There are five favourable fixtures between now and the end of December with three of those at Molineux.
If we’re to do anything other than toil at the foot of the table, a minimum 10 point return should be the requirement.
Fulham, Britstol City and QPR are all winnable home matches and even the trips to Cardiff and Forest offer opportunity. But it’s the home form that must be addressed.
I can’t remember Wolves ever losing four consecutive home games before, at least not in the second tier and with only Rotherham doing worse on their own ground, Paul Lambert has to find a solution.
For me that solution means playing with real width and getting the full-backs pushed on. We haven’t done either of these things enough at Molineux and it’s something the crowd are crying out for.
Fulham
Nobody will ever convince me Kevin McDonald was sold for footballing reasons. It defies logic. He was our best player and by all accounts has been one of their best players since joining in the summer.
Along with Macca, they also acquired another player (albeit temporarily) I’d hoped to see playing for Wolves in Chris Martin. Those two have offset the losses of Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele and given the Cottagers a couple of battle hardened Championship performers.
They’re certainly a more solid unit than last season, boasting one of the better defensive records in the league along with a healthy goals scored column. They come into this game just three points outside the play-offs.
Slavisa Jokanovic got Watford promoted and there are signs he’s starting to get things going again at Craven Cottage. The 5-0 demolition job they did on high flying Reading last weekend should be a warning sign to anyone expecting an easy ride on Saturday.
More of their points and victories have come on their travels too, so this certainly isn’t the home banker it might have been in previous years.
Wolves
It was interesting to hear Paul Lambert’s post match analysis following the win over QPR when he explained the reasons behind some of the changes he made to the team.

He suggested Saiss only started because of an injury to Jack Price and Cavaleiro because he thought QPR would lineup with three at the back and wanted to stretch their center halves.
As such, it will be interesting to see if those players retain their places for this one or whether Lambert goes with a different group. Richard Stearman is definitely out, ineligible against his parent club and Carl Ikeme is 50/50 at best.
Assuming Ikeme is out, I’d hope to see the above lineup with only enforced changes from the team that started at Loftus Road. The other alternative would be a more straightforward 442, introducing Bodvarsson up front, but I’m not sure what midfield combination would work in that instance.
Paul Gladon helped himself to a hat-trick for the U23s last week so must be considered worthy of at least a place among the substitutes, particularly given that Dicko is yet to score and Bodvarsson hasn’t netted since August.
Paul Lambert
Predictions
I’ve been making guest contributions to various podcasts and Fulham fan sites this week and backing us to squeak the narrowest of victories, so I’d better stick to that prediction.
Fulham at home has been a nice fixture for us for as long as I can remember, even in the Premier League years. They don’t seem to have such a soft center this season, which could be a problem and I expect them to cause us problems.
But I’ll be brave and stick to my guns – 2-1.
Up The Wolves!

I agree with that team Thomas ..it’s pretty much the one that started against QPR except for injuries and ineligibility..
Fulham might be up there but for the fact that you identify…. They rarely do well at the Mol…. means that they see us a their bogey team …and on Sat that will be unchanged….
I’m expecting goals too…most of them into the Fulham net….and as you liked individual predictions too…Dicko with Two and Dangerous Dave with the other….couldn’t give a monkeys who might score for them ..so long as it’s not McDonald…
Also going with a Wolves win – more in hope than realism.
I’m afraid I still see us in a pretty dire predicament, the QPR game against 10 men not withstanding. For me the Jan transfer window cannot come quickly enough.
I’d go with the same team above, but if Jack Price is fit he’s in ahead of Coady.
I must admit it would be very interesting to see Saiss and Price in the same team. I would imagine in a best case scenario they’d pass teams off the pitch and in a worst case scenario they’d be out-muscled and overrun. But would be nice to test.
Saiss has also featured as a central defender earlier on in his career. And my impression is that he’s done well in the defensive part of the game, so it’s definetly an exciting alternative.
The last time Fulham won at Molineux (stupid penalty shoot-outs excepted) was April 1985. Getting on for 32 years ago!
To put that into perspective when they last won at Molineux my first child was a mere 9 month old baby. Now she is a 32 year old married woman with 2 children including her own 9 month old daughter.
In the 12 visits to Molineux since then we have won 9 and there have been 3 draws.
So history suggests that we might just win this one!
Games against Fulham always remind me of trips down there to be honest.
My first visit for the 1967/8 opening game of the season when Ronnie Allen’s men won 2-1 with a Dougan header and a Bailey volley.
The 1976/7 promotion season when they had Bobby Moore, George Best and Rodney Marsh and managed by Sammy Chung we drew 0-0 in the September sunshine.
The 1982/3 promotion season when Graham Hawkins men won 3-1 on a cold New Year’s Day and John Burridge in goal seemed to spend as much time chatting to the Wolves fans behind the goal as he did to stopping any Fulham efforts on goal.
A midweek league cup 5-1 victory in the 1990’s (can’t remember the year but I remember hearing whilst en-route to the game that OJ Simpson had got off). To cap a day of major shocks Tony Daley not only played but scored!
A Terry Connor inspired 0-5 hammering in the cold, wind and rain in 2012 as we plummeted down. That was one of the worst feelings ever after that game and all the way home.
A couple of years ago early season and midweek when a few Bedford Wolves including my Dubai based son Daryl spent the day in London and arrived by Thames River Taxi and certain people (no names, no pack drill) were so inebriated they couldn’t walk in a straight line through the park leading to the ground. Sako scored and we won 1-0 despite missing a late penalty to settle our nerves. Their funny little German manager who looked like that one out of Dangermouse got sacked the next day.
Any road up I am going for a 2-1 win.
If I was bit ‘cheeky’ (who me?) then I would say Dave Edwards to get both our goals – the first after instantly controlling a long cross-field pass and then unleashing a 30 yard thunderbolt into the top corner and the other being a brilliant individual goal worthy of Pele and Johan Cruyff put together where after a mazy run leaving 7 defenders in his wake he rounds the keeper and back-heels the ball into the empty net.

BOG
Here is another of my memories of days gone by, one regarding Fulham.
In the late sixties I lived on Walton Breck Road in Liverpool, 100 yards down the hill from the Kop, other side of the road. My mate Fuzz and I would often go to their games or across the park to see Everton to get our football fix. We never missed a Wolves fixture but we’d watch anything.
So, one Saturday we went to see Liverpool-Fulham. We were in the Kop behind the Tommy Lawrence goal mouth. The ground was very different then, of course, lots of old wood and scaffold poles with a tatty wooden sign saying “Welcome to the Spion Kop” or something. I found out then that was a Boer War reference.
Early on Allan Clarke. out on the right-hand touchline, unmarked, got a great pass and stormed into the Liverpool area and Fulham were 1-0 up. Fuzz screams out “Great goal!”. I’m sure the Kop went silent. We must have had 10,000 staring eyes on us. We were told without any uncertainty “That was a mile off-side” but, no, Fuzz had to argue “Great goal, that was!”. I don’t remember much more about the game apart from the menace I felt behind me.
Liverpool ran out easy 4-1 winners and we got out without being scalped, a few taps on the shoulder with words like “If that’d been any other result …”.
I had had the very dubious pleasure of being an assumed Fulham supporter for one game.
That Fuzz had balls.
I, for one, will be giving a welcome-back cheer to KMcD when his name is announced, like we used to do for Robbie Keane.
It’s another one of those ‘how long can the bad run continue?’ games. Wolves poor home record, Fulham’s poor Molineux record, Jon Dadi’s and Dicko’s failure to score. I reckon we’ll need that overdue penalty and a fair wind.
Wolves 1 Fulham 1, for me.
Thanks but I am not BOG! He is much much older than me – in fact I think he remembers the Boer War.
Ten men or not, the victory against QPR will surely have given the boys something of a boost and I feel that will carry over into this one.
I can’t argue too much with Thomas’s proposed line-up, although, with the size of our squad, it’s a little worrying that there is so much agreement on our current best eleven. When fit, I would like to see both Mason and Oniangue given another run out.
And then of course, soon, real soon, there will be Jordan. sigh……..
I think it’ll be tough for Graham to make much of an impact this season. Doesn’t look like he’ll be back in full training until into the new year. He then needs his own pre-season, reserve matches and as we’ve seen with Dicko, minutes within the first team to get even close to match sharpness. I’m pinning my hopes on him for next season when Costa inevitably goes elsewhere in the summer, but you never know, maybe he’ll surprise me.
Yes Thomas, that’s true. He’s a ready made replacement for Costa and, on form, every bit as good.
Hope he keeps Can in and gives him a run of games, K Mac will be a threat as he can spray the ball around so perhaps cody could do a tight marking job. 2-1 or 2-2 ? lets be positive
Cav not Can – Ooops
If he (PL) indeed plays a decent starting 11, then I’m up for more of the same, please. Can’t wait to see Macca back at the Molineux, I love the guy no matter what shirt he wears. Eager to see what the Fulham manager reckons we are missing (todays papers).
Says, “the difference MacDonald makes is consistency”
Now there’s a lovely word…….
So in hope that we’ve turned the corner I’m fancying a 2-0.

MM2 thats Mark McGhee not Mick McCarthy, to use whatever players, who are not good enough in his opinion, as his excuse for defeat.

Wolves were brilliant against Reading,Brum,Newcastle and Villa.
What has changed other than incompetent managers Doggerdodo ?
M and M too to score 2 thats Martin and McDonald, in a banker away win.

Your previous arguments say that the only man who makes a difference is the manager.
If we were brilliant against R, B, N and V, which manager was in charge at the time and was he incompetent?
And you didn’t plug your favourite betting company this time, have they given you the push?
Yes he was incompetent with his tinkering in taking us South, thats why he was sacked Doggydodo.
And the betting company is the Wolves partner, have,nt you seen your Terms and Conditions honourable club member ?

Fulham must be kicking themselves that they put the “ineligible” clause in Stearman’s loan deal, they’ve missed a certain goal with that.
Talking to Fulham fans, MacDonald is still oozing class and has taken up the Scott Parker role with relish, always finding time on the ball and spraying passes around as well as he did for us. A terrible decision to let him leave.
Having witnessed first-hand the commencement of our long awaited revival at QPR I’m starting to believe that good things are on the way. Still a lot of games to go before the transfer window opens and time to propel ourselves up the table and become a slightly more attractive proposition to potential new players.
Onwards and upwards.
Nah! Is he better than Saiss?
I’d like to see Saiss and Price play together.
I sense they could be a good combination in front of our wobbly defence.
Also I’d like to see Lambert play Enobakhare as centre forward.
Strikers thrive on confidence and right now, this lad has plenty.
Certainly compared with Bod or Dicko.
If we put him on from the start he will score…
Plan a: Saiss and Coady
if the opposition scores
plan b: Saiss and Price
Yes, KMac is going to be a handful if we let him play. But there were also times when he was with us when he was ineffective because he was given no time on the ball. I’m with Basherbaz here – let Coady do a man-marking job on him and kill the danger at source. Otherwise don’t change a winning team (even if it is only one win against 10 men….).
Fulham haven’t won on our patch for a million years, so y’all know what that means…………..
Yeah, we gonna make it a million and one years!!
No danger.
MacDonald will be so up for making an impression he’ll fuck everything up.
This is one time an ex Wolves player does not score against us, and he will be that bad, off he goes at half time or earlier.
Just think of the stupid nicknames other clubs would have if they followed Fulham and nicknamed their team after their grounds.
Name those teams.

Agree with a marking job on Macca and bright to start or come on at some stage. Narrow, squeaky bum win.
Stefan Johanson, which joined from Celtic, is just as dangerous.
Nice to see everybody, bar one, keeping up the positive attitude. Personally I think the only thing going for us tomorrow is our record against Fulham. Best I can hope for is a draw. Sorry simply not impressed with the way we gel as a team.
Such will be the zest of our new found cut throat attacks, the Cottagers might as well build a cottage (fully double glazed and central heating) on the edge of their box in a vain attempt to stop the rampaging Dicko. This wont help at all and their fans will throw pots of cottage cheese in the air in frustration. The cheese will empty out over their heads causing temporary blindness and this will dismay the Fulham team to the extent that KMac will cut off chunks of his hair in order to help wipe the cheese off the fans. The loss of hair will cause an immediate loss of strength in Kmac who instead of finding a killer pass will stumble to the ground in a hapless fashion. Thus Fulham who at the time of the cottage cheese crisis are 2-0 up will crumble like headless chickens. The central heating boiler in the cottage on the edge of the box will explode and the whole fucking thing collapses. Dicko strides through the mayhem for 2 late goals and a point is rescued. Apart from all that RIP Ian Cartwright. Former Wolves midfielder in the dark days of the mid 80’s but aged 52 is no age really. Cancer finally got him. Condolences to his family.
Going for a draw with some goals. 2-2.
Agreed Devon – did a longish response, but some Javascript error and no time to rewrite my comments.
Defence have yet more disruption with Stears out, but hopefully improved attacking display at The Loft will continue.
COMBs!!
With Macca pulling the strings I expect us to be up against it.
I would love to know the real truth behind why he was sold but we probably never will.
Football reasons. Was it because he could actually play football?
All history now.
My head says a draw is the best we can hope for.
But I am starting to get like the Wigged one from the West in my old age so I’m forecasting a win again.
I would maybe give the boy Bright a run out though. He looked really good in the week.
COYW!
I remember well beating Fulham 2 0 in the first home game of the 2011/12 season. In the first half we played the best for years and with new signings Johnson and O’ hara starring I really thought we were on the up. How wrong I was. No wonder I am usually at the bottom of the prediction league.
We can’t go on losing at home (can we) so I’ll go for a boring score draw.
Being as I’m on a roll (of one game) I reckon I’ll stick with 2-1 although speaking to my old mate, Dave Kessler, well he ain’t so sure, but sod him…Wolves to win, with the regulation MacDonald (ex player ) goal of course.
UTW!!
We still haven’t scored against 11 men in ages, so I still have problems seeing where the goals will come from. And we couldn’t manage a clean sheet against 10 either. Maybe the confidence boost from the QPR win will at least help the defence tighten up.
When we were 2 up against 10 men last week with half an hour still to play my 3-0 looked quite feasible, didn’t it……….. let’s try again this week.
Old macdawdle will be craven for a goal back at the old gold ground. I can just here the stadium announcer reading out his name in the muffled apologetic tone reserved for such occasions. A class act at times but didn’t seem too motivated for some reason in the end.
A new Wolves is taking shape so lets hope we can surprise them with a bit of class ourselves.
On the Kevin McDonald front the story I heard was that sadly he was a gambling addict and had run up debts in excess of £1m. Fulham supposedly offered him a way out and a lifeline with the deal including them wiping off his debts. Dunno if true or not and probably never will know but it would explain the fact he was sold AND the timing of it coming days after WZ took charge.
You’d a thunk our main sponsors would have taken care of his debt, if true,……………or was it to them he owed money?
Still think it was simply a case of mutt & greasel’s pocket lining shenanigans.
Anyrode, don’t matter not no more, he be gone.
Lovely to see the sandwell bitch a.k.a. amander getting her twickers in a nist!!

Bedford, I think you are correct on this matter.
First of a run of clean sheets and much better times COYW.
The win against QPR was welcome, but I’m not getting carried away. Is the time right to unleash Gladon?!
Here we go again…
God Help Us
I believe I have discovered the Wolves strategy! They look at our prediction league, look up vicsmith prediction, then make sure they F**k up my prediction! Well I am going to make it tough for them and sit on the fence of draws! Every time I think we turned the corner, we crash into a wall. So for the rest of the season, any “could be winnable games” are going down as a draw in my book. Then they have to win to prove me wrong! (which is what we ALL want).
K Mac back to haunt us..?..I hope not.. if he has a good game then it’s because we let him ..its the long shots I worry about he often could miss a mile for us but what’s the odds he’s spot on,on Saterday?…
Anyway,it’s all about Costa for me he’s brilliant, and of course the Alamo at the back..and…..the famous first 25mins..
PL s on a roll I hope…we need to tackle these 5 games as if our lives depend on it..
Our season could be measured by the points we need in the run up to January..
If we get 10 -12 points I agree we need to-then we could buy into the play offs..
Will we spend?
Mr positive or Mr delusional ..?
Dicko to score Costa and Bod last 10 mins..
COYW
no idea….forecast model completely buggered as I sink down the table…wait a bit…is there a coincidence here?
can’t bring myself to let algorithms predict a loss and even with Mac against us my gut tells me we will park the bus and get a scruffy breakaway goal..please God…or whoever the Chinese look up to…?
please also Mr PL… just put decent footballers on pitch from start, not with 5 minutes left
Sorry, but I don’t share everyone’s optimism. Gonna be a very tough afternoon.
Would like to see Price in team instead of Coady otherwise quite happy with the one shown.
Maybe that PL has finally started to get his idea’s across and last week was the start of a decent run. (Or am I as usual deluding myself). Only time will tell.
Hope for a clean sheet and 3 points.
Deadly Dave & Dicko on the score sheet.
Hey Tipton, have only just recovered from the Edwards debate so don’t get me started on Price! Lol
Not intended to start a war.
Maybe we should meet up and have a fundamental discussion on the merits or otherwise of both players at one game.
Totally off topic but when I heard the following I couldnt stop loffin.
Mrs CFH works in “Corporate America” which is so PC its ridiculous.
In a meeting yesterday one of her co workers suggested a five minute “biobreak”
I suppose the old terms having a pee or a poo have gone down the toilet
Biobreak. Another U.S. example of how to fuck up a perfectly good language.
Is that where my Baby Bio plant food comes from then? Corporate America?
Just be careful when walking on the sidewalk you don’t fall flat on your ass (or is it Fanny?)
Obviously simply trying to maintain a level of decorum Clive. Mmmm, decorum. That’ll be a foreign language to you then. 🙂
Decorum.
I have a deck, and I like rum.
Difficult choice.
Perhaps I need amanda crap to translate, coz like her, I don’t understand words of one silly bull or more!!
I still have to mentally translate English into American when talking to the natives, even after nearly 30 years.
Need my Black Country fix!!
So now we have a great new game to play! Paul Lambert says he wants a squad of around 23 players inclusive of new signings in January. I personally think we need at least three new players – centre half, left back and striker – meaning that only about 20 of the current crop would survive. At the moment we have at least 32 by my reckoning so around 12 would need to depart. But who?
Here are the 32 I can think of:
Ikeme
Lonergan
Flatt
Iorfa
Silvio
Batth
Hause
Williamson
Doherty
Stearman
Deslandes
Ebanks-Landell
Borthwick-Jackson
Saiss
Price
Coady
Evans
Edwards
Saville
Oniangue
Ronan
Costa
Cavaleiro
Wallace
John
Teixeira
Graham
Dicko
Bodvarsson
Gladon
Enobakhare
Mason
Ready, steady, go!
Crikey after the debate over just one player in the last blog can you imagine the can of worms you’d open if we had to talk about getting rid of ten players! We’d end up crashing the internet.
I see you’ve made a start on trimming the squad by leaving out Henry and Zyro. Is that just wishful thinking on your part!!!
To me it’s the players which haven’t managed to make an impact yet: Wallace, Ronan (I don’t know how big his potential is), perhaps Saville, Bothwick Jackson, Teixera, John, Evans, Stearman (he will probably return if we sign a central defender). These players aren’t bad, not at all, but if it was my choice, I think I would choose these players. 8 players in total.
Gladon is a big question mark, but I would keep him for now. Perhaps he starts to shine under Lambert’s regime. Iorfa has been linked to Westham.
The Newt – Henry was an oversight (I do my best to try and forget him) but Zyro was a deliberate omission as I don’t reckon we will see him before April at the earliest. If we add Henry to make 33 then for me :
17 I would definitely keep
5 I might keep for now as back up
3 I would keep but send out on loan
8 I would sell or send back to their parent clubs
Fun ain’t it?
Going for an exciting home win. It will give us a nice confidence boost especially after our away win last week that fortuatesly added a couple of points to my derisory total in the prediction league table.
Sadly we have one of the worst home records in the league while Fulham have one of the best away records plus a couple of ex-players so it could be a tough afternoon.
Hoping for a win but predicting a draw.
I was talking in length to McDonald at the End of Season dinner in Telford. I asked him if there was any truth in the rumours he was leaving to Rangers which was the in talk in the press at the time.
He told me no way was he going to Glasgow and that he had just moved house in Showell Lane.
He said that he hadn’t got a clue what was going on at Wolves, and that he hadn’t got a clue why he wasn’t in the Wolves side. He went on to say that if he was to leave it would be a club down south and not up north were he would end up. We then witnessed the ten goals of the season in which three of the best came from the feet of McDonald which brought the house down. I hope the crowd give him a good reception tomorrow because he didn’t deserve the treatment he got from Jackett and co.
It was a terrible decision to sell Macca. I don’t know whose decision it was but at best Kenny Jackett was culpable as a bystander. At worst, Kenny criminally underrated Macca’s value. Good riddance to anyone responsible.
I hope we can play to Macca’s weaknesses tomorrow otherwise I fear he will be spraying killer passes all over the pitch We probably know more about him than Fulham does, so that gives me some grounds for optimism.
Assuming that Lambert can bring consistency and assuming that our best early-season performances weren’t flukes, I’m going for the win.
3-0 if PL plays the same team as Thomas has suggested.
Wolves should try for a short term loan for Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco for a short term loan.
I figure one or two months would get them up the table and he seems to not be too fussed with playing at a lower level than the Premier League or Serie A.
Jeff, throw some money at a sure thing.
If big Mac was so good it begs the question how come Wolves, then only Fulham bought the player. Yes he can classily spray the ball around, but only if he isn`t being pressed or man marked by the opposition.
He lacks a bit of pace and mobility for me, so Coady or Price should man mark him aggressively, and take him and his influence out of the game if possible. If he was that good he would be playing in the premiership, its not the first time wwfc sold their best player, instead of building a team around him.
As for tomorrow, we`ve got to win, I mean four home defeats on the trot is not good enough, so I`m going for a 3-1 win, our forwards are due a couple of goals I feel.
I expect dangerous Dave to score a 3 minute hat trick now he got a 3 year all inclusive ( doesn’t matter what League we are in) contract tightly in his mitt.
He can relax now a show us what a genius of a player he really is. As for the game as long as Lambert doesn’t tell the players we are at home a playing against 10 men I think we have a chance.
On yeah and McDonald to score and play a blinder, thanks Kenny and interesting to note how Fulhams defence has improved since a certain player was shipped out on loan.
I have no idea what I’m doing, and before anyone asks no I’m not a wolves centre half. I think it’s another tough fixture and I think we have a way to build up confidence and turn the corner.
I’m going with Thomas on this one – a sneaky home win.
I’ll go with your team Thomas. It’s a tight affair for me, hopefully with Wolves coming out on top. KMac will be up for this and I quite expect him to do the returning player thing and score for them.
After an absence of a couple of months I’m doing my own returning punter thing and hope to be in the North Bank Bar around 2pm. It would be good to meet up with anyone who is around.
Actually feeling confident about this one !!!
I’m going for back to back wins optimistic I know be keep the faith and hope to push on to better second half of the season COYW
I think we re going to have to grind this one out again … narrow wolves win
Time to go on a winning run 🙂
Let’s hope Christmas come early and we get another win
I see Williamson is getting fit …is this the beginning of the beginning?
Really fantastic news….PL seems to say so too as he knows him…
No, it’s the end of the beginning.
So, MacDonald returning to show us what we are missing.
Millwall want Wallace again.
Coady off to Newcastle in January.
Steve’s Mike Williamson to return soon.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas……
We are heading towards 2017 but for various reasons it’s almost as if our season hasn’t kicked off yet. We are stuttering along and don’t know what our best team is. Our confidence may well have been boosted by the victory against QPR, but as was shown in the closing minutes, that confidence is fragile. Should Fulham score, score first and/or score early, how will we deal with the pressure?
I’m not convinced that we are yet capable of putting on a performance that will see us overcome the likes of Fulham. PL needs more time to sort things out.
Still not convinced so I’ll go for a draw.
We only seem to have two players that can score and we can’t rely on them to score every week.
I’ll travel in hope more than expectation.
Tablet froze and kicked me out.
Lost count of the times we gonna turn Molineux in to a fortress. Perhaps Clive can get Donald Trump to build one. And get the Mexicans to pay for it. Minimum wage though for fuck sake.
I’ve no idea what to predict on this 1 but my other half says score draw so I’ll blame him if it’s wrong!!
I went for a draw last week & they won so I’ll hope for the same again & 3 points.
COYW
Sorry Thomas, it’s not letting me post the prediction – 1-1 if it still doesn’t work this time
I’ve always been optimistic about our chances against Fulham since standing on the South Bank on a Wednesday 16 September 1959 to watch us beat them 9-0 ….. with a memory like that it’s difficult not to let the infinitesimally small chance of history repeating itself far outweigh any logical assessments or the annoying insistencies of recent form. So I’m going with my heart rather than my head for a decent win – I can’t stretch to a clean sheet though.
After nearly b***ering my prediction up for me last time out, I’m sticking with the same score again!!
I don’t know why and for no particular reason I think we will win this one
I think Dicko will score, we will finally get a clean sheet and the opposition won’t score in the first 15 minutes.
We better win – a colleague at work is a Fulham fan and I will never hear the end of it if they win.
UTW
I think Dicko will score, we will finally get a clean sheet, the opposition won’t score in the first 15 minutes and we aren’t on television.

Put your score in the boxes Mosman mate …or is it just for fun….
I tried but it wouldn’t let me – will try again.
Had the same issue – twice so am trying again.
Probably doesn’t matter given the accuracy of my predictions this season.
Fulham … Fulham!
Theym donkeys!
Come on !
The key to the game is likely to be Kevin McDonald find a way to stop his influence or pay the price.
I’m hoping Saiss plays, his diagonal pass to Costa that led to the goal at QPR was exquisite. I would pick Price as well, as others have written that would be a very interesting combination but we’d run the risk of Kmac controlling things, so I expect PL to play Coady instead. We’re still vulnerable in defence so I’d be very surprised if we kept a clean sheet.
This’ll be a tricky one to win but I’m going for 2-1 to the Wolves.
Come on me babbies!
Doesn’t look like it took my prediction last night for some reason so I’ll try again. If this doesn’t take I’m going for 1-1.
I’ve always been optimistic about our chances against Fulham since standing on the South Bank one Wednesday evening in September 1959 watching us beat them 9-0. With a memory like that it’s hard not to let the infinitesimally small chance of history repeating itself outweigh logical assessments or the insistencies of current form. So I’m going with my heart rather than my head for a good win . I can’t run to a clean sheet though nor quite a Clive score.
When I was trying to post my comments last night I hit a snag (just like one or two others). This morning I see that my comments appear without my score prediction which I will attempt again below
Honours even in the Richard Stearman derby.
I see my forecast didn’t get through
Expecting tight game- hoping Wolves just shade it – 1-0
Zodiacal lights or the sun beginning to rise? either way not expecting to be dazzled
No idea but hoping well edge it
Harry Burgoyne in goal Jon Flatt on the bench ………
Lonergan and Ikeme out injured
Against an open playing Fulham I normally expect to win.
With KMac wound up to play I am worried unless Wolves man mark him, this will prevent the free flowing play and result in a tight low scoring game.
Saying that Dicko is starting to play well and could easily snatch an hatrick today.
Basically like the rest of us I have no idea.
For no particular reason, I’m going for a win , hope the defence gets some help today , an average age of 22 so cut them a little slack guys
Late with my prediction so I’ve seen that HB is in goal. Good on him, hope he does well. But I’ve had the shittest of shit weeks and I can’t see things going our way. Or is this a case of transference? Of course it is. Win it is then.
Just took a break and checked the half times. MAKE NO MISTAKE HERE WWFC are in deep deep trouble.
Well that just shows what I know. LOL.
Scoring 4 is great but conceding 4 is relegation form.
I look forward to the match report on here later.
Twenty one days to Jan 1st and it cant come soon enuff
I’m just going for a little lie down. Not good for my dicky ticker you know.
WTF was all that then?
Good luck writing the match report on that game
Current stats show on away form only we would be 7th. On home form only we are 24th.
Playing a 433 system, as favoured by WZ and is adopted by PL, and with no flair or creativity in there, is madness. It leaves us wide open down the middle and our brittle defence exposed. It also leaves our central striker unsupported.
Today Fulham had 26 efforts on goal. At OUR ground! Recipe for disaster right there.
Unless and until we start to play 4231 with two holding players protecting our defence and a flair player behind the striker we will continue to leak goals like this.
Even if we perform and create a miracle with 4 goals you can bet both bollocks that we will concede at the end to give it all away…
To concede 4 at home is not only outrageous
but full on relegation and it shows PL gargantuan task re our defence…
If Williamson could appear it would be as if it’s the messiah returning…..
Two points dropped!
A thriller of a game. We can debate indivdual performances and mistakes all night and probably will but at some point in the future will have to embrace a more possession based game to get anywhere near the top six.
Entertainment …10 out of 10 to both sides …if wolves and fulham carry on playing like that every week they will win a lot of friends as they disappear into the 3rd division.
4 goals shipped at home 4 goals scored… it’s madness…great great madness…don’t do it again please.
we have let daft goals in all season so to score 4 should be applauded and I suppose to get back to 3-3 Mr L simply had to go for it.
what a shame we didn’t quite make the fairy tale come true but none the less an incredible afternoon.
Great banter in the pub tonight…
Coming out the ground I didn’t know wether to laugh or cry………….I’ve never been through the ringer so much in one game and considering I’ve been supporting Wolves for Forty years that’s saying something.
The first half was horrendous I’ve been saying it that long now I’m sick of saying the defence, well what defence how can you defend defending like that………and then just when I thought the footballing gods were smiling on us……….the defence well lets just say at least there consistent……consistently bad.
What an absolutely bostin’ game.
Now that’s worth paying good money to see.
Pheweeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Thought Fulham were a joy to watch. Rarely wasted a ball. Inventive round the box. Quick 1 touch passing. Wish we could do it. Our young goalie saved us on 3 or 4 occasions. That said. Liked the spirit we showed second half. Generally looked more of a goal threat. Lot’s of work to do for PL who also showed a lot of spirit on the touchline. Glass half full shows 4 points from last 2 games. Something to build on. Also we scored half as many goals at home today as we have all season! On to Forest.
Had an absolute pigs arse of a shite week, then my Grandson comes off after 10 minutes and his team get beat 3-0 after getting up at 8am to travel to Derby.
Then Wolves go 1-0 up before the 15th minute and almost make it 2-0 with a Dicko trick shot (feck me was he fast to the ball)
Then we go 3-1 down and look like a second rate team treading water in a muddy lake.
Half time comes and goes with some bird singing like Honey Feckin G (hurt my flaming ears)
Wolves come out after half time, after talking to the Russian olympic team Doctor and they were a different team, passion, flair, one touch footy, working for each other and produce two of the finest goals Iv’e seen down the Molineux in many a year.
Pull it back to 3-3 then bleeding hell we only go and take the lead from 3-1 dead and buried to go 4-3 in extra time.
Wait there’s a twist to the tale, flash, bang whallop 4-4 no brownie, no 3 points, no wonder with defending as bad as my 12 year old Grandson’s team.
But, better footy, better goals (4 of the buggers) a light is shining at the end of the tunnel. Chip, chip, chip away until January and see what we can pull out of the hat to bolster this emerging team.
Well done Wolves fans, what a feckin atmosphere, well done players for giving us something to cheer about, nice to meet up with Dougie (Exile Wolf) in the North Bank bar before ko, see you next time under better circumstances, always good to see you buddy.
With my upside down shitty week, I missed the chance to get tickets for Forest, all sold out, I was taking my Grandson, Feck you Fate.
Well done Wolves, I’d pay double to watch that kind of game instead of the crap Sheff Wed one.
It was good to see you and Jenny too. As you say we will hope to meet next time in decidedly better circumstances.
Got absolutely soaked going over to the Great Western pub but I did get the Champions of the World DVD I went for.
Well we certainly got our money’s worth with this match. I was tempted to take a photo for posterity when the scoreboard said 1-0 to us but the half ended with me fearing the worst after the break.
I couldn’t believe that we turned it around to be level and it has been some time since I felt such unbridled joy as when our 4th goal went in. Then there was the sense of coming back to earth when they levelled. But I went away with a feeling of a draw being about right.
Oh well, back to Wales in the morning.
Anyone help me with a quandary? Trying to decide who is currently the most useless, dreadful, untalented, unskilful, atrocious, God awful, non-footballer plying their trade in the Premier League. Narrowed it down to two. Valon Behrami of Watford or Claudio Jacub of Sandwell Town.
