We got in trouble with some Barnsley fans last season after they battered Wolves in this fixture.
A few Tykes supporters felt there was an insinuation in our report that teams ‘like Barnsley’ shouldn’t be beating us 4-0.
But nobody was belittling their club. In fact, we were complimentary about just how superior they were that evening.
Fast forward to now and at the risk of another dressing down, Barnsley definitely should not be beating us 4-0 this time. Sorry chaps.
Barnsley
The team that got them up into the Championship obviously had some talent because most of them have been picked off.
Hourihane, Mawson and Winnall are just three names who’ve moved on for big money.
It’s a big ask for Paul Heckingbottom to keep rebuilding the side when other clubs keep swooping in for their best and brightest.
They’re currently down in 20th and still looking for their first away win of the season.
However, a strong showing at Wembley in midweek against Spurs, albeit in defeat, will have given them heart.
Former Walsall man Tom Bradshaw has 5 goals already and is one to keep an eye on Saturday.
Wolves
Whichever combination Nuno chooses, I feel confident the overall quality won’t suffer.
I still think the team that won the first three matches of the season is our best eleven.
But the players who’ve benefited from injuries like Batth and Vinagre have come in and done well.
N’Diaye also offers something different to Saiss, which is no bad thing. You don’t always want two static holding players.
It’s a squad game but Jota has fast become the main man and he’s the one player everyone wants to see on the teamsheet.
Predictions
I’m so confident that we’ll win that I’m almost certain we won’t. There’s a football fan’s logic for you.
Maybe this current Barnsley team are better than the bits I’ve seen and maybe we’re not as good as I think we are, but everything points to a home victory.
I’m going for 2-0.
Up The Wolves!
* Well done to Beford Wolf who won the Art of Football competition and thanks to everyone who took part.

Studied the form, the stats, the odds, the history, the options and the possibilities.
Studied the videos of both teams, the official’s records, the weather forecast and the state of the pitch.
Upshot is we will win.
We will keep another clean sheet.
And Neil Warnock is still a prize prat.
OODCL
Well done mate. Will check to see which one of your entries won lol.
Looks like a home win but nothing is guaranteed in football. I’ll still back us. 3-0.
Nobody should be beating the Wolves 4-0.
Nuno has created an atmosphere around the club and it feels great that we’re going into every game genuinely believing we’re going win. I’d be surprised if we drop points on Saturday and fully expect a win. With most of our “first team” rested in the week we should be raring to go for this one. Sorry Barnsley fans but anything less than three points will be a poor result. Jota and Bonatini to score
They seem to be able to score a goal so I’ll go for hard fought slender win.
Do we think costa might be on the bench?
I’d love to see Helder back, but I don’t think it will be in this one.
Wow. You must be psychodelic Mark.
if Barnsley lost to the supremely crap Villa last weekend, hopefully it’s a straightforward win for us…
We can’t expunge that bizarre result from the record books but we can highlight how bizarre it was by reversing it. 4-0.
Barnsley chopped they will be
Not a huge challenge, we will score once and then sit back.
I still think our inability to convert the chances we create means games will be tight until we get that goal hungry striker.. I’m hoping Zyro can help off the bench
So Barnsley at um, sunny Saturday at 3.00pm
Home win with a late consolation for the northern barmpots.
Hopefully keep the winning sequence going, would love a win but will settle for a draw.
Would love to see us win by more than one goal, but I would not be surprised if we won 1-0. As long as my medium term prediction of being sole leaders by the end of the month.
Reversal of last year 4 nil to us this time, i really wanna see u pummel some teams,1) for our goal difference, 2) for the teams confidence n belief.
Roll on Saturday lunchtime, same place same time. Top of the league grin that should last till Monday, come five o’clock.
me thinks it will be three one and have back to back correct scores for the first time ever.If so, the grin will last all week.
No disrespect to Barnsley, but they can surely understand our desire for some payback after the corresponding fixture last season?
I’m going for The Clive.
Travelling later this morning, so hopefully catch up with some of you in the North Bank Bar pre-match
Like “The Clive” allusion.
Go on lads, give ’em The Clive. Five for Clive.
Hope we can keep it as an open, flowing game.
Time to start really putting teams to the sword and get a healthy GD. Bright to bang a couple in and Ronan to socre his first off the bench……
My goodness, that 4 0 last time was a midweek shocker and surely can’t happen again.
I think this time shirley will be good and ready for these northern tykes and we shall overcome…but not by much.
I think as the season progresses and we hopefully identify and nail a goal-hungry striker in January, teams like Barnsley and Bolton et al can be put to the sword.
But not yet.
Wolves to dominate and thrill but only 2 goals again I reckon.
UTW
Should win this comfortably.
I don’t care what the score is as long as we win, would be lovley to win by a few goals, keep the run going keep the fans pleased come on my babies.
The table doesn’t lie – joint 1st against the 20th placed team. Anything but home win will be a surprise.
Wolves to continue their good form keep up the good work Thomas
On paper, this has to be a home banker. But football isn’t played on paper it’s played on grass, with 22 unpredictable players and 4 unreliable officials.
Notwithstanding these imponderables, it’s still a home banker.
Quite simply 2 – 0
Batth and Bonatini with the all important goals
As has been said should be a home banker but this is Wolves. We have always had the capacity to f**k up in these games but hopefully Nuno is changing all that.
Should be comfortable.
Well if the Vanilla can beat them we certainly can, COYW
26,000 tickets sold so far, as of yesterday.
Wolves fans given the lower Steve Bull and it’s not far off sold out.
North and South bank sold out.
What’s not to like.
3-0 to Wolves with a slick, flowing game.
Jota to continue scoring.
Miranda bagging a header, messing his hair.
Neves with another screamer in top left corner of the onion bag.
COMBambinos
Miranda bagging a header, messing his hair. You are just jealous Stu, I know I am, if we sat together the blokes behind would think we were a pair of tits………..come to think of it………….
I think my Grandson would prefer, Terminal 1 & 2 at Gatwick both runways very polished.
I agree with all of your comments. We are allowed to enjoy this confident, talented team of ours. We can and do play football in the purest sense and we have a few really class players who can all turn games around for us.
It should be easier to stay top of the table (ish), than fight to get there. Nuno is astute and we have a goood attitude. The squad depth is the difference this year. For example. Whoever plates at LB, Vinaigre or Douglas won’t affect the shape or effectiveness. We do have real strength on the bench, with the expectation that Nuno will use 3 subs in the game. There aren’t many better players to come off the bench than Cav, IMO. Happy times indeed mate
Based on form I’m going to have to go for a home win.
I don’t think it will be a thrashing though as we don’t seem to have that ruthlessness about us yet. We look fairly good at the back – apart from set pieces, comfortable in possession but lacking that killer edge.
Barnsley certainly won’t make it easy for us but we should have enough as their team has been weakened since last season.
Wolves are the team to beat along with Leeds so every team in this league will raise there game against us home and away this shows how far we have come under Nuno.
Barnsley are no shrinking violets and I think are a better team than the form has been showing. I’m going for a narrow win but would not be surprise if they get a draw.
Nothing original to add. Should be fairly comfortable – 2-0 up early on then close the game down. I hope.
Championship success is built on real consistency and we seem to be building nicely, long may it continue…….. Wolves this season will take on anyone anywhere. Away from home we play better because the opposition leave more space for us to exploit, at home they pack the defence and hope to sneak a draw and attack us on the break.
I expect us to win, but like the last 2 games by the odd goal, so it will be tight and a little close for comfort. But 3 points and onwards and upwards.
We should win ; the quality of our players tells us that. Should being the operative word. Championship football has a habit of finder a sucker punch as we know only to well. That said, even if one or two players have an off day, the quality on our bench should (there’s that word again) be enough to get us the 3 points by 16.45 tomorrow evening. This really is an exciting season so far and one that should get us to the land of minimum £100 million at the very least next season.
Given our current inability to convert our abundance of chances, I think we’ll totally dominate but the scoresheet won’t reflect it, however 3 points is most likely, come on me babbies!!
Mmmmmm…..well the city of Nottingham got its own back on this wolves fan with the rained off one day international against the west indies yesterday. At least I had an email from Trent Bridge this morning confirming a full refund on the tickets.
Looking forward to driving over to the Mol tomorrow and fully expect our superior class will prevail in a another entertaining game. Get the boys motivated Nuno, and let them go do the business.
OK, the 0-4 was embarrassing but did we not also beat them at their place last season ?
I smell a bus being parked tomorrow so it might be a good time to start with Bright after his solid mid-week performance. Also I can envisage Douglas starting again, excellent tho’ Vinagre has been.
A comfortable win and some overdue retribution for that unmentionable loss lost year. In Bonatini I still trust, gets better every game.
we”ll finally convert all that pretty passing and possession into goals this week, at least two for our Brazilian striker…………….
It can be a double decker, or one of them bendy ones, or even an American bright yellow school bus, it dont matter what they park, our guys will get past.
Diogo Jota is one of the most skilful players EVER to pull on a Wolves shirt in anger, and I would bet Stuwolf’s mortgage Jeff and Nuno have a deal stiched up to sign him permanently in January.
Kids like him are rare talents, and Nuno seems to have this knack of bringing out the best in players, another rare talent.
Very exciting times for all things Molineux related.
And Wolves tv is a dogsend to us exiles.
A relaxed breakfast, and a very civilized 9.00 am kick off, in the comfort of my own chair, being able to pause the action when nature calls, no inclement weather to put up with, and no commentary.
What more could a bloke ask for on a Saturday morning?
Barnsley, from the land of McCarthy’s dinosaurs, will be extinct by 5.00pm
FOwb
Love the McCarthy dinosaur……us Clive…!
Barnsley have only conceded 11 goals in 7 games so this could be a tough one. Think we will win but only just. Will be in The Novotel and North Bank bar tomorrow if any bloggers are about.
12-30 Promt Newark, right hand side at the end of the bar. Shaun and I will be pleased to meet you and the rest of the motley gang.
Hiya mate,
I actually said to Bedders at Forest last weekend that I hadn’t met you guys yet. Be nice to meet some more bloggers. Hopefully we will have a better journey from Newark as it has been taking us over 2 hours lately.
I still worry about our failure to convert domination of matches into goals. It’s no good having 65% possession if we don’t score. I can see Barnsley playing 4-5-1 so it will not be easy to break them down but I am still hopeful of a (not comfortable) win and TOP OF THE LEAGUE by 5:00pm tomorrow. OODCL
Three points tomorrow will possibly see us top of the tree , I think we will be top in a week or so anyway as Leeds finally get some tough games and a few others playing each other , I think our main competition for top two will come from villa and boro , id rest Bonatini and a couple more and see how we go ! Look at me advising Nuno like e don’t know!! Anyway feeling very confident
Utw
Early breakfast and Wolves TV ..nice way to start weekend
After the Bristol City result teams may decide to take us on.. hope so
Greetings from Jaipur, India. Think this was my previous prediction. Anyway lets stuff Barnsley particularly as one my ex’s supported them!
If Villa can beat them at a canter there is no way we can lose this…….never that simple in the Championship i know but its a win for me.
Bonatini with a brace and jota with 1
Another clean sheet but think barnsley will park the bus so a scrappy 1-0 for me
First of all, I would like to apologise most humbly and sincerely to Super Agent Jorge Mendes.
I, and I suspect I was not alone, saw him as a bit of a chancer.
Out to make a quick buck by conning nice Mr Jeff Shi into taking on a load of foreign has beens, never will be’s and general Carlos Kickaballs in order to take his rake off.
And, to be sure, a few of the players we first got in could well fall into one, or several, of those categories.
However.
And it’s a BIG HOWEVER!
Neves, Jota, Big Willy, Bonatini, Vinagre – I could go on but I won’t – are all players that wouldn’t have given us a second glance if it hadn’t been for Mendes’ influence.
And, because Jorge and Jeff are obviously mates, they have managed to bring them to our club.
And because of that, I would quite happily go down on my hands and knees in front of the two of them – well… let’s say the three of them because I should include Nuno as well – and give thanks that they have brought us from the darkness of the Moxey and Morgan era and back, blinking like pit ponies released after years of hell down a coal mine, into the light.
And, the sensible addition of home grown talent, has also improved our squad. Even though I still mourn for Dave and Dicko (Shut up Bedders!).
So, here’s to Jorge.
My old chum.
I shall raise a glass of Marston’s Pedigree (other beers are available) to you tonight and if you could arrange for me to have your babies as well, that would be a bonus.
…But one word of advice mate.
Next time you order a suit online, go for a size bigger eh?
I to was a doubter and re: Costa should be running round Featherstone in my birthday suite which is not so tight these days.
I am very happy to eat humble pie on both subjects, but will spare the poor folk of Featherstone such pain as seeing me in said birthday suite.
I do believe with Jeff and Fosun they actually read this blog and others and take note of our observations and views and they can be influenced and get the fans perspective on things any way to quote Jonny Rotten when he forgot the words to ” EMI at Brixton Acadamy in 2007…….,” sorry………sorry…!
Just taken up 3 day residency in the Novotel. Catching up with friends, match tomorrow and stadium tour/museum on Sunday. Sweet!
There’s no going back on the 5-1 prediction already posted, but let’s hope.
Wolves 2

BOG
Wolves 2

Of course it should be a win for us, but not necessarily an easy one as this league is far too competitive and close than to expect that. We are now acknowledged by our competitors as a very good side and each game is virtually a cup final as the opposition wish to show the big spenders their ultimate worth. It is a complement we could do without when sides take the trouble to try and intimidate the likes of the mercurial Jota. One thing that really unsettles me is the performances of the officials; I have come to the conclusion that, bearing in mind the vast amounts of gambling on games, even more so in the far east, that corruption is at work. I really can’t see how so many strange and apparently inexplicable decisions can flood the games as at present.
We should win and may with ease, but football, usually, doesn’t follow such logic, so…
Wolves to win 3-1 perhaps?
Checking the motor, packing my bags and looking forward to a decent trip on the A14 and M6, Gawd help me…
The comments from Ferris about going into games confident of winning reminded me of an interview with Peter Broadbent that I still have somewhere on a club VHS video He was looking back to his playing days and said “We didn’t think we’d ever lose”. They lost sometimes of course, but it was normally a surprise – to them and we fans. This present team seems to have enough about it to eventually reach the same level of confidence, and it’s a very powerful thing to have. We’re not quite at that point yet I don’t think, but not far off – so close in fact that my reaction to hearing the cup draw wasn’t the “That’s the end of that then” that it would have been over recent seasons, but rather “That could be a bit difficult”.
I’m hoping that Bright’s goal might just have opened the floodgates a little and that some of those “close but no cigar” efforts might just hit the net instead of the woodwork. CONM!!
If Guardiola puts out a weaker side for what he is calling ‘a waste of energy’ cup tie, we may well cause the upset of the round – if we play our more or less best team.
The fact is, out of the last four times we’ve played Prem teams, we’ve won three of them and two of those were away from the Mol’. Nothing to be scared of.
agreed, I’m relishing the challenge – but a Watford fan I know well was there to see his side trounced 6-0 by ‘the most completer team he’d ever seen’ – he would say ‘ Be afraid – be very afraid !
Watford!! Who are they???
I enjoyed watching us beat them 1-0 at Vicarage Road over Xmas not so many years ago, my pal was speechless all the way home – but they went on to gain promotion, and we went downhill…………….. roll on next season when we’ll be playing them again – assuming they avoid relegation.
I am hoping we will improve our goal difference.
Agree that if the vanilla can beat Barnsley then we will walk it.
AT last all those chances will fly in , Its got to happen sometime.
Totaly confident
If we are up the top and want to stay there
Then this is a statement of intent 2-0 up at half time…
We’re going to grill those old Barnsley chops to a crisp !!
Portuhampton 3
Barns slayed. 1
Just been on the Wolves ticket website out of curiosity and there are only 1132 tickets left for tomorrow. There really is a feel good factor at our club for the first time in ages. You have to give credit to the new regime. In fact if Jeff Shi is in The Queens Cantonese tomorrow night I am going to buy him a drink. So Jeff, if you are reading this and want to take me up on my offer, I was the pissed up Wolves fan in the gold Wolves cuff links who asked you for the selfie in the said restaurant after the Middlesbrough game.
BARNSLEY. It is the type of place that reminds you of Arkwright. Open all hours. Of blocks of detergent soap. Of cast iron baths and ladies bloomers. Of humbug mints. Of THE LEGEND Harold ‘Dickie’ Bird. Of Michael Parkinson. Monty Pythons ‘The 4 Yorkshire Men’. Of course the Yorkshire grit will present a formidable obstacle tomorrow but I back us to win in a contest that won’t be easy. A win 2-0.
Target…Trounce The Terrible Tykes.
Top Tactics; Tough Tackling; Too Talented.
Time To Top The Table.
Thrilling, Titanic Triumph…….Three-Two.
On paper we should win this easily but this is football & anything can happen. However things are changing so I see a home win!
COYW
Although on paper it looks a home banker … I thought we would hammer them last year when we capitulated to an embarrassing 0-4 defeat.
Looking back to that … we were always there or thereabouts and imo the scoreline was harsh.
Since then …they have shed their stars and we have signed some humdingers…. so in theory we’re in the driving seat.
I do have a draw nagging at the back of my mind but I’m going bold with a narrow win prediction.
Selection should be straight forward with the exception of Cav, one game good and last week Mehh but then they were all a bit under performing last week, hope they got a kick up the backside ready for today.
I think we will win as long as we can keep our players free from from injury.
If there’s one change from last week’s game ,I would bring back Sais’s to the midfield other than that
stick with the same side.UTW.
Conor Coady gets a new 4 year contract.
A future Wolves legend in the making?
Forgot September 1992. The Tue night at Barnsley. Pay tribute to our fallen colleague Paul Birch who grabbed the winner in a 1-0 win. Been there loads of times. He was about 30/40 when cancer took him . also remember him taking loads of abuse at Millwall about 1990 because he had curly hair. God rest his soul. Just thought I would share that bit of info with the blog.
WITLEY .. me old mate , just asking a little favour from you or Sean
If your in the bar early , could you grab a small chair and cover it in coats and hide it round witleys corner
Special guest tomorrow… my wolves
Supporting mum is attending and she’s 85 years young mate !
See what you can do
No problem Matt I blogged you back last night but didn’t show as a reply, Ops!
Barnsley at home last season was pretty poor and exposed the squad for what it was, lacking in quality. Fast Forward 12 months and we have brought in top draw quality the likes I never thought I would see in a Wolves Shirt and sadly for them Barnsley have lost all the better players. So all of this points to a convincing home win. Typically this is the sort of game we would slip up in but this is Wolves 2.0 and I can see that happening.
Same team as the team that beat Forest last week for me but it is pleasing to see players like Gibbs-White & Hause are fit buy the time a certain winger called Helder is fit. Nuno will have some right option.
Everything points to a comfortable home win, but that’s rarely been our style, fingers crossed.
Sorted no problem. Will she buy us all a drink. My mum was ninety four yesterday and going strong a cert’ for a telegram off the Queen.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 6
Barnsley 0
I believe!
Cheers witley … not on her pension mate But if you can flag the lovely Bev down then I’m sure it must be my round !!
And happy birthday to your mum mate
Let’s celebrate all mums.
Mine’s 92 and counting (I don’t know why she does that).
Witley and London Wolves, give yer mums a big hug.
And the rest of you.
You only get one, look after her.
Still waiting for us to really put a team away and hope this will be the game.
I like Clive love WolvesTV. However, my civilised viewing starts at midnight.
When Liverpool were at their peak they would often win 1-0 and celebrate in style. I’d be quite happy with the same score all season,
Can’t be at the game tomorrow so my old mate – he really IS old! – Rhys Lightning will be in my seat.
I will be in Reading. The DOOGooder’s mourning for Desperate Dave Edwards has tugged on my heart strings and so I am popping down there to ‘ave a word in his shell-like and see if he’ll deign to come back. I for one miss him. I haven’t had a good laugh for ages.
Whilst in Reading I might also take the opportunity to pop into my old mate Dave’s 60th birthday do which coincidentally is happening Saturday night. He’s hired the Outlook Bar for the night with a live band. Drinking trousers on methinks. I might even be coerced by him into reprising our infamous karaoke duet – Sweet Caroline (N.Diamond) never sounded so good! When I say ‘good’ I probably mean ‘different’. Actually when I say ‘different’ I probably mean fecking awful …. and when I say ‘coerced’ I mean if we are both so drunk we can barely stand up and decide we are God’s gift to music.
Known him since we were about 15 or so which means its over 20 years now. He’s not a football fan – he’s been supporting Man U all his life – but loves his music. Happy memories of going to gigs with him in the 1970’s to see the likes of David Bowie, T.Rex, Roxy Music, Lou Reed, Cockney Rebel, The Faces and many more. To this day he swears that his whistle can be heard on the live recording of Delilah by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.
Happy Birthday Dave – that’s my mate Dave not Desperate Mr Edwards – and welcome to the swinging 60’s. When I say ‘swinging’…….well ask your lovely good lady Lynne. Second thoughts maybe don’t!
OODCL
No hard feelings, but your maths is definitely out mate.
20 years ago I was 16, and it was the 90s. If you were gigging in the 70s you might need to get your calculator out to figure out how many years have passed since then.
Ah well, at least you won the competition yeah?
Does anyone else think of the Nintendo Entertainment System every time they see Nuno’s tracksuit?
Will be down in London this weekend to see the excellent Vulfpeck play in Shepherd’s Bush. I’m sure there’s some kind of wolf / sheep pun to be had there, but I’m too tired to think of it.
Looking forward to 3 points from the lads, will be very disappointed if there is any other outcome.
Jota (2) and Bonatini to get the goals, and another clean sheet for the tally to boot.

Bring it feckin on….

Forgive me repeating myself, please. I posted a reply to StuWolf’s post, which I’ll paste here if I may. It is a summary of what I think at the moment and yes, I am in an opioid induced state if happiness.
In short, we should win tomorrow.
There aren’t many better players to come off the bench than Cav, IMO. Happy times indeed mate.
Will be Happy with another 2-1 win.
Barnsley won’t make it easy for us but I believe we can pass our way through the bus and score a couple.
COYW
Can’t be at the match today because I’m in Bosnia Herzegovina but I’ll be following it. 1st home match I’ve missed this season. I’m going for a 2-1 win.
Can’t seem to do replies to posts on my iPhone!
Agree with Benny’s post above
COMBs ?
Another odd goal win? Why not, I’ll take that.
Expecting a steady performance as key players haven’t played for a week. Very relevant to record the sales that Barnsley have had to make. Heckinbottom has very much been in the shadow of Wagner in the west/south Yorkshire area, but considering available resources he’s done a fantastic job. They will give it their best but I wonder if they have they have gone to the well once too often.
We should be able to overcome, but will still need full application. Nose in front after 30 minutes then a second in the last 10 minutes as they stretch. Conor to keep it tight.
Think we should have too much for Barnsley. I doubt it will be comfortable though.
Another solid win I reckon.
There’s no such thing as a comfortable home win where Wolves are concerned but hopefully it will be something close.
No teams in the championship just roll over at the first signs of pressure and in this league there are no certain bankers, Barnsley will want to give us a game and will make it tough but to achieve promotion, these are the games we really need to win, not bothered about by how many. They had a tough trip down to Spurs during the week and might struggle in the latter stages of the game with tiredness especially if our passing game is on the mark and most of a main starters have been rested. So it’s a win but no cricket score.
After much analysis I’m confidently guessing
Sleachy – I am 60. It was a joke. Mind you I did say more than 20 years – not 20 years – which it is. It’s 45 years.
The new Wolves side is starting to become predictable.
If the other team trys to play football it will be a low scoring win or draw for the boys (e.g. Notts Forest).
If the other team try aggressive football then possible loss but Wolves are getting better at handling these type of teams (e.g. Cardiff).
If the other team think they are better then an easy win for the boys (e.g. Man City)
The tykes will play football and therefore a low scoring win for the boys.
Run them ragged, but still only win by an odd goal.
But not odd, as in strange. Unless it rebounds off the North Bank roof into an open goal in front of the South Bank. That would be strange.
It’s a game we should win. It’s a funny old game, though.
Can’t predict anything other than a comfortable win today which means we will probably get bet, good to see some injured players back.
Looking at the teamsheets and you have to say………
If Carlsberg made Subs Benches……….
That will do nicely!
It seems that Bright has finally discovered where the goal is.
Nuno knows his subs
Get in wolves
As I said don’t care what the score is we won that is the important thing get in there up the wolves, 2 points a game still on
What do I know??
Comment 1: Cavaleiro is the best player on the pitch – it’s madness to sub him for Bright
Comment 2: Why the f**k is he bringing on N’Daiye when we’ve got Costa sitting on the bench?
Guess that’s why I sit in the Steve Bull stand and Nuno gets the big bucks!!!!
OODCL
A little underwhelming. Their injury time equaliser was worth it just for the sheer joy (and relief) that broke out when N’Diaye scored.
Glad to have finally met up with Ian (Newark) and Sue. Also, it was good to meet up prematch in the North Bank Bar with Matt (London Loyal) and his mum plus Whitley and Sean.
Apologies Witley, just noticed the typing error.
None needed Wolf.
3 points – thank you very much. Looking forward to hearing how we played as I am sure I will only see 2 minutes on TV tonight.
Brompto,
Wasn’t up to our usual standard.
Glimpse’s of magic, but not sustained. Poor first half not much in it & Barnsley didn’t park a bus.
We didn’t win any second balls & never managed a header in the middle of the park.
They had chances, we had chances.
Douglas had a good game when he came on for Vineger, was surprised that Cav went off as was our best creative player, but Bright done ok.
Next sub N’daiye made a difference, he won the ball inside right & set up the first goal with the cross to Bright & then put away the winner in the last minute of play.
Ref blue the whistle when we had a break with their keeper well out of position which would have given me 3 points today – we always get shit refs.
Lots left on 91 minutes too as their goal went in & missed the winner…..
Played 9 : 20 pts, Costa on the bench, roll on the Vile game….
Thanks RickRack. I could imagine the exodus at 91 mins, with them all hearing the cheer as our winner went in, and their profound exclamations.
Poorest display of the season but as I made my way out of the ground two blokes made the point. Man Utd been winning ugly for years. Fuck it
Simples.
In NUNO We Trust
Was never in doubt & just shows don’t leave the game on 90 minutes
Fekin wolves ay we……..
It’s crazy to think, that the only thing I have to worry about on Sunday, is the fact that we won despite playing very average compared to this seasons standards. Two fine goals and not even bad defending for theirs, instead bad luck.
3 points are 3 points however they are achieved.
OMG how the worm has turned.
Has any body heard from Mikey who lives on St Kitts, he had a Huricane bearing down on the Island last Tuesday and he hasn’t posted since, hope hes ok ?
The commentary was dire at the end when they equalised until…
Well – I couldn’t believe it ..these games invariably happen to teams that go up…
Confidence untill the final whistle today which means we will go for the last minute in future games now …
That can’t be bad ..ugly result but 3 points..
We have been playing right up to the final whistle already this season mate. It’s really good to see, as, as you allude, it was not normally the norm.
Couple of funny things today … one being the sky team of the month with no Wolves players in it the other being a Villa fan who works at the local shop saying to me that he he pity’s Wolves having to play Villa in the form that they’re in at the moment . I genuinely laughed at him , he’s an ok bloke but fuck me , some people don’t know shit from clay ! Priceless
