It was nice to halt a run of 7 straight defeats with a hard-earned point against Sunderland last weekend. However, of even greater concern is our frankly pathetic home form since the turn of the year.
We haven’t taken a single point on our own patch since the 2-2 draw with Norwich way, way back in December. That’s 8 home league defeats in a row, with an FA Cup loss against Blues thrown in for good measure.

Without wanting to harp on and pile the misery high, surely this is yet another wake-up call to Jez and Steve that the rebuilding of Molineux should have continued on the pitch before work commenced off it.
Only Man City and Everton are still to pay a visit this season, meaning there’s a genuine possibility that our next home win might not come until August, 8 months after the last one. It’s almost so terrible to contemplate, it’s funny.
Hopefully though it won’t come to that, but we’ll certainly need a major upset to further derail Man City’s title aspirations. Regardless of how United fare in the early kick-off, Roberto Mancini’s team will be desperate for the win.
Their away form is far from sparkling. Aside from their 8 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats have hampered their progress severely, but a 6-1 drubbing of Norwich last time out won’t have done their confidence any harm.
With Carlos Tevez firmly back in the groove, a player whose been a constant thorn Wolves side in recent years, there’s even more reason to fret about our prospects.
The Team
TC surprisingly (in my opinion anyway) went 442 against Sunderland, leaving out Kevin Doyle in favour of SEB and Steven Fletcher. Without doubt I’d be reverting to 451 for this game. Here’s my preferred team:

When you wait so long for a cleansheet, it’s probably best not to tinker with the back four, so I’ll resist my urge to put Ronald Zubar back in against my better judgment.
Sadly, Wayne Hennessey won’t get a chance to build on that minor success as he’s been ruled out for 6 months with knee ligament damage. Get well soon Wayne. De Vries will surely now get his chance for a run of games.
I’d bring Doyle back in as the lone forward after his encouraging performance against Arsenal and drop the other striker in place of a midfielder. I’ve chosen Milijas but TC will almost certainly go for Dave Edwards.
Prediction League
Only two people said we’d draw with Sunderland last weekend and they were myself and pass and move.
Neither of us got the scoreline though, so it’s only a point each.
With just 4 games to go, the action at the top of the Prediction League is certainly hotting up. Barring a late surge from someone lower down the table, it would appear to be a 3-horse race between Kowloon Wolf, Ade in China and Exeter Wolf. I’ll dig some sort of prize out for the winner to commemorate the achievement.
Next year I will probably tweak the points system, so if you have suggestions feel free to make them as a comment or by emailing me.
This weekend I have to predict defeat. They’ll just have too much for us to handle.
4-1 City.
If you’re at Molineux, have a great time and roar the lads on as you always do.
Up The Wolves.

4-1 Wolves – Moxey hat trick
Ever the pessimist I’m not sure how may goals against you can fit into 90mins, but two pluck a score out of the ether 1-7 Man City
Yep – I’d go for that team and be prepared to bring on Fletcher for a holding midfielder should we go one down. . . . . . . . . which I fear we might so he’d better get warmed up early on. Haven’t got one right yet, (my record is worse than TCs), and time is running out I’m going
Wolves 1 City 5.
Do you know Thomas – that does look a useful side – could do with strengthening at centre back but certainly good enough to keep us out of the relegation zone with the right manager to motivate them.
I cant see the Wolves managing one.
Bit of a scary game, hopefully we can just go out and give it our all from the start though. Not after twenty minutes, half time or an hour.
Foley simply has to play at right back, he was superb last week and even when he’s out of form he still much better than Zubar.
I’d go with a midfield of Henry-Milijas-Edwards but I think it will be Davis instead of Milijas. Doyle or Fletcher? It’s a tough one. Everything else picks itself really.
you forgot the scoreline mate….
1-0 Wolves…. the new boo boy Edwards with the winner
I will hazard my usual wild guess at a hard-fought, gallant, narrow defeat:
Wolves 0-2 Man. City
I’m saying 0-2 cos Kowloon Wolf did, and according to the article he’s quite good at this.
Sorry mate probably just cost you the title… you should’ve waited till one of the others posted and I’d just have copied them instead.
Yeah you’ve peaked too early and gone and backed the wrong horse. My recent record is worse than Wolves at the Mol. I haven’t had a correct preddo since November(?) I had a big lead but I am currently in the process of squandering it. Consider me the “Man City” of the Prediction League.
With Tevez back on the scene, along with the rest of the City mob, I can’t help but fear we are in for a hiding. 4-0 to City.
I would not pick one of that team.
They have proved to be useless since August.
I would play 11 youngsters, give them a chance to play Prem footie in front of a crowd who would cheer them to the rafters for passion and commitment.
Let them have at least one chance to play against a quality team, before getting thrown to the pits of the Championship.
However, McConnor will play McDickhead’s favorites as per usual, and we’ll get stuffed.
Prediction?
City to declare at half time.
Wolves 0 City …double figures.
yep soo right mate….kids all the way for me too!!! forget the game lets get a petition going so at least we get the two ronnies to listen to what the majority are saying…lock the gates turn the light off and actually get this bloody mess sorted..properly!!!but no , we wont have the petition and we will probably still be up to our necks in the crap come next season…. hope im wrong but nothing suprises me with the wolves!!
City looks unstoppable at the moment. Norwich played quite well in the 1-6 loss, I’m not sure we can do any better.
5-0 city :/
City with their attacking force vs a keeper who hasn’t played a proper game for ages and our Wolves ‘defence’…
I’m interested to see how De Vries copes with this but I can’t see anything but a heavy defeat – Wolves 0 Man City 6. Oh, and you’ve Hennessey named in the list by the way – sure that’s a mistake! 😛
Good spot. Fixed.
Come on Thomas any sign of that petition,or is it that you don’t fancy it.i think you’ll find
it’ll get a great response,ps if you don’t fancy it, see if your pal Ben will do it for us.
Team,i’m with clive on this one,but with three changes,DAVIS ZUBAR,IKEME.FOJM,FOTC.
I don’t really have a clear idea about what the petition is for mate.
What exactly are we trying to achieve with it?
If we’re just collecting a list of signatures to say ‘we’re pissed off’ I don’t think it’s necessary. That much is already obvious.
Thomas I think its more a sign that we are willing to act to ensure this rot stops here..
we want them to accept responsibility for an abysmal season, and to formally apologise for the fans for the lies and incompetence .. and to formulate a plan of action for next season.
They are hoping (and no doubt assuming) we will all pitch up next season with all forgiven, ready to accept another dose of bullshit and cost-cutting… and no doubt want us to do so with TC in charge…
I wont stand for this, I know a number of people who wont either.
I have never done one before but feel strongly enough about it to try it myself – you would be a far more suitable candidate though… and short of gong round Fat Moxeys house with a pitch fork i dont know what to do
Hi Ad.
I understand and totally agree with the frustration. I feel the exact same way that bad decisions off the field have cost us more than anything on it.
However, you could get 50,000 signatures and they still wouldn’t ‘formally apologise to the fans for the lies and incompetence’.
They’re businessmen, they have big egos and they will protest to the death that they aren’t to blame.
That said, I’m fully expecting Steve Morgan to address the fans after the Everton game and if he doesn’t, I’ll be incredibly disappointed. I would expect that he’ll state that mistakes have been made without necessarily pointing the finger.
I genuinely believe he’s hurting at the moment and will be formulating a plan for next season, starting with appointing a manager that will get the fans on side.
I will therefore be staggered if TC is given the job on a permanent basis. He may remain on in some capacity.
Whatever accusations you want to throw at Steve Morgan, he isn’t an idiot. Of course he’s using his position at the club to improve his personal wealth, but he’ll know he needs the fans onside to achieve his long-term goals.
My personal thought is that we should give him the benefit of the doubt until the start of next season to see where we are.
This has been an awful, awful season but in over 5 years in charge, it’s only really been the last 5 or 6 months where things have gone a bit pear-shaped for him.
I don’t think we should be calling for his head on a stick just yet.
Completely agree with all this – there’s no denying that the two M’s royally f**ked up McCarthy’s sacking but they may redeem themselves if they can get in a capable manager who can go one further than Mick and establish us as a PL side in the long run…
That being said, I expect an apology from the board – they have to admit that they f**ked up!
I agree 100% with this – one other thing though I’s like to see next year and it only dawned on me reading on here about a bloggers visit to the Albion – the Club should seek to do more to reflect on its Black Country heritage (no need for a long discussion regarding location issues 😉 and this isn’t about the Club’s history). The blog dsicussed his visit and the fact that they make a real issue about being in the Black Country and being proud of it. I’d like to see the club do more of this because to me at least, it does seem lacking.
One battle we can definitely win is the one fought in song on the terraces.
There was a thread on the facebook page entitled ‘The Southbank Molineux’ this week, inviting people to suggest stuff to sing / shout at the rich northern monkeys.
by far and away my favourite was this:
The Falkands are ours
The Falkands are ours
Fuck off to Argentina
The Falkands are ours
Any other suggestions?
Isn’t there enough trouble in the world Sleachy!
That isn’t even funny, several hundred boys died in that stupidly unnecessary war.
Let’s stick to footballing chants and leave the religion and politics to drunken Glaswegians!
Even drunken Glaswegians have more sense…and if they dont there are laws up here now that help them to wind their necks in!
so ts un-PC to make light of a war, but perfectly PC to label Glaswegians as drunkards…? You regurgitating PC Parrots really make me laugh… I do so wish The Guardian would give us all a comprehensive list of who the “liberal-hive” deem it ok to slag off, and those we need tip-toe around…
You all might guess I’m really pc, so how about….
Fuck off you greasy dago, slimy, scum suckin’ argie motherfuckers?
Or,
We won the war, we won the war, E, I, Adio we won the war…so fuck off.
Or,
Maradona fucked a goat, and tevez was the result.
Yes, a lot of British servicemen died and were horribly disfigured in that “war”, which those greaseballs started, and won’t let go of, so bollox to all you pc liberal wimpy pacifists, they got what they deserved, and I for one will never forget some of those horrible images beamed back to the UK, all because some jumped up, fucked up tinpoit dictator wanted a bit of our land.
Never forget, or we will get walked over.
Are you germans reading this?
thanks guys, for a second there i thought banter had been made illegal.
i hate people who take their kids to football matches and then get upset when people swear. that’s what the family enclosure is for. fucking cissies.
not everyone has had their brains sucked out and replaced with hypo-allergenic free range wool – yet
Banter?
What Sleazy and Clive from Houston writes isn’t banter it is the demented rantings of a psychotic moron.
I live in East Dunbartonshire, I see the drunken Glaswegians on Old Firm days, I don’t need to label them they label themselves.
You however I am happy to label as foul mouthed amoral slugs with the all the charm of an open sewer.
Have a nice day.
You live in East Dumb Artonshite, eh??
Says it all really.
Hadrian built his wall for a reason, and you are living proof.
Seems you have not evolved any further than William Wallace, and you probably wear the same clothes he did.
Listen, you haggis shaggin’ twat, this is a blog for Wolves fans to vent their feelings and frustrations, offer constructive criticism, and have debates, sometimes heated and some times not, with fellow bloggers.
Nowhere in any of my blogs have I slagged off or said such stuff to a fellow blogger as you did about Sleazy and me.
The gloves are well and truly off, you narrow minded turd.
The surprising thing is that you have strung several words together, in nearly grammatical correctness.
Unusual for a neanderthal scotch man, or woman, whatever.
Thomas, we don’t need this garbage, please do your duty as blog policeman and ban this “fan” from our forum.
I wish he would block you Clive, this is not your blog either!!
I don’t think Thatcher was a dictator exactly.
Some folk would say she was, rather.
She used to ask Dennis if she could use his dictaphone, and he told her to use her finger like anyone else!!
The old ones are the best!!!
I would go 5-0 too, but a number of you have that, so I will go 6-0, doh, thats taken too… how about 4-0, anyone ? (I can only hope its not up in the 7s and 8s)
Admant
PS, WHERE’s THAT PETITION ??
SCOUSE OUT !!! PIE EATER OUT !!
we are shit , we are shit ,we are shit!! and everyones too good for us!!
With Tevez back…and Hennesey out…I see a difficult afternoon ahead! I think we will nick a goal…once City have demolished us and got bored…so I will say 5-1 to Man City…
At the Swansea match walked to The Mol chatting to a Swansea fan. Who said De Vries is a good
goalie but crap with crosses. If I know that then so does Mancini.
Dzeko to play and score 2.
We will struggle to score.
Wolves 0 Citeh 5
Is that why the call him Dracula ? Ditto 0-5
Well even if we win we are probably relegated if other results go against us. Our championship defence against two players who would probably get in a world X1 right now. I just hope its chucking down with rain and freezing cold to even things up.
With 2 holding midfielders we may hold out for longer, and as City have a better goal difference than Utd, a solid 3-0 defeat for me, no doublt TC will say this means we`ve turned the corner.
i`m not going anyway, but I will use my season ticket against Everton, our last premiership game for how long I wonder?
Wolves 1-3 Man City, Kightly to score for us and once again tragically show what might have been if he’d been fit for the last 3 seasons.
I think we would have stood a much better chance with Kights and Frimpong all season – but we were never going anywhere with Mick, and then stood no chance whatsoever with TC…
Havent seen Man City for a while and i have stopped watching MOTD ( though i did watch Wolves last week with the sound down ). When all hope has gone teams sometimes produce a crazy result 2-1 Wolves.
I think this will be carnage. Goal difference is still important to City and, unlike Arsenal, i don’t think they will take it easy once the game is won. How about 9-0 for our ninth home league defeat in a row and a fitting tribute to our magnificent management team.
As for next season’s prediction league Thomas, i would prefer 2 points for the correct result and 1 point bonus for the score which is really just pot luck anyway.
who cares about the result…totally pointless like us!! PETITION PETITION PETITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please x
5-0 to city, might get worse
Moron and Greaseball must not be let off the hook. They created this mess and we must let them
know how it feels to be old gold and looking down the barrel of relegation and a laughing stock.
PETITION now please.
Oh dear. I’m going for a city win. Wolves 0-6 citeh.
my mates a brickie..he could brick up our goal-though i forgot we change ends at half time..okay, we can have a five a side goal cos its our ball and i think we should turn it round the other way as well, then all the players can squeeze into the goal so we can win the world record of most overpaid useless pretend footballers in a five a side goal..oh yeah-then we can parade it round wolverhampton on an open top bus but knowing our luck the bus will probably break down outsie tescos!…..and they will still probably score 7.
We have a board who have taken a vow of silence.
A manager who has no pride or care for Wolves –
If he had he would have resigned & given the team a chance.
No wonder we have unmotivated players.
We will lose.
The problem is that it doesn’t matter to us the result .
The problem is with the board before what happens on the pitch.
Until that is addressed, keep your money and your support in your pocket.
Wolves 0 City 7
totally agree robin..but our fans are loyal and wiil turn up in numbers…….the only way to be heard is to hit fatwad in the pocket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
And with that petition, starting with POXEY OUT TC OUT.
Old Goldy, ironic as it is, at the moment, to be disloyal is being loyal.
Moxey and Morgan are relying on this sense of loyalty, to rape and pillage the club, and for us to pay for it.
seems a real shame ..but yes you are right
2-0 wolves henry and berra to score
Atleast the fair weather fans will disappear next season leaving it to us real supporters again. And it’s about time that paired scored for us so why not vs manshity
1-0 Wolves! Pressure off as we will be relegated the day before.
4-0 city, Tevez and Aguero to net two each.
As for the prediction league… Perhaps bonus points for guessing correct first goal scorers or something similar? Could mix it up a bit. I could see it backfiring should a forward get a particularly good run of form going but that’s the only idea I can think of.
0-4 To city, but with the kids who knows,at least the fans would give them their support what
ever the score.some may think it’ll to harsh on the kids but i think they would LOVE IT.
FOJM,FOTC……THOMAS.BEN PETITION PLEASE.
i fail to see what positives that can be drawn from this whole sorry season other than the fans love the wolves and really want a proper footballing side with a promising young manager at the helm bringing the youth through whilst retaining a mature quality spine. whilst what the heck the two ms want is anybodys guess..bit like pin the tail on the donkey after a skinful.silence……silence and more silence!! do THEY really know what they want..anybodys guess..still..what a really lovely stand – i bet the workmen want to make the seats spell” twat i am ” with some gold seats!!
oh and why for no petition yet?? would give the fans a feeling of being listened to..doesnt ne ed to be abusive- just to the point and honest…at least come back to us and say yes or no -anyone else agree?
Put my name down for not putting my name down – Old Goldy i would lay off it a bit tomorrow.
The thing about having a petition on here is it will be in the format of a normal blog, with people writing comments and not just signing it. Thomas and Ben could create a different page on the site built to just take your details and that, but unless they’re good coders with time on their hands or fancy paying someone to build it that’s not really going to happen.
I’m also guessing from the lack of comment on the matter that they may have some less logistical and more political concerns on the matter.
I suggest you go to a website like this one http://www.thepetitionsite.com/ and make one yourselves.
The advantages to this would be that not only would Wolves Blog avoid getting their hands dirty, so to speak, those of you who care enough could also post links to the petition on all kinds of social media pages, forums, comments under articles in the e&s, the comments on here obviously, and massively increase the exposure of your campaign to other Wolves fans.
Personally I don’t think it will achieve a great deal, but if you want it doing that’s how you do it.
Gutted for Hennessey, has pulled off some great saves this season!! But the stats dont lie..not many clean sheets kept…maybe Dorus (too late or not) will take this chance to prove himself.
Whatever the score lets all have a disco and enjoy watching some of the best players currently in the world as we wont get the chance next season!!
The Cricket Scoreboard was delivered to Molineux this morning. They putting it in the top Tier of the new stand.
Rumour has it Man City may declare at Half Time if they think their score is good enough to win, by bowling us out second half….
opps… Wrong game…
Or is It!
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
I’ve Got A question..
Just gonna throw it out there for debate…
Are there any happy clappers left now…??
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Yes!!!
Here I are!!!
So sad to see Michael get sacked after such a fine performance over the last three seasons.
He was the most consistent manager in the Premiership.
But, he left a wonderful legacy in his team and coach.
The coach has actually surpassed Michael as Mr. Consistency….no wins ever in his Premiership tenure. Chip off the old block, that.
And those poor young boys, still in their twenties and having to live on such a pittance as 30 grand a week, dont know how they make ends meet. Must drive some of them to drink.
And our beloved ceo, Mr Jezabelle. Its a wonder his poor head hasn’t come right off with all that spinning he does. No wonder he has to slather it with grease.
I really feel sorry for Mr. Builder most of all, though.
He’s had to dig up some lovely land in Compton, just to try and make a few million on some little boxes. It must have been a wrench for him to stop the redevelopment of the stadium as well, poor dear. Not enough money coming in from those nasty numpties who stopped wasting their money and stayed in the clubs to watch for free. That’s a rotten trick in these hard times. How is he going to make his next billion if those fickle people dont give him more money?
Yes, it’s been a real hardship for all associasted with the club, and it is all the fault of you naughty fans, critcizing our wonderful board and management.
How dare you!
You should be ashamed of yourselves!!
And not a single swear word…..that’s a first!!
FOWB
Hilarious Clive
Define happy clapper. If you mean someone who thinks we can stay up then probably not.
If you mean someone who thinks we’ll consolidate over the summer, and finish top half of the champ next season, then yeah.
Well that’s what I reckon anyway, call me a happy clapper if you want.
Any need for this, Nige? I chose to be optimistic and back then it wasn’t unreasonable to believe that we could survive… but let’s be honest, could anyone have predicted how much of a total cock-up this season was?
The people saying we’d be relegated were right – fair play – but I’m optimistic of an immediate return to the Premier League! 😉
I think the enlightend ones did say it last season we would go down.
I would love to see a youthful team playing with the passion and awareness of Davies.
I suppose MoxConnor will play the old guard still expecting us to stay up. As he expects us to be competitive for 38 games! I don’t think he has actually said which 38 games he expects us to be competitive.
1-5 city and moxconnor telling us we will be competitive to the end!
It’s impossible to be competitive for 38 games this season, we’ve only got 4 games left. I reckon we’d need at least about 30.
Why don’t those calling for a petition organize it themselves instead of asking others i.e Ben and Thomas to do it for them. I put forward Old Goldy who given the number of “contributions” in recent days seems to have plenty of time on his hands. You will be wanting Ben and Thomas to wipe your arses next. Anyway what’t the point of a petition ? I think the club are aware that the supporters are totally pissed off at what has happened to our wonderful club ! Regarding throwing in the kids againt City simply because they kids need to grow up and stop being silly.
The point is my honourable colleague is that they dont give a shit… and will assume wthat we’ll all do nowt and rock up next season – everything forgiven
A petition, is more a sign that we are willing to act to ensure this rot stops here..
we want them to accept responsibility for an abysmal season, and to formally apologise for the fans for the lies and incompetence .. and to formulate a plan of action for next season.
At this point they are not accountable for their incompetence – can you imagine an company not doing an inquisition after such a perfromance ?
I will have a look at lunchtime about starting my own petition – but it will indeed make no difference if fans such as yourself dont bother to sign.
I really will hang up my Wolves kit for however long it takes if they expect us to kick off the championship with TC in charge… I wouldnt be able to take it, and i refuse to spend my hard earned cash supporting such an institution.
FUCK OFF MOXEY !
Correction to final sentence. Those who are advocating throwing in the kids against City simply because they are kids need to grow up and stop being silly.
You totally miss the point.
We are not advocating kids in for kid’s sake, it is kids in coz the “professionals” have done fuck all every match this season.
They would have been fired months ago if they lived and “worked” in the real world.
They should all be prosecuted under the Trades Description Act.
Footballers, my arse.
My Subbuteo team are better, and they haven’t been out of their box for ages, either, just like The Wolves!!!
Are you seriously suggesting sending out a team of 16-18 year old kids to be publically humiliated by Aguero,Tevez,Silva ,Nasri et al will benefit them or the club ? Are you a sadist ?
OK Usain, what the fuck do you suggest ? You have dont nothing but shoot down everyone else’s suggestions… what do you reckon we do? Simply bend over and take it, game after game, like some sort of perrenial max mosely party …??
No chance… I point blank refuse. I refuse to be fucked up the arse by a fat cunt who knows nowt about football, and cares even less about my beloved club.
PS
The silence from the club is deafening … dont expect anything from them as they hope time will pacify the massess… sad thing is – it probably will.
PPS
Not me.
If it were up to me, I’d play the ball boys/girls, the mascots, the groundsmen and even the tea lady rather than the useless load of slackers that we’ve been paying to “represent” our famous club.
Publicly humiliated?
What do you think has been happening week after week anyway?
I cannot recall a team that has performed so badly, and had such an inept managerial team, and become a laughing stock nationwide so quickly, as us this season.
If anyone should feel humiliated, it is the loyal fans, who have been shat on from on high by the very people who should be wooing us and doing everything in their power to serve up a tempting product, i.e. good football.
No, fuck ’em all, let the youngsters have a go, at least they might still have some youthful enthusiasm left, and be able to run for 90 minutes, instead of looking knackered after 30!!!
And I’m not a sadist, I am a Wolves fan, and thereby a true masochist by definition!!
can you believe being berated for wanting the youth to get a chance….saves giving them to other clubs so they can prove we should have kept them..i think we should get a petition going to get the kids playing(joke…before someone gets on their high horse!)
I think the kids would relish the chance to go against the great pretenders, pitty we
could’nt form a petition to ask them,i know what they would say and perform better
than what the so called 1st,team could do imo.
Don’t think the fans would boo them by how many they lose by,i think they would get right behind them after what we’ve seen this season.FOJM.FOTC.
throw in the kids!!! what like the youth are children?? and why not … can you give me one good reason why the 11 jobsworths deserve being played?? weve been badly let down this season and i for one would give the youth a chance and i bet they would put a proper shift in unlike some i wont mention! and yes i would love to start a petition but thought it would be great to get one going on this site but obviously you dont cos you think we have been just great this season…….ANDyes i have had some time on my hands mate as i am struggling to find work as a builder going through a down turn so stick that in your pipe and smoke it!!
This is a must-win game for city, whereas we’re out of it (not according to TC, but let’s face it). We’re also crap, so of course it will be a loss.
Given that we seem to have perfected the art of not playing footy of any discernible quality this season I say we should pack the midfield and make life difficult for them to try to limit the damage.
I hope it won’t be as bad as some are predicting: 0-3 loss
If Man city’s last game is anything to go by it’s going to be a tough game. 4-0 loss.
Might be a bit closer than some think 4-1 Man city.
On this new stand versus team investment debate i think you could argue we would have got more points without Roger Johnson and O’hara. If we hadnt paid so much for Johnson surely he would have been dropped after a couple of games.
I think that the Wolves will take a leaf out of Chelsea’s book against Barca – get people behind the ball, defend with their lives, press hard, don’t give City’s match winning players any time on the ball, and hit them on the break.
Result?
4-0 to City.
George, in fairness, was probably just patting the guy on the back
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17783747
Probably the nearest he got to a Reading “player’ all night!!!
He’s George Elokobi, he’ll eat you alive!
‘MISCHIEVOUS West Bromwich Albion supporters are funding the £700 cost of an aircraft to fly a banner over the Molineux home of arch-rivals Wolves.
Albion fans want to taunt Wolves followers with the aerial banner, containing jibes about the club’s probable relegation from the Premier League’
I don’t blame them either, we’d probably do the same too. That’s if their managemement ever allowed their club to become a laughing stock which i think is highly unlikely.
Moxey will charge them for airspace Martin. And a £6 carrier fee for the pilot.
With discount for future block bookings of course.
Tell me why I’d care what those lot think? 😛
now here’s a whole new level of BS from TC… Man City are the best team we could eb facing this weekend and we can still stay up by winning 4 on the bounce…
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2012/04/20/terry-connor-happy-to-be-facing-city/
Check out the pix of the players “training”
A certain Mr Hunt is seen running around.
Thought he was supposed to be done for the season???
I think we should give this BS a comprehensive airing with my considered thoughts in brackets.
‘Terry Connor today insisted he would pick title hopefuls Manchester City as Wolves’ next opponents over any other team. (Eh?)
Connor reckons City’s need to attack to eat into the points difference could be beneficial to Wolves. (Do Wat?)
“If people are saying the race is still open at the top, then what about at the bottom, where the gap is the same?” he said.“Possibly because Man City win more games (Well, yeah)
– they’re at the other end of the table so people think they could conceivably win four on the trot. (Well, yeah)
“They don’t think we can do that because we haven’t done it all season. (Well, no)
“But in a one-off game who knows?” (Right, i’m going down the pub))
Terry Connor is not the brightest spark in the fuse box.
To have ‘achieved’ such an ‘abysmal’ record as he has over the last matches it defies belief that he speaks.
Wolves are not his number one concern, ( as they should be).
If he had cared about the club he’d have shown some dignity and resigned when MM went.
He is a poor excuse of a ‘man’.
It devalues journalism publishing the utter tripe that he expounds.
Couldn’t beieve what I was reading. This sort of thing just makes the club a bigger laughing stock than it already was – something I though impossible. How can anyone take the guy seriously?
A word about the call for a petition. This has been raised as a way of expressing the disgust at the pathetic manner as our club seemingly rolled over and allowed its Premier League status to be relinquished.
Further the outrage at the debacle that ensued the managerial appointment of TC.
More recently the lack of communication from Messrs Moxey and Morgan as to the seriousness of relegation, squad asset selling and the procurement of a decent, experienced manager who can build a squad to challenge for promotion.
The frustrations of all of the above has left me bereft of having a voice. As many are I am a supporter of 50+ years and feel my club is simply not interested in its supporters views.
What a shameful set of circumstances. Where to next?
Cheer up, Alf, we got the European Championships to look forward to, as well as the Olympics.
Doesn’t get much better than that!!!
Then, cricket.
I’m off to join Martin in the pub.
Anyone else wanna meet up with a few fellow Wolves exiles in The Richmond Arms soon?
Which ‘Richmond Arms”?- After reading Terry Connor I need a bottle of whiskey!
It’s on the corner of Fountainview and Richmond Avenue, deep in the heart of uptown Houston!!
agree totally mate…if only the club stopped treating us as a cash cow cos without the fans you aint got a club..just ask the teams that are made to play behind closed doors !
Theres not really much that they can say. If, like some, you are waiting for an apology, good luck with that. Hope you are a patient guy
how terrible we call for a petition and to get the kids on! how terrible we care! at least the youth wouldnt show any fear ….unlike the last 3 months…no keep thngs as they are, same system, same manager , same ceo yeah lets keep things the same way we cos its safe ..yippee
32 points will be enough
Wolves 32
QPR 31
Bolton 29
Blackburn 28
Wolves 2 City 1

Listen
The sound of one hand happy clapping
And what time do you have to be back in the home???
In my therapy group we are currently working on the following issues connected with a narcissistic personality disorder
• Belief that he or she is “special” and unique, and can only be understood by other special people
• Expectation that others will automatically go along with what he or she wants
• Inability to recognize or identify with the feelings, needs, and viewpoints of others
• Envy of others or a belief that others are envious of him or her
• Arrogant behaviour and/or attitude
Sadly there is no cure
So Moxey is in the therapy group with you then ??
Danny, I’m with you man, we all need some ‘Enlightenment’.
Can see TC with his incense, eyes closed, meditating with the lads before kick off.
Willing Buddha to create that 8-0 victory of Man City, in honour of the great, passed over, Boddhisatva, M.M.
A fart from Roger Johnson and its all over now baby blue……
Clapping with one hand. I have to see that!
Evening all! I feel bad for not replying on the petition idea! I have absolutely no qualms doing one, but want it to be as constructive as it could be, and don’t feel doing something now might be the answer, much as I resent the current regime for all manner of reasons.
I still harbour a tiny, slither of hope this mess will result in something positive once the ‘post mortem’ begins. If that results in Connor out, Guedioura and the loanees back and a manager we can relate to and get behind (heck, even an admission of lessons learnt this season) then I’ll keep the ink dry.
if not, I’ll be only too happy to go on the offensive, for what its worth!
Anyway, I’m going for a 3-2 win! Mental.
cheers ben..just been so bloody frustrating and we arent getting heard ..think its why there has been so much bile flying sideways(myself included) i know we arent shareholders but that shouldnt mean we have no voice….l truly love the wolves and only want lasting success but am getting so bloody frustrated…grrrrr!!!!!!!!
No, I thank you mate! I feel pretty chuffed that anyone would think a petition started by me or Tom would ease an ounce of this misery! I agree and share every frustration. I would like to see how feasible it would be to get a place on the parliament for a start. 20,000 visits on here per month must give us a voice, however small. I know the chaps on Molineux mix are represented. I’d relish that!
ben for prime minister!! youre our leader youre our leader!!!!!
Ok, Ben that will do for me if you think it would be better to wait, but with the season almost
over i thought it would have been better for it to be done now so Morgan could ponder and not let that fat greasy bastard Poxey do any more damage to our club.
That to me is and always will be the problem as long as he remains in charge of OUR CLUB.
FOJM,FOTC.
Agree Ben, as despite my pessimism I am fundamentally a lover of Wolves, and even if we are bottom division will still be looking out for us.
Like you, I hope that from this mess of a season there is still the possibility of being ‘positive’.
Perhaps in the summer Morgan will get rid of moxey, TC, set up a director of football and bring in a new, bright manager such as Clarke, Poyet or Di Canio, who can bring out the best in players we already have.
It is a possibility and I am sure Morgan knows, without a petition, we are a pissed off bunch of supporters.
1-0 win to wolves, doyle to score like he should have done against arsenal (because of THAT stupidly amazing save from szczesny) with everyone (even ward!) playing like superheros and us to survive with a last gasp win against wigan!
Can I have some of what your smoking?
cant wait for the season to end…..been too bloody depressing
Wolves 0 Man C 4
Hi guys, ain’t been on for a while. Got a bit sick of all the negativaty. Anyway, I’m wrecked so fancy spouting some shit. Most of you know I was a massive McCarthy fan and always supported him but I do think he needed to go. I thought it should have happened after the Liverpool game, that was the first time I saw his team give up on a game. We’ve never been the most skillful team but Mick always got the best out of average players who never gave in but they bent over and let Liverpool fuck them up the arse. Once that happens you know there’s something really wrong. It was the same during the Albion game. Since Mick’s gone. we haven’t got the results bit I do feel the team is back to playing with spirit. I think Mick had just had enough of the constant battling. Did anyone see him on the panel of pundits for the Barnsley game the other week when he was saying refs make decisions in the Prem depending on who made the tackle and who the tackle was on. I know how he feels, the Premier league really is full of shit.
Relegation, although gutting, isn’t the worst thing in the world. We had many happy years supporting Wolves in the second tier and I think next season will be booming. Fletch, Hennessey and Jarvis are sure to leave but I can’t see anyone else being in high demand. maybe Henry because of his reputation for being a tough bastard. I think we can cope with loosing these players. SEB can bang the goals in at that level as we know too well, Kights and Hammill will be the 2 best wingers in the championship and the Dutch keeper got player of the year at Swansea when they were promoted so he can’t be too bad. If henry does go I’ve seen enough of Davies, and even Jonsonn (Spelling?) to know they’ll cope with anything the Championship has got to throw at them.
Any hoo, I thought we were going to have a really good season and push on to the bottom of the mid table teams but it’s not to be and it’s probably been one of the worst seasons I can remember. I’ve got my season ticket renewed and am looking forward to ripping the Championship apart. I’m hoping we’ll get Chris Hughton or, if M & M are brave enough, Paulo Di Canio in charge and we’ll start the roller coaster all over again. I’ll always support the boys in Old Gold and Black and hope that this is the worst season I will have to endure in my life long support of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The best team in the best city in the world.
If that makes me a happy clapper I’m more than happy to be one.
Welcome back! Lets hope you’re right and that we storm the Championship next season. We’ll all drink to that.
Now that you’ve given your thoughts on Mick what do you think of the way Jesteve (as in Jedward) are running things?
Not a massive fan of either of them but I don’t blame them for our current situation. I think Morgan’s been quite generous with regards to buying players but ultimately we made some bad purchases which isn’t down to Moxey or Morgan. I think they were trying to built a Premiership team slowing, strengthening with a couple of qulity players each year but this seasons 2 big signings have been a real let down and we’ve probably got a weaker team now than when what we finished last season with. Obviously they made a right mess of getting a new manager in, but you have to respect their decision to not talk to other managers behind Mick’s back. However, they got it all wrong and maybe you could say if they’d appointed a decent manager we wouldn’t be where we are now but I’m not so sure these players would have been good enough to keep us up whoever was in charge.
What I really don’t like about them is that they make me feel like they’re taking advantage of the fans loyalty to the club and I’m sure they spend most of their time thinking about how they can drain more money out of us. A prime example being taking away the 10% discount for season ticket holders in the club shop and replacing it with a stupid reward system so that you have to buy something at full price to get a discount off your next purchase, as long as it’s within 28 days. Moxey complaining that too many fans were choosing to watch the games for free in their local rather than paying 30 odd quid to watch horrible football say’s it all really. Does he know how much some people are struggling at the moment to make ends meet? Wolverhampton has been hit worst than most places during the recession so there’s going to be a lot of people who simply can’t afford to go to games any more. For Moxey to critisise them for paying their bills and feeding their kids before they hand over their money to overpaid footballers is absolutely disgraceful and unforgivable.
So no, I don’t like Moxey because all he cares about is how to get more money out of fans and doesn’t even cosider repaying our loyalty with things like free travel to a few away games, which is what them lot down the road do for their fans. The only problem I have with Morgan is the mess he made of replacing Mick, but it was just bad decisions and I think he was trying to do the best by Mick and for the club.
Completely agree with your comments and am still prepared to give Morgan the benefit of the doubt as I feel he’s been badly let down by his Chief Exec.
But if Morgan sticks with Moxey then I’m afraid he’ll be guilty by association and just as bad as Greaseball who I despise.
If Moxey goes all you allude to (and loads of other stuff) can be put down to incompetence/poor judgement and we can celebrate a new beginning.
But if Moxey stays it will be the clearest possible endorsement by the owner of his CEO and I would find that hard to accept.
If emotions run high and differences of opinion emerge here, in the pub or workplace or at the Mol its because we all care so desperately about our first love Wolves.
I doubt there wouldnt be a fag paper between you or Clive or me in our devotion to the old gold and black.
Our differences have been borne out of my (perceived) negativity about all things Moxey. I just think he is not fit for purpose.
But maybe his greatest sin is that he has split us apart as fans and divided a family he’s never been nor ever will be a member of.
We will endure long after he’s gone because WeAreWolves!
Welcome back Nick and please do come back more often, I always enjoy reading your perspective on things.
There’s nothing in the above comment that I don’t agree with. I too was a Mick fan, but my confidence in him rapidly eroded after the Swansea game and like you, Liverpool was the beginning of the end for me because the team just looked dead, something I’d never really witnessed before under McCarthy.
I also have belief that we have the players to bounce straight back, but it does ultimately depend on who is appointed manager and how much say they’re given on who stays and who goes. Lets hope the board get that decision right after a collection of wrong decisions this season.
Di Canio would be a massive call. Can’t really see that one happening. Hughton maybe, but he could yet get Blues back into the Prem, so doubt he’d be interested then. I’m still an advocate of going back in for Curbishley, as in my view there aren’t many others knocking around I’d be particularly pleased with. Solskjaer and Ince would be intriguing for different reasons and I suppose Bruce remains a safe option. Please no to Megson.
How about Solskjaer and Ince like Quinn at Sunderland?
Must be pals from their united days…..
Welcome home!!
Can’t wait for you to write something I disagree with!!
I feel we would all love to be happy clappers, watching a winning team storm whatever division we are in.
What are your thoughts on Bob the builder and greasel?
I’m sure it won’t be too long before I write something you disagree with Clive. See my reply to Scooped for my opinions on them 2 money grabbers.
Forgot to mention that they tried to charge me £10 at the start of the season because I threw my season ticket card away from the previous year, unaware that they don’t issue a new card and you use the same card for the next season. They didn’t go to any effort to let us know this at the end of last season. I didn’t know and neither did my dad and 2 uncles who also have season tickets. Apparently there was a message hidden away somewhere on the website but if you don’t go to that page you’d never know. Why didn’t they put posters up all around the stand and send an e-mail out to everyone, probably because they wanted more people to throw their card away so they can get another £10 out of them. According to the lad on the phone there were a lot of people who had to pay for new one.
I sent them a nasty e-mail and got my £10 back in the end so no real harm done, but it left a very nasty taste in my mouth. Classic Moxey.
I’ve probably told you that before but even us happy clappers like a good moan every now an then.
Delighted to see you back Nick- I’m new to the blog but have been reading it for months… truly enjoy your measured analysis and positive approach.
Biggest loss of the season! It’s on the TV which can only mean one thing…….a heavy defeat.
Tevez & Aguero are on fire at the mo.
Wolves 0-6 City
like everyone on this site i really am so passionate for wolverhampton to be great again ..not just for me or necessarily just for the fans but for the city of wolverhampton and its proud heritage …wolverhampton has been berated for so much over the years including the accent….but its these things that that make the people strong and stand together..all we want is for the team to show some passion and pride and put us back on the footballing map of one of the greats AGAIN..lets bring the local boys through the youth system but we NEED great coaches and scouts!! we need a clearout and start again ..properly this time . but can we fans be patient?? if we can then who knows what the mighty wolves can achieve
Wolves 1-3 Manchester City. May the Force be with you.
My hole family are city fans so not good being a wolves fan. But i wish city all the best, we have nothing to play for and city do. Plus i hate man u just as much as the shit. So 5-1 to city. TC never to be seen at wolves next season.
Going for the old favourite 3 – 1 to City with Wolves two down by half-time. It sounds bad but am actually now hoping that we do not win any of the remaining matches; I wouldn’t want TC to end the season with any glory and be offered a permanent position. I’ll be satisfied with worthwhile performances in the last four games but no wins please or we may get stuck with the TC for next season as well. Not bothering to go tomorrow, it’s a waste of petrol money but will make an effort to see the Everton game just in case it;s the last PL action at the Molineux for a decade.
Just to add some spice on things, if we don’t bean City tomorrow then we’re officially relegated thanks to QPR’s win!
Well looking at the premier league now we are down and thats for certain what ever happens tomorrow afternoon.
One thing i hope tomorrow is that if we do lose, and i think we will, the fans don’t take it out on the players who ever .Total Crap. chooses but vent their anger towards the board and Poxey and i truely hope Morgan finds the will to get rid of the two morons thats been at this club far to long imo.FOJM,FOTC.
2 options:
Concede an early goal, heads drop and the floodgates open OR
A brave backs to the wall 100% effort by all 11 ferocious wolves
Wolves 0 – Citeh 6 – same result either way
if any good comes out of this sorry affair it will be to rebuild from the top down
2 mins from relegation and Steve Morgan is sat in the box laughing his cherry red face off. The fucking cheek of him.
I think he needs a new PR Guy amongst the many others he needs to replace
You beat me to that HKW. What message does that send out to the rather glum looking football supporters out in the open around the ground in the rain as well as the wider footballing world ??
I didn’t consider this before, but I don’t think he gives a sh***. From the whole match that is the image which is now uppermost in my mind, not the goals, not the defeat not even the relegation, just that red-faced tw** laughing his head off with one of his nob-head chums. This is another Morgan gaffe which he should be held to account for, club owner or not.
It actually looked rather offensive to me especially in the context of the last 3 months and the succession of mistakes which have been made by the people who run the club, not the manager nor the players and certainly not the supporters.
i do believe that was a humungous error of judgement…still at least his houses are staying up ..good foundations..well managed sites..enough money to build them..great buisness plan… shame you dont carry those practices out at the wolves eh? no wonder you love moxey…same mould
I thought it was only me that spotted that. WANKER
All of this on a day the shit beat liverpool. Says it all really.
How apt that the rain came lashing down for the last few minutes.
We battled. We fought. We looked good in patches; sometimes very good. But our defence was leaky. We never passed and moved. We couldn’t send over a decent cross even with two out-and-out wingers. We hardly ever looked like scoring. We ultimately came up short.
In just one game: a microcosm of our 3-year stint in the PL.
Well, there we are.
Thanks to Mr. McCarthy for assembling this sorry sack of shit.
Thanks also to Mr. Connor for continuing the fine work started by aforesaid Mr. McCarthy.
Thanks to Mr. Morgan for allowing this farce to run as long as it has,
And finally, of course, thanks to Mr. Moxey for having the financial foresight to oversee and promote such a shambles.
Fuckin’ spin your way out of this, you greasy slimeball!!
No matter how many times in the future I cross the Atlantic, I will NEVER spend another penny on anything related to Wolverhampton Wanderers, as long as Morgan, Moxey or Connor are in any way associated with the club.
YOU THREE, AND CERTAIN PLAYERS, ARE AN INSULT AND AN UTTER FUCKIN’ DISGRACE TO THE NAME OF WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS.
Here’s to three years of Premiership football – I’ll be remembering the wins against the likes of Man U, Man City, Tottenham twice etc…
And here’s for Wolves taking the Championship by storm! See if we can’t jump straight back up! I don’t really feel sad about this because the writing’s been on the wall for ages but it feels weird now relegation has been confirmed… a bit like how I felt after McCarthy’s sacking – change is coming!
Yes it’s been on the cards since the last match of last season and what did the powers that be within the club do about it then, nothing. The slide continued into Oct/Nov/Dec and the same response.
Hindsight tells us that MM’s approach was sadly lacking and he’d probably taken the club as far as he could. Several senior players did not step up to the plate, the issue with the new captain came back to haunt MM and disrupt the equilibrium within the squad, so MM withdrew into picking players he trusted but continued to let everyone down.A good team performance, competitive, a good shift blah, blah, blah……same old same old.
Everyone could see what was happening, including Noddy and Big-ears and I’m sure that MM must have had his list of targets during the close season and early season but he was most likely told,
” No, you’ve spent enough already without big wages as well, sort it out on a budget ”
So bye, bye MM, no new manager, hello TC, bye, bye PL hello CH again.
I dread to think what’s in store in the next episode.
The problem with taking the Championship by storm is that it will probably be done with the nucleus of this sorry team, and then where will we be?
Back in the prem with the same useless cretins.
No, we need a complete clean out, from top to bottom, of everyone.
Those good enough to play in the Prem…yes we have a couple….should be sold, the rest should be penciled into the stiffs, and new blood/youngsters brought in, together with a new manager, coaching staff, training staff, phone answerers, tea lady, groundsman, ball boys, turnstile operators….the fuckin’ lot.
Sack ’em all!! Long live the Revolution!!!
Fuck this, I’m off to the pub!!!
yes yes yes and yes…glad to see pr guru miss moxey has been ensuring miss morgan acts appropriatelyat such a stressful moment…sack em all..
It’s odd. I don’t feel anything at all. I thought relegation would bring at least a sense of relief to a degree, but no. Nothing. Completely devoid of any emotion or drive, almost to the degree of TC’s tactics.
This is a sad state of affairs. I too saw Morgan having a good laugh. What he has go to be so cheerful about I have no fucking idea. Let’s see if he steps on to the pitch for our last home game and gives a speech. That’ll go down just as quickly as the team.
Roll on Peterbrough.
£350 odd million in the bank for starters.
now thats something id give money to see…bet the health and safety mob stop him from going on the pitch in case a nasty fan shouts something rude!! mind you if he does do it, in a strange way i will respect him for that..god im going soft ! very strange at the moment..a bit surreal oh well at least well have something to moan about in the pub….rip
I didn’t see the game, nor Morgan’s pleasure.
A sad day for Wolves.
We had an opportunity but it was wasted.
My feeling is we are in big trouble.
I support a club run by people who do not care about ‘supporters’.
Their own, ‘economic’ dream supersedes ‘football’.
Also I am certain that everyone else sees it, including the players.
A tragic end to our venture into the big time.
Let’s hope funny guy Morgan grows some balls and tells us the supporters; on which the economy of WWFC depends, what the F… is going on ?
So here’s a question.
Which team, in Premiership history, has had the most players relegated two or more times from the Prem?
I bet it’s us!!
Johnson, Fletcher, Doyle, O Hara, Hunt, Craddock(?)
Any others?
What about Sunderland under Mick McCarthy? Relegated when he took over and relegated when he brought ’em back up!
For once this season I left the Molineux today with a sense of both pride and optimism after a gutsy, brave performance. Respect to all of the players for giving it a real go.
And you know what it’s only football and we are going to be fine. For me noting sums it up better than…
Forever. We are Wolves.
I see Albion are just one point short of double our points(probably end up with more than double) which shows the size of this disaster. And Morgan sits in the stand laughing his balls off.
The contempt for the supporters shows no bounds.
Can’t believe what I saw today when it was certain we were down Morgan laughing his bollocks off!! I agree with Clive as long as the current regime is at the Wolves and how insignificant it may be I will not spend another penny

THAT SORT OF PERFORMANCE ALL SEASON AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN MID TABLE. YES I KNOW I’M SHOUTING.
I read somewhere the only thing you can do with relentless negativity is to ignore it – let it stew in its own juice.Perhaps this is why for much of the time we only hear from the same cliche of contributers.
As for ‘Morons’ smile it was an unfortunate moment caught on camera ( i watched it on tv too ). To be fair he has looked worried sick for most of the season but that wont stop some supporters beating him with any stick to hand.
9 home defeats on the trot, 16 points from the last 32 games, half the number of points as a little old club down the road. That is what i call relentless negativity!
Alright guys, take it from someone who’s had the same feelings as you, when we were relegated it was a farce, overpaid players with no heart (micheal owen), managerial shambles and what seemed like an owner who was pressing the self destruct button….so i kinda agree with alot thats been said.
I dont know how or when bit you’ll be back after some rebuilding in the championship. sorry to see you go…wouldve loved it if villa had taken your place ..
