I said before the game we’d find out where the ceiling was for this team as the fixtures begin to get tougher.
Well, the ceiling just got higher.

This was without doubt the most complete performance of the season against the best team we’ve played, according to the league table.
But they were second best today as Wolves out thought and outmaneuvered them to deservedly take the spoils.
Every player was excellent and made their contribution to the win, but there were a few worthy of particular praise.
Neves was at his majestic best, running the midfield and almost showing off with some of his passes.
Make the most of his partnership with Moutinho because I suspect when they do eventually leave it’ll be a while before we see a duo with the same poise and intelligence in the middle of the pitch.
Kilman was the pick of the back three but all of them played their part in keeping Antonio on the periphery of the game and winning most of the aerial balls in both boxes.
As we tried and failed to play out from the back in the opening exchanges it would have been easy to start hoofing it long, so credit to Sa and the boys in defence for sticking with it and eventually breaking their press to put Wolves in control.
We held a vice like grip of the game from that point on right up to Raul’s exquisite finish for the only goal of the game.
What a goal it was with Neves, Semedo and the increasingly influential Podence all involved to create what was still barely a half chance for our main man.
After the premier of his BBC documentary it was poetic to see that side foot rocket nestle in the net and the Mexican soaking in his adoring crowd. Boy, how we missed him.
We had to retreat and defend to see out the game but I thought we did better at breaking up their pressure and Traore’s slaloming runs certainly helped in that respect.
But the fact we were able to dig in and repel their considerable threat from crosses was another big tick in the box for Bruno’s Wolves.
We’re sixth in the table, we’re above Man Utd and most satisfyingly of all there’s no sign of that ceiling just yet.
Long may it continue.

Bloody marvellous victory. Well deserved. We were in control for large proportions of the game. Just missing that clinical finish in the final third. I really enjoyed that. Fabulous stuff. Wolves Ay We !
Worthy of the memory of Ron Flowers, legend, whose halo shines a bit brighter upstairs. 1 lv.
Indeed Rasta mate. A true legend. And I pay tribute to the Hammers fans who 100% joined the pre match presentation in his honour.
1 lv Cheese. Talking of old Irons, worth a look at a blog in post match melt-down. I’m on p.17.

A thoroughly professional performance against quality opposition, resulting in a well deserved victory, tells all who will listen you that this a team that is very much on the rise. Bruno is to be congratulated on the major impact that he is having, both in terms of the way that we play, and results.
Since the whole team to a man played superbly, picking out individual performances is probably unfair. But a word for Podens, who was simply outstanding. Also time, I think, to point to the form of Semedo who is now showing his real real quality.
And all this improvement with minimal support thus far from Mr Shi. It is to be hoped that he will ensure some strengthening in January to give Bruno the tools with which to build on the impressive start that he has undoubtedly made.
Mike
Fantastic achievements to date from Bruno against all the odds. With you 100% on the need for backing in Jan. We still have key injuries, Boly and Saiss off to the African Cup and a squad that was too small at the outset.
We are on the verge of challenging the status quo again – don’t let the opportunity slip through your hands again Jeff.
Most predictions didn’t see that coming. Thouroughly professional performance. What an honour it is to have Neves in our team, MoTM for me. Well done Bruno for a tactical masterclass, against a very good and riding high West Ham.
Nice to see London Wolves Loyal too in the subway. Hope the finger gets better soon Matt.
Thank you mate ..Nice to see you too

As we gathered at Nick’s Place, home to Houston Wolves, there was not a squeak of support for the Ammers, despite Nick’s Place being their base as well!
What a joyful morning of all things football!
The shit lost, manure stuffed again, Donkeymcguire sent off, and a marvellous all round Wolves performance.
It dough get much berra than this.
Every Wolves player had their socks well and truly pulled up, and the Ammers ad no hanswer!
The only bloke on their team who came away from the match with some credit was Fabianski, who played a blinder, coz we made him!!
Once again, some poor finishing had a lot of bums squeaking towards the end, but for once, we didn’t retreat into a defensive shell, and saw the game out quite comfortably.
Well done lads, an excellent performance, well deserving of all the praise.
Now we just need Sir Lewis to win tomorrow to round off a perfect weekend of sport.
Lovely Jubbly.
Loved how we burst their bubble.
Whilst I predicted a win I was really hoping for a point as I thought they would be too strong for us. After a rather unsettled first 20 odd minutes I was concerned but we then kept the ball and played some good football which we continued in the 2nd half. I felt their keeper kept them in this until the whistle.
Probably one of the best results so far this season.
Great team performance, fosun should back him in jan to get in europa position, time to get more drunk, love u all bloggers, wolves aie we.
This season, Wolves have stuck mostly to three game plans.
1) Play well and lose
2) Play badly and win
3) Control most of the game and then sit back and concede right at the end
But now we’ve seen a new one – which is, incidentally, by far my favourite:-
4) Take on a team that is in superb form, one that is tipped to challenge for the Champions’ League, one that is expected to take the three points if they just turn up, one with ‘better’ players in almost every position… and outplay them for most of a pulsating match, scoring a sublime goal, defending superbly…
…AND WINNING!
Every player deserves the utmost praise with special mention to Ruben Neves, who, together with Moutinho, bossed the fabled ‘Ammer’s midfield, Max Kilman who must be looming large on Gareth Southgate’s radar, Daniel Podence who, after a shaky start, showed what a player he can be when he puts his mind to it…
…And Raul Jimenez, who is just the best all round centre forward that I’ve witnessed in Wolves’ colours since the man who gave his name to the stand that I watched this performance from.
Meeting up pre-match with Brompton and Lord and Lady Twix followed by a rather boozy evening with The West Parkians and Wolfstroker, just set the seal on a perfect day out in the Black Country.
I could take a few more of these.
Sherry, beer, red wine, white wine, port, brandy…. What happened to The Baileys we were promised Barbara?
No lemoncello???
We left that at home.
Barbara says she will try to save some Bailey’s for next time….but no promises.
I will bring some limoncello.
Great summary DOOGooder but I disagree very strongly with one comment. You say Raul is the ‘ best centre forward you`ve seen in Wolves colors.’
I say he`s THE BEST centre forward I`ve seen. Anywhere. Any time. His work rate is phenomenal. He plays wholeheartedly for his team. His personal skills are exceptional. That he scores fabulous goals with great regularity is icing on the cake.
We could ask for no more. But there is more. He just loves our Club and our fans. He leaves us in no doubt that he appreciates our love for him, and that he actually wants wants to play for us. Not only a truly great footballer. But a great guy.
I couldn’t agree more , said the same thing to my mates on the way home … we play super football and lose , play scattergun rubbish and win ….now finally we play well and win against good opposition. Really enjoyed the game
Well done Wolves. Watch out Liverpool were showing our teeth
A wonderful performance by just about every Wolves player! A joy to watch! After the first 20 mins I said we are starting to play some “liquid” football! Never quite got there but real close!.
Someone insulted us by offering 4M for Killman during the last transfer window. What an insult for apparant future England player. Getting real close!
And Tarore! I thought that since he has missed 4 great breakaway potential moves in previous games that if he had scored any of them, would be contender for goal of the season.
But I thought the law of probability must kick in. The next time he breaks away, the odds are that he will score! But alas, not today! Strange odds!
Another great result. You know, 19 points from our last 9 games is Champions league qualifying performances! More power to us! Great result, great exciting performance!
Let us stay under the radar, while they talk about Ollies demise, three new managers, and Chelsea’s coronation of the premier league title etc, etc, etc.
Congratulations Bruno , keep up the good work!
Ok
I’ll
Admit that I
Winced when I saw the team sheet , having advocated fur fielding more muscle
What do I know ?
Nada !
Podence is the best value for pound out there…and the little Portuguese guys ran rings around their midfield
And if that shot from Traore had hit the net …or Kilman’s volley .Ah well
Next time for sure
What a top quality performance all around
Now to see if we can like professionally extract 6 points from upcoming bottom sides before ….the Big One
………December 4
Hi mate, are you booked in APV for the Liverpool match? Also will you be joining us in Lupo Lounge later that evening (6.30pm)?
Greetings bubblebusters.
Noting the general pessimism pre match, following the poor performance at Palace, this great result must come as a pleasent surprise. Not even bothered T didn’t get his hat trick.
Hey we’ve got this far and no mention of Cap Coady? Top down nails mentality. Moyes Knows he got kippered. What a 6th place! And as some bloggers have pointed out, with Manutragic getting spanked by Elton John, this result couldn’t have come at a better time for we saft optomists.
Despite fears Deano can’t keep up, he limited refs abuse of power and even carded Rice pudding. Super Ken ref monitoring squad in full effect. All in all a v. satisfactory afternoon of Brunoball.
1 lv & COYW.
Manutragic. Love it
No copyrite, help yourself. Came across that discussing the criminal waste of footballing talant that was Bogba 2/3 years ago (the saga continues) with a Manubrother. Probs lodged in my brain from a Sun headline.
Thought Kilman was amazing, but as pointed all the players did their bit in yesterday’s fantastic win. It felt good.
One through ball from the irrepressible Neves was sublime and deserved a goal, but Raul’s flick just evaded the Hammers net.
All you can really say is onwards and upwards! Yesterday they looked a really good unit, leaving the ground you could feel the happiness of those in Old Gold!
Enough said!
Well done Bruno and the team. An excellent performance against a very good West Ham side who were not allowed to perform because of our control of the game. I thought all our players had good games and Neves and Kilman were outstanding. I’m still not sure how we are 6th overall but I take that as a positive as the only reason I guess I’m surprised is because of some of the inconsistency of our performances but it now looks like it might be all coming together. Keep up the good work lads!
Enjoyed the live streaming, Wolves were fantastic.
I wonder if the MOTD commentator was watching the same game as me, Neves pass to the wing was a misshit shot, Spam were not performing.
Bol**ox to the lot of them, deserved sixth well done the whole team
Our 6th place is fully deserved, make no mistake. 12 games is a large enough sample to give clear indications of where we stack up and what we can look forward to.
Games where we’ve played well with no reward, games we’ve perhaps been fortunate, they all even out.
So hanging on to the coat tails of the premier league big boys is a position most Wolves supporters would have snapped up a few months ago. We are 2nd in the form league over the last 6 games, inevitably behind Chelsea. So on a upward trajectory. Remember after 5 games we were sat 16th !
Looking down at the likes of Man Utd, Tottenham, Leicester and Everton is a good feeling. We should be pleased with where we are but mindful that there are 19 other teams who want to win. Spurs will kick on with Conte in charge. Man Utd too, once Zidane is appointed. Watford are a different proposition with Ranieri at the helm. Palace are flying under Viera and Newcastle will start to improve – eventually. Even possibly Villa.
This is what makes the Premier League so exciting – it never stands still.
But we should be looking forward with confidence and belief. The team is coming together under Bruno. European football is a real possibility again next season, but please, with a bigger squad. But we have to keep battling.
As for Raul Jimenez. You couldn’t make it up. Near death on 29th November after suffering a fractured skull and bleed on the brain. Match winner and MOTM 20th November 2021. What an inspiration for us all.
UTW
Well that’s made me feel a right prat for my doubts about the result. Even Dean had a passable game.
I should have known better than be so pessimistic pre match, this club always seem to come up with a surprise when least expected. Well done the lads and long may it continue.
Watched the documentary on Raul last night, if you have not seen it take a look. God has that lad got some guts and we should be thankful that the club have got such a brilliant medical staff around them.
Over on the BBC HYS on the match I have to give praise to the Hammers fans eho were very gracious in defeat and praised Wolves for the performance. What sport should really be all about. Well done them.
Great game- great result .
Moyes said his players weren’t quite on it? Bollox, they were on it alright with a chance to go second I believe!
We just didn’t let them play.
The ammers fans a pretty decent tbh and will agree that we just deserved the win .
Lots of talk about recruitment in January which is notoriously difficult to get over the line, so I’m not getting too excited.
Neto and jordao ( spelling!)to come back soon plus the young South American centre half will boost the squad but my main concern is how well neves is playing and the attention he will get now .
Keep what we have got and bring in a centre mid and possibly a centre half and I’ll be happy but lose neves and or traore and we will then need to have replacements lined up !
Only 12 goals conceded and we are now above all three teams that beat us at the start of the season and left us bottom, happy with that and we’ll done Bruno ( you don’t need to watch through the gap in your fingers anymore mate, )
Come on you wolves
Didn’t see that coming at all. What I’d imagined to be our weakness was our strength as Moutinho and Neves ran the show.
A great all round performance, probably the best so far this season.
Why on earth did motd not show Traore’s run and shot?
Agreed Cheese, the genuine WH fans could see we had done a job on them and said fair enough. The hype from the media before the game made the victory sweeter. Neves & Semedo both outstanding, Kilman continues to flourish (although Southgate will play him in his best position on the left of Coady) while for me, Podence was wasteful in the first half and much better in the second. Traore lifted the crowd and got us up the pitch plus taking three players out of their spaces. An asset which other players don’t have and why we need to keep him.
Full marks though to Bruno today though and his measured comments. “Winter fixtures look tough, points on the board now are important”. Enough said.
Our results under the radar of many media outlets. Less pressure. All good.
UTW
Many bloggers comment on how much they hate the international breaks. Well, I just love them!
Every few weeks, Reuben gets an all expenses paid holiday to his beloved home country whilst watching his international colleagues toil away in a failed World Cup qualifying campaign. He then returns invigorated with fresh legs, a point to prove and never say die determination to produce a performance like that.
Fernando Santos must be a closet Wolves fan to pick relative dross like Paulinha over the wonderkid from Porto.
What a fantastic performance and win for our boys in old gold. I don’t think many of us would have dreamed of being 6th in the table after our first 5 or so games, and one in the eye for my daughter’s boyfriend (Spurs season ticket holder) who was mocking our league position back then. I was very tempted to send him a “mind the gap” text, but know how quickly things can turn around, so I’ll sit here quietly, feeling very smug. Sometimes silence can speak a thousand words. Saw the Jiménez documentary last night too. Far too short at 30 minutes, but felt immensely proud of our club. Nuno came across as a fantastic humble, human being, as did Coady, and what a lovely family Raul has too. By the end I was wiping away a tear or two. So proud to be a Wolves fan.
Well that’ll teach me to doubt our team. Well done lads.
We’re a difficult side to work out at the moment. After the no show against Palace we were once again impressive at home.
The key is Neves. If he’s given time and space to dictate games we play well. Having a player like Raul also helps of course. Where would we be without him? We should appreciate such a top class goalscorer while we have him because when he’s gone we will miss him. Pleasing to see Podence grab his opportunity too.
Make no mistake, this was a great result against a top side. They may have had an off day but that was because we made ourselves hard to play against and did the basics well.
While it’s hard to work out how good we are and what we’re gonna get from one week to the next – away performances have been dire lately – when we’re sixth in the league you can’t complain. Two big games against Norwich and Burnley. Should be targeting six points before a tricky Christmas period. It’s rarely that straightforward..
Best so far this season.
All credit to Bruno Lage who now has this squad performing as a high octane well balanced unit.
It’s a pleasure watching football at Molineux again, well done to all.
Which one was Declan Rice?
He’s the one who can only address the ball with his right foot
Just looking at the table and Newcastle are almost at the stage where they need to win 1 of every 2 games just to stay up. It’s looking bleak for them. Would be quite funny if they went down after they were all out on the street dressed as oil barons.
Muttleigh, As did I, has picked up on Mark Chapman’s comment on MOTD about Wolves being “under the radar “. I love that and hope it continues.
So many media experts and pundits set up teams in a successful run to fail as West Ham found to their cost.
It amuses me that the MOTD programme planners preparing the order of running decide to screen the team 17th in the Premier Form League first. A team with a disastrous record this term and one that that played poorly
and was beaten deservedly by a determined Watford side. I imagine that the last thing the publicity seeking owners and fans of Man Utd wanted was for that fiasco to be streamed around the world. Presumably it was news , not the quality of football informing the planners’ decision. As a licence payer, I would have hoped that the quality and excitement of a match that would have determined the order of screening, not the precarious plight of a club with whom they are obsessed.
Every Sunday and midweek day, the football sections of newspapers and sports programmes are full of page after page of pieces on the same clubs. The remaining 14 or 15 simply are afforded a few lines.
Having shared that, I have to say that I am pleased to see Wolves to be “ under the radar”, low profile, but winning and performing well. However, even if we were top of the league, Man Utd would continue to receive the lion’s share of coverage.
Ron would have been proud of them, as we are of him. Bless him.
Lovely prematch get together and a great evening. In between was a glorious game of football by our guys. The pity is that Wolves only won 1-0.
Sleepout update: I’m absolutely gobsmacked to have raised £515, at the last count (closing date is 31 December). Thanks to everyone who has given. There are a fair anonymous donations, so I can’t thank everyone personally.
Pre-Christmas get together, 4 December: we still have a couple of places left if anyone wants to join us on the evening of the Liverpool match. It is £5 deposit per person. Let me know – the more, the merrier.
…fair few.
Love to come but i had a bad fall and was just fitted with a new artificial shoulder.
All trips to the football temple cancelled until February at the earliest, weather and wife permitting.
Thank god for live streaming and chocolate.
Hopefully bloggers bash in May?
Bloggers bash in May?
Thomas, Thomas …. is this happening or would you like us to organise something ourselves. Don’t want to tread on your toes if you are planning anything. If not don’t feel obligated though. We can sort it, as you know.
Ouch! I hope the shoulder heals quickly.
Well done! You are a star.
Just to be clear, I refer to West Parkian. As a child, I lived near the West Park and lying in bed at night, I used to hear the Park Keeper, walking around the park, ringing his bell to warn everyone that the gates were about to be locked. The Park was my playground. As a pupil at St Jude’s Primary, we used to walk to the park for footy. Happy days.
Thanks mate. The Park is fabulous, but the birds can get a little noisy in the evening.
Yeah. To have so many, they must have been going cheep. ?
Sorry I missed you on Saturday Steve. Had to get home that night.
I lived opposite West Park from 1956 – 1966. Went to St Jude’s 1955 – 1958. When were you there?
Midfield Wanderer, I was born in 1945 so I would have been at St Jude’s Primary from 1945 to 1956 , so we missed each other.
We had Mr Wheatley for footy in the park. A lovely man.
The Head was a tall man with a small head called Mr Mott.
On our last day, he caned all of the boys in our class.
Where did you live, Park Road West or East?
We were fortunate to have the park on our doorsteps.
Sorry, 1950 to 1956!
Park Road East four doors down from Billy Wright/Joy Beverley who lived in Park Avenue. Footy with Mr Wheatley and later Mr Poole. I played in goal for St Jude’s. In the 1960’s used to play however many a side and jumpers for goal posts in the field next to tennis courts in West Park. Peter Knowles would often turn up and play – he was very young but wouldn’t be allowed today. Oh happy days.
In the St Jude’s team , I remember Paul Vincent, Geoff Turner, Clive Carroll, Alan Sharples, and Geoff Hallett.
I can picture those big games on the field near the tennis courts. I remember PK playing putting around the tennis courts. He froze a Triumph Spitfire with his initials on the door. For games with Mr Wheatley , we played on the other side of the Park near the chalet. I remember there was a bowling green there for “The Sons of Rest”!
I remember Mr Poole. Good times, except for the caning!
I never knew Billy and Beverley lived in Park Avenue.
That must have been handy for work.
Drove, not froze!
Late to the party… literally
I’m over from California to see new grandson in London and then his dad, my son, is driving me and new lady in my life up to Wolverhampton on Dec 3
Staying two Nights at Park View hotel and have tix for Match!
May not be able to do dinner as other friends joining but would love to do
pre or post game drinks with fellow bloggers… hope so
Will check back
Nearer the time
See reply below
Up to 6th! Where did that come from. The reporter on Talksport said at halftime it was a very poor match with nothing of any note to mention. Well not if you’re a Wolves supporter cos that’s exactly how we want to be, outplaying and out thinking a very good side, we were in total control for large tracts of the game. That’ll shut the naysayers up for at least a week. We are still not the finished article so it’s gonna be interesting esp when Jonny and Neto come back and a couple of new faces in the January window. UTW
If we are not intending to / able to bring in any new signings in Jan. perhaps it would be wise to take a long hard look at some of our own players out on loan for possible recall. Boly and Saiss are gone for weeks.
MGW and Sanderson are obvious candidates.
And what about Campana, Dadashov and Corbenu. If these players are good enough to play for their countries surely they’re good enough to sit on our bench.
Even Leo Bonatini could put in a 10 minute shift Yes the forgotten hero of 2017.
Hopefully with Jonny, Jordao, Neto and Mosquera back. a bit of luck with injuries and a contribution from the above we can maintain our current form through the rest of the season.
But whichever way you look at it we desperately need more bodies
Bruno v Nuno no contest ..same team.. choices.. same players ..
Fantastic attacking Positive football
and I rest my case about Nuno..
Moyes stick that up your arse..
Brilliant result..
Very harsh.
Also delighted with Bruno, but Nuno did more for WWFC than any manager since John Barnwell 40+ years ago.
The King is dead, Long live the King.
Last season under Nuno was awful but this statement can’t go unchallenged. Same team? That is, apart from Raul Jimenez, the match winner who makes such a difference to the side. Doh!
Short memory or what? We had three excellent seasons under Nuno.. We can only hope for the same under Bruno.
Bit harsh Stevie Lad. NUNO was immense for us. Brought something to the club that no other manager has during my time following the club.
I will always remember him with a warm heart.
Nuno is a legend to all true Wolves supporters per say. Nuno knockers need to give their head a wobble, esp now he is not even in charge. One bad season blighted by injuries pushed out the door for questionable reasons. Bruno hasn’t quite found the right ingredients yet for what was promised, there’s plenty of creativity but he needs to sort out our finishing so we are we are more clinical, putting games to bed earlier so we don’t need to sit back on slim leads.
And ….. Traore’s run was awesome ….. but he failed to see the pass to Jiminez was the better option …. headless chicken yet again. But, yes of course you think he is our saviour pmsl. He has had far too many chances. I say sell this luxury player and buy better, as there is a lot better out there.
Firstly, much credit to the Wham fans for their impeccable response to the applause for Ron Flowers. An excellent display which shows that behind the banter, we’re all at heart fans of the same game.
Secondly, I urge everyone who hasn’t yet, to watch the Code Red documentary on IPlayer. Yes, it’s about football and a footballer. But more than this it’s about family, relationships and how a man in the prime of life and the pinnacle of his profession almost lost it all in a moment. A lesson in life and thus a lesson for us all.
Excellent work by ‘Wolves Studios’.
I can’t add more about the game that hasn’t been said above, so I’ll not bore you. Suffice to say we were excellent, especially in that scintillating second half.
Forgot to say it was great to meet up pre-match with a couple of friends I’ve not seen for ages and later with DG, West Parkian and their ladies for drinks and discussions. Always enjoy your company folks.
Conor Coady. Wolves, England and MoTD pundit. What a top chap.
So here’s a question.
At what point in a season does “The Top Six” appear?
Is it after 10 or 12 games?
Is it based on league position?
Or financial clout?
Or media hype?
Or does it ever change?
Coz, as of now, there are two usurpers in the top six positions, who incidentally played a very good game of football on Saturday, who are keeping out two of the regulars.
It is interesting that those two regulars have been in turmoil, both on and off the pitch, most of the season.
This situation might not last, but I for one am loving every minute of their humiliation, and would love to see one or both of them get relegated.
How many of my fellow bloggers remember the mid seventies joy of watching the great Denis Law score a backheeled goal for Man City which effectively sent Manure down into Division Two?
Priceless!
And I am NOT with everyone else who seem worried about our visitors on December 4 th.
We have given as good as we’ve got in every Prem and Cup game with them since we came back up, and old Kloppie, with his new contact lenses, will be trembling at the prospect of whether unplayable Adama will be on the pitch.
No, we won’t win every remaining match.
But we have the look of a team who believe they can.
Oh what heady times to be a Wolves fan.
Clive the “top six” correlates to the media coverage each club receives and are based in London or the North-West and have to be prepared to abandon their fellow clubs and their UK fans to form a so called super league. Because of the difficulties two clubs are currently under it will for now have to be known as the top eight. Soon to be hopefully the top twenty two.
Sorry I missed you on Saturday Steve. Had to get home that night.
Well I certainly placed that post in the wrong place. As you more than likely realise that was for you Mr Dickens.
It’s not all about me Steve, as Jayney’s always telling me. But I thought it might be.
Nay mind buddy, there’s always next time, which in my case is two weeks time.
You too?
Liverpool on the 4th
That’s the one. Hopefully catch up then.
Definitely if you are coming to the dinner.
Bearing in mind that I wasn’t at the match, and my only view of the action was the woefully brief MOTD video, I’m still chuffed to bits at the result. And where was that very Traore-esque mazy run that I’ve read about, dragging defenders out of position? It wasn’t on MOTD. OK, he didn’t score but that run might have pulled West Ham back for all I know and prevented an attack. I know the Hammers are shit-scared of Traore. Shame that Raul’s sublime clip trickled wide but his superb goal linking up with Podence was masterful.
After the first few matches I thought that Bruno had enough in the locker to keep us treading water safely around midtable till the January window. Then expect a really good second half of the season, top seven, as long as we make 2/3 crucial signings. Turns out that I’m damning Bruno by faint praise. I was always a fan but he’s doing even better that I hoped. This is not to criticise Nuno. Nuno laid the foundations for the club we will become, and that is regular participants in Europe.
Well, we’ve gone from playing well and losing, to playing badly and winning, to playing badly and losing, to paying well and winning! What a journey! Where are the negative posters on this site now? Paul AD something? And others? Would love to hear their thoughts.
Great to see Captain Conor on MOTD last night. I can see Kilman joining him in the England squad before too long. Together, they are even more than the sum of their parts.

Traore’s run towards the end, should have laid it on Jiminez though who was in space on his right though.
http://www.hesgoal.com/
For a dodgy stream on matchday. Only one pop up.
Thanks for the clip. Good god, we hammered them! Could have been 5-0. Crying shame about that amazing Traore run, he should have passed to Jimenez, who doesn’t miss those sort of chances. What a time to be a Wolves supporter.
Just seen the documentary about RJ9
Brung a few tears to these old eyes.
A real family man, very down to earth, who appears to love the club as much as we love him.
And I still love Nuno, for the first three fabulous seasons under him, and how the club and the fans were rejuvenated and basically rebuilt while he was in charge.
Going to bed with a grin on me face tonight!
Brace yourself, Effie!
Best performance so far this season. Full of energy and high pressing. Even Semedo and Podence , whom I have criticised in the past, played well.
If I was to nitpick, I would say we didn’t create many chances and only scored one goal, even if it was Raul’s best goal in Wolves colours.
Semedo is becoming more influencial but cannot seem to get in many crosses or final passes- very like Troure.
I watched Portugal v Serbia and it was interesting to note that Moutinho was subbed for Palhina and Neves came on for Sanchez. Would Palhina and Sanchez ( whom we are interesting in signing) be better than Moutinho and Neves ??
Paulhina is relative dross (see my post above). I watch all of Portugal’s games, for obvious reasons, and he has yet to impress. Can’t see him doing anything in the Premier League.
As good a player as Renato Sanches might be I believe he would be a poor signing for us. His injury record is terrible. In the last 5 seasons, he has been injured for 442 days In total (c 14 months) involving 18 separate injuries and missing 70 games in total. I’m afraid he is in the Matt Murray, Geoff Thomas or Tony Daley school of talent blighted by physical frailty. We should take him on loan at best with an option to buy. We should not sign him permanently until he proves over a sustained period his ability to deal with the physical demands of PL football.
I don’t try think we’ll need to worry about Sanches. With Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan all now interested, I’m afraid we’ve missed the boat there.
Something very strange how he was injured until the new year but was then playing in a month or so. Perhaps he never wanted the move and was waiting for “bigger” clubs to show an interest.
Sanchez has started to appear consistently in the transfer gossip pages which suggests he is being touted around the clubs by agents looking for a killing. Six months ago he was nailed on coming to Wolves and would have done so but for an injury. It’s all baloney anyway and we’re all in mushroom land.
Not football related, but funny as shit.
It seems spoiled, over paid, over hyped basketball player Lebron James, of the L A Lakers got his precious feelings hurt by two fans yelling abuse at him, and had them ejected from the stadium!!
Imagine how quickly Old Trafford and other places would empty if that was allowed to happen in England!!
In fact certain stadiums ( stadia?) would be permanently empty, like sandwell town.
Yow gorra loff, ay ya?
They ay appy at Sondwell. Singing ‘sack the board’ the other night and they hate the manager and ‘Val Ball’. Apparently it’s not the Sandwell way of playing (i didn’t hear them moaning when Pulis had them up in the prem top 8 – before it went sadly pear-shaped). Hopefully a swift decline in to League 2 will be on the horizon when they get taken over by ‘ Rowley Regis Scrap Metal Ltd’. All is not well in the land that time forgot.
Nearly forgot.
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!
Well thank you kindly Sir. And the same to you.
Off now for some grits!
