I’ll get over the play-off semi-final defeat one day.
But as firmly as I’m clinging onto that particular grudge, I’m glad Bolton have managed to stay afloat after a few uncomfortable years.
I don’t like seeing any club struggling to maintain their very existence, so it’s good that they’re still here and we can resume the rivalry.
Despite the 28 point gap and the obvious gulf in quality you wouldn’t put it past them to throw a spanner in the works.
Bolton
I am surprised they made an immediate return from League One given the turmoil on and off the field that Phil Parkinson inherited.
Persuading him to join from Bradford was a smart move given his success in the lower leagues but maintaining their Championship status will be an even tougher challenge for a manager who is yet to prove his credentials at this level.
The Trotters come into this game second from bottom with only two wins from their eighteen matches.
Both of those victories came at the Macron Stadium and they haven’t beaten anyone in their nine away matches to date. Hopefully it’s not tenth time lucky.
Former Wolves skipper Karl Henry is back in town for another showdown and Adam Le Fondre may also feature.
Wolves
After this game we don’t play again for the best part of ten days, so I don’t expect Nuno to indulge in rotation.

At the front of the queue is Helder Costa. He’s gradually starting to look like the player we loved and cherished last season. This might be a nice one for him.
If he plays, it’s likely Cav won’t and that’s very harsh after he enjoyed one of his best performances of the season in midweek.
Predictions
No game is easy in the Championship but Wolves are overwhelming favourites and I expect them to win.
It will be interesting to see how Bolton approach it and how much adventure they demonstrate, but based on our recent form I can only see one outcome.
They haven’t lost any of their last seven matches in fairness, but that’s likely to end if this follows the script.
3-0.
Up The Wolves!

Have no time for Bolton hope we hammer them and end their run and send them into a downward spiral that ends in relegation 5-0 Leo hatrick
I don’t remember 1995 luckily but I do remember 2004 and Uriah Rennie, what a bell end he was.
Can feel Notlob getting an early goal if we are slow getting out of the starting blocks on Sat. They’re jammy like that.
Come on Wolves!
I think cav will definitely start, Costa will have to impress from the bench again I’m afraid which shows how far we have come, hopefully we can just get this one done and move on the blues , I think this team love the bigger occasion, in fact they thrive on it, I actually didn’t think for one moment that we would lose or draw at 2 1 against Leeds which isn’t normally like me , no , I just thought loads of time here to score again, just how good can this season get. I’m even getting arrogant enough to count my chickens ( points) for the next few games,
Is that wrong?
Notlob will shut up shop so we might have to wait for the first goal. Quality and confidence will have us win this one.
Bring it on. 4 consecutive wins is the highest we have had this seaspn so far, so I expect a 5th on Saturday.
I also believe we will keep a clean sheet, and score freely, so:
Wolverhampton Wanderers 6
Bolton Wanderers 0
Bolton,
Don’t get me started on John Mc’fekin’Ginley….. bellend
Anyway, don’t see any starting changes, but another cameo for Costa
Can’t see anything other than a win, but probs gonna say the same to everyone we play.
But someone’s gonna take a beating real soon (not that I wasn’t,t happy with 4:1 tutha night) so what not Bolton
2-0 up at half time and I hope we don’t get kicked to bits…Costa could star as he is currently only in third gear..Ruddy should have time to read the paper..
Consolidation of our league position..
The old Wolves this could be a banana skin
Wolves now- easy peasy..
Sorted…
….. time to read the paper …. brilliant.
I’ve not moved on from Leeds yet…I feel like I’m being rushed….
Honestly, I can’t keep away from yoo chube and sundry Wolves stuff and frankly the best footage of our goals from a Leeds vlogger whose only intelligible line was “I’ll see y’at match”.
Leeds also have a cracking bit of busty crumpet who tests Eddie Grey’s willpower not to look down her ample cleavage and it might be something for Mildenhall wolf’s girl to look into as a career move at Molineux.
This is just the best team ever, isn’t it….I’ve never seen anything close. Leeds had to score a goal Maradonna would have been proud of just to stay in touch with us.
I’d be afraid if I was a Bolton fan. Very afraid. I’m gonna go easy on em and stick with 3 – 0. Although I reckon they’ll be lucky to get nil from what I witnessed last night.
West Bromwich Albion, we’re coming for YOU!
UTW
There’s no doubt that on current form, this should be a home banker and I fully expect a convincing victory. Hope so. I’m heading up to the Mol for this one. Can’t keep away lately.
Hopefully catch up with you this time around. As per usual I’m in W2.
Maybe in the NBB Exiled. I’m in the Steve Bull for this one.
See you there mate. Aint going to Scotland now. Could only get a tkt in Billy Quiet though as Steve Bull Upper sold out lol.
Only cost me 15 quid too, as they had a deal that it would be half price if you were at the Leeds game and …….. I was at the Leeds game!
There have been one or two complaining about games coming thick and fast, but last time I looked, its the same for everyone.
Lets face it, we switched off at 4-1 yesterday, Cav and Nev wisely withdrawn, and keepball was the order of the day.
We could have had more, but we had already done the bizzo, so why risk injuries?
A Burton/Norwich like training session this weekend, and Cardiff and Sheff Utd to slip up.
7 points clear by December 1st
Fowb
I’m surprised your so negative since Nuno has came in Clive, I can understand only 5-1 predictions when we had Lambert, Zenga, Jackett etc…, but this is Nuno, surely 5-0’s are more sensible now?
IT’S FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!
I’m so happy for you Clive. Obviously I would’ve been even happier if this had happened against Leeds when you predicted 5-0 and I went with the 5-1, but that doesn’t mean I’m not happy now.
Will you be changing to 6-1 from now on, or hoping for lightening to strike twice?
You’re a better man than me, Thomas, I’ll never get over that day. I cried, actual tears running down my teenage cheeks. John McGinlay ruined my life.
IT WAS SO UNFAIR!
WE WERE ROBBED!!
Every time I saw Jay Jay Okacha on Match of the Day I thought to myself “We should’ve signed him. That should’ve been us”
Best part of a decade they spent up there, while we suffered ignominy after embarrassment after false dawn.
AND they have the audacity to be called ‘Wanderers’. Plastic northern shite bags.
Someone asked on the Leeds preview who everyone else’s grudge teams were, but I couldn’t reply cos I was on me phone. At the risk of labouring a point, it is notlob for me. Cheating bastards.
Let justice prevail.
We’re coming for you.
We’re coming for you.
West Brumwich Albion, weem coming for you.
The new battle cry, the rallying song to spur us on to the holy Grail that is the PL. Never in my 56 years in Old Gold & Black have I felt so at ease watching from my seat in the Stan Cullis Upper tier, it all seems so calm, skillful and clinical. Nunoism is awash around Molineux,I can’t see many teams taking points from us. It will certainly happen, but that won’t be because they are better teams than us, it will be because we switch off and get our fingers burnt.
9 days off after Saturday, so I do believe Nuno will play his best 11, he is serious and resolute in his quest for the PL, he has the backing of one on the richest groups in football so he don’t want to Feck up and he won’t.
We play the 11 blokes in front of us and we are superior at this moment in our dull as dishwater history. I care not a Jota for what teams inflicted on us in the past, thats water off a ducks bridge up it’s aspidestra.
2-0 for me, a comfortable, professional display, not taking the piss, just a clinical methodical performance to put 3 more points on the board and like Nuno, we move on to the next one. (Which just so happens to be the blouses)
Now that was a joy to behold last year, seeing the place empty as our goal went in to seal the game, is there a fire drill ringing around the empty stadium which echoed like Iv’e seldom heard before. But that’s the next episode in the Nuno circle of life.
Wolves 2
Bolton 0
Fekin brillo!
“that’s water off a ducks bridge”
Just fekin brillo, made me loff this cold & frosty morning 🙂
No disrespect to Bolton but we need to put them to the sword. We are after all at opposite ends of the table, with a 28 point gap.
Cavaleiro and Jota should both start given their performances against Leeds, so perhaps Costa will continue from the bench.
With bleary eyes having been watching the Ashed from Brisbane herewith a quick blog…
No chance of any complacency methinks! Not with Nuno around at any rate.
Yes we have had our run ins with Bolton (the third Wanderers behind Wolverhampton and Wycombe) over the years – the 1997 battle of Burnden Park springs to mind. At one time Bolton certainly featured as something of a nemesis outfit. We do owe them big time but…….
Taking a long hard logical look at the fixture tomorrow with banana skins etc in mind, time for some much needed caution and gritting of teeth expecting a tight fought game with nothing to choose between the teams. So……
Wolves 6
Bolton 0
Take that McGinley ! Oh not playing well I will pretend he is.
I havnt forgotten 95 just moved in with ex girlfriend listened to game on radio yeah radio kids!! Was so gutted for a while punched a hole in a stud wall on staircase
Didn’t stay with the girlfriend for much longer luckily only renting so Bolton have always been a team I dislike
Going for a home win
I was thinking of a 6+ game but seeing how we slowed it down and replaced key players, I think Nuno will settle at 4. I can see a possible start for Costa and Vinagre this week. Might even venture a Bright start giving young Leo a bit of a rest
I get the same feeling as Marney now when watching the Wolves, even at 2-1 against Leeds no edgy about the team anymore (even though had lots of “mark em up” comments from behind me when Leeds attacked. Just feel so relaxed that we can and will sort out whatever is thrown at us.
Will it be close, will Bolton park the bus ?, No think we will be out to show our class over the 90 minutes so will go for
I too listened to the play off semi on my Cat’s Whisker Crystal set all those years ago and have not forgotten the lily livered referee’s bottling of the ‘chinning’ incident.
But, carrying a grudge after 22 years and all the water that’s passed under so many bridges in that time?
…. You bet your sweet bippy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No mercy must be shown until we’re at least four goals up.
Then we can relax, bring on a sub or two – Costa and Big Alf – and go for double figures!
Aaah “you bet your sweet bippy” haven’t heard that one in a while. I still get misty eyed when I hear a Rowan and Martin quote. Brings back memories of dazzling colour and access to BBC2 when my Dad grudgingly agreed to up the TV rental and get a new aerial. I had to stop saying stuff like “very interesting but stupid” years ago but I still remember the early pubescent rumblings created by Judy Carne.
Yes, and the lovely Goldie Hawn created a few rumblings too. Still does.
Dan Rowan: Dick, what does sadist mean?
Dick Rowan: Beats me!!
“Say goodnight Dick”.
Bolton have been my bogey team since they knocked us out of the FA Cup in both 1958 & 1959. We were the best team in the league then, and we are now. Thankfully, though, they don’t have Nat Lofthouse to barge our keeper into the net, so I’m going for a controlled victory for us.
If this score is ever going to happen why not this match
They will sit deep and hope for the best. I feel we will break them down eventually. Henry will try and kick us up in the air but he wont get a sniff.
Got a nassty feeling we’re going to be off our game and Bolton are going to be right up for it. So only:
One Saturday in February 1995 I was driving to a hospital in Kent to see my much loved Uncle Reg, one of my Dad’s older brothers. He was in a bad way. Always the favourite of my many Uncles, Uncle Reg was a maverick, a ladies man, a Charlton Athletic supporter, an amateur magician and a real larger than life character. He was also a decorated war hero – they don’t give away Distinguished Service Medals for nothing – and his party trick was being able to kiss his own bottom. Yes really! The trick was that he had been badly burned in the war and had skin grafts to repair the damage when they had taken skin from his backside to help repair his arm so him kissing his bottom involved him rolling up his shirt sleeve and kissing his forearm. Brilliant.
What has any of that got to do with Wolves v Bolton? Well as I drove home, upset at seeing my beloved Uncle so ill (indeed he passed away a few days later), I listened to the football on the radio and as the updates came in I got even more depressed. It finished that day Bolton 5 Wolves 1.
So Saturday is payback time. 5-1 to Nuno’s Barmy Army. 5-1 for my mate Clive. 5-1 for Uncle Reg.
For those partaking – Twixfix & Lillian, StuWolf & Jen, Exiled Wolf & Barbara, Newark Wolves, DOOGooder & Sue, Brompton – Mrs BW and I hope to get to The Mount about midday and then leave around 1.45pm by taxi/minibus (hopefully NOT driven by a country and western loving Rumanian!) for Molineux where we will hit the North Bank Bar to see Witley & Son, London Wolves Loyal etc. Then taxi/minibus back to the hotel after the game before The Queens Chinese Restaurant for 8pm and my ‘promised’ audience with Jeff Shi.
Oh and by the way I’d just like to take this opportunity to say that I think all Bolton players, officials and supporters are gorgeous, lovely people, lovely looking as well, real super-dooper types, Nat Lofthouse was the greatest ever English footballer with Bolton itself being like a modern day Shangri-La and all things Bolton or Bolton related are absolutely brilliant. You never know who’s reading this!
OODCL
We’ll see you in the North Bank Bar then mate.
Then later at the Restaurant.
Can’t wait to meet the lady who has put up with your little foibles for so long.
And can’t wait to meet Jeff Shi either.
So good of him to treat us all to a slap up meal.
I’ll have you know there is nothing little about my foibles!
p.s. if your foibles are little there are pills you can get nowadays to ‘boost’ them up a bit – or so I’ve heard.
p.p.s. I think it was Twixfix who told me.
Can I get some of those pills please ……. in fact lots of those pills please.
See you in NBB mate. Just ironed my drinking trousers.
I’ll echo that: looking forward to meeting Mrs BW tomorrow. Just realised BW are also the initials of tomorrow’s opponents so I’d best refrain.
And the initials of my blog name. See you and Barbie girl tomorrow mate.
Hah! How could I forget? Looking forward to it.
For all you statisticians out there!
Only five other Championship teams this century have earned 41 points or more from the opening 18 matches of the season.
Wolves did it in 2008 on their way to the title. Sheffield United, Reading (both 2005), Portsmouth (2002) and Fulham (2000) are the others. Every single team won promotion.
Interestingly, Wolves took until April 1 last season to win as many games (13) as they have already this term.
Whatever way you look at it, Wolves are currently on course to do something special this term.
The above is backed up by all the betting websites – BET365 current have us at 1/9 yes 1/9 to be promoted & 1/3 as Champions – Cardiff are second favourite at 9/1
Cum On Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Wolvessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I came across an old business colleague at an event last night. He’s a Charlton supporter. We swopped horror stories about Moxey’s past mismanagement and Charlton’s current and on-going mismanagement. I don’t know what was worse. At least they are in the playoffs in League One now and also for sale. They badly need a Fosun to come along. A venerable old club in dire need of restoration.
In the dim distant past of the Cullis era I remember one inexplicable result on the radio. Bolton Wanderers 6, Wolverhampton Wanderers 1. Could that be right? What happened? I’d like to say, time for revenge, 6-1 to us tomorrow. But, Bolton will sling the bus and the kitchen sink in front of goal and Karl the crab Henry will be snapping at heels when he’s not passing sideways and backways. Don’t know if we’re gelling enough for a 6-1 yet but that will come later in the season when we are well ahead of the pack. My usual 2-0 tomorrow.
After we get to 4 NUNO will put the subs on and we will only score another 2 .
Total and utter domination and annihilation.
I really dont know why they are bothering to come .
UP YOURS MCGINLEY
I was there that day and you really upset me so have this……
On current form it’s hard to predict anything other than a home win.
Karl Henry returns to Molineux and I hope he gets a decent reception. He was after all the last captain who lifted the championship trophy. Hopefully in May we’ll see Coady and Batth doing the same.
UTW
I agree with you about Karl Henry 100%. He always gave his all for the cause and did a very good job anchoring the centre of midfield for a fair few years – one of those players who got through a lot of unselfish work and was always there to tidy things up, qualities that go unnoticed with some supporters.
A bit like Dave Edwards then? Just saying lol
Did anyone hear the barmy army on Talk Sport this morning in Brisbane for the cricket, the wolves by barmy that is, giving it large with “we’re top of the league” and “Hi ho Wolverhampton” Fair brought a tear to my eye! How are they going to get back for kick off tomorrow?
A little restraint for the predictions tomorrow, therefore 2-0………………….
Nah bugger it……………….
Nothing but another win for me, but agree with most posters above, Nuno will call a halt at 3 maybe 4 and change things to play keep-ball so……..
UTW
I am not normally a person to hold a grudge but 1995 still rankles with me. McGinley was a thug who revelled in his thugishness and I have always hated him and Bolton since that night. Every visit to that poxy new ground has been awful – 10k home fans in a soulless shit hole on the edge of a shopping centre – no class, no heritage, no history, no fucking nothing!!!
Glad to get that rant off my chest!!!
OODCL
They can park the bus and they can even park the Reliant Robin alongside it but Del, Rodney, Grandad and all them other Trotters will still be going home with ‘nul points’.
We’ll win, we’ll get 3 points and thats really all that matters. I think Nuno will ring in a few changes to give the Neves, Jota et al a rest, Bright, Costa and Miranda to start, and we’ll still stuff them.
Nine days to our next game Amber, so I can’t see him resting anyone. And I think we were only exerting ourselves against Leeds with our goal celebrations. They can really take it out of you. 🙂
It’s amazing how the 95′ game haunts so many Wolves fans, me included. Remember watching the game on the big screen at Molineux and being devastated after. Even watching the highlights on Youtube make me shudder. Anyway the Nuno revolution continues, no-one can see past a home win.
Back in 87/88 after we were banned for the Scarborough riot (what a day that was) manfaged to get tickets for Burnden Park (bloke knew a bloke who knew a bloke etc). We were up in the stand on the side in the seats. Bolton fans thinking there were no Wolves in the ground singing ‘what’s it like to have no fans’. Suddenly the battle cry’fight fight wherever you may be we are the boys from the Black Country’ went up around the stand as around 150 wolves managed to beat the ban. Should have seen the startled looks of the Bolton fans. And we won I think by 2-1 and Bully scored! Happy days indeed. Win tomorrow
I don’t understand. Why can’t Nuno rest players during the week?
Because he does not want to. What is your point Timbo?
Well then people shouldn’t complain that there is not enough time between games. There is but Nuno chooses not to use that time wisely.
? Lest we forget…….
https://twitter.com/Wolves/status/934021516177694720/video/1?
Worth a look
The more that you watch game footage there is always something new to see, like the glancing on header from Bonatini to Jota for his goal. Jota didn’t need to alter his stride or speed to take it on. Almost a Doog quality about it. But the quality of his link up play is better than any forward I have ever seen at the Mol. Such a modern day footballer. He’s really a midfielder who can score goals.
Which brings me to a point I would consider for the future, due to his ever improving form, play Costa in his spot and drop him back into midfield perhaps at the expense of Saiss.
Oh the strength we have in our squad, it’s pure scary.
Look into my eyes Championship, look into my eyes.
Mark Davies was it? …cheating us for a penalty …….Grrrr!
I think we’ll win it
Can only see a straightforward win for our boys, if we could get past the bullyboy tactics of Leeds we have nothing to fear from anyone. Could be a massacre but will settle for 4-0. COYW.
( I am assured that this weeks ‘ Wolves Winner’ is wearing ‘Old Gold’ briefs)
They must be very brief.
Do you think they have the heating on too high at your workplace?
Should be a really fun game. Looking forward to it.
Having watched Bolton on the telly the other Friday night I would recommend taking an abacus to keep the score.
Really looking forward to this I like many others remembers that bloody play off and other various games against the so called Wanderers , we certainly owe them a good spanking.
Will be in the NBB from about 1.30 with Border Wolf and her hubby, hope to see a few of you in there.
Bolton are beginning to improve under Parkinson so I don’t think a win tomorrow is a given and I don’t think Nuno will either. Going to stick with my reliable 2-0
I’ll think they’ll play 15 across the back the same in midfield with 1 up top. I can see this just being a case of trying to break them down unless we can score early to draw them out. Neves hasn’t scored for a while so I’m backing him to find the corner of the net from 18 yards! a nice little finish in the 73rd minute
As someone above recalled … Uriah Ronnie ( or Heap) not giving us a penalty in the first minute against Bolton is one thing that comes to mind …. as well as Mcginleys cheating.
When asked why he didn’t give the pen …he said …” it was too early in the game” …. loff …. I wet meeself…!!!
Still these things have a habit of evening themselves up … so two pens tomorrow plus two goals for us to compensate us for McGinley and there you have it.
The Burnden Aces getting mullered…..
Twix,
The trotters need to have two (2) sent off as well then.
And if they do, I,ll still fekin hate John lardy-twat MucGinley
Won’t be surprised if there’s no
Score in first half.. but nuno’s half time pep
Talk and the substitution that brings on Costa will do the job
100 points has to be the minimum target
I’d be happy to see one or two changes in the starting lineup, but no doubt there will be the usual astute substitutions in the second half.
I can see Karl Henry getting sent off for a late tackle, he’ll be too slow for our speedy gonzales’s.
Nuno will be very keen to ensure another win and three points before the break, and I feel sure he’ll do it.
What break?………………………..
Just thinking the next match has been shifted to the Monday, hasn’t it ? Not really a break.
I think at the moment the question is how many will we score? I was worried at the start of the season with the lack of strikers but I’m happily proved wrong, it seems anyone in the team can hit the back of the net!
Looking forward to the match & a home win.
Hopefully the ex-player hoodoo is a thing of the past now, so we’ll run out comfortable winners.
I’ve noticed that there are a few copycats on here, jumping on the prediction bandwagon, trying to steal my patented 5-1 prediction.
This will not do.
My patent is good forever, at least until we have won the European Cup in two and a half years time, so in the words of someone famous sometime,
“Get Yer Own, Man!!”
Guilty as charged m’lud.
This could of course be a potential banana skin but……..I haven’t felt this confident for a long time. At the end of the day I’ll take 3 points no matter how we get them.
FOWB
A new word has wheedled its way into my Wolves vocabulary, “expectation”, and I don’t like it. It goes along with “complacency”, also Tim Spiers’ favourite word. I’m sorry, it’s making me feel very uncomfortable. After almost sixty years I’m more used to “hope” or “hard fought”, and it’s taking a lot of getting used to.
Oh sod it, we’re friggin brilliant and far better than the rest in this division, champions league in the waiting, the new messiahs… … no, just doesn’feel right.
Hope we can scrape a win. Karl Henry scored a screamer at the weekend, or was it Tuesday? Banana skins,
Ah, that’s better. And breathe.
Hope we win but if not it is only a game of football. Sorry for the negativity but had some shit news today and some things in life really are more important. See you guys tomorrow.
See you tomorrow buddy. Thanks for securing my seat at the Cantonese Chinky place. Hope the shit news is not too shit mate.
Sorry about your shit news mate.
Negativity accepted. Positive thoughts coming your way from me and she.
Bolton have it seems always been a thorn in our side it as Ben has said I also wouldn’t like to see them go to the wall there’s a lot of history there and we need to keep the leagues going.
As for the game yeah I can see them being party spoilers they’ve done it before so we need to be mentally tough and not look at this game as 3 points in the bag before we kick a ball.
I still think with the way Nuno prepares the team we will win but I don’t think it will be a landslide Bolton will up there gam like everyone else has.
Been down to the Big Somoke this week, left on Wendesday and got back this afternoon. Had it all sorted untill Sky TV fecked up my week and shifted our Tuesday night game so those tossers from leeds could have an extra days rest, some good it did them.
Anyway tommorrow is nearly here, think King Nuno will chance his arm with a bit of squad rotation, to keep it well and truly feet on the floor. There for just a little win.
Same place , same time NBB Bedders and co. Far Gough Sandwell Town right off to Wembley.
Yeah, Sean said you were in the smoke when I saw him in NBB on Wednesday mate. See you there too tomorrow.
We ought to stuff them.
Wolves to step deftly over this banana skin and bag another 3 pts.
It is all going well and this seasons ride is a great one to be on. I have previously stated that a blip is bound to happen at some point – or is it? If so, I cannot see it being tomorrow. The Wolves of old would have slipped on the banana skin, but can you really see the in depth quality of our players slipping on one. It has been said that at some point we are going to give someone a right spanking and we are winding upto that quite nicely. Can we get back to a clean sheet tomorrow; quite possibly. Can we take all 3 points; definately.
Could be a Clive, but I’ll go for a four!
They will park the bus, but an early goal will kill them off and then it will be a question of how many………..
To all those of you that are interested.
Tomorrow will be a doosie, if you care to go on the home ticket sales we can only have about 800 home tickets left at best. That will be 28,000+ home fans against a few trotters skulking in the upper quadrant of my beloved North bank. Now I don’t agree with that, but it is what it is, Lorry van Pimple has decided to put them there because they are one of those poorly supported teams and they can best be quietened up the corner like naughty schoolboys.
So the ground should be rocking, there will be a red hot atmosphere which will surely lift our team.
COMBambinos.
I’m giving Bolton a goal but think it’ll be one way traffic for pretty much the rest of the game.
After that fantastic victory against those dirty Leeds we must be oozing confidence now,so we should carry on where we left off Wednesday night.
I know after a great victory teams can slip up, but I think there’s to much quality in our squad to be concerned.
So UTW
With you on that, John.
Can’t see much, if any, rotation.
Leo to score.
COMBs!
Our games can not come around quick enough for me at the moment. For 30 minutes in the First Half against Leeds I sat there in stunned silence due to the level of football we where dishing out to poor old dirty Leeds. Disappointing to concede straight after half time and although the crowd got a bit tense I felt the team had the situation under control.
Bolton roll into town tomorrow on the back of improved results but they have only really been draws. Think they will obviously come and sit deep and be quite physical especially with a certain Mr Henry in the middle of the park. Another red card would not surprise me in this one.
Same team for me by Helder is certainly banging on the door now and his run down the wing in the 2nd half was a joy to watch but it speaks volumes that we cant really find him a starting place at the moment.
Comfortable win.
Hope Jeff doesn’t read this!
A woman was very distraught at the fact that she had not had a date or any sex in quite some time.
She was afraid that there might be something wrong with her, so she decided to employ the medical expertise of a sex therapist. Her doctor recommended that she go see Dr. Chang, the well known Chinese sex therapist, so she did.
Upon entering the examination room, Dr. Chang said, “OK, take off all you crose.”
The woman did as she was told.
Now, get down and craw reery reery fass to odder side of room.”
Again, the woman did as she was instructed.
Dr. Chang then said, “OK, now turn around and craw reery reery fass back to me.”
So she did.
Dr. Chang slowly shook his head and said, “Your probrem vewy bad. You haf Ed Zachary Disease,
worse case I ever see, dat why you not haf sex or dates. “ Confused, the woman asked, “Oh my God, Dr. Chang, what is Ed Zachary disease?”
Dr. Chang looked the woman in the eyes and replied, “Ed Zachary disease is when your face rook- wait for it!- Ed Zachary rike your arse.”
You old uns are the best.
Pirrock
Wolves 1 Man United 0. Remember, we were given absolutely no chance, no way would the mighty Reds not win at poor old Wolves.
Fast forward to present day, all the cricket score predictions concerning tomorrow’s game will hopefully come true but we will have to earn it. It’s a free hit for Bolton, no one is expecting them to get any kind of result so no pressure.
These games worry me, perhaps it’s a left over from times gone by but I feel more comfortable when we play the higher placed teams. Wins against teams fighting for their lives means more to me than beating our nearest rivals, it shows not only can we play our way out of the league, we can also fight our way out too. Sorry but I can’t get this feeling out of my head
Bolton haven’t got a Kenny Miller and Ronaldo was in a certain full backs pocket and I had a little flutter that day on one nil to to the Wolves. Happy day.
After Leeds I don’t think I’ve ever felt so confident in a Wolves team. This new feeling is slightly uncomfortable but I think I’m going to have to get used to it. This is not the Wolves of old this is new Wolves or perhaps Nuno Wolves would be more apt. So forget it Bolton you do your worse but you ain’t leaving with nothing but green grass on your boots and green envy in your eyes.
I emailed a Leeds supporter acquaintance of mine after Wednesday’s game and he said “I thought I might hear from you”
I am loving this. Pity I don’t know any Bolton supporters.
This could be a difficult game to get up for but in Nuno we trust.
Hiya Mosman …. I hope you’re shouting for us Poms down there …lol
So tempted to increase my normal prediction.
I had some dodgy ale just outside Bolton once. Right through me it went. Serves me right. Should gave stuck to the Chapel Ash medicine
Don’t remember many Bolton games other than standing on the open terrace Railway end on cold January afternoon for I think it was a cup game, we lost, fffing Nat Lofthouse. Always been a bit nervous of Bolton games since then, hopefully this game will help erase the memory of the defeat.
Hey Slider, us long standing fans have long memories and its natural to think the worst could happen. I just can’t see it this season though, Im sure Nuno will have the team up for this game, and we will have our lads driven on your superb fans. Same score as Wed, except cant see the trotters getting a corner let alone a goal.
The Bolton strategy will be to have 10 men in defence and hope to nick a draw.
Wolves attack will be too good for them but a tight game with few chances.
Thought I would report back on the Sham 69 gig at Wolves Slade rooms tonight. FUCKIN ACE. Angels with Dirty Faces. Hersham Boys. Borstal Breakout. Sorry for all non punks but what a fabulous night. All the ace tunes Kids are United etc. And support band some young kids from Bristol called Criminal Minds were fuckin brilliant. So much so I bought the CD for a fiver. Any way sorry to disturb the usual on the blog. Going home pissed and ready to put the Ashes on and see that twat Smith get out. Aussies all out 250 and a Gabba buming on the cards I reckon. Do you need to have a moustache to be and be an Aussie? Fuckin looks like it. TwatJs are trying to Intimate us by looking like Mitchell Johnson. Well I am more scared by looking at the Soup Dragon off The Clangers. Enjoy.
Your right Mark, even if we glitch Nuno’s program is set to pick itself right back up and march to the finishing line. We would have to lose at least 3 big players to disturb us and even then the deputies, as we saw in the cup, are very capable. Talking of which, I can’t wait for the FA Cup, just to see more of us and see what we can do. I bet I’m not alone in that, what a sea change when we can only see opportunity instead of fear and distraction.
Here we go again.
Shock and awe
100 goals 100 points
The diplomatic word for this article is ‘debatable’
Slating our club, and under the sub-heading “You play with fire, you’re going to get burned”!
You may feel compelled to singe the fingers of this keyboard whinge artist
https://lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/2017/11/24/16693896/opinion-wolves-have-sold-their-soul-to-jorge-mendes-their-very-own-superagent73
Yeh, I read that. Bloke is a knob
And he cor spell ‘Molineux’. Donkey!
Not long back from seeing Sham 69 at the Slades Rooms…….fucking brilliant I witnessed Social History wether you like them, wether you remember them or even if you’ve never heard of them…….they are still relevant probably even more so today.
Britain is still in need of Sham 69 fugu king brilliant performance Jimmy….!
Keep the good times rolling
Despite by now getting used to an overwhelming feeling of confidence in Nuno and the team, Bolton are the one team which leaves me with a little voice that says “You never know”. I have very mixed memories from down the years – in the 50s watching us dominate a cup game we lost 1-2, doing everything but score while Hopkinson made saves with every part of his body including the back of his head while lying on the ground – watching Nat Lofthouse become the only one to save a penalty from Harry Hooper when he went in goal after Joe Dean was injured (no subs then) – but also seeing NL throw a snowball at the ref in a match on the snow-covered Mol pitch. Plus of course all those mentioned by others above.
So I feel that anything could happen this time and, while I’d dearly love to see a cricket score win I’m going for a draw this time …. just because its Bolton.
Sleachers
That twat who wrote that article is so green with envy he could be a fucking sprout!
He did not even have the brain to spell Molineux correctly.
What an absolute wanker, and really, what was the point of the article?
Trying to wind us up?
Maybe we should collectively reject Jeff and Fosun and Nuno and the best fuckin’ football seen down the Mol in two generations?
Put them in our place and it would be a gift horse of a different coloured bush in both hands, methinks.
Northern tit.
I paid me fiver, cor wait till 9.00 in the morning, Wonderful Marla has promised to cook me a full monty, I got carpenters, painters and electricians due in the morning, mid December move back in( sans kitchen, but who cares)
All is well with the world.
Really wish I was going to be with you fellow bloggers for a nosh up tomorrow after the game, please look after Mrs Bedders, she is a special lady.
Love to y’all from Texas
Fowb
So Marla is cooking your brekker in the nuddy Eh?
“Full Monty? Nudge nudge, wink wink. Know what I mean?”.
Tell her to watch out for the hot fat splashes when she puts the sausage in!
“Oooh! Matron!”.
Very glad to hear that you’ll be getting back in where you belong before Christmas.
“Getting back in? Know what I mean?”
Enough of this rather sad innuendo. I’m off for MY breakfast.
And for all you craft beer afficianados, I am currently quoffing Stone Delicious IPA, brewed in Escondido, California, which is a “citrusy India Pale Ale with lemondrop and eldorado hops”.
And quite potent!!
Feeling no pain!!
Another game comes fast on the heels of some quite outstanding football against Leeds on Wednesday. I watched the replay of the match on Wolves TV and was suitably impressed with our display. Hang on though. I find myself demanding more from our boys, we should have, and could have, been more clinical against Leeds, we should have finished them off a before half time, we should have scored more goals….we should have……we could have……..
I am now demanding that we do to Notlob what we should have done to Leeds.
We should have and we could have must now be changed to we did and we did it so well.
Bolton will be wandering alright ! , wandering how we got so flipping good !!!
Portuhampton 3
The real wankies 1
Oh and by the way ….. Alan fucking Pardew . Ha ha ha ha ha
Fantastic appointment that’s going to be
An Albion haters dream . You’ll be bankrupt as well as relegated
In case any of you losers are reading this … all of the stuff you are coming out with about feeling pride when Megson leads an Albion side out at Wembley is making you a laughingstock in the south
It’s spurs away !!! Get a grip
Ha ha ha…nice one. I wonder if Smegson will get his old wedding suit out and pinch a carnation out the local florists to ‘lead’ that bunch of tossers out at wemberlee….
Clive – feeling no pain or feeling no paint? It’s only you said you had the painters in.
Bedders
Looking forward to the fumes!!!
Don’t want to temp fate or anything but ………we relieve Tony Daley of his fitness coach’s role and, Boly’s hamstring aside, we have been virtually injury free all season. Coincidence?
Good spot a Bedders … And it’s virtually the same XI week after week… so you’d expect overuse injuries being blurbed out under the old regime…
As you say … not to tempt fate …but we’ve been relatively injury free so far …..
Tony Daley could pull a hamstring getting out of bed.
Unfitness coach.
To the Bolton fan who wrote the article on the Fire Brigade, I say this, “Sunderland play Burton Albion today, whilst you play Wolverhampton (the true Wanderers)”.
So, by 5pm today you may well be the strongest team in the league, holding the rest of us up, So you may not be so fecking smug then.
I only know one bloke from Bolton, Amir Kahn, and if he’s an example of Bolton men, what a bunch of wet lettuce the rest of you must be. World Champion boxer screaming like a baby at heavily sedated snakes, spiders and cockroaches on “I’m a Bolton fan get me outta here”
As Clive from Preston would say, “he who laughs first, hot the joke the quickest”.
Get a life you numpty
COYW’s
Stu,
I bet he’s proper fekin smug now – TWAT
LMFAABATO
I fekin love my life…….
🙂
These days it is difficult to predict anything but a win, it will surely happen, hopefully not today. After Wednesdays emphatic win, am expecting a narrower, more hard fought win.
Gorgeously sunny weather outside in my part of Bulgaria. In couple of hours we’re visiting a non-league game in a nearby village, then back home to watching another Wolves win. Let the beers flow!!!
In case anybody is spending even a mega second considering if there is a microbe of content worth considering just remember the following.
1. 1995 – how promotion was achieved.
2. Over the years they have gradually sacrificed aspects of their ground losing any links to their traditional roots. Even before moving to the soulless breeze block and plastic dump they now call home, they had already given up half a stand to accommodate a factory wall.
3. All of the subsequent wonder years in the prem when Big Sam was pulling in continental stars to achieve entry into European competition was funded by what was subsequently shown to be a completely unsustainable financial model.
4. But, oblivious to their dire financial circumstances and pitiful attendance figures even in the prem, their chairman (and surely hero of Moxey) was convinced that the club was in it’s rightful place. Determined to preserve their status at any ethical cost Mr Gartside proposed social engineering of an unbelievable nature Read for yourself and ask yourself if there is any club in the country less entitled to warn of the dangers inherent in tinkering with traditional management of your football club. Oh and you are also entitled a wry smile at the irony of their current plight.

(Sorry don’t know how to make link in this format)
This should have been following Sleachy’s link to the lion of Vienne blog. Technical disaster darling brought about by dabbling beyond capabilities. Sorry, I have learned my lesson, back to basics.
Anyway win today.
Looking for more of the same after Wednesday. We’re really looking like a premiership side now.
This will be tighter than you think
We tend to forget this stuff as fans….
Always nice scoring a goal but to have my pops there was a very special moment ???????? 83 yrs old and still making the journey to come see me play, if it wasn’t for the sacrifices of him and my mum I wouldn’t be were I am today ?????? pic.twitter.com/r3rtCQoNyX

Let the good times keep coming.
COYW
Bogey team stops 5th successive win with old boys Henry and Little starring; Le Fondre brace in the last 10….
Ha, you got that completlely wrong. Numpty.
I agree stu , lovely tweet from a lad about his grandad , something’s worth more than football
Clive!! At last???
Stop scoring!!!!!!
WE DONE A CLIVE!!!!!!
Well done Clive.
About bloody time — Even a broken clock is right twice a day 🙂
Thanks Clive! Only my second correct score this season.
FIVE FOR CLIVE!
Dear God. I fear that immigrant fellow is going to be unbearable for the next little while.
Now that I think of it, he’s unbearable most of the time so I guess I can handle it.
I are an emigrant from there, higoramoose!
You are an immigrant to N.A., where I live. You are both an immigrant and an emigrant, but from our N.A. perspective, you are an immigrant.
By the way, thanks for taking Verlander’s contract off of the Tigers’ payroll. And good to see the back-end of his fiance.
Match ball for Clive. I’m starting a petition, every 5-1 win Clive gets another ball. Mind you he might have to stick with the pair he’s got already.
Two milestones from today’s win.
There goes the November hoodoo.
And, with 44 points, we’re safe from relegation.. ha ha.
Looks like we won’t be signing Messi this summer.
Tim.
I do believe there’s skull buggery afoot, they have tied him to a long contract with a huge buy out clause so we have to pay through the snout next season, who cares, Fosun are behind us.
£636 million buy out clause, they know we want him.
What’s worse is Nuno gets an automatic one match ban for that red.
We scored more without Nuno. Maybe the players relaxed a bit.
I’m seeing a pattern, albeit it’s just one game.
Congrats Clive. Made my smile even wider knowing you’ve scored a max in the prediction league.
5-1 was 50 -1 with Paddy Power, I wonder how many of us decided this was going to be the day for Clive’s prediction to come up trumps.
Yes Clive !! God knows how many people thought of you when the 5 th went in
I think Thomas once told me about 3 thousand regularly read the blog .. about 7 thousand a month I think
So glad to hear that your home is getting some where near repair
And I’m glad your score went in , but don’t you fucking dare Finnish above me again !
Lol
All the best mate
We’ve got a Clive
A proper fekin Clive
I just don’t think you understand
He’s no-bodys man, drinks beer from a can
We’ve got a proper fekin Clive
Well done Clive you ode mucka, great new on your home, great football from your team, surely I can’t get much better?
Beer from a can. He’s an ale man. So some type of IPA? From a glass would be my guess.
Great prediction Clive.
sbot,
bottle didn’t fit!
I allways thought Clive Mr tounge in cheek
dream on but in this extraordinary era we actually did it…
Do we even need a striker now in January
incidentally?
Just watched the highlights, played some pretty stuff again and in the end ran out comfortable and deserving winners. I tell you a funny thing though, why do I still think when teams pull a goal back against us, re last Wednesday and today, that we will do what we used to do and end up drawing or losing ? I suppose it’s because we had years doing that and cannot get used to the fact that we have now got a team of fighters who will not capitulate and can perform at a high level consistently. I hope this is the case and not that I have dreamt it all.
Can’t get enough of all things Wolves at the minute.
Just watched “sport on 5”
Micky Gray on the show – one of the best quotes this season so far from him
“Wolves are the Man City of the Chumpionship”
To fekin right we are!
Say we are top of the league.
COMB WAW FOwb
Rick Rack
Whoever this Micky Gray is, he got it wrong.
Man City are the Wolves of the Premiership!
Nice one Clive!!
About bloody time!
🙂
Is Marcos Llorente any good? Apparently he will be available from Real Madrid in the summer.
He’s OK Tim, but if he ain’t good enough for Real Madrid, I can’t see a future for him here. 🙂
But Zidane is not Esprito Santo.
And just when I thought Clive is fixing the ceiling he’s been fixing football results. Bloody disgusting, ain’t it?
This Wolves team is ace!
With 44 points I think we’re safe from relegation this season.
I am amazed how many Australians are called Mitchell. If I was Australian I would like to be called Trevor.
