I think it’s silly to even suggest Kenny Jackett’s position is under threat.

It’s not been great this year but given what he inherited and his accomplishments in the two seasons that followed, is he not still in credit?
I’ve not been a fan of the chopping and changing to the team and some of his tactical choices of late, but I still believe he’s the man for the job.
When the results aren’t there fans always demand change, but dropping the axe on the manager could be disastrous.
We’re not where we want to be and I don’t think good times are just around the corner either, but the major problems exist higher up the food chain.
Burnley
I know it’s not all about money, but Burnley were relegated last season and their major loss was Danny Ings. What did they do?
They went out and spent big on Andre Grey to replace him. He’s now the league’s top scorer and they’re occupying an automatic promotion place.
They’ve kept faith with their manager, retained the nucleus of their squad and ensured major losses were replaced with good quality.
That, if you ask me, is the blueprint for success.
Much of their nucleus is made up of ex-Wolves players including Michael Kightly, David Jones, Sam Vokes and Stephen Ward, who all know a thing or two about getting out of this league.
Wolves
I can’t defend Kenny Jackett for Tuesday. Hooking Benik Afobe when you’re a goal down is an obvious no-no and his tactics from that point on just weren’t right.

I still think the team that started on Tuesday is our best bet, possibly with Price playing instead of Coady.
It would also be nice to see Jordan Graham at some point, who was a major success down in Oxford and is surely worth a go, given the inconsistency of Ojo, Byrne, van La Parra, etc.
A front two of Le Fondre and Holt seems like a giant step back when you consider the front three we routinely fielded last term.
The gaffer
Predictions
Not feeling confident for this one. That said, we raised our game against Middlesbrough and could have won that game.
I reckon it might follow a similar pattern actually – a close game where Burnley’s extra quality/confidence wins the day.
Prove me wrong lads.
2-1 Burnley.
Up The Wolves!

Steve Showcase questioned Kenny Jacket’s leadership on a post in the previous thread, and I tend to agree. My respone to his post is replicated here, for what it is worth:
“I agree mate. Your know my background, and leadership and management are two separate areas that I have been involved in for a long time now. There are a number of definitions of both, but the one that I consider to be most appropriate and in my view the correct one is:
Leadership involves:
1. Establishing a clear vision,
2. Sharing that vision with others so that they will follow willingly,
3.Providing the information, knowledge and methods to realise that vision, and
4. Coordinating and balancing the conflicting interests of all members and stakeholders.
A leader steps up in times of crisis, and is able to think and act creatively in difficult situations. Unlike management, leadership cannot be taught, although it may be learned and enhanced through coaching or mentoring.
In essence it is the act of inspiring subordinants to perform and engage in achieving a goal (no pun intended but quite apt in this instance).
I am very interested in our next few games and I believe that our true position will be confirmed after Christmas. If Kenny were to leave, that should only happen at the end of the season in my opinion.”
Having said that, if we play like we know we can and go out there with a desire, commitment and belief then I can not see us falling short, but even if we did, I feel Burnley will be too strong for us, therefore I predict:
Thanks BW for bringing some thoughts on theory and strategy that are so often the domain of opinion ..
I just posted on the E&S some thoughts on the same subject, related to the topic of the number of ex-Wolves players in the Burnley squad .. replicated here:
“There is the long running question about what Wolves plan to do about investing in the current squad .. But what about the players that have gone through Wolves at one stage or another, who have gone on to prove themselves elsewhere.
It would a) be an interesting list; b) beg the question regarding how good are Wolves at retaining talent .. ??
Is it a question of (poor) judgement .. Did these players simply bloom later .. Is there something wrong with the Wolves development or management system, or indeed its people?
In business, essential qualities of leadership (and hallmarks of “winners”) are the ability to attract, develop, motivate and retain talent ..
Applied to Wolves .. ??
(Somewhat rhetorical) .. “
It doesn’t really get much tougher but at least we’re at home. Let’s hope the collective of fans at the Mol can gee up rather than jeer our team.
I agree with you about the subs against the Bristols Thomas. We played well in the first half and were a tad unlucky to be 1-0 down at half time. As I stated that night at half time on the Bristol City game post, taking off Afobe and Byrne was a tactical disaster waiting to happen. Cue our second half being one of our poorest halves of football for shots on target for ages!
I’m not sure what went wrong really, there’s no way they should have beaten us.
I also cannot defend Kenny for making that awful choice. What was he thinking ?
Anyway, we’re due a good performance after that but Burnley will be tough – let’s hope we can catch them on an off day.
Up the Wolves!
1 1 if Price comes in for coady but I doubt he will
Hi Thomas,
Unfortunately, I share your views, save for the hooking of Afobe – I know he’s not getting much service, but he is a shadow of last year’s hero without Dicko alongside. His first touch has deserted him and he seems to be having a bit of a couldn’t care less attitude to his game of late.
After Tuesday night’s horror show, there can only be one winner for me.
Sincerely hope I’m wrong.
Btw any idea when the Prediction League will get updated? I know I’m nearer the bottom than the top, but it would be nice to see just how bad my predictions are! Thanks, mate, as I know how busy you and Ben are and you do an amazing job keeping this great blog going.
COMBs!
Jekyll & Hyde Wanderers will beat Burnley tomorrow.
We beat Birmingham ‘cos we’re much better than them and they were in a falsely high position. Why we couldn’t beat Bristol Shitty is beyond me so that’s why I’ve renamed us.
Common let’s clean sheet DB and Co….then as they are going to come at us like a train and make this an open game we can nobble them on the break..
That’s a plan…though I doubt KJ has got one (perhaps a bit harsh it won’t seem like it anyway)..
Afobe needs a goal and I agree he needs Dicko alongside him.. Byrne I reckon is worth one but who knows?
We are capable..capable of winning 3-0 or loosing 3-0..
Insipid comments I know..but the last result proper pissed me off as it was so unnecessary…KJ..
For Christ sake let’s have a result..
and roll on Ipshit away.. I can moan all match to Stu..
I’ve never felt that Kenny is the right guy for the job.
However, now I do feel that he was the right guy to get us out of Division 1- but for me it stopped there. I don’t think he is the right guy to get us into the Prem and his management performances of late have indicated that to be the case. I think Sako covered up a lot of our failings in previous seasons. Having said that, KJs hands have been tied with a lack of investment. IMHO and for a variety of reasons I think it would be wrong to sack him now when we are looking for a buyer.
Tomorrow . . . . . our Ex’s always like to put one over on us to show that they are still in charge. Bath and Williamson will have their hands full coping with Vokes and Grey. I just hope Ward doesn’t get on and score the winner. Right now I couldn’t forecast that I’s get my leg over in a whorehouse so I’ll go 3 -1 to Burnley in the hope that my abysmal run continues.
Sako was a just like Benteke down the road, his goals kept Villa up for 2 out of 3 seasons. Look where they are now, incidentally another club up for sale.
Wolves have been predictably unpredictable! The only thing I can do is pick an unpredictable score. I think a 0-0 will not disappoint anyone. A boring draw for me (though I wish we could fire up and have a good win).
Frankly, who knows what could happen. I’ve got to fancy Burnley though on the basis of our showing midweek. Surely at least one ex-Wanderer will score. Sometimes it feels like even Mike Stowell would score against us if he came out of retirement and stood between the sticks for the opposition.
Not Stephen Ward after coming up for a corner surely? Our Clive would have a fit.
A score line to reflect blind faith over reality.
I will be there more in hope than in expectation………
Time will tell.
And anyone talking of sacking Jackett at the current time – a typical knee-jerk reaction – is pure stupidity. At the time of Mick’s sacking I stated be careful of what you wish for and boy was I proved right. If the rest of the season is dire then there may come a time, but until then Kenny has done an excellent job thus far and deserves all of our support.
I think we’re in for a total hammering, I’m afraid.
That said, I agree entirely that sacking Jackett isn’t any sort of option. I read some absolutely ridiculous comments re Kevin Gallen’s statement this week such as “I’ll pay for his taxi to QPR”. I respect people’s opinions but what no one has offered an opinion on is a better manager to take over. Sherwood? McLeish? Di Canio? I’ll stick with Jackett, thanks.
Jack Price is an absolute must for every game. In the last match write up it was said he might not be everyone’s Messiah, but I think he’s mine. His Opta Stats, the strength of the defence and the performance of Kevin McDonald when Price plays confirm that he should be playing in every game. I don’t have any major problems with Coady, but there’s just something different about us when Jack Price plays.
People say they are looking for leadership from Kenny Jackett. Unfortunately, he is only Head Coach and doesn’t have total control over all day-to-day aspects like Mick McCarthy did. Morgan has pulled the rug from under Jackett mid-season just as the going started to get tough for the first time in his reign. It is not easy to show leadership when you don’t know the direction in which the club is heading. So when people complain about the club being rudderless and listing (or any other nautical metaphors you may wish to offer) it may be worth remembering that the Captain has just abandoned ship.
Could not agree more with pretty much every aspect of what you have written. Burnley are yet another addition to a growing list of clubs who have ” gone past” wolves during the wasted years of Morgan and moxey.
Tettenhall, We will never get a top manager with Mork and Mindy in charge. I will state this now if ever Tim Sherwood is bandied about for that position I will publicly burn my effin shirt. In terms of management skills he is Glenn effin Hoddles love child.
Trying to stay positive i have had a disatrous few weeks. The strange formula of in ‘KJ we trust’ and predicting yet another defeat has been working a treat for others so lets go with that.
I’ve just heard the interview with KJ above..are the Qs scripted? Why didn’t he say re Afobe.. ‘why did you pull the f…..kr off..’ he doesn’t answer the questions… talk about tame interviewing ..should of asked ‘have you lost your mind KJ ‘
or ‘that Wolves blog lot are getting restless..’ lol…
Team A,
Glass half full.
I see a really tight game with last ditch defending, backs to the wall, under the cosh, treading water but keeping Wolves reserves at bay finishing with a spectacular James Henry drive from outside the box.
Team B,
Glass i/4 full.
I see us getting pistol whipped, thumped around the pitch, out played, out manouvered, out classed and FUBAR’d, a 4-0 drubbing with Doherty, RVLP, and Holt all starting.
But,
I’m a plan A sort of a guy.
As you lot are always saying on this blog, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
Well Kenny, it’s feckin broke alright, so show us doubting Stuart’s out here you can fix it.
Onwards and sidewards.
I suspect I’ll find myself in (appropriately familiar) mid table mediocrity when prediction league is finally updated, with a mixture of depressingly accurate defeats and weirdly wrong wins and losses
Our History against wanderers old boys has never been good and burnley are clipping along at an average 2points a game so this suggests we will be shoved around and left with nothing after 90 minutes
Then again this team can and does produce confounding results.. But let’s get used to mid table because we are really no better than that this season
Talk of KJ out is however ludicrous …navigating our way back to a sustainable premier league status is a multi year project without a sugar daddy and even perhaps with one. Let’s see some better football from younger players .. At least now and then..now that would be a small step in the right direction
Meantime patience forebearance and prayers seem to be the best formula for we long suffering fans
For the first time in my life, I am really rooting for Stephen Ward to “play” a full 90 minutes at The Molineux!
If he’s on the pitch, we’ll piss all over them, top two position or not.
The only thing hindering us will be the inability to stop laughing at his pathetic attempts to be a footballer.
As indicated in a previous post, optimism rears its head the closer a game approaches.
My life is full of no regrets.
As Ben alluded to, you cannot change what past, so get over it.
Yes we like to bitch and moan, but we never give up on our beloved club, which is bigger and more encompassing than any of us.
That said, Burnley are already quaking in their boots at the thought of a trip to The Mol.
Don’t forget, they suffered relegation more recently than us, and that must still be there, buried in their subconscious, gnawing away incessantly.
No, easy three points tomorrow, and a significant boost to our goals plus column.
And a big, big FO wb to all of y’all!!
The only result I can see on Saturday is a loss.
Just like the only result that was possible against Bristol was a win.
I am worried that if van La Parra is fit he’ll be parachuted straight back in to run up and down a bit and fall over, all to no effect.
I am also worried that Afobe will run up and down a bit and never get any decent service, all to no effect.
I am also worried that Brompton’s … “desire, commitment and belief”… is in perilously short supply at the moment.
But you’ve got to be upbeat haven’t you.
The PMDG’er and I celebrated sixteen years of married bliss yesterday and, although there have been times that I felt my position was under threat, she stuck by me and now we are enjoying the fruits of our labours.
I don’t know what the equivalent of Premier League football is in the matrimonial stakes, but I think we’re pretty much there now.
So, let’s all be patient, give Kuddly Ken a chance and hope that in years to come we’ll all look back on this minor blip as just a …… well… minor blip.
Oooh! I’ve just talked myself into predicting a win again.
Doog
Congratulations to you and Mrs Doog, marriage is like being a football coach, you have to continuously work at it to make it a success.
What’s the most dangerous animal in the world?
A silent smiling woman.
Keep up the good work. Digging a Pond helps. 🙂
Cheers Stu
Yes, luckily they are also the rarest ‘silent and smiling women’ that is, not ponds.
Talking of predatory cats it reminds me of the time I was on Safari with a WBA supporter.
I spotted a lioness stalking us and started to put my running shoes on.
The Shite looked at me quizzically (perhaps I should have put it away) and said:-
“What’s the point of putting those on, you’re never going to outrun a lion”.
I replied:-
“I don’t need to outrun the lion, I only need to outrun YOU.
So long sucker!”
Congrats to you both. I hope you have many more together. (Years, not ponds)
Thanks mate.
Much appreciated.
Best wishes for sharing that with you’re fellow bloggers Doog (and Lioness).
Have to say you both look well for it and that you’re joint love for ALL THAT IS WOLVES AND CUDDLY remains undiminished….. (Notice I omitted anything to do with Pond Digging mate …. oops)
Stay cool and chilled together…
Thanks Twixfix
We are about to indulge in something cool and chilled right now.
It doesn’t involve a pond, but it is wet and sparkly.
A soggy bonfire night ?
No cleen sheets tonight then Doog………
Not with Forest & Derby playing anyway!
On another IMPORTANT NOTE ….I have got TWO TICKETS in the BILLY WRIGHT UPPER CENTRAL(ish) for each of the matches against …. LEEDS, READING, FULHAM AND BOLTON (Home matches in the period stated).
The seats are in a prime location … (next to Ben and Scooped) but don’t be put off !!!
Anyone interested give me a call on 07794 293257 ….
Congratulations!
Mine put up with me for 29 years (27 married) then left me for an older man with more money…….perhaps me buying that Wolves apron and oven gloves for her was a mistake?
🙂
Thanks for that mate.
Did she take the apron and gloves with her?
🙂
Good point! I have not found them yet !
Sevlow.
A Scotsman like myself would find that the investment in an Apron and Oven gloves turned into very sound business.
Where did you buy them, is it local.?
I bought them from the Wolves website but I don’t expect they are still around as it was a few years ago ! However a frying pan is always a welcome Xmas gift for the wife………….yes I did…………
🙂
Congratulations to you both. I was going to do the old joke about having been happily married for 20 years, married for 36 but only 20 happily, but Mrs Bedford Wolf is nearby so I’d better not!
P.S. the day we got married Andy Gray signed for us on the pitch at half-time that shows you how long ago it was and how ancient I am!
Thanks BW. That was a day to remember. I bet you never forget your anniversary.
Clever move.
Stephen Ward to score the opener and Wolves to win 3-1. This is Wolves after all!
I am sure we will probably get well and truly smacked but I still will not predict a loss.
Hope KJ fially gives young Jordan Graham a chance (if not why recall him) and also realises the Price is beter than Coady
Reflecting on Thomas’s comments on KJ….i am not one calling for his head but i am not really a believer either. Its
not just about recent results its also about what a manager has achieved and what you believe he is capable of achieving. Kenny in personna is almost a perfect parody of the lower league manager but if he can keep us in the Championship until we get a buyer that might well have to suffice
It is easier to pick the winning lottery numbers than predict the score for tomorrow.
Price has to start ahead of Coady and I would get Jordan Graham involved at some point. The best I can muster is sitting on the fence.
A loss almost seems inevitable but I cannot get myself upto Molineux from Sussex tomorrow with a half full glass. The sun will come out just in time for kick off and we will put on a ‘Bright’ performance. Might even pay the £10 for upgrade to 1st class travel back to Euston if we bag the points.
Christ! I have no idea. My brain runs around its allotted container like my dalmatian rummaging around on a heap of cow manure. Where do I go first for greatest satisfaction? Hoping beyond hope that our totally and historically unpredictable team have a good day.
I got it so wrong Tuesday night so I will sit on the fence caus we are at the mol. Up the wolves
Clutching at straws, I note that until Hause went off injured Middlesboro’ had struggled to create any good chances, that Brum were likewise impotent and that even tho’ we lost on Tuesday, they only created a couple of real chances. Even Brighton struggled to create chances against us. So all is not lost. But this is Burnley and they are going well, so I’d settle for a point.
PITY WE CAN’T BRING BACK STAN CULLIS AND PETER BROADBENT…
Well it really does seem ludicrous to forecast a wolves win given the current status quo of both teams, so I`ll go for a draw. No idea why but can`t bring myself to forecast another defeat, we`ve had enough of these already.
I can`t get to the match tomorrow, probably a good thing, as I`d hate to see Steven Ward on the winning side. Maybe he, Jones and Kightly will all score own goals to help our cause. Not looking forward to hearing the half times – let alone the full times either, then again while we could do with the three points, I`ll settle for the draw though.
After Tuesday’s debacle and return to form (irony!) .. I can only see the light at the end of tunnel, that is yet another oncoming train ..
To entertain myself in these dire times I just posted the following on the E&S ..
“There have been a lot of complaints about 1) Failure to replace Sako; 2) Afobe’s lack of form (in my opinion, due in part to the lack of quality service from midfield and a strike partner) .. So here is a crazy idea .. That might just work .. But at the very least would entertain the fans massively …
What about moving Iorfa forward .. to play the Sako role of attacking winger .. Who sometimes takes on a defender and crosses, or sometimes cuts inside.
We know he is attack minded, and we have seen his talents .. So why not?!
His blistering pace would cause havoc as opponents struggle to cover him .. And thereby create holes for Afobe to exploit.
It would also give Wolves some additional midfield attacking firepower and width, which they are lacking.
Put Doherty in at right back and let Iorfa light up the Mol!!
I can see him now!!”
The form book shows weary gonna lose, but if wolves give them selves a kick up the proverbial then we may get a draw at least but really hoping foe 3 points.
KJ must rediscover his confidence also in decision making and not make rash decisions like he’s done of late.
The buck stops with him I’m afraid. UTW..
Just like the players the manager should be aware that if he doesn’t perform he’ll be out the door too, although I’m not calling for Jacketts head, just yet. I’m calling for some continuity in selections, formations and tactics.
I all so concerned at Jackett lack of alarm at the postion we are in he seems to think even on Tuesday against Bristol City there was enough to see in each half for the fans to cheer, who the Bristol fans Kenny because there was little to cheer for the traveling 1800 or so.
See this is my biggest worry that Kenny thinks things aren’t that bad. He does seem to crasp that lose Saturday and we are in a relegation battle.
I’m just being a realist and its about time Jackett wakes up and smells the coffee………oh and for fuck sake PLAY Price…?
Hate predicting defeats and although we played well v Middlesboro at Home that defeat was always likely …. so sorry folks and having heard that Van Le Parra could start …. it’s another loss I’m afraid… (On the brighter side my predictions have been dire of late so don’t lose heart ! )
If RVP starts its R.I.P Wolves….!
Local Wolverhampton boy and former Wolves academy player Andre Grey to score all 17 goals though only 11 of them will be down to Martinez. Fortunately though there is an up side as the penny finally drops for the Scouse Mouse and Poxy Moxey and in a euphoric Eureka moment of incredible realisation at what they have done to the Club a January transfer war chest of £100m is promised as well as tying down Afobe to a new 5 year contract on triple his current wages. In addition the Club announces it will be sold to a consortium consisting of all Season Ticket Holders for a nominal £10. On the back of this Steve Bull, Robert Plant and Rachel Heyhoe-Flint organise financial backing on a par with Manchester City only without us having to rename the ground The Wolves Al-Arabi Oil Corporation Arena or change our colours or our name or have a statue of Cliff Richard outside. The Club soars to automatic promotion winning all its remaining games as well as winning the FA Cup for the first time in 56 years.
I’m a lumberjack and I’m ok.
Cliff Richard statue eh.
Mmmmm now there’s a thought. That would be worth a bike ride, maybe we can get Sue Barker mounted as well. 🙂
Just a rumour:-)
She was teaching him his grip and showed him the benefits of firm balls, allegedly it ended up in Deuce.
Cliff Richard, Bedford you little Minx you.
🙂
The statue would be available to be rented out along with the stadium. In fact it would be ‘Hired For Ground’. (See what I did there?)
He is releasing a new single called “bummer holiday” so I am tokd.
I wish I’d thought of that one – but don’t worry I will!
I work all night and I play all day……….
I cut down trees,
I skip and jump,
I go to the Moli-neux,
I have no fu*king clue what the score will be…………………
Benik to get all 4 to stop me thinking he is not interested in Wolves any more and will leave in January…………..
The good thing about our comparative form is that the odds will be much longer tomorrow. I’ll stick to my usual score, but fear that we’re in for the worst trouncing so far this season.
I wish Kenny Jackett would stop saying they can ‘put it right’ in the next game. A loss is a loss, the three points are lost; we can’t get them back.
Hope we sneak the draw !!
Players need to motivate themselves right now … not sure they have it in them.
Just can’t see a win here.
Hope they prove me wrong.
We can all dream!
breaks my heart to predict that score but you only as good as your last match.
Jacketts biggest failing is that he doesn’t show enough respect for the opposition in terms of how to out play them tactically, nullify their tactics. His emphasis is always on how we perform, believing the squad is that good they can beat anyone. When we get beat that word naive comes out,he should look and start with himself, and his coaching staff.A good manager for me is a person who is not only astute tactically, can take an average footballer, and turn him into a better player. Can anyone name a player who has improved over the last 2years?As for this game it’s got draw written all over it.
Sadly its the first loss I’ve predicted this season, I just can’t see past the curse of the former players and the Wolves school boy we missed out on.
Different day, different attitude, C’mon Wolves pull yourselves together and smash ’em!
We’re so inconsistent it’s toss the coin time. Am feeling good today so 2-0 to the Wolves
If we concede first we’ll lose. Can’t see a win any time soon, we were lucky to beat brum, they were shite, burnley are organised and playing well.
When I bogged earlier I forgot to predict the result so here it is.
This is based on all the ex Wolves players scoring.
2 Ward ogs – play Jack Price
Nice to see so many of you being positive about this game, Christ knows where you get it from. All I see is a 1st half drubbing followed by some stupid substitutions and a bloody awful result.
The blood pressure of a Giraffe is usually 280/180 which is a lot higher than a human being. Giraffes are rarely seen in the Junction chip shop, Gornal which is just as well really because they wouldn’t fit through the door. Of course, they could be fed a scallop from an upstairs window and this would bring about a satisfactory outcome. The Giraffe would be happy. The chip shop would be happy. Everbody will be fuckin happy. Including Gary Gonzalez. I will be happy tomorrow when Benik slots home in the 90th minute. As luck would have it.KJ will have signed the Giraffe mentioned earlier as goal keeping cover. This Giraffe will come on as sub and save a 94th minute penalty from Michael Kitely and instantly become a hero. He will later be seen snogging a Wolvo bird outside The Goose having consumed 14 pints of lager in celebration. Bit of a bugger when he goes back to Stockport County after the loan finishes. WWFC 1 Burnley 0.
it’s going too be tough match but I hope we sneak a win COYW
Normal blood pressure in a human is 120/80 which stops our brains exploding under extreme pressure, on Tuesday my Brain almost exploded due to the extreme pressure heaped on me by KJ and his cretins. Now the investment in the said Giraffe will turn out to be a master stroke ( see what I did there) B/P 280/180 Stoke, well the length of the giraffes neck prevents the pressure exploding the brain, due to the fact all that blood has to be pumped uphill which results in lower pressure at point of contact, which is similar to the scenario of a Wolves fan, pushing shit uphill in a barrow with no point or contact.
But for the giraffe the benefit of the long neck and high blood pressure will be that whilst all around him in the team are losing their head, his is so far away that he will keep his and pull off that fantastic save from Kite lee.
The part about the scallops is make believe and far fetched because it’s well known that scallops are an Afro dizzy act and pretty much useless on a giraffe as clearly he can see the luverly Wolvo bird and the brain without high pressure reads the messages and sends the signals to his loins, but eating the scallops the desired effect takes place but the signal from the stomach takes so long to reach the brain being so far away, that the giraffe loses interest and gets pissed.
Scientists did suggest Viagra, but the giraffes would swallow one and it would kick long before it reached the stomach and all he was left with was a very stiff neck, which after such a great save and welcome result, rendered him out for two weeks which resulted in Pat Mountain sending him back to Stockport County for a little hand relief on his extremely long appendage, ( his neck) leaving us with Martinez and no feckin hope.
Long winded and hard to believe I know. But so are giraffes and Kenny’s half time substitutions.
Onwards & upwards for giraffes
🙂
I have no idea what any of that means – but loved it just the same!
My fellow Bedford Wolves lumberjacks and I will be setting sail – you should see the rain here! – shortly for Molineux. Come on lads, effing well win PLEASE!
That was Cheeseburger’s and my job application for Wolves head Coach, a 200 word essay on the main component of being a Wolves coach.
Headed……
“Talking ansolute Shite”
Even though I love you lot …. Anyone one that thinks Jenny jacket should go is a fucking head case and deserves to be a wolves fan …blessed with the curse
We will probably win this cos were not supposed to UTW
If there was a dentist performing a root canal on me at Ashton gate on Tuesday it would have still been less painful than that second half
I am going for the consistently inconsistent, predictably unpredictable wolves this weekend
Will the real Wolverhampton Wanderers stand up.
Agree totally with Thomas’s comments. Jackett still in credit but agree that he’s made some strange decisions recently.
Price to start and please no more RVP.
Seem to do better when I predict a loss so hope that continues.
It looks well, we’re shitting our selves when a little town in Lancashire comes to the mighty wolves.
How bad have we become, things can only get better.
Onward and upwards.UTW
All wolves fans wear your poppies with pride.
Well said Sir! I certainly will. James McLean up yours you hypocritical little Arse!
Yeah, the hypocrite he accepts the British pound yet won’t wear the poppy.prick.
KEEP CALM AND DRINK BEER….
If the team can keep the back door shut they’ll have a chance. Dangerouse Dave can score a goal in any game on his day.
What ever happened to that old addage ” if you can’t win, then make sure you don’t lose ” ?
All those defeats, if they’d been draws Wolves would have 25 pts and be in 7th spot right now.
Ifs a big word if my sister had a pair of bollocks she’d be me brother…..!
I seem to be so far out in my predictions it’s ridiculous but I’ll keep trying. Can’t see a win here lots of old boys coming to show us what could of been.
triumph of hope over experience.
I just hope the home crowd spurs us on and we find that creative spark going forwards that has was missing against Bristol City….
#UTW
I’m sticking with my normal result, for no particular reason. Reason, along with common sense, was last seen sprinting down Newhampton Road.
It is obvious they have no place currently at the Mol. The fact they were sprinting shows how bad it is. Does Tony Daley inspire that level of fitness in anyone?
Excellent comments though guys about smiling wives and ponds, leader or a manager. The Harry Webb statue was inspired! And as for the blood pressure of a fritter eating giraffe who ends up with a stiffy, don’t be so daft……..if you’d have said Majors in Bilston, I’d have accepted it.
I maybe around to read the post match comments, if I’m still here. Mrs Telford Wolf is phoning the asylums up, trying to arrange for my collection. She is concerned at the amount of times I have laughed out loud, while almost spitting my cornflakes over the keyboard. Excellent excellent comments guys, it truly is a fantastic place to be, with a great set of friends like you lot ????????????????
Oh, and ignore the question marks, they were supposedly be smiley faces!
After Bristol it’s anyone’s guess which Wolves team to turn up. You have to give our star striker some support up top. I would go for Holt.
It’s all been said before about Price’s inclusion – or rather, not. The calmness he provides in the middle is desperately needed.
Haven’t forecast a draw recently so I will know …… but no result would surprise me!!!
Don’t think we’ll win this but think positive & all that. I agree that sacking the manager is pointless, the players need to stand up & perform. I’m still bemused as to why Ikeme isn’t being played!!!
Come on lads!!
Who could have any idea trying to predict what this team is likely to do.
Don’t expect anything out of this game.
A win by a short neck Price to be Wolves Rete Mirabile
Firstly, Tuesday.I must admit I was really gutted by the result, the nature of the performance and, mostly, the inexplicable substitutions which contributed massively to the first two.
I couldn’t speak about it for a couple of days, but the resilience of the human spirit never ceases to amaze so here I am, only four days later and feeling almost like my old self again.
On the face of it, we ain’t got a hope against Burnley. But after the Brentford debacle and the Boro defeat, not many gave us a prayer against Brum but our heroes turned in one of our best performances of the season.
So who can say with any certainty what’s gonna happen in this topsy turvy season. Not I for sure, but hope springs eternal that we can expunge from our souls the depressing memories from Ashton Gate and and drag ourselves kicking and screaming back to mid-table obscurity.
Kenny, I hope and believe, ain’t goin’ nowhere.
COYW
Common sense says we lose.heart always a win. So as to be a draw.in other words I’ve no idea
Not feeling this one unfortunately, hopefully will be proved wrong. COYW!!
5 goal thriller. Wolves win!
Think we’ll concede…hope we’ll score. Performance needed to restore a bit of belief though
Their crest is making me dizzy and such crimes simply shouldn’t go unpunished.
Can’t see us getting a result.
I’m an optimist, or a fool – we’ll find out at ten to five.
Ok so it was a good point. Ok so it was a good clean sheet. But it is not ok to have 11 shots all game with only two on target. If we don’t score we don’t win – simples.
Just watched the 10 seconds of the match on TV. Looks like I was right. Cone on boys, put the feking ball in the net.
Three positives from today.
1. The defence looks immeasurably better and more organised since Williamson came in.
2. The return of Ikeme even if it was due to an injury to Martinez
3. The Sandwell Shadow Dwellers lost and didn’t even manage a single shot on target in the whole game.
KENNY…………………………..
THIS IS NOT FECKIN ROCKET SCIENCE
Ikeme
Golbourne Williamson Batth Iorfa
McDonald Price
Edwards
Byrne Afobe Henry
Don’t Feck what ain’t broke.
Back to Basics and we can stuff Broooom and give a bloody good account of ourselves against ” the leagues high flyers” (my arse, they were bloody average at best)
This was better. 100% better than Tuesday.
Send, Ojo, Holt, ALF, Martinez back to where they came from, keep Williamson, the more I see of him the more he cheers me up.
Not much to ask.
🙂
One last question?
Anyone know how BoringMouth got on to day???
Tee hee hee hee hee.
Stop it, stop it.
Steve McLaren said in the press today, ” Eddie Howe should be the next England Manager”
As a Scot I agree 100%.
You forgot Conner Ronnan for the Ipswich match or our wonder kid that MU wants..we might as well experiment as we are now a mid table
team…
What a thought..I’ve never said that before either..
Wolves are offering Niall Ennis AKA wonderstuff senior player wages and a long term contract, they must be seeing something I didn’t against Blackburn U21’s as Conor Rohnan was El Magnifico that night and he only came on in the 2nd half.
To be fair on Ennis everyone can have an off game, the senior team do it every other game.
🙂
Looking forward to Ipshite now Stevie boy, you watch the tractor boys will stiff us.
I fear McCarthy will be grinning again too…but the word of this season ‘hope’…..
what have we come to…
This was better, much better. We still lack some quality in the wide areas but on another day with a decent ref we would have won this one. Williamson has made a big difference to the back 4 and if Price gets dropped for the next game there will be a revolt!
On a separate note I have just read a piece in the Sunday Times about Nicola Cortese the former chairman at Southampton and widely recognised as the force behind their rise to being a good premier league club. He wants to buy another club and is allegedly looking at Leeds. Apparently the main criteria for him is a focus on youth to build a team around young home grown players and owning the training ground. Hmmmm I wonder if there is an alternative to Leeds (who don’t own their training ground) that might fit the bill?
An emotional morning at Church today. Lest we Forget.
Yes, I’ve just been watching the Service and march past from the Cenotaph.
Kind of puts things into perspective doesn’t it.
Sure does mate. I had a speaking part today which makes it even more emotional. I find the older I get the more susceptible to emotion I become lol.
Spooky this boys,
Just been to the mother-in-laws nursing home and was watching the rememberence day proceedings with her. The woman next to her is completely out of it, rambles on and on about anything in the world, 25.99 and the dogs got out in the Christmas tree with charlie. A bit like Clive. Well she was rabbiting on and on all through the service and when the last post sounded she just suddenly stopped and said “Oh Rememberence day”. Soon as it was finished back into buscuit land as if nothing had transpired. Gave me goosebumps to think such a powerful emotion shook her back to this World.
We should never forget, well done Brompto boy, very smart indeed Captain.
Captain? You must mean Major (Retired) surely lol.
Surely Major, you must mean Shirley. 🙂
I’m up in Washington Tyne & Wear tonight , teaching tomorrow morning.
You should have said, we would have prepared a Sunday Roast for you.
I texted you last week but got no reply, so I thought maybe the mobile was your military one and you didn’t get it. I have been sending messages on match day’s and got Zilch.
Never mind,
I called in at Northallerton and saw my Nephew on the way here. He wants to go to the Rotherham game, are you going?
It looks as if you two are about 5 miles apart and he’s ex military also.
Petrol….Share,,,Car all spring to mind.
Kit Symonds has just been sacked from Fulham.
Probably because he paid £2 Million for Stears and then took him off yesterday.
Kenny Jacket to Fulham anyone????
We got Veterans Day over here on Wednesday
Apparently always on November 11th.
National holiday, but not given the same “reverence” as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Labor Day, Independence Day or Memorial Day
Go figure
SUNDAY EVENING.TOMORROW OFF. What am I to do? I know. I’ll go to the pub! Bound to be some Spanish football on. What better way to celebrate the 0-0 draw and THE S**T defeat. Oh and the darts is on at the civic. Have a good night folks.
