Kenny Jackett’s Molineux win ratio must be as good as any manager we’ve ever had.

Unlike so many previous incumbents, he actually gets the crowd on side from the off by playing high tempo, attacking football.
I worried the loss of Bakary Sako would take the wind out of our home performances, but despite patchy results, we’ve come out of the blocks quickly against both Hull and QPR.
Where we seem to have fallen short is making the most of the chances we create and being overly generous at the back.
If we can cut out the silly errors, soft penalty concessions and horrific goalkeeping errors, I still think we can beat anybody.
Charlton
The Addicks had a tough start on paper, so to be sitting third in the table, undefeated and with a couple of wins up their sleeve suggests good things are happening at the Valley.
When they came to Molineux last season, in Guy Luzon’s first game in charge, they were solid at the back and dangerous on the break in a competitive nil nil. It was a good Championship performance.
Perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise then that they’ve progressed and could very well be that surprise package who slip under the radar in the early months.
Like most foreign managers, Luzon has filled his team with an assortment of European talent making Charlton a real unknown quantity. I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ve got to offer on Saturday.
Wolves
Here’s a brain teaser for you. How many players could you definitively say would be guaranteed to start for Wolves tomorrow?

After last Saturday’s indifferent display and the more encouraging midweek performance, Kenny has selection dilemmas all over the pitch.
Will Ikeme retain the number one slot despite costing us a goal at Cardiff? Did the likes of Doherty and Price do enough to warrant a recall? What about up front? Is Le Fondre now in contention for a start?
Good luck working all that lot out. The above XI is one of probably two dozen or so permutations given all the players the head coach has at his disposal. He needs to establish his best team sooner rather than later.
The gaffer
Predictions
I have no idea what will play out tomorrow. I said Charlton are an unknown quantity and that’s kind of how I feel about Wolves right now.
There are a good players all over the pitch, but it was concerning how easily we were nullified against Cardiff and then exploited defensively.
My gut instinct is the team will put on a significantly better performance and hopefully that will deliver the result we so desperately need ahead of the international break.
2-1
Up The Wolves!

We must win this one everyone if only to keep pace with the others..
Complicated choice in midfield ..
Will he put in EBL yet again..? Hause or EBL is dodgy and our opposition knows it too..he could bring in Iorfa to the middle perhaps?
We so desperately need a class stopper..(yawn….)
I’m praying that Afobe scores just to soak in the adoration from the crowd as in..he’s wanted..Dicko and KJ strange relationship ..I’d play him..which leaves lefondre chomping at the bit on the bench with bright..then there is Wallace also queuing up too..
Nice problems in some ways but not in defence…
If we create chances which we should then let’s take them this time ..it leaves a goal for them in hand when we give stuff away…
Sounds critical I know.. but I know we’ll give stuff away..
Ikeme for me…
COYW
Can’t see the score boxes but I’m in the med and it’s a crap signal… 3-1
Get out of the water!
Clean sheet time, and Afobe having a blinder.
Can’t see a spot to put my predicitions so will place them here:
Wolves 3
Charlton 0
Sorry mate, forgot to switch predictions on. Make sure you resubmit using the boxes or it won’t count.
I’m not saying anything until the prediction boxes come back!
Can’t see a win at the weekend, our weaknesses are self evident and being exploited, we need to buckle down and defend better and put some of the chances we have created away. We profligate at both ends and that wont end well…………….
Its probably time for a safety fiirst approach. The priority has to be to stop leaking goals. I’d like to see Iorfa moved to the centre and the Doherty/Henry combination restored on the right, Golbourne/Ojo on the left, Afobe in the hole and Dicko up front. I understand that holding midfielders is now a difficult call after Price’s performance against Barnet. (But it was against Barnet who weren’t even in the league a year ago). As for GK, its anybody’s guess…
I’m with Wolfman and Amber on this one.
Prove us wrong!
UTW!
KJ has some hard choices to make this weekend, glad he has the problem and not me.
Like everyone else I think we desperately need some experience at the back, EBL is not the answer in my opinion, but who is at the moment. I would definately have Ikeme in goal (if only to pacify the PMDG) and Afobe is nailed on to be in the team, after that perm any 9 from the rest
Tough game this one, especially when we’re not in our best form.
I also think we’ll be better this week and i think we’ll nick it by a goal. Afobe to score and keep the rumour mill turning
If EBL is in I would alter my prediction to 5-0, he showed enough on Tuesday to suggest he is a definite liability, he gives too many passes away.
I would put Deslandes in place of Hause, he has gone backwards lately and does not look as confident as he was before. So give the French lad a start, why not he’s turning heads. Then Enobakahre is another who has earned a start, it will put pressure on Dicko to get into gear, if Dicko slots a couple in I think it will kick start him again.
But Charlton are doing well at the moment and did what Wolves can’t seem to to and that’s see a team off, on Tuesday theystuffed the opposition 4-0, I think they will take us apart and the rot will continue.
My Opinion only from what I’m witnessing at the moment, prove me wrong but I don’t think it will happen yet.
🙁
Thank you Mark..Good suggestion..
3-1 again.In the box..
My nose is telling me that it’s going to be a long season and our top(ish) spot place is going to happen after Xmas..
That’s when we get a DEFENDER lol
Wish you were all here in Rhodes its 93 degrees and I’ve just bumped in to a bloke who had a Charlton Athletic shirt on..
I said you’ve got no chance mate you’ll get stuffed on Sat..his wife next to him said ‘darling surely not on holiday – football’ and now I’ve got a 10 Euro bet on much to his wife’s disgust..
Oh for the love of football…
Whereabouts on Rhodes are you mate?
We spent a holiday in Lindos a couple of years ago at the ‘Rhodes Rock’ music festival.
Beautiful place.
Actually Ixia near Up from Rhodes itself on the other side..we are hiring a car in two days to go to Lindos …better beaches on that side too…
Bloody hot at present almost up to Clive’s
temp in Houston..
A good win beckons……….
Clean sheet time, and Afobe having a blinder.
Thanks for sorting out the post Thomas.
Oh, and I hope Fulham are succesful in their bid.
If we are as clueless as we were against Cardiff….
Very much in agreement with your comments Thomas, so much of the unknown, unpredictable to Wolves so far and add in the Charlton aspect and = confusion. Staying sat on the fence , but sitting hopefully
I’ll go for a tight draw.
Reading through the comments it’s a full range of results from a dreadful beating to a comfortable win. Based on what I’ve seen so far and the face they will be full of confidence I have to predict a loss. Come on Kenny at least find us a centre half.
I dont sit on fences, I am The Fenceman!
Charlton have to lose sometime, so why not against us?
If the bollocking so richly deserved has been given this week after that insipid performance in the valleys, then there should be some inspired players looking to put things right. If they underperform again, or do not respond positively, they should be fucked off, and the youngsters waiting in the wings brought in.
That result should also have been another huge wake up call for blob and greasel, to strengthen the defence, but it wont be. Only a few more days until I bring out my finely honed silverware!!
And as usual, a happy F O wb to you all.
Come on me babbies
Sorry but this team lacks the killer instinct and leaks goals. They have had enough boots up the rear end recently so now how about lobbing a hand grenade in among them. I’d keep the same team that won in the week and see if that shakes a few of them up.
Fortunately my predictions are about as good as our back line at the moment so we may well grab a win.
We are about to surprise everyone and keep a clean sheet. Afobe to raise his value with a goal and ALF to get on the scoresheet too.
I think KJ will revert to Afobe and Dicko up front. If that doesn’t produce a goal expect Le Fondre and Bright coming in with 15 mins to go. Are we writing Macdonald off already? Also Henry if available will be preferable to Ojo. I see VLP is on the wanted list too. That should please a few bloggers here who don’t seem to rate him so highly. We need to win this one!!
Vic,
Apparently Leeds have bid £500k for him – are they mad? Have they seen him play? Perhaps they are using the Brentford template for scouting (Champ Manager!).
Pay THEM £250K and get rid!
COYW!
I’ll drive him there
I’m going to be right with a clean sheet one of these days
Im a beliver.
We need a clean sheet, and a couple of goals will do fine.
Charlton will not take this one.
Glory glory Halelujah
I just fancy us to win this one at a canter, no idea why. I`ve not been smoking any wacky baccy, its just the thought of a two hour drive back to Nottingham after either another defeat, and/or an awful display – is too much to contemplate.
We need the points and a performance so KJ tell the boys to deliver please. Thankyou.
Two hours from Nottingham? Are you on a bike? I lived in Chilwell and it only took me one!! lol
Need a win, think this will be the game we get it, goal in both halves
What I want to see:
Ikeme
Golbourne-Stears-Hause-Iorfa
Ojo-Price-Coady-Henry
Afobe
Dicko
What I think we’ll see:
Martinez
Golbourne-Stears-EBL-Iorfa
Ojo-McDonald-Price-Edwards
Afobe
Le Fondre
A good performance needed at home so going for a comfortable win with us to score early goals
this forecast is like 2nd ( or 3rd) marriages..a triumph of hope over experience
This must surely be the only football blog to feature a quote from Samuel Johnson.
Well said, there is always hope.
Who does he play for?
Is he a defender?
Can we sign him?
I think he might have played for Lichfield Academicals, he was big enough to make a good defender …… only trouble is he died in 1784
So he’s probably signed for the shit then………………..
He’s still rated in the literary ghost league as a fine defender, plays alongside Samuel Beckett!
Marin County?
Hilarious….
So true….
Hope that great deceiver….
I think that we should definitely play Dicko.
I don’t know what’s been going on with him. Perhaps Kenny forgot to give him a birthday cake or Jez has confiscated his meat pies.
Or maybe he’s pining for his mate who now plies his trade in the Premier League.
Whatever it is, when Nuoah is fit and firing he can destroy any defence in this division with his pace and his power. So a bit of man management is required to get him back to full ramming speed.
And thanks, Tipton Exile, for suggesting that Ikeme should be in. If you can have a word with Kenny it will keep the PMDG’er sweet for another weekend.
I see that Joey Barton has gone to Burnley so we can stop thinking about what he might have done for us.
Do you know what. I reckon what we really need is another experienced defender.
I’m surprised that nobody else, especially Steve Showcase, has mentioned this before.
About time you supported me (and stu) you educated ancient Rock lover lol..as much as taking the pee out of me a bit..If we all do not get on the bandwagon then by the time it’s very much more than obvious it will be too late to put this right.
We just can’t go on conceding (even lowly Barnet)
plus it pisses off those who score.. and who would want to gamble on Afobe staying or not because all his goals were just to even out those we concede.
Can the Ms and KJ wake up!!
We can go on and on and on about this fekin’ defender issue but it won’t make a blind bit of difference as no matter what is said, it is the powers that be that will decide.
I am getting a tad bored of hearing the same stuff over and over and over – yawn!!!
you started it!!!
That means you’ve got the gist then mate..
Lol. Certainly have mate.
Pleasure my friend. If I had influence with KJ I would see what I could do.
Would love to see us in for Lescott, personally. I thought it might be a bit of a backwards step, but then I watched the Cardiff game.
Dicko simply must play. I don’t understand that at all.
The same goes for Scott Golbourne. He’s the best left back we’ve had since Andy Thompson and we drop him to play a centre back at left back. It’s beyond me.
I think JL could pass on a lot of his experience to our youngsters. There’s a lot of raw talent there which just needs a bit of guidance. Just hope we don’t faff about wages etc and have someone else snap him up.
Just remembered Denis Irwin as left back. Can’t leave him out.
If I wanted to predict anything but a Wolves win I wouldn’t be on this site!!!
Charlton (who are they?) to miss a shed load of chances and Wolves poach two goals
I have no clue what will happen or who will be on the pitch but I don’t really care as long as we win.
Leeds after Rajiv van La Parra then?
That came out of nowhere.
Yeah and as I alluded to in an earlier post – Norwich want Stearman!!!
An average result to mirror some very average performances
Not got a single prediction right so far … would be more than happy for Wolves to win and get my prediction wrong again 🙂
Good grief, it’s nearly Saturday already! It must be old age but time seems to be flying by…….
Enough of that, let’s concentrate on the footie 🙂
I have faith that we will get back on track with this game, I mean we can’t play any worse than we did away to Cardiff can we? I Said CAN WE?!!
NO? That’s good to hear.
It appears that MacDonald has recovered from his dodgy back and should start tomorrow, as for the rest of the team only KJ and JG know who’s in and who’s not.
I am guessing Ikeme in goal, MacDonald in midfield and Afobe/Dicko up front, Ojo on the left, Henry on the right, Dangerous Dave to wander about the whole pitch with a licence to thrill.
A much needed win (2-0) to keep us happy until the next league match.
Onwards & Upwards
🙂
Hoping for a good reaction after Cardiff, and I’m backing KJ to deliver it!
Hate to say it but I see another defeat !
I should like to see Dicko and Price in but who knows. Defence remains an issue.
Gee a few weeks is a long time in football. Optimism replaced with cynicism in one and a half matches.
A good win here and a clean sheet and everything will be rosy again (as long as we keep Afobe).
1st clean sheet of the season and 3 points thank you very much.
We love to expect, and when expectation is either disappointed or gratified, we want to be again expecting
Samuel Johnson (played for Newton Heath whatever happened to them?)
Beaten by Tamworth 2-0 smithers getting both in the dying minutes, recarded in Johnson’s journal.
They never got over the embarrassment.
🙂
This is more from blind faith rather than the evidence of the season so far but I’m hoping that KJ can get our nightmare defending sorted out.
That said we still need an experienced defender to organise the back four.We have some promising, but inexperienced, defenders who would all benefit from strong leader……..has Ally Robertson still got his boots?
It would be nice to play badly, and win.Win lose or draw the best result is,the international break. We will need that time to reorganise the squad.Worrying that Kenny says Ben10 will be a Wolves player Tuesday morning, not Wednesday.
I honestly think this one has draw written all over it! We’ll look to sure up at the back after a few weak defensive performances, but I can also see us scoring. Hope I’m wrong and the boys pull it off though. COYW!
One thing I know about Charlton’s manager this season, that Guy is not used to Luzon.. I’ll make my prediction and leave.
Not easy to predict on this one because I think we could win handsome, lose big Time or bore draw.
So I’m going to have a sniff of Mark’s wacky backy and go for a close home win.
I’ve no idea who’ll get the Jackett nod but could well see Jack Price and Henry installed in key roles. (Henry as No10). .. I would also like to see the Afobe/Dicko pairing re-established to give the Charlton defence something to think about at the very least.
Please let’s not repeat the Cardiff performance otherwise I’ll be giving greasel and blob plenty of stick …
The Cardiff performance rates among the poorest by a Wolves team in recent history. The Barnet showing was much better but there’s the conundrum. How much better was it ? I watched the Bees play Telford at the Bucks Head not much more than 18 months ago so even a Wolves second team(which is basically what we saw on Tuesday)should be wiping the bloody floor with newcomers to the Football League.Instead of being out of sight by half-time,we endured a nervous final 10-15 minutes. So,until I see a drastic improvement in the first team,I’m predicting a defeat.
Oh and by the way, F O Norwich
I see nothing to show that things are turning around. Afobe likely to be unsettled by transfer talk and the back is still a mess. A walloping may persuade Morgan to bring in a central defender by tuesday. UTW
Afobe & Dicko to start, Ikeme in goal, tighten up the defence & get the win.
UTW
I think changes need to be made for this one.
Ikeme
Doherty,Iorfa,Stearman,Golbourn
Edwards ,Price,Coach,Ojo
Ofobe Dicko.
Its a must win game,not a draw a win.
Still would like to see a experienced defender and striker in before window closes.but wouldn’t. hold my breath.
Same prediction for the 3rd game running.
Think we’ll win this one so Morgan will think everything is rosy and he’ll keep his money in his pocket.
Take a draw at this stage….
Chorlton and the Wheelies was obviously spelt incorrectly as there should have been an ‘a’ after the h. Owing to this bizarre occurence and the fact that Eddie Charlton played snooker I feel that having researched whether any giraffes are called Charlton and finding there actually aren’t any it will be 3-1 to mighty Wanderers. Back to the lager…..
JACK Charlton was clearly related to a giraffe!
Well he wore a cap. I’m not saying that a Giraffe shouldn’t wear a cap but linking Jack Charlton to a giraffe is rather silly. Bobby Charlton’s comb over may have indicated a link to the Peruvian ‘I am not really silly at all’ tribe of the 1870’s who were wiped out by a very large tropical hurricane ‘TREVOR’. to this day the inhabitants quiver with fear when someone says ‘TREVOR’ ….
Love it Cheeseburger lol!
I’d forgotten Big Jack’s kid brother’s comb over and then remembered an equally amazing one from the Bobby Charlton wannabe Ralph Coates – showing my age now!
UTW!
Yeah WWW. Ralph Coates had about 5 strands of hair sprouting from just above the ear on one side of his head. Delicately brushed across his bonce. Wet and windy weather badly affected the style.
Trying to remain optimistic despite recent results. Afobe unfazed by speculation and bangs in the winner. Let’s hope so anyway!
Could this possibly be the first step on the road to recovery – onwards and, more importantly, upwards!
Stepping up a gear, to get a great result.
Charlton’s bubble to burst, our bubble to float into their net.
A clean sheet is long overdue, so here’s hoping. I do hope the issues between KJ and Dicko get sorted asap as we need the latter to be firing on all cylinders.
Charlton are full of confidence and will be too good for us tomorrow. I expect KJ to tinker with the lineup so until we get a settled side and we decide who is best in each position we are going to struggle.
If RVP can get on the bus to Yorkshire asap then that is a step in the right direction.
I would start with Afobe and Dicko as we look dangerous when we play these two up front- and get Afobe to play further forward where he can hurt the opposition.
No confidence that we know our best side yet so I am not expecting much at the moment.
tough one this, particularly after the Cardiff performance. I hope KJ has done enough this week with the lads psychologically to banish any after effects. I ain’t seen as many games as I’d liked to over the years but like others I cannot remember a time we looked so clueless, toothless and well, shit really (pardon me, it’s rarely I bring west brom into my language)
It’s hard to know what kenny is thinking with the goalie situation. I mean, I thought it was an odd decision bringing Martinez into the first team gold but maybe he’d seen something in Ikeme over the latter stages of preseason that had gone under our radars. Surely one mistake doesn’t warrant being axed, certainly not a man of Ikeme’s good standing. Baffled.
Anyway, I don’t see Kenny changing thet dam much but the goalie position really is a 50/50. I just hope it’s the right decision, whatever KJ does.
I’m predicting a narrow win, Charlton will be confident but I think if we play even to 70% of our capability, we should have enough to take three point at home.
Pardon the typos, typing on flipping iPhone keyboards is ridiculous
With absolutely nothing better to do, I have to disagree with Thomas’s first sentence.
I reckon TC the Clipboard had a better win record, it was 100%.
He didn’t win any of his games in charge, and he went one better than KJ, he didn’t win any away either!
Surely that is a perfect record??
Must win game for me even this early. For the sake of our confidence and to change the momentum. I’d start golbourne and if leave hause with stearman. Positive from the start and finish our chances we will be fine.
Have gone for the reverse score of StuWolf! Enough said. OODCL!!!!
I must be right at least once this season…..
Love to hear KJ talk, he is no fool, ” in my opinion only “, if the Wolves fans back him, he will repay them 100 fold over the comming years, ” again in my opinion only”.
I hope our very young deffence start to gell and settle against Charlton, it’s very early yet though.
The team ? I think Jack Price might start, maybe Jed Wallace on the bench, as for the rest who knows ?
I see a lot of promise in this Wolves team and i think they’ll do well this season, the key is going to be in how long it takes for the team to klick.
*TURNS ON BLIND OPTIMISM GLASSES*
Okay, I can’t believe just HOW poor we were against Cardiff, but to their credit, they pressured well in midfield and didn’t give us time on the ball. That with the uncanny ability to be unable to control the ball or pick a teammate for a pass was the reason we couldn’t get any forward momentum. Dicho changed the game a little when he came on, but Afobe seemed MIA all day (not all his fault).
I think changes will need to be made, and I can see almost see KJ going 4-4-1-1 with Afobe behind ALF, although that could easily be ALF behind Dicho.
Henry and Ojo wide with DE and Coady in the midfield, especially in KMac isn’t fit.
A little too adventurous? Maybe, but we will see.
And apparently I can’t spell today. *sigh*
Ikeme – obvious
Dicko – I would put him in the teamsheet 1st, and my no. 1 concern is that he gets over Sako’s sad departure and remains at Wolves, I would be very worried if he leaves.
Doherty and Price in, EEL out, with Iorfa at CB, he is good there too.
D/F Doh, Iorfa, Stears, Golbourne
M/F ( playing 4-3-3) Eddo, Price, Coady
Henry, Dicko, Afobe.
Hoping the lads bounce back at home!
We can score plenty with our firepower. Unfortunately we can concede plenty with our defence and goal keeping at the moment. Hate to say it but predict another 3 points dropped????
We are all full of confidence then..I don’t think..lol
I don’t know who needs to play a blinder..Ikeme (which means our defence is still crap) Steers (which means we are perhaps at last clean sheeting) Macdonald (overdue a beckenbower type game) Dicko (who desperately needs to make his mark again) Afobe (who needs to show US that he wants to play for Wolves) ALF (the greatest attitude we’ve got..really desperate for a couple of goals) KJ (who might just might get the team and tactics right)
That’s across the board.. not much to improve on then….
And that’s where we are at this point in the league……..trying to get our act together..
A tight win but I think I’m letting my heart rule my head.
Play the guys in form, Kenny.
Christ I’ve just seen our position in the league..????
I’m glad to competition for places has heated up so much in the last week after an excellent performance by the 2nd string in the cup, it should provide more then enough incentive for those that start later today to play to the very best of their abilities.
I’m hoping we can finally start capitalising on these early chances we create as I fully expect our current back line to concede at least a few. I’m also hoping we just stay the course with Ikeme for league games, he’s done so well for us over the last few years, just needs to be shown a little confidence by his manager and he’ll be straight back to delivering MOTM performances.
Well, I have just read all the above comments and would like to add my feelings. I have been a man manger in a past life for my sins as they say and when you take on that roll it does not matter how many work / report directly to you but you have to become their, Mother Father Priest and Best Mate all rolled into one. There will be some who need their hand holding some will need an ego stroked some will need a little gee up and some will need bollocking from wall to wall. After you have done all that you just put your arm round them and say “Come on then we can will this or we might as well not turn up if we don’t think we can win” Winning mentality nothing is more successful.
If we do lose this one KJ Will experience the fans wrath, due to his early success he has not had to face that yet. I think that’s my longest post ever.
Still think this is the best young squad
we have had for years time for Kenny to knock them into shape.
One for Steve Showcase and me to salivate over.
Wolves are in talks with Liverpool to loan “Full Back” Jon Flanigan for a season, he’s been out injured for a while and Liverpool are keen for him to gain some playing time. Well if it’s true and even if he’s only got half a leg then he’d be straight into our defence. If memory serves he was quite leggy and looked useful, gaining quite a few plaudits so I hope this one develops.
If we can shore up the leak in the dyke the other areas will fall into place IMO.
Just so we’re clear and PC here, Iv’e got nothing against Dykes, but I would’nt like to put my finger in one.
Onwards and upwards.
🙂
Tight game, low scoring. Afobe wins it in the last ten…
A win against expectations
After last weeks performance we got to bounce back and I’m going for the win, won’t be easy but we’ll do it so COYW
Not confident but hoping for a win. Don’t think we can keep a clean sheet at the moment. UTW
Last minute decision to attend my first game this season in the hope of seeing some backbone return and a narrow win – hopefully not Stuwolf’s prediction or it will be a bad journey home!
Hopefully last week was as bad as it gets, just glad I decided not to go. Expect a few changes and better defending otherwise could be a long afternoon . Would like to see an experienced centre half in by deadline
I think Charlton will be too strong for us today, sadly.
Keeping the faith.
More out of hope that the decisions and half chances go our way.
We need Afobe and Dicko up front with L Fonde coming on around 60mins to have a decent run.
Defence Stearman and try Iofra as CB then have Golbourne and Doc. I hope that will give us our first clean sheet of the season.
Fingers crossed
COYW
Need this one to s tree day the ship a little. I’ve got Afobe and dangerous Dave as the goal scorers.
I’d take a steady win right now
If I was a neutral I’d have probably predicted 1-1.
Neutral I’m not. Afobe (peno) & Dicko.
I have a bad feeling about today. Come on wolves, prove me wrong again.
Anyone know why Stearman is not even in the squad.
Injured? or about to be sold.
At least Ikeme is in goal.
To answer my own question looks like he’s off to Fulham for £2m
At the start of the season i was so optimistic that we were going to be contenders this season, but an indifferent points return thus far has left me somewhat underwhelmed.
When KJ joined he said there is no point looking at the table until 10 games into the season, so maybe it’s not time to be too disheartened yet.
As often stated above, KJ needs to figure out his best team. Once he figures that out in sure we’ll start inching towards the happier end of the table.
As for the game? Well it’s anybody’s guess really isn’t it. Gone for the Desmond.
Dicko at the double
A squeaker. Hope things turn around today.
We’re crying out for an experienced defender……so we’re about to sell one instead…..
YEAH, but we can get a better one in, as Moxey knows what he is doing. Mind you, he may decide to buy a midfielder instead!
I give up.
3 points. Happy with that. Will be interested to read/hear how we played, but coming from behind and winning is good enough for me just now.
Last season’s player of the year.
The most experienced defender on the books.
Light at the back at present.
Oh, we got an offer.
How much?
Two million.
Wow. That’s nearly as much as my weekly bonus. Let’s sell him.
Shall we wait to see if we can get a better bid, or wait until we have a seasoned replacement, while we are still leaking goals?
Nah, the fans wont even notice he’s gone, let’s get some more pie money while we can.
Of course they will, coz they are not stupid.
What? Not stupid?
They’ve let us get away with murder for years, why would they change now?
Okay, let’s see if Fulham will take McDonald as a package deal as well. Two salaries off the books and we can get some more cheap academy kids in.
But what if we get relegated?
Who cares, we managed last time and we are still making gazzillions off the Redrow and other property parasites so we are rolling in it.
But what about the fans?
Fuck ’em.
Oh, I forgot to tell you, jezzy.
What’s that, Blob?
That bloke we let go in the summer because his wage demands were too high, Sicko, or something like that, who we thought would not cut the mustard anymore in the second division, let alone the Prem, has just scored, again, at the home of the Prem Champions of all places.
Oh. Let’s buy him.
Don’t be silly, jezzy, we don’t buy players.
Oh, yes, just pies and bigger bank vaults.
3 points but likely lose Dicko, Stearman and RVLP all in the same weekend. Top 6 just became a tougher task.
Well what a day,
Stearman to Fulham
RVLP to Leeds ???
Kevin Nolan was at the match in the Directors box.
From my mate at Molineux,
Wolves looking at defender Bennet from Villa
Defender from Southampton
Jon Flanigan and an attacker from Liverpool
Goldbourne broke club didipline code and Jackett suspended him for the Cardiff game.
Dicko told to play wide at Cardiff but refused, Jackett blew his stack at him and Afobe backed Dicko and got an ear bashing also
Pat Mountain goalkeeping coach was the one that said Matinez should play before Ikeme, Jackett not happy.
All is not well in the supposedly happy camp and that would explain the performances on the pitch. Dicko was just not interested today and I suspect a lot of fans were quite happy to see him leave the field.
It will be an interesting 4 days.
:-((
There is a god just heard Stearman going and for all those who have constantly slagged me of for slagging him off ask yourselfs why….I’ll tell you why because in pre season and this season he’s been shit…. And your going to say but why are Fulham pay ing & 2 Millon to that I’ll say, well why are Wolves willing to let him go..,
I’m looking forward to hearing the fan clubs response…. And Rvp too oh my god ! Forget the lottery it doesn’t get any better than this.
Come on Doogooder let’s hear it..!
READ THIS !!!!! At 6 o’clock on Friday night Stearman was in the team to face Charlton. At 8 o’clock on Friday night his name was removed and replaced by Ebanks-Landell and Stearman was told he was being sold. He protested as he did not want to leave but was told he had no choice as the Club had decided. His protests faded somewhat when he heard what Fulham were offering – a 3 year contract on £40k per week plus a signing on fee of £150k. Kenny Jackett was not, and is not, happy about this. There are no plans to replace him as instead we will rely on Ebanks-Landell, Hause, Batth and Iorfa. It is also likely that Van La Parra will be sold and not replaced. Morgan and Moxey are playing a dangerous game.
P.S. the above is from ‘inside the club’ and is factual.
If you’re right Bedford re yr comments above and these decisions are being taken against the wishes of Jackett then I can only say that ….
1) We are being totally run for financial reasons alone … Not football reasons.. And
2) Jackett is a total Yes man who doesn’t have the balls to stand up to Blob and Greasel … And publicly criticise this decision ….Which makes even more convinced that the stranglehold that those two unambitious, money grabbing faceless prats have in the control of WWFC is becoming more concerning by the second.
If ever Afobe goes I shall be expecting a refund on my season ticket.
I expect all revenue from the sale of Stearman and VLP to be re-invested in the playing side…. Anything less merely proves the Greed and lack of football interest these two have.
I alluded to Stearman going on my earlier post at 1142 on the 28th. Everyone still talking about it lol.
Paul in Soretto (or maybe Sorrento??) won’t reflect the majority view – quite apart from the differences of opinion about his performances, the act if selling him says a hell of a lot about the club, as the other comments here note. It will be fascinating to see if any of the names listed by Stu materialise – I did wonder about Nolan when I heard he’d left the Hammers, but another midfielder?? Talking of which, thank heavens Henry is still here, on today’s performance.
Peakwolf,
Said on Tuesday night that the game was pretty mundane until hal ftime when Henry came on. From the kick off today he was the difference, a couple of howlers on free kicks but that was Sako’s department anyway, but apart from those he was epic today.
I am publicily going to put my hands up today and admit, EBL played well today he’s a Wolves player and I support him but reserve the right to say it as I see it. Today he changed my mind on him, long may he continue in that vane,
Met up with bloggers Bedford Wolf last night and Jerryd today after the game, what a great bunch of Bloggers you guys are.
On that subject.
May I take this opportunity to thank the Wolvesblog bloggers for their truly amazing donations on behalf of the Wolves DSA, I handed in the last of my money to them today and my total is a fantastic £1215-00.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of the DSA, outstanding you guys.
Thank You
StuWolf
Well done on the fund raising mate and for all the suffering you did to earn it for such a good cause.
UTW!
Stu – if you get a chance could you email the photo you took on Friday night at Bravachio’s? Thanks. Might see you at Preston?
Rumour mill up north is that Harry maguire is on his way to wolves.
He was left out of hull squad today as he is on his way out of club.
Still losing stears is a big risk but if it’s maguire coming in he’s an extremely experienced 22 year old. Was gutted when we didn’t get him last season.
Congrats, Stu – great stuff.
MOTD – Sako – scored one, assisted one, saved one on the line (now that’s unfamiliar!).
Someone is making the decisions. And since we lost faith in managers they havent all been bad. But if Wolves are going to get out of this division they will eventually have to hand the reigns back to a stong character.
Joke selling stearman, what is going on. Love him or hate him. There’s a reason we got 2 million. Idiotic.
It would be fair to say that Wolves has taken some sort of strange path since the pre season
and with Bedford and Stu’s contacts we seem to have some sort of lowdown on the stuff going on.
It does look like we have no direction or stability as it seems virtually all players and their position
are constantly rotated with some even sold..
The obvious fact is that the team is being run away from KJ sometimes with the Ms acting as covert managers
which is belling reflected in our stratagy and play..I never really believed it until now…
Steers brought stability but IMO really wasn’t up to the challenge particularly in set plays and I reckon that KJ
Was told to play with what you’ve got until Batth arrives as it seems opinion is that he will have the ability to hold the fort. I doubt it.
EBL could be a fair player perhaps if only we could train him to head it consistently to one of ours..
KJ must be frustrated and with Dicko out for a time and is going to have to rely on ALF and Afobe to two prong with..
Nolan or a wise head to settle and lead us would be a great idea memories of Hughes Ince Rae etc we need some leadership
Big tIme..
The commentary was pretty worrying to listen to and with all the politics going on.. it seems results will be dependant on
morale and KJs ability to put his mark on how HE wants us to go from here based on a very indifferent start to the season…
The team / squad must be very unsettled …
If Harry Maguire comes he would be a marvellous partner to DB ..To good to be true..
Here’s hoping..and if the Ms are involved ..fair play, half is forgiven.. but only half..
To Stu I will be making a donation to Compton Hospice as I’ve lost the link or if you could send me/ post your email.
Paul Featherstone.
If the to M, s are forcing Jackett to sell then may be the only way he can stop them is threaten to resign.
Paul on Holiday.

Afobe at the double!
