While blissful movie goers were blasting off to a galaxy far, far away last night, Wolves too were exploring familiar territory.

Another home game, another encouraging start but ultimately another failure that leaves everyone erring on the dark side.
It’s supposed to be the warmest December in yonks but with only two home victories all season and no win at Molineux in over two months, it’s starting to feel decidedly chilly around WV1.
And the manner in which Leeds blew us to pieces inside 15 minutes either side of half time must have sent a cold shiver down the manager’s spine.
But what about that start though?
Other than one out-of-nowhere effort that thumped off the post, Kenny Jackett must have been chuffed to see his side very much in the ascendancy.
The returning Benik Afobe wasted one excellent chance before converting another and Wolves just kept on coming.
Jordan Graham was again balletic in his approach play and looked easily the best player on show.
The McDonald-Price axis were also turning the screw as the home side got hold of the midfield and totally controlled the game.
But then something changed.
Perhaps it was the substitution Steve Evans made or maybe Wolves just lost focus, but suddenly it was Leeds who were exploiting spaces and creating chances.
Their equaliser was bubbling away for a few minutes before it dutifully arrived and after the half time oranges, they took it up another notch.
Wolves simply had no answer to their pressing, their physicality and their tempo as the visitors tore forward.
Had it not been for Carl Ikeme, three would have been four, five or six before anyone could catch their breath.
Credit to Graham for dragging us back into the game with the excellent run and cross which was expertly dispatched by Nathan Byrne.
Both of those players kept the team moving forward and almost salvaged a Christmas miracle from the wreckage of that second half no-show.
For every person that’s sick of hearing this team lacks experience and leadership at the back and cutting edge in the final third there are two people who’ve grown tired of saying it.
And you don’t have to be a Jedi master to know that if our home form doesn’t rapidly improve, there are much darker times ahead.

Report spot on Thomas. The force is not strong with this team right now Leeds score, Wolves give up!
Why aren’t we starting with 2 strikers on the pitch is a mystery to me. We need goals so shake things up a bit & try something new!
At this rate Afobe will be off & if a decent offer comes in for Graham I suspect it will be accepted to bolster the accounts.
We looked weak. I don’t mind being beaten as long as we tried. Last night we just rolled over.
The dark side approaches & I don’t see things improving sadly.
There is a good team in there somewhere but we never get to see it for ninety minutes.
How can 30 minutes of dominance lead to such headless chicken haplessness?
It beats me and I’m pretty sure that it beats Kenny Jackett too.
He picked the right team and they set off like an express train. So why did it come off the rails so quickly?
Can you blame the manager for that? I don’t know. (I bet Steve showcase does).
Or do you lay the blame at the feet of a side that lacks the heart and the character to match teams that go at them.
I am depressed. So to cheer myself up I’ve taken StuWolf’s lead and composed a couple of Christmas ditties.
The first to the tune of ‘Jingle Bells’ and the second ‘Oh Little Town of Bethlehem’.
Jingle bells, Moxey smells
Morgan’s gone away
Kenny Jackett’s lost the plot
And our defence can’t play.
Oh Wolverhampton Wanderers
How low we see thee lie
We’re on the slide and every side
Is passing us right by
I can see the writing on the wall
We’re heading for the drop
No heart, no pride, nowhere to hide
Please God just make it stop!
A Merry Christmas, one and all!!!
Hi DG ..jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way oh much fun it is to see Wanderers win away coz we need to as we can’t f…..ng win at home mate .. Can the manager be blamed ?
You bet your Arse he can I have bored everyone to death regarding the first half of the season without conceding Williamson comes in like Jesus (fairly current in Dec) and does the business and even trains our Captain..(I won’t say ‘Coach’ as that’s KJs title )
Now we have to endure EBL / DB and here we go again..If KJ doesn’t recognise that we could of won 2-0 by not conceding then call him Ostrich
Relegation is doubtful so far but where would we be now If we hadn’t conceded so much which also pisses off our forwards or goal scorers…
Sure KJ was pleased how we started as we all were (with the right team) although Ikeme saved some blushes….2nd half we dismantled ..
EBL must be replaced by another experienced loan player to save us all before the big big new owners come in..
Then …..well …ask KJ what will happen…
All too right Thomas – don’t think I have been so despondent for ages.
What’s more I took my mate to the match who is a Leeds supporter – you can guess who was happier on the return journey home.
At the risk of being repetitive to the flaws we are all so familiar with……..
1) Sell R.Stearman – good move??? Answer the Q -Moxey/Morgan/Jackett
Mike Williamson has already answered the Q for you.
(EEL – is worth a goal to the opposition every game.)
2) Play Ojo when Jordan Graham is a star in the making -Answer the Q – Jackett.
3) Continue to lump balls into the box and bring on 3’6” tall ALF when you’ve got Grant Holt on the bench – Answer the Q – Jackett.
If as is rumoured we sell either Benik or Graham in the winter then that’s it – I give up!
As it stands we will not be mid-table, we are looking to be in a relegation struggle.
I don’t hold much hope for this team.
Like the last televised match I watched, KMac, Price, Iorfa, and Graham seem to play for 90 minutes.
However the remainder seem to play for 60 minutes, and give up for 30 minutes.
Why does James Henry play?
Apart from the knock down for Afobe’s goal, in the last 180 minutes of football, he just flatter’s to deceive…
Like Edwards.
Don’t make a run and then pass to the opposition!
It is sad to see.
Anyone, who thinks K.J. is anything other than a ‘yes man’, thinking of his salary, before the team, needs psychiatric help…
Woeful.
We will be lucky to escape relegation……
That’s stretching it too far. We’ll continue to win some and lose some. And maybe we’ll win more games than we’ll lose if we sign a couple of good signings: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/12/18/report-derby-county-watford-and-wolves-linked-with-abdoul-camara/
I think it’s a bit strange that we want to sign a left sided winger now as J. Graham has shown us some of his potential. Of course it’s always nice to have a strong squad, but I’d rather expect Wolves to spend money on a central defender and a striker.
I’m sorry Doog but I’m with Steve Showcase. Jackett does not know how to respond when things aren’t going our way what he should of done was taken Edwards off and put Holt on which would have given us a more physical presense.
Why just the 1 striker, ok it seemed to be working the first 30 minutes but , the game lasts 90 so why no changes when we are struggling. Same against Forest we let them back into the game.
It seems like Jackett is clueless when teams come on to us, once Leeds had smelt blood that was it game over.
We have some attacking players now in form, Graham, Byrne and yes Afobe so why only 1 striker. Jackett has in my option hit his level not to mention a brick wall and yes I know what some of you will say he’s done this and he don that yeah yeah but ill tell you this they way he is going not only will he be remembered for get us promoted he will also be remembered for getting us relegated as well.

Im a disabled life long fan now.living in devon last night was the best 45 and the worst45 ive seen in a match.jacket just stands there, lets see some passion like other managers. Get rid.of the board please along with moxey
Even I have to resign the things aren’t that bad after seeing that whitewash last night.
Physically overpowered, by a team we dominated for 30 minutes.
They lack fight & leadership as when things go against them they do not know what to do.
We need players like Sam Byam, Dallas & their no 11 they ripped through our guys!
Changes for Sunday. We don’t have many if any options. But we have to end our passivity, & inject some bite.
I’d play Coady & Price holding. Have McDonald further forward, with Afobe up top. Henry replaced by Byrne. I’d try & find a place for Doherty as well, maybe Iorfa moves into EBL’s place. But we need to start a recovery of sorts soon or worse beckons.
Copied from the last post:-
If you can keep your head whilst all around is losing their’s and all that Kipling cake stuff.
Glad to see the participation in the Xmas theme, because boys and girls, and I mean this with the upmost respect for the wonderful people on here, we bloggers that go to the Home and away games are getting the full picture. We have endured this shite defending and have to stand through it all, week in and week out, not just the tarted up highlights on Sky. As I say 100%, I love you guys and gals on here, but the standard of this team is not good enough, (understatement of the week)
I was the one that started the EBL knocking on the blog, and after last night anyone that watched for the 95 minutes cannot have any doubt what so ever that the lad is not ready.
So.
I for one am resolved to the fact we are going nowhere this season, we are not bad enough for relegation and top 6 is at this moment in time a pipe dream. I was a defender in my youth, a shite player but a defender none the less, so my interest lies there and we have no defence for last nights performance, worse than kids stuff it was pathetic defending and we canmot ignore it.
Kenny’s post match interview when asked if the results were down to lack of experience in the defence, “it is what it is” well I think reading between the lines it sums up our dilemma, we have no strike force, midfield are taking too many touches and our defence has no confidence.
Half time on the North Bank the talk all around was Bernie Ecclestone, I pray to God, ” There’s no smoke without fire”
Christmas theme.
Regular bloggers may recall my beating the drum for Fanny Draham and Nathan Byrne, well Nathan Byrne’s goal last night…….
Pure Missile toe.
Onwards and onwards and onwards and onwards…… I think you get it!
🙂
What many don’t realise is that DB and EBL are big fans of this blog, and last night felt it only right to listen to Stu and ‘do something Christmassy’. What they gave us last night was their audition piece to be be the front and back end of the Pantomime Horse at the Grand this year. The only problem was that the great producer/director KJ hadn’t told them who was supposed to be at the front and who at the back. So we had an hour of comic capers before they sorted it out, by which time it was too late. Their performance lacked the subtlety and timing of Laurel and Hardy, it was more the inane stupidity of the Chuckle Brothers. Highlights included DB doing an impersonation of a cyclist pedalling backwards for their second goal – the only problem was he went so far back he almost trod on Ikeme’s toes – as it was he blocked Ikeme’s sight of the shot. Danny, unless someone hasn’t told you, you hold the line on the 18 yard line.
The piece de resistance came after the second and before the third. Both ends of the horse managing to trip each other up near the penalty spot and allowing the ball to run to Chris Wood 10 yards out with only Ikeme to beat. The fact he didn’t score made me glad we didn’t sign him – mind you he could have been pissing himself laughing at the two ends of the horse frantically struggling to get up. If you didn’t laugh at this you would end up crying buckets.
So, having come to the conclusion that it’s unlikely we’ll be making the playoffs this year, and also realising that it’s unlikely we will go down, how do we make the best of this shipwreck/transitional season. T’was rumoured that pre-season there had been a ‘difference of opinion’ between KJ and Bob the Builder. KJ wanted to bring in a couple of experienced older heads (which has been the traditional way to get out of the Championship), whilst Steve Morgan wanted to rely on young and hungry. Given that experienced older heads would be on higher wages you don’t need to guess which way the Pieman voted. Could the way forward now be to look forward 18 months, and bring in two experienced players in January who will be guiding lights for next season. They could be briefed to mentor some of the bright young things that Stu is always praising, and indeed they could be given several games under the watchful eye of their mentors once survival is guaranteed. This would give us the nucleus of a side that could really go places next season. The only problem is that this needs a sizeable chunk of malice aforethought, and I’m not sure whether KJ or Moxey are capable of that. I’d like to be proved wrong.
One definition of insanity is that you keep on doing the same things but expect the result to be different. Do those that keep turning up at Molineux find that somehow familiar? It’s a bit like Catch 22 – you need to be mad to get out of flying, but you need to be mad to fly in the first place.
Glad tidings of comfort and joy to all those mad enough to follow WWWFC.
I agree with what you say except your comment that ” EEL is not ready” This must be the understatement of the year. THIS YOUNG MAN IS NOWHERE NEAR GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY IN THIS LEAGUE. In my opinion, he`ll never be ready . League 2 at best is his level.
The ONLY way we can move forward is to somehow get some experience at the heart of the defense. Bad enough that we`ve forgotten how to score, but when you can be certain BEFORE the game even starts that we`re going to concede a few because of downright incompetence in the center of our defense, what hope have we got ?
Everyone seems to believe that we`re too good to go down. Wrong. We are playing like a side heading for a relegation battle, and it seems that our inept coach has no idea how to redress our free fall.
Yes, what a horrible night.
I watched on apprehensively early doors but then Wolves scored. We then had them on the ropes but it all went pear shaped when their first sub came on. I did hope that KJ was going to make some changes at the turn around to combat Doukara but instead the onslaught continued.
KJ really needs to freshen things up on Sunday: Dave Edwards looks spent and James Henry a no show.
Why can other managers change tactics when things are going wrong and yet Kenny doesn’t seem able to. It can all be summed up as BAD:
Bad luck: Dicko’s injury
Bad judgement: Selling Stearman
Bad patch: for Kenny and Afobe
Both plan a and b are with only one striker. We need a plan C. Although we played with Dicko and Afobe up front. It’s almost as if Edwards interprets his role as a central midfielder and not a deep striker, or as if WE interprets him playing in a central midfielder role because he’s a midfielder?
Baffled, bemused, confused, disappointed.
Pick any one because I am all of them.
I had my rant just after the final whistle last night. I also had to take shit off our Leeds supporting newsagent this morning, fair enough because I am quite prepared to hand it out to him.
A, hopefully constructive, suggestion for a team for Sunday in a 4-4-2 formation, I know we are away but just go for it.
Ikeme
Doherty, Batth, Iorfa, Goldbourne
Byrne, Price, Coady, Graham
Mcdonald, Afobe.
Can’t be any worse than last nights shit. And final memo to KJ for GOD’s sake don’t let EBL on the team bus let alone the sub’s bench. I have said before he will never make a player as long as etc.
Also have seen a report that the scouse bastard is asking £15m for the club plus an extra £15m on promotion to the Prem, any takers?
Tactically out-thought by Steve Evans. Now that’s not a line I expected to write. But his early substitution changed the game. He went for it with two up front while we, at home, had the lone striker. And whilst I agree that Graham has brought some excitement into things, his crossing does need some work. For every good cross, there was at least one that was too low and easily cleared, not that he was alone in that sin. Very cool finish under pressure from Byrne! But a depressing Xmas entree.
So here it is, Merry Christmas, there’s no Wolves fan having fun, as Noddy might have sung.
all i wann know is how the hell is he still in a job … many managers with far better results have been axed alreayd … ohhhhh thats right, nobody at the top gives a shit !!
ive backed kenny, based on his previous 2 years, but as the sacking of mourinho highlights, you are only as good as your last performance …
Time to go Kenny, and take that fat sack of shit moxy with you
Gonna say one thing only GET NIGEL PEARSON H’ell give them a rocket up their arse’s.
Jackett blames everyone but himself.
I agree with you John.
However, Pearson, surely, will not come and work for Morgan/Moxey…
Until we get new owners we are stuck with KJ.
Well first of all the positives from last night……
1. The pre-match grub dished up in the Thai, Darlington Street was simply delicious. (Marinated chicken, sweet chilli sauce and egg fried rice).
2. The homeward journey was not quite as bad as first feared – “overnight roadworks, lane closures etc etc” are a right lanced boil when travelling home after evening fixtures. Only the M6 from junction 1 to the Catthorpe Interchange was a real pain up the arse last night. Therefore I was safely tucked up in bed with a steaming mug of cocoa by 12.30 and hoping flashing nightmares of our defence did not occur.
3. The fact we had absolutely nothing to discuss regarding football during said homeward journey did mean we could feast our ears on such musical treats as Golden Earring (Radar Love), Thin Lizzie (Whisky in the Jar), Eddie Cochran (Summertime Blues), Steely Dan (Reelin in the Years), Hawkwind (Silver Machine), Gerry Rafferty (Baker Street), Stevie Wonder (Living for the City) and a host of other classics from yesteryear.
4. Easy to have a ssip at half time with only 17,000 present. (19,500 was simply a fictitious number based on all season ticket holders attending – our steward confirmed the actual number in attendance was 17,000 or so). More lies Jez?
5. Zoomed up the Black Country Way to Junction 10 – hardly a vehicle in sight.
6. Jordan Graham
7. Carl Ikeme
Now the negatives.. where to start lord knows.
Well we all watched the match whether sitting in the dreadfully sparse crowd in a half empty stadium or on Sky – another in our endless list of televised games.
From my perspective the first 35 minutes represented the best we have played this term – not that there is too much to compare it against since August as it has mostly been pants.
After missing a sitter – or maybe he should have squared the ball to Edwards – it was a relief when Afobe finished with suitable aplomb. Other chances went begging and I prayed we would not pay for our profligacy.
Trouble is a game of football lasts 90 frigging minutes. During the first half when we were undoubtedly on top I remarked to my neighbour “we need more than the one because sooner or later Leeds will get chances”. Sure enough Ebanks-Landell went AWOL attempting to close down a Leeds player. Nobody filled the gap and bingo 1 apiece.
I have difficulty remembering when Wolves capitulated in such a fashion after that. It was acutely embarrassing frankly. Can anyone remember our defence either going missing or failing to put in tackles in such as fashion? Certainly not since Roger Johnson sodded off to India.
After the break it became a real comedy of errors with Ikeme keeping Wolves in the game – until Dallas simply brushed aside Price and Ebanks-Landell and smashed the ball past Ikeme.
Then that most bizarre of mix ups between Ebanks- Landell and Batth gave ex Wolves target man Woods the chance to increase the margin but from my vantage point Ikeme made the stop of the game.
Why bother he must have thought when Leeds scored again a few minutes later with a header borne out by dreadful marking and another defensive mix up yet again!
Despite the Byrne goal from another good cross by Graham somehow we all knew another fruitless home game was on the cards.
Bumped into Mel Eves before the game and in a very brief chat I asked for his take on what was happening at Molineux. He was non-committal but the look on his face said it all.
So as we slump towards the lower reaches of the division and the possibility of a relegation scrap beckons just where do we go from here? On this evidence and with Big M small organ rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect of pocketing further riches when the January transfer window opens it looks increasingly grim down WV1 way. It will remain so until (or if) the club is sold and hopefully a new direction is paved and positive initiatives taken.
After two seasons of what was looking like a bright new future here we are backsliding again.
What a completely wasted opportunity to build on the newly found momentum. What a slap in the mush for the supporters – those that remain that is.
Aside for Portsmouth (and maybe one or two others at most) there cannot be another club in all 4 divisions who balls things up as regularly as the management and players of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club.
Surely a new motto on the shirts should read “a fuck up – a right fuck up”.
Star Wars characters at Wolves.
Obi wan ki knobend ……………….. Any takers for who this might be at Molineux.

See my reply to Mr Doogooder ..
My current concerns 1.can we keep away from relegation 2 can we replace EBL by another Williamson.3 can we keep Afobe..
We all face a life changing experience
if / when we get new owners and unless we address the above then it will effect the sale..
Thankfully our Youth set up is one the best in the country and is worth shit loads..
I expect some news will break soon regarding a potential sale …due diligence must be going on..
So the pantomime season is here – at least judging by last nights defensive display. A game turned around by one simple substitution. As soon as Doukara came on at 30′ and they switched to 4-4-2 we were in trouble. I stated in the post-Forest comments that I’m no fan of 4-4-2, but here it was screaming out for us to match up to them in that formation. We finally did when Le Fondre came on but by then the match was lost.KMac was kept quiet by Doukara dropping deep which meant no creativity. We are crying out for someone who can play in the 10 role who can either play Afobe in or can score themselves. I like Edwards but he has his (technical) limitations in this role. Speaking of limitations, EEL is being regularly slagged off on here but for me Batth is even weaker, lacking pace and strength. Not looking forward to Wednesday on Sunday …??!!??
Cheer up. Here is the xmas quiz. Who destroyed The Shit at the Shit thornes in 1983 ? A/ DANNY CREANIE B/DANNY CREANIE C/ DANNY CREANIE . How shit is West Bromwich ? Well I’m screwed.
My Jen de Wolf found a bra and pants in my car, needless to say I’m spoiling my own Dinner, she went Apeshit. But, Don’t know how it happened but I got away with it.
She grabbed them from under the car seat and demanded “who are these” ?
I said, ” just think of Christmas”
“What’s that supposed to mean”, she said.
I replied, “Theyr’e Carols”
Anyway a little carol of my own, dedicated to the planks at the top of our club
who have no regard for us loyal fans.
To the tune of – O come O Ye Faithful : Lyrics?
O feck off All Ye Faithful
?Tearful and blind optimistic?
O Sod ye, O Sod ye at Molineux
Come and let’s scold them,?
Boring Kings of feck all;?
O come, let us ignore Them,?
O come, let us ignore them,?
O come, let us ignore them,?
Sack the Board.??
O Sing, choirs at both ends,
?Sing in expectation,?
Sing all that fear the shite of Moxey’s unholy word.?
Give to our Kenny, money for someTransfers;?
O come, let us implore Him,?
O come, let us implore Him,?
O come, let us implore Him,?
North Bank and the South??
With hate! Morgan, we detest thee,?
You ruined our happy season,?
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name deplored.
Word of the Father, Sir Jack his flesh is crawling;?
O come, let us abhor them
O come, let us abhor them,?
O come, let us abhor them,?
Christ we’re bored.
Like it StuWolf,Cheered me up no end, very appropriate .
Can you do one for Poxey,He might feel left out…but make sure you mention Scrooge.
Sung to the tune of Rudolph the Red nosed reindeer
Moxey the Red-Faced Greaseball
Has a very dodgy job
And if you ever saw him
You’d even say that he’s a slob
All of the other C E O’s
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let the fat bloke
Pick a team for any of their games
Then one dodgy Christmas Eve,
Morgan came to say,
Fat boy with your nose so brown,
Won’t you pull this great club down?
Then all the Wolves board loved him,
As they shouted out with glee,
Moxey you red faced greaseball
You’ll go down in history!
Moxey the red faced greaseball
Has a very big brown nose
And if you ever saw him,
You would even think he knows,
Some of us loyal Wolves fans
Love to laugh and call him names,
We’d like to keep the greaseball
Away from all of our games,
Find a buyer we believe,
Santa make our day,
The fat boy with his nose so brown,
We want to run him out of town?
How all us Wolves fans loathe him,
And we shout it out with glee,
Moxey for all your treachery,
You’ll go down in history!
That was great also StuWolf, don’t know you do it.
Looking forward to another.
Glad i’m fuckin off to South Africa on Tuesday half 5 from heathrow. Look out for our Gornal Wolves flag on telly boxing day durban 1st test SA v England.
What a shambles,
A team without a spine or spirit which roles over without a fight at the first sign of any setback
A team whichcannot score at one end of the pitch and which leaks goals like a sieve at the other.
A team, inadequately selected and prepared by a coach who is tactically inept, and long past his sell by date.
Oh, but all is not lost. Come January we can sell our prize center back EEl for a few million and convert our jack of all trades Edwards to replace him and become a formidable stopper at the heart of the defense. At the same time we can take comfort in the certainty that our great recruiter, Mr T, will bring forth 3 more useless midfielders for next to nothing one of whom can surely be converted into a goal scoring machine.
What a shambles.
It seems the blog troops are getting restless..KJ please note…
Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy and happiness and love, not sympathy.
Sympathy is all I have for you lot who have had to put up with that shit all season.
The first full match I’ve watched this campaign, so here are my observations.
I am reporting on what I saw, not having a dig at anyone on this blog.
Afobe.
Took his goal well, but that’s all he did. Caught out on the wing loads of times, hasn’t got a left foot, and totally missed a header when easier to score.
Edwards and Henry.
Both should be nowhere near the first team, both half a yard too slow, no idea about control, and who to pass to.
Graham.
One good cross all evening, leading to an irrelevant goal. Needs coaching on when to do the Ronaldo dance, when to dribble past his man, and how to deliver accurate crosses. Shows enormous potential.
MacDonald and Price.
Bossed the show for 30 minutes, without any real killer, defense splitting passes, then faded into total obscurity.
Back Four.
A veil needs to be drawn over that performance. Utter disgrace, total capitulation, no leadership whatsoever.
Ikeme.
Got real lucky that Wood cannot shoot, made a couple of good saves, but should not have been beaten at the near post for the game changing goal.
ALF
See Edwards and Henry above. Total waste of skin, fuck him off back to Taffyland.
The other sub (forgot his name)
Took his goal well, but wasn’t on long enough to make a proper impact.
Jackett.
I’ve seen more life in a wax museum. No apparent communication with the players during the game, and obviously none at half time either. Well past his sell by date on that showing.
As I said, that was the first game I’ve seen in full this season, and those of you who watch week in week out will no doubt have differing opinions.
What I am sure of, based on that joke of a performance, is:
a) We will be difficult to sell
b) There is no bottle in the players
c) KJ is doomed
d) We will struggle to avoid relegation.
I honestly hope some or all of the players read this blog, and others, to get the full power of our frustrations with them.
Leeds wanted the win more than us, and their players are not world beaters.
Why cant our lot do the same?
And if I had been at the match, and seen that fat prick on the phone, I would be on the run now, and that worm would be getting used to hospital food, through a straw.
FOwb
Well clive that was epic to say the least, but true…
Hope we avoid a relegation fight or battle, but its a bit black over bill’s,if you know what I mean..
It was my first ‘full 90-minute’ viewing of the season too, and I can’t disagree with a word Clive has said. After the first half hour (when we were *very* good), we just seemed to have no plan and no energy. Jackett looks like a dead man walking (but not walking very far or fast).
The defence is all over the shop; relegation material.
Graham (our best player by a distance) has shades of Matt Jarvis. Looks a million dollars on the ball, until it comes to the small matter of crossing the damned thing, when it turns into bit of a lottery.
4 assists in 5 games, that’s the kind of lottery I would like to enter this yule!
Agree with every word Clive….
Well said.
Yes as a regular at the Golden Palace,& doing just 2 aways this season both of which we won. I’d agree with Clive’s assessment.
We can play well, Blues away, Huddersfield at home& some of the home draws but we always look vulnerable.
Leeds worked this out & got Stuart Dallas to run at us, we crumbled because no player sussed out that he’d need to be tackled! This is a constant failing we press but never consistently.
We’re short of 6 players to seriously trouble the top 6. 2 defenders of experience, 2 quality forwards, a winger & quality midfielder.
Or Joe & Kenny have to coach what we have to greater heights. They also need to work out a system of how they play 90 minutes & win games.
The plan at the end of the Leeds game to have Coady at centre back & Danny Batth up front was laughable.
I had thought there was a silver lining but Thursday nights shambles was the penny dropping, we’re a long, long way from the Promised Land.
I agree with much of what’s been said already, and am far too depressed to try to add anything of worth.
I’m just gonna go into a dark corner and sulk.
Interesting thread. The knee jerk reaction to the poor results is still tending towards writing most of the players off as not good enough. The defence obviously needs sorting out but can we replace the rest of the team with much better ? How ? Where from ? What with ? The chances are it could all result in a worse squad of even less potential. When you think of previous Wolves teams in the Championships the limitations are always there.
Stearman’s sale was the biggest cock up; it’s cheating us fans as this season is a write off after last season’s promise; yet again we failed to invest properly in summer and ultimately had a worse squad kicking of the campaign. You will never dominate the whole 90 mins, which is why a solid defence matters. Waste of money goiung to see games this season. SEll up quick Morgan. Let’s get Stears back in January, then it will all have been a bad dream….
You’re quite right mate.
There have been some almighty cock ups performed by the ‘Men who know’ (LOL) at the Molineux this season but the sale of Stearman – as I think I might have mentioned at the time – was the biggest cock up since Dirk Diggler went fifteen rounds with Linda Lovelace.
Whoever sanctioned that particular piece of business deserves to have his genitals removed with a blunt pair of pinking shears.
Over to you Clive!
The person who sanctioned that piece of business never had any genitals in the first place, nor guts nor spine.
Would be a wasted airplane ticket.
No Genitals, no Spine or Guts……….
That’s a worm.
Yep spot on with the assessment as usual you two.

What puzzles me is, when Stearman was sold, virtually every commenter on here would have put their life savings on the deal being a complete disaster, and said so in no uncertain terms(with the notable exception of Brompton 🙂 ). No ‘benefit of hindsight’ here. It was as plain as the nose on your face that Stears was the rock on which our defence, and therefore our team, was built.
How much are those who made that stupidly crass decision being paid for their expertise? And who’s doing the paying?
It could be that the 2M’s are just liars and knew all along that selling our double player of the year would end in disaster but wanted to swell the bank balance regardless. I’m sure they would both deny that serious insinuation. It’s not for me to call two such fine upstanding gentlemen liars but one thing is for sure. If they really believed that Stearmans departure would actually enhance our teams defensive capabilities, and they may well do, then they are far too stupid to hold their current positions and should p!$$ off forthwith.
Hear hear!
Unfortunately, the only p!$$ing they do is over us poor buggers.
When we’re winning and everything is going swimmingly we look a great side but as soon as we concede we can’t cope and look a completely different side. We were bullied in the second half yet if we’d made our dominance count in our last two home games we would have had six points and not one. I thought Jackett was a manager who wasn’t afraid to make tough decisions, then I saw Ethan Ebanks-Landell play football.
When did EBL ever play football?
It was a game of two films. The first 30 minutes Star Wars: The Force Awakens the next 65 minutes Battlefield Earth. We played like a right bunch of Psychlos. Let’s hope the next game is the start of 2016: A Wolves Odyssey not Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Sorry Tipton Exile, attempt to play football. After the calamitous collisions, the most farcical moment came when trying to head a high ball out of the air it scraped off his forehead and he slipped over! Centre back’s bread and butter. Hate to single players out but he looks out of his depth.
Well, finally able to watch the Wolves play and I’m stunned at the lack of effort in the second half. The back four are horrific. All academy I believe but three of the four still have limited experience and it shows. I bet some of us on here could do a better job, well maybe..
KJ looks like a deer in the headlights. Does he have any ideas at all… No passion, no facial expressions. Come on mate, throw a fricken tantrum now and again. Fans and players want to see it. The Leeds manager pulled more faces than I pull my pecker..
How disappointing to finally watch a game a lose to Leeds. Seven points from the drop zone, not looking to rosy at the moment is it..
Afobe gone in Jan so Jez can secure that nice commission check (late Xmas present to himself) Who else will be sold??? I’ve been catching up lately on players that have since moved on. Why don’t want to go back to Wolves. Lee Evans comes to mind.
I don’t think the players we have are poor. I think most of them are good and the best is yet to come but… I don’t think Kenny can get it out of them. Good leaders / managers do that.
Dear Santa.
Please may I have for Christmas:-
James Stunt & Bernie Ecclestone as new owners, £10 billion between them that should do.
Nigel Pearson as manager not coach, as managers seem to manage and shout, coaches carry lazy people.
Curtis Davies, you know him the one that single handedly kept our forwards out.
Soulemane Doukara he’s the guy that tore KJ’s team a new Butt hole on Thursday.
Sam Byram, he scored the goals so easily and doesn’t want to sign for Leeds.
Adam Armstrong from Coventry, Newcastle see potential and he could prove to be like MW.
Please could you find a nice home for KJ, he did us proud but is not up to the task.
Oh yes, and we don’t like that selection from the box we’re left with, those M&M’s are Shite.
Oh yes one more request, can you make sure England get kicked out of the Cricket quickly as usual, so Cheeseburger can get back to talking shite with us instead of watching paint dry in South Africa. He won two tickets in a draw and the poor sod thinks he was going to see a “Nissan Main Dealer”.
Shirley Knot.
🙂
I’m at Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow, if you can keep that Danny Batth and his clone EBL at Molineux tomorrow, that would save Sheffield people getting their presents early.
Thank you
Sheffield wednesday 2 wolves 2. Keepin it goin since 1963.
