After we beat Blackpool prior to Christmas I foolishly thought things would get better.

Yes, Wolves were lucky to get the win, but the result made it 9 points from 12, with two favourable home fixtures to come.
Limp to January and sort it out, I hoped.
Well, we haven’t won since. The 4 consecutive defeats that followed were enough to account for Ståle Solbakken and Dean Saunders has yet to arrest the slide.
Two scruffy draws mean the Welshman remains undefeated, but the mood around Molineux remains downcast.
Blackpool too are struggling.
The Tangerines haven’t won either since that pre-Christmas dust up and Michael Appleton’s shock departure has left them managerless.
Funny to think then that the last time this fixture was contested was in the Premier League.
Wolves
I wasn’t upset by the result at Hillsborough, but the performance was dire and we should have been beaten.
Saunders deployed the same passive, non-midfield we saw against Blackburn. We’ve got players sitting on the sidelines who can do better and create more. He needs to be braver and use them.
It’s understandable that he wants to shut the back door, but the side needs some balance and we need to be more adventurous at home. Something like:

I’d like to see what the Sigurdarson/Ebanks-Blake partnership could do with some forward thinking midfielders to supply them.
Blake has been pulverised and written-off this season, but he’s a finisher in a team that never gives him service. His all-round game has always been poor.
I find stories that Zubar could be sold strange, given that the new manager obviously identified him as an important player. We should keep him for the remainder of the season because for all his gaffes, he brings pace and athleticism, two commodities we’re desperately short on.
Predictions
14 people correctly predicted a draw after I pointed out that ‘hardly anyone predicts a draw’ in the Sheffield Wednesday preview.
So well done to all of you. Nobody said 0-0 though, so it’s singles all round.
I suspect Saunders will field a similarly negative team for the third consecutive game.
And based on that logic, I think we might get found out against a Blackpool team with some decent attacking talent.
2-1 loss I’m afraid.
Hope I’m wrong about the team and the result.
Up The Wolves.

I’m going for a second successive, uninspired 0-0.
We need to abandon the ultra defensive play quickly. It’s clear that Deano’s spotted our biggest glaring flaw in the defence and is heavily compensating.
I’ve thought long and hard about how to describe our performance at hilsborough.
“A Clogged Toilet” is the best metaphor I could come up with. Full of sh*t and absolutely nothing was flowing…
The team Thomas outlined HAS to be the starting line up. No questions. I can only hope Sigurdarson has been sidelined due to injuries and not that Deano doesn’t consider him good enough as he’s clearly got a bit of talent and the pace we’re lacking up front at the moment.
O’Hara starting is the biggest no brainer of all time. If he doesn’t want to abandon the Henry-Davis partnership I’d definitely go 4-5-1 with O’Hara sitting in front of them. If he doesn’t start I’ll storm down to compton myself from here.
And lastly. No foley at RM. This is the most important point by far. We completely Neuter ourselves down that wing by playing him there. He has absolutely no attacking intent.
Playing attacking? I’m going with a wolves win. 2-1.
If we play Ultra-defensive we’ll only get us a point like before.
I have a tenner on for a win so I will stick with that. We all could do with a lift, I haven’t felt so low about wolves for years. Zubar is a no for me, worries me to death. Need to bring in a left and right back over the window but I do like the look of the rest of your side. I’d have siggy up front on his own, with o’hara in front of Davies and Henry.
Wolves 2 Blackpool 0 (Siggy both goals)
3-1 for wolves and no im not joking
For me this is a major directional game. I suspect Dean is going to go dour on us again relying on keeping a clean sheet and banking on a lucky goal somewhere.
It could be our undoing, they definitley have guys who on there day could undo us, but they seem a bit lost at the moment to.
2-1 to Wolves
my line up would be with the players we have got 4-4-2 ikeme zubar johnson batth ward (dont like but nobody else to play there) hammill henry ohara pezscho siggy & sako
I agree with only playing a team with more than just months left on their contracts .
Everyone out of contract in the summer will either be sold now or released then . A place on the bench the best hope for any of them .
I really hope DS.gives siggy a chance . Along with sako l feel he is our only goal scoring threat . I’m trying to be optimistic about ‘get rid’ friday !! Let’s hope we have moved some dead wood soon ..l fancy a bit more attacking intent from deano on sat – to try and get the fans onside . Let’s get behind the team , cheer them on , be a twelfth man once again !!
Wolves 2 Blackpool 0 .
another draw, but 1-1.
DS has stated tomorrow is D-Day … lets hope there are troops arriving as well as leaving.
UTW
Sorry Ad Mant but don’t hold your breath. Some recent quotes about or attributed to DS in the E&S relating to bringing in players this January.
Manager Dean Saunders today vowed to give Wolves’ faltering team the chance to cure their losing mentality.
“The longer we can leave it the better . . . . . .
“What I don’t want to do is panic buy . . . . . . and the clincher –
“If they play like they can play we won’t have to sign any players.
“I spoke to Jez again yesterday morning about the playing staff. The chairman wants me to get the wage bill down. I’ve got one eye on that and one eye on making us a better team”
“The new Molineux boss was set to wait until the very end of the month before deciding who stays and who leaves Molineux in the winter transfer window”.
Doesn’t this remind you of the problems Staale in the summer window by Moxey leaving things too late? Its another way of saying little will be coming in and its Moxey who is working the puppet.
We’ve been linked to Jason Scotland who is a free agent, a striker at Walsall who is out of contract soon. We’ve also been linked with a couple of youngsters from Carlisle and one from Coventry. Is this really the sum total of our ambition?
Steppenwolfe, my gut feeling is the same as yours… As with everyone though we need to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think what Clive states below is much closer to the truth than any of us would like to accept, but I would still like to wait until DS and SM officially present their intentions before I get the bile out.
I Live in London and try to get to games when I can but I have written off any intention to attend another match, buy a shirt, subscription, whatever, until I see some commitment from SM.
If my (and your) concerns materlialise then I have travelled to my last Wolves game for the foreseeable future. I am not prepared to hand over 90% of my match fee to bolster Morgans personal fortune, and I dont think anyone else should either.
tick tock.
3 games, three draws…1-1.
Well lets hope Blackpool sell young Ince before Saturday, then whoever plays left back won`t have such a dreadful time as in the game at Bloomfield Road. I suppose if we get Warnock on loan – glory be a proper left back – then it negates Ince` s presence if he`s still there.
As for the rsult, well we still are too close to the relegation spots and need points. So for me I`ll go for another 1-1 draw. Hardly inspiring stuff, but we are in the shite, and not losing would be big bonus.
We’ve got to win at sometime.
Wolves 2 Blackpool 1
Having drawn ugly think we might just win ugly 2-1. Cant see much to lift the gloom on the horizon looks like Morgan has given up on a quick return to the Prem and the ‘treasure chest’ is probably now buried somewhere in rural Cheshire.
2-1.
Wolves 1 Blackpool 1
All the wonderful talk about “The January window” and who might be coming or going is just pie in the sky bollocks.
Everyone is asking basically the same question, what are the plans to improve/turn around/ etc, etc, etc the football club’s fortunes?
And there lies the whole crux of the matter.
There are none, and there never were.
Morgan is 100% behind every dastardly move.
Lets face it, if he didnt like the way greasel slithers and slimes his way around everything, he would be gone. He wouldnt get paid 1.3 million if he wasnt sitting, panting at his masters feet, eager to please his every whim, and be the whipping boy in front of the press and the fans.
No, Morgan has had a plan from day one, and it never involved the footballing side of Wolverhampton Wanderers, only the cash cow side.
He has been milking the “asset” for all he can, and will continue to do so as long as anyone is stupid enough to inject cash into it, in every form possible, turnstiles, pies, advertizing, museum, you name it he’ll milk it.
This is the indisputable fact that we must all get our heads around.
HE DOESNT CARE.
He’s not interested in seeing us play good football, winning games and getting promoted, he’s got his sticky fingers on all that tv and parachute money, why should he spend it?
No, Morgan is responsible, and there is no way in hell he will sell such a money machine until its completely dried up.
The only two ways out of the shit we are in are to be relegated twice more in succession, so there will be no fans in the doors, or if he has a sudden, mysterious “illness”.
Until then, his puppets will do as they are told, and we are going nowhere.
Prediction?
Same old shit players, same old shit performances, same old shit result, and to be honest, I cannot be bothered to even predict a score.
He doesnt care, why should I?
I’ve only supported them for 55 years.
Blimey Clive .. thats a wikipedia of Morgan from whence he snatched WWFC from Sir Jack for a tenner .. probably worth £3.86 allowing for inflation.
ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON MATE.
This prat has no interest in this club apart from the cash cow that we are, and Oh dont believe Bully either after yesterday web cam day that he will get us back to the premiership. What a load of Tosh. The only place wer’e headed is the wilderness.
If anyone thinks that it’s not true check out where we were when Morgan arrived and the entertainment we provided and where we are now. …Going backwards fast. (Even allowing for our Prem Yrs).
I suppose it’s not Moxey’s fault that our wage bill is too high though !! AFTER ALL HE DOES SANCTION ALL OF THE INCOMINGS. Strange how quiet he is .. must have fucked something up.
id like to dissagree clivey but cant . cant say anything else ……
Deano certainly talks the talk but at the moment the team he puts out doesn’t match that talk. I suspect another difficult to beat formation will be sent out and a draw would end up looking like a good result. I’m going for a Blackpool win but still feel that we could win it if we sent out an attack minded midfield with Doyle sat on the bench.
Wolves 0 – 2 Blackpool.
If we can get in one striker which can score goals, which is strong in the box, our team would get the necessary boost to advance on the table. Doyle and Siggy is the best option we have now. Doyle flicks, Sigurdarson runs and scores.
O’Hara could also play along side Siggy. That would be an exciting option. Boukari is also an option.
1-0 victory to wolves
I would not disagree, anything that gives us attacking options is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately at the moment Deano seems more concerned with protecting the back four. There has to be something in the old theory that attack is the best form of defence.
Got to disagree with you, Thomas, that
‘… the manager … identified him (Zubar ) as an important player’.
For me, he’s putting Zubar in the shop-window to see what attention he attracts as he’s one of the few we might get a reasonable fee for.
spot on Clive 53 years for me and never have I felt so down-hearted. My kids look at me every Sunday morning glad that I hadn’t topped myself after the previous day’s travesty. Collectively I’m sure we could do a better job than these money-munching muppets. Truly Houston “we have a problem”
I don’t know why, but I think we might win.
Wolves 2-1 Blackpool
Me too, ” things can only get better……”
Not for me the negative, pessimistic approach of so many of my fellow wulfs. Whilst accepting most of the criticisms put forward, closing the back door comes first. Fancy football can wait. We’re in a bitter dogfight with survival at stake and unfortunately some of the crew don’t have the stomach for the scraps to come. Let DS get to the root cause of this attitude. Wins are a bonus to our problems but there’s more chance of one at home than away. WW 2- Tangerines 1. As ever UTW..!!!!
I am looking forward to the summer . With no Wolves matches in June and July
This season has gone.
But I hope Deno have sorted it out before August.
Maybe a fresh start in August is all we can hope for.
But a 3-1 win on Saturday will do fine. 😉
This is difficult. IF we bolster squad could see a win, BUT
A draw for me.
Wolves 1 Seasiders 1.
Wolves 1 donkey botherers 0
MOXEY OUT! MOXEY OUT! MOXEY OUT! MOXEY OUT! MOXEY OUT! MOXEY OUT!
The sooner we get rid of fat Jez, the sooner we become a decent team. Ask any Sjoke City supporter. Sjoke have come on leaps and bounds since the greasel left. He is the issue, nothing more nothing less!
On a more positive note
Wolves 3 – 1 Blackpool
Six or seven years ago, on BBC 606, I used to come across from time to time a poster who was a Stoke fan.
He was clearly a genuine football fan, made good points, and very knowledgeable.
He seriously maintained then that getting rid of Moxey was the best thing Stoke ever did, and insisted that Wolves would seriously regret his appointment.
I would imagine Moxey is very comfortable, thank you very much, with his remuneration and routine and, aged 50 (?), is hardly going to voluntarily look for new pastures and challenges.
Agree. my uncle is a Stoke fan and said as soon as we hired Moxey that we would never progress. He can’t believe that we still employ him!
He is adamant that if Moxey was still at Stoke they would not be anywhere near as successful as they have been in recent years.
After the last match I observed that successive managers have sought to address our defensive frailties by playing a cripplingly defensive midfield in front of them instead of addressing the problem head on. Today it’s reported Deano has indeed woken up and smelled the coffee: “You can play people who are a bit more ‘loose’ if your back four is right, but I have got to get our back four right first”. Hallelujah! A new left-back, right-back and cenre-back please. Well, the clock is ticking so we’ll have to see what happens happens on that front. Will this January’s captures manage to make the same kind of transformational impact we’ve seen from Eggert Jonsson and Leigh Griffiths?
In the meantime, this particular tie has 0-0 written all over it. Got to hope O’Hara starts or the natives will certainly get restless. No honeymoon period for this manager if the Molineux has to witness another 90 minutes of toothless stalemate.
I’m with Hamlet, Saunders will keep his 100% record. Of draws that is, 1-1.
Totally depends what team plays for me, bring in Pesko, O’Hara and Siggy and we can beat em 2 or 3 – 1, however play the way we did last week and we can lose by the same score…unfortunately thats what i am going for..,
Wolves 1 – 3 Blackpool
UTW
Put your pants on for god’s sake!
Haha Martin, do you like the pic, found it on Google, it’s the legend himself, with the full Led Zep on show as well!!…loved the fact he is wearing what look like Speedo’s and a classic shirt for a kick around.
Yeah i know it’s great isn’t it. THE greatest rock band of all time and he’s Wolves to the core! Love it.
i wish hed buy back the club off ginger pubes
Another draw I reckon, 1-1. And 2 points for half the people on here by the look of it!
Prais the lord and pass the free transfer papers! Wolves 1- Blackpool 2.
Well need luck to get anything out of this game. As it is I see a Blackpool win 2-0
I think sat will be D day for the progress that has been made under Saunders. Unfortunately it’s going to bring a 0-2 to Blackpool and heap more pressure om the two MM’s. Maybe there may be a bit more time lefyt in the window agfterwards to sign someone , anyone please .. cant cope much longer..
I agree with Thomas, Saunders needs to be bolder with the team selection, no Doyle or Foley, bring in OHara and Zubar, Sigy and Ebanks up front.
However I dont agree with the score, 1-0 to the Wolves.
Come on me babies
2-0 win to lift the January gloom.
MAKE OR BREAK on Saturday. A win along with two draws looks a good start but defeat will pile the pressure on the team and club. DS needs to be brave, turn the Wolves loose and let’s see what happens. They are lacking in confidence, lets not give them any.
Wolves win 3-0 (please Lord)
I think it is time for our first defeat under Saunders. Honeymoon over, and plan “unambitious managerial appointment part 3” about to kick in.
Wolves 0 – 2 Blackpool
Deano said its the last chance for the player’s.
Well we’el see if he’s a man of his word.
The only way to treat these so called player’s is to drop them completely..
Put the the bench warmers on and the kids and i bet they get a better reaction from the fans either way at least the fans would see he’s a man of his word.UTW.
Sorry to say but its a 1-1 draw for me…Unless he picks my team.
Ikeme.Zubar.Johnson.Bhatt.Ward.
Hammill ( Dumbia if fit) O’hara Sako.”hows that for an attacking midfield”.
Siggy Cassidy
Time to see this Wkend as to Who picks the team ???? ……… Remember , just a few months back …..SS revolution started well , bringing in some new exciting faces , then moving players in and out ,and getting results . There was a lot of hope .
Then it started to go pair shaped after a few injuries ,and the other players stopped performing . SS hands were tied , he had to play the internationals and out of contract players ,because according to M&M theyre worth more if they play every week …LOL.
Hopefully the team above will be picked ,(minus SEB) put CASSIDY AND SIGGY UPFRONT , 2 kids who want to do well . …….Keep SEB and Doyle away from the kids …..
ITS NOT ABOUT BEING BRAVE …….ITS ABOUT BEING STUPID ………
ITS OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE CONCERNED , THE ABOVE TEAM WITH CASSIDY IN FOR SEB IS THE MOST LOGICAL CHOICE < MOST EXCITING CHOICE …….RATHER LOOSE WITH THIS TEAM TRYING , THAN THE OTHERS ….NOT .
DS ….STUPID OR NOT??????
A mix of lower case with your strong liking for the upper would make your point better .
I let loose myself once , never again !!
Agree with the Cassidy option though , alonside Siggy …perhaps a good future pairing…
UTW
I must say that I was very dissapointed when I listened to Bully on the live web chat this week. He seemed to be towing the 2 m’s line. When asked about moxey and morgan his reply was that they are 100% focused on the job of improving wolves and getting them back to th PL. Thought Ward was a good player, and likened him to Andy Thompson!!!!! Doyle he thought is a great forward who is just lacking confidence!! Love Bully, but very unhappy with his evaluation of whats going on at wolves.
Tbf to him he’s got to pay the bills.
Slagging off the club would seriously dent his income.
Sad but true 🙁
Yes, they pay his wages.
Remember he had that notorious Moxey mouthpiece Martin Swain at his side…..
well noted scooped and as ever .. eloquently put ..
Twixxy baby, dont forget the love hugs on Sat.
Clivey baby .. scooped has rang to say he might not be there coz he has man flu.. i’ve warned him a hug is on it’s way tho’ so if he’s there he gets it.
Oh .. shall I give Moxey a hug too?
If anyone believes anything that comes off the official sanitized site, then I have some prime ocean – front property in Arizona to sell you.
That site should be registered as a political party, since no one flaunts the party line or rocks the boat.
Every one officially associated with the club, with the exception of course of us fans, has to toe the line or risk being totally ostracized, or dropped, as the case may be.
Sandie Shaw had it right in 1967 ( there’s a Google moment for you! )
The old old adage is true. Never believe what you read in the papers………….or what you hear on “official” sites.
OK who did we buy? Oh no one! Big surprise.
Who did we sell? mmm
None of our managers are to be blamed for the surplus of players, one person and one person alone is responsible for that mess Mr Moxey.
Agree with Clive its time for Morgan to stand up and do something other than stuff his pockets.
We can see all the announcements being written , bad market, no time, couldnt get it done.
Its onvious Dean is getting the usual treatment he knows he needs players but simply is not allowed. Bite the bullet and clean house.
Disagree with Thomas re predicting the defensive line-up – I think we will try to be more positive (O’Hara to start…)
Agree with Thomas re the result – Wolves 1 – Blackpool 2
I couldn’t be more wrong if I tried. Here’s hoping.
Wolves Licked 0 Blackpool Rock 4
My team:- ikeme zubar batth Johnson ward hammill Davis Henry sako Ohara sigurdarsson
Pace, creativity, UNPREDICABILITY and flair on the wings.
Compact solid midfield with even more creativity in Ohara and with siggy up top causing all kinds of problems for blackpools pretty dire back four.
However I think that DS will play the same team as previous 2 games and it’ll be boring. 1-1
Weekend kicking in early got silly feeling maybe Deano and Wolves will go on a little run because fortune never predictable and none expecting it.
The players will be cranking through the gears again as they, or at least the McCarthyites, rediscover the joy of passing forwards rather than sideways. We have to play to our strengths, and it is sad but that is not playing like Barcelona or even Swansea. We have to play like the Wolves that got promotion under McCarthy, because the fact is that was the style that most of the players achieved success with. In the obvious absence of much needed spending from Morgan, there is no other way with the current set of players. Onwards and upwards, come on you Wolves!
Wolves 1 Blackpool 2
1-1 draw, will feel like a loss, we’ll play better (create more chances) but the long term outlook is bleak
Just like the reverse fixture, we’ll play absolute rubbish and somehow scrape a narrow win …
Wolves 1-0 Blackpool
For some odd reason i feel that we will win with a good performance. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a good attacking line up. Eh, we can only hope!
Wolves: 2 – Blackpool: 0
UTW!
Although ive gone for a win, im in a bit of a dilema. As saunders saud, this is d-day, last chance saloon etc, if we win in any fashion, very little will change in terms if bringing in new players. Yiu can just hear the soundbites, from pieman, “saunders has transformed the squad”, we have good quality, etc. If we lose, then wolves lose 3 desperately needed points. By just writing this, i hope we lose for the long term good of
the squad. Hopefully we play realky shit, and we get rid of the long term shower of shite players. Get rid of 4-5 first teamers, not fringe squad players that we have never heard of. This will shake the club up and show saunders means business.
Been thinking the same thing. The overwhelming majority of us are hoping for a home win but that will do us few favours long term as it will just paper over the cracks temporarily. Should we win there will be cries of “Hallelujah, we are saved” and “There’s no need to bring new players in”, from Jez. Maybe a 0 -6 stuffing would do us more favours long term. A strange old game to be sure – especially with the window about to close in a week.
Wolves 1-2 Blackpool
Downhill from here…
Yes, I agree that it is time for Doyle to be left out (and sold for me).
Want to see O’hara start, but wish Berra would be left out – simply too slow and too many fouls.
Optimistic that DS will turn things around. Have no faith in the Board spending any significant money which is needed. War Chest – what a wind up that was!
Wolves 2 Blackpool 1
UTW
Hey listen, Blackpool can attack for fun, so why anyone would what Zubar anywhere near Molineux on Saturday afternoon is beyond me. Foley has been playing well, but he is a country mile ahead of Zubar in his overall quality as a RB. Secondly, there is no way that Saunders is going to feel this current batch are strong enough to play with only one defensive midfielder and although I would love to see a Wolves do that, we currently need new players in order to do it. I would stick with Henry/Davies + O’Hara + Sako. Finally, I feel most Wolves fans chanting for ‘The Sig’ are doing so with some drug induced view that he will suddenly light up Molineux with his ability – he won’t! Stick with Doyle & SEB (especially at home) until we have some new blood in (soon I hope). Forever Old Gold. Wolves 1-0.
If Moxey is so smart, how come we told the whole world that we must sell players before we buy. Not that they will be queing up for them, but everyone will just out wait us and no one is going to want to pay even a fair price.
We would all like to hear from the board regarding plans and ideas but if he is such a smart business man (which he aint) Please think before engaging mouth.
The fact is we are not in too bad a shape PROVIDED we had a good guy running us. As it stands with this twerp we are in a real bad way and I can not see him capable of doing the right things for us. It can only get worse.
Decisions on players must be substantially made based on their contribution to the team, not on Pounds. I am not saying it doesnt matter but look what happens when its all based on money. You end up with 50 players on the books but not 11 of them can put us near the top of the second tier. Mr Moxey you hhave failed, times up.
DS is attempting to bring confidence back to the team, not losing the last 2 games will have helped. For those who think he is going to go gung-ho-all-out-attack are living in cloud cuckoo land. He will put out a defensive team and hope to grind out a win that way. So not start for O’Hara. More than likely same team as last home game v Blackburn
Ikeme Ward Johnson Berra Zubar Foley Henry Sako Davis Doyle Cassidy
Going for 2-0 to Wolves
You’ve nailed Saunders dilemma precisely. He’s quoted as saying that a few wins on the bounce and we’re back in play-off territory, but he knows that the team is not strong enough defensively to go for those wins. Expect a few more draws, with an occasional win until the season peters out into a series of meaningless matches.
Like a lot of people have commented, I think this one is there for the taking with the right team on the pitch. Have a terrible feeling however that Deano will play it safe in an effort to avoid a defeat.
Come on Deano….Grow a pair! O’Hara and Sigurdarson to start.
Wolves 2 – 1 Blackpool
I’m going for a narrow Wolves win, mainly because we’re in ever-so-slightly better shape than the visitors. Isn’t that something to get excited about at a crucial point in the season, when we should be challenging at the top rather than languishing in the bottom half??
Wolves 2 – 1 Blackpool
Pivotal selection for me. 1-1
Based on his pronouncements to date we will see little coming through in the way of new players in the next few days. E&S last night suggested Warnock, a decent left back I have suggested in the past. Big wage subsidy needed though from a club in as much of a mess as we are. No confidence at all about tomorrow or in the new manager. Wolves 1 Blackpool 3.
I can appreciate Deano’s need to shore the team up defensively. Even the numpty who out the team together knew that, even though he couldn’t recognize a defender if one hit him (McNumpty that is…jury is still out on Deano!) I also agree that this game is there very much for the taking…and after two cautious draws Im hoping he will want to start to push on a little.
I’m expecting a cautious start with Davis and Henry in the middle and would be in no way surprised to see Foley on that right side of midfield. I think he will want to battle out the majority of the game, and if we nick a goal then great, just as long as we don’t leak a goal! Then as the second half draws to an end I’m hoping he throws O’Hara in and Siggi…and we nick a goal at the death to provide us with a 1-0 win!
What I would really like to see is an attacking 4-5-1 using Sako and Pesko or Hammil for that matter on the wings. Davis, O’Hara and Henry in the middle, with O’Hara playing a box to box role and Siggi as the loan striker. I think this would be both entertaining and provide us with a resounding win! Well you can dream still cant you!!!!!
I think that I’ve out thought my thinking and I’m just thoroughly pissed off with what’s happening to OUR Wolves. Yet another infertile window I’d bet . No predictions from me, other than if I had a dose of the clap I’d screw ‘the gleesome threesome’ without any qualms.
Frantic Friday-No Very Dull and Let Down Friday AGAIN!
Post from E&S website
“But the club are keen to play down the significance of the Thursday afternoon meeting between Saunders, chief executive Jez Moxey and chairman Steve Morgan.
They insist that while the phone lines are “going crazy” with interest in their players and Wolves pursuing incoming deals, nothing is close to being finalised, and won’t be until the final days of the window next week”.
Phone lines going crazy eh? Another frantic Friday? Probably as much substance as Captain Morgans treasure chest. Yo ho ho – This has all the hallmarks of the summer window cock up when Fletch etc were sold too late for Staale to bring in new players. Do they seriously think we will fall for this again? If our players are in such demand and we want to offload them then why is nothing happening?
Steppenwolfe-Meeting was to confirm they want top money for dross
if not, no one coming in.
Think we can read them like a book.
Phone lines going crazy.? Thats Deano saying to Doncaster can I have my old job back- M and M are a bunch of liars.
Wolves to scrape a 1-0 win (I bloody hope so anyway)
we’re gonna be more creative and attacking tomorrow, with O’Hara etc back in the team, and will win 3 – 0
Sorry to be a ‘stick-in-the-mud’ but I can’t see us scoring more than once. Not yet anyway. The performance last week was turgid so why should this weeks’ be much different ? DS is concentrating on not shipping goals and with the bulk of McCarthys’ Plodders still aboard, that’s easier said than done. Blackpool haven’t won for 7 or is 8 games so rest assured, this is where they come good.
Wolves 0 Blackpool 2
wolves 1-2 blackpool just hope its entertaining and the team put in a proper shift.
Wolves 2 Blackpool 1 A game of little quality but the right result
I’ve lost the faith – Wolves 0 Blackpool 2
Frantic Friday came and went,
no-one in and no-one sent.
Lots of rumours in the press,
nothings changed, what a mess..!!!
Still early days for new man Dean,
match number three let’s see them keen,
to do their best, no place to hide
and fill the fans again with pride.
Now’s the time to earn a win
everyones face will have a big grin.
Let’s not forget season in season out,
three points at home were rarely in doubt.
Forget the play-offs this time around.
It’s more important to stand our ground
and make it sure that we’ll all be here,
to finish off what starts this year.
As ever UTW…!!!!!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Our owner Morgan,
Where the fuck are you?
Hands in the till,
greasels nose up your arse,
The way you run this club
Is a total farce.
Parachute payments
And massive war chest
Money spent on new stand
Where is the rest?
The board is a joke,
The players are shit
Fuck off back North
You money grabbing, two faced, lying, backstabbing, moxey loving scouse git.
fucking brilliant … I like to see a blog, perhaps poetic about the two tossers I despise for f$@king us up.
You wanna see the north bank full?
Buy another Stevie Bull
Or failing that, buy a map
Show our strikers where the goal’s at.
The last 12 months have been a joke
And our morale is sadly broke
It’s turned the fans into moaners
They lay the blame with the owners
A big new stand is what was planned
Put the money in the land
It seems to us a better idea
To give Wardinho a new career
Buy a left back and a forward
And someone to keep the back four ordered
It would be nice once in a while
If our team could make us smile
We’d like to be back again
In the promised land of the prem
Not languishing in the second tier
Another 20 years is what we fear
And if that didn’t make you cry
S*ndwell Town are flying high
So times are tough, but for a lark
Let’s read the news from Villa Park
Please send to the express and star. Lets see if they publish the truth
that NEEDS to be on a banner and displayed at every game……anyone? absolutely spot on mate!!
only problem is that the wolves kgb would probably ban it cos its the truth!!! the mol has become another redrow millionaires home with a huge tv in the middle showing crap football matches with only the wealthy able to attend..clive for ceo?
The laws of probability must be on our side by now to enable us to win at home though we cannot expect to score more than one with no strikers in form.
Wolves 1 Blackpool 0
Only downside being if we win, we won’t spend so in two minds as to what would be best for the long-term future.
Frimpong to Fulham for the rest of the season….glad we never took him, far too injury prone, clowns run this club, they really do.
On the plus side I like dean Saunders better than solbakken. It’s not exactly exciting football at the moment but it does seem the players are actually a bit livelier. I know we’re still bad and solbakkens signings seem the better option, but Saunders is the first manager in years to notice a shit defence and an oversized squad.
I would be happy with mid-table stability this season (I felt like that at the start of the season) and perhaps a few tidy performances along the way. I’m going to the game today (can’t sleep haha) and I hope Saunders gets his first win.
Up The Wolves.
Solbakken had seen how poor most of the team were and wanted to sell them and buy 5 or 6 better ones. Now we still have the poor players and Saunders is wasting precious time finding out what the fans knew already. He should have started Sigurdarson today; anyway, he’s not the ‘Molineux chief’ as the Express and Star will call him, but M&M’s fall guy, and the players are in the team as they are up for sale.
I did hear that solbakken wanted a few crap players out its a shame he didn’t sell them in the summer after meticulously looking at our failed premiership campaign on DVD ( available at the club shop I’m sure).
I agree Sigurd should have played, Ebanks hit an amazing chance right at the keeper in the second half and Doyle looks fed up. Lets just hope this loss is a blessing in disguise and gives m&m ( may contain nuts) a kick up the arse to spend a good few million ASAP. Great comments John.
UTW.
I predict a clean sheet for both teams.
0-0
Lads… it’s happened. This football club has well and truly permeated deep into my consciousness.
Last night, I had a dream we loaned O’Hara to Grimsby Town and woke up in a cold sweat. The horror!
we are GRIMSBY TOWN ! my little plastercine friend 🙂
In terms of bitterness and apathy this season easily beats the last one, how foolish of me thinking the players and those that run the club were at their worst back then.
I’m not here to moan but I can hardly be the only one who’d like to see the season over asap. Does it ever matter if Wolves are finishing 10th place or 18th? The football is just not there, frankly.
1-1 B’pool seem to be just as dire and inept as us.
Not confident but hope for a 2-1 wolves win. Mind you after last week 2 shots on target is asking a lot
Teams are out. Here’s our line up:
Ikeme, zubar, johnson, berra, ward, foley, henry, o’hara, sako, doyle, ebanks-blake.
Subs: De vries, batth, davis, doumbia, peszko, sigurdarson, cassidy.
What a load of rubbish. Foley starting in midfield AGAIN. At least O’Hara is in but still Doyle and SEB up front despite no shots on target between the two of them at hilsborough. I’m furious at that.
Peszko is fit, why the hell is he not starting!?
After Saunders stating that he has too many right wingers, the fact that he’s not playing Peszko suggests to me that he’s going to release him at the end of the season. One more off the wage bill…(sadly, one who shows a bit of ability).
Wardy hurt in warm up: Pez is in; Foley to RB
To football gods have heard my prayers. Lets just hope Foley can hold the fort at LB
Fuck me! Did somebody dangle a Big Mac in the rear of the goal net?!
anyone got a stream i can watch online please. I just cant resist.
if you find that stream let me know so i can lie face down in it!!!
1-2 as many predicted, this is how predictably shite wolves have become
anyone seriously believe these Saunders and these no-hopers have what it takes to win a relegation battle let alone another game?
Seems a judicious time for a team crisis meeting!
Losing 2-1 and saunders brings on a defensive midfielder with 5 mins to go. Genius.
I didn’t understand the substitutions either. We are losing and we replace an attacker with a defensive midfielder. Siggy comes on with 5 minutes left. Cassidy and Doumbia remain on the bench. With 5 minutes left and losing 1 – 2 I would have any of these before Davis.
is it ONLYus that can see this club and those in charge for what it is? i hear the attendance was really poor ….now thats going to hurt ginger pubes! glad i didnt hang around yesterday for the game after my uncles funeral..who as a teenager played alongside the great duncan edwards…those were the days we actually produced great players! this lot are complete rubbish and should have their contracts torn up!!!!
My dad used to go on about Duncan Edwards. Said he was the best player he’d ever seen
Solbakken told both players and management what they didn’t want to hear: most of the starting team are not fit for purpose. Result: He was sacked!
Match report from DS We played well in the first half and were the better team in the 2nd half. Was he watching the same game as me? Forget protecting players (use the term loosely ) tell the truth, they were bloody artful. We missed a big opportunity to kill them off in the 1st half and paid the price. Sorry but half that starting 11 do not deserve to wear the shirt. DS needs to be ruthless and if possible get rid of the old guard, they are tired, past their best, lack motivation and required skill necessary to keep us in this division. Berra you are having a laugh.
Agree totally with your assessment
We just got beat fair and square by the worst team I’ve seen us play this season .
A massive clearout needed . Weather or not any of our players can succeed elsewhere now is irrevelent …they have all lost the plot here
So get rid !!
A very depressing 5 hour trip home…
Still , I’ll be back for Leeds , will anything have changed though ????
Clipboard went thirteen matches without a win.
Is Saunders’ first job to beat that record?
If so, he’s going about it quite well.
It is now 5 days until close of play in the transfer market, and not a new signing in sight. And, more damning, not a single one of McDickwadhead’s signings has gone, despite the mandate that they all get picked to play, every week, without exception.
Our next seasons local derbies begin in Walsall……………..
and the season after in luton! playing at the bescott as we had to sell the ground!
STOP PRESS !!!!!!!
Wolves receive offers for players.
A bottle of scotch and a tin of sticking plasters for Johnson.
A bag of spuds for Ebanks-Blake.
A three-piece-suite for Doyle.
A one-way ticket back to The Emerald Isle for Ward.
Anybody got any other offers ?
a rugby ball for berra!
I heard Saunders being interviewed on WM on the way back from the game – it was very disconcerting to hear him say that he thought Wolves were the better team in the second half and moreover that he had to give these players a chance. If he is not planning to clear (and replace) as many of these losers as possible in the next 5 days then i’m afraid we’ve “bought a pup” in appointing him. I’m very despondent to say that this club has a completely rotten core in Moxey and Morgan and I hope Saunders shows himself to be his own man by what he does rather than by what he says in the next few days……..if he doesn’t, i sincerely think we will be watching League One football next season. I booked the weekend in Brighton for the last game of the season in November expecting at least something positive to play for , I hope to God it doesn’t become a wake for our relegation.
Sorry to say he has sounded like Moxeys puppet with his comments in E&S this week.
I have read some comments on twitter and elsewhere from some folks trying to argue that Morgan and Moxey are not to blame ,because the problem is with the players on the pitch.Surely all Wolves fans must realise by now,we are a football club and a football club stands or falls on the quality of the playing squad. The quality of our playing squad at present is not good enough. The Owner and Chief Executive must take responsibility for this. They decide the budget, the salaries and in the case of Chief Executive directly negotiate to sign and sell players. They decide whether or not to spend money on the training ground and stadium etc. They appoint managers and agree contract extensions or not with the players. The manager recommends players to sign, but the final decision on whether to buy them or not, due to the costs involved ,rest with the Board.Dean Saunders has said this week he has recommended players to sign and the Chief Executive and Owner have a decision to make whether we sign them. There should be no doubt whatsoever the Owner and Chief Executive are culpable for the current mess our football club finds itself in.The question is,are they capable of putting things right.
i think we all know the answer to that chris…….a resounding NO! they are taking us down but if that happens , as clive rightly points out , morgan would sell up and scarper with sad act . if thats what it takes to get rid of those two idiots id take it over another year struggling in this league like groundhog day! look at southampton and how quickly they turned it round. another few games of this dross and the ground will be empty! morgan your ability as the owner has shown you are incapable as shown by sticking with moxey and all the crap decisions you have made. deano mate you are just the cheap option mate and im afraid you will be gone soon …not your fault
Solbakken attracted some good players with flair. The only thing this shower of shit could attract now, and this is debatable, is a one-eyed dog looking for a dump. In all the years (ups and downs) I have never felt so utterly despondent. They live in cloud cuckoo land if they think that any of us can believe anything excreted on the official site. Leominster minors are looking quite an attractive option at present!!!!
we need to get proactive phatman but what we can do to change things is anyones guess!! we need to take this club back ..anyone in touch with planty to ask him to buy the club back from the scouse thief!
Fletch, In the really dark days of gates less than 4000, when we were bottom of the third division and in our first few months in the division four,Robert Plant could often be seen in the John Ireland stand(now Steve Bull].On a couple of occasions ,when he was on the way to the bog,I asked him was he going to put money into the club.He replied his accountant had advised him not to.Although on one occasion,he said the Board have got some money’but they don’t know their arses from their elbows’.Sure enough within a few weeks Bully,Thompson and Dennison arrived. At the time that was big money for the Wolves, and I have often wondered if Planty did in some way put up the money that enabled us to sign Bully. I have read since that Jack Harris guaranteed the money ,so perhaps it was not Planty.Right now it seems Robert spends most of his time in Texas, with a new wife.So he will have other things to spend his money on.In any event he is a lifelong Wolves fan and so you never know. One thing is for sure in his heyday he was the best singer in the business.
We must be neighbours! My lad played for Leominster Colts for five years. They werent much cop but would still have beaten this shower!
The Dithering goes on….If we get relegated you won’t see Greadeball for dust.
Is that the plan Steve Bhatti?
The next 5 days are the most crucial period in our recent history.
Get a grip.
alf mate ..is there nothing we can do to get the idiot out..ive tried e-mailing sir jack but without success weve voiced our opinion in the stands but nothing. short of buying him out it leaves me feeling really powerless and thinking i count for nothing as a fan!
Morgan is sinking more and more out of his depth but what can you expect from a rich brickie who wanted a football club as his toy and picked up Wolverhampton Wanderers on the cheap. I believe that his reckless ego has brought us to this sorry state and if left unchecked will drag us further down the road towards lower league anonymity. I think he is beyond reason and that scares me.
So many times we have been strung along with false promises of a new beginning but we have been let down time and time again. We must find his Achilles heel and bring him down. He can walk away from “Wolves” without feeling because unlike us, he has no passion for the club – he doesn’t share our blood.
My main choice would be for Morgan to sell the club to a consortium of fans who would have the best interests of the club at heart but that isn’t going to happen is it? Therefore the only way I will be pacified is if he delegates full control of football matters to a recognised, experienced and respected “football” man but that doesn’t seem likely to happen either.
Now …….. don’t let me start about Moxey……..
Robert Plant, your time has come!
can we petition the old gold rock god!! i would wet my pants if planty was the owner..
Where in Texas does Mr. Plant live?
Let me know and I will go begging.
To be perfectly honest, I don’t think just posting on a blog (as brilliant a fourm for us wolves fan this blog is!) would have any influence. Maybe getting a petition together to approach Mr Plant would be a tangible way we could show how we want change in the club (Despite our idealised fantasies, We also have to accept Robert Plant may sadly have no interest in owning wolves). Sayng that, any change would also have to let Mr Morgan and Mr Moxey bow out quickly but gratefully so as not to lose face.
PS…Think we’ll have to also get the mecurial Patti Griffin into a wolves shirt and give Rob a nudge if we were to be succesful..
When Sir Jack was trying to find a buyer for the club Robert Plant was asked if he fancied it . He said no thankyou, I’m happy just being a fan. I doubt his position has changed. And though he is wealthy he’s not that wealthy.
£85 million according to The Sunday Times Rich List. Clive,he’s living in Austin. One more reason why he won’t be interested.
As a few of you said, the next 5 days are crucial. The current crop of first team players are not good enough. We have all been saying that for a long time, although the managers, MM, TC, SS and now DS have taken a lot of the blame. If morgan does not sanction an overhaul of this group of players (in 5 days????!!!!???) we will be relegated as they do not have the stomach to fight and battle to win a football match. The early bird will be here soon and no one in their right mind would give wolves their money, based on the lies of the ginga bollocks and pieman. The ground will be empty. If i had not got a season ticket there is no way i would pay £30 to go and watch that pile of shit. Fans will not renew season tickets and then the club has no money. This has been spiraling out of control for the past couple of years and you reap what you sow, which in our case is fuck all. I would put every single player on the transfer list and see what happened. If you didnt go to the match, the second half was disgraceful. They dont deserve to be paid, let alone play. And this has been going on for too long. 5 days morgan and then the fans really will be voting with their feet.
Well said – I fully agree
Solbakken or Saunders
The performance and the results are the same.
You could any manager in charge of this shower of Shit and it would be the same.
They have got away with this for far too long.
Moxey and Morgan are to blame for allowing it to happen
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!!
Forgotten how long I have been saying that for!!!
Ave you noticed with Dumb and Dumber everything is last minute and guess what
they always get it wrong.
Four DIFFERENT managers over looking the SAME bunch of wasters. After manager two or three you’d have to be saying” wait a minute , maybe it’s not the managers fault after all”.where you would expect wholesale changes, investment not tinkering !After manager four defends the guys who will inevitably will get him the sack , you gotta think someone else is pulling ALL the strings on and off the pitch ! Not rocket science my friends.
I can’t generate any enthusiasm to comment anymore about our beloved club at present, I’m thoroughly heartbroken.
i know phatty brother…i go into a misery laden brain sleep and then wake up following more dross.. zzzzzzzz
which proves morgan def. hasnt got a football brain..i bet liverpool are wetting themselves at the fantastic success hes made at the blue square wolves fc redrow plc .com
To get out of this mess we need a Manic Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
It’ll take more than that Alf.
Wolves scholars should be played. They at least would play with pride. Rondeano Saunders has got one hell of a battle on his hands now. Somehow he has to motivate this pathetic shambles of a team, a team lost without their spiritual leader and guru, now turned tractor spotter. Clipboard tried, Solbakken tried, and now Saunders is trying to flog a dead horse. Great intelligence Johnson by the way (what can I do to help a struggling team? Yeah I’ll get sent off with a minute to go, that’ll help won’t it). It’s enough to drive anyone to drink. Please Messrs Morgan & Moxey, do the decent thing and spend some money or go, because this is torture.
Go would be better.
Thomas ? Ben ?
Where are you ?
No post-mortem article yet !
Peerhaps you know something we don’t and are busily penning a post-moxey ?
One can hope……………………..
theyve bought the wolves for a tenner! i think they paid too much though !
Just to come back to the most bizarre comment of the day. It came from DS who said we were the better team in the second half! If he believes that then we are in even more trouble than I thought. We were totally clueless. A bunch of useless no hopers who need clearing out.
Morgan has to shoulder responsibility for this mess and it is time for him to ship out now.
“My main choice would be for Morgan to sell the club to a consortium of fans who would have the best interests of the club at heart but that isn’t going to happen is it?”
How I wish put some people in charge who really care, that might even work, we are doomed under M & M and Deano has already proved to me that he is clueless. Time for a swim and a pint or 10.
never say never …. things are pretty desperate and morgan would have to be on the moon to not know what we think of his great job at the wolves..he MUST know the job is way too big for a scouse labourer and before too long he may just look for a way out. my biggest concern is that hes got his grubby little fingers in so much in wolverhampton that it would be way too costly to go anywhere..what a mess were in. i reckon the players and staff should be made to wear fancy dress for the rest of the season cos boy oh boy have they acted like idiots
Lets all chip in and buy 20,000 scratch cards, with our winnings we could offer to buy out Dick Turpin and get Sweeny Todd exiled to Smethwick!!!
ZUBAR GONE ? WTF ……
NOW DS WANTS TO TALK OUR OVER WEIGHT UNDER PERFORMING STRIKER IN TO STAYING ….WHY ?
BECAUSE HE HAS SCORED 10 GOALS ?
FACTS ARE FACTS ……HE SHOULD HAVE SCORED 20 …….HE AINT THE PLAYER HE WAS >>>>NOR IS HE INTERESTED IN BEING THAT PLAYER >>>HENCE THE WEIGHT .
