This fixture served up one of the darker days in recent Wolves history back in 2013.
The Terriers won 3-1 courtesy of two late Jermaine Beckford goals and Jamie O’Hara was sent off as we limped towards League One.

Huddersfield themselves were down at the bottom and defeat on that dull Saturday afternoon was one of the low points in a miserable season.
It wasn’t a one-off either. Much like Brighton, they’re a bogey team for Wolves and have won 12 of the last 15 matches between the two sides.
They’ll be hoping to keep up that formidable record, but I don’t think a trip to Molineux is quite as appetising these days.
Huddersfield
Although they’re still in the relegation zone things have been looking up for David Wagner of late with 5 points from the last 3 matches.
Fulham were put away to give them a first victory of the campaign, sandwiching hard fought draws against Burnley and West Ham – a game they were leading until late on.

Scoring goals has been a major problem for them and the 6 they’ve mustered thus far is the lowest tally in the top flight.
They’re a wildcard team with a wildcard manager and have turned over a lot of players in the last two or three years. It’s tough to know what to expect from them in any given game.
I think they’re definitely in for a relegation slog, but I don’t think they’re any worse than the other seven teams around them at the wrong end of the table.
The away end
I lifted the following comments from the match thread on a popular Huddersfield town forum.
Just popped into their forum Molineux Mix and they are very, very confident. Comments mainly fall in to the category of ‘We should be beating the likes of Huddersfield’. I think the Wolves fans fall into the category of misplaced arrogance, on a par with Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday. On one thread a poster said we’re not a Premier League club. Oh well! Personally I’m going for 1-1.
We look to have turned the corner in the last couple of games which should give us confidence. They’re an average premier league club as the table proves so we should go there with no fear. They’ve picked up 4 points in their last 5 games which is the same as us. Wolves fans are an arrogant bunch so I wouldn’t pay much attention to them. They have been really lucky with injuries so far with only one player out for a match or more, whereas we’ve been pretty unlucky with 13 injuries so far. Don’t get me wrong they are a decent side with a quality manager, after spending £100m in the summer & a huge wage budget they should be, but we’ve picked up points against better sides in the last couple of seasons so I see no reason we can’t come away with something providing we’re at it. 1-1.
A month ago I’d have had this down as a home banker, but they are starting to struggle after a very impressive start to the season. In contrast, we’ve started to get the results our general level of performance this season has merited. Make no mistake, this is a tough game against a good side, but we are more than capable of getting a result at Molineaux – if we play well. We can’t repeat the poor defensive performance we produced at Watford, but if we press from the front and put them under pressure in possession we can get at them and get a result. Don’t we have a decent recent record against them too? I’m going so I’m hopeful of a good result to back up our good results last week. I reckon the most likely result will be a low-scoring draw. And I’d be happy with that, although I see no reason why, if we replicate our performances from the first halves against Fulham and West Ham, we can’t get a first away win. I just don’t want to see us sitting back like we did at the start of the second half of both those games.
They are better than us and will have this down as a 3 point banker. We are without Zanka and probably the player of the year (so far) on Chris Lowe. I’d take a point.
I can’t believe what some Town fans are saying on here. I’d take a point but I also wouldn’t be surprised if we were comfortably beaten 3 or 4 nil.
We’ve had some good results at Molineux last few seasons we were in same league (I recall watching Beckford getting a couple for us there in a game). They have spent big and I like their manager (if they hadnt got promoted and Wagner had moved on he’d have been on my wish list as a replacement) but we should not fear them, an away point or better is quite achievable if we play like we have recently.
Wolves
The second half against Spurs and the first half against Arsenal reminded us that this group of players are capable of playing on the front foot against the best sides in the league.

Injuries to Jonny and Doherty are a major setback. The latter will probably still play I suspect, but either way I’m fully expecting Vinagre to get a run in the side.
If Doc doesn’t make it, I would throw caution to the wind and play Traore with a view to getting at Huddersfield and overwhelming them with numbers in attack.
The alternative would probably be to play Bennett out there and bring Dendoncker into the middle, but I think we need more thrust out wide, particularly at home.
The poll
Predictions
vicsmith still leads the Prediction League Table at the end of Gameweek 12 with 19 points from 12 predictions. Paddy Day, Wolvo Dave, johnok, Brizzie, LukeW and Teddy Eley are all within striking distance so well done to one and all.
As always if you’d like to take part, simply leave your prediction for the game in the comment section below using the boxes provided. Maintain a consistent email address to see your cumulative score in the overall table.
My prediction, for what little it’s worth based on performance, is down below.

Arrogant bunch are we ? Cant wait to knock the smile off your face come Sunday afternoon. Northern twat ! If we cant beat these lot we should pack up and go home. Hoping that the Doc is good to go if not I agree Traore would be a great option but lets see . In Nuno we trust
COYW. FoWB
It’s not always that easy Dodgo, even against supposedly easier teams, particularly if they ‘park the bus’. If I was a Terrier I’d call you arrogant too for your should pack up and go home remark but, as I’m a Wolf like you, I’ll just predict the correct score so
I don’t want to appear to be arrogant but its comments from other so called supporters from opposing clubs that makes me angry . We are Wolves , we have a decent team , we are NOT a flash in the pan and we have every right to be proud of our team.
UTW
As gutting as the injury to Jonny is, I can’t wait to see Vinagre unleashed. If I was to pick a match where I’d like to see Ruben introduced, this is one.
Bennett at RWB is a no, no for me when the emphasis is on us to attack and take the game to Huddersfield. You could argue the most natural replacement would be Buur, but I highly doubt Nuno will chuck him in. Traore attacking from deep is quite an exciting prospect – Bennett would just have to be extra alert when Huddersfield attack on the counter.
Anyhow, I can see this being a 1-0 hammering similar to Burnley!
UTW!
Close encounter I reckon
They have picked up of late, I know we are at home, but I am going for a score draw.
These international breaks have come bad to us this season,
Why has there been no update on Doherty? You would think they would say if he had a broken bone or something.
Any pictures of him practicing with the team?
He’s been passed fit.
A lot of us will remember, or if you are too young then you will have seen or heard about it, the day the legend that was Derek ‘The Doog’ Dougan made his home debut and hit a glorious hat-trick as we beat Hull 4-0. That was on Saturday 25 March 1967.
What is less known or remembered is that Wolves also had to play on Monday 27 March and Tuesday 28 March. Yes, three important league games in the space of 4 days. Imagine today’s modern footballers being asked to do that! Remember too that this was back in the days before substitutes or player rotation or first team squads – back then it was the first TEAM. So in effect barring an injury, and it’d have had to have been a real bad ‘un, or suspension, which would have been very unusual as in those days you could chop someone’s legs off at the knees with a machete and flamethrower their remains and not even be penalised for a foul, it would have been the same eleven players lining up in all three games.
To make it even more amazing our opponents on the Monday night were also our opponents on the Tuesday night – yes, step forward Huddersfield Town. Imagine that now? Playing the same opposition twice in two days!
We won 1-0 at Huddersfield’s Leeds Road ground on the Monday in front of almost 29,000 people and then beat them by the same score at Molineux on the Tuesday in front of over 40,000. Two fantastic results against a decent team back then which helped set us up for promotion back to the First Division. Happy days.
This weekend I fully expect us to beat Huddersfield quite comfortably. No disrespect to Huddersfield or their seemingly deluded fans, but, well, they are not very good are they! They are in the bottom 3 which is where I expect them to be come next May. They have a couple of decent players in Mooy and Pritchard but no-one I would swap for any of our players thank you very much. Even their manager sounds like he should be playing the third Gestapo officer from the left in a World War 2 blockbuster starring John Mills and Anthony Quayle.
Just don’t mention the war! I did it once but…………………………………………..
OODCL
P.S. If anyone wants a ticket for Cardiff v Wolves and/or Newcastle v Wolves please let me know asap as I have one ticket for each game that I cannot use.
I mention the war in a text the other night Bedders, I defo’ got away with it Ryan.
Everybody will think W T F is he talking about, but Dave knows.
Sunday afternoon I will be in my place in the NBB, see you guys there, have a great weekend.
There can be, and I will listen to no excuses over this one.
This on on paper looks one of the easier fixtures but they are just starting to find a bit of form. They have a couple of players out that doesn’t help them and even though we will probably be without Johnny I expect doc to play. I’ve been waiting to see Vinagree get a run and I think we will put them under a lot of pressure from the off. I’m expecting this to be the game where we actually start scoring a few so my prediction is 3-0. Jimenez with two and Costa to break his duck.
I suspect Doherty has a good chance of playing. The match is Sunday so that’s an extra day. His injury is facial so it doesn’t sound too bad. But injuries can give someone else a proper chance, such as MGW and Traore.
I’m going for Arrogant Bunch 2, Huddersfield Hackers 0.
I thought we would beat Watford 3-0 and look what happened !
International break over and another game against someone we should on paper easily beat.
Vinagre is certain to start on the left which in my humble opinion will re juvinate jota.
I can see us getting at least a couple but I think we may get caught pushing on too much.
We will have too much for them up front and I just can’t see us not turning up again.
Jota cav and Costa all to score.
Agree with Vinagre on the left and we could always bring on Ryan Giles for half an hour or so, like Vinagre this kid is a real prospect.
On the right I would bring Dom Iorfa back in from the cold (who could forget those long gangly legs going up the right wing?) Give him the first half then Traori for the second. Just my opinion, I’m sure whoever Nuno decides to play will be the right decision, after all he sees them in training all the time.
Losing Jonny is a big headache will Nuno give the Belgium guy ago or the young Portugese guy cannot remeber their names let alone spell them.
The Doc should be fit having not played for Ireland. Just a word on Ireland glad O’ Neil has gone the bloke seems to be going Do Lally his treatment of the Doc and his critisium of him were pure madness.
Anyway the game. Udders field are an other bogey team and if we hadn’t played Brighton then I’d have said we would put that to bed as Nuno has done with nearly all our demons BUT we didn’t beat Brighton add the International break and injuries to Jonny and the Doc and I’ve gone back to not stepping on cracks in the pavement.
We have no given right to beat any team and I think this will be a harder game than playing any of the top six in some respects we can relax playing them because we are not expected to win unlike Udders field.
If Doc plays then ill go for a narrow 2.1 win to Wolves but it will not be easy they will be up for it and see it as a chance to continue there recent good results.
All my mates reckon “we should hammer Huddersfield 3 or 4” but for me we’re not YET a 3 or 4 goals-a-game team, we will be, but not just yet. I think we’ll batter them in a Burnley-esque style but there won’t be much to show for it come full time….
#COMBambinos!!!
Had a really strange dream the other night that we win 8~nil.
However 2 weeks ago I dreamt that we beat Arsenal away, 1 ~nil, and look what happened there .
So I’m going with the 8~1 Wolves win
Sounds logical.
Looking forward to Vinagre playing. Like most on this site I think he’s a great prospect.
I think that scoring two goals at international level could work wonders for Jota. Maybe he’ll get two more on Sunday. Which leaves me with an easy prediction.
In case y’all missed it, once again, Happy Thanksgiving to all fellow bloggers, friend and foe alike, Tim!, and all Wolves fans where so ever you may be.
Last infernational break the Watford manager had two weeks to drill his side to combat us, which to be fair, they did.
Bastards.
This time round we are in a sinilar position, where all our players, it seems like, were away in foreign lands and stuff.
However, Nuno learns from experience, and he will have the lads right up there for this one, especially as we are in Europe next Friday.
As to the shudderfield fans, one of whom didn’t even have the good manners to spell the name of our stadium correctly, I say this.
Bollocks.
You are in the relegation zone for a reason.
You are crap and will be relegated with Cardiff and Southampton.
Jota will be brim full of confidence having scored twice for his country, and all the others will be chomping at the bit, raring to go, and any other cliche you can think of.
So, I am off to stuff the turkey, and after that I am going to prepare dinner!!!
Fowb
Happy Thanksgiving Houston, have a great day, spare a thought for the 200 million Albion fans.
Well said Clive ! We are not arrogant we are proud of our team . There’s a big difference
Happy thanksgiving Clive and all you other bloggers out there.
No idea where the heck all our players have been, but like others I remember a limp awful performance against Watford when many expected them to get a thrashing ala a Clive score. Didn’t happen, similar issues last season losing games we shouldn’t have. Don’t think we’re quite on top of that yet.
However Watford scored lots and were up there Huddersfield are not. They’ve had an upturn, but that really doesn’t say much they could hardly have been worse could they.
I hope Jota comes back feeling lighter on his feet, more like his oldself early last season when he was on fire. We get that we win, simples. (I hate them damned Meercats especially the assistant).
Could see Dendoker coming on if he can defend and play in midfield why not in place of Jonny rather than Vinagre maybe, but whomever it is they will take their chance because the won’t be coming round very often we have a very settled team and a 100% consistent style of play.
Forward line should by Costa, Jimenez and Cav to start as they have been great last few games and lets face it Cav is our most likely scorer. Jota to come on after HT and run their terrier legs off so we can finally take them to pieces in final 10mins or so.
I’m sure it will be 3points to the old gold, and a long walk home tail between their legs for the dogo’s
Wolverhampton Wanderers 4
Huddersfield Town 1
I like the Udders, fans are crap but we’ve had some good games down the years.
Like Wolvo Dave, I agree we still don’t have a 3 – 4 nil team yet.
For me, an easy coasting 1-0 to the Wanderers, with Vinagre cheering me up on a cold Sunday afternoon.
Doherty has a slight cut to his cheek and he is fully fit, take more than an elbow in the face to stop him.
Not confident for Sunday I’m afraid. I think Doc will be fine to play but Jonny is a huge loss; he’s consistently our man on the field winning back possession with crunching tackles and I think we’re just solid down that left hand side with him in the team. Good luck to Vinagre but he has big shoes to fill.
If Huddersfield nick an early goal they’re going to be very hard to break down – much like Brighton and Watford were. In that sense it might feel a lot like an old-school Championship game, where teams visiting Molineux used to put 10 men behind the ball and play for the draw. I’ll be praying for a good start, we need to be 2-0 up at half time to feel comfortable.
Doubtful wing backs, international break, bogey team, would in the past be the kiss of death! Not with this team! If we get an early goal we will win very comfortably.
I am really looking forward to our next two home games, Huddersfield and Cardiff. As everyone keeps saying, ‘no easy games in the Prem,’ but surely every Wolves supporter is expecting, if not demanding, six points from these fixtures? I would love to call it 3-0 to us against Huddersfield but as I am going quite well in the prediction league I will settle for 1-0 (and leave the 3-0 win for the game against the man who told Nuno to show class just after telling him to ‘F-off’ on numerous occasions on live T.V.) COYW
Two sides that score very few goals, WWFC score more than Huddersfield.
Close game but a win to the mighty wanderers!!
Having not followed Huddersfield what happened to La Parra?
P.S. If this is allowed on this blog……
Anyone who may have a spare ticket for Spurs away I would be interested.
Email me on shopley@outlook.com
It’s on the cards that Rajiv will play against us come Sunday as they have a few injuries.
Oh, by the way.
Y’all will undoubtedly be pleased to know I have booked me flight to Blighty for the weekend of the Fulham match, last home game of the season.
Ok come on now – what have we done to deserve this?
???
I think will win this game 2.0 just got a good feeling that our recent losing streak (Arsenal aside) will come to an end.
Sorry but we simply cannot lose this one. My local gob on legs Huddersfield supporting drinking buddy would bang on about it for months, or until they score another goal, whichever comes sooner. Vinager on the left for me as well and I wouldn’t mind seeing Saiss back on the pitch for Moutinho, good option in this type of game.
Looking at the opposition they have a bloke in midfield called MOOY. Well let me tell you Udders-field may well be fuckin moo-ing on Sunday after noon as their personnel are systematically dismantled by the rampaging Wolf. Never mind cows and moo-ing and MOOY. The terriers are in for a savage smashing. David Wagner might as well be the composer Wagner and conduct the beautiful symphony that is WWFC as Cav dances around defenders and Cows in the Udders ranks. The terriers reduced to timid whimpering. After the match Nuno said ‘ the fact that our opponents are linked to general livestock or yappy annoying dogs doesn’t phase us. we only look at our shape.our performance. I like David Wagner apart from the fact he sounds like Nena off 99 red balloons’ David Wagner said ‘i loved Nena as a child but it doesn’t do anything for today. In fact you can stuff your fucking balloons up your arse’.
Huddersfield Q? Pmsl. Hope you are well mate.
Meant nil ay it. No worries chap. Sound. Great stuff. Wolves ay we!
The table doesn’t lie
This is it. this is the big win we’ve been waiting for. I thought it was last match, or maybe the one before that, but I was young and mistaken. it’s definitely this one…
We all ‘was young’ Rus. 🙁
Vinagre in for Jonny is a given. As others have said, I think Doc will play but if not, rather than disturb the back three, I would simply bring in Dendonker for a PL debut. Adama is a force going forward but ain’t no defender, and his prowess in attack could well be blunted by a packed Terrier defence. But really, I think and hope the Doc is now fit.
Otherwise, a game we should, and would expect, to win. But there are no cert’s in football and we could be in for a frustrating time.
Early goal please gentlemen.
I think they will come and park their charabanc and look to make it tough for us to break them down. But they will not have reckoned on ‘Zoltan’ Vinagre playing as an out and out winger, as he wished to when he was young (lets face it he’s 19, which is getting on a bit…). He will cause havoc down their right side and a couple of tap-ins will do us nicely.
in a way it will be interesting to see what team Nuno puts out, Can’t see Traore taking any responsibility defending . might he change the formation …………Naaah!
Hoping for a win
First time we have been in this situation this season, interesting to see what replacements Nuno comes up with.
Wolves to win 2-0
Dare we hope that Jota has regained his mojo by scoring twice in the internationals? Will he bring his magic back to Molineux? Will Vinaigre do spellbinding stuff? Gosh, its so exciting is’nt it!
Another fun drive from Norwich but my goodness its worth it – it had better be as its a long way home afterwards.
Hope springs eternal etc, lets get some goals on the plus side and go for three nil.
3-0 for me and a bit of a training match with our goalie reading the paper..
If we don’t treat this as an easy 3 points and lambs to the slaughter we shouldn’t be in the prem.
After Arsenal this is all over by half time ..who said we were arrogant?
Not me Steve, I blame Clive,
Then again we all do.
Yes it was Clive.
Clive did it.
nice photo do you use it to scare the kids away from the fire / stairs Stu ?
I think we might turn the corner and win this one. However Huddersfield will keep it tight and work hard for their manager. Coming back from International breaks always makes me nervous as well !
2-0 Wolves, Cav, Jiminez
Arrogant…
To be, or not to be. That is the question.
My view is that it’s every fan’s God given right to be arrogant when their team’s winning and whining moaners when they’re not.
We are winning and losing in equal measure at the moment so I am, at present, an arrogant whiner.
I do, however, think that after the result this Sunday I will be edging towards full arrogance again. After all, we’re great and the Udders are crap aren’t they?
Ooops! I’ve started too early.
Unfortunately the PMDG’er and I will not be able to make it this weekend so we’ll be tucked up in front of a 47″ fire and a roaring screen watching it on t’telly.
Enjoy the game everyone.
Happy belated thanksgiving to Clive and happy early thanksgiving to Nuno.
And well done to the most accurate long passing central defender in the Prem.
I have a feeling that Nuno is not too concerned about getting wins by 3 goals or more. I think he will be quite happy to defend a 2-0 lead. And so he should. Whether we win 1-0 or 5-0 it is still 3 points. Maybe 1-0 is a bit of a risk to defend, but 2-0 sounds good. So that is what I am settling on. Would be nice to Neves getting on the score sheet with one of his thunderballs.
Just had a quick nose at molineux mix and interestingly their admin person has warned that if anyone hints or advises about illegal download channels they will be banned from blogging for ten days .
What’s going on there then ?
Molineux mix have a representative on the Fans Parliament.
Suggesting such things such as illegal downloading sites and selling (Gold dust) tickets, is going against the grain.
Hmmmmm
Jobsworth perhaps ?
Home banker – 3 valuable points to be acquired.
Wolves 2
Huddersfield 0
Bog, short and not so sweet, not like you, got a date or what?
Hi Witley
Ha ha ha – love your humour.
Good to hear from you.
Trust you are both well.
Will try and make NBB on Sunday probably after the game – my nephew and I are staying over in Wolverhampton on Sunday evening before catching the train home on Monday so we are up for a noggin or two.
Trying to cut down on the ridiculously long blogs – somewhat boring these days methinks!
All the best
Mike
Bog, You are never boring, have a great weekend.
That’s a shame old gold , I look forward to those ridiculously long blogs
Cheers Marney
Actually beteeen you and me ‘er indoors reckons I spend more time writing about Wolves of yesteryear on the blog than doing household chores expected of a retired old git..
“Bloody stupid football” is one the more printable quotes.
Mind you she is right…….Be
Enjoy Sunday!
Ha,ha I know that feeling mate, always something to bloody do eh ! The blogs of yesteryear are the best imo “ if you know your history, then you will know where your coming from “
Bob Marley
Enjoy Sunday
Utw
I negatyfied you coz yoom talking bollix, BOG, your missives are sublime and memory jerkers to all of us over 66.
I think you run out of ink.
Mike, will meeting up with a few bloggers in West Park Cafè around 1 pm and will be outside NBB directly after the game to try to meet up with Bedders. Therefore decline the invite to Sunday Lunch.
Jonny or not, we have to dispatch teams like t’uddersfield if we want to continue our progress onward and upward.
That is not arrogance, just fact.
The only good news re, Jonnys absence is that it unleashes Ruben Vinagre to assalt. n torment their left flank like Doc will their right.
Also, somebody mentioned that Jota has scored?! If this be true a) it’s about bloody time, and b) I look forward to his return to banging ’em in for us! And sooner rather than later please, Diogo.
I’m going big on this one.
UTW
One man’s arrogant is another man’s confident . . . . . . who gives a shit what other supporters think?
Wolves to win (as always!)
Doherty has confirmed that he is fit to play and Vinagre will replace Jonny so that looks like a nicely balanced defence to me. I expect us to win this one comfortably.
After the stellar performance at the Emirates this fixture might look like easy pickings to some. However, it’s still the case that we struggle to convert our chances and to keep a clean sheet. so I’m going for a 1 – 1 draw.
Excited to be back, I expect an early goal which will lead to a comfortable victory for us.
I have seen Huddersfield on the tv a few times and they have been a tad unlucky. At the start of the season Nuno and his staff would look at this game and see it as a good chance to get 3 points. It will be a tough ask but I think we may just edge this game.
Doc is back and expect Vin to go into left back, unless Nuno has another idea up his sleeve.
They don’t score many and neither do we so 1-0 to the Wolves.
Onward’s & Upwards
🙂
I feel sure we’ll be back to our winning ways here.
Let’s hope so sagacious one. Tougher than many bloggers on here think for me. Cav to score in a narrow win. COMBs!
I must confess I was wrong this time ! Didn’t anticipate our worst performance since Nuno took over, or appreciate how much better Huddersfield were than the league table suggested.
I won’t be so confident on Friday, but feel sure they’ll be motivated to put this performance behind them, and only hope we don’t suffer a defeat to Warnock’s Cardiff.
They’ll work hard and make it difficult for us. Not sure they can score but we will – if just the one.
We somehow missed last week’s prediction but would have gone for a defeat. The little ‘un plays her after-school footie in red and white and she had the casting vote so no matter.
But this week we are unanimous for a resounding 4-1 just like the result a couple of years ago when I went up to their John Smith’s place.
Got a Christmas tip for you.
Go to Bilston market. They’re selling slightly soiled Christmas trees at cut down prices.
Ho ho ho
Bonkers
We all missed last week’s prediction, Bonky, we day play!!
Slightly soiled? Pigeons like me been sitting on them then?
I fancy a comfortable win at home, weshouldn’t have much too fear, I think our attacking strength will overwhelm them…
Need 3 Points here before going to Cardiff I think, this would not be a good game to lose and we won’t
Costa and Jota to score
Come on you wolves
Need the points so going against the grain and going for a Huddersfield win, meaning we will win if you get me drift (never get these predictions right)
Feels like an age since the Arsenal game. Hopefully we can get back on track with three points.
Where’s all this arrogance shite coming from? This in the now ain’t arrogance! In three (3) years time when we have won the Prem, FA & Europa League then it still won’t be arrogance!
However the year after when we swapped the Europa for the Champions & go the whole season unbeaten – then yes, that would be arrogant 🙂
Back to Sundays game, us to win easily, comfortably, simply, simply, lovely 🙂
Had considered a Clive but will accept 1 less.
Three up by half time…then who knows..maybe 45 mins of attack vs defence and their goalie MOM?
Sorry if that’s a touch arrogant…but this is the worst team we have played so far
Score some goals, keep a clean sheet.
Pacy play please.
Jota to score.
We are due a big score with all the chances we make but I think this will not be the one (save it for Cardiff!)
Arrogance my arse…. there have been only 3 instances ever of arrogance within the club and thankfully no longer tied to us ….. TWO are captioned in the headline photo (O’harem and Johnny Johnson fell off the wagon.)…. and the THIRD .. and undoubted king of arrogance was Poxey Moxey.
So … up yours kind ‘udders fan….!
And just for good measure think yourself lucky to get 0 goals too… you’re in for a pasting …
Great news that Doherty is available which means probably only one change, Vinagre in for Jonny. It’s always a worry after an international break particularly Jiminez but the good news is that he only played the first game for Mexico and with the game being on a Sunday the extra day will do him and all the other internationals a world of good. Onto the game Huddersfield have picked up of late but if we produce anything like the majority of our performances this season we win the game.
Mick McCarthy will be unveiled as the Republic of Ireland’s new manager at a press conference in Dublin on Sunday.
In England on Friday, the 59-year-old’s representatives finalised the terms of a two-year contract with the option to extend for the World Cup 2022 campaign.
McCarthy’s salary will be close to €1.2 million per year and as expected he will appoint his long-time trusted lieutenant Terry Connor as assistant.
Light the blue touchpaper and wait for comments
So its true, there are still dinosaurs in Ireland!
Kicked out of Ipswich, and look the state he left them in, the dummies in charge of management selection in Ireland have chosen possibly the worst pairing possible in football.
Matt Doherty will do his career no good at all if he gets picked by these two fossils.
Watch Stephen Ward get chosen for their next game.
Who doesn’t love a Connor Coady goal?
Well them tossers behind the goal obviously,
Imagine having crowds that bad. 🙁 🙁
https://mobile.twitter.com/wolves/status/1066247549294731266
Cannot wait to get back to regular football think someone said, that is it now till Feb for the other twaddle. Think Vinagre will grasp his chance and with the next games coming up we have good chances to move up the league.
Not sure about this one. We should be able to lay the historical bogey to rest, as we should the former player hoodoo. I have a lingering doubt, but am going for a decent win – inspired by Ruben V making the most of his opportunities and giving us a more balanced two-sided approach than we’ve managed recently and taking us back into scoring mode!! COYW
A really good opportunity to get 3 points on the board. Huddersfield struggle for goals and wolves will want another clean sheet run. If we can score in the first 20 minutes then that should open the game up. It might not be pretty at times but I think we’ll get the job done.
Posted this earlier and again it feckin disappeared.
Nice to see Connor Coady getting a cracking goal,
Didn’t please the fans behind the goal, but hey there were only a few anyway.
Remember when we used to get shitty crowds like that.

Looking after the grandsons this weekend – but must get the prediction in before they arrive!
Certainly hope – and expect – a victory but still don’t expect a high score.
I’ll go with 2 – 0 to the lads.
Could be a frustrating afternoon but i’ll back us to get the job done
Wolves to win and break the bogey team tag.
WHAT RHYMES WITH WOLF?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING…
THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HUDDERSFIELD WILL GET ON SUNDAY.
Gulf rhymes with wolf……and thats what you have in class between Wolves and Huddersfield …..or is that too arrogant for the little terriers sensitivity?
LOWVES, Gulf does NOT rhyme with WOLF…do you feel as embarrassed about your comment about the predicted outcome as I do about mine?
Where I come from Mildenhall (the black country) Gulf rhymes with Wolf. And no ,I never feel embarrassed about predicting a positive outcome for my team, you may do but I never ever will, disappointed in the team and outcome? of course, but we are in a poor run, as we knew before the season started we would have at some time. The 12th man did not play too well today either, unusually quiet and booing at at half and full time. We need to forget this game and get behind our team at Cardiff as I will and I am optimistic we can turn it around and, once again, I will not be embarrassed for predicting a win even if it goes pear shaped.
A few bad games doesn’t take our teams class away.
Lowves, didn’t mean embarrassed about predicting the score, I meant our derogatory remarks about Huddersfield. Sorry for any confusion. COYW.
No need for an apology Mildenhall, I’m sorry for getting so arsey, not in the best of humour this evening!
Well boys and girls, today was a game changer, results went for us and so a really good scoring win tomorrow and we are up a place. A win then next Friday at Cardiff and we could be up to 6th in the English Premier league.
Dreaming, yes, getting ahead of myself, jumping the gun, arrogance, but it’s a lovely thought all the same.
COMBambinos.
We have had a couple of top teams recently so we need to make these next two comfortable wins. 3-0 Wolves
Other than Jonny Otto of course, I hope that the rest of our returning squad members are now fully recovered from their international excursions. Furthermore, I hope that we won’t be subjected to any unexpected upset at the hands of Huddersfield like we suffered against Watford after the last International break.
We need a win to reaffirm our early season promise – think I’ll plump for a 2-0 victory – no slip-ups please boys.
I see our opposition are bottom of the table as at right now so I can’t see anything else but a very comfortable three points. Don’t care who scores frankly and I can’t get there so hope its a great watch on sky tv.
We should win this one ..
Another bogey team is in town Udders field. Yes Nuno hasn’t banished all of our Demons, Brighton recently shown there are still a couple to be banished to the history books.
But with The Doc set to keep his place I’m a bit more confident. In some ways playing Udders field is a harder game than playing any of the top six we are expected to win for a start but be in no doudt they will have no fear coming to Molineux in fact I would say the oppersite as there form recently has improved.
I’m going for narrow Wolves win but would not be surprised if we draw.
I get the feeling that some of the Huddersfield fans are narked- they feel that having escaped the Championship before us that they are somehow entitled to be ahead of us now in terms of team development in the promised land of the PL. Fact is they have not spent their Sky dividend wisely- almost none of their many signings has made an inpact and they are in the middle of a relegation battle. Contrast that with our humble and principled manager who is getting the best out of all our players, old and new. The media hype is also upsetting the Uddersfield fans resulting in envy of our current position. That said, they will set up to swamp the midfield, bully us all over the pitch and try a snatch a goal. We will have to be at our best, exploit the flanks and young Ruben could be a key player. Let’s not overburden him with our expectations though! Hard fought one nil and up to 20 points by next weekend?
Time for us to get back to winning ways, these are the team’s we MUST beat to maintain our push to remain in mid table position at least until January when I like most of wolves supporters wouldvlikke a belated Christmas present in the form of a Quality striker to compleate our team.
Its a shame we have to change the team around because of Johnnie injury, but we have a equally capable youngster in Vinagre who in my opinion will be a world class player as soon as he gets his chance in our side.
Glad to see The Doc fit to play tomorrow who is playingboutbofbhis skin.
Come on Wolves show your mettle and do us proud.
UTW FOWB.
Expect Vinagre to start and Doherty to be fit to play.
Would like to see Cavaleiro start too. This will not be an easy game, but it is one we must win.
Good to have the footie back.
Commiserations to Jonny Otto on his injury but this is an opportunity for Ruben Vinagre (unless Nuno surprises us all) to showcase his talent.
Time for Wolves to get back to winning ways.
Play anything like we did against Arsenal and should be a fairly comfortable win.
Time to stamp our quality seal all over Huddersfield. We should be alright in this one, they are not a dirty team by the look of the fair play league and they struggle with everything else by the looks of the actual league table.
They have been on a little jolly in the sun to ‘team build’ during the break. That’s something we we have well covered. I personally think thier premier League honeymoon is over.
So welcome to Molineux Wagner, your too late, we have already reserved the sunbeds.
I will predict 2-1 so I don’t come off as too much of a deluded Wolves fan.
I know he’s earned it but I just don’t like to see Cavaleiro on the left side of the pitch.
Right, that’s the International break out of the way. Now it’s time to finally show how ruthless we can be. We have all been waiting for it ‘to click’ and this afternoon l think it might just happen. Yes, Huddersfield have picked up 5 points from the last 3 games, but they are rooted in 20th place. We have some great, exciting players who have just not got it right in the final 3rd. By 6pm, l feel they will have.
Really looking forward to seeing Ruben Vinagre take his chance in the next few games
Absolutely terrific player , don’t get me wrong.. l know Jonny is good but I have every confidence
Up at 4.00 this morning.
Wolves top ready to put on.
Two coffees already drunk.
Lewis Hamilton the warm up act before the main performance.
I cor wait!!
COME ON ME BABBIES!!!
Hoping international goals will have done Jotas confidence some good.
Won’t be an easy match but hoping for a win.
COYW
Can’t see anything but a win so call me arrogant as well. Who cares what the other side’s fans think.

Back to winning ways
just on time, i hope
A game we all fancy to get a win from, but we thought that when we played Brighton and Watford. So third time lucky?
Almost half time and we are playing like a shite championship football team everyone giving the ball away midfield gone missing Doherty not tracking back for their goal and cav has put his boots on the wrong feet…….. utter crap !
Sort them out Nuno !
Absolute and utter shit. If we continue like this Cardiff will murder us on Friday. For gods sake Nuno sort it out
What a complete bloody shambles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least you were warm. My journey home was reminiscent of the last time we were in the Prem.
Don’t want to comment on the game ……. you saw it.
Not going to Cardiff as I will be in Scotland and am not going to come down to Molineux anymore ……… until the 5th.
We seem to have no cohesion in front of their net. No idea who or where to pass or whether to shoot.
Goes to show can’t keep playing the same system week in week out, fair play to Huddersfield they completely done us not just in midfield but all over the park.
Not sure if this is just one of those games or something else, but we deserved nothing and that’s what we got.
We looked like a Championship team giving the ball away and unable to keep it.
We need another game fast, thank God no more f ING pointless international breaks.
Sort it out Nuno, and get a plan B.
Pathetic! Utterly pathetic!! Can’t believe that was actually my team!
That was bad.
We looked terrible.
Hopefully the “champions league in 3” gobshites will shut up a bit now, and we can focus our attention on maybe staying up.
Huddersfield destroyed us in the middle of the park and didn’t let us play until the 2nd half. Their goals showed a weakness for defending and having balls from our lot.
Very upsetting. But we were bad. Better team (by miles) won.
What an absolutely inept performance that was by our entire team, devoid of any pride, players should hang their heads in shame and donate any wages to charity.
Good God that was embarrassing!
I am at a complete loss to even try to comprehend what the hell has gone on over the last fortnight.
Numbed to the bone by what I have just witnessed.
Beaten …at home… by the bottom of the league team NO not beaten TAKEN APART !
I’M GOING TO BED TO TRY AND GET MY BRAIN RIGHT
Hey, shit happens.
Nuno has to figure out a strategy for when this happens.
Figure out something that would negate the need to control the midfield.
Can it be avoided completely through fast breaks?
No argument.Huddersfield absolutely deserved the win. I fear Cardiff will do exactly the same Friday night. Can Nuno find a way to answer it ?
Bloody shambles to day,I for one thought we were gonna get the three points today no danger.
How wrong was I and sad to say Nuno’s got no plan B I’m afraid, not having a go at him but 1 point from 15 not good enough.
3 points boa MUST Friday night, and Warnock will be licking his lips.
Come on Nuno sort it out.
I can only find one person in this prediction league who picked Huddersfield to win and they were on 10pts(now 11) so it’s as you were…
Tell me what you guys think.
I noticed more than once their players shoving and pushing our players or rough tackles to get the play blown dead. Not always enough to get a card but enough to annoy and disrupt our play. I think this probably frustrates some of the players and then they lose their optimism and drive.
This is something lower talent teams will do, like Cardiff, but not so much top half clubs.
Looked like Moxey was there so maybe that is the reason we played so bad.
Well we didn’t beat these lot, Dodge. Did you pack up and go home or stay to the bitter end like me and not that many others.
