Perennial sore loser Neil Warnock said this result owed more to luck and refereeing decisions than anything Wolves accomplished.
‘I don’t think they won the game, I think we lost it. We didn’t get the rub of the green on certain decisions but you’re away from home and don’t expect that.’
Respectively Neil, I disagree.
This was a satisfying win against a robust, atypical Championship outfit who played the percentages and loaded the box at every opportunity.
It’s the type of game we’ve lost over and over again all season, which is why we’ve been plying our trade at the wrong end of the table.
A milestone victory then and my personal pick of the four straight wins Paul Lambert has now overseen that have catapulted us away from immediate strife.
Credit the manager too because the balance of the team once again looks spot on.
With the exception of the goalkeeper (no offence Andy) I’d happily watch that starting eleven for 46 matches next season and feel confident they’d crack the top six.
Although they couldn’t muster a cleansheet the back four were solid and looking across the line, there’s a nice blend of guile and technical ability.
I’ve got mixed views about Connor Coady at right back but you’ve got to admire his combative nature and he offers a useful contrast to Doherty whose devestating going forward but at times too relaxed out of possession.
Batth is much criticised but Cardiff got little change out of him yesterday and his two towering headers were just reward for an accomplished performance.
Alongside the pace of Hause and with two midfielders sitting in front, the skipper looks far more comfortable. We should be looking to make an upgrade in defence, but quality center halves are an increasingly rare commodity.
There’s a pleasing blend further forward too with Evans and Edwards grafting to win possession and set others free.
Costa, Cavaleiro and Marshall all benefitted and their combination play could just as easily have opened the gates before Batth’s more ‘direct’ route to goal ultimately put Wolves in the driving seat.
Marshall is racking up the assists and will definitely be a key performer next season, regardless of whose around him.
But that’s the key question – who will be around him?
The prospect of retaining Helder Costa seems ever more unlikely. 10 league goals and 8 assists now in addition to his cup exploits must make him the hottest property outside the Premier League.
Now he’s back playing with a few decent technicians around him, it’s clear to see what he could do at a top team. He killed this game with one moment of sublime skill after single handedly accounting for Fulham last time out.
If he does go, as seems inevitable, the only upside is that will free up funds to add several new players to a burgeoning team.
Much to ponder in what’s already looking like a long old summer.
A win against Forest on Tuesday and we can all get the deck chairs out.

Nelli Warnock is a very sad man.
We deserved this win and I deserved maximum points in the prediction league for actually getting something right.
For now, that will do me.
Who we retain next season for a possible promotion push can wait for now, but I’ve done a bit of cutting and pasting from a Fulham blog site to let us all remember who we could have still had if the previous regime had an ounce of sense or ambition.
“Throughout our achievements this season, it’s no surprise our attackers have received a lot of praise and attention and rightly so. While, Tom Cairney, Sone Aluko or Stefan Johansen may be stand out candidates for our Player of the Season award, my Player of the Season so far has been summer signing, Kevin McDonald.
Now, I have to hold my hands up as I questioned his ability upon signing, but since day one I have been made to eat humble pie. McDonald is the architect of this side and is the reason why our attackers have the licence to roam and freedom to play the way they do. Not only does McDonald have an incredible understanding of the game and breaking down play, but the Scot’s passing range is second to none. Having someone of his ability in the heart of the midfield is simply a joy to watch, and time after time this season he has been a wall in front of our back four and has dictated every game. Not only that, but even on some occasions the big Scot has been asked to fill in at centre-half and he effortlessly delivered.
After this seasons performances, it’s no surprise the club pursued the midfielder for nearly 2 seasons before joining and it’s incredible that the team at the top managed to secure his transfer for just £1.25m.”
And so say all of us!
Always been gutted we let him go…..and for peanuts as well
I usually agree with Thomas but not on this occasion.Yes, Wolves played well but in my view the midfield is sadly lacking and we desperately need a player of Mc Donald’s quality (a playmaker)and a prolific striker to challenge for promotion.Lee Evans in my view was woeful yesterday,He continually held up the play and was slow to release the ball. This resulted in players standing still, awaiting the outcome when they should have been moving forward in anticipation of a pass.I for one would not be at all happy with seeing Lee in the team next season and I really don’t know how others like Thomas cannot see this.
That’s my view but in any event UTW
Franko,
I agree, well almost.
Evans put some atrocious passes together yesterday, very reminisent of the Derby game two seasons ago. Yesterday it was his short balls that let him down big style. But his long piercing balls from deep defence to Costa, who took them out of the air like they were glued to his boots were to die for. I kept saying to Jen de wolf I just could not believe his long balls were getting through to the target.
So a 50/50 game for me by Evans yesterday.
Don’t get me wrong Franko, if McDonald was a possibility I’d take him back in a millisecond. Everyone knows how thick we were to let him go, regardless of the circumstances, as players like him don’t grow on trees, particularly in the Championship.
My point wasn’t that Evans was particularly brilliant, more that collectively that eleven has enough of everything to be competitive. You’re never going to have a team that one to eleven contains players everyone is happy with. Even when we won the Championship with 90 points, people still complained about Ward at left back and x,y,z players not being good enough.
Of course you can upgrade individuals. There isn’t a single player in that team who can’t be replaced with someone better, but a) you’ve got to identify the players b) they’ve got to be available and c) they’ve got to want to come.
I agree with all of that Thomas. My point was that the midfield was weak and that Lee Evans when in possession was far too slow to release the ball, and when he did it was more often than not a poor pass.He slows the game down, and as I have said previously players are stood around waiting for the next move, rather than running into attacking positions in the belief that a pass is on its way.If you believe that Wolves can challenge for promotion with that sort of midfield service then that’s fine, you entitled to your opinion. In my view however, we are desperate for a first rate midfield player(play-maker) who can provide good service to the forwards and Lee Evans and also George Saville are far short of the standard that’s required to support a promotion seeking team.
Franko,
I truly believe we won’t see a lot of those guys come August ko time. We have what we have to work with.
I truly believe we may also be working with Bhutti again and not Lambert & Thelwell, but that’s pure spark u lation.
Had a fantastic day, spring has sprung, great to be a Wanderer. Got on the train back to Droitwich and Wo and behold a fellow Wolves Fan.” Did you in joy that” I said. Moan, moan , moan !! We went and sat in first class without a ticket to escape the moaning. You can’t please all the people but you certainly pleased me. We are going to be a class side, Hang in there, go bye a season ticket, sit back and enjoy!!
Hear hear. Brilliant result. But it was the performance that has got me questioning myself. I did not believe we would secure a win, chuffed to be wrong, as I believe we are safe now and look forward to next season already.
You could taste the anxiety in the air as soon as we went ahead; after the season we’ve suffered at home, it’s to be expected. But all our concerns were unfounded; no real problems in the last ten minutes and no goal line clearance in added time. Great goals but what was most pleasing, we continued to ‘go for it’ right up to the final whistle; so much more effective than trying to waste time by the corner flag.
A happy wanderer again.
You’d think, given that he’s only just signed a four year deal, we’d be able to keep hold of Costa. I guess we need the owners to stay firm for once.
And pigs to fly, hell to freeze over and the four horsemen of the apocalypse to have an off day.
It could be, and most likely is, that Senor Mendez has inserted a release clause in there somewhere to force another move for Helder and another payday for Senor Mendez.
Unless he breaks his little toe on the last day of the season and is injured until the window closes. We can only hope.
Yes – there will almost certainly be a figure which will trigger his release – hopefully in excess of £40M but more likely closer to £25M.
Owain Glyndwr, Aneurin Bevan, Sir Richard Burton, JPR Williams, Sir Tom Jones, Max Boyce, Rob Brydon, Dame Shirley Bassey, Anthony Hopkins, Sam Warburton, Jonathan Davies, the Manic Street Preachers, The Super Furry Animals, St David, Terry Griffiths, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Gareth Bale, Neil ‘dirty git’ Taylor & hypocritical Neil ‘not Welsh’ Warnock…your boys took one hell of a beating!?.
Ok, so it’s not the whole of Wales we spanked, but this match deserved a special response.
Mmmm. I can’t post anything on here.
Ah, now I can.
Three league points for our heroes and three prediction league points for me. Good result all round.
Excellent performance by all accounts and especially pleasing that we at last seem to have repeated our often terrific away showings on the hallowed turf of Molineux.
I fear we must enjoy Helder while we can as players of his quality rarely spend long slummin’ it in the Championship. Shame really. The impatience of youth and the greed of agents will see him thrilling a new set of fans come summertime. Hopefully, we’ll join him there before too long.
Onwards and upwards.
COYW 🙂 🙂 🙂
Another win, another great result. I have hope for next season.
Helda Costa – I know it is unlikely he will be with us next season, but what if we could hold on to him for that one season? Would be fantastic. Quality player!
Agree Sevlow ….Sako did …we can surely incentivise him to give us one more season…. it’s not in Fosuns interest to sell him..
Besides he’s young enough..
Well pleased by the result although the torture of not knowing for 15 hrs or so after the final whistle was tough.
I’m not sure about going as far to say we’re safe from R but points against Forest and Bristol this week will determine the mood on May 6th at The Ballbash.
Current form and confidence are certainly pointing towards Mecca and I shall be tuned in tomorrow (wifi permitting) to follow progress.
Let’s get behind these Season tickets sales and reach the 14400 Adult target …always did like a rebate. (But not one of Moxeys ..spend in the club shop crap)… sorry ..
Looking fwd to seeing you Bloggers in May…x
Really enjoyable report, Thomas, cheers.
We’re safe, hopefully we can keep the momentum going into next season
Im not sure if I would of ever see printed from even you Thomas ..Batth..’accomplished’..
He certainly was yesterday.. but myself particularly can’t write off some of his more catastrophic moments in previous matches..
At one stage I thought he was such a liability he could relegate us on his own..but as in all parallel universes he played brilliant in this match..Perhaps it’s PL ..but fantastic and so be it as part of this marvellous Winning run..
Roll on nxt season.. I’m very confused regarding fair play rules and I can’t quite understand or agree why we have to sell Costa which really would be tragic..
This result if we could of had this and the current run say 6 matches before Ipswich we could of been hoping for the top six the way we are playing which is now promotion form..
Crazy Wolves- and crazy if we let Costa go but as regards the close season just how far off are we from a promotion team nxt time?
We are missing a main reliable striker but do we need that no 5 ? I’m now dithering I must say..more so if we play tactically up the pitch and in attack mode..
Confused confused confused..
It was yet another great result.
*Sorry to say due to me being involved in my Pub development I prob can’t make the bloggers ball this year but my thoughts will be with you all..
COYW
Or we could go back to the Mendez stables and get another player like Costa after all
He was kept out of the Benfica side
( by the way , I know he’s good and I’ve said it before , the best wolves player that I’ve seen in that position but we ve lost players before and thought we could never find another , they do come along though
Up the mighty wolves!
Colin Wanker as always been a bitter twisted bastard. When he was gaffer at Notts County, he shouted to Craig Short to BREAK Bully’s legs, FACT!
Very good performance and result against an in-form and very physical Cardiff side – their goalscorer Zahore and their no.14 in midfield were gigantic and the whole side ‘put it about a bit’. With a better referee they’d have been reduced to ten men after that potential leg breaker ‘tackle’ on Evans.
As I said yesterday the change to playing three creative players behind the striker and out wide with Edwards moved deeper where his enthusiastic running can be effective has made all the difference and the triumvirate of Costa, Marshall and Cavaleiro were at times unplayable. It all made for a very open game.
I may be in the minority but I genuinely believe Costa will not be sold. I believed Fosun when they said they want to not just get the Club into the Premier League to survive and make up the numbers, in the fashion of a Stoke or Sandwell Town, but to be challenging in the top six. To do that you do not sell your best players. It is new era now and I think we are all perhaps still weighed down by the lingering remnants of the money-grabbing Morgan and Moxey era. We no longer NEED to sell players so why would we? Bringing in £20m – or more like £30m if the prices paid for mediocre players by PL clubs is any guide – is peanuts to Fosun and compared to the money (guaranteed £180m per year), and, equally importantly I believe, the kudos reaching the PL would bring is nothing.
Four gripes from yesterday – well we ARE Wolves!
Lonergan was awful. Harry Burgoyne should be our number 2 keeper.
Lee Evans did ok but is nowhere near as good as Saiss and if we are to mount a serious promotion challenge next season and are aiming for the title then Evans is not good enough in my opinion.
Weimann had a good game and is a good and intelligent player but I cannot see him as a striker banging in 20+ goals a season and with Costa, Marshall, Cavaleiro, Graham etc I doubt he would be first choice out wide so do we need him? I think again if we take our current standard as the aim then he’d be ideal but if we are aiming to win this division next season i cannot see him as anything other than a bit part player at best.
Finally George Saville. Clearly Paul Lambert sees something in him that I don’t. With the game relatively in the bag (more or less) and with a final substitution to make why bring on Saville? Surely Gibbs-White gaining a few valuable minutes on the pitch would have been the sensible change? It seems almost as if Lambert needs to find a way of involving Saville somehow no matter what which I just don’t understand.
Overall though very happy. I do though think as Wolves fans we should be thinking bigger and better and, like Fosun claim to be, aiming for the very top. Next season I expect us to have kept our best players, including Costa, to have brought in 4 key signings – centre back, left back, attacking playmaker and striker (The types I am thinking of would be Scott Dann from Palace, Andy Robertson from Hull, Will Hughes from Derby and Tammy Abraham from Chelsea) – and set our sights on winning the Championship at a canter.
Am I daft? Of course but I am also fully on board with the Fosun project. They aren’t in it just for the ride lads, they mean business and demand success. Just like me.
OODCL
I’m with you Bedford,
Why would we sell Costa, the only way he’ll go is if he puts in a transfer request and the £25M claus has been achieved – I also think he’ll be with us next year as otherwise Mendes will definitely pi55 Fosun off.
I’m also all for us getting the points needed to stay up and then letting the likes of Burgoyne, Gibbs-White, Bright et all have a number of starts as I remember a young Robert Keane starting off his career in the Golden Palace.
Watched the highlights again today and Danny Batth was MoTM based on the 90 mins but Costa’s goal was special and would have been on repeat if scored by one of the top six….
Great game and a note to PL/Fosun, you will always get the full backing of the crowd when we get something to react to – good or bad.
Happy to be above the bluenoses and now we have Vile in our sights
FOst COYW
Bedders – just take a look at our results with Evans in the side and without him over this season. We are all entitled to our opinion but I just can’t understand this negativity which is directed at him. Its on a par with the stick DB and DE take. We’ve just had three back to back wins with him in the side. he protects the centre backs, puts his foot in and is a half decent passer. I’m not sure what more you want – Price back in the team?
Steppenwolfe – I am not saying he is a bad player only that he is, in my opinion, not of the standard we will require to win the Championship title next season. I quite like him, admire his attitude and have seen him play well in the last 3 games. I do just wonder about him being a bit one-paced and occasionally trying to do things he shouldn’t and getting caught. I do though think he is immeasurably better than Price, who I have never rated at all. I feel that Saiss is a better player than Evans, does the same protecting the back 4 job and is a better all round footballer who offers a greater range of attributes.
It’s all opinion of course which is one of the great things about football where we all watch the same thing but see different things.
Yes we all see different things and that’s for sure. In a couple of seasons time we will know a bit more eh? The lad is only a young ‘un and won’t be at his peak for another few years.
Well said – I agree with that.
However, I know left back isn’t his natural position but, given how largely well and consistently Doherty plays there – why another left back?
I also think if PL’s not gonna give Saiss a proper chance (which he’s clearly not wanting to do), that we also require a better passer of the ball in centre mid – which, amongst other obvious benefits, will mean that we are less reliant on counter-attacking football to open teams up.
Great result, well deserved.
Costa rightly gets endless plaudits from all of us, but just a complementary word of appreciation for the contribution of a couple of supposed bit par players, which in my opinion has had a big input into our recent winning streak. Coady and Evans.
Coady is turning into a very useful wing back. He has decent pace, tackles convincingly and and gets forward well. Now that he is mastering the positional side of his new position, he is defending very competently. He increasingly looks very much ” the business ” and should have a big part to play for us next season.
Evans has made a big difference to our midfield. He is not spectacular or flamboyant, but simply gets the job done reliably and efficiently. Strong in the tackle, he rarely gives the ball away cheaply, and it can be no coincidence that his inclusion in front of the back four has made our central defense look far more solid. He is surely a far more complete player than Price, and now that he is getting a decent run in the side, and his confidence is consequently growing, he will surely improve further.
Good performance at last in front of the Molineux faithful, Cardiff were no push over despite Warknobs bullshit after the game.
Losing Costa would be crazy, as just like the Sako, Afobe and McDonald scenario’s he’s got to be replaced. Now if I recall, Fosun have shares in Medez not the other way round, so Jeff Shi and Sky Sun should be having a word in that greasy twats ear and warning him off. Quite bonkers to sign a star for £13m then sell him on M&M style just for profit when £180m calls in the PL.
But if he does indeed fall to the lure of a better club, then another Portuguese winger 1 year younger than Costa ia attracting interest from Spurs Man U and Liverpool, a certain 22 year old called Bruma playing at Galatasary.
Now, maybe just maybe the PL clubs would rather take a punt on Costa, give us a shed load of cash and leave the field open for us to plough. The fact that his Agent is a certain greasy haired twat called Mendez might mean that all this has been construde long before Costa signed in January. Kerching, Kerching…
Call me old fashioned, (I did love the Monkees) but I would dearly love to keep Costa, the finished article is always better than trying to bed another Portugueezer in before an assault on the League next season. If it all goes Mendez up then there is a young pretender waiting in the wings who everyone seems to be raving about.
Then there’s always Saville, who can play anywhere his Dad asks him. (Perish the thought)
After all Lorrie McPimple said we can’t hold on to Costa, can’t have the Video walls and the PA system would be a tall order to replace.
I rest my case….
Onwards and back track, back track.
Ok Stuwolf, you’re old fashioned – but I like the cut of your jib
I’m afraid that for an up and coming footballer, Jam today will always trump jam tomorrow. If Chelski come a calling, why wait for us to reach those dizzy heights. I fear that if we hadn’t agreed to let him move on when he wants to, he simply wouldn’t have signed for us ‘permanently’ anyway. That kind of arrangement would, of course, suit Senor Mendez perfectly.
First half we went in ahead because we had taken our chances. How often have we been able to say that this season? Batth showed a killer instinct that our actual centre forwards have been lacking.
Easily the best home game I’ve been to since Reading back in August.
On the train back to London I think I ran into a keen reader of this blog (Stephen?), though the details escape me owing to an extended post-match drink with my old man before getting on the train. Nice to meet you anyway Stephen if you’re reading.
I heard about this conversation mate and can confirm you have the name right 🙂
Good point about Batth actually getting on the end of something. Those were the type of goals Bodvarsson should have been scoring all season.
Fuck off warnock u lost now shut up.u prick
Good win three more points would be lovely to make it 5 in a row tomorrow
Anyone know the latest on graham
I looked over Jordan,
And what did I see?
Paul,
Graham and Zyro are to have a behind closed doors friendly match arranged for tomorrow,
Graham and Zyro bags one goal each.
Those Bloggers who are intending to dine at the ballbash are politely reminded to place your meal choice on the Bloggers Ball post, as I need to submit pre-orders to the hotel by the middle of this month. Thanks to all those already done so. I will post an update on here next week.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you there both during the day and in the evening.
Sorry Brompton would love to join you all but I have a significant birthday on May 8 and am required to attend party with friends on 6th and family on the 7th. Hope to join up with you all soon.
Regarding the Evans debate have always believed every team needs a guy who wins the ball then passes it to more skilled players.
Read this load of bollocks from a bitter and twisted idiot.
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2017/04/03/neil-warnock-wolves-wont-improve/
That’s lovely!
I particularly liked the last bit.
‘The Wolves supporters gave Warnock plenty of stick during the game.
“That’s normal isn’t it,” he said. “I love it. I nearly showed my backside to them but it was inappropriate today.
“I’m looking forward to giving them a good clap next time I come.”
a) I should imagine that Warnock’s backside is always inappropriate. I hope I never have to find out.
b) He’s not giving me the clap if I have anything to do with it. In order to do that he’d have to touch my backside.
And that’s DEFINITELY inappropriate!
Just to stick my nose in the “will he, wont he” be here next season debate.
Zenga was appointed and failed, and was replaced by PL, who we assume has the backing and trust of Fosun.
Costa was signed permanently after PL had time to check him and other players out.
Presumably Fosun listened to their choice of manager, to his choice of player.
Fosun have a clear, stated intention of getting Wolves to the dizzy heights of the top of the Prem.
That cannot be achieved by selling your prize assets for what, to them, would be peanuts.
Mendez might be pushing for triggering a sell clause, but he doesnt own Fosun.
What I think is going to happen is that we will sign some good second division players to get us promoted next season, then, when that has been achieved, sign some good Prem players to keep us in the Prem, and THEN, sign some great players to win the title.
And dont nobody say it aint possible.
Look obviously at Leicester, but also, and I cannot believe I am writing this, but look at where the shit are, with a team full of mediocrity!
Wouldn’t we all, honestly, trade league positions with them?
I agree with Bedders, we will not sell Costa, any club who comes sniffing around, and any press reports of ” interest” from where ever, can all go and fuck off.
Fabulous result on Sat, only two short of getting my prediction correct again!
FOwb
Ah, such naivety in one so old. Kinda sweet really Clive, ain’t ya.
Great result and performance against a tough team. They caused us a few problems after we scored and I’m pleased we have a bit more toughness about us these days to stand up to teams. I’m convinced we would have lost this game in the first half of the season.
Good performances from Batth, Hause, Edwards, Evans, Marshall and Weimann. And despite having a quiet game Costa pops up with that bit a flair that can make all the difference. Fantastic skill and composure.
On the subject of Costa I hope Fosun can use their working relationship and influence with Mendes to keep him here for at least one more season. We all know that sadly all contracts mean these days is that you can recoup a transfer fee and are no indication of how long a player will actually stay at a club. Ultimately Mendes and Costa will decide on the future and we all know he’s too good for this division. Reports the weekend linked him to Monaco where he spent last season on loan.
Let me think – Monaco or Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton or Monaco……
The beer’s crap in Monaco. And megabucks. And tiny with more froth than beer.
No contest.
totaly agree , the beer is shite in monaco so there is absolutely no point costa going there !!!
I thought he drank coffee.
Is that why he’s always full ‘o beans?
The Monaco link was revealed to be an April Fool’s ‘joke’ later on that day.
There was some irony that our not too tall centre half scores two headed goals against a defence boasting some giants, and a team that thinks aerial bombardment from log throws makes for entertaining football. Dinasaur Warnock, the most ungracious twat in football.
I predicted the score right, and said that our front four would be too quick and mobile for the away defence. The performance was the best I can remember this season at home and I really enjoyed the game and the football we played.
If we can carry on with everything against Notts Florist on Tuesday, then the club should be making plans for something really big next season. The prospect is mouth watering.
It seems we did the right thing,
http://www.nottinghampost.com/joao-teixeira-has-been-waste-of-money-at-nottingham-forest/story-30245577-detail/story.html
It would be a bit special to keep Costa on the right and buy back Sako in the left…we would rip a few new ars**les indeed …..that leaves Benteke in the middle…
I jest not….
And Sako has lit up the Prem how many times this season?
If you are so desperate for a former gifted Wolves player, Peter Knowles works in marks and Sparks………………..
We need to move forward, with players who want to help the club achieve greatness, not who think they are great, and are not.
If Sako is so good, why do he not play regular, like?
Don’t always agree with you Houston but this time you are spot on. And I’ve never forgiven The Jehovah’s witnesses who tempted the legendary Knowles away.
How he’s performed for Crystal Palace doesn’t matter much to me. For wolves he was surely among the best players. His long range shots where excellent, and he often went past 3 to 4 players on the left side. In wikipedia he’s registered with 38 goals in 118 matches. How many assists he had aren’t listed. If he signs we would have Sako, Graham, Zyro, Cavaleiro as wingers. 3 left sided and 1 on the right. We’ve also been linked with Bruma which play for Galatasaray, a right footed winger. Don’t think we’ll get him because Spurs and other clubs are also interested. Zyro and Graham can also play on the left side, although it’s not ideal.
Wow. You agreed with one (just one though) of my posts and I am now doing likewise.
I am with you all the way on this one. Sako should stay away. We DO NOT need him. There are much better players out there now.
Well done Wolves fans, Lorrie McPimple and the team results of late, we are getting there. Only need to sell 3000 ish Adult tickets between now and end of May and it triggers Wolves own Brexit style article 50.3, paragraph 2, subheading 11, line 3 and a rebate, now being a Scot and calling for Nicola Sturgeon to be Caramelised, I like the sound of a rebate.
http://www.wolves.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/read-season-ticket-sales-through-13500-3655214.aspx
What’s the difference between a loose squeaky bearing in your car and Nicola Sturgeon?
If you switch the car off it will stop whining.
What’s the difference between a loose squeaky bearing in your car and Neil Warnock?
WARXIT: The act of propelling a Sheffield windbag out of Wolverhampton next time he sets foot in it. Usually enacted by a large fuck off Doc Marten boot to the arse.
A great result against Cardiff. It makes my position in the Prediction League look slightly more respectable.
Realistically the difference between the two sides on Saturday was Helder Costa. At 2-1 the game was not yet won, but that dazzling goal from Costa was like a dagger through the heart; game over. We all know he’s too good for this division. With this form his value must be rising at about £1mil per game as he’s also proven that he can score sublime goals again PL teams. If the worst comes to the worst and he’s sold (updated FFP regulations to take into account) I take comfort in the fact that Fosun are singing from the same hymn sheet as the fans, inasmuch as the massive proceeds will be well invested in new players.
Up the Wolves. Positive now for a bit anyway.
The win made even Thelwell’s programme notes uplifting!
Having 4 skilful mobile quick forwards makes the whole team function better.
It seems Lambert sort of knows what he’s doing. I just hope the run continues and we’re able to genuinely challenge next season for the top slots to go to the promised land.
Do hope the owners back us as there is now some promise in the ranks.
I just read that in an interview with ‘FourFourTwo’, young Master Helder says he’s really enjoying playing in England and that now his big aim is to help get Wolves into the Premier League.
As even the most optimistic amongst us would realise that ain’t gonna happen this season, he must mean next season. Which means….do I have to spell it out? 🙂
I was annoyed at how the report tried to turn it round too. They said something like, he is enjoying his time at Wolves but wants to play in the Prem, suggesting he wanted to go. The word “but” was not used by him. The media piss me off at times.
