We’d be fifth now if we’d held on for the last two minutes at Elland Road.
A draw was the least Leeds deserved from the game, but still, when you’re that close to the finish line, you’re disappointed not to see it through.

In isolation, a point is a solid result and 10 from the last 12 is impressive, regardless of how we’ve secured them.
November should offer four more good opportunities to accumulate points and it’s important we do, as December looks a bit tasty.
The two home games in this sequence against Everton and West Ham are tough. We lost both of them last season, but not by much. Hopefully, it’s Wolves that can gain the edge this time.
Everton
Rafa Benitez got off to a flyer, much like Ancelotti did the previous year, but they’ve lost the last two and will want to correct the mini-slide as soon as possible.
Injuries to Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin and most recently Doucoure haven’t helped and there’s no doubt their best side is a strong top-half side.

I thought their summer transfer business was smart, bringing in Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray for next to nothing. It’s given them width and pace, which are two things they were sorely lacking.
With Doucoure out for a few months, they look light in midfield and like Wolves, it’s surprising they haven’t invested in greater depth in such a key area of the pitch.
Without the former Watford man, they were dismantled by Watford last weekend – a defeat made all the more painful by a man who went the other way – Josh King – bagging a hat-trick.
One crumb of comfort was the return of Richarlison, who has scored a lot of goals against Wolves in recent years. I suspect he’ll be in the starting XI on Monday.

The away end
Some comments lifted from the pre-match thread on the Grand Old Team forum.
Wolves are doing OK and won’t be an easy game . Their new Korean lad up top is scoring goals. And reuben neves always scores against us. We probably won’t see many changes in personell wise . Mina at the back would be help. Also maybe a 4.3.3 with richy as the 9 would improve us. We need something here. 2 losses in a row have made things a bit edgy. So come on blue boys . Into these Portuguese loving beauts.
I fully expect a win here. That Watford game was a disgrace. We badly need a win, to put some pride back into the club. I don’t like the manager for sure. But i still want him to turn this situation around.
Need a good response in this game, don’t need the fans and atmosphere to become toxic more than it already is but the players have to show they care and a lot of time they just don’t fight and give their all.
Honestly why we even bothering. Rondon, Tom Davies and any off the pathetic defenders we have with Iwobi lingering around. Least it’s a few hours out the house and time off work. I might have a nap on the way there and back. Might even sleep during the game.
Wolves Likely XI
Bruno Lage may have his own injury problems to contend with for this one and will be happy we’ve had a few extra days to potentially get bodies back on the pitch.

Boly and Marcal didn’t even travel to Leeds and both Ait-Nouri and Moutinho limped off late on. It remains to be seen whether any or all will feature on Monday.
Like others, I thought Dendoncker was poor last weekend and would prefer to see the Portuguese powered midfield restored to give us more going forward.
Traore might be fortunate to retain his place after a limp display and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Trincao restored to the team and the same front three deployed that saw off Newcastle.
Last time out
Michael Keane’s header gave Everton a narrow victory at Molineux last season in a largely forgettable encounter where a draw would probably have been the fairest outcome.

We also lost at Goodison Park right at the end of last season. Despite starting the game well and bossing the first half, we couldn’t score and got done by a Richarlison header.

Predictions
Well done to BG, Cannock Wolf, West Parkian, Woodend wolf, Aussiewolf and Ash K for all correctly predicting the 1-1 scoreline last weekend.
Ash K leads the way at the top of the overall table at the end of Gameweek 9.

Up The Wolves!
Polite request – when commenting in the preview article after the game has finished, can you not place score predictions in the boxes, please? It confuses the system. Many thanks.

Hopefully no Trincao after his poor showing against Newcastle. Too lightweight and his decision making isn’t the best (not alone there). The toffees are an average side with an excellent individual or two. Let’s hope we nullify them.
Not much to add, I can see this going either way as we are generally unlucky against Everton.
Looking for Raul to inspire us to another win.
Not a fan of Benitez but it’s not difficult to see what his agenda will have been this week. Getting stuffed by Watford at home and slaughtered in the media will have given him an excuse to do defensive drills all week which he loves at any time.
Neves and Traore have to start as they are players who can take players out with a pass or a dribble, it’s about time Podence stepped up to make a difference when given an opportunity so we need to be positive and get amongst them, score first and early then keep at it until closing time. We live in hope rather than expectation at the moment.
Same for me BG. We should score more than we do and we should be more secure defensively than we are.
My girlfriend tells me this has 1-1 written all over it. Who am I to disagree as form has left me for now.
Heya Avebury!
Do you actually reside amongst the stones?
If so, we’re sort of near neighbours.
Well, not that near actually (Melksham), but I drive past Avebury every time I visit the aged parent at Aldbourne Nursing Home.
If you’re there I’ll wave next time I go past.
Why is it we scored after 10min for the first time in ages then did nothing for 83 minutes just let Leeds attack. Hopefully if we score early keep it going and try for another 2-1 to the Wolves.
Can Lage please find someone who can take a free kick which actually hits the target as Moutinho and Neves are pretty hopeless ?
Why Neves has lost that ability is strange . Have the ball weights been changed ? His goal against Villa was a fluke so I don’t count that as a proper shot .
This is so right. OMG the obsession with short corners. This is a very obvious part of game play that needs a major rethink
Impossible to predict this one due to possible injuries and selection options on both sides so I’m going for an uninformed optimistic punt which is probably as likely as any other prediction I might make.
Not exactly been plain sailing so far. Too many sloppy goals and wasted chances. I think we will scrap out a draw again.
Think Benetiz will set up not to lose.
The reason they got stuffed by Watford hasn’t changed for this week.
No DCL and No Doucore – This is a light weight Everton with no real class. To expect anything other then a Win against a side who got Drummed by Watford cant be accepted. Demari Gray and Townsend are both flops who have performed well against poor teams. Alex Iwobi and Tom Davies are championship at best. Michael Kean is the worst CB in the prem – and Mina ain’t much better. If we don’t come out and take hold of this game, Then we really are as bad as i think.
I wont have this ” we should be tentative” attitude around this match. This is a poor poor Everton side, who are on the down slope – whilst we have lost 1 in the last 6 prem games.
I am tired of seeing all the positivity towards Bruno after a result and the hordes of “it don’t matter how he gets it done” because its a load of rubbish if you don’t go into the game expecting to win against these types of sides.
To problem is, deep down, we all know – we are awful and lucking our way through these results. It will be a real issue when we come against a side that actually plays football. This Everton side – don’t…
I will be in a local pub, in the middle of Liverpool, Surrounded by Everton fans for this game – I want to have a reason to be singing – this can’t be won with luck.
About time we turned recent result history against The Toffees.
Should have said ….turned around…. Oops
Offensive set pieces for have not good enough this season so it will be 2 set pieces that win it for us on Monday.
Saiss and a Keane ( worst defender in the Prem) OG will secure us a win.
Will be an interesting Monday night
.
Let’s rock the Mol, so that poor Evertonian doesn’t get the opportunity the get the sleep he so desperately desires.
One for us to win, we’ve not been at home for a while, let’s make it happen. Agree with Wof stranded in scally land, EFC no great shakes at the moment
The research history buffs will be out in force at full time on Monday, trying to find the last time Everton let in five goals in successive matches.
As the whole football world will be watching, since it’s the only game , we will turn on the afterburners and stuff ’em up the chuff, big time!!
Another three points in the bag, easy peasy.
This is a game I have been worried about as it will be (in my mind anyway!) the test of whether we are a top or bottom half team. Will take a draw, but expect the worst…
Benitez living off past glories for me. Another late collapse from them and our new deadly duo Jimi and Hwang gonna show them the way out. Ait Nouri a must too if he’s fit and it’d be nice to see Podence get a start. Rafa’s head on the block as we run out 3 -1 victors. UTW
Changed my mind from 1-1 draw to a Wolves 2-1 win against Leeds last week so have changed my mind from a Wolves 2-1 win to a 1-1 draw this week.(Logical?) COYW.
Gutted that my double bet with BetVictor was thwarted by that injury time penalty at Leeds. Licking my wounds after missing out on a three figure payout. I was mentally spending the money at 94 minutes. Thomas’s team looks the more likely against Everton, barring injuries, but the midfield looks light. We badly need quality reinforcements in January. That said, I think we should be comfortable in midtable in the meantime. Any higher than that will all be down to Bruno. For Everton, surely we will learn that protecting a one-goal lead is inviting heavy pressure in the final minutes?
I’m wavering between 2-0 and 3-1 but I fear that Richarlison will score, so 3-1 it is.
I’ll go for a win.
I don’t think there’s fat lot to choose between the sides but it seems like they’ll have more of their important players missing and home advantage should also count for something, particularly under the Molineux lights.
If we do win, it’ll be 16 points from the first 10 matches, which is a very decent start. We had 17 from 10 last season (our best since returning to the Prem), which just goes to show that a. how well we were doing prior to Raul getting taken out last season and b. how things can unravel.
I’ll go for 3 home points with a couple of goals to the good.
Excellent post Thomas.
With 13 points from our first 10 games it’s worth looking at the next 10.
Everton, Crystal Palace, Hammers, Norwich, Burnley, Liverpool, Man City, Brighton, Chelsea and Watford. A similar return is a realistic expectation but it would be far more satisfying if the performances were more in line with the first few games of the season as well.
Everton are there to be beaten; we should approach the match with belief and bags of confidence. Neves, assuming he is fit, has to start. And Hwang. And Traore. Perhaps the human rocket needs a rocket after a less than glowing performance at Leeds but he can cause huge problems for the opposition and draw markers away, creating space, and fouls in advance positions. He may not be scoring or creating assists but he can still influence the game.
It’d be great to see Boly back. Sa is proving a smart acquisition and a clean sheet would be very welcome.
Hopefully Bruno has learnt a good deal from his first dozen or so competitive games and will pick our strongest, most balanced and attacking team, making good and timely substitutions when required.
So I’m going for a solid home win and another 3 points in the bag !
UTW
We will definitely concede – so will we have to score 2 ?
Didn’t predict 1-1 last week and ………
I’ll go 1-1
Richarlison is always a danger, so he must be nullified. Traore to sparkle and I think Podence will do some magic too.
Still believe that Boly is better than Saiss, but Saiss has been playing reasonably well over the past few weeks! Close game could go either way!
Not able to go to the game as I am away for a friend’s birthday. Could have gone if it was still on Saturday so very annoyed that the fixture was moved. Most of her family are not into football apart from her husband and dad who support the baggies so may end up watching it in a room on my own. Hopefully the result will cheer me up. Worried about Richarlison and live in hope that Traore will play like he did the first three games of the season when he was unplayable. Maybe dropping him and playing Podence and Trincao will act as incentive.
As usual I live in hope of a win. Please don’t try and defend if we go in front.
Toffees will be looking to bounce back from last weeks thumping and we would possibly be the team of choice to do that against. Looking at past results I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet so hoping we can sneak it.
Wolves 2 – 1 Toffees
Everton’s fans share the same ambition as us: to be a permanent top six club pushing for top four. Their owner has gone for it throwing hundreds of millions at player purchases but without getting a real return. Please note some of us: throwing money at building a squad does not always bring the success fans crave. A succession of high profile coaches have come and gone and still sustained improvement has not been achieved.
The paucity of depth to their squad has been made plain by recent results following injuries to key players nor do they seem to have the togetherness required to get consistent results.
But as we know Richarlison on his day can provide goals and give them the spark they need to come back from last week’s drubbing.
Wolves will have to be at their best to maintain recent good results. Hopefully home support will give the lift that takes our talented but sometimes miss firing team to three more points.
Need to get points in the bag in November
Richarlison always scores against us so I don’t see us keeping a clean sheet.
Whang and Raul are developing a great partnership and I fancy them to bag one each to win the game.
It’s gotta be a win…
Two teams still looking for their best form, though we seem to have conjured up some results despite not really playing so well.
Last weeks debacle against Watford could make them doubly determined to put things right. Or it could make their confidence wafer thin and a fast start from us could break it. Time alone will tell.
At the moment, I can’t see much wrong with Cannocks comments above, in that Richarlison is always a thorn in our side and Raul and Hee Chan are seemingly forming a formidable partnership. All three to score.
We could dismantle them like Watford with a blitzkrieg of goals or score first and grab a draw from the Jaws of victory…

Excellently article written by Jonny Phillips. Think we can all relate to it. 🙂
Sums it all up perfectly Marnhull. But it’s the bad times that make the good times taste all the sweeter.
Hmmm
For sure was feeling positive about this one but woken
Up with a sense of dread
I’m visiting a daughter in NYC and watching Leicester being dismantled by the Gunners
Leicester are playing Wolves style and it’s horrible to watch… slow and sideways
Toffees will surprise us I’m
Afraid
No easy games in the prem unless you’re Chelsea, Man City or Liverpool, and even Shitty managed to lose to the Hammers midweek. And 5 at Old Trafford…. Ha ha. Who had a bet on that I wonder?
Anyhow no one’s put 5 past us this season unlike the Toffees and we will have to deal with a wounded animal desparate for some points and respect.
No doubt they will fancy a bit of Wolfy if they have watched our last few games and RichCharley’sSon is no mug if the rest of his team is playing well. But they have been caught out a few times this term and we can do this if we get the 12th man on and get stuck in early.
Coady will set the tone, impressed with his captaincy this year, he’s cut out mistakes and started to throw in some good cross field diagonals. We could do with a performance from midfield as well. Still backing Traore to come good, Raul and Hwang can do damage. When it works it looks good so if we can find some consistant form we should stroll this.
1lv & COYW
‘….should squeak this’.
Like a fat mouse going through a small hole that’s been greased up with butter.
Mind going by todays results the top list is down to just Chelsea. Nuno came out wrong side of ‘El Sackio’, and City, well… Even when your team isn’t pulling up trees, the sight of others going down the pan has some comic value.
We up to 8th with a win Monday. Got to be done, Jah guide.
Wolves v Everton A brief look back in time to February 1967
For supporters of a certain vintage, the FA cup will always be close to our hearts. Memories of waiting with bated breath in the school playground as we listened on a smuggled in transistor to the cup draw live from Lancaster Gate (perhaps the Pete Murray show?).
The FA cup campaign of 1966/67 was no different. Wolves supporters had had our collective FA cup appetites whetted even further the previous 2 seasons following epic ties v Manchester United that attracted capacity attendances to Molineux and meant queuing for hours to get a ticket for the 1966 5th round clash.
Now into the 1967 4th round we sallied, after a 3rd round victory over Oldham Athletic (a 2-2 draw at Boundary Park when Wolves scored 2 in the closing stages followed by a 4/1 victory at Molineux in front of almost 40,000). However, we already knew our 4th round opponents as the draw had been made on the Monday lunchtime. Next up for Wolves – only the cup holders Everton. One of the most successful teams throughout that era, in the 1966 final Everton beat Sheffield Wednesday. Future Wolves player Jimmy McCalliog had put Wednesday ahead in 4 minutes and David Ford had increased their lead just after half time. However, Everton driven on by their formidable captain Brain Labone staged a remarkable comeback to win 3/2 in a cracking final made even more memorable and indeed hilarious by an Everton supporter, complete with braces to hold up his sagging trousers, evading rugby tackling police as he raced across the hallowed Wembley turf with a huge grin on his face.
(In the 6th round second replay Everton had beaten Manchester City 2/0 at Molineux which I attended with dad).
So, after another 6 or 7 hours queueing in the freezing February weather for a ticket on the North Bank terrace for THE game of the round, we eagerly awaited the kick off. Wolves were top of the old second division whilst the Toffees were riding high in the old first division.
The big day dawned……
With 53,439 sardined inside Molineux another classic cup tie unfolded before our eyes. On the tightly packed North Bank terrace crammed to its 9,500 capacity, the sweating hollering masses swayed and bayed and yelled and bawled and sang and shouted for the old gold to bring home the bacon versus the FA cup holders and glory be Wolves struck first. Left winger David Wagstaffe, the scourge of countless full backs, pulled the ball back from the bye line after making idiots of the Everton defence and with his right foot put over a perfect cross only for Bob Hatton to plant his header against the woodwork. Fortunately, Terry Wharton was ideally placed to stab home the rebound.
Cue mass bedlam around the stadium. With my Wolves scarf (knitted as a Christmas gift by gran) soaked in sweat as we celebrated with wild delight, I dreamt yet again of the twin towers.
Into the second half and Wolves maintained their 1/0 until Alan Ball went down as if a sniper had nailed him (yes cheating also happened 54 years ago) after a shoulder challenge by Duggie Woodfield. Penalty to Everton taken by Ball and it was 1/1.
However, the drama was not over as Wolves’ best player on the day Ernie Hunt, fired in a screamer right at the death that was heading towards the top left-hand apex of the North Bank goal until out of nowhere Gordon West pulled off a quite an unbelievable save as we surged down the terraces.
So, it was onto a replay under Goodison lights the following Tuesday evening. The winners drawn to play Liverpool in the 5th round!
Wolves lost 3/1 with Wharton scoring again. How I wept when the result filtered through. Wembley dreams over for another year. (Terry “Piggy” Wharton scored 69 goals for Wolves in 224 appearances. Pretty impressive for an out and out right winger although a fair few were penalties. In his overall career he scored 43 penalties from 44 attempts which places him third on the all-time list of football league penalty conversions behind Graham Alexander and Matt Le-Tissier. To this day I have no idea where or why his nickname originated).
So that’s all folks – Wolves v Everton down memory lane from well over half a century ago.
Wolves team all those years ago – 4-2-4

Gerry Taylor, Duggie Woodfield, John Holsgrove, Bobby Thomson

BOG
Thanks for the memory, BOG. I was there and for the only time in well over 1,000 appearances sat in the old Molineux Street stand. Had some Evertonians behind who were continually carping at Fred Davies to realease the ball more quickly only to advise him to hold on longer after the equaliser!
Thanks BOG, I was there too. Ball dived because they were going to lose, Woodfield never touched him. If “Duggie” touched you, you would end up in the stands, ask Mike Summerbee.
The memory man strikes again, great read, certainly took me down memory lane Bog. Regards to you and Bedders, miss his post.
Welcome back BOG. We’ve missed you’re insights of games gone by. Don’t remember the game tbh, though 66/67 was my first season. However, do remember the days of queueing round the North Bank and off down the Waterloo Road to get tickets for big games.
Great memories again BOG. 1st class as ever.
Brilliant mate!
COMBs!
I don’t like Everton. First game after we erre promoted, and we gave Richarlison too much space.
I repeat, virtually word for word, what I said before the last game:-
“There will never be a better time to play Everton”.
Only the name has changed.
They, like Leeds, have injuries, are in bad form and their manager is under pressure.
Only trouble was, we played for ten minutes and then just defended for the next eighty five.
If we do THAT on Monday, Everton, and Richarlison and Townsend in particular, will do US.
I want to see us back to the style of football we played in the first three matches.
Attack, attack, attack!
And a goal each from Raul and The Bull will see us win three points.
Another excellent article in today’s Telegraph about ‘The top flight’s deadliest striker’.
Guess who?
Not a good omen to be going up against a team that feels it’s in a must win situation but won’t/can’t predict a Wolves loss.
KA/TNs
Both teams still seeking best form. Goals in this one, but it’s a draw for me.
Much as most of us love Nuno to bits, and always will, I fear the poor lad is gonna be looking for a new job on Monday.
That shower of shit purporting to be Spurs players are a disgrace to their shirt, and should be sacked instead of Nuno, and let him rebuild with new, hungry players.
I have no love at all for the club, but what a sad position he finds himself in.
At least our boys only occasionally let him down, not every match.
There should be clauses written into every player’s contract to the effect that if they do not try, they don’t get paid!
And they could have Mike f…..in’ Dean adjudicating, over at Stockwell Park!!
We all love you, Dr. Nuno.
Great incentive to win this one. A top 8 awaits. I have a feeling Traore will come on late in the game. Probably Trincao or Podence up frony with Raul and Hwang.
If we can score the first goal, I can see us defending again (even though most have complained about that strategy last time out). Going for a sneaky 1-0 win with all fingers and toes crossed. Would love to see Raul get another goal.
Fully agree with earlier comment about our free kicks (I have been harping on about that very subject for months).
Wolves win!
I’d start trincao in place of traore and hoping ait nouri will be fit. I obviously want to win but a good performance would be nice. The results have been good recently but I don’t think we’ve played particularly well since Man Utd.
We are not going to lose this one but everton like newcastle just dont get me going and i have no idea why . Just the mention of some teams and i start yawning .
There were some extraordinary results yesterday and i have a feeling about tomorrow’s game.
Wolves to click, bruno to get his team and tactics right for once and earlier subs .
All good then.
We can’t play two crap games in a row, can we?
Time to show MOTD2 what we can do.
COYW, make me lose my voice!
Dan
The pitch will certainly need some watering before kick off….
When’s this rain going to stop..,
The dark nights are bad enough but still a trip to Dougie’s and Barb’s is always a joy.
Easy Peasy tomorrow night as a) I don’t like Everton and b) I like Benitez even less.
A win tomorrow will see us in a creditable 7th place so come on me babbeeez.
I well remember a 2-0 win at the Mol on a snow covered Saturday afternoon yonks ago and I’m going for some more of that..,
Jimi with a penalty and Saiss to put the saissing on the cake…
Marvellous scenes at the home of the 1982 European Champions. Mind the Gap. And Sandwell Town were on the end of a massive thrashing too. It’s been a bad weekend for under pressure managers and it will only get worse for the Fat Spanish Waiter. Rafa might as well pretend to be Manuel’s pet Rat off Fawlty Towers. He will be under fire from the Major. And half of Liverpool who hate the sight of him. Maybe the Rat will run up Rafa’s trousers and cause him major discomfort which will devastatingly affect his decision making and cause him to kick Richarlison in the f**king bollocks pre kick off. Thus ruling him out of the game tomorrow. Thus only serving to ensure the Evertonians will pour more hatred upon Rafa and cause panic in the Everton ranks. The inevitable conclusion is a comfortable 2-0 victory for WWFC. After the game Rafa said ” Everything was ok until that f**cking Rat ran up my trousers and bit me on the bollocks. It’s just my luck. But fuck the fans. They are just wankers”. WWFC 2 Everon 0.
rip .nuno ……from the spurms that is….hes not dead.
Another big payoff no doubt and not a few grand either so you cant feel too sorry but he’s a decent guy as we know and deserves better.
I know we have been picking up points but our recent performances have really worried me, we have been bloody awful with the ball. I really hope we can get back to the early season Bruno ball but with better results. That’s the conundrum I guess.
No idea what to expect from Everton as their collapse against Watford was really out of the blue. The only thing you can rely on is Richarlson bloody scoring post us.
Just got a lot of rational fear about this one. The thumping last week, Richie, Rondon,
, Gray, Townsend.. I dunno they just seem like the players to do us over. On the other hand we have Traore desperate to score in the big ones, Raul starting to show, podence equally fired and Hwangy and Silva who may yet surprise us. Equally they look very suspect at the back. So it’s well up in the air this one. I’m going for a high score draw even though my gut says defeat.
Our recent results have really papered over the fact that except for 10 minutes v Villa, we have not played very well at all.
Richarlison always scores against us, so that means at least 1 for them.
Whenever we are “just one win away from …. ” (insert 5th, Europe places etc) we seem to disappoint.
I might need some alcohol tonight for a dodgy tooth……and still over a week before my dental appointment. A shot of brandy might be on the cards, purely for medicinal purposes.
Looking forward to seeing Wolves baring their fangs tonight, under a howling moon. If that comes to pass, yours truly will be sporting an ear to ear grin…..or, it might just be the alcohol.
It can’t be your wisdom tooth, Dougie, surely not!!!
Nah, Clive, I’m all out of wisdom.
In the good old days you could have put a blue and white scarf on … strolled past the George at about 7 and they’d have knocked all those teeth out for him eh Clive ? !
Clove Oil – Helped me through a 18month dentist app waiting list due to Covid. It nullifies any pain – like anything.
But you will need the brandy to help with what ever is going to happen on that pitch tonight!
Cheers mate.
I was quite gung ho about tonight but that optimism is fading the closer we get to kick off. Brandy before and after the match methinks. Purely medicinal, of course.
As usual not sure on this one. Would love to have a win but at the moment I would happily settle for a point.
I’m still not sure I have a handle on where we are this season. For sure recent results have been positive. Some say that they have been ‘lucky’ results, but you make your own luck to a degree. There’s no doubt that there is room for improvement in a number of areas though.
Hwang and Jiminez are showing signs of forming a nice partnership, which is bringing some of those goals we have been lacking. But we are still profligate, which will hurt you against top half sides like Everton.
As for Everton, not easy to get an handle on them either. Decent results early on, but getting pasted by Watford is embarrassing.
I think it will be that pasting that will drive my prediction. Benitez will feel like he needs to make sure they don’t get another whooping rather than concentrating on how to win the game. So I think they will shut up shop and be content with a draw.
Hopefully Hwang/Jimmy will bag a chance or two, but I still don’t feel like I can bank on us scoring against a side that might be so desperate not to concede.
So regretfully – scoreless draw.
Nuno sacked at spurs. Never wanted him. He’s best off out of there. Will always be welcome at the Golden Palace. Sad.
It’s good to see that the vast majority of comments on the BBC Sports news website are sympathetic towards Nuno, and blaming Kane and Levy in particular. Hopefully he’ll receive a juicy payoff, and find a much better club. Meanwhile there are at least 6 English managers Levy could appoint, including Chris Haughton.
Big Sam is lurking………
Steve Bruce is lurking …….
Very true. Was it Fergie who said a Manager should’ pick the chairman not the club’ ? Nuno was on a hiding to nothing with that job. Hope he can retain some involvement at Wolves without undermining Bruno.
Disagree.
We don’t want a situation like they have at manure, with Fergie breathing down Ole’s neck.
Let’s keep our fondness for Dr. Nuno intact, wish him well in the future, and close that chapter in our history book.
Looking forward to tonight’s game. Hopefully we can sparkle and come away with all three points .
Haven’t been to the Mol on a on a Monday night for ages…..cant wait
COYW
This has 0-0 written all over it but a win puts us just above Spurs and I like the thought of that so a tight win it is then .
Come on you wolves
We are in a really good league position if we can bag the 3 points..
If traore is played ..Jimenez can do the business and our goalie is on form then we’ve won this ..COYW
Re Nuno sadly his poor attacking tactics were being emulated at Tottenham add the subs at the wrong time and confused communication and you have a repetition of our latter era with him ..who can stomach that? Good luck to him though..
Richardson would score against us even if he wasn’t playing
I’m going 2 one wolves
Sad for Nuno, don’t think that wolves have seen the last of him
Well, Newcastle are in the market! Nuno has pedigree in managing a taken-over club, and building from scratch. He did a first rate job for us until the final months. Who knows, they might be speaking Geordie up there with a Portuguese accent soon!
I’d rather Nuno sat the rest of the season out to recharge his batteries. He should have done that after Wolves. He’s only diminished his own worth with that poisoned chalice at Spurs. Daniel Levy, who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
Should have read 2 v 1
Wolves win.
A game under the lights – it’s gotta be a win…
Nuno should have steered clear of Spurs. Their history with managers under Levy says it all. Apparently one of their major complaints was Nuno’s playing style. Which is remarkable given anyone who has any interest in football knows how Nuno sets up.
And if players down tools, e.g. the hugely overrated Kane so beloved by the London centric media, then a manager has no chance. All of which was highly predictable the day he was appointed.
They were awful against Watford and their fans are already growing hostile towards Rafa (those who weren’t from the start). Could be a good time to play them.
Looking forward to this one …..and a few individuals performing to their best ….against what will likely be a team that will park the proverbial omnibus in order to avoid a second weekend battering

Staying in The Larches tonight. Lovely little place. If we play as good as this place looks then we should bag 3 points.
Nuno can never have this taken away. Turned Spurs over at Wembley 3-1. Then turned them over again 3-2 at their fancy new stadium. Nuno. Wolves legend.
It will be interesting to see if neves will be back. Ait-Nouri deserves to keep his place. We need to be much more attacking than against Leeds. Will Podence get a rare start? I have a feeling that trincao will return.
Down the years I’ve seen a whole variety of results against Everton so, I suppose, nothing would surprise me. But I do fancy us for this one. A couple of strange performances behind us so we are due for an evening in form. Raul is going to get a couple in one match soon so why not tonight. I suppose Richarlison will get his usual, so am going for 3-1 to us.
I was looking on line to see if I could find a copy of a photo I used to have – from the pink I think. It was v Everton on 21 January 1961 and showed Ted Farmer scoring his 21st goal of the season past Albert Dunlop. It was his 21st appearance and, on the 21st, was also his 21st birthday. He went on to score, I think, 27 goals in 28 games on his debut season – a record which probably still stands. This is a good article about Ted whose career was cut short by injury when he was 24.

He was part of the youth team that came back from 5-1 down in the first leg to win the FA Youth Cup – he scored 5 goals in the second leg. Jimmy Greaves was playing for Chelsea.
Another memory of a game against Everton was one which was abandoned because of fog. It was so thick that Dunlop in their goal at the South Bank end didn’t know that everyone else had left the pitch until a St. John’s Ambulance man came onto the pitch and told him.
So for tonight …… COYW
Great win . Another 3 points.
Lovely football weekend.
