind.
Not blaming KJ as he knows that kids need a rest after a few games but he doesn’t have any other options.
Those were the days
Anything can happen at the Golden Temple and as we all know to our cost it is not always any good. But 2 things will never happen: 1. We will NEVER wear that wretched blue and white striped shirt 2. We will NEVER smell of fuckin piss and malted milk biscuits
Well Cheeseburger,
Have you got a feckin shock coming.
When your kids put you in a nursing home number 1 is a certainty, you will end up wearing anything cause they can’t be arsed to check whose clothes are what.
And, sorry my boy, but when your’e 78 years old, Number 2 is a definite.
Those were the days my freind.
This Wolves team are about as unpredictable as the weather, will they win or draw, maybe most likely lose, i just aint got a clue.
I havn’t pedicted a loss yet, so i’ll predict a loss now and hope I’m wrong yet again.
Price has to come back into the team. He and Afobe were the only ones to come out of Wednesday’s horror show with any credit. I’m not disappointed that Iorfa is out either. He may make a few crowd-pleasing gallops down the wing but defensively he has been poor. Brentford was the worst I have seen us play under Jackett but we are that inconsistent we will probably go and win. On that evidence though, I can’t see it.
Sorry, but I do think we’ve lost the plot. Well, honestly, I don’t think we ever had one actually. I mean, playing the Championship with the U’21 team isn’t exactly a plot is it!
Sorry, but I do think we’ve lost the plot. Well, honestly, I don’t think we ever had one actually. I mean, playing the Championship with the U’21 team isn’t exactly a plot is it! Thank you Steve Morgan. Hope you got your kicks out of playing Millionaire’s football with our club!
Spot on the Championship is full very seasoned pros a lot of whom have played in the Premiership, so the old saying “If they are good enough they are old enough” needs to be tempered back some what. But as said if it was all rosey in the garden we would not know what to do.
Hard to see us turning it around quickly
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse… they don’t somehow against the odds wolves win
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse… they don’t somehow against the odds wolves win
I just can’t see it against a good Boro side. They have had a wobble that’s a very small ray of hope in an otherwise very dark place. I expect us to be safe but no where near the play offs we can expect this I think till the club is sold????
Tough day at the office here, just don’t fancy us against the big money squad boro have. Hope im wrong, COYW!
I just don’t have it in my finger tips to predict a Wolves loss, but I know at the back of my tiny mind that we’re going to get thumped. I shall try my hardest to keep busy this afternoon and squint at the screen through one eye at five in the forlorn hope that the boys have ground out a hard fought win.
Another tonking today. Effectively we have swapped Stearman for Coady, when Price is the better player in the first place :ha ha ha, we’ll make too many mistakes at the back. Afobe as a number 10? Wrong too. MacDonald if not on his passing game offers too little in terms of tracking back and pace in the middle. Mid table at best this season. Surprise me lads.
I’m always wrong with my predictions so I hope this will continue this afternoon…
MoneybagsBoro should have too much in the tank for Toothless Wolves.
Morgan has washed his hands of us and hung us out to dry.
As I have said before, we need Afobe to play in his best position, which is upfront on the shoulder of the last defender. As others have said, that would mean ALF being on the bench and probably Dangerous Dave supporting Afobe. With Benik in that position we’ll always stand a chance of scoring. The defense is obviously lacking confidence and experience. IF Kenny plays our key players in their best positions and picks Price and IF he gets the team really up for this, we could conceivably win. In any case I can’t bring myself to predict a loss. So I’ll still be shouting ‘come on me babbies’ and I definitely won’t be booing.
I really can’t see a win here if we carry on as we have. I think DOOGooder has said all that needs to be said.
The players are wearing old gold & black. That means something. So get out there & show it. If we lose so be it but at least turn up & put in a performance!!!
Come on Wolves!
Just can’t see a win here.
What a mess we are currently in.
The sooner a buyer comes and saves us the better although I’m not holding my breath, as this could take bloody years.
The way things are going I predict Afobe will be gone January as he’ll ask for a move, Jacket will be sacked or quit, we might just escape relegation that’s how bad things gave become.
A clean sweep across the whole club is needed but that will only come when a new owner arrives.
So buckle up its going to be one shit ride until then.
You can’t help but understand why some of the players are bemused. First Carl Ikeme is dropped, then he’s back as captain for a game, then he’s dropped again. Stears is dropped then he’s back and playing well, made captain for a game and then flogged off at the 1st opportunity leaving us with no defensive cover. Tell me who is really responsible for these and other stupid decisions and you have found the reason why we are piss poor this season.
This is what I’d like to hear coming from the pre-match huddle
What’s he that wishes so?
If we are mark’d to lose, we are enow
To do our club loss; and if to win,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
O, do not wish one more!
He which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his transfer shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not play in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to lose with us.
This day is call’d the feast of Molineux.
He that shall win this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say “To-morrow is Saint Molineux.”
Then will he roll up his trousers and show his scars,
And say “These wounds I had on Molineux’s day.”
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Danny Baath, Afobe and Price,
Henry and McDonald, Golbourne and whoever KJ picks-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that plays his heart out
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so naive ,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And players in England not in this team
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That played for us upon Saint Molineux’s day.
Let’s hope our team is so literary and brilliant! Great stuff.
Can’t see this going our way.
Anyone recall November 2014 ? It seems to have come early this year.
16 04.11.2014 Ipswich Town away L1-2
17 08.11.2014 Derby County away L0-5
18 22.11.2014 Nottingham Forest home L0-3
19 29.11.2014 Brentford away L0-4
20 06.12.2014 Bournemouth home L1-2
We won’t win but I can’t tip a loss.
I fear a very long season.
I decided that one side would score 4 and the other 1 and then chose whether it would be 4-1 or 1-4 by tossing a coin ….. that’s how confused I am about things at the moment – form? what’s that?
I’d like to say it couldn’t get any worse but it can and it most likely will.
I think were in for a hiding today.
This is more in hope than expectation. Listening to the game on Wednesday was so depressing and one of the few times I was glad not to be at Molineux.
Surely Price has got to be reinstated? Also, I’d like to see VLP in the supporting striker role with Afobe. Lumping the ball up to the strikers isn’t working so we need to keep it to feet.
I refuse to change my normal prediction. I can’t see it coming true, but as Clive said, can’t change what I hope.
I phoned Spud up in the week to give him so advice.
“Listen me ode mucker, nip down to Ron Flowers shop, and buy 10 cricket boxes (you know the plastic guards to protect your do-dahs). And then on Saturday, have 10 stand on the goal line, and DONT MOVE for 90 minutes.
Hoof the ball upfield whenever you can, and hopefully BA can slot one in.
We might not score, but we’d have better chance of not conceding any!!
We must STOP conceding goals early. We seem to lose focus once behind. If we can hold Boro to no goals in the first half, I believe we can win or draw. Unfortunately, I think today will be a draw but hey, one point is one point. Prove me wrong boys!
Also, piss off Norwich and others.. Ever since other teams made offers for Afobe, his mind is elsewhere. Unfocused and, not playing well at all. Stinks…
Just seen the line up, apart from Edwards no change. So a defeat it is then.
Please turn this around!
An optimistic (?) draw
I have had a dream………………..
What a shambles we are.
Coady retained, Price not even on the bench, Van La P in, Henry out…….have we entered the realm of wishful thinking selection??
YES! Thanks lads, I needed the 3 points to push me up the prediction league.
Well ……… that is all I have to look foward to this season.
Hope your journies home are not too bad DOOGooder and Wolfstroker.
Quiet would describe it best.

Nine goals conceded in three games
That, my friends, is relegation quality
Jackett has gone as far as he can and will now be spoken of in the same breath as Saunders, Clipboard and Solbakken
2 games back I queried Wallace’s place in the team.
Today it was RVLP, WTF was the rational behind that thinking Kenny, he is, always was and always will be a waste of space. We were winning this game Easily for 60 minutes, if we had Henry on from the start we would have walked it.
Kenny, I’m at a loss to your talents and skills as a coach, this mess is of your making my freind.
Our only solace was 60 minutes of improvement, but the capitulation was criminal, Martinez was at fault for the first goal and the free kick, he positioned himself two metres in front of the goal line and couldn’t get across and back quick enough.
Danny Batth and Kenny Jackett sorry boys simply rubbish guys.
:-(( :-((
Large vodka on its way for Edwards’ goal. Thank God Price missed or I’d have had to emigrate. Martinez was actually at fault twice for the third goal as it was his weak and pathetic scooped kick out that came straight back and led to the free kick.
I shall save most of my thoughts for tomorrow but suffice to that we deserved a lot more than we got,
Martinez looked at fault for their equaliser and the replacement referee was at fault for almost every decision he made.
A travesty.
Chickens have well and truly come home to roost.
Relegation is a realistic possibility. The slide continues as we pay for poor decisions by Board and Management.
For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for Moxey
That would look goog on his cv another relegation that would take it to 3 I think just imagine you had taken a company to the wall 2 or even 3 times would you still be classed as ” The best Operater in the bussiness ” as Moxey is supposed to be……………well I’d hate to think what the worst is.
Isn’t that a great comfort to know that or CEO is the BEST in the bussiness ……………………UTTER BOLLOCKS….!
I don’t know what’s say, but Jackett is increasingly at fault, his selections are bizarre and have no justification to them as much as it Gauls me to say this this isn’t Morgan or Moxeys doing I know they are responsible for funding but Kennys picking the team.
I thought we played well for 60mins KJs coaching team selection and strategy then came to light..we were stuffed by the referee in fairness too and we can’t insure against Byrne getting carried away..Our goalie at fault too and Mr favourite Price missed a sitter…
No complaints with the result….
It could of been so much different..
Thought defeat was a bit harsh and as usual we are on the wrong end of referee decisions. Boro looked a decent side and you can see why they are up there. Looks like it could be a long hard winter ahead. Anyone know any billionaire oil tycoons or anythin?
Urgent three point emergency plan that needs to be implemented IMMEDIATELY – you listening Moxey you half wit? –
1. Send Martinez back to Arsenal and re-instate Ikeme to the side
2. Sign an experienced centre back on loan
3. Sign an experienced striker on loan.
Failure to do these three things will see defeat at Birmingham, Bristol and at home to Burnley and a place in the bottom three beckoning. Our squad hasn’t been this threadbare or this appalling since 1984/85. Steve Morgan I f***ing despise you!
Boro were better than us full stop. Yes we gave a decent effort first half but their quality was there for all to see. It was desperate backs to the wall defending for large parts of the game. So I have no issue with the result- as hard as it is, the better side won. The side that has invested in a little bit of quality and experience won the game. Congratulations Mr Gibson you are a chairman that most clubs would die for.
As for us, KJ is losing the plot rapidly. It was better than Wednesday but let’s face it, it wouldn’t need to be brilliant to be better than Wednesday .
So now we have to fight and scrap for enough points to stay in this division. It is going to be a long hard slog so we had better get used to it. We cannot afford to be relegated again especially with the current lame duck regime. No one will pay Morgan what he wants for a division 1 club – although there is a part of me that hopes he is forced to sell for a rock bottom price the thieving scouse git.
If we have learnt anything about the McCarthy sacking and the subsequent shambles orchestrated by Morgan and moxey we should at least keep jackett in situ until new owners come in or the end of the season whichever happens first. I think kj has done a very good job for wolves but even under difficult circumstances this season I think he has confirmed that the extent of his ability is mid championship. We should also have learnt that you need a proven track record of success in the championship and therefore the only candidate I can think of that is available at the moment is Nigel Pearson . His attraction to wolves is that he is a free agent, I guess the disadvantage is his wage and budget expectations and also that he would not be a yes man for moxey. We also have to recognise that while we are up for sale, we are a less attractive proposition for any managers with “options”. Personally, as hard as it may be , and as detrimental to our short term ambition as it will be, I would try and maintain a holding pattern until moxey and our completely impotent board, together with our apology for an owner, are well away from molineux.
As long as it looks like kenny can keep us up i grudgingly agree with Sutton coldfield wolf. I like Pearson’s single minded determination and he has been there and done it but why would he come and work with these plonkers. Paul Lambert is another who has scaled heights that look way beyond KJ.

Yow gorra loff ay ya
It’s little consolation but I find myself thinking at least the Chelski fans may have some understanding of the normal state of affairs we all endure being a Wolves fan.
Folks do not worry we have the Best Operator in the bussiness our CEO Sir Moxey of Poxfordshire……..!
Might I make an observation about the nature of the Wolves squad, especially in the light of the Hause injury (and the incomprehensible selling of Stearman). Taking into account every player with a squad number and those out on loan, the squad appears to consist of:
4 goalkeepers (5 if you count Burgoyne after his recall from somewhere in East Anglia);
7 defenders (2 currently injured);
5 forwards (one out for the rest of the season, one is 18-ish and the other cannot get into the Shrewsbury first team); and no fewer than
15 midfielders (6 of them wingers).
15 midfielders? Three of them are getting pretty good reports currently but they are all out on loan – Rowe, Saville and Evans. But, seriously, 15 f*cking midfielders?
Should not any balanced squad have at least two decent defenders for every position and perhaps the same for midfield? We have nearly four midfielders for every position. Why?
Who is making these signings? Who is determining the tactics that dictate such a plethora of midfielders of whom only one, perhaps, might be a fair cert on the team sheet each week (McDonald)? Why has Wolverhampton become a retirement home for moderate midfielders when what the team needed was a high quality Sako replacement and an experienced centre back and, ideally, a decent forward as reinforcement. When we signed Wallace, Byrne and Coady (and Saville and Rowe for that matter) were they there to make up the numbers or signed as part of a defined strategy and game plan? We spent transfer money on three of those players. Might it not have been better to use it all to buy one decent left winger for example rather than three average midfielders?
Baffling.
BTW, the numbers are based on the following (please correct if wrong):
GK 5
Ikeme, Martinez, Flatt, McCarey, Burgoyne
Def 7
Doherty, Iorfa, Deslandes, Golbourne, Ebanks-Landell, Hause, Batth
Mid central 9
Edwards, Wallace, Price, Coady, McDonald, Ronan, Saville, Rowe, Evans
Mid wide 6
Henry, Ojo, Van la Parra, Byrne, Graham, Ismail
Att 5
Dicko, Afobe, Enobakhare, Le Fondre, McAlinden
Manager for hire…………….
Manager for sale…………….
You fillin the gaps.
