The postponement of the Crawley game was probably a good and bad thing.

Bad in the respect that it would have been nice to follow up a solid performance against Preston, but good because playing on a slow, difficult pitch would have suited them more than us.
The other added plus is of course the recovery time, so hopefully we’ll see the benefit of that tomorrow against Bristol City.
This fixture verged on the farcical last season with Carl Ikeme’s comedy gaffe, but Wolves recovered to secure a win that effectively killed off City’s survival hopes, whilst providing us with the mother of all false dawns.
Bristol City
Sean O’Driscoll lost his job at the end of November as City continued to flirt with a Wolves-style double dip.
Steve Cotterill seems to have solidified the team in recent weeks and they come into this match unbeaten in their last 5, but still 23rd in the table.
The 36 goals they’ve scored is only 5 less than Wolves, but with 39 conceded (against Wolves 19) it’s clear to see where their problems lie.
If they can keep the back door shut, they have players capable of doing the damage, such as former Arsenal man Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Sam Baldock, who each have 12 league goals already.
Plans are afoot to redevelop Ashton Gate in the summer, so City fans will be hoping that isn’t as a League Two club. I think they’ll survive.
Wolves
Wolves have been significantly bolstered by the arrival of Nouha Dicko and the return of Price, Doherty and Ebanks-Landell. But even with all those fresh faces, I’d still expect to see the same team that saw off Preston:

With so many young players having already proven they can do the business at this level, Kenny Jackett is blessed with options all over the pitch so it’s up to him to manage such considerable resources.
The odds
Wolves are favourites for the win at 3/4. City are 17/4 and the draw is 14/5.
If you fancy new signing Nouha Dicko as first goalscorer odds of 5/1 are available. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is City’s most likely first scorer at 7/1.
All odds available here.

Predictions
No PL action last weekend with the game postponed, so a week’s rest for yours truly 🙂
As I’ve stated a few times recently, I feel we’ve now got players to really make the most of the wide Molineux pitch. The likes of Henry, Jacobs, McDonald and even Golbourne seem to thrive in open spaces.
If we can maintain possession as well as we did for periods against Leyton Orient and Preston, I think we’ll win easily, but I expect Bristol City to be better than most expect.
A narrow win for me – 2-1
Up The Wolves

An attractive 2-2 draw that we won’t believe we didn’t win.
Also, Thomas, whatever settings you’ve changed, the comment box is now dark grey on dark grey as you type. Mobile site, latest Android version.
onxe posted everything becomes legible again.
Thanks for the heads up Chris. I’ve changed the theme of the mobile site so hopefully that will solve the problem short term.
Appreciate the feedback, it helps me make sure the site’s working in the best possible way for everyone.
Wolves 3-1 Bristol City
Think KJ will ease Dicko into the game as a sub, looking forward to seeing him in action
UTW
An early goal followed by BC pressure followed by a late goal. Deja vu all over again. 2 – 0
2-1 win. Dicko to score after coming on as a sub. UTW.
Just about to leave for Wolverhampton.
A couple of nights in our favourite hotel will hopefully go some way to getting rid of this bloody cold that has been hanging around the DOOGooder household over the Festive Season.
I’m very positive about this game.
A good win for Kuddly Ken’s boys I think.
3-1 to the men in old gold.
PS. Get them in Martin, I think it’s your round.
Wolves 2 nil I think we’re really starting to click and we’ll be good for the win tomorrow
Coming over from Chesterfield by train tomorrow, and I`m hoping the tribute to Bert Williams will inspire the team to win 4-0. With so many ex and current Wolves goalkeepers at Molineux tomorrow, its inconceivable the opposition will score against what is already the meanest defence in the division.
After the last performance against Preston I’d be surprised if KJ didn’t stick with the same starting line up but I expect to see Dicko at some point.
Looking at the size and quality of our squad against other teams in this division it’s now time to start putting a winning run together and cementing a place in the top two. As much as I think KJ is doing a good job after inheriting a team in decline our resources in this league are way ahead of anyone else and we really need to start putting a few teams to the sword especially at home.
Wolves 2 – Bristol City 1
UTW
Looking forward to a good performance and a solid victory this week. I can’t see any reason to think otherwise. 3-0
What is it with West Ham?
They seem to want all our cast offs, Jarvis, Relegation Roger and now Lescott.
Ward, O’Hara and Foley are all still available, Sam, come get them!!
You will all be pleased to know we had an ice storm sleet thingy come through last night/this morning, so the prize scarf has come out of it’s box for an overdue wearing!
As to the game, this time I really think my usual prediction will come true, someone is overdue for a whoppin’, so:
Wufflers 5 Them 1
Lescot? Cast Off? First time that I have to disagree on that one mate. Lescott was brilliant for us and moved on to bigger things. I agree with the rest of your post though Clive!! Oh!! and you found your scarf I am sure you suggested some visitor nicked it lol!
I beg to differ!
Everton and Manchester City are not bigger or better clubs than us.
They might both be in the Prem fighting for Champions League qualification, but that’s nothing!
Any club can have a rich owner who spends gazzillions on buying players from all over the world, but it takes a special club to have a rich owner who wont spend a friggin penny, but pays his ceo gazzillions!
And, neither of the aforementioned Prem clubs have supporters like wot we do, have.
I think I lied about the scarf, Scooped said he was gonna nick it, but he lied as well!!
Any rode, I would back us against West Ham if we played them right now, especially as there is a clause in any loan agreement regarding relegation Roger, in that he WOULD HAVE to play against us !
Cricket score!
FOwb
lol. Yeah I understand where you are coming from, but I said bigger things not bigger clubs. I meant that he moved on to play “regular” football in the top flight and subsequently in Europe. I agree with your comments about support mate – we are simply brilliant. I was at Oldham last night and it was a magic atmosphere. Would be good to meet up for a beer before match when you come over next mate.

Hope it’s a Wolves scarf Clive!!!!
I’m not feeling confident one this one, Brizzle aren’t as bad as the league table would suggest. I have a horrible feeling about tomorrow, But with that being said Wolves 3-2 Brizzle last minute winner coming me thinks.
I was born in Bristol, and although we moved up to the Midlands just after my 1st birthday, until I had my Old Gold baptism aged 7 I used to proclaim my support for both Bristol clubs. I have recently moved back to Bristol, some 30 odd years after I left, and yet feel not one shred of sentiment towards either City or Rovers.
I hope we pull them to pieces on our big, well kept playing surface. I hope our pacy new forward gallops into acres of space behind them and bags a classy debut hat trick.
I predict we’ll win 4-0.
UTW
I see us starting with the same team that took Preston apart, and capitalise on that excellent performance. I do however, see Dicko being introduced and him scoring on his debut. KJ wants to play him as a striker and Dicko himself will want to show that the decision to buy him was a good one. That said, I am sure that Griffiths will also want to show the gaffer that he should be included at the start and will be out to prove a point too.
Wolves 4 Bristol 1
We need to win this one……and I think we will.
Wolves 3 – 0 Bristol City
Same starting line up again but I agree that Dicko will be put through his paces at some point during the second half. Hoping that the break doesn’t have its usual affect on us and we play some utter crap so fingers crossed, we need to go on a winning streak now and make one of the top 2 spots our own.
Wolves 2 – 1 Bristol City
UTW
Should be 2-0 but I give them a goal 2-1…..I fancy also 5-1 on Dicko too he’ll be given the balls to deal with no doubt..we must keep up with the Londoners ..must win.
It’s time to kick on. No matter who the opposition is it’s time to flex the muscles and, I think, show a bit more arrogance in pulling teams apart. Not to the point where we’re over-confident, but we need to really have a run where we’re talking 13 wins in 15 games.
Wolves 3-0 Bristol City
Bristol seem a fair bet to be able to score, but Ithink we’ll win. So it’s a 2-1 Wolves win.
3-0 to Wolves!
I’ll miss the game unfortunately since I’ll be on a plane to Leeds.
Why?
Kamikaze ?
2-0 to WWFC.
No easy games in this league, or any league in fact. We need our forward(s) to start hitting the net again. I expect Griffiths to start and if his head is right grab at least one goal and replaced by Dicko around the 60-65th minute period.
Then again KJ might surprise us all and start with Doyle and Dicko up front with Edwards and Dicko on the bench. The Mol pitch is perfect for our wingers and made for 4-4-2. I am fed up seeing teams passing the ball around the back, middle and then back again. Time to to move the ball forward, at speed, down the wings and through the middle, run at their defence and leave them with their heads spinning.
Close but Wolves to win by the odd goal – Wolves 2-1
🙂
Should read *with Edwards and Griffiths on the bench * !!
Wolves 4 Bristol City 1
A canter
The PNE performance was the turning point and it will be all guns blazing now as the BC resistance will be far inferior to theirs. Flip-flopping between 5-0 and 6-0 and will plump for the former, 5-0 Wolves and the start of a title winning run.
Wolves 2:1 Bristol C
On paper we should win but two things concern me.
1. We’ve had a 2 week break and are notoriously lethargic when ever we have had a break enforced or International.
2. Bristol City haven’t beat us for donkeys years at home which means sooner or later they will I’m just hoping its not tomorrow.
I’m going for a draw 2.2 on the pretexted that we’ll win really if you get my drift. Last game I said we’d loss and we won so I’m hoping I’m wrong again.
Looking forward to seeing Diko would be great see see him and Griffiths up front.
I too am concerned that every time we miss a game for some reason, we lose the next one.
I also think Steve Cotterill has made them a lot harder to beat.
But, hey, me and the Doogooders are going so that means a win.
Same result as when we went to the away game, 2-1.
Wolves 3 City 1
I’ve a feeling there could be a few goals in this one. Wolves to win 3-2.
2-0 to the Wolves
UTW
Wolves 5 Bristol 0
BIG SNARLING BEASTS 3 SAGGY RED BREASTS 0
(ie Wolves 3 Robins 0!)
How can Emmanuel Thomas be a Jay and a Robin at the same time?
I’m going to my first Saturday match for a while, so hoping to see an entertaining performance.
3-1 win. Dicko off the bench to score the third.
Wolves 5 Bristol 2
It would be good for us to go on a 12 match winning run to match what Brentford have done
that’s the sort of thing we must do to get us out of this godforsaken league.
Really hoping for a win of any sort tomorrow,we seldom do well after a break so lets get it going..i’m going for a 3-1 to me babbie’s
In haste….more midfield domination and swarming forward. Wolves 3 City 1.
Wolves 2 – 1 Bristol
Thought I’d have got a bonus point last week for being 1st to predict a postponement!
Anyway, usually do well against BC. Can’t believe how few tickets they have sold – less than a thousand.
Team selection will be interesting tomorrow. Please go 4-4-2 Kenny.
Wolves 2 Bristol C 0
We’ve had a rest with the Crawley game off, and with Bristol City severely short of confidence and in the relegation zone it’s an opportunity for us. A chance for Nouha Dicko to make a good early impact, it’s about time we turned on the power against one of the lower opposition. For me, an emphatic 3-0 win at Molineux – goals from Griffiths, Jacobs and maybe Dicko. Hope we get a few more in – Leon Clarke, Scott Hogan and Alex Pritchard would do lovely. Cost of the players – £3m max. Price of promotion in first season – Priceless!
2-1 wolves come on
Need a win with Brentford winning at the moment
Wolves 3-1 Bristol City
4-1 to us, forwards on a mission, stoppers good as ever.
One thing that really bugs me, is the amount of the Old legends who are now at the end of their days when Moxey and Morgan have took us to league one.
These guys deserve a great send off of course but it would be more fitting in front of the premier league cameras…
Did you watch the Brentford game tonight.. No wonder they have won their last 10 at home. Have you seen their pitch, even Arsenal couldn’t play football on that..
Wolves 5-0 Bristol City
Must get on a long winning run to keep auto promotion a reality. Should have enough here, so
Wolves 2 – BC 0
Wolves to win 3-0
Wolves 4-2 Bristol city
I preferred it when we were in the automatic promotion places!
It would be easy to change the team to accommodate Dicko but I think we should stick to the 11 that started against Preston. Dicko can unload in the second half. I’m hoping we come out of the blocks quickly and I predict a 3-1 to the Wolves. Looking fwd to paying my respects to the “Cat”.
Scooped tells me you were there to see “The Cat’s” debut, back in nineteen bow and arrow.
Is that true?
I have seen the cat but I was only about 7. What a frickin cheek scooped has got. It eats all my Twix’ s, uses my ticket, then calls me an old git. Good win today.. and saw scooped and Big Mark.
Wolves 3 BC 1 for me please
I can’t make my mind up. It’s either a stuffing or a 1-0. I’ll go for the latter.
Wolves 1 Bristol City 0
I think we will comfortably take this one 3-0.
Dicko to get onr off the bench
Wolves 4 Bristol City 2.
Nuff said………………..Wolves 4 City 0 All the way
after weeks rest hope we are on top form 3-0 wolves win
We aint list at home to bristol since 1931 is that right? And i dont think we will lose today. I think griffiths will get back on the goal trial and we will win 2 or 3-0… Especially if we play like we did against preston
So who has got a point to prove?
Griff to show he can score, but only to impress any Scottish scouts watching?
Doyle, to remind everyone he hasn’t totally disappeared off the radar?
Sako – inside a week to impress Forest (again)?
Dicko – who will become our no.1 striker (for the rest of this season anyway)
And despite thinking we will win easily (which we should), because of the break, we will stutter to a 2-1 victory
Wolves 2 City 0
Time to get our asses into gear. Wolves 3 City 1
Hoping for a strong win COYW
Wolves 2 – 0 Bristol
I think we have the depth in the squad to be well up there at the end of the season but we have to keep winning to keep up with Brentford and LO. I reckon another 2-0 win for Wolves.
Back pages in Scotland suggesting Griffiths to Celtic for £1.25m…if there is truth in that is it likely he will be risked today….I did comment at the start of the season that Griffiths would score a few goals then Pie Man would sell him come the January transfer window…should have had a bet on that instead of a tenner on Griffiths bring the League 1 top goalscorer…
Anyway, onto the prediction, I think we will be really up for this, so I will go for the win I reckon.
Wolves 3 – 0 Bristol City
UTW
Finally, against preston, we play 5 in midfield with 3 proper centre midfielders, not 2 centre midfielders and a forward. We totally dominated possession of the ball. Although i dont rate edwards as a footballer, he has engine to get up to support the loan forward. If we keep the 4-5-1 formation we will be promoted with brentford. Wolves 2 – city 0
Wolves 2 – 0 Bristol for me please
Looking forward to a relaxing 3-1 win
Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative!
Wolves 3 Bristol City 0
Don’t think we’ll have it all our own way but fancy us to nick it 2-1.
So it was a fond Bon Voyage to Twixfix as he heads off to the Antipodes for a few weeks.
Good enough I think. After all, it’s sensible at his age to get stuck into the old bucket list and following in the footsteps of his convict ancestors seems a most appropriate trip for him to make.
As for Big Mark – didnt see much of him yday. He seems to have grown so fond of his new seat he never leaves it now. A mystery no doubt as not even the lure of an in sell-by date twix couldnt budge him.
Glad KJ didn’t listen to Twizfix’s suggestion to leave Dicko on bench for 1st half as his goal & assist gave us a cushion that Brizzle Titty never threatened to claw back.
Thanks for everything Twixfix. I effin love you!
