We managed four wins on the bounce this time last season, which briefly catapulted us from the bottom half right up towards the play-offs.
A repeat would be nice and with two winnable home games to come after victory at Forest, there’s certainly an opportunity to put a run together.
Still, it’s probably optimistic to think our consistently inconsistent team will overcome both Bristol City and QPR. History also tells us to be wary.
The last time we had back-to-back home games in Christmas week we got well and truly sorted out by both Peterborough and Ipswich on the way down to League One.
All things considered, I’m permitting myself to feel cautiously optimistic.
Bristol City
With six defeats in their last seven matches, the Robins are sinking like a stone. The top six looked a realistic objective a few months back, but now they’re on the cusp of getting pulled down towards the other dotted line.
If Wolves win this match, they’ll move ahead of Lee Johnson’s side and he’ll know as well as anybody history is against his side in this fixture.
They haven’t tasted victory at Molineux since 1931, which is a 19 game run. And despite the odd home win in that time, you can definitely call us their bogey team.
Much like Wolves, they’re not air tight defensively or prolific going forward so it’s anyone’s guess how this match will unfold.
On loan Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham was banging in the goals early doors, but seems to have found the going tougher lately. I’m looking forward to seeing what he has to offer.
Wolves
Paul Lambert is obviously a fan of changing his team to combat the opposition rather than sticking to a rigid preferred eleven. He said as much after the victories against QPR and Forest. I wonder what he has in store for this one?

The team that started at the City Ground was surprisingly attack-minded with the only disappointment being we didn’t create a fat lot aside from the two goals that went in.
There’s a lot of pace and mobility in forward positions, which is something we haven’t seen enough of particularly at Molineux.
Conor Coady was a surprise choice at full back but isn’t a bad short term solution with Silvio injured, Borthwick-Jackson out of favour and Dominic Iorfa struggling for form.
It would be great to see Bright Enobakhare and Connor Ronan play a part. They both have the talent to make a meaningful impact in the here and now.
Paul Lambert
Predictions
QPR seems like the more winnable of these two winnable festive home fixtures so I’ll play it safe with a draw this time.
I think City have some good individual talent in their ranks, like Tammy Abraham and Lee Tomlin, so they possess enough firepower to cause damage if we allow it to happen.
It’s complete finger in the air guesswork right now given how up and down the performances have been.
2-2.
Up The Wolves!

On a separate note, a very Merry Christmas to everyone connected to the blog. Good tidings to one and all!

No time for banter, gotta shop till er indoors drops!
5-1
Easy peasy
Last prediction was for a draw and we won so going for the same again.
You have to like the way lambert talks, now we need to see this confidence on the pitch especially at home.
I may have over indulged on the dry roasted nuts but I’m feeling pretty good about this one, reckon molineux will be full of Christmas cheer.
Forecast Wolves to lose v Forest – first time I can ever remember taking such a negative view – and we bloody well WON!
Using the same “reverse psychology” path another loss is predicted – again in the fervent hope Wolves will bloody well WIN!
Wishing all bloggers wherever you are a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year. I try to read every blog that’s posted and its a most entertaining forum – thank you to Thomas and his crew.
BOG
3 0 us like I said on the other blog
We desperately need a home win I know its obvious but it will really keep a winning run going and a clean sheet cmon the wolves
Merry Christmas to you all
Dicko on the score sheet would be nice
A winning run of two. Glass half full, for sure. 🙂
A tight game, with the usual Molineux nerves. Think we will just edge it.
4-0 to PL’s rejuvenated team, like what he said at the Fans Parliament so feeling optimistic.
Love to see Conor Ronan on again the boy has a future.
Twixfix, and I are in the North Bank bar on Monday, hope to see anyone else there if your’e passing. Whitley Wanderer we shall take up the cry in an effort to spot you.
Merry Christmas to one and all, on this, the best blog around.
Onwards and upwards.
COYW’s
No H in Witley old Boy, Hope to meet you Boxing Day, have a great Christmas.
As a 17 year old I was in love with a girl from Great Witley!
Thems were the days!
Was her name Kay by any chance, its a small world. Have a good ‘un.
So. Your’e telling me there’s no “F” in Whitley.
lol
See you Monday hopefully.
No more pussy footing around. Lambert’s feet are well and truly under the table now and the Robins will wish they had stuck to being on Christmas cards. An easy win to ease my indigestion. Thanks for another year of a great blog, my best wishes to Thomas, Ben and all the other bloggers.
I remember when we used to be a bit of a bogey team for Bristol…or am I hallucinating again?
The thing is, we need the damn points, so if the ball ricochets in off Amanda Cape’s no doubt peachy little ass, I’ll take it.
So Merry Christmas to all you hard bitten and cynical fans of the Old Gold n Black and hopefully this can break Lamberts two-of-each run of results that has hardly set our world on fire.
Well done to the yoingsters coming through from the academy too, lets hope they are as good as the excuse for a star journos make out. I certainly hope so, so give em a run out Mr Lambert.
UTW
Looking forward to this one could be awesome 2 nil. North Bank Bar one o’clock promt. Merry Christmas one and all.
Looking forward to a good win to celebrate Xmas.
Same team as last week will see us securing 3 points – and then the same again against QPR.
Its imperative we have a good Christmas to kick start our season again.
We must keep Costa,Dicko ( to score),Sacko to come back I hope.
Then with a couple of new signings in the right areas we will have a chance of
stability and consolidation then maybe move in the right direction onwards and upwards.UTW
Hope we continue where we left off against Forest.
Would like to see an unchanged side but PL likes to ring the changes so who knows or cares as long as we win.
Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year to all bloggers.
This season seems to go from the sublime to the ridiculous with poor performances following good ones…but…as it’s Xmas and I’ve been on the cooking sherry I’m going for two festive home wins on the bounce.
Injuries permitting hoping to see the same starting XI, same bench and same substitutions as the Forest game.
Ho ho ho
Festive cheer for Lamberts charge’s and the long suffering faithful. Where’s the advocat I’m starting to feel a little chrismassy. All the best everyone.
As with Bedfordshire Old Gold above, I too predicted a loss against Forest whilst in a fog of gloom, despite being disparagingly seen as a “happy clapper”. And though I’m tempted to do the same the next time out, the truth is I’m not a believer in good or bad luck, so I’ll go for a good win.
Happy Christmas to all who contribute to this great blog. Well, nearly all.
DW
Your blog has given me food for thought and a change of heart.
Wolves to win by 5 (goals that is not o’clock).
Merry xmas everyone. IMO we have really good attacking platers for this division and I felt that Mr Lambert will do the biz for us if we have patience with him. So here’s to 2 belting wins to get the xmas hol off to a great start. Why Not??
Wolves will win 3-1!! I’m working Christmas and new year so that’ll cheer me up…. hopefully
Wolves are on the up and Bristols on the way down, here’s a chance to grab a good home win
There really is no reason with a proactive PL
why we shouldn’t take 6 points out of the next two games..
He’s probably the wisest manager we’ve had since ? and we really have a manager who sees things as they are and is ready to change things..
I’m certain he has faith in Williamson too so I have confidence that we might not concede if he plays soon..
In the meantime we should be able to pick off the likes of Bristols and QPRs so first half 2 goals tomorrow please…
We can haul our way up this god forsaken league by January ready for the Lambert shrewd purchases..
This game is a gimme..
COYW
It always worries me when I read that we haven’t lost to whomever since the year dot and doesn’t Lee Tomlin always play well against us?
Score draw
Just read that bald Shelvey of Newcastle has been banned for five games because of his racist comments to Saiss whilst we were stuffing them back in September.
Is this true, or old news?
Some people are too stupid to insult.
Saiss doesnt speak English too good, so trying to goad him in English seems akin to King Canute on the beach.
Shelvey obviously aint the sharpest knife in the picnic!
I think we are due a home win and I think we all deserve a Christmas present from Santa Lambert and his little helpers.
Wish I could be thereto witness the victory but it would mean leaving two aged mothers and a wood burning stove in the same house.
Not the recipe for a Merry Christmas.
To all those Faithful Wise Men who follow the Star to the Golden Palace, I will raise a glass in salutation.
And to all Wolves bloggers, wherever you may be, I hope that next year will prove a happy one.
Cheers chums!
Who was the geezer who had a go at the ‘amanda’ stuff? Mate. I like Amanda. She dishes it out. And fair play to her she ay shy about it. Thing is if Amanda turned up at the Bloggers bash i guarantee she would get a beer or whatever. That is the thing about this blog. We recognise it is all banter. As will Amanda i reckon.
Thanks Cheesy for being human and grown up unlike foul mouthed, Tam O’ Shanter of Tucson Aeizona and his retired hoppo Doggydodo.
Thanks Amanda for being human and grown up and not resorting to stupid name calling.
Again.
Sometimes banter sounds more like playground bullying – guess it’s all about who’s listening. Wolves on the up so going for a win.
For the sake of my beloved Wolves I am going to tip a loss. Now that I have discovered they are out to wreck my predictions for this season, I will sacrifice my points and hope for a win. Merry Christmas to one and all.
Boxing Day fixtutes always reminds me of 1970 Boxing Day at my Aunt May and Uncle John’s in Hayes in West London. We beat Everton at Molineux 2-0 with a double from The Doog. On that basis and that basis alone I am going for a 2-0 win with a brace by Dicko. Mind you in 1970 it was snowing!
Bedford. You have to put the score in as well.
Come on,Dances, it’s all he can do to type with one finger.
Asking him to multitask?
Never gonna happen!!
I like the look of the team that played last week so hopefully no changes. Would like to see Price play a number of consecutive games and I think we will be starting a run of wins on Boxing Day.
I predict that Dicko will get a goal for Christmas.
Best wishes for the festive season from down under.
By my dubious maths, Mosman, you have already celebrated Christmas and it’s Boxing Day evening down there.
So, did we win??
Merry Christmas to you lucky bastids in Oz.
Love the logic.
In my head we have won by your favourite score. Wolves 5 Bristol City 1
If only that was true Mosman…. I’d be winning the pools, lottery etc …EVERY WEEK…never mind clearing out the bookies ….!
Oh …forgot to add Merry Xmas to you and all of the family… not long to go..!
I’ll be at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day to see Chelsea hopefully thrash Cheatingmouth. I’ll even boo Afobe if he sets foot on the pitch. Meanwhile I’ll keep focused on Molineux. Only one result for me as I see rapid progression under Lambert. I’d really, really, like to see Dicko and Bod on the scoresheet.
I watched an old 1981 movie the other night on TV, called Dangerous Davies. About an underrated, overlooked, bumbling, bashed-about, put-upon detective. Sort of reminded me of Dangerous Dave Edwards. That’s it for me, a brace from our strikers and Dangerous to chip in. 3-0.
Three points, and I’ll even get the score correct (for once)!!
To all the bloggers, no mince pies, no beer, no spirits, and no overindulgence in anything.
No, not you lot. I was describing the sad existence of Amanda and the rest of the Poorthorns crew!!
Have a great one guys!
Hope we can start to get some momentum. BC ain’t up to much
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone and especially to Thomas for the great blog.
See PL wants more of the “Bodvarsson Clap” so lets all celebrate with that.
Sounds like the feel good factor in the team is now back, hope dicko gets 2
On we roll with a victory to move us farther up the table.
Yesterday no matter how many times I tried the scores wouldn’t ‘take’.
Going for a Boxing Day home win to end this year on a Happy note. Clean sheet would be gratefully received. Dicko – this time please – and yes, you other forwards better get on the score sheet before you start getting replaced. Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year to one and all.
They look like a tidy, well-organised unit so this won’t be easy. The Wibraham/Abraham combo could give our defence serious problems with their mix of physicality and pace.
Comparing the last six games with Walt and PL’s first six shows our progress. A bit stop/start it’s true, but undeniable just the same. And it’s not just the scoreline. I feel you can sense the growing confidence and understanding within the squad and some of our recent goals have been superb.
So, I head into the festive season full of hope and good cheer and I’ve no reason to think anything will dampen my spirits in this one. Brizzle look like they’ve pulled all their crackers already and all they’ve left are a few soggy sprouts. I can see them getting a good stuffing unless we have a proper Turkey of a game. So, looking forward to us giving them a good roasting, I shall wish you all a fab Christmas and an even better New Year. Y’know, I think it could be a good ‘un.
Oops ….having my NZ daughter here for 4 weeks and getting up at 4am this morning I forgot to put the score down
Hear hear! The only way is up!
Having read your comment Wolfstroker…yes …I think your on to something.
How I wish Dicko could get a goal, and Dangerous Dave and Costa….that’s it 3-0 to the Wolves
Have a great Xmas…
We Wolves fans are going to get a good Christmas things are on the up. Cannot wait for this one I so love boxing day games see you all there! Happy Christmas all… enjoy.
Just switched on my tablet to dip into the blog trying to decide on a score and there it was, on my home screen the temperature in Wolfland today a high of 9 and a low of 3 — gotta be an omen therefore:-
Good job it’s not a summer game. They’d spend half the match kicking off again.
Yes but the other half we would be scoring some great goals from all over the team, Sheer bliss!!
Happy and healthy Christmas to you all.
…and a good job it’s not in Australia Temp last night 17 and top today of 37. But I bet Clive will have better numbers – they’re in Fahrenheit over there.
The feel good factor is coming back so I think Dicko will join in by finding the net at last, probably more than once. Bristol City will rally briefly but a further couple will see them off. A very merry christmas to all you bloggers.
Ian & Sue
Boxing Day is a day when you can sit back and think it’s only 51 weeks and 6 days till Christmas. Which is good really because you have loads of time to get presents and stuff. Bristol City are one of our favourite opponents and It will be a Bright afternoon and about time we knocked a few goals in.So 3-1.
I know its Xmas and will upset the status quo on here but facts are facts.
The last 5 seasons or so of the current Wolves head coach, already winning hearts and minds of the Wolves gullible usual suspects the fans
.
On most recent form if Mark McGhee 2 was a racehorse you would,nt put money on him, based upon most recent form.
Is he another Donkey…….Jackett ?
The jury is out.
Norwich City
2011-2012 Season
Manager Paul Lambert resigned within a month of the season’s close to take up the vacant managerial spot at league rivals Aston Villa,
Following survival in the Premier League in the 2011–12 season, Lambert offered his resignation on 31 May 2012, but the club declined it however just 2 days later he signed for Villa.
Aston Villa
2012–13 Season
On 2 June 2012, Lambert was confirmed as the new manager of Aston Villa replacing Alex McLeish, who was sacked two weeks earlier.
On 23 December 2012, Villa were defeated 8–0 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the club’s heaviest ever defeat in top-flight football. This was followed by consecutive home defeats, with Villa losing 4–0 to Tottenham Hotspur and 3–0 to Wigan Athletic, leading to increased pressure on Lambert’s position.
On 22 January 2013, Villa played Bradford City in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final at Villa Park, having lost the first round tie 3–1 at Valley Parade. The final score on the night was a 2–1 win for Villa, leaving an aggregate score of 4–3 to Bradford.
Lambert kept his job despite the poor run as the team flirted with the relegation places continuously over the next few months.
2013-14 Season
Towards the end of 2013, Villa performances worsened greatly, especially home form, and Lambert was criticised by many fans and pundits for putting out a counterattacking side with no plan B.
Possession stats were biased towards the opposition in many games, including at home to Swansea; Villa had less than 30 percent of total possession in a game which ended 1–1.
In January 2014, Lambert made headlines by claiming that “many Premier League clubs could do without the distraction of the FA Cup if they were being honest.” Aston Villa subsequently lost 2–1 at home to Sheffield United, a team two divisions below them, marking the fourth consecutive year that Lambert has been eliminated from the FA Cup by lower league opposition. Lambert subsequently defended his comments, claiming they were “taken out of context.
2014-15 Season.
After Villa’s good start to the season, they then went on to have a five-game long goal drought, losing to Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and QPR before scoring in a 2–1 loss at Villa Park to Tottenham.
On 11 February 2015, Villa announced they had parted company with Lambert after a 2–0 loss at Hull, leaving the club 18th in the Premier League table. His departure also meant that the top flight had no Scottish manager, for the first time in 30 years.
Blackburn
2015-16 Season
Lambert was appointed manager of Championship club Blackburn Rovers on 15 November 2015 on a two-and-a-half year deal, with the club in 16th place following the sacking of Gary Bowyer. Lambert secured Championship safety for Blackburn with a 2–2 draw against Bristol City on 23 April 2016. Blackburn ended the season with two consecutive wins, finishing in 15th place.
The club confirmed that Lambert had activated a release clause in his contract, and would step down as manager after their last match of the 2015–16 season on 7 May 2016.
Wolves
2016-17 Season
On 5 November 2016 Lambert, was appointed head coach here at Molineux, taking over with the team in 19th place. So far he has hoodwinked the Molineux faithfull.
Hehaw heehaw hehawlways manages to do it.

We are not invisible, just join us for our end of season gathering at the Park View Hotel – full details to follow. Would be great to meet you in person.
Happy Christmas to all and sundry.
The Bloggers Ball Bash thingy in May – given that the last home game is a 12 noon kick-off on Sunday 07 May 2017 should we do the ‘do’ on the Saturday evening so we can go to the game to watch us finish the season in style refreshed on the Sunday? Some of us youngsters will have work on the Monday and a late boozy Sunday evening might not be productive or attractive?
On a separate note I was just thinking about great managers like Cullis, McGarry and Turner. Then my thoughts turned to great Sandwell Shadow Dweller managers like…………………………………………….and…………………………………………………and then there was……………………………………. Oh come on there must have been one at least once upon a time!
I’m booked in for the Sat night Bedford… then off to celebrate reaching the playoffs on the Sunday..lol..
How on earth do you (as in “us”) bring you into the youngsters category… Yoam aving a little loff ay ya !!
Merry Xmas.
My three closest Bedford Wolves allies are BOG, nearly 64, Rhys Lightning, just turned 70 and Tim who must be at least 68 so I am the young whippersnapper of the group. I frequently spend the two hour journey to Molineux trying to explain to them, for the umpteenth time, how decimal currency works.
Hi Bedford and happy Christmas. I’m also booked in at PVH for the Saturday night. I’m thinking I might book a second night on the Sunday but that will mean taking leave on the Monday, but I’ll decide that closer to the time.
Happy christmas to one and all…..and a late thank you to Thomas for putting himself out to attend Fans Parlament I was to wrapped up in writing my blog to say so at the time ……..so sorry to Thomas for that.
I think someone has blogged that Lambert changes his team to suit the opersition my answer would be why………why change a winning team isn’t that what were have been crying out for a winning settled team, consistentcey. I can understand changes for injury or lack of form.
I think he should stick we the team that beat Forest, Price defiantly should play my fear is a Saville reappearance on the team sheet but he will do his usual disappearing act on the pitch………Lambert if it ant broke DON’T fix it…………unless you have to!
Spot on Paul F
Wolves to win Costa and Cav to score again hopefully.
COMBs!
Interesting point about changing the team to suit the opposition Paul.
Back in WW1, we knew the enemy had machine guns and were well dug in, but we still sent our boys OTT to their demise because that’s how we’d always done it, and it always worked then, against swords and single shot rifles.
I just mean that if the opposition have two hulking great centre halves, perhaps it’s better to play small, nippy strikers and a midfielder who can play accurate through balls, than have wingers crossing to a target man. And vice versa of course. For instance. I mean there could be some merit in it, don’t you think.
Firstly I would like to say a big thanks to all the bloggers and to Thomas, Ben and all who contribute to this great blog. Here’s wishing you all a great Christmas and a brilliant 2017. 🙂
Now, the match…
For the first time I forecast a defeat against Forrest. For this match I really feel a big result is in the pipeline. I expect the same starting line up.
A thrashing is on the cards 🙂
Taking a break from W2, going in the Techworx Box in Billy Wright on Boxing Day. My last visit to my lad’s box was v Brentford, the last time we won at home this season. I hope that’s a good omen.
Enjoy the hospitality – as you point out the last time you were in the box coincided with the last home victory when we beat Brentford 3-1.
Over 3 months ago – bloody hell thats a pretty grim stat which we must put right on Monday.

The Ghosts of Christmas Past
Did you know – no doubt you did – that TRAINS used to run on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. In those far off days the train bosses and unions actually put the travelling public at the forefront of importance. How times have changed.
The last league games played on Christmas Day occurred in 1959 (although Blackpool played a home fixture in 1965); however the last complete fixture list was in 1957.
Boxing Day of course has been the traditional time for festive football since time immemorial. It was also a ritual to play the same opponents home and away. Wolves’ generally played Aston Villa in fixtures that drew enormous attendances. Way back in Christmas 1933, Wolves lost 6-2 at Villa Park on Christmas Day in front of 57,000 and the following day won 4-3 at Molineux when over 45,000 packed into Molineux.
Fast forward to the winter of 1945 and over 90,000 witnessed the two games vs Villa but the following year for some strange reason Wolves played Sunderland at Molineux on Christmas Day when a goal by Hancocks secured a 1-0 victory. On Boxing Day Wolves travelled the 180 miles to Roker Park and won 2-1 when just fewer than 54,000 attended on a bitter afternoon which precluded the dreadful winter weather of 1947 when record snowfall blanketed the country. Between January 4th and March 1st Wolves played just 4 league games and three FA cup matches but far more importantly the weather had a devastating effect on the public at large as coal supplies to power stations were unable to get through, food production was curtailed, and a coal shortage led to households buying electric fires to keep warm which in turn put further strain on the power stations for more coal! Manny Shimwell – the Labour minister for energy – allowed himself to be hoodwinked by the NUM (no change there then) that coal production was far higher than it really was. In fact less than 4 weeks supply was in stock at the start of the year instead of the pre-nationalised level of 10/12 weeks.
The following Christmas a combined 10,000 or so were locked out at both Molineux and Villa Park when the teams met again over the holiday. Wolves won 2-1 at Villa Park watched by an incredible crowd of 68,000 and 4-2 the following day when an equally impressive 55,000 observed the action. In the four games over the Christmas period Wolves netted a remarkable eleven goals with Denis Westcott scoring 6, wee Johnny Hancocks(with size 11 boots) 4 and Jimmy Mullen the other. Wolves v Villa at Christmas was really the “norm” in the post war seasons and the attendances continued to be huge culminating in 1949 when nearly 70,000 squeezed into Villa Park as Wolves romped home 4-1 with Roy Swinbourne bagging a brace.
Over the next few seasons successive fixtures vs the same team over the Christmas period became less obvious. On Boxing Day 1962 Wolves v West Bromwich was abandoned at half time with Wolves leading 2-0. A blizzard blanketed Wolverhampton and in no time at all the touchlines had vanished and it was impossible to see the South Bank from the North Bank. From December 16th 1962 to March 9th 1963 Wolves played in 4 league games. The fixture congestion resulted in ten games played in the period from March 30th to April 30th. (Mind you we beat West Brom 7-0 when the Boxing Day match was replayed).
On Boxing Day 1967 along with HAGS schoolmates Roger and Wally, I travelled with Don Everall coaches to Old Trafford and a 4-0 thumping defeat with George Best scoring two. It was estimated over 10,000 were locked out with 63,450 inside. We were perched high up on the open scoreboard terrace opposite the Stretford End and could peer over the wall outside to see Warwick Road (now Sir Matt Busby Way) absolutely crammed with folk trying to get admission.
A couple of days later 53,940 roared on Wolves in a corker of a game which ended 3-2 to Manchester United. Mike Bailey and Paddy Buckley scored for Wolves at a rainswept Molineux as we looked on from a North Bank crush.
That really was the end of the double headers over the festive period. Maybe there could have been one or two instances in the last 50 years but I cannot remember them at all.
Below is a photograph of Eddie Stuart and Nat Lofthouse of Bolton, tussling in the Molineux snow.
BOG
Omg BOG …I haven’t even read your post …but …that picture…that was proper football…!!
I know Twix – before undersold heating games generally just seem to carry on regardless of the conditions.
And folk seemed to turn up no matter how bad it was.
Scenes like the photograph above have largely disappeared due to the under soil heating and the lack of harsh winters these days.
However with the snow lying deep and crisp and even it certainly made for exciting viewing!

We’re in for a real Xmas treat here. PL is certain things are looking up and hopefully they are. It’s about time we scored a few In one game so I’ll go for a comfortable win.
On a regular day we’d win this one. Thumbs up for the newly aligned attacking constellation to shine Bright once again.
Definitely a “Horribilis Annis”
FFS hurry up into 2017.
RIP Rick Parfitt.
You made millions of people very, very happy, so so Sad.
Bodvarson ahead of Dicko at the start on Monday.
Bod , Edwards and Caveleiro with the goals.
2 teams struggling at the moment. Bristol Citys woes as bad as ours with their recent slide down the table.
Lets make some noise and cheer the boys onto victory. Looking at a decent attendance too
Happy Christmas to you all
My friends all year round !!
Merry Xmas to you too LWL…maybe see you on Mon in the bar..
Merry Christmas everybody…
All I want for christmas is…………………a happy new year world peace end to poverty an end to conflicts around the world…..and last but not least Sandwell town to win ther Premier league………at least I know the last one will never happen…!
Merry christmas and in the words of a famous Irish comedian ” may your god be with you who ever that may be “
Dave Allan…… The famous Irish comedian…..at least he was when I was young.!
Surely probability must be on our side by now, a home win must be on the cards. Another disappointing game at the Molineux would really spoil the festivities so it’s time for the guys on the pitch to reward the faithful fans with a convincing performance that sends everyone home happy and positive for once. A Dicko goal appears to be the Christmas gift that everyone wants; it would certainly get the biggest cheer of the season so far.
As another year of blogging is nearing its conclusion, I am reminded of an away trip to Charlton last Christmas and the sad fact that we’ve not had a great deal to cheer on the pitch in between; let’s hope 2017 brings considerably more in terms of entertainment and excitement.
As for the game, I can’t wait, I look forward more to the Boxing Day fixture than Christmas Day itself – a hard fought victory with an extra rendition of Hi Ho at the end of the game to top up the Christmas spirit.
Happy Birthday tomorrow Ledbury. ???
Thanks mate, always been a weird day for me somehow. I didn’t know it at the time but Wolves did the double over Villa on Christmas eve and Boxing day that year to go 2nd in the league with WB marooned at the other end; how times have changed! Perhaps someone on here went to those games and can identify the year?
If your’e over the jet lag, you and your 16 year old son are more than welcome in the North Bank bar, (my 12 Grandson gets in) twixfix and I are hoping to bump into Witley Wander in there. Right hand side of the bar. Love to meet you heard good things about ypu.

It was a bit of a squeeze today, Twixfix and I were there looking for Witley wanderer too, but have to admit like the Wolves I gave up.
Be there for QPR game so perhaps that one.
Happy Bithday Jesus
Christmas greetings from the West Coast to all bloggers and special thanks to BOG for the bitter/sweet memories of Boxing Days of old. Thanks also to Thomas and the team that keep this superb blog available to us all.
Last time I visited Ashton Gate was for preseason game in 2009 when we first saw Milijas in black and gold and he unveiled a couple of amazing 50 yard passes. I’m just putting finishing touches to my next visit which will be April 8, following trip to Edinburgh to help youngest daughter celebrate her 21st. Which is a long lead in to saying I’m hoping that April 8 will mark a double over Brisstle and a chance to grab a pint or two with fellow bloggers and celebrate an unbeaten start to 2017. Or whatever other reasons might be relevant for a pint or two…
So that says my prediction machine is now aligned with PL’s team selection and game plan ..and we will somehow scrape a win tomorrow…he does talk a good story does PL.
anyway let’s accumulate a few points and get to mid table safety and plan for a better next season
Seasons greetings bloggers – may all our Wolves wishes come true
Up early. Got some cooking to do.
I’m feeling really positive today, about all things Wolves at least. Jealous as hell of you guys heading off to the Mol tomoz, cause I think our heroes are gonna give you a Christmas treat. Personally, although I know it’s not the same, I’m off to see the Wanderers too. Wycombe that is. Playing at Plymouth Argyle who currently sit atop League 2. Have to try and find something green to wear. Maybe dress up as one of Santa’s elves.
Ah well. Back to my chores. Now……where’s my pinny.
Hoping that our home form will improve
Its time for action on the pitch and nothing less than a win will do. Two wins this week and we are on the way. Come on you wolves.
It was good of Amanda to post a picture of herself on the blog at last.
Now we all know what she looks like.
Funnily enough, just as I imagined!
She ain’t that pretty…
It was for you and Kwikcrap to get some lead in your pencil Doggydodo, you sad old persons.
At your ages you should be grateful, very very grateful.
it’s such a shame you failed business has made you bitter….
At least you didn’t deny that you agree as to being uglier than that ugly sister..
Was your husband pissed when he bumped into you?
I can’t believe that your career as a beautician went down the pan when you can make yourself look so attractive Aman?duh!
A bit like your blogging contributions.
Subtle and clever are obviously your forte.
Still no Christmas cheer at home
Can’t see us winning two in a row just yet and certainly can’t see two clean sheets in a row. So…..
Taking my 8 year old granddaughter down for her first game tomorrow, she will be fully kitted out with her new wolves kit on so please wolves don’t make it her first and last. Daddy is a MU fan and is waiting to pull her onto the dark side and has his kit ready and waiting. Please Wolves can you give her a game she will remember, full of goals and excitement, I would love to think that she will fall in love with the club as did I at that age, here’s hoping.
It’s a Wolves win.
Converting a child to Wolves from the manure is cruel – won’t work anyway
For no other reason than feeling happy and relaxed as we are currently cruising the Whitsunday islands and I’ve just got back into range ,
First stop , wolves blog ,
bavk to football, Iv never liked bcfc since they cheated in that penalty shootout ! I heard Wolfe and a couple of his mates are planning a little surprise for those cheating pigs in the subway just before kickoff, should set the scene nicely
Happy Xmas to all bloggers
Merry Christmas one and all.
It’s been a while since the last game and that being the case I suspect the players might be a bit sluggish.
Santa is a Wolves fan !!!
Yeah Stu Wolf. RIP Rick of the Quo. Although I am a died in the wool old punk I liked the Quo. Just stripped down rock n roll. None of the pompous shit like Queen or Emerson Lake and Palmer. RIP Rick Parfitt.
Time to start winning at home.
RIP Rick and George
WTF is going on in 2016, there’s still another 5 days left. So many talented singers and artist’s.
Anyone that can entertain folk are worth their weight in Gold.
RIP George.
We really need some goals from our centre forwards. Wonder how much patience lambert will have in dicko with the transfer window looming?
R.I.P Rick and George……….the wife’s in shock massive George Michael fan not my cup of tea but, a brilliant entertainer he just couldn’t handle the fame side……..sad.
Rick was more my cup of tea Quo’s opening at Wembly for Band Aid was hairs on back of your neck stuff, rocking all over the world every person on the Wembly pitch was jumping up and down even Prince Charles was tapping his feet and Diane……it always seems to be this time of year we seem to lose people.
Thanks for the memories..!
Just booked rooms at A Park View for Saturday 06 May 2017 for me and BOG. £80 each including breakfast can’t be bad – and free parking while we are at the game on the Sunday as we clinch promotion!
Not many rooms left by the way so if you were thinking of staying there I’d get in quick! If it is anything like the one in May 2016 it will be a great weekend full of laughs, good food, plenty of drinks and most of all great company with all things Wolves being firmly on the menu.
Just tried to book for the night of Sat 6th May. Fully booked, damn, knew I should have booked earlier.
Hi Brompton
Why not try the Novotel on the Wolves deal. It is walking distance to APVH and Molineux ? We have stayed there but gone to APVH to meet the others and have a drink.
Yahoo. Just tried to book through Booking.com, but said no rooms were available. So went direct to Park View site and am now in!!!
Thanks for suggestion of Novotel mate.
Hiya Brompton….I went there today and it was closed.
I suggest you try tomorrow and speak to Sat as she is often able to find you something…
Have a good few days..
Brompton.
You can have Clive’s room, he don’t stay long.
🙂
Be the best Xmas present if we get the win and a good one to push onwards up the table COYW
Hope all Wolves supporters and their families are having a great Christmas. Will be even greater if we can get a win this afternoon.
I did not submit a prediction for the Forest game and we won. For that reason I’m not submitting a prediction for this game also. Here’s hoping for the same outcome.
Yipee
We win
We go above Ipshit
The shit lose in the last few mins
Merry fuckin’ Christmas, Pulis and your tart, Cape
Happy day at Clive Mansions!!
We never do things the easy way ….. but who the feck cares. 3 points.
Great come back , defence still a major concern out paced for therem first goal and out jumped for there secound.
Ispwich fans calling for McCarthy head……..knew it would only be a matter of time !
Great to win and a great fight back though centre of defence is still a worry judging by the two Bristol goals just seen on TV. Batth and Stearman are clearly not the partnership to take us forward.
Defence would be a major concern if we had one. Anyway lets not get carried away if we nick 6th place fine.
Golden moments……
Here’s a bloody scary picture boys and girls.
This is what 2016 took from us.
How many of them touched your lives and hearts over the years.
I wake up each day and put a mirror to my nose and mouth, just to check I’m still here.
What a load of talent we’ve lost this year.
RIP 2016.
Two things Stu.
Great pic, though as has been pointed out to me, Lemmy died in 2015.
I hear that GM died of a chocolate related mishap. Another Careless Whispa.
The Tory wanker Barlow out of Take That is next. God Save The Fuckin Queen.
Cheesey – dont think we should be wishing anyone dead even in jest. Mind you if we were I’d probably vote for professional angry man and hypocritical Remoaner leftie Bob Geldof edging it over Russel Brand and Jonathan Ross.
There was me thinking that Big Sam denied us cos of the England stuff and then he turns up at Palace…traitor to the Black Country….
Great result.. if we can bang in three then we win ..if we bang in two we get a draw…
The only way to defend is to attack then?..Lambert – Quote ‘ it’s the only way we have’…slight admission that the suicide squad at the back is as good as a chocolate teapot..
6th place it is then..and Wembley ..
Wolves fan he may have been but big fat greedy Sam is dead to me , gets caught with his big fat nose in the nose bag and what does football do ! Gives him another big fat piece of the pie , there’s lots to not like about football these days I hope he chokes on his third bacon egg and sausage sarney in the morning whilst reading about himself in the sun.
You can knock it Marney, and I fully understand why, but many on here were desperate to give him a job.
Funny how as soon as we have switched to a 4231 system we look good and have won both games. Now which Blogger kept saying we should play 4231?
Morning Bedford. Yes I was a bit harsh but I posted that last nite after a load of beer celebrating the win. I’ve never been a fan of corporate pop stars made for mass consumption like wham, take that, westlife etc and I probably had my old punk head on when I posted. All the best.
Cheesy don’t feel too bad mate. I got bladdered a few years ago and decided it would be a good idea to get married……..
Look how that feckin turned out:-)
