It would seem Steve Bruce is once again in vogue.

Yes, the man Wolves deemed too unfashionable little over 12 months ago is now on the cusp of guiding Hull back to the Premier League, as we slip ever closer to League One.
I’ll hold my hands up here. When Mick McCarthy left, I categorically did not want Bruce at Wolves. I declared this publicly.
Tarnished with the stink of failure at Sunderland I didn’t believe he was the man to move us forward.
However, had I known then that in overlooking the former Blues and Wigan manager, our hierarchy would turn to Terry Connor, I would have soon changed my opinion.
Equally, if I’d thought for one moment our chairman would subsequently make an experimental long term appointment in StΓ₯le Solbakken only to abandon the project six months later, my thought process would have been much different.
And yes, had it crossed my mind that Steve Morgan would then turn to Dean Saunders, a manager already boasting a Championship relegation, to save us from that very fate, I would have welcomed Brucie with open arms.
My point is this; regardless of fan pressure, Jez and Steve should have turned to Bruce last February when it became obvious he was the only viable candidate. They might call that ‘hindsight’, I would say it’s common sense.
In the here and now, Hull are possibly just one victory away from promotion. With four games to go, they lead Watford by 6 points. They’ll fancy their chances of getting that win tomorrow against a Wolves team crumbling away.
The Tigers away form is formidable with 11 victories already, giving them the joint best record in the league (with Watford).
Wolves
With Jamie O’Hara deciding he’s had enough for the season, our options are even more ridiculously limited. If Dean Saunders can conjure up survival now he’ll have done something right. This would probably be my XI:

From what I saw on Saturday, Doumbia looks too far off the pace to be considered an option. I would opt for a deep lying central midfield to protect our frail defence in the hope the front four can make something happen.
Dicko is another option. He could play wide right or up front. Others will feel it’s time to bring Batth in again too. I’m not as sure.
Predictions
Only 4 people dared to believe we’d get turned over by Huddersfield on Saturday.
Old goldy 1877 got the 3-1 scoreline too, so he gets the maximum 2 points on offer. It’s a single for the others.
Like everyone else I feel pretty downtrodden after the weekend. The manner in which we capitulated so quickly after their second goal was reminiscent of last season’s car crash.
I can therefore predict nothing but defeat and simply hope for better.
3-1 to Hull.
Up The Wolves.

Hindsight IS a wonderful thing.
Easy to say we should have gotten Steve Bruce in hindsight, though you do make a good point with the subsequent appointment of Connor – I believe them turning him down had more to do with fan backlash than anything. If we’d appointed him and if he’d failed to keep us up…
Then again fan opinion would have had O’Driscoll here instead of Saunders and though he hasn’t turned things around at Bristol City he didn’t have a transfer window so hard call there (ignoring that Saunders was the alternative)
As for the game – we need to win this one probably.
…….
2-0 defeat
HA HA HA we are now simply doing this in jest right … fucking abortion from top to bottom, laughing stock of the football league, not even leigh friffiths would be tempted back by league 1 footie … and yet us sad saps still bother with our two pence..
fuck the lot of them, lets get this season done and dusted, fuck henry ohara doyle johnson ward all off.. sell siggy seb and sako .. and settle down to some academy football in league 1 2014
please morgan, moxey, saunders, for the first time in your wolves’ tenure do something right and get the fuck out of this club…
scoreline – i dont give a shit, blow my mind with a 4-1 to the wolves and i still wouldn fucking care
sayonara you parasitic cunts…
Sorry mate just read your Blogg and pissed my self laughing thank you for that I hole heartily agree with your Blogg, thanks for cheering me up.
and as the curtain falls i turn round to look at the audience and the place is empty….thanks mr morgan for nothing …
To Be Honest I don’t think it would make a blind bit of Difference if we had taken Bruce or Not.
These Over the hill players have already seen off 3 managers. Saunders will be the 4th.
the players are mercenaries and will take down anyone who stands in their way of an easy life with a fat pay Chq every month.
Just look at that idiot Ohara auditioning on Saturday for “I’m a Celebrity get me out of here”
Bruce is no better than McCarthy. Conner, Solbakken and Saunders are worse than the pair of them.
Why sack MM in the first place if the plan was to never bring in anyone better…
All the Fans can see that so why cant the 2 baffoons running (Ruining) the club…
Morgan OUT !!! Moxey OUT!!! Saunders OUT!!!
I don’t think the club really could have appointed Bruce. I think you’re a bit harsh on Moxey and Morgan there, Thomas. I think back and remember the awful backlash which ensued when the Bruce story broke and it was impossible for them to have appointed Bruce. Public relations were already fraught and it would have been worse than appointing TC to have appointed Bruce when there was such an anti-Bruce feeling among the supporters.
I don’t buy this “Morgan and Moxey taking the club for all it’s worth” and “don’t care about the club” etc etc. I think they both genuinely care about Wolves. I think all the decisions they have made have been with the best of intentions and, unfortunately, some of them just haven’t come off.
This season, I think, is more the fault of senior players than of the club’s top brass. Although please don’t think I’m totally excusing them and saying they’re blameless. Everyone in the club has questions to answer.
Dean Saunders is completely and utterly clueless and out of his depth. He cuts a figure similar to TC when he’s stood out there scratching his head with absolutely no idea what to do next. All he needs is a clipboard.
Game over. Time to look forward to Burton Albion away next season.
Wolves 0-4 Hull City
I disagree, I think they could easily have appointed Bruce.
The anti-Bruce feeling was only present when other more attractive candidates were on the table. Once every manager and their dog had knocked us back, they should have swallowed their pride and given Bruce the gig.
By the time TC was announced, the fans were punch drunk from the whole farce. They’d have given anyone a chance.
It was pride and inflated egos that got in the way. We all knew Bruce was the standby choice if MM and JM failed to get anyone else and they just refused to admit this failure by hiring him.
‘I think youβre a bit harsh on Moxey and Morgan there’
Really ?
The story of Wolves over the last 18 months is one of either greed/asset stripping by those in charge or the greatest example of gross incompetence by anyone running a business in the last decade. There is no third explanation. Given that Morgan is a proven success in business and Moxey (we are told) is the best in his particular area of expertise (whatever that may be) I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions.
I refuse to believe that Morgan is asset stripping. Greed? Possibly. But not in the way of “How can Steve Morgan make more money?”. More in the way of trying to run before we could walk in the Premiership.
I’m not saying it’s harsh on Moxey and Morgan for giving them a big share of the blame for the mess we’re in. They deserve a very large share in that blame. I’m just saying it is harsh to suggest they should have appointed Bruce anyway.
Consider Wolves simply as a company where a story breaks that the company is going to make a decision which is going to have a profound impact on the running of the company for the next, say, 3 years. A sizeable percentage of the company’s most numerous stakeholder group then reacts by vociferously and angrily opposing the decision. Does that company continue down that road or does it change the decision to appease the stakeholders? I would suggest that most companies would change direction and that Morgan and Moxey were simply doing what most other businesses would do placed in their position. And that’s considering it as a business and not a football club where passions run that much higher.
Maybe it was greed, maybe it was gross incompetence, maybe it was simply an unfortunate series of events that were unlucky. I don’t know. I never will and neither will anyone else outside that boardroom. Please don’t think I’m giving Morgan and Moxey a get out of jail free card here. They have serious questions to answer regarding the position we’re in, but I do think that appointing Bruce after the reaction among fans to the story was simply not a viable option.
My apologies – I meant to highlight your comment ‘I think they both genuinely care about Wolves.’ rather than the reference to Bruce.
But on that subject I can’t say I saw Bruce as a viable candidate at the time. His record was not dissimilar to McCarthy’s and whilst he may have kept us up, or even seen us relegated and got us promoted back to the Prem, what then ? His record at the top level is not exactly distinguished. I will give Morgan/Moxey credit for trying Solbakken, but if you’re going to try and have a ‘cultural revolution’ then you have to give the man in charge time and resources to produce the required results. Sacking him simply sent a message to the players that they could pretty much do as they wished and there would be no consequences for them. Tonight we may well reap the rewards of that decision.
Ah, I see. Sorry!!
I think they do care. I think it’s just all been a bit misguided and things have gone pear-shaped.
I totally agree with you about the Solbakken revolution. They needed to do it and stand by their convictions or not do it at all. Not back out part way through. Although, unfortunately, I’m not sure what way back there was after the fiasco that was Luton Town.
The man I wanted to see in charge after TC has just led his team to a 3-0 victory away at Newcastle. But unfortunately he’s too maverick/controversial/strong-willed for Moxey and Morgan. So that was never going to happen.
The trouble is that Moxey is al revenue, there’s no one on the board advising on football matters Morgan is just a fan and Moxey an accountant there’s no one there to say hang on if you do that then you need to consider the effect it’s going to have on the football side of t hings. John Richards, Graham Taylor some one like that to put the case from the football side of things instead of just thinking about the money side of things
To many ” things “do think !
Not one wolves fan wanted steve bruce. There was an online petition of several thousand against him. Morgan bottled it, which at the time was right as the fans were up in arms. We were expecting curbishley / wilkins etc. Where morgan fucked up was the lies him and moxey said, raising our hopes and then giving it to clipboard. Hindsight shows every decision morgan has had to make, he has got wrong. I didnt want steve bruce, but i dont think mourinio / ferguson / clough could have done anything with this group of wank footballers, esp when supported with lack of finance from the board. Glad ohara not playing and fully expect us to be relegated. Wolves 0 hull 2
Not strictly true mate. Check the E and S site Feb’12.At least a dozen of us stated Bruce was the best candidate available. It was player power that did for us via a telephone conversation with Jez Moxey that changed Steve Morgan’s mind. Also if Morgan was so good at listening to the concerns of the fans, how come he failed to sign anyone in Jan?
Fair play to you and the other 11. I agree that since morgan listened to the fans with regards bruce, he has not listened once. He didnt over, clipboard, solbakken or saunders.
Looks like the only team left to pick Thomas .
I’m not sure about Batth yet and Cassidy isn’t ready for this level yet.
Moxey is on record that fan pressure swayed the decision not to appoint Bruce.. That same fan pressure to rid this club of fat Moxey is off the barometer scale now .. why doesn’t he get swayed by that and piss off.
It’s a case of ups and downs tomorrow night. Hull will be as good as promoted and we will be as good as relegated.
I’m sure that Bruce won’t find any self satisfaction if it turns out that way tomorrow. He’s got more dignity than our two mercenaries at the helm.
Wolves 0 – 2 Hull.
2-1 defeat I’m afraid.
Gutted we are in this mess and just don’t see any way out from here.
Wolves 3-1 Hull.
There will be a mix up Granny Bruce (eyesight failing) will get confused as the two clubs strips are quite similar colours. He will wander into the home dressing room and tell us exactly how to play the game believing that he’s addressing his own team. Saunders will hide, taking notes in the background. Our team, too dumb to realise, will play the tactics given against Hull – shocked at the new insightful nature of Saunders’ (new) assistant’s teamtalk.
We will go on and win, amazing what some tactics can do for a team.
We will then romp to victory in all our remaining games as Saunders simply trots out Bruce’s tactics in each pre-match chinwag.
I have a dream. We all go home happy.Lots of smiling faces as I walk down Waterloo Road, with Billy Wright looking on.First time I can remember seeing Hull at Molineux was the home debut of a certain Derek Dougan. We won 4-0,the Doog got 3 of them.If only……
sadly in my dream the billy wright statue climbed down and threw itself under a bus …
In my dream, Billy climbed off, and tried to play. Unfortunately, he was too slow, too behind the times, and stuck in a time warp.
And just in case I’ve confused you, I was talking about the statue, not the current team……..
all weve got left is our humour….it feels like weve been raped and pillaged by those standing in their ivory towers dumping on us from a great height whilst filling their pockets . WTID
And you see folks, sometimes dreams come true.
Morgan and moxey showed what a pair of spineless xxxxx (fill in the blanks) they are when they didnt turn up when we played mad mick and ipswich at xmas. According to bruce, he was offered the job and accepted. He was waiting for the contract, but wolves changed their mind when the fans went ape shit. I bet morgan and moxey dont turn up tomorrow night either.
Agree with your team. Would probably drop Johnson for Batth though. I think Foley has to come in as Doumbia was even worse than O’Hara and Henry. Will we be able to off load players like Henry, O’Hara and Johnson? Who would possibly want them on their inflated wages? O’Hara is either not fit or couldn’t care less. His behaviour was a disgrace on saturday. I think some of the other players are generally trying l just think their confidence is just completely shot.
I can’t see us winning another game. No wonder the Donny Rovers fans weren’t upset when Saunders left. I hope they don’t expect us to pay Β£28 to watch this dross in Division 1.
Hull will smash us 0-4. Every player rubbish Saturday bar siggy and Robinson. We have an awful manager and an owner incapable of taking and making the right footballing decision. Fed up of bullshit, lets get on with planning for relegation and getting a decent manager in. I don’t want one more piece of pr crap. Say we were crap and i made crap decisions, say what they were and how you will remedy it. Give us something to hope for, not this cycle of rubbish decision making and synthetic platitudes. MAN UP !
Perhaps time to at least regain some of our lost pride with a hard fought performance even if we lose the game. To continue a favourite theme at the Molineux, let’s have Hunt scoring against his old club, trouble is no matter how many we score, our defence will let in more. Hull Don’t draw so the only likely option is another defeat for Wolves, not that it really makes any difference now as the likelihood of staying up has passed. After the good turn out on Saturday, expect a poor attendance with many deciding not to bother; I’m certainly in two minds as to whether the 100 mile round trip is worthwhile to see more of what we saw at the weekend. Hull 4 Wolves 1
Hull 4-0 Wolves. DS to get the sack following the season, D. Ferguson to get the nod.
As a Hull City fan, I’m aware that we never do things easily….so I’m going to predict a 2-1 defeat for us, to make our promotion push as hard as possible.
Dave,
you could bring your tea ladies and ground staff and play them, and it would still be your easiest win of the season.
We are that bad we could set a new record and score minus 1 !!!
Wish we were like the Houston Dynamo, just set a new MLS record, 35 matches unbeaten at home in all competitions!
Wankers 0 Hull 6
As a Hull City fan it saddens me to read these comments. I still think of Wolves as a great club with great fans and not just because we play in the same colours. You are true fans to be so passionate about your club and I really hope you do not get relegated this season.
I am not certain if Steve Bruce was ready a year ago to do a good job for you, he had a bad time at Sunderland with their fans against him and wouldn’t have been happy to walk into a similar situation. He has been brilliant at Hull, but had the basis of a good squad courtesy of Nigel Pearson. We have also been fortunate to be saved from administration (Β£50m) by a rich Egyptian who made his money over 40 years in Hull and has been influential in getting fellow countrymen Elmohamady and Gedo (and Fathi) to play so well for us.
Forecast – I would be happy with a draw 1-1
Good luck for the future, a club like yours deserves to be in the premiership, not League 1
PS Do NOT appoint Nigel Pearson when he gets sacked from Leicester. He can bring good players in but does not have any idea how to get the best out of them. He also hates talking to the press and doesn’t believe the fans are in any way important.
He would fit in well at the Molineux then!
Thanks for your kind words, good luck in the Prem, and kick the crap out of A…..n for us!!
Cheers Arthur for your contribution and your sympathy.
I’ll pick you up on one thing though – no club deserves to be in the Premier Division.
You have to earn the right and the Wolves haven’t even remotely earned that right in the last eighteen months.
We have a glittering history – at one time in the 50s you could make an argument for us being the best team in the World – but that’s a lifetime ago and we can’t really make an argument for being the best team in Division 1 next season.
Your lot have (nearly), so best of luck and as Clive says, make sure you take 6 points off the Albion next year. It’ll give us something to cheer about.
Thanks theDOOGooder for correcting me as far as “deserving the right”. In defence I must say I have been living in Leeds for 25 years and their fans still believe they are in the Premier League only the teams have changed.
I am worried for the game tonight though, as all too often teams towards the top think they will automatically win against teams lower down. Hull are guilty of this and are only likely to play at 75%. They are susceptible to conceding an early goal which will give your fans a lift and make it very difficult for us. You could win this game and that’s why I will be happy with a 1-1 draw.
thanks , good luck with the Premier league , you deserve it. And lets hope you beat the S****. Oh happy days that would be.
Back in the predictor. It’s all i’ve got left to win…
5-0 to hull. Quite literally. No Hyperbole here. Just a complete loss of faith.
Some hopes not so long ago – Curbishley to take over the Wolves, I’d have settled for that but others had different idea’s, “lets do it on the cheap with fingers and everything else crossed” but it didn’t work,
Now its sheer blind panic – Darren Furguson, whats wrong with Micky Mouse.
I don’t think Bruce would have been a success at Wolves.
It is the board that is the problem.
The chairman has no respect for any of his managers and he has shown that.
Our position is a result of bad policies from the CEO.
Unless we get a saviour, the next stop will be bankruptcy for the club, (not for Morgan).
Ah well I shall dream of us winning 6-0…..
Reality result Hull 3 Wolves 0
Pick Johnson and lose. He has managed to get us relegated twice.
Batth must come in. Foley has tried midfield; he’s no good there. You can’t pick Hammill over Peszko. WHATEVER the cost Peszko must play. Doumbia is a good midfielder who has lost confidence. He has to step up to the plate now. And Karl Henry has to put himself about… and if that results in him getting sent off well at least we’ll go out fighting.
we need 2 from 4 and this won’t be one of them
Hull due a draw and so are we 2-2.
Johnson is undoubtably the worst centre half I have seen at Molineaux per pound spent. He has a 3 iron for a right foot, poor positional sense and turns like a tanker…he can head the ball but not always in the direction that he would like and yet the south bank seem to love him…..beer goggles again I say
Sack the fat man
For the first time, I think we are going down. Sat was awfull. Ive never felt so let down by a group of players before-the’re not a team.
DeVries – accomplished, Johnson – inept, Gorkss – no better than what’s here, Robinson/Doherty – good fullbacks both have future, Henry – hopeless, O’hara – finished/disgrace, Hunt – a tryer, Ward – not good enough, Siggy – few good games but off boil, Doyle – a waste.
Don’t add up to much of a team. Saunders – very limited and out of his depth.
Wolves 1 Hull C1

It seems we have all given up, me included. I thought saturday would’nt be easy the few form players we had injured but I never expected us to give up with an hour to go and at 1-1
A few years back henry was a big part of getting us up who was that shadow out there and as for O’hara no where near fit and just plain stupid for me these two where resposible for saturday . If a team as poor as huddersfield can run through us heaven help us tomorrow.
While there is hope we have to try and support and like a fool I’m even going to Charlton but in all my 47 years at molineux have I felt so let down . Thanks Mr. Morgan you will sooner or later sack Saunders but be honest you never gave him a chance transfers or loans .Basicaly this is his fault as was Conner and Solbakken.
For what it’s worth I’ll go 2-2 its not what I believe but I’ll always be Wolves and hope goes on
Wolves coming full circle.
“Oh what fun we have when we exist”
1-5
1-1. Best I can see….but predict 3-0 to hull
Sack the fat man
Going to get thumped. Wolves 2, Hull 5
Sad to see this great club slip into another league. This will be the final death of Wolves tomorrow night. Hull will score 3 in less than 30 minutes, ease of, we’ll get 2 back and they will put the game away.
Saunders, you are fucking pathetic.
After 6 minutes injury time the score somehow remains …
Wolves 1 (Sig on 56) Hull 0
Oh well, 1 minute off the time of the goal and 1 minute shy on injury time. Still you can’t be right all the time!
COYW and FO all the pathetic WBA trolls on here. (I guess they are tooked up with Pam and her five sisters by now)
Credit to you Thomas for maintaining this blog when all that remains at our once wonderful club is abject apathy.
If I was wring this blog it would simply read “Who gives a f**k”
It is not hindsight; it is totally common sense. You are spot on Thomas! Choices are all relative; I too had hoped for better than Bruce, but looking at the bizarre selections we got, then yes, absolutely, Bruce would have been better than any of the ones we got.
Still, a clown is what we have now, and tomorrow will be another display of Laurel and Hardy standards. Our clown will still claim he will get 3 more wins though. Surely Morgan must be consulting with the experts in the 4th division clubs by now for yet another (cheaper) recommendation for a new manager.
Wolves 0 – Hull 4
It is all pointing obviously to relegation but I just can’t let myself admit it til mathematics add up. 2-1 wolves , another 3 game winning streak and a loss on may 4th . Just enough to survive. I can’t bear to think where the club will go if we go down….
I just read the following quotes from Saunders:
βIβm sure supporters get fed-up of me saying that we could have got Βsomething from this game or that. Their frustration is Βunderstandable, and in truth theyβve probably been feeling that way for two or three years now. Itβs been like a runaway train for the last couple of years, but itβs coming to a stop and once youβve done that you can get it going the other way. Iβve been brought here to turn it around and get it going the other way β and all is not lost.ββ
Is this guy for f***ing real? Is he really this deluded, or is he just plain dumb? What does he really think he’s turned around? What does he know about how fans have been feeling and for how long? Patronizing git.
We just want results, you idiot, and you haven’t been delivering!
I too like other Tiger fans am disappointed to see all the negative comments posted here from fans of a truly great club like Wolves. All clubs experience good and bad times, and with your fan base and tradition you will bounce back and will at some time shortly enjoy the good times again. I urge you to keep the faith, we have bounced back from enough bad times to prove that things can turn around very quickly. Directors, managers players come and go, but fans are the constant and you must keep the faith in your club despite the ineptitude of your current hierarchy, your support of the club is still required. Good luck for the rest of the season except tonight, you can still do it, keep the faith.
Saunders is trying to point out that Wolves were in long term decline when he took over so can’t be blamed. However he is obviously not the manager to stop the rot and turn us round, he really does not have a clue what to do; although no other manager, even MM could get those tired old lags to exert themselves. It is the top management who need to change things round, MORGAN has a huge obligation to make it up to Sir Jack and for fans for messing up so badly.
Result 3 – 1 to Hull π I can’t see us getting anything from this game if the stats are anything to go by but stranger things have happened, I didn’t ever think we would be in the position we are now this time last year.
“… unfortunately, some of them just havenβt come off.” SOME of them?!! Some understatement that.
Sorry, that was supposed to be a reply to TW above.
I’ve got a funny feeling we’re going to win this one. Nothing to do with football(except the absence of the statuesque O’hara) just psychology. We think we’ve blown it and nothing is expected by the fans. Hull are so close and getting over the finish line is the hardest bit. I’m going for a 2-1 win.
Wolves 2 Hull 1
Both Wolves goals scored in extra time
wolves 1 – 3 hull ..or board 6 – 0 fans – tis the final curtain tonight but i would still rather wolves over any top 6 prem. side …WTID
Hope against hope that Hull are feeling the pressure to get a result and freeze a bit.
Wolves 1 – Hull 1
Yesterday evening on BBC Midlands news Beano says with a smug sly grin on his mug “We need 3 results from 4 games” “Two wins and a draw might be enough” Talk about stating the blindingly obvious. This was so so much the wrong appointment for our club. When we go down sack him with immediate effect and no pay off and start the search for a real man and manager who knows what they are doing in the lower leagues. I’m off to smash a golf ball about to relieve my anger and frustration.
Hull may well freeze, or anyway relax a bit as they have another easy chance at home against Bristol City on Friday. Here’s our big chance to fool all the doom mongers ( maybe ! ) . Who will step up to the plate ? Hunt again ? An unexpected win for Wolves, 3-2 .
doom mongers ? are you living under a rock ? we are plummetting down the leagues with ZERO evidence to suggest our direction changing any time soon and you call people doom mongers … i guess if you’re not a doom monger than you must be deluded … clap clap clap … keep clapping til there is no club to clap about… oh what the heck, keep clapping anyways…
well, Ad, I did say maybe ! I’ll be there tonight hoping for my ironic prediction to come true, but must admit I’ve been looking at the map to find Crawley, Yeovil, and Harlepool. There have been some unlikely results in this league all season, but none yet for Wolves, eh ! Watford beat Hull, Peterborough beat Watford………………………
Got to think it will be the final nail in the coffin to-night, but while it si still possible to stay up, still need you guys to believe. The problem we have at the Wolves we lack leadership from the top and it seems apathy abounds throughout the club. Good luck to you guys going tonight. Will be at least a decade before we get back to the promised land if we get relegated.
To the senior players who are dragging our once great club through the mud. Hang your heads in shame, move on and ruin some other club.
I think if we get a shedload more injuries tonight then Pzesko might be on the bench for the next game. Numb, almost past caring.
Wolves 1 Hull 2
It’s pretty academic but it would have been interesting to see Paolo Di Canio given the gig at Wolves.
I would have paid the price of a season ticket just to see him giving the hair dryer treatment to the lazy, spineless, bunch of losers in our dressing room.
I think Wolves fans are great. Why? Because of their loyalty and, on the whole, their decency. The facts speak for themselves, after all these matches in charge, Dean Saunders has had four, count them, 4 wins!! No bounce for a new manager there. If we had appointed anyone eese who took over a club in the champonship (ie Flintcroft, Goodman or Forest manager, we would be mid table now at least. Thanks Steve Morgan for appointing your ex-Liverpool golfing buddy-nepotism always pays off. It’s unreal, and yet Dean Saunders is still accorded a degree of respect, and he has been truely awful, elsewhere he would be sacked. You have to laugh or you would cry.
As far as predicting the result tonight is concerned, I really haven’t got a clue. (No change there then).
If Hull score early we could be on the wrong end of a cricket score……. but if we get the first one, Hull are going to become nervous……. but then so will we because we won’t know whether to go for another or sit back and try and hold out…… but there’s just the chance that this will be the day that it all comes right…….
Oh! What the hell!
We’re going to lose aren’t we.
Wolves 1-2 Hull
Just for a laugh.
If Brucie had been appointed manager all those months ago:-
TEAM TALK BEFORE MATCH
“All right my loves? I’m in charge. Nice to see you, to see you…..”
HALF TIME TALK
“Midfield – Higher, Higher! Doyler – Give us a twirl!
What do points make?”
POST MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE AFTER A WIN
“Didn’t we do well! Good game, good game!”
ON MEETING MOXEY FOR THE FIRST TIME
“Cuddly toy! Cuddly toy!”
….Or have I totally got the wrong end of the stick?!
I forgot one which only the very old will remember.
AFTER A LOSS
“I’m afraid the clock’s beaten us. Can you come back next week?”
DOOG. Think you need to lie down.
Yes, sorry about that mate.
I think I must have lost my grip on reality for a bit.
Now I know how JM feels.
good game Doog, good game….unlike the one wolves will play tonight.
WW 1 HC 3
Don’t appologise DOOGooder.
That is the only thing that has brought a smile to my face today as I feel like we are sat looking down the barrell of the 3rd Division.
If we loose tonight Brucie may have said to the Championship…….”Nice to see you,…..to see you nice”
We are in a sorry old mess my friends.
Wolves 3, Hull 2……….Yes please barman!
“If we loose tonight Brucie may have said to the Championshipβ¦β¦.βNice to see you,β¦..to see you niceβ
So might we m8!!!!!
My point exactly.
what really scares me is that i even read that in brucies accent in my head….the depression is setting in!!
This has gone beyond a joke. Chris H mentions Doog’s first home game. I was there
With 42,000 in the second division.
Tonight we will lose and the fat lady will start singing.
Wolves 0 Tigers 3
I was in the North Bank that day, third goal of his hatrick, flicked it over his head with the back of his heel, then volleyed it home.
Instant hero worship.
Show me a player, anywhere in the world, who could have such an immediate impact nowadays.
The same score tonight as The Doog’s first home game for us will do me fine……………but it aint gonna happen.
I can still see that goal as if it had happened yesterday.
Wolves 1-3 Hull
Siggy to score, but still a loss..
I wish I was past caring…but that’s the problem, I do.
Wolves 1 – 4 Hull
UTW
Week in week out, I have thought it can’t get any worse, until recently.
Prediction, Wolves 0 v Hull (insert as many as you like, similiar to how our back 4 have offered opposing strikers).
As soon as Hull score in the first 10 minutes, heads will drop (even more) and we will be at least 2 or 3 down by half time. The fans will vent their anger and at full time Saunders will come out with ‘we were unlucky, but we still need 3 wins’ and so it will continue until the end of the season.
Next season we will still have Saunders, as Morgan & Mozey will be counting the pennies, by not sacking him and we can look forward to still having, virtually the same squad, as no manager in their right mind will want to sign the majority of them. The players thought they were too good for the Championship after the Premiership, so how are their overflated ego’s going to cope with League 1 ?
by the way, there is a hint of sarcasm when I said ‘look forward to still having’
The fat lady is clearing her throat and will be singing like a lark after tonight. Hull to win at a canter 4-0. Anyone know when we will get our rebate?
Hold on. Stop press. The Express and Star is reporting that Saunders has said we definitely won’t go down. Phew! Thank The Lord for that. You had me going there for a minute Dean.
Did I read somewhere that Saunders was complaining Morgan hadn`t backed him with funds for signings. Well no great surprise there, Morgan didn`t back MM or Solbakken, he was hoping for a miracle that a new manager would turn it round without spending money.
The only thing the `ruthless` Morgan is interested in is money/profits, and as for tonight the irony is that Bruce – and good luck to him – has almost got Hull promoted. Could he have done that at Wolves without Morgan spending money, probably not.
I hope I`m wrong but just can`t see a Wolves win tonight, however desperately the 3 points are needed, so for me Hull to win 2-0. Then its off to the Valley on Saturday for the relegation party.
Saturday was the big chance, in my eyes. After that drab showing though, and looking at the games we’ve got coming up, I can’t help but feel we’re gone. 1-3 to Hull.
Never thought I’d be seeing the day when we’d be playing the likes of Crawley and Yeovil, that is if they don’t wave at us on the way past into the Championship as we slip into League One.
What surprises me more than anything is how much the attendance levels have dropped at Molineux.
Inexcusable and pitiful.
Inexcusable and pitiful? Please explain why.
Yes, I’d be interested to know why too.
It can’t be any more inexcusable and pitiful than some of the things that have been going on at the Mol.
its because the excitement and anticipation of yet another win is too much to take..probably
Edward,
There were over 23,000 there on Saturday; amazing considering the quality of entertainment on offer. Only a 1000 less than the crowd at Reading/Liverpool.
I can only see more pain for us, Hull to win 2 0
I take my hat off to all our travelling fans – if i wore one, it’ll be a long sad trip home.
Hull to win 1-4
But it’s a home game..
It is 5pm on Tuesday evening and I have suddenly got a pang of enthusiasm and positivity. We will win 1-0.Gorkks to score
Nurse!
The screens!
you are to stop drinking immediately-you know what nursey said. π
A HOME win would keep us guessing
Just typing with a pen in my mouth the jackets on
I’ve always thought that the thing about managers is they are horses for courses. In other words a manager who is successful at one club may not be successful at another.
Steve Bruce was the next England manager before he went to Sunderland and look at Martin O’Neill now. Even the great Cloughie had a bad time at Leeds. Wolves have had their share of appointing managers who were good somewhere else, Mark McGhee for one, but who failed at Molineux.
So whether Steve Bruce would have done anything for Wolves, we’ll never know. I suspect not because the secret is that you must have a good manager and a good board working in harmony. Unfortunately, we don’t have a good board and they work in harmony with no one, so whichever manager they pick is on a hiding to nothing and until Moxey has gone and Morgan remembers that we are a football club and not a financial institution it will ever be thus.
1-1 – I hope
Deano da beano has just declared that Sako is running at 3/4 speed. I’m sure that equates to twice as fast as the back four- bring him on.
Ha ha!
Good one!
Oh I don’t know anymore?
Wolves 2-0 Hull. As if!
I would/should/could say I’d be ver the moon with a point. But since those days went weeks ago….3-1 to Hull I’m afraid.
Interesting that DS doesn’t know what his management future holds. Pity the rest of the players don’t think that, or have thought it for the last few weeks as well.
Singing like a lark did someone say? I’m waiting for the fatman to sing ‘goodbye’, not the fat lady…
2-0 Hull I’m afraid.
I’ll go 1-0 could be doyler.
Im still in shock!
And a special thanks to Barnsley Huddersfield and peterborough, oh and to Hull.
Well done lads.
Didn’t see the boys was stuck on the M180 !!
Well thank god we didn’t appoint Steve Bruce.
If Hull City go up, they will be back down by Xmas.
Now we just need to beat Charlton away and Burnley at home and hope other results go for us.
Don’t want to go to Brighton needing to win
You got it spot on Mate!
Please continue to predict Wolves wins and naming possible scorers.
That could be the type of luck / karma we need.
I see Nouble got 2 for Ipswich tonight.
Couldn’t get a a game here.
That was bound to happen. Sods law.
He fits into Mick’s “hoof and hope” style though. He wouldn’t have worked in Solbakkens team and he was off to reunite with TC by the time saunders came in.
Still. Frustrating isn’t it!?
This league is doing my head in – absolutely crazy.
Well done Doyler, well done Wolves π
INTO THE VALLEY π π π
