Despite dropping down to 10th at the weekend, 10th is almost certainly as low as we’re going to finish.
If that’s how it plays out, it will still have been a tremendous season.

But that best of the rest crown is still there for the taking and that should remain the objective.
Based on what we’ve this season, Arsenal at home looks a good fixture but I don’t think they’re quite as soft-centered as they were under Wenger.
Added to that, they really need the result, which adds a frisson of excitement to proceedings.
Arsenal
Serene progress to the Europa League semi-final has come at a time when the Gunners’ league form has wobbled.
Two defeats in their last three have damaged aspirations of a top-four finish, but with fellow contenders dropping points, it’s still in their own hands.

This is their game in hand on Chelsea and with Man Utd taking on City at the same time, there’s every chance a win would give them some breathing room and prove decisive come May.
There are goals in this Arsenal side and 40 of them this season have come from Aubameyang and Lacazette, both of whom are well-rounded players who link the play as well as they finish things off.
Question marks remain about their ability to keep the back door shut though, a weakness which was again exploited by Palace at the weekend.
They also looked vulnerable in the reverse fixture at the Emirates in a game Wolves should have won.

The away end
Some posts lifted from the match thread on Arsenal Mania:
This was the one I thought we’d slip up in. Not confident at all. I don’t want to see that clown Mustafi anywhere near the line-up. I’m also sick of Kola as well but we don’t have any other option if he’s going with a back three. Xhaka will be back and although I’m a big critic of him he’s crucial to our midfield. Lose this and I reckon we’ll go on to lose at Leicester as well. Doom and ****ing gloom here.
1-1.They were very good against top 6 sides and have players who can make difference.
The only hope for a positive result in their tough ground is that Wolves seems to be deflated after their loss at FA Cup semi. But, there’s no way we will go there an smash them out of the park. Our away form is truly horrible. It will either be a game similar to our Everton loss where we completely crumble to Wolves intense pressing, or we might get lucky as in Watford.
No chance in hell we win this. 2-0 Wolves.
Massive game now. We could afford to lose had we done our job vs Palace. Now the lads that let us down need to step up.
Wolves
I’d make two changes to the team we saw against Brighton.

Whereas Brighton came to defend for the whole 90 minutes, Arsenal will be rather more adventurous so Dendoncker for Gibbs-White makes sense.
I would also give Jonny the hook after a below par performance. Vinagre is really pushing hard for game time and I’d give him a chance tomorrow.
If we can stop them from playing I really fancy our front two to give their defenders a tough time and as always, getting Jota into the game is key.
The poll
[interaction id=”5cbed454bb6fb0dbab178fc2″]Predictions
Well done to Croydon in Chisinau, Val Hever and PeteRobbo who all correctly predicted the scoreline against Brighton.
None of those in the title hunt made headway, so it’s as you were at the top of the overall table.
As always, if you’d like to join in, simply leave your prediction in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

Why not?
We haven’t beaten Arsenal for 100 years and when this team play to their maximum – particularly at home – I don’t think there’s very much to choose between the sides.
Press them in midfield and get the ball to Jota in advanced positions and we can do all sorts of damage.
Well I’m an old fart then because I’ve seen us win 3-2 at their place and hammer them 5-1 at home when they were both league champions and FA cup holders.
Even stephens tomorrow though:
And im an old fart as well because i was at molineux that snowy afternoon when we stuffed them 5-1 .
THE DOOG !
Definitely more confident of three points in this one than I have ever been against the Arse’. They always seem to have played us off the park in days of yore, but the boot was on the other foot at the Emirates and it was we who were unlucky to only gain a point at the end.
Our recent results have been disappointing, but things will change and, strangely, this could be the ideal fixture for us to turn things around once more. Agree with your line-up Thomas. Vinagre is not a great prospect. He’s already the real deal in my book and deserves to be given the start in this one. Should be a cracking game. The perfect antidote to Saturday.
Good to hear such negativity from Arsenal fans.
I’d certainly risk a couple of quid on turning them over at Molineux.
Certainly Vinagre deserves a start. He’s one of the most exciting players we’ve seen at Molineux in a while and rumours of other clubs looking at him should be treated with the contempt they deserve by Nuno and Fosun.
He is part of our future!
As far as finishing best of the rest is concerned – I’m not bothered.
Ninth would suit me fine as long as the remaining performances are back to the Wolves we knew before the semi final.
Europe can wait until we’ve strengthened the squad.
Roll on next season!
I agree with respect to the Europa League ambitions DG, that can wait until we’re further on with our development I think.
Meanwhile, this game gives us another opportunity to show how we enjoy playing against the expansive teams far more than we do against the stonewallers.
So I’m going for a win for once and I’m looking for a 3-1 scoreline too!
As always mate bang on with ur honest assessment ??#Wolvesayewe
I’m hoping that the Emirates ICE programmes are geared up on the plane to feature our attacking prowess against their sponsored team Arse and All.
We’re coming home, we’re coming home , we’re coming, the Twix’s are coming home……
so looking forward to the 32 hours journey…. NOT…. so it will be a little more pleasant to hear that we’ve smashed the goooners.
Would expect to revert to the normal XI but with Vinagre at LWB.
Have a safe trip back Twix. Tis quite a while you’ve been away. You must be missing the ole pre-match buzz at the Mol.
Thanks Steve.
I was gutted for me and pleased for you when I read that you were quaffing Champers on your European tour…. never more deserving mate ….. enjoy yourselves…..
Don’t come home Twix, Iv’e lost those two bits of plastic you gave me to look after for you. ???.
Look after our Lilian for us, and get home in time for the Flum and Liverpool games.
Upwards and Upwards for you then.
Totally off topic. Heading to Wolverhampton with my son next week for the Fulham game. It’s our first game together and we chose Wolves. Posted on this site a bunch of times on wanting to support Wolves etc. Couldn’t quite make up my mind last couple of years, let’s charge that to ADD, but finally chose to support Wolves 100 percent with my boy. Any suggestions on where we should go before the match? Thanks!
Come to the Novotel Hotel bar
We will all be there
Oh nice. We’ll try to head over. Cheers!
Or go for something decent to drink at the Great Western or Combermere.
Okay thank you !
If you’re more interested in the beer you drink before a match, there are loads of pubs in Wolverhampton that serve a good pint.
However, if you would like to meet some fellow bloggers, and probably a few Wolves players and Nuno as they stay there the night before a game, The Novotel would be the place to go.
I can get a decent drink anytime. Not so often I get to meet some good mates and gawp at a few famous footballers.
Your choice entirely!
The pub!!!
The best samosas in the world are sold at the Shere Punjab Sweet Centre on Newhampton Road, which is on the walk to the ground if you go for a pint at the wonderful Newhampton Inn before the game.
Also, hark at us getting glory hunter fans!
Love Samosas. Cheers:)
Taking the lucky mascot that is my 10 yr old daughter Eva tomorrow so fingers crossed etc

We have as much chance of winning this as losing this. A bit of luck (which we are overdue) and taking our chances will determine the outcome. Really want to win this one to get that good feeling back again! Agree with the suggested team selection. Would prefer to end up eighth rather than seventh but points are needed here!
November 20th, 1971
First day my Dad had a color tv.
First program I watched on it.
Match of The Day, back when they only showed 1 game.
The start of my love affair with the 5-1 scoreline.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 5
Previous season’s Double winners, Arsenal 1
And we were 1 down at half time.
Come the snow, cometh the men.
Wagstaffe, Hibbitt, Dougan, Mcalliog ( penalty) and Dougan again, or maybe Richards.
It may not have been the most important game we’ve ever played, but for me it was the best we’ve ever played, bar none.
We outplayed, paralyzed and demolished the best team in the land.
Tomorrow night we have the chance to show the footballing world, once again under floodlights, how good we are.
I fully expect a massively positive reaction to our recent poor form, and our boys turn up and perform to their dazzling potential.
These are the nights we have yearned for over the past 40 years.
These are the opponents we want to come to town, strutting like peacocks, only to get slaughtered like battery hens.
These are the “I was there” games we want to tell our grandkids about, over and over again, ad nauseum!
Tomorrow is going to be special, we WILL win, and by a good margin, maybe 4 clear goals??!!
So pleased you posted this memory as it was exactly the same for me. My first ever Match of the Day required an early bed and a promise from Mum she would wake me up for the programme. Growing up as a teenager in the New Forest only rarely managed to see Wolves when playing Southampton at The Dell.
Personally hope we finish 8th as would like a solid start to next season unhindered by the qualifying rounds for the Europa Cup.
Hoping for a similar scoreline to 1971
Also …
60 years ago – Gordon Bennett is it really!!!
7 March 1959 – Wolves 6 Arsenal 1 40,479 plus me in attendance.
Goals from Broadbent (2), Deeley (2), Lill and Murray
Moment of the match for me – the look on Tommy Docherty’s face as he sat down after Broadbent had body-swerved elegantly past him.
I was also at Highbury on 22 April 1961 to see Arsenal 1 Wolves 5 – Description from “Wolves on this Day” …..
“Whilst having fewer chances than their opponents. the Wolves strikers gave their Arsenal counterparts a lesson in finishing in a 5-1 win at Highbury. Bobby Mason’s close range finish in the 69th minute to make the score 4-1 meant that Wolves had scored 100 league goals for a fourth successive season, a feat that remains unique in English football”
Who says we have a bad record against them?
I’ll have to give some thought to my forecast … will we score 5 or 6? …. let me see…..
I think I’ll settle for 3-1
At a time when MOD gives us every game of the day in HD and Colour with about twenty cameras these references to the early days took me back. Given what we have today it’s hard to remember the offerings in the black and white and pre-video days when we got grainy images on film, which had to be processed before editing and normally three cameras at most.
I wonder if other bloggers were watching when David Coleman dropped his famous clanger. Today TV operations are highly computerised, in those days they relied on complicated manual techniques. MOD used to start in London with the national game(s) of the day and then switch to the regions for matches of more localised interest. This night they announced the switch and in the midlands our screens went black and we had silence – broken only, by the voice of David Coleman saying “I told you you’d make a balls up of that one of these days” — the blackness and the silence then continued.
The beeb later issued an apology about it being a mistake due to the stress of the moment. Those were (not) the days – thank goodness for the benefits of modern technology (VAR excepted).
7 March 1959? I was a week from being born.
I would have been revising for ‘A’ levels and doing interviews in anticipation of the world beyond school.
The period had its problems – the threat of nuclear war for example – but it was a great time to be a Wolves fan – a bit like now – only with less expensive players!!! 🙂
Colour and programme, I think you may mean.
Try telling that to an American spell checker!
If you remember Clive we out-played ’em in the first half and then we went in a goal down. I couldn’t believe it. I thought we’d missed our chance.
I always thought that that snow gave ’em an easy excuse. They certainly needed one.
It was unexpected snow so early in the year and it bombed it down. I was worried the game might get abandoned.
That Arsenal team on the day was as strong as it could be, all their now legendary heroes.
I was in the South Bank and all the goals were up the North Bank end so I only got a distant view amidst all the white stuff.
Then there was that little pitch invasion where the Doog lifted a little black chap up on his shoulder and carried him up the touch line. I was in tears.
I still have that cherished program.
Watched a re-run of the Barcelona v United game, what a player that Messi is, absolutely tore United apart. What I would give to have someone with half his skill in a Wolves shirt. I was really impressed with the way they moved the ball, on touch and then pass, mostly forwards and always to their own player.
I am not inferring we are a Barcelona, not yet anyway but we can learn a lot from the way they play, quick ball, one touch pass and move and retain possession. We are at our best and get results when we do the same. Can we get a result against Arsenal, I think we can.
Well the bottom six jinx still survives after Saturday but the pitch should be looking good from all the manure that Brighton dumped on it. Very much hoping that the voodoo magic conjured up by Nuno for the top six continues to thrive this week.
Wolves to win 2 – 1
Looking forward to this one.
Hopefully Southampton can do us a favour at Watford tonight, leaving us needing a win v Arsenal to move back up to 7th. I don’t care what anybody else says about it being a year too early, I’d bloody love Europe, especially after being in the hunt for so long.
Let’s face it, the MF 3 and Jota and Raul are going to have a lot more space and freedom to weave their magic than they did v Brighton. We needed someone to play between the lines in the 10 role to break a stubborn Brighton down. MGW dropped deeper and deeper after a bright first 20 minutes, while I wonder if we essentially need a Moutinho (i.e. playmaker) supporting the front two in a 3412.
Like I said, the gaps should open up between Arsenal’s MF and vulnerable defence, so we shouldn’t need to worry about this tomorrow night. Agree with Thomas, restore the Donck and go with our strongest MF. Those forward passes Moutinho was desperate to play on Saturday, should be open to him tomorrow night.
I’d go with Vinagre as well. He’s ready to start in one of these big games; he’s improving all the time. There’s no doubting Jonny’s defensive qualities and while he’s improved going forward, it still doesn’t come naturally to him. Jonny also looked leggy in the last 30 at Southampton and on Saturday, so a rest might do him good.
No other changes for me, Bennett didn’t do anything wrong on Saturday. There was not a lot to do for the defence, but things were generally calm there.
I’m not at all confident on this game but will go for a Wolves’ win; 3-2. I agree totally with your team,Thomas, hoping for a cracking display. Jota was unlucky not to score on Saturday and should get more room tomorrow, so, here’s hoping we are at our best…
Will be there a bit later than normal, but I will be there for kick off.
Can’t wait to see us stuff Arsenal 1-0.
Should be a decent game, both teams have decent forwards with plenty of pace.
The two defences have looked a little wobbly lately and that should provide chances for both teams.
It’s going to be tough but I think they have more pace in their attack.
Can’t see us wining this one but hopefully I will end up with egg on my face.
This game could go either way. I too would start with Donc though I thought MGW had a decent first half before becoming anonymous in the second half. Vinagre would be a definite starter for me: I thought he added real danger when he came on against Brighton.
Hoping for and predicting a win.
We are still not over the Watford result and it shows, no win for us this week.
I think I read somewhere that they rested a bunch of players against palace so it looks like we will have to beat their A team
They are desperate though so that may also make them more than a tad nervous and they should be because we are due another vintage performance
I’d be happy if mgw started again tbh , and Vinagre and Traore but what do I know! I’ll happily leave all that to saint Nuno as he spends all his working hours with the players and so puts himself in the best position to make the call
Down in wine region of south west for a few days so will be moving in between the chalet and the grapes looking for the best reception for either Optus live on my iPad or bbc updates on my mobile!
Not too optimistic for a reception but optimistic of a good result come 5am
Got my away shirt ironed ( actually, I didn’t bother ironing it) and ready to hit a few wineries on Thursday
What a season
Utw
Quite looking forward to this one and have been for some time. I agree about Vinagre. Please Mr Nuno give the lad a chance. He can scare the shit of a woeful Arsenal defence !
Lets face it we should of beaten them at the Emirates and I expect us to beat tomorrow night.
Lawro has got us down as 2-0 winners . I’m starting to like the bloke. Twat Merson has us down for a 2-2 draw ffs think that all that coke has finally affected his brain.
COYW
In the reverse fixture I was in a sports bar in Cape Verde being a lone Wolf cheering that goal from Cav & after the final whistle Arse fans agreeing they got away with it & their point.
In this fixture I’d go as strong in defence as possible so it’s Jonny in for me & back to our best at counter attacking with a brace for both Jimmy & Jota.
I’d also bring Adama on at 60 mins to take 2 Arses out every time he gets the ball.
Not quiet a Clive but not far away.
FWAW FOwb & a
I’ve got no idea how it will go, then again who does. Never been lucky on the pools of yesterday or the lottery of today.
Might as well throw an arrow at the dart board, eyes closed. Double 11 is 22, therefore must be a score draw tomorrow.
Brilliant piece of analysis Graham which I totally agree with – two all it is then with champagne football from both sides and Cav to rediscover his mojo with our last minute equaliser from the bench .
COMBs!
Let’s go Wanderers! Great to be playing the top 6 with real chances of winning again!
Keep looking forward to these top 6 games where we have a chance of getting something. We will have more space than Saturday and I fancy us to win but concede first 2-1 wolves
Going for a 2-0 to Wolves tomorrow.
My Grandson’s team have had to cancel their regular Wednesday training session, all but one kids will be up the Mollyno.
Great to watch him play, but better to have him by my side at the Molly.
Wolves 2
Arsenal 0
Stu,
You know what’s gonna be sung tonight then!
“Mi Grandads right, Arsenal are shite, Mi Grandads right, Arsenal are shite!”
Lmao
COMB FWAW FOwb & a
Would start with Johnny, Jota and Jimenez to both score and Traore to come on and show there poor defence up
If we play well there is no reason we can’t get a result here. Like many others would like to see Vinagre given a go, especially if Jenkinson is starting for Arsenal as I think Vinagre would fancy his chances.
Could we not try Dendoncker in the deeper role or Saiss and push Neves a bit further forward? Wouldn’t hurt to try.
2-1 Wolves
Totally agree with the team selection. Vinagre looked on fire when he came on. I also think if we want to get anything out of Traore he needs more than 20 minutes.
I was going to go 2-2 but after reading some of their fans comments I’m a bit more optimistic now. So I’ve revised the draw to a win. That said I’m very aware I must be nailed to the bottom of the prediction league!
Nevertheless we are due a good result
Much reminiscing about Arsenal games above, so I’ll begin with a few memories of games I’ve been to down the years:
1998 semi-final at Villa Park, Bully and Keano on the bench, lost 1-0. Woulda shoulda coulda…
2003 league cup at Highbury, my first time going solo to an away game. Fabregas made his debut, we lost 5-1. The home fans didn’t even start singing till they were about 3 goals up, they were spitting on us from above though. Which was nice.
2004 at Molineux in the league, got to half-time 1-1 and I remember thinking we might get something from the game. 2nd half they played football from another planet for about 5 minutes, scored 2 goals, and then it was game over and they just waited for full time. Bastards.
Those were different times.
Before last season had even ended I made a bet with a gooner mate that we’ll take more points off them than they take off us this season. They have since changed manager, which I think was most unsporting, but I’m still more confident about this game than I was about the Southampton and Brighton fixtures, and I’m still confident I’ll be £20 richer come the final whistle.
They don’t travel well, and they don’t defend well. They are good at attacking though, which will leave lots of lovely space behind them for our boys to run through at will.
This will be like those glorious games against united, but with more goals for us. I’ve been avoiding score predictions this season and it seems to have served us well (nothing to do with Nuno and the lads, all down to my silly superstition), but I’d be very suprised if we fail to take all 3 points from this one.
UTW
I’m hoping the challenge of Arsenal will fire up our team and get them back to winning ways.
I think that they will be up for the fight whereas we seem to have lost our mojo recently.
Hope we get it back so we can close the season out with a victory or two to inspire us for next season.
Pretty chilled about 7th spot but a bit of European football would be nice to see again. I remember watching our games under lights in the 50’s. My dad used to hide me under his coat as we went through the turnstiles in the old Waterloo Road enclosure and I would sit on the wall at the south bank end of the enclosure. I was about three feet away from the right wingers when they took the corners. Never lost the memory and never lost the passion.
However I reckon a score draw for this one.
Four to go and I can’t lie, a little piece of me will be disappointed if we don’t win the Best of the Rest cup. That said, our first season has been amazeballs and anything 10th and above is well above pre-season expectation so a glass or 5 should be raised regardless of how we finish…..
Come on my superlative bambino’s!!!! FWAW…..
Looked like Brighton would repeat the scoreless draw against Spurs tonight. As disappointed as I was after the Brighton draw I sense that our recent poor results will changefor the better. Whether we finish in seventh place or not this season is probably not vital to Fosun’s planning. We are ahead of projections as we are. The Arsenal game is winnable and I’m going for 2-1.
Got to be positive and go for a win. And I also was also a kid in the crowd for the 5-1 drubbing in the snow.
Finally a team that won’t sit back. Arsenal has been leaking in goals so we should score a few. Auba and Lacazette up top are lethal though
Concerned that the players out of the starting team – particularly Cav, Costa and MGW – have all dropped away in the last few months. Suspect the absence of game time in reserves, friendlies or U/23s gives them no chance to recover confidence and form. (Vinagre, Saiss and Bennet seem to be able to cope and hold their form).
Tonight – I think the post FA Cup semi funk may continue and the absence of Jota/Jiminez magic the last few games will make it hard for us to score. Really need to see some of the missing potent Neves creativity and/or shooting…
Fully agree with suggested formation. Oh how I wish we can beat the crap out of the Arse – my email to my Arsenal loving Bro would have so much to say. Having said that, I think we are still suffering from a couple of bad results, so sitting on the fence with a 1-1 draw
Seems like I forgot to enter the score. Glad I checked!!
Time to get back to winning ways and with Watford dropping points to Southampton last night it’s all to play for. Wolves to win it in the last 10 mins
Won 20 Quid from my gooner mate at the Emirates
Now he wants draw at the Mol
Happy days.. a gooner groveling
Will take a draw and give back my 20….but but why not our boys to stick it to them?
Agree with Thomas line up
Vinagre is thrilling to watch

We are due a result. The players must be itching for a win and I am sure Nuno will be doing his best to motivate the lads. Lets go for a 2 – 1 win.
Another great night at the Mol’ . Another giant step for The Mighty Wolves.
A tactical prediction from me trying to overcome a five point cap, I’m behind you !!
Excellent assessment Thomas, I totally agree with the starting line up, we are due a good result and performance and I hope Nuno has the lads up for this one as this could be it. Come on…
Going for a hard fought 2 – 1 win
Like a few on here, I’d back Jota to tear them a new one tonight.
It will require the whole team to be buzzing together in the right way though. Much like we were in the games against Man United, or Liverpool in the cup.
Bennet, Boly and Coady need to be really strong and sharp dealing with their two main attacking threats, Patricio needs to watch out for the occasional long shot as Xaka seems to try his luck quite a lot… but other than that I’m not that scared of them.
I am really looking forward to it, we’ll either suffocate them or get battered early on and struggle to get back into the game from there on. Either way should be a good one to watch.
I just don’t know what to expect these days. Tend to agree with Thomas’ s write up . . . . . .
Just the game to finally move on from the Wembley disappointment. We have the game to take it to Arsenal and I predict another thriller as was the Leicester game where we we would not yield. That said Arsenal are stuffed with quality players and if they hit their straps we might have a mountain to climb, they will be smarting after recent defeats and also want the points. I see it panning out like the Chelsea and Man U games where we had to dig deep defensively before imposing and running them ragged second half. Damp evening under floodlights- it’s a night we could only dream about two seasons ago.
My least favourite team On the planet……Arse……..nal. Cannot stand this club.
Pompous arrogant think they have a god given right to be top dogs. When the fixtures came out at the start of the season many of you probably looked out for Utd, Liverpool, Chealea and City…….NOT me it was the Gooners and I’m praying that tonight they will be goners and Wloves blow them away.
Hate is a strong word but not strong enough for how I feel about the Arse…..nal.
The only time I have been as happy about a Wolves win was when these London big head lost in the European Cup final that was almost as good as getting to the Premier.
If their manager, Dick Emery has any sense he will park the bus. A sure way of getting at least a point. But I suspect they won’t be doing that.So as the thunder and lightning predicted for Wolverhampton later on takes effect the Arsenal players will wonder what has hit them. There is one chap in midfield who has George Berry esque hair and he will be particularly at risk from a lighting strike. Diogo and Raul will be on fire tonight. A bit like that chaps hair. I can see it all clicking and confidently forsee a 4-0 drubbing of the hapless gooners. After the match Nuno said ‘one game at a time.we always look for solutions. I felt sorry for the chap who’s hair was on fire but that is football’ Dick Emery said ‘ it is the first time I have seen a mid fielder’s hair on fire. Next time I am telling him to wear a hat’ WWFC 4 Gooners 0
Listen folks Wolves have beaten Manchester united TWICE and drawn at old trafford, slaughtered spurs at wembley ,beaten Liverpool , drew with man city, drew with arsenal on their turf, beaten Chelsea and drawn at their place.
Wolves are superb against the best teams and that is a fact not a coincidence .
We will beat arsenal well tonight have no doubt in your mind .
Hopefully back to winning ways tonight.
Not a bottom six club so no problem.
Again, Nuno said he hasn’t even begun to think of next year. Game by game.
But we all know that teams are already making contact with other teams about the availability of players and some teams have agreements already in place for summer transfers.
Are we to believe that Nuno is not involved in choosing the players that Wolves will try to sign this summer? Is this not putting Wolves behind other teams by waiting so long before discussing these things?
Mr. Negative has reared his head yet again.
Are you coming to the Bloggers Ball next week?
Sincerely hope so.
Do facts and logic bother you more than being lied to?
Tim.
I’m on the fans Parliament and Laurie Dalrymple has repeatedly stated, “all avenues have been looked at, 1000’s of players have been watched and we have whittled it down to a core of players NUNO wants”.
This is said at every fans Parliament, they know who they want, if they genuinely become available, we do have interest and will put possible bids in.
As we have no longer have inroads or insider info into Wolves under Fosun who run a tight ship, we all rely on the rubbish/gutter press. My head spins at the names mooted about in the papers, but I believe Laurie, he had it right when he said about Jiminez , “we had rights to buy and they exercised that option, but at a price no where near mentioned in the press”. (Laurie’s words)
We have the same arrangement with The Donk and we shall buy him at the price agreed with his parent team last year.
We are doing business all the time, we are actively looking at players every minute of the day somewhere in the World. We have big plans, Nuno like Fosun denies all transfer speculation, but he sits down with Laurie, Jeff Shi, Nuno and Thelwell every single week.
He is playing the party line, if you like me listen to his answers to the idiotic questions fired at him in press conferences you would see, he is totally P’d off with the numpties asking them.
Patience is the key word with Wolves, we had a plan, we are ahead of the plan and I believe we are also ahead of the game too. How many teams would now buy Jota, Jiminez, Moutinho, Neves, Vinagre or even Coady.
As they say in Wolvo, weem awlright our kid.
Tim is the classic clockwork mouse of old.
Wind him/her up up and off he/she goes!!!
Well said Stu. Put that discussion well and truly to bed! Oh wait…. it’s still going. Let the management get on with it I say.
As far as tonight’s game is concerned, I think we’re due some frantic commentary from Mikey burrows and Andy Thompson. 4-3 to wolves should do it for maximum entertainment.
Tim,
I’m with you matey. I really expected Nuno to go on record in his latest press conference as to:
1) who he was going to sack, slaughter and/or move on
2) state who uncle Jorge says we can have for £5m to match the Moutinho deal.
3) who we are signing 1st day after the season has finished both full signing & loans, plus the prices we’re paying for them, what wages we’re gonna pay & cars they’re gonna drive
4) what the season ticket prices will be for 2025/26 season
Thanks for the support but I would not go that far.
I think he should just not say that he isn’t looking beyond the next game and say that of course there is some talk about possible signings.
I think you are going a little overboard.
The way the media jump on an innocent remark and embellish it till it’s become a grossly inflated, absolute statement of intent, any manager worth his salt keeps his mouth shut until ‘t’s are crossed, ‘i’s are dotted and dotted lines are signed on.
Again, I’m not saying he should give any details, I’m just assuming that at minimum Keven Thelwell or someone might ask his opinions on a player that he coached or coached against in Portugal or Spain or who he has seen in the World Cup and he gives them feedback about possible interest.
Anyway, maybe I’m just to anal to think that everyone worries about details like I do.
We are due a win.Lets hope it’s tonight.Probably not though.
The pessimist in me says Arsenal’s forwards could trouble our defence and maybe get the edge they need to bag three points. Obviously, I hope my pessimism is misguided.
Think we’ll beat these
.. looking forward to seeing everyone at the ball bash
Are you bringing the Jagtank?
Only just seen your post mate … jagtank is having a bit of work done .. so train for this one mate
We really need a win to stop the season from petering out.
Under the lights, at Molineux, against a top team could be just what we need.
We need to pass and move much quicker; almost lethargic against Brighton.
Got a good feeling.
All out performance please lads & 3 points.
Usual prediction as no idea what else to put.
I see the price has increased for the My Wolves membership for next season – BUT you get lucky socks!!!!! How cool can you get ?

To quote a certain seaside entertainer with an enormous proboscis:-
“That’s the way to do it!”
Brilliant!!!
I bet Jurgen is wondering what to make of this.
Anyone else feeling a bit gutted it was only 3-1?
Not me…….top marks in the prediction league. 🙂
Could have been a Clive so I’m happy with the final score.
I do believe we have now surpassed Sandwell Town’s record points haul in the EPL which is 49. So I shall be seeking out the Shadow Dwellers tomorrow at work and advising them accordingly. And still three games to go. Can we make it to 55/56 ? Four points is attainable. Soon be time to get the deck chair out, light a cigar and watch the Shadow Dwellers v Vile and tears shed in the play offs. Happy days.
Just in Dubai airport having sat next to a Man U fan on route from Sydney …. we were watching the game on the ICE program… when he saw that we were winning 3-0.
He then came out with a classic….
“You’re doing some giant killing this season….”
Piss off fella…. smell the coffee…
What a deluded prick to come out with that….
Similarly…..my Spurs mate could only remark that the Arse’s season had fallen apart a bit!
