I was hoping to hear something about an injury to Kevin McDonald in the postmortem of another disappointing home performance.

How else could Kenny Jackett (or anyone else for that matter) justify his omission from the starting eleven?
But there was nothing to explain why Wolves’ best and most influential player was left on the sidelines.
And he is indisputably our best player.
There may have once been a case for Dicko, Sako, Afobe and in more recent times Graham, but of the current hodgepodge the head coach selects his team from, the big Scot stands head and shoulders above everyone else.
Without him our midfield was predictably void of creativity, leadership or presence and the collective team effort was arguably the worst of the season.
Are we to seriously believe this club is moving forward when the spine of the side is made up of players the manager has already deemed surplus to requirements?
Ebanks-Landell, Saville and Sigurdarson have all been around for years and have never been preferred choices.
It’s only now, as we continue to dismantle the best squad we’d had for years, that these forgotten men have suddenly been thrust back into contention.
And disregarding Sako and Afobe, what about everyone else we’ve chosen to get rid of?
Scott Golbourne would have improved yesterday’s team (playing left back and moving Doherty over to give Iorfa a much needed rest).
Michael Jacobs would have improved yesterday’s team.
And yes, Kevin McDonald would have improved yesterday’s team.
Instead, with the clock ticking down and Preston cantering home, we turn to Tommy Rowe to rescue the points.
Has there ever been a more damning indictment of just how badly managed this season has been by everyone connected to the club?
And now these same people want the fans to pony over £4 million plus in advanced ticket sales? You are indeed having a laugh.
Back to yesterday and a few players emerged from the wreckage with an ounce of credibility.
Matt Doherty continued the impressive form he’s displayed since returning to the team and was often our most potent attacking outlet, driving forward from deep.
I also thought Connor Coady showed the requisite drive and tenacity, qualities that were supposed to shine alongside a certain Scottish colleague.
And a nod to Joe Mason who made it two goals in one and a half matches, ghosting in to offer a glimmer of hope.
But with Le Fondre and McDonald sitting on their hands as Rowe entered the fray, the glimmer soon turned to black.

Was going to go off on a rant but what’s the point………
For the first time I’m starting to believe Jackett has taken us as far as he can. I will always love him for the rebuilding job he did and yes it is right he has been dealt a bad hand but whereas for the first year he could do no wrong his transfers and decisions are becoming ever more baffling. Someone else in the dugout might only provide an energy boost on the pitch and in the stands, even that would be most welcome. Be careful what you wish for sure, but it can’t get much worse than we’re seeing at the moment.
We didn’t play good football. Ok. Why? Some changes done by Jackett didn’t turn out as he intended. Saville played well against Reading, not against Preston. If we’ve had our best players available I would start to blame Jackett. I understand the frustration of the fans, but I’m very surprised how the fans react when one takes our injury situation into consideration. With Zyro and Graham in the team we won 5 in a row. With a bit of patience I’m convinced the results again starts to tip in our favor. It can’t be too long before Zyro returns from injury (?) And Williamson could stabilize the defense once again when he returns.
Agree with you 100%. Williamson is a key man and will bring more confidence at the back to puish forawrd more. But why was Stearman sold in the first place? That stupid idea (I bet Morgan has an urge to balance the books all the time) has ciost us this season, we have thrown points away because WE CANNOT DEFEND! Last season we were nicking games 1-0 early doors and defending very solidly.
It is a little known fact that Jim Morrison was a Preston North End fan. He wrote a song about their defeat in the 1964 FA cup final but was forced by the record company to remove all references to Preston North from the title. To many it is no mystery that his early death coincided with Preston’s descent into the third division. I like to think that Jim was looking down yesterday and Preston’s performance lit his fire. For me it was a squib so damp that the squib had dissolved and was trickling into the Wolverhampton sewers. As KJ explained we huffed and puffed but rather like the wolf confronted with a brick construction we couldn’t blow Preston down. It was like watching a team of amnesiacs play, they had some vague memory of football but it wasn’t quite coming back to them. Kick and ball being generally agreed as the two most important components of the game.
As Jim said “Can you picture what will be, so limitless and free
Desperately in need, of some, stranger’s hand
In a, desperate land”
I think I know what he meant.
Perhaps, one could quote the great man, (Jim Morrison) again…
Morgan to Moxey:
“When the Musics over… Turn off the light.”
What a shambles….
Yet another gutless home performance lacking in any sort of class from the home side.
Doherty was our best player agree with that, Coady seems to lack real quality. The midfield was rubbish!
McDonald who is class was rumoured to be in a bust up with Jackett.
I don’t know what to think anymore. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse Wolves player than RVLP.
Probably Robert Taylor or Frankowski, but RVLP runs them mighty close!
Joe Ghallager……………………………
Rumour is Mcdonald missed a physio session on Wednesday, which led to the bust up
Jackett seems to have had more than enough bust ups with players; I expect they’re as frustrated as the fans with management’s lack of ambition
As I have commented previously one of the real joys of being a football fan is that we can all see the same thing and yet all see something quite different. For me Conor Coady was our MoTM by a mile – one of the few who looked like he was trying or cared, great ball for Mason’s goal etc.
After the initial feeling of frustration at 90 minutes, a period of reflection over night has enabled me to come to the decision that another home loss may probably be a more desirable outcome.
Surely scraping a win would only have put yet another plaster over an ever increasing crack. Perhaps the realisation that this is the best that Wolves can do currently may finally force board members to take their heads out of the sand and take stock before this huge ship goes down.
Making the play-offs may be the dream of many fans but why? Surely promotion would only be achieved after results which could only be regarded as flukes and then what – one season in the premiership, without investment, resulting in gaining fewer points than the Villa. Let’s try and force some sort of change of club ethos before trying to run before we can walk.
I’m afraid Mr Jackett must bear responsibility for the last two dreadful performances at Molineux (Bolton and Preston) with his team selection and tactics. We have one point to show from what should have been two winnable games against teams below us in the table. True, he may have had the rug pulled out from under his feet by the management, if indeed he had no say in the sales of Afobe, Stearman and Golbourne. True there has been dreadful luck with serious injuries.
But there should still be enough talent in the squad to put together a footballing team with shape and purpose. Several players, such as Sigurdarson, Mason and Saville, cost serious money. Yet they seem pushed to string two passes together, and there is little or no threat from the wings. Also, in these days of high energy, pressing football, they seem content to cede possession to the other side and see what happens. These deficiencies, in my view, are down to the head coach and his staff.
I’m not attempting to excuse the indifference of the management, I just feel that we could do much better with the talent at our disposal.
If I see one more Redrow advert on the scoreboard, especially during play, when all is going tits up on the field, I shall go mad.
New constellations sometimes needs time to gel. Although Graham and Zyro clicked instantly. Perhaps the replacements aren’t good enough, or doesn’t fit our style of play. Mason has done brilliantly so far and done what a striker is supposed to do – score goals. I think getting back a key player like Zyro would mean everything for our attacking play. Despite our poor performances in the two last game I know we all can look forward to better days. Williamson should boost our defence.
As I wrote on the previous post i do believe Jackett is trying to get himself sacked … he has made some masterstroke signings during his short tenure, Henry, Mcdonald, Afobe and more recently Williams and used them to devestating affect … now, with suppsedly a ten mil kitty, he buys a 2mil striker but chooses rather to go with a player we have been unable to sell for love or money since Solbakken left.
He wants out, he’s seen the mess that we all believe is going on in the background, he’s seen it first hand and he wants out.
but the main reason for my post… that ghastly, beetroot faced twat has publicly stated he wont sell for less than 30 million… We’ve just sold our single most valuable asset for 10 million – circa 8 of which will have been gobbled up by his portfolio – and the trajectory of the club has nose dived meaning league one football is becoming a real possbility next season.
Sooo …the question is, WWFC for sale, league one, no Afobe, 30 million. Any takers ?
Still at least we’re not villa… right ?
This is a mockery to Wolverhampton Wanderers. A team made of misfits, rejects and hand-me-downs. Most of these players, like Siggy, RVLP, Saville, like Leon Clarke, were not good enough to play for Wolves before, and are still not good enough now. For the first time in my life I feel no excitement or even empathy with this squad of players in gold shirts. These aren’t Wolves. They’re a sham! Frauds! A circus act put together for the mere collection of gate money.
Meantime, king Morgan sits in his castle counting all his coins, with record profits, dishing out record bonuses to his jester Moxey. Fans have to boycott the early bird this year. A clear message has to be given to the board that enough is enough, and that we want Morgan and Moxey out. A new buyer has to be found; one who cares for, and will invest in, this once great football club before it is destroyed. They are running it thread bare.
Something has to be done now. Our spineless board has to wake up and take some action. Before it is too late! Here would be my proposed 10-step plan 🙂 :
1. Find an ambitious buyer who actually cares for the future of Wolves and is ready to invest.
2. Fire Moxey.
3. Fire Jackett.
4. Hire an experienced manager who’s actually played for more clubs than just Watford.
5. Build a brand new team with quality players.
6. Sell off most of the current set of losers.
7. Give the fans hope once again and sell record #s of season tix.
8. Start playing some exhilerating, attacking and entertaining football.
9. Start winning games.
10. Onwards, upwards, premiership, success.
Simple :-). Let’s start with #1 this week please.
Go Wolves!!!
Hear ! Hear ! Though I think your first big problem will be point no. 1 who will buy this club, in the state it is in for 30 million ?
Will be interesting to see the number of early bird uptakes … surely, even the most rosey-tinted of Wolves fans must be thinking enough is enough ?
First, a Valentine’s Day message
Roses are red
Violets are blue
All you great bloggers
I love you
And I don’t mind some of you less great ones either
It’s quite probable now that Morgan has resigned Wolves FC to the time period of the close season..Moxey is selling all options (inc his own) and then there is Jacket..
I can’t believe that anyone here can bat for KJ anymore (even Mark..Mr Doogooder himself ) his blatent player changes must surely be a personal plan to get sacked..
I can’t buy that his decisions are real anymore and I’ve insulted his intelligence too much here..enough is enough..he suckered me big time.. (?)
So..Ikeme all change again,Mason in the reserve team, Saville at left wing and EEL at centre forward..DB still at CH pushing his way to Brighton ..RVLP as player 3rd coach..
We’d stand the same chance in my scenario..ie *we are now hanging on in this league*
The commentary on this match was so dire give or take Mason’s goal ..bless him,and the result underlined the fact that we’ve only won 4 home games this season.
What a complete mess.(and incidently in front of 21000 fans)
It starts and stays currently with KJ
and my pi** taking aside.. he’s bringing the play, team choice, strategy, the morale,to a new lowest level..
I hope all this doesn’t end up in bigger tear’s..
It doesn’t matter if the strategy is good if he don’t have the right players to carry it out. With the right players the team won 5 matches in a row. Humans love scapegoats. I’m certain things will improve when key players returns from injury.
Correction: “… pointing fingers at scapegoats”
Yep you are right we did win 5 games in a row but KJ changed the strategy the defence fell to pieces RVLP suddenly became dire again and we went back to head scratching ..It all rests with the coach.
.
No, we started to lose points after we lost J.Graham and Zyro. With them in the team we played really good attacking football.
Football is a TEAM game. By definition a team ” comprises a group of individuals having complementary skills, which when combined, facilitate overall performance well ahead of the sum of individual members ” This fundamentally implies that a team must develop a spirit of its own where members fully understand their individual roles and rely on those to be performed by their colleagues.
Mr Jacket`s concept of a team is completely different. He sees no need for continuity. Players, formations and tactics are randomly changed week on week for reasons that even he finds hard to justify. The result is a group of demoralized guys turning out weekly, looking as if they had just met in the pub prior to the game. Then they play without method, resorting to hoofing the ball up the field more in hope than expectation — and lose. This is followed by a weekly bleating session by Mr Jacket in which he seeks to blame injuries and anything else he can think of to justify failure. The only thing he never blames is his own gross ineptitude as a coach.
The sides that are beating us with ease are from the lower levels of the league. They are no world beaters. Most have less resources available than we do. But the common factor is that they all play with method. They look as if they have been coached. They play to their strengths. They play as a TEAM. It is our gross ineptitude that makes them look far better than they really are.
It is certainly the case that Messrs Morgan and Moxey have done the club no favors in recent times. But surely, the real problem that we have is a coach who is completely out of his depth. He is just plain clueless. If we are to have chance to move forward he surely must go. If he stays the shambles that Wolves have become can only continue and accelerate
Mike
I agree with your comments but wonder if even Willie Mullins could get a donkey to win the grand national.
Unfortunately the majority of our squad are never will be’s with a scattering of youthful potential. What bit of class we had have either left or are injured so to be honest I don’t think Andrew Lloyd Webber could get a decent tune out of what’s left. Whether what we have is down to Jacket, Moxey or any of the other Management team is unclear as yet but the truth will out I just hope that there are 3 teams that can not get to 40 points this season because if there aren’t we are in serious trouble!
We all know M&M’s dire shortcomings but a lot of Kenny’s fans bless em are in denial and in the grip of a siege mentality. The players must all be rubbish. Well perhaps some of them are but its Kenny who has put this squad through the mincer. Its Kenny who falls out with the players. Its Kenny who exiles players then brings them back so that he can then do the same to others. Its Kenny who has made this seasons perverse team selections. Its Kenny who the players arent playing for.
As the current squad falls apart and the better players plan there exit will the replacements really be that much better even with a new owner ?
It’s the KJ show folks..
I posted my thoughts on yesterday’s debacle when I got in from the game last night. Today I went to watch Arsenal v Leicester with my Gooner son. The difference is frightening. Quite simply today was football from another planet compared with the tosh I witnessed yesterday. We are light years behind. Number of times long hopeful balls punted upfield? Nil. Number of defensive headers straight to an opponent? Nil. Number of miscontrolls? Nil. Number of poor aimless passes? Nil. Number of players comfortable on the ball? Twenty two. Scary dairy. And as I said yesterday – Morgan, Moxey AND Jackett I hate, loathe and despise you all forwhat you have done to OUR club!
Bedfordwolf, I couldn’t have put it better myself: @wwwebs tweeted on Sun, Feb 14, 2016:
Trying to make sense of the dross served up a Molineux yesterday. I’m watching Arsenal v Leicester on Sky and it’s like a different sport.

Alright, I give up!
I have today torn up my Kenny Jackett fan club membership card.
I still respect him for what he did for us when he first came. He obviously respected the history of the club and brought the fans back behind the team with a season of exciting, attacking and passing football the like of which we had not seen for a good while.
And I still sympathise with him having to put up with the horrific list of injuries and forced sales which have decimated his squad.
And I have always felt for him having to work under the fat greasy thumbs of the two ugly sisters.
But I am at a loss to justify his selections and tactics of late. And if he has had a bust up with K Mac it can only be over where he is being played – and I would probably side with the ‘attacking midfielder’ on that particular issue.
And if he thinks that Mason should play as a number nine – bloody well play him!
I don’t know how scrambled his mind must be given the events of late, but there’s something going wrong big time.
Maybe Steve showcase is right – hell! he has to be sometime – Kenny has got so pissed off working for Scrooge and Fagin that he wants the sack, and a pay off, rather than resigning.
Whatever the truth is, we are in BIG trouble unless a new buyer is found fast.
Because until that happens, nothing’s going to change.
Mark bet you are keeping the bits and some sellotape. ( Dont think Championship clubs that have changed managers this season are doing that well. Lambert hasnt won a league game in the last 10 at Blackburn).
You’re right.
I haven’t really torn it up I’ve just put it in the naughty drawer alongside all the inflatable and battery driven implements that you wouldn’t want your nan to find.
I’m not taking the blame Mark lol evidence is overwhelming and if you’re knocking him he must be crap..
Yes I was thankful too when we rose to the championship but I honestly think he has blown up..and prob a fair while ago..you even picked up about his interviewing ..( look away.. look away ..)
I just hope we can move on next season ..
If I had enough money to buy a football club I always dreamed it would be Wolves but I’ve changed my mind. If I had a spare tenner I’d like to buy Liverpool and run them into the ground. See how he fucking likes it.
Best comment all season!!
And revenge for 1976!!
THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL.
FO jm sm kj please
Ah well. it’s plan B then………we do have a plan B don’t we?
Not much to say really.
Life is good but my football team is shite
Would it be better for someone to pay 30 million to buy the club or for Morgan to be forced to hold on because no one will pay what he thinks the team is worth?
That way he cannot get involved again in Liverpool in any way.
I’ve always defended KJ but when I saw yesterday’s team even I started to doubt. Why drop your only creative midfield outlet (KMac) when you are playing one of the meanest defences in the league ? It was a nonsensical decision, regardless of what has gone on off the pitch and it got what it deserved. Looking back over the season it seems that every time with think we have hit new lows in terms of performance we somehow managed to go one better (worse ?) in one of the following games. Question now is just how poor can we get and can we stay out of the bottom 3 if such performances continue ?
Think I posted this
“a long time ago in a blog Far Far away”
All together now peeps..
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! Jackett OUT!!!
Luckily for us I think 46/47 points will probably be enough this year and our away form is such that enough points should be accumulated. I am worried that should we maintain status, what will happen in the summer if we DON’T attract new owners. I can only see more of the same from the current regime. Ultimately Morgan will have to make decisions that don’t include relegation. Do I trust this regime to get it right? Based on the evidence of recent years NO. Anyone know if billionaire Donald Trump is in anyway connected to Wolverhampton? Perhaps he has a pet hedghog who had an uncle who just happened to be a horse called Trevor who in turn was related to the black oss in Queens Square.
Trump DOES have a pet hedgehog but unfortunately it’s blonde and resides on his head.
I’m from Wolvo and I’m gonna vote for him.
Does that help?
What is it when wolves are at home, why can’t we play ?.or is it tactical ineptitude of Hackett.
I can’t believe the player’s are that bad and the blame must sit with Hackett he picks the team.
I’m not and never will be a fan of poxey but the south bank should have had a go at Hackett also.
The way we are playing now, will plunge us to a relegation battle and that’s only 10 points away, if we continue to play shite football as of late.
I think the only thing we can do to resurrect our season now is to sack Hackett when we have someone to take on the mantle, but who would take it on while we are up for sale.
Nice one Doog. Next time Donald comes on telly I will be studying his hair for any movement. If there is it will only reinforce my theory that he is seriously intent on a Wolves take over. I am already looking at an investment in a stars and stripes flag. With Wolves ay we- hey ! On it. There will also be a picture of Doctor Mopp off Trump-ton on it. In honour of Mr Trump.
How about this for your starter for 10?
Who’s that pug ugly f***er?
Please don’t be disrespectful to pugs.
Petition on Molineux Mix to get Moxey out…
Anyone interested here..
Wolves fans: Jez Moxey Out!! – Sign the Petition!
https://www.change.org/p/wolves-fans-jez-moxey-out?
Unfortunately, as has been said before by me and others, Moxey has been working to the remit set by Morgan and, as such, he’s done his job.
He’s kept Wolves profitable and not cost Morgan oodles of money.
Even more unfortunately, you can’t get rid of a CEO without having a replacement lined up. Particularly if the owner doesn’t give an S * H * 1 * T about the club.
If Moxey and Jackett were sacked now the club would be up the proverbial creek without a paddle, a rudder or a satnav..
With respect theDOOGooder
Personally I don’t believe we are even in the creek to go up it… if you catch my Drift
We are long gone from there and are now in Titanic territory and that Iceberg is getting closer with every passing game..
Still the Musicians will remain on deck playing the music..
as People make their own minds up on Afobe, so they also will on Moxey..
Much as I hate, loathe and despise Toxic Moxey theDOOGooder is quite right in that he is merely an employee of that Scouse chump Steve Moron so its no point the fans shouting ‘Moxey Out’ like at yesterday’s game or starting a petition as he is only carrying out Moron’s orders which in summary are “spend nowt, spout any old lies you like as them fans are all fools and make sure you/we rinse Wolves of as much money as possible”.
I totally respect your views Bedford BUT the facts are that YES although Moxey is carrying out the policies of Moron …. he is being so well paid to oversee a club that is FRANKLY …. IN TURMOIL.
If I was MorACK MOXEY for being responsible for THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS.
In business those paid highly (Generally for the Responsiblity) must shoulder the Blame … NOT PASS THE BUCK..!!
If I was MORGAN I WOULD SACK MOXEY .. please replace above
Rudolph is a red,
greasel the pits,
At least we don’t have to watch
villa or the shit.
Jackett is a dead man walking.
He knows there is no reprieve from above, in the form of investment for new players, so he is doing his best to get fired, by fucking around with the line ups and tactics.
There can be no other logical explanation for the absolute bollocks served up this season.
A bloke who we almost worshipped less than two years ago, finding ways to stuff pretty much all opposition out of sight, remember Brentford away, turning into someone who’s own mother would find difficulty recognizing.
No, this is a very deep and dark and nefarious game being played in the corridors of power at The Mol, with greasel and his henchmen, and woman ( wife) on one side, silently begging KJ to walk away in utter disgust and contempt, and KJ clinging to his job by the skin of his hamster teeth, so he will get sacked and receive a large payoff.
Trouble is, the only losers ( apart from the clowns on the pitch) are us fans, being shit on from a great height….again.
But, there is always a silver cloud to any gift horse, or something like that, did you watch villa collapse today?
Hilfuckinlarious!!!!
FOwb
holding on by his hamster teeth ha ha… a perfect description – one which i will forever see as his woeful platitudes squeeze their way through is clenched little hamster mouth after our next abject performance …
I also really liked the ” you fat bastard, get out of our club” chants at muggsley.
Brilliant CFH. It’s already happenin. The Trump factor.
Kenny wants a payoff nothing more obvious because this is becoming nothing short of
bezarre nothing makes sense any more and the fans are going bald scratchin their heads .. just put my last £100 on the lotto because I can’t think of any other way out of this mess.. how bloody desperate is that …. if I won would I bother ……answer is yes…. wife says no chance …. who’s right?
Brilliant. Wolves ay we. Always am. Always will be. Moxey n morgan there now but not forever. They will be gone and we will be there. Wolves ay we !
I would just like to say that we will spare no expense to replace Sako, we only sold Stearman for footballing reasons, we will not be selling Afobe but instead will build a team around him and we have replaced Afobe (who I said we wouldn’t sell) anyway as we bought Zyro (even though we wanted him last Summer to play on the left wing to replace Sako and when Afobe, who I said we wouldn’t sell, was still here). Why can’t you thick Wolves fans understand?
Altogether now – City girls just seem to find out early……………………….
Regarding KJ’s alleged ineptitude, it begs a question.
Was he always inept and just hid it well those first two, superb seasons?
Was he actually great those first two seasons but has now, for some reason, become inept?
Is he not inept at all, but wants to appear so in order to get the sack and a pay-off?
Is he actually as good as we all thought he was for two years, but has had apparent ineptitude thrust upon him by our overly stingy transfer and wages policy and our catastrophic injury list?
As for KMac yesterday, who of us knows what has gone on behind the scenes. No player is bigger than the club and ‘IF’ KMac has been a bad boy behind the scenes, KJ can’t just let it go ’cause that way anarchy in the dressing room lies.
Just trying to open up the debate a bit……….
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away (The Fifties) I went to the Mol for the first time and I was hooked. While in Glasgow at Uni in The Sixties I twice hitchhiked to W’ton just to watch the Wolves play Man U in the FA cup (lost both times). For many years I had a season ticket and made the trips up from The Cotswolds.
Then in the last but one year in the Prem I had my ephinany moment: Early Bird letter had arrived and sitting in my usual seat watching us get stuffed again I knew it was not going to get better – it could only get worse and decided not renew my ticket but to use the money saved to get Sky. (Ironic as its TV money which has knackered fans’ experience with KO times made random and fans morphing into customers).
I regret to say I was right and that decision has never come back to haunt me.
I just think from all the views expressed on here on other sites & at the ground no one really has a clue what’s happening other than we’re seeing a real mediocre side play well below themselves.
The club do not communicate with the fans about their vision, KJ baffles us all with his tactics & team selections, & plugs himself in in his interviews to spout cliched drivel non-speak.
If the board had genuine ambition & a vision then they’d go for the best possible Manager to achieve Prem football.
As it is no one looks like they give a stuff other than the fans.
I can’t see us being sold anytime soon like the rest of the West Midlands fire sale there don’t seem to be any takers.
So grin & bear it is my response, have a moan & quickly think about something other than Wolves FC.
When Fergy convinced Man U that they should give his mate Moyes a job because he always got Everton in the top 7 , they agreed, then got a bit pisseed when they finished. Seventh !!!! When we gave kj a job cos he was a safe pair of hands and has a good record of finishing mid table in the chump , we shouldn’t get too upset when we finish ! You know the rest , never mind, next year we just have to get over villa , Newcastle and one more. All with 100 mill to spend , no problem then. Utw
Very true Marney, We are light years away from competing with any team who come down from the prem.
It has all been said in previous posts above. Basically, we don’t have the foggiest what is going on at our club. Unfortunately, l think we have to write this season of, earn enough further points to make us safe from going down, and then prepare for next season.
Once all of our injured players are back with us, and with the potential we have already seen from them, we will be a force to be reckoned with.
Hopefu?ly by then new owners will be in place and that along with our ‘1st team’ players back l cannot see another season like the one we are having at the moment reoccurring.
Sorry Graham I have to disagree,
I think when all the behind the scenes stuff has been resolved we will still be left with a squad of very mediocre players that are in truth probably performing as well as their collective abilities allow. You can get away with having a few average players but to be totally devoid of quality is just a non starter.
Which players do you think, when all are fit would get into the Middlesbrough or Hull line ups let alone a struggling Prem side?
We possibly had too good a season last year leaving us all thinking that we would walk it this year. This is possibly one of our worst seasons for injuries for quite a number of years now. With our policy of making use of the young hungry youngsters we definately do need to have a settling in period of a season or two.
I still do believe though, with our recent aquisitions of Graham and Mason along with Dicko resuming where he left off and hopefuly Siggy starting to do the business and the younger elements of the team a further year of experience behind them, we should be a strong contender next season. Only time will tell.
Ikeme, Iorfa, Williamson, McDonald, Graham and Dicko. That’s over half a starting line-up.
Only answering your question…
Jury’s also still out on Byrne, Mason & Zyro. Others like Hause & Price might not be at that level yet, but could get there. Looks like all we’d need is an experienced left back to captain the side and bring the best out of vice-captain Batth and we might have a team with decent potential. Didn’t we use to have one of those?
Chris
Opinions are what’s great about football and in response I would say:
Ikeme – Seems to have reached his peak and his nervousness and continual errors mean the defence has no confidence. (Championship avg player at best)
Iorfa – More mistakes than Wayne Rooney on a celebrity mastermind special and may come good given time and periods of rest (half a Championship season at most for now)
Williamson – Steady Championship player and will help but best years behind him and will not move us forward. (Will do a job for a couple of years in the Championship)
McDonald – Shows flashes of class but needs time on the ball and disappears when put under pressure (Championship player at best, non league when sulking or not in the mood)
Graham – See Iorfa but also consider he was not good enough to get into the current Villa side. (Maybe some hope for the future if he does not start believing the hype)
Dicko – Interesting and the jury still out, looks a world beater when on form in the championship but how would he look up against Prem defenders? Not sure myself as Sako and Jarvis before him have struggled to make any impact. (Maybe some hope???)
As for the rest you suggest I would echo your comments that maybe they might make the next level but could just as easily be playing for Burton or Telford in 2 years time.
My overall opinion, for what it’s worth, is that we are just about where we should be if not over performing slightly. The major issue for now is can we get enough points to avoid the drop? My feeling is that it’s going to be a close one. We need 5 or 6 points to be safe and would like, based on current form, to know where they are coming from? Our best hope is that 3 teams below us continue to drop as many points as us!!!!
I do understand the ill feeling and cry’s for protests but I for one just want to get us over the line for this season, six more points then do what you like but until then lets try our best to get this current bunch of overpaid superstars over the line!
Surly we will look a more attractive proposition to perspective buyers as a Championship side than a first division side? Another season with the current bunch of caretakers will be too much even for me to bare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
We Are Wolves!
Looks like my decision not to bother going to the Mol on Saturday was a good one. Watched my lad`s team win 5-2, then watched some crackingly entertaining six nations rugby, and weren`t England very good second half yesterday……..on for a performance and win.
Now am I less of a fan for doing the above, than going to the match and chanting for M&M to go, and watching another defeat and booing the team off the pitch. Sometimes applying a bit of common sense works wonders.
I`ve had my early bird email, but haven`t bothered to open it yet, maybe when the new owners are in situe I may read it.
I admire you for not coming Mark … but you did miss some classic chanting …. “Get out of our club … you fat bastard …get out of our club.
I truly hope (although I doubt it) that it made you know who SQUIRM…. he’s a walking failure….
Incidentally I’m doing some research on Ryan McKnight … he’s the guy that Moxey commissioned to tell the Fans Parliament …that we are so lucky to have a wonderful CEO and that we should be happy with our lot …ie NO Ambition .. NO Hope .. GET Screwed ….
Hi Mark
In my opinion you are definitely NOT any less of a fan for spending the weekend the way you did.
Having spent a rather drunken evening with you (in a very manly way of course) and heard the history of your support for the club, with Scooped, Clive and various other reprobates, anyone who accuses you of that is a complete dunderhead.
And you’re quite right. It was a great second half performance by England – that fifth try was an absolute delight.
Mark,
Get it open and get it paid man.
Worse things in life are happening every nano second in this World. We are Wolves good or bad, thick or thin.
Get it paid, save yourself some money me and Jen de Wolf did.
We’re happy as a pig in shit.
🙂
Or ……………………. he can save even more money by NOT paying it, and going less often ……….. like me lol
I have always been a Jackett fan and constantly argued his case, but not after Saturday, how can anybody, to leave Mac out is beyond anything, why spend £3/3.5 million pound on a striker and leave him on the bench, but to compound matters turn round and say you have got to look at his best position in the front line – didn’t we know this “before buying him”, we brought Byrne on for Henry who got injured, he should have been on anyway.
Then KJ goes onto to say we should have put the ball out so has to get a sub on, shouldn’t that have been the case anyway rather than wait, why were no sub’s warming up after their second goal.
If you lose to a good team, you can accept it, but to lose to Preston who are a very poor excuse for a football team and whose only intentions was revenge and payback for them having two men sent off at their place – both justified we played straight into their hands by choosing the wrong team.
KJ is too defense minded especially at home, sorry KJ nice guy but it’s Pearson for me!
Is Jackett trying? Or is he ‘doing an Afobe’ ? Afobe was at least heading for the PL. Where Kenny if heading for, I don’t know. He certainly was an excellent League One manager. Just as well for Kenny we haven’t been taken over by an ambitious billionaire. I think the PL is like that old radio show, Beyond our Ken.
Reply to myself. If Kenny was trying his best (as opposed to being bloody-minded and making a point), things are much worse than I thought. If this is the best he can come up with, with his own team, we are in a mess. We can only hope to pick up enough points away as clearly we can’t perform at home.
you ask yourself where it all started to unravel … was it failing to recruit a replacment for Sako who we knew was planning to leave for three years…. or was it the hiring of Solbakken who threw millions at crap players (barring Sako of course) that we couldnt get rid of… or was it when Mccarthy was replaced by TC, or was it not getting rid of mccarthy at the end of season two in the prem when it was clear he wasnt a prem manager …. maybe it was even further back when Davey Jones was given a paltry 3 million to keep us in the prem first time round …
I dont know, I remember 13 odd years in the championship … and when DJ got us up I really thought we’d use that first “leap” into the prem as a springboard to help establish Wolves as a Premier League side.
It hasnt happenned. We have all suspected something insidious is going on behind those boardroom doors… and now, it would seem, the lid is about to bubble off … Kenny is not even trying to hide his objectives to get fired, fans chanting for moxy to get out of our club, and morgan putting the club up for sale on a whim are all indicators that this club needs a complete overhaul of the hierarchy …
We have a very good academy feeding the first team, we have a number of quality players returning from injury for next season, and we have a stadium and supporter numbers in place … all it needs is someone at the top with some ambition and drive to pull it all together.
I dont believe Morgan, Moxey or (sad to say) Jackett should be anywhere near this club come August.
In defence of Solbakken, he didn’t buy a lot of the ‘bad bunch’, like Roger Hunt? was it, or Jamie O’Hara, or Karl Henry and several others. His ideas were fine, but the players didn’t have enough talent to carry them out.
I’m sure Wolves never paid £3 million for Mason, and he was only bought as no-one else ws available or willing to come.
What a mess we’re in now, Jackett was never that stupid, he was pretty astute in his first two seasons; he must be fed up with the job now, and looking for a chance to move on.
Oh yeah, Roger JOHNSON ! can’t think why I called him Hunt……………
Spot on admant Well Said
Get em all out NOW as Quickly as possible…
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! Jackett OUT!!!
Let me begin by confirming that I am no fan of the owner or CEO. But the loss on Saturday was, I am afraid to say, solely down to the manager. Bringing Jack Price back was the right thing to do but doing it at the expense of K Mac is just plain bonkers!
Players like Saville, Coady and Rowe are not going to improve this team. As soon as the team sheet was handed in we all knew Preston were going to win. Our only playmaker and new £3m signing sitting on the bench…WTF?
Listening to Kenny’s interview afterwards I seriously wonder if the decision to buy Mason was his? I am not so sure it was.
Our season is effectively over. We should be able to accumulate enough points to keep the bottom 3 at bay this season. I am fully expecting Morgan to be the owner at the start of next season and Kenny to leave in the summer. Then we will be in a relegation scrap right from the first match.
Our season is NOT effectively over –its just about to start. Let`s get our heads out of the sand and realize that a relegation battle could well be on our hands very soon. With a repeat of Saturday`s team selection and tactics — or lack of –we surely cannot expect to get many more points. Rather, we can expect that inevitably we will be on the receiving end of a few good thrashings from the better teams in the coming weeks.
Never mind, this will give Mr Jacket yet another opportunity to bleat about injuries and the need for strengthening etc etc. while he conveniently overlooks his own weekly failures.
What an absolute fiasco. Those is charge of this great football club should be thoroughy ashamed of their neglect and ineptitude.
After a deal of soul searching I have decided to donate my £10 to the statue of Sir Jack.
With this comment:-
‘Honoured to do the decent thing. Donate the amount that Sir Jack sold Wolves for. Let’s hope that Steve Morgan now does the same and sells for a fair price. It’s a football club not a money pot.’
It’s just a small thing but made me feel a bit better.
As the actress said to the Bishop.
I will support your action,it would be an absolute no-brainer to donate £10 to SirJack’s memorial statue.
It was the fans who started the initiative and so let’s give him some back, not these parasites we have now,but in his memory it would be a pleasure.
My question is who is handling all the money donated?
Apparently Poxey made great play about the concept of the football club being ‘self-sufficient’ at the Fans Parl. He is clearly unaware that the concept of economic self-sufficiency has been dismissed as irrelevant since the early 19th century when Ricardo formulated the notion of ‘comparative advantage’.
We have, I believe, historically the 14th highest average attendances in the country. We have a massive, globally spread following. We have the potential to increase our fan base massively – see the Sherpa Van final or Cardiff, May 2003. So why are we p****g around in the middle of the Division from Hell ? Ironically enough, just one season in the Greed League would ensure our ‘self-sufficiency’ for some years thereafter, but the idiots in charge are not prepared to speculate to accumulate.
Is this football club trying to remain self-sufficient simply by competing at a lower level and producing its own players ? That is what clubs like Crewe Alexandra, Rochdale and Hartlepool do (no disrespect to them – they are great at it). But is this how the idiots in charge see the future for our club ????
Well put Wolfman …. following the Fans Parliament .. there are some very interesting and quite damning stuff about to be reported.
I’m personally going to look into the ins and outs of what Ryan McKnight had to say and the depth to which Moxey is happy to go along with. …. ie happy to plod along with the current forward thinking and Bollox to all the fans who crave success and to those who want to see the club where they really belong…..
So watch this space mate.
Wolfman.
I’m sure you’re right. The Moxey/Morgan approach would have been fine before the Premier League. Salt of the earth provincial businessman buys club, runs it sensibly in the financial sense, doesn’t set the world alight, but mid-table in top flight is permanently possible. Fast forward to 2016, the football world has changed out of all recognition. Aforesaid provincial businessman is, quite simply, out of his depth, and can only survive at Championship level.
The trouble with Moxey/Morgan, as I suggest above, is that they’re OUT OF DATE! Ditto Kenny Jackett. He might have made a decent, middling manager in the old first division.
May be Morgan was carrying out Sir Jacks directive to keep WWFC solvent. That’s what Sir Jack did by appointing Moxey. Remember the ‘golden tit’ remark?
Mikey Burrows is a shit interviewer! All you do is ask questions that Morgan and Moxey told you to ask. Ask questions that fans want to hear for example ” why was Stearman sold”? , ” what did you think of the fans chanting throughout the game asking for Moxey to leave”?, ” why did McDonald not start the match”? And finally ” how can you kid yourself that you thought you were unlucky in the match your team were awful stop kidding yourself”?
You are all kidding yourselves by blaming Moxey. He works within the parameters he is set. Originally by Sir Jack and then by Morgan. He is an easy target. Morgan can take some of the blame by not being ambitious enough as regards players wages and transfer fees. Moxey is an employee and he works to set objectives.
COD ….. surely the objectives are to get into the Premier League …… after 16 years and achieving it twice simply isn’t good enough with the resources that we have ….
‘He works within the parameters he is set. Originally by Sir Jack and then by Morgan’
Unfortunately the prevalent parameter – ‘self-sufficiency’ – is nonsensical in this day and age. Is Poxey too blind to see that, or is he happy to carry on meeting those terms and getting his hefty salary. I suspect the latter, but surely a CEO should be offering forward guidance as well as the use of his abacus ?
Twixfix.agree totally.
Watching Tim Spiers interview with a pro Moxey fan after Saturdays game and then reading the E&S editorial today it strikes me there’s an insidious attempt to make the manager the scapegoat whilst Moxey survives yet again.
The E&S writes,
‘The home fans voiced their frustration, levelling it chiefly at Moxey. The embattled chief executive suits the pantomime villain role for many, but although he is partly culpable, that ire is misdirected.
Moxey is the money man and as far as ingoing and outgoing transfer fees in recent years, plus reducing the current wage bill, he has done good work.’
Good work?!!! Bloody hell, anybody could reduce the wage bill and make a profit on transfer fees if you sell your top players and buy shit who will play sfor peanuts. I’m disenchanted with Kenny but it’s Morgan and Moxey we need to see gone most.
Not if the E&S have there way.
Good work ..my arse .. as you picked up on Martin.
The worst case scenario … sell all the players, buy cheapo’s from the lower leagues, bullshit the fans with promises that are NEVER kept , just about avoid relegation …this year, emulate CREWE Alex (no disrespect here) … then claim to be a success by reducing the operating costs…. come on E and S …WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO KID EH ??
Best and quickest way to achieve this would be to peddle MOXEY AND THELWELL ….
Spot on Martin..
I cant believe the amount of fans who think Moxey is doing a good job….
If they don’t understand why he has to go there is no point trying to explain it to them…
Got an “E-mail off Moxey yesterday about Wolves Motoring Club!
Silly me I thought we were a Footballing Club.
Can someone give me a reasonable argument as to why Moxey is to blame? I don’t get it.
Surely Morgan is culpable for the current mess – the series of decisions that have left us in this position are his, not Moxey’s:
Sacking McCarthy after the thrashing by the shit. Whatever you think about McCarthy, he is our most successful manager since the turn of the 70s and this was a bad, impulsive and weak decision. Particularly since we had no one lined up. Moxey tried to talk Morgan out of this.
Appointment of Solbakken. Always going to be a gamble. I don’t really blame anyone for this.
Sacking Solbakken and appointing Dean Saunders. Madness. Certainly not from Moxey.
Putting the club up for sale. The opposite of ambition. How will we be able to convince quality players to come to the club when the chairman is obviously sick of the fans and the town in general?
Please tell me if I’m wrong, but how is Moxey personally culpable for this? Give me a list if you like. I see comments about reducing the wage bill, etc, but this has been club strategy for long time – most were well up for the ‘young and hungry’ thing a couple of seasons ago.
I am ambivalent about Jackett. He’s a solid but unspectacular manager. He’s got a hard job this season with players jumping ship, lots of injuries and his recent decision make me think he’s cracking up a bit.
Dave,16 years as the CEO of an organisation, running the club on a daily basis, surely leaves him ultimately responsible for the performance of that organisation and it’s results. It’s sometimes hard to remember at Wolves but the raison d’aitre of a football club is to win football matches, not to make one or two people extremely wealthy.
Moxey’s tenure has very largely been a joyless experience of under achievement and failure, both league and, maybe even more miserably, with the almost complete lack of cup runs.
He has treated the fans with contempt on occasion and I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him…..not very far! It will be a joyous day for me when he goes. If I live to see it!
I think Moxey certainly can share the blame, but you overlook that i the past 16 years we have had 4 years in the premier league, something that we didn’t do during the 80s or 90s, which were a roller coaster but unsuccessful (happy memories of cup runs indeed, elland road especially!!!).
Anyway, we’ve had tougher times before, we’ll get through it
UTW
I agree, 4 years in the Premiership, winning one in a blue moon due to lack of ambition and investment in players and particularly players’ wages.
Yes, things were much worse in the eighties but there were good reasons for that. That’s what is so frustrating, these days the club is all set up to achieve and each time the oppurtunity is wasted.
But of course, UTW.
Im not going to comment on the game, Moxey or all the other paracites BUT E7S and Tim Spiers in particular are full of SHIT……..and yes YOU can quote me on that….!
Everyone’s knocking Jackett, but he’s very little to work with.
Ask yourself why Guardiola is going to Man City, and Mourinho is being lined up for Man U. It’s because they’ve got unlimited funding for transfers and wages. All these ‘best managers in the world’ flit around Europe’s richest clubs and think themselves marvellous when the win a trophy or two. They wouldn’t dream of coming to a club like ours or anywhere else apart from Europe’s moneybag teams ’cause it would be like the Emperor’s new clothes. Their mask of superiority would be ripped away.
Who knows who will buy our club and what their financial plans will be. But I have to look back a long way to remember a Wolves manager I would want at the reins more than KJ to use any funding increase wisely.
So true… If he was in the same situation as Mourinho was at Chelsea, having all the best players at his disposal, and still not being able to do anything to improve the performances and results, I would agree with the knockers. Mourinho did nothing to change the tide. He changed nothing tactically although he had players like Falcao on the bench. He could have changed formation and started to play with two strikers for example, but no, he did shockingly little to favor lady Fortuna, even when his team was “chasing”. At least we have a manager who changes things around when the team doesn’t play well. Sometimes we’ve played with one striker, other times with two. Still, the fans complains on that too.
We complain because Wolves concede too many goals AND we sold two good defenders for footballing reasons.
Oh, and Claudio Ranieri. There’s a quality manager doing a quality job.
What’s the difference between a hippo and a Zippo?
One is very heavy, and the other is a little lighter.
There speaks a man with too much time on his hands.
And many hands make lighter work!!!
I think you should spend some time in the gym rather than making jokes on line.
And don’t come back until you’re MATCH fit!
We’ve got key players out that’s why the forgotten men are back in, and the transfer cock up that meant no Afobe replacement has meant a Bjorn Again situation. I have to admit though that I am puzzled why MacDonald is playing DEFENSIVE M/F and then is dropped, when he was a decent assister and earlier this season was being encouraged to get a few more shots on target….
or maybe he is just being rested ?
Resting
He’s not dead, he’s resting
He’s tired and shagged out after a long squawk.
But he does have beautiful plumage.
Pining for the fjords too

grumpy old wolves fan hoodie – limited time to buy
also t-shirts available – got mine !
It’s a beaut’. Ordered mine. I’ll be the envy of all my friends. Well, a few of them anyway.
Got mine too!
I wonder if Jez has ordered one?
Greetings fellow Sufferers in Gold and Black
Another dreadful performance on Saturday as well documented on these pages.
Never mind – next season we could actually have 5 local derbies
Villa
Birmingham
Coventry
Walsall
Burton Albion (Home of beer brewing and Marmite).
Once again we will have the opportunity to sing that well known ditty from our 60’s battles with Coventry City – to the tune of Snoopy v The Red Baron 1966 sung by The Royal Guardsmen.
Here we go – if I can remember it correctly…….
“After the turn of the century
In the clear blue skies over Coventry
Came a bloody black baron and his golden bird
And this is the song that Coventry heard..
TEN, TWENTY, THIRTY, FORTY, FIFTY OR MORE
COVENTRY SUPPORTERS LAY SPRAWLED ON THE FLOOR,
EIGHTY SCUFFERS DIED TRYING TO END THAT SPREE
THE DAY THE NORTH BANK TOOK COVENTRY.
There is a second verse which starts “In the nick of time a hero arose” but I aint got a clue what follows.
A bit of childish nonsense from the mid 60’s and memories of our promotion battles with The Sky Blues.
I enclose a photograph from the 1967 promotion battle at Highfield Road when over 50,000 sardined into the stadium which remains the highest attendance for a Coventry home fixture by a country mile. For those of us who were there, how did we all get out alive!
The photograph is of a snack bar with dozens on top of a 2-ply felt covered roof. It feel in under the weight of numbers and a mate of mine from the Straits near Gornal landed on top of a tea urn!
Sorry about the reminisce but there is little else to write about at the moment!
Have a great weekend Wolves fans.
BOG
You are making the wild assumption that we don’t get relegated!!
FOwb
That’s a fair point – looking at the table we ain’t that safe and if we continue with current form then no doubt we could get sucked into the mire. However a 14 point gap between us and Rotherham should be enough – shouldn’t it?
How a season that started out with such optimism in August (mind you every August we all feel optimistic – otherwise pointless supporting Wolves) can literally fall apart beggars belief but there is always next term…..
Two musts this weekend – a win at Huddersfield – and a win for Reading. Otherwise the slobs from the dark side will be all over the Express and Star like a rash if the Crem make the quarter finals.
Always positive Clive lol…Williamson will save us incidently..
Hi Bedfordshire Old Gold.
I don’t know if you’ve seen my video of the first Wolves Bloggers’ Ball but it opens with a rendition of the chorus of the very same song, sung by Clive, Scooped, Mark Davies and Twixfix. Although, on watching it again, Twixfix doesn’t do much singing.
If you want to know how it goes, I would think that any one of that ‘fab four’ would be able to help.
Check it out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE9tk2w_TQk
It’s a fair cop DOOG….. my only defence is … “Would you have wanted to be linked with those three out and out scallies?”
NO ….I hear you say …
So besides from not knowing all of the words or being a decent singer …… I kept stum!
Hi DOOGooder,
Thanks for the link…appreciated.
Just checked out the video – not sure about the quality of the singing but the sentiment is there ok! Hard to believe next year it will have been 50 years since the “Coventry crush”.
Interesting as well to hear the choices for three favourite players of all time on the video.
I would not know where to start after 50+ years but naturally Steve Bull is a must for me to start with as he was with virtually everyone on the video.
Maybe we could also have our 3 favourite managers – apart from Stan Cullis for me I would include Graham Turner. What he inherited in the Autumn of 1986 must have been the biggest shambles of any football club in living memory.
Any road up – Have a good weekend
BOG
Yes, I’d go along with those two managers and, until this season, I would have had no doubt about adding KJ to the list.
But due to circumstances, not all beyond his control, He’s blotted his copy book a bit.
So I would go for Bill ‘Smiler’ McGarry. The sourest face in football but possibly the most successful after Cullis – and in charge when my ‘Golden Generation’ were plying their trade in the Molineux mud.
And if you want another laugh, have a look at the second Bloggers’ Ball video.
Maybe see you at the third?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnRp82v8lyY
Cheers – Will check out the second bloggers ball – must be a right laugh.
Thanks for the invitation to the third ball – I think Bedford Wolf is planning to come along as he mentioned it to me last week travelling to the Preston fixture so I will confirm arrangements when we travel up to Derby at The Mol next week.
Don’t believe anything an atom says.
They make up everything.
This must have been a right old game.
Reminds me of that famous picture from the 1998 World Cup I think which was features on that Frank Skinner and David Baddeil football show of the Argentinian player Bergere standing side by side with his teammate Arce – the picture was taken from behind (if you’ll pardon the phrase) with Bergere on the left so their names read Bergere Arce.
