As more players head for the exit door, Tuesday night’s win over Barnsley looks all the more important.

As I write this, bids have been accepted for both Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis with personal terms and medicals all but a formality. Farewell and good luck to both of those players. We close the door and move on.
One would hope that the money in the bank will not only bring in new talent but also stiffen the club’s resolve not to sell any other first team players. Doyle and Ward have been linked with Everton this morning and I wouldn’t like to see either of those two leave.
Surely the exit door at Molineux will now cease, at least until after Saturday’s game against Derby?
The Rams arrive in town without a win in their opening two matches. Late goals have cost them in both, squandering a two goal lead against Sheffield Wednesday on opening day before succumbing to Bolton in the dying seconds at the Reebok on Tuesday.
I do look at Nigel Clough’s squad and see a team still very much in transition. But they do have the forward players to cause problems with the pace of Ward and Tyson added to by the arrival of Connor Salmon from Wigan.
So because they don’t have a win and because Wolves are unsettled and still incredibly vulnerable at the back, I sense a banana-skin.
Wolves
It’s impossible to say we’ll miss Fletcher because we haven’t had him, but Jarvis will leave a gaping hole down the left. His link-up play with Ward was devastating on Tuesday so it will be intriguing to see how Solbakken patches up that area of the pitch.
He could simply bring in Stephen Hunt from the cold, who didn’t even make the bench against Barnsley. That doesn’t seem likely. Maybe he could shift Doyle out to the left and bring Sigurdarson in alongside Ebanks-Blake? I wouldn’t mind giving that option a go.
Or what about pushing Wardy into midfield and bringing Elokobi in at the back?
But what Ståle will probably do is give Forde another go down the left, where he put in a lively display against Aldershot in the League Cup. He showed great promise in that game but was anonymous in his 45 minutes at Leeds. It’s a gamble. This would be my preferred team:

I’d like to see if Doyler could fill in until reinforcements arrive and am intrigued to see Sigurdarson play from the start. To me at least, that looks like our strongest eleven from the players we have available. I don’t want to dwell, but it’s a shame Hammill and Milijas have been exiled. They would offer more options.
Opposition view
Massive thanks to Ollie from Derby County Blog (It’s a blog. About Derby County) for his contribution. Here’s what he had to say:
Derby fans will travel to the Black Country more in hope than expectation. The loss of Jarvis and Fletcher may have weakened you temporarily, but you should still have enough strength in depth to see us off on your own patch.
The fact that Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis have just attracted astronomical bids from Sunderland and West Ham means that, if Ståle Solbakken is unable to get Wolves promoted this season, he is officially the worst manager in history. With a cash boost of over £20m, on top of the lavish parachute payments provided by the Premier League to help relegated clubs ‘stabilise’, Wolves are essentially in a different league to the chasing pack and really should yo-yo back to the top flight very comfortably.
You’ve apparently come down in better financial shape than Derby did. Our US-based owners GSE have been chipping away at the wagebill ever since we were relegated in 2007-8. There’s now barely an ounce of fat left to be chopped out. Robbie Savage recently speculated that Derby now probably have one of the lowest payrolls in the division, despite having one of the highest average gates.
Despite the emergence of some very promising youth products and the recent signing of striker Conor Sammon, there is a general air of mild dissatisfaction among the Pride Park faithful.
In our last game at Bolton, we were ultimately beaten 2-0 despite matching the Trotters for long spells. We didn’t quite get the rub of the green with the key decisions, but the difference in substitutes really told you all you needed to know. Bolton were able to name the likes of Martin Petrov, Darren Pratley and Benik Afobe on their bench, whereas Derby had five players under the age of 21, two of whom – Will Hughes (17) and Mason Bennett (16) -came on. Both are prodigious talents, but are still learning their trade.
Predictions
In what must be record-breaking levels of optimism, 45 people correctly predicted we’d overcome Barnsley last time out.
Only 4 got the 3-1 scoreline though, so well done to me, NY Wolf, Bemused Wolf and Gold Coast Kiddy Wolf for doubling up. Everyone else takes a single.
Tricky one this weekend. Back-to-back wins would certainly ease the pressure on Ståle as he continues to reshape the squad.
We can definitely do it, particularly at home, but it’s a real test of the new system, without the pace of Jarvis to drive us forward.
Despite every fiber of my being telling me it’s got draw written all over it, I’ll back us to scrape a 2-1.
Up The Wolves.

I dont see this as a banana skin, we shouldnt even consider games like this as one – a win is utmost priority – everything is so fluid with the squad at the moment we just need to get the next 2 weeks over- on balance already Stales aquisitions have impressed me all three players i have seen play that have come to the club and played have impressed me – if the rumours of bolanos are true then im very happy indeed he looks a cracking player
With the problems down the left that are about to present themselves I’m 50/50 on this one.
However, Doyle down the left could work as long as he doesn’t drift up front too much, we all remember what happened when we played three strikers last season. :'(
Wolves 2-1 Derby
After the confidence boosting win against Barnsley I’m going for a 2-0 win.
Still no clean sheet. Same result as Tuesday.
Another morale boosting 3-1 home win.
I sense a 1-1 with Doyle equalising in the second half and their keeper having a blinder. Hope I’m wrong!
We should beat derby at Home. ?
2-1 Wolves
Doyle on the left is an alternative. Pezsko is two footed and his best foot is according to himself the left. That means he could feature on the left wing with Edwards on the right wing. Bolanos has been mentioned as one possible replacement for Jarvis and he is a right sided wing. Ismail is also a possibility
Jarvis is a good player, but it is incredible that we got 10.74 mill for him. His crosses aren’t that good and I’m 100 percent sure Bolanos will be an incredible replacement, if wolves buys him. I’ve seen him for play for Start, ages ago, in the Norwegian top division, and promise you he’s a very good player.
A Wolve victory 2-0
Might be a chance for some other players to shine other than the recently departed- Wolves win 3-0
Come on me babies
Ridiculous statement from the Derby fan. Money don’t win titles, players do. It’s one week left, and no guarantee that we’ll get a quality player before the window closes. Of course it’s Ståle’s responsibility to bring new talent in, but he’s in a tough position now. J and F should have been sold weeks ago.
Wolves 2 – Derby 1.
All the best to Jarvis and Fletcher, hope they do well in their future career.
What about a clean sheet this time : 2-0 Wolves.
I think if we show the confidence we showed when we went in front, we can win comfortably.
I think we will see Edwards come in at right midfield, and maybe Peszko on the left. Stale likes Eddo and he got a good goal on Tuesday.
Just please don’t let Hunt play.
Wolves will win 2-0, and collect a very rare clean sheet!
3-0 to the mighty Wolves. Brace for SEB and the rejuvenated Johnson from a corner.
Got offered a free ticket for Saturday, but can’t make it. Gutted. Although this does mean we are bound to win.
Fletcher and Jarvis sales all but done and dusted.
How can you possibly talk about wanting an immediate return to the premiership then go and sell the only two players of premiership quality we had – (Kites already gone and Henners injured). IMHO this smacks of a total lack of ambition from M&M. We should be keeping our best players and supplementing them with other premiership quality players bought with the “Treasure Chest” Morgan promised would be available to the new manager. The players we should be selling are those who failed to cut it in the premiership.
Instead we’ve a guy West Ham didn’t want and who hardly set Division 2 alight, a youngster from Walsall who is unlikely to feature this year, a couple of loan signings and a guy with potential but unproven outside Denmark. Grand total of less than £3M. It doesn’t look like the “Treasure Chest” exists and I wonder how much of the Fletcher / Jarvis, (Vokes, Kightley etc), fees will actually be spent on players.
Even if SS gets his hands on the money time is running out in which to bring in new players.
Feel a little disillusioned at the moment.
Back to the present – Bring in Elokobi and move Ward forward.
2 – 0 Wolves.
All good comments mate. I agree 100%
Ambition is something this club lacks in a plenty..
Good businessmen but s**t at Football….
We have to make do with the hand we are dealt until the time comes that someone wakes the 2 M’s up and says Success costs Money….
They don’t like it on here though if you try and educate them how football works today, espescially in the premier league.
I just go along with the flow now..
Great win on Tuesday, thoroughly enjoyable stuff.
Regarding the Derby fan i’m not sure even a lemon eating a lime could be more bitter.
Yes we’ve got money for many reasons including charging more than £2 in a game.
Their big gates tickle me.
Remember this?
http://i.imgur.com/dWiOy.jpg
LOL.
Fancy another win but I know you’ll be witnessing my full rage when the window closes.
Moxey Out.
Oh 2-1 prediction btw.
i can see a close game so 2 1 wolves i hope we bring in 2 maybe 3 more players left back. central defender winger who can play on both flanks so far i think sol is on the right lines . good luck to jarvis and fletch and thanks .
Don’t even consider this as a slip up, we’re in the Champ not playing the big boys in the PL. This is one of those numerous ” bread and butter games ” which we will have in this league and though some of them will be difficult or even worse we must consider them as 3 points at home and maybe 1 or 3 away. Get points in the bag from the word go, and hopefully there’ll be enough in the bag for when the going gets tough, because it will at some point.
Come on Ståle show us what you can do, 6 points by the end of Aug and at least 16 by the end of Sept……..and so on……..We are a very demanding set of supporters, just like in every other club. The only difference is WE are WW.
As ever UTW !!!!
2-0 Wolves
Hopefully Stale has been working with the defense this week and they tighten up on the errors
UTW!
If Stale is as shrewd and detailed as we all hope he is, he will have lined up his wish list some time ago.
His biggest hurdle I fear is not going to be persuading players to come to the Mol, but getting those tight, fat pudgy, greasy fingers of Moxeys off the purse strings.
Could be a tricky task Clive. He may get £5m if he’s lucky so, along with the profit made on transfers so far, that’ll be well over £20m in Moxey’s bonus/lard fund and Morgan’s building coffers.
Wolves 3-0. Should roll.
Just heard big Sam on Sky giving the praise to Jarvis..
Now there is a promoted premier league Manager buying Premier league players…
We can live in hope.
Moxey ???
Sorry Thomas but I am going to go along with you again for a 2-1 win.
I think, other than those kept by Ståle, we should forget the MM players.
Good luck Jarvo, Fletch, Kites et al.
As Clive says, I am sure our manager has his transfer targets in place.
The question is, will Moxey and Morgan dig deep and quickly enough, into their pockets?
Anyway I am going for another rarity our defence does not concede.
Wolves 2 Derby 0
Not that worried about Fletcher leaving, this is Sebs league I can see him hitting 20 this season. Sad to see jarvis go but you have to say Jez squeezed every penny out of Sunderland and West Ham. I would have thought Hammill was the natural successor to Jarvis but for some reason he’s not fancied come to think Mick did’nt have trust in him either, wonder why.
I think derby will be more difficut than barnsley but you could see the confidence returning so I’m going for a 2-1 win.
Just one more thing how nice was it to leave a game with a smile , here’s to many more.
I’m going for a 0-0 frustrater of a game.
So nice to listen to a comfortable Wolves win for once. Got to love the championship. Going for a 2-0 Wolves win on Saturday
Got to Love the championship..
Ummmm…..
Very much tongue in cheek
I am going bank on the law of averages that sooner or later we can blnk em. So for me its 2-0 win for us.
Got to disagree about seeing Doyle out wide, surely that hasn’t really worked in the past. I really wish we could see the old Doyle with impish grin sniffing around the box. Ward would not be a disaster out there.
2-0 Come you guys and lets get behind em again.
I seem to remember us getting spanked by Albion when Doyle was deployed down the left, hopefully that’s not an omen! With the Leeds horror show now a distant memory and me brimming with confidence after Tuesday’s win I’m going for two on the bounce.
Wolves 2-1 Derby
Don’t forget it was switching Doyle to the left that inspired our comeback from 0-2 against Swansea.
Back after an exile
I’ve heard something about 3 million for a Swindon winger Richie or something?
Not too sure to be honest as it sounds like more of a McCarthy signing than an SS one.
This game will be interesting, derby are a solid side and will expose the defensive frailties with ease.
Personally I would like to see hunt at LM as he puts in a good shift – and he should be fit now – but forde seems more likely
Going for 5-1 wolves, I’m not high or drunk either, I can just see Ebanks Blake getting a hat trick and 2 goals from someone else
Going for 5-1 wolves, I’m not high or drunk either, I can just see Ebanks Blake getting a hat trick and 2 goals from someone else
Seems an alien thing to suggest, but I’m backing us to keep a clean sheet and pick up a 2-0 win.
3-1 Wolves. I think Tuesday’s game showed that we should have enough quality to see off the poorer sides in the league without having really gelled properly yet. I certainly think Derby fall into that bracket and at home we really ought to do the business. Blake to bag a brace.
Bit of a flat prediction here, but I reckon our recent player exits might upset us a little:
Wolves 0-0 Derby.
4-0 the the Mighty Wolves
The players will be keen to show that we don’t need Jarvis or Fletcher. We’ve already forgotten about that injury prone bloke who’s gone to Stoke, what was his name….. and by next week we’ll have forgotten about the other 2.
UTW
4-0 Wolves
Jarvis was essential. No replacements will be in for this game. Our defence is still poor. I have a bad feeling. Wolves 0 Brighton 1. Sorry.
Been on the turps?
Yes. I was well and truly sozzled last night.Where i got brighton from was after the 12th bottle of san miguel light.
We might lack a bit of punch with Jarvis gone ,whatever happens out left it will be a new enough venture and not overly tested. Hunt or hammill… If he can be brought in from the cold .bring in bjorn drop Doyle. Steady 1-0 home victory.
I can see Wolverhampton prevailing by a scoreline of two to zero. 2-0 to the Wolves.
I’m going to say 1 – 0
To us of course!
Wolves 1 Derby 1
I think this is the start of good things to come. I’d much rather see that cash invested in youth development than a few new signings with the hope of immediate promotion. Much bigger fan of sensible buys and developing from within. It’s the like the difference between training your body to be fit and recover well and just using steroids to patch a hole. Wolves 3-0
Worried we may be a bit deflated.
Wolves 0 – Derby 1
Have to be optimistic.
A hard, tough, close game.
But at the end 1 goal for Wolves.
Hope it will be a Doylergoal
Wolves 3 – 0 Derby
UTW
Well, off go Jarvis and Fletcher. No surprise there, then. I don’t know if everyone’s already seen this, but this the link to a really good article on Sky Sports about the Fletcher transfer – I don’t usually like Sky Sports’ reporting, but this was really good.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11096/7992498/
Hopefully we have some replacements lined up. Early reports suggesting Christian Bolanos (Costa Rican international, signed by STS at Copenhagen) or Robbie Brady (Man Utd youngster, Irish U21 international, played on loan for Hull last term). Replacements for Fletcher, I don’t know…is that Sigurdarson, or will a new, more experienced player come in? We shall see.
Not convinced the revolving door has quite shut yet – Milijas, Berra (although if he thinks he’s going to a Premiership team, he’s having a laugh), Jonsson etc.
We still can’t keep a clean sheet, but I think that even without Jarvis we’ll have the beating of Derby…
2-1 to Wolves.
Im going for a 1-0 win here, FWAW /\_/\
Sigurdarson to score late on!
According to the E&S we are close to agreeing a deel for Austria Vienna centre-back Georg Margreitter for £2m. 23 yrs old, 6ft 2 and described as commanding. Sounds a bit like a replacement for Johnson not a partner, would like to see some pace also. Didn’t we once buy a really good centre forward from them as well for about the same money?! (Just looked it up and it was Rapid that we had the Hoff from).
OK for the important stuff 2-0 Wolves we were to good for poor oposition on Tuesday night and i think we will be the same against Derby even without Jarvis. Dont want to see Doyle on the wing i just dont think that gives us a good balance in the middle – I would give Forde another go.
On the transfers of Jarvis and Fletcher i would like to say a massive well done to the much criticised Wolves board. Both players wanted out and we have still managed to leverage every penny out of Sunderland and the Porn barons.
Think we will have to work very hard in the remaining bit of the transfer window both on further thinning out the squad (Hammil, Big george and Hunt) and bringing in a few players I think we need a center back, replacement ofr Jarvo and i would like to see us bring in a left back. Been very impressed with new signings so far fingers crossed we can keep any future signings the same quality.
Would have been fairly comfortable had we still had Jarvis terrorising down the wing . So I hope Peszko plays out left with Edwards on the right . The defense is due a clean sheet and this game is a real opportunity . An early goal again will settle any nerves , just like Tuesday , so , that being the case ,
Wolves 3 Derby 0 .
Sad to see the players go but don’t think the club had much choice with the players wanting to earn at least double the money they would be on at Wolves. To keep them would almost have been cruel, apart from the added problem that their attitude would have affected morale.
Worrying that Doyle, Ward & Johnson are attracting interest. Whatever happened to the bid for Ashley Barnes at Brighton?
In terms of result I would expect to win this one, 2-0. I would play Edwards on the right & Peszko on the left, the rest the same if the personnel are still with us!
Despite a fairly unconvincing defensive display on Tuesday, I’m backing us for a win and a clean sheet. I can see them being very well-organised and it will be by no means a formality. 2-0 to Wolves
2-0 to wolves with SEB and Peszko to get off the mark. A few dodge moments at the back but ultimately a clean sheet and 3 points.
That derby guy made me realise something – I personally wasn’t expecting promotion straight away. Losing players, in a transition period whilst in a very tricky league. But with the money we have and the parachute payments a lot of other clubs will look at us with a bit of fear / envy.
If Stale really can bring in a few good players and we can get some wins under our belt we should go at teams and try and dominate them straight away and use any psychological advantage we can get!
I TOLD YOU SO!
It’s not often that I’m proved right so it gives me great pleasure to quote verbatim my August 15th comment.
“I’m going out on a bit of a limb here but I find myself starting to quite admire JM’s stubbornness on the Fletcher/Sunderland deal. I think that he might well pull off a financial coup because Sunderland are really desperate for a proven striker. If it all goes mammaries up and we end up with an unsettled striker and no new defenders I shall search out the hair shirt, but for the moment let’s wait and see what goes down. I really don’t think that the money we get from the deal is essential for any purchases Ståle might have in mind, so he is either working away at strengthening the team or he has been told he has to stick with what he’s got.”
Thank you and goodnight!
Oh! yes – I nearly forgot. Wolves to win 3-1.
2-0 should be an easy win…..
3-1 wolves to win
Derby are still a work in progress far more than we are! 2-1 win for us…two on the trot for Ståle`s boys!!!
UTW
We are going to miss Jarvo regardless of who else is brought in – but I think he deserved his move back to the top flight. Still pessimistic about Ebanks-Blake so 1-0
Come on you lot, chins up and a smile on your faces. We’re back in Seb land for a season at least ,and he’s going to excel, just like he did before. He’ll trim down a bit and soon he’ll be as sharp as a razor again.
Ståle has been busy behind the scenes for weeks because he knew there would be departures and he knew there would be funds to spend, though how much and when it would be made available was always unclear. However even the doziest numbskull would expect this “war chest ” to be quite a considerable sum, bearing in mind the comments being made by people in the know within the club.
Exciting times, new stadium, Compton Park development, new broom, new signings who actually want to play for the Wolves. What more do you want ?
This is our purdah for last seasons failures. We will come back a stronger team and club. Believe !!!
As ever UTW !!!! AND WW3 Rams1
I have a feeling the loss of Fletch and Jarvis will have a bigger hit on morale than people realise
Score: 1-1
Just heard we signed “Margarita” Austrian U 21. Any info on him.
Hope we see more of him than the last Austrian, by the way is mairhoffer still our player?
2-0
Margarita.
Staple drink of Texas.
Like mine on the rocks with salt on the rim, and a shot of Amaretto to smooooooth it out!
Three of them and you feel no pain!
Now what was the question again?
I’m split between feeling gutted to see two top quality players jump ship and very impressed we squeezed more than their value out the idiots, mainly just relieved to see the back of tired and predictable stories.
Wolves 2 Derby 0 (Henry and Siggy)
Henry out for tomorrow.
Good luck on Saturday against the Rams. We’ll need lady luck on our side…Typically, Wolves have not done well against sides with losing records. So far, that’s Derby. Expect a loss tomorrow, sorry to be a little negative but I feel this one. I’ll say Derby 1, Wolve nil..
My natural pessimism says we’ll miss the drive and directness of Jarvis. Wolves to struggle 0-1 Derby.
Ok so Moxey did what he was supposed to do and drove a hard bargain to those premiership predators after our two most valuable assets.
I noticed in his column in the programme on Tuesday that Moxey said that “what happens on the pitch is the priority” – well as far as last year goes, the new stand took priority to such a degree the team performances on the pitch got us relegated. You prat and bullshiter Moxey !1
Its a pity Moxey wasn`t so clever over the three years of our premiership tenure, we wouldn`t be where we are now. I can only say that the premiership experience of many of our players stood out on tuesday, and probably will all season. Could do worse than put George at left back, and ward left wing/midfield, at least the game should be more entertaining !! Scoreline, well Derby have some pace up front with Tyson, and whats a clean sheet, so a repeat of the Barnsley 3-1 score will do nicely Stalle thankyou.
What an administrator Jez Moxey has proved himself to be. Fantastic business. Anyobdy who questions him now has to have a good long look at themselves.
Wolves 4 Derby 1
I have a mirror in front of me, and all I see is perfection………..
The ones who need to take a long hard look at themselves are Allardice and O Neil.
Great at Business ideas yes I agree,
But S**t at Football ideas.
If he hadn’t messed up in the first place we wouldn’t have had to sell em cause we wouldn’t have gone down.
To repeat an earlier post, Beating the top six in the premier league to beating Barnsley at home. Is Good progress indeed Mr Moxey and Mr Morgan.
Andy ,Have alook at what is happening on the pitch, There is alot more involved in being a successful CEO than selling your best players. He is more than just an administrator ,he sets budgets,as agreed with the owner, sets wage caps and negotiates transfers, amongst many other reponsibilities. As one of the highest paid Chief executives in football he should be held responsible along with the team manager for the success or failure of the football club. Performances and results have been awful for over a year now.If we are not careful another relegation fight is looming.Jez Moxey should accept responsibility for these failures. If you went today you will realise your 4-1 prediction was about as likely to happen as someone finding cheese on the moon.
I fancy a clean sheet for this one. Illogical i know, but 1-0 for me.
Going for a narrow Wolves win, think the exit of Jarvis and Fletcher will galvanise the team.
1-0
I keep hearing about the wonderkid Zele Ismail, I havent seen anything of him, any chance Thomas you could right an article on the up and coming in the academy / reserve teams, would love some insight there.
As for the match, we had better not lose to Derby or I will suffer horribly at work next week. But I will go for a score draw, staying negative on the predictions and hope I finish bottom.
Wolves 1 – 1 Derby
Good idea AmberW.
It is definitely something that bugs me. We hear a lot about what a great Academy we have and how we need to grow our own wood. I am not doubting this but in MMs 5 years I can only think of Hennessy making the first team on a regular basis (and he came from Man City as almost the finished article) Sure Lescott and matt Murray but that was a long times ago.
OK we see a few nearly coming through but no one in the regular first team yet. For sure MM would never give them a chance anyway, but whaats stirring down at the Compton. I have always been a firm believer of blooding them early. Most great players broke through in their late teens we seem to send them out in the country.
Sorry guys just testing my avatar appears in the blog now. 🙂
Wolves 1 – 1 Derby
You look just like Clive…
Thank you Thomas…………….what happened to monitoring cruel and abusive comments??!!
Ha, sorry mate.
There’s only me, you and Ben who use our own faces and it didn’t seem fair to pick on him when he’s not here.
I resent that remark. I use my own face – it’s just that it was the face I had the very week that I first saw Wolves play. Quite some time ago it has to be said.
I know mine’s a picture of a painting of me but it is still my face!
Tough week. Derby haven’t won yet and as underdogs have nothing to lose. We have everything to lose, having already lost j and f. I’d like to know more about this Austrian chap. Hope he’s better than maierhoffer.
I still think we will do it. Wolves to win 2 – 0
Utw
Fairwell to fletcher & jarvo i wish them well.
Now lets kick on,wolves to win 2-0.
I’m a bit worried about the calibre and price of the player’s we’re bringing in,they all seem to be about 2 mil mark so it looks like moxey ‘s got his hand in they transfers ,
what pisses me off is he seems to be doing it on the cheap again, nothing wrong with that if it pays off,but the rule of thumb is you get what you pay for.hope i’m wrong
I still feel we have what it takes to win promotion, losing Jarvis and Fletcher is a bitter pill to swallow but at least we have been in the position to get big money for them both. I know a lot of fans are probably asking where is this transfer money going and why hasn’t it gone to Duncan Goodhew 🙂 (Solbakken). I want to see us spend money and buy promising or well established players but I also don’t want us to fall to the same formula that has other clubs in trouble i.e. Portsmouth, Plymouth and Rangers.
I’m not sure about playing Doyle left, I like Steppenwolfe’s shout of drafting in Elokobi and playing Ward Left Midfield.
I think the result will be Wolves 2 – 0 Derby
Yes Lee, JM did well to push up the transfer fees but I hope that means there’ll be more to spend, that’s a logical conclusion I think !!! I won’t hold my breath on that one mind. There’s absolutely no chance of WW going the same way as P,P, R and don’t forget Leeds and Aldershot and us in the 80’s, but then I’m OK with that.
As ever UTW !!!
We’ll go up 2-0 but then get pushed back.
2-2
When WAS the last time we held a clean sheet? I can’t remember…
I think the boys are playing a bit more in rhythm and any dark clouds from Fletcher/Jarvis will be gone. Time to put on the optimistic shades for a bit.
3-0 Wolves. Its magic time again.
Players leaving will always lead to opportunities for others to step up to the mark. That’s what hasn’t happened over the past few seasons and some players become complacent and go off the boil. There’s a few of those still at the club, on an easy number and almost permanently injured or trying to get fit. The sooner they are moved on the better so that the wulfcubs can have their turn. I don’t think that J and F leaving will be a major surprise to the other players, it wasn’t for me, not once the process started. I would suspect that Plan B has been in place for a while or at least I hope it has been.
As ever UTW !!!
I too and plumbing for that 5-1 home win.
No, I haven’t been on the Margreitters either, but I’m just recalling another omen when we beat a team from the East Midlands by the same margin at a similar time of year in the season we won promotion.
Not that my leads omen worked, but hey ho!! :o)
Im gonna go for a narrow 2-1 win to us.
Who ??
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8015301/?
3-1 Wolves Ebanks hat-trick
Look at the Notlob v NF match tonight, 4 ex-WW players on show. I’ll bet they can’t wait to get back to the Mol’. Ho..ho…ho. What a surprise they will get here, I hope.
As ever UTW !!!
With no Henry or Jarvis I think we will struggle. Confidence is the key though so I’ll say Wolves 3-0 Derby!!!!
Defence is still shit so I’ll go for a Wolves win 3-2.
i believe that players should go if they don’t want to play for you-so great bit of business. we never really got to know Fletcher so no great loss in the long term. he’s likely to end up as a football journeyman anyway. (kenny miller anyone?) I’m surprised that Jarvis would want to join up with Mike Bassett and the 2 most ungracious and ignorant of club owners. so , good luck to them.
I said after Leeds that we would win the next two home games, so I’m sticking with that.
We will miss Henry and I would like to see Nouble get time on pitch today.
My new seat in Stan Cullis Upper is great and the pitch view is fantastic.
Wolves 3 Derby 0
Late on due to bank holiday working (which sucks) but buoyed by the midweek result even if it was against Barnsley. 2-1 Wolves
Just in time 3-2 wolves
Ouch …..Sickner 93rd minute. Deja vu
I think it was a point won rather than 2 points lost. Unfortunately WW still look a little bit lost in certain positions. This may be the case for a few matches as they become adjusted to the demands of the CH. This was always going to be a tough old season, just check out what other relegated teams have done over the years, not very impressive at all. Ståle needs support from the supporters, lets make sure he gets it.
As ever UTW !!!!
Hard to swallow such a late goal. But still undefeated at home is one way to look at it. Happy to see Doyle getting one although I fancied Bjorn to start . Hopefully a couple of arrivals during the week will bring fresh energy to the club. Looking forward to Northampton game now, might be a chance to blood some new guys before Cardiff . Long season ahead I know we’ll find our groove.
Well They ain’t learnt a lot from last year have they..
Inability to pass the ball to each other and keep it for 2 minutes…
To be honest we were second best on the day.
Must do better.
I thought we played poor today as a team missed Henry and jarvo and derby deserved their equaliser,i thought they passed the ball about very well and overall they deserved the draw.
lets hope we can get that winger we are looking at and perhaps a bit more quality in midfield.
Rome wasn’t built in a day!
