Good old MM can always be relied upon for a decent soundbite.

And his typically dour summary of yesterday’s proceedings was more or less bang on the money:
“Wolves were in the ascendancy in the second half but we have had a great, stubborn, belligerent, professional performance – all those horrible words people don’t like in football but I do because you win games and win leagues by doing that.”
Ipswich didn’t win the game and they aren’t going to win the league, but this result probably means they’re going to come out victorious in the race for sixth position.
Predictable is the most appropriate adjective I can summon to describe a first half that saw Wolves huff and puff and Ipswich coast into the lead from a set piece.
Mick couldn’t have scripted it better as his effervescent rabble suffocated the opposition’s passing game and kept their best players on the periphery of the action.
Afobe could barely get a touch, Sako was crowded out and McDonald played most of his football inside the defensive third of the pitch.
Only Nouha Dicko looked like breaking the stranglehold, ably supported by the odd marauding dash from Dominic Iorfa.
Ironically though, despite Kenny Jackett’s rebuilding efforts over the last eighteen months, it was two relics of the McCarthy era who made the most decisive contributions at either end of the pitch.
First Richard Stearman got up highest to nod in Ipswich’s opener (under pressure from Tommy Smith), before Dave Edwards saw a fine volleyed effort hit the outside of the post.
Edwards was probably Wolves’ most effective player in a game where hard graft counted for more than than invention and craft.
But the unpredictability of Rajiv van La Parra and the predatory instincts of Benik Afobe offered salvation.
Kevin McDonald threaded the pass for the Dutchman to wander into the box and see a deflected shot loop up for Afobe to plunder.
Goal 31 of the season for the striker should have been ignition and lift off, but Wolves simply spluttered and stalled. The tank was empty.
Kenny Jackett watched on from the sidelines, curiously opting to leave them running on fumes. Surely there should have been greater intervention from our head coach?
His only roll of the dice was to withdraw van La Parra, who for all his lapses of judgment looked like the most likely route to goal. James Henry did little.
Kevin Doyle and Michael Jacobs may or may not have offered the required variation, but was it not worth the gamble with clock running down?
Without the impetus of fresh legs, McDonald’s tired cross shot at the death was as close as Wolves came to a winning goal and that was that.
Full time, handshakes all round, disappointed faces and the uncomfortable sense that it was all just too routine for our former boss.
It’s not over yet say the more optimistic amongst us, but to most of the fans trudging away from Molineux in the glorious April sunshine, it felt like the end.
I hope to be proven wrong.

For a must win game 1 shot on target.Sako worst performance l have seen, and it’s the basics that got me the most.lkemes distribution,to Batths lack of composure with his clearances going straight back to them.decision making was poor, and slow.Others will no doubt comment about team selection and tactics but l think Jacket showed too much respect for Ipswich instead of going for it.Not for the first time either.
To be fair to KJ, i dont think he could have started with a stronger attack (Sako, Dicko, Afobe, VLP and Edwards).
Credit to Ipswich for a well organised performance, but I felt we lacked a cutting edge which has scuppered us on so many occasions this season.
I switched off after the first half.
Where was Jack Price??????
After 10 minutes of superiority, McDonald lost the ball, over elaborating.
Afterwards, instantaneously, we lost confidence and everyone tried over elaborating!
Where was Jack Price??????
He does not over elaborate.
He puts his foot on the ball, and makes the play flow in midfield, almost anonymously.
Big mistake leaving him out, like leaving out Dicko…
KJ is not a winner….
It’s ironic that after much of our early success was down to a steely defence, they look to have ultimately cost us over the last three games. We just have to win the last two games (ideally by a few goals) and see what happens. If we do miss out hopefully M&M resist any offers for Dicko and Afobe – I’m resigned to Sako leaving – and I believe we will be a match for anyone next season. Mick got it right, as everyone suspected he would, but only after we allowed him to by gifting them the lead. Shame we didn’t have enough to get that second.
Worst performance this year from Sako, always trying to do too much, might be an element of show boating for the TV. In my opinion should have come off on the hour if not earlier.
Not sure why we recall Jacobs and then not use him, Van La Parra again hit and miss, Henry anonymous. Poor old Edwards and Big Mac left in midfield to carry the threat.
Considering we had to win this game I was left slightly disappointed in the lack of urgency , lack of blood and guts shown in the second half.
A couple of decent wingers and a midfield hardman for next year please Mr Morgan
Too tired and disappoinTed to comment.
On the balance of play I think we deserved the win. Just an OG and the width of a post away from 2-0. I just hope we can get ourselves right up for the next 2 games, I really don’t want them to go out with a wimper.
Yeh kind of agree with whats been said, its disappointing to think we had a great chance of more glory & in the end were not up for it or good enough to get over the line.
Surely it was harder to beat Derby at home & Forest away than it was to lose to Blues, and not beat a pretty moribund Ipswich team at home.
But I don’t blame anyone for that its just how things have gone this season, all through the season we could’ve had points aplenty to get to the playoffs. The November blight without Dicko, & those two games at Millwall & Reading where we gave away 3 & 2 goal leads late on, despairing that!
I’ve got a lot of time for KJ & this fresh looking team he’s built with local talent & academy presence in contrast to the top sides in the Prem.
So I’m OK with how we’ve done this season, I hope we can keep the likes of Dicko, Afobe & McDonald, as they along with Batth, Iorfa are the fulcrum of a very good side.
We do need supplementing with strength throughout the side but the building blocks are in place.
I thought Ikeme was withdrawn, and not the same commanding presence between the sticks since returning from injury. Sako also looked poor generally throughout. But 8 out of 10 this season, & next season onwards & upwards I hope its a 10 out of 10!
This fixture stank of a draw IMO probably because we have lost our edge particularly in midfield (we needed that purchase) and we seem to be tired..
I thought Stears was out jumped but either way their guy got up well and we showed again how vulnerable we are on corners and set pieces..
Afobe is truely fantastic he took his goal well.. Dicko took all the physical pressure..but what happend to Sako?
Anyway I expected to get 6 points out of the last 3 matches and we got 1 so
I’m throwing in the towel this season..
I know it’s possible and there are some potential slip ups with the other three but in this form are we even worth 6 points out of Wigan and Millwall?
I am not too enamoured by constant comments of ‘well we didn’t expect us to do this well’ we need another season ..too soon…blah blah..
QUITE PLAINLY we had the team, (all be it short on squad )the chances to make sure..the tactical nouse available from KJ..the opportunities against bottom of the leage clubs and we blew it..
We are probably going to loose out on the play offs by GD or up to 3 points..but it really was possible to of had auto promotion and in the dire circumstances re Sako leaving and a probable team change round..will we have this opportunity again for some time?
KJ has to put his hands up for some of his decisions this season..
The promised land was so close..
I’m realistic to say it’s the end of our play off dreams, mathematics aside. For sure we huffed and puffed but believe me I got far more satisfaction from our performance than I did from watching Ipswich. Neanderthal tactics and negative stifling of the opposition talent. If Mick admires those attributes … good riddance I say.
I’d like to add how piss poor the ref was .. Stuart Atwell is so weak I wonder how we get such short change with match officials. It certainly needed someone stronger with the physicality of Ipswich.
So it’s another season in the Championship.
Moxey declared that anything less than a play off place would be a disappointment. .. Hackett has done remarkably well with the tools he’s been given … THE PROBLEM IS THE TWO TOOLS ABOVE HIM…..
Jackett not Hackett … sorry …
I’m Carrying n now ….
As Moxey stated ref: Achieving a Top Six place …
Well now that seems highly unlikely and given that Jackett has worked his magic with the Tools he’s been given ….. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF FAILURE TO ACHIEVE THAT TARGET NOW FALLS AT THE FEET OF MORGAN AND MOXEY.
I’d like to know how they’re going to excuse themselves from their continual failure to achieve what the real fans and community of WWFC deserve.
We don’t see any Mission Statements or Objectives simply because those pair NEVER ACHIEVE THEM … MOXEY is extremely well remunerated .. WHERE DOES THE BUCK STOP !
Good comment. Just a reminder that Attwell is the referee who sent off Milijas at Arsenal and wouldn’t rescind the red card when evidence showed it was play acting by that arsehole Arteta
Great spot Basingstoke … He’s up here with Mike Jones … inIMO these useless refs will never get better or improve their persona … they just carry on causing havoc and anger…
It’s a funny old world. While a lot of people thought Berra was a total numpty, the only thing that got me with him was his habit of hanging on to the opposition strikers shirts in our box. I always thought he was going to give away a penalty. So like most people I wasn’t sorry to see him go but he turned out to be the difference between us reaching the play-offs and becoming also rans . Sadly for me he was MOTM.
Yes and did you notice how much weight he has lost since he was with us ? Doesn’t it make you wonder why McCarthy allowed him to be so FAT ???
I didn’t notice but you are spot on.
AND NOW THE END IS NEAR AND SO I FACE THE FINAL CURTAIN… (SID VICIOUS VERSION) AND THERE WAS FUCK. FUCK ALL ELSE TO DO.. Because we are Wolves and we all know that we will be back next season. It’s just the way it is. Morgan and Moxey will come and go but we will be here. As always because WE ARE WOLVES. That will never change.
Well, greasel’s wife will be clearing her fat throat right about now, and I for one will not be sad to see the back of Sako.
He is a luxury who misses more than he hits, and my hope is the money we get for him will be invested in the team.
Now it’s time to wake up.
Those two tossers who run our beloved club will never re invest, so next season it will be same old, same old.
We labored in this fuckin’ division for nearly twenty years after Bully’s goals got us back to back promotions.
I fear we may be here for a similar length of time if morgan and greasel aren’t fucked off or terminated some other way.
Even the shit won yesterday.
Fucked up weekend all round, with the Villa winning today as well.
Time to hit the Boddingtons methinks!!
See y’all in 10 days.
We wont get any money for him Clive he is a free man at seasons end…
He will free up quite a chunk of wages though. I would think he’s far too inconsistent for most Prem teams though. He’ll hardly get a game.
I would think he’s far too inconsistent for most Prem teams. He’ll hardly get a game. He will free up a big lump of wages though, if he does go.
Mmmm, how did that happen? Technology eh!
What happens if we beat Wigan 5-0 and it comes to the last game and Ipswich are away at Blackburn? At least it will keep the milwall game interesting. I don’t believe we can make it now but 2 thumping wins and you never know what pressure can do to the teams above you. I’m very down but not quite out for the count. Not till its all over. Derby or Ipswich lose next game which is far from impossible in this crazy league and at least we can have last day hope even if it ends in Dissapointment. Hope they feel less pressure know and play with freedom
Kenny has tried overloading the team with forward players a few times this season in key fixtures and it hasnt really worked. To be at his best Edwards needs a free role between midfield and attack. Most of the forwards were starved of any creative service and started going back to look
for the ball. I thought Parra was better than Sako actually Sako was awful he couldnt sort his legs out looked like he was in one of those old school sacko races.
I am not really that bothered if he leaves todays footballers are not my heroes in the same way they were in yester year. The days when money wasn’t everything and you could bump into the players in the pub.
We have had a good couple of seasons under Kenny and it will be interesting to see how it goes next season. Still not sure if he is quite up to getting us to the Prem but he deserves the chance. We need another centre mid and maybe a central defender in the summer.
What a great result. I managed to get to A Parkview around 10.20 along with my mate Bob and met up with theDOOGooders, The Twixfixes, Mark Davies, Scooped and London wolves loyal. Great to see you all again folks. A great chat, a nice coffee and I think there was some football on too. Now that is what I call a result – see you all on the 2nd May..
Strange how people are suddenly turning on Sako.. Probably because they know he is going to leave ?
Yes he was poor this game but so were the other 10.. without him the last 2 years god knows where we would be.
Why did Ikeme get back into the side when we had clean sheets without him, suddenly he returns and we let in goals for fun..
Why has Ricketts been loaned out, since he has gone the defence has gone to pieces I am led to believe he was working with them behind the scenes and we were getting clean sheets..
Make no mistake Its the defence which has cost us the chance of a playoff place… We are now insisting on giving them own goals every home game…
You can blame the strikers all you want but when you get games like this 1 goal can be the difference.
Batth and Stearman are simply not good enough at this level on a consistent basis…
Although I do take the point made before that we were playing the ref again..
difficult to play football against a team that only wants to play rugby…
As for Berra if he was man of the match there’s no hope.. The sky cameras clearly didn’t pick up the persistent fouling and shirt pulling and arms around people that I saw from my seat…
I haven’t followed the blog for a long time, so was disappointed on my return to read so much opinion being expressed as fact – I wonder how many of the contributors actually attend Molineux with any regularity – watching games on TV or video isn’t quite the same and clearly gives a different perspective.
For the record, Sako has been a wonderful player for us – pace, power, invention and commitment – I say we will miss him more than we know right now – let’s hope he stays at least one more season.
I’d also add that Ikeme bring back between the sticks is 100% the right decision – Kuszak cost us goals with some poor keeping – notably failing to deal with Troy Deeney’s equaliser against Watford, costing us 2 points.
The sad thing for me is that we’ve been more than good enough to secure a playoff place and small margins mean that we may now miss out – in fact I would only put Norwich and possibly Derby ahead of us in terms of actual strength of squad. It would be interesting to list the lost points this season, from 3 against Bournemouth at home, another 2 to Milwall away, we bossed Rotheram away and couldn’t score losing to a late winner, another point gone, and it goes on, latterly losing a point at Blues – poor Scotty didn’t deserve that – he has been so consistent.
In the end it’s just a game of football, but it does matter to so many of us and whether it’s playoffs, promotion or 8th it’s been a very good season thanks to KJ and the boys.
I’ve been going for 60 years and have been a ST holder for 40 yrs overall with the last 25 as a continuous ST holder.
It’s my opinion but it’s what I see ….
Im just left totally frutrated by being held by McCarthys anti football. No-one has mentioned the worlds most obvious red card either. Yes Ipswich were organised but how theyve got in the playoffs playing that long ball rubbish is a mystery. They wanted a draw and kicked and clawed their way to it. McCarthy is too stubborn to learn and IF Ipswich go up, he’ll make the same mistakes as with us and with Sunderland. He’s a poor mans Tony Pulis.
Here’s some things i’ve learned from Saturday
1. Sako, no matter how bad he’s playing, is either undropable or unsubable.
2. Ref point 1, we dont have any left wing cover.
3. Stearman and Batth need competition. Granted KJ tried to sign Harry McGuire but without real challenge, they’ve not been able to keep up the performance levels for the entire season. Can someone tell KJ that Hause is actually a centre back.
4. Ikeme, despite having a few months off to reflect, doesnt realise how bad his kicking is. What exactly did Kuszczak do wrong?
5. Afobe is lazy. He profits from Dicko’s running and work rate. If Dicko isnt playing or is out of form, Afobe isnt as effective.
6. We need another option for McDonald. He’s gone into his shell after the Birmingham mishap but we dont have enough choices to rest him for a few games. Suddenly we look very reliant on him.
7. We need Jack Price. No he’s not the saviour but has much more of a defensive instinct than Edwards who for all the running in the world is an attacking midfielder.
8. The South Bank have robbed the new chant “it’s magic”. Leicester used it first for Cambiasso, i do much prefer ours but i think sone royalties may be due.
You heard it here first
Agree with you on every point.
” It’s the hope that gets you” ill never forget those words Ben. And hope is all I’ve got left. Hope Morgan will fuck off back to the pool. Hope that Moxey will spin out of control on his motorbike and hit a tree but with all that fat he’s got round him it will act like an air bag.
But as someone has said already the Morgans and Moxeys won’t be here for ever and when they finally drag there sorry caucuses out of Molineux there time will be remembered for mediocrity and stagnation they won’t be remembered like Sir Jack.
Funny how strong and resilient Ipswich looked yesterday. Our teams under Mick always seemed feeble and overwhelmed by the opposition.
Unless it’s just the difference between a half decent Championship team and a Prem.
We didn’t look feeble or overwhelmed in the Championship under him, did we?
The only reason we haven’t made the playoffs, lack of investment in the player’s that KJ identified.
IMO the two M’s + the board cost us like they always do.players like Bamford, Wilson ,are just a few to mansion.
KJ has worked miracles with what he had at his disposal OK he’s made mistakes but if he doesn’t get the backing next season I wouldn’t blame him if he walks away.
Let’s finish off with 2wins and see what happens. UTW.
Glad we didn’t give that big nosed bastard the welcome he thought he would get.
I used the word ‘dire’ to my son to describe how I felt about our first half performance. That certaintly summed up my feelings.
With McDonald playing more like a sweeper in front of the back four it was no wonder we never threatend the opposition, when we did it was only due to the workrate of Dicko. The rest of the team seemed more intent on not conceeding rather than trying to generate any sort of meaningful attacking play.
Second half we saw McDonald push further into his normal position which provided some penetration, albiet not very effective.
All in it was a very disppointed display from a team that we know can play much better.
What did surprise me was that KJ though we played well.
I must have been watching a different match Kenny
*I should also mention that Iorfa, at least showed some urgency with his forward runs. I thought he had a decent game.
In truth if we had strengthened when the opportunity was there we would have possibly taken top 2 places..Ince Lingard Drinkwater Bent Cameron to name a few recently and others like Pritchard Wilson Woods past windows. .didn’t we here that imminent loan deals were been done and watch this space , 2 out 2 in ..Every other top team strengthened but us..Ince lingard going to Derby and scoring for fun !!
At the end it’s about ambition and to be brutally honest Morgan won’t want to spend otherwise he would have..Moxey for all his faults is the puppet master..
false promises war chests for transfers all spin and it won’t change…
There are plenty of managers who play ‘percentage football’, because, quite frequently, it works. We, as fans, reaped the benefits of that six years ago under Mick but at the same time we had our bellyful of watching it week in week out.
On it’s day under KJ, the team is a joy to behold, but when the cogs don’t quite mesh it can all go wrong. Against Micks mob, for whatever reason, it didn’t happen, and despite a few moments in the second half when my hopes were briefly raised, I think I knew the minute Stears scored their goal that it was gonna be one of those days.
Coming up is our last year with parachute payments and our first without the bloodsuckers and Kevin Doyle on the payroll. Despite the foreboding of others, I think the powers that be will realise this is a great chance to build on the doubtless successes of this season with some decent signings. The two M’s know that if they are to fully line their own pockets as the fans expect the Prem is the place to do it and the upcoming season is our best chance to get there.
So, if indeed our race this year is run, I expect the summer signings to surprise and delight us in equal measure, and for us to be there or thereabouts in twelve months time.
Not sure that I expect the ‘powers that be to realise this is a great chance……’ or that ‘the summer signings will surprise and delight…..’ But I sincerely hope they will. And we know what hope does……..
It’s just that, with the parachute money running out in a years time, and all the dross departed, they’ll see this season as our best chance of getting back where we belong.
I’m a bit late contributing to this blog but after our trip back to Mother Wiltshire yesterday, it was straight off to Bristol to see the inimitable Count Arthur Strong.
It’s a life of non-stop hedonism in theDOOGooder household.
But The Count was on fine form. I haven’t laughed so much since Moxey said that not getting into the play offs would be a disappointment (considering the huge amount of money he’d splashed out on in trying to ensure that we would).
I was certainly disappointed on Saturday.
The stage was set for great things.
A decent bloggers turn out at the PVH.
We cut a pretty mean dash in our ‘Fruit of the Brompton’ personalised polo shirts and the sun was shining from a clear blue sky.
And to cap it all, when I took my seat in the Steve Bull, I found that I was sitting only a couple of rows in front of the Zepmeister himself, Mr R. Plant.
Then the game started and it all went tits up.
We huffed and we puffed but we couldn’t break down the straw house that was built by the tractor man.
There has been a lot written about lack of effort – I didn’t see that – but we were certainly lacking a cutting edge in the final third of the pitch.
To pick out a few players’ performances:-
Dicko – ran his socks off and is absolutely ESSENTIAL to our team.
Such a shame that it was he who missed an absolute sitter of a header which would have given us all three points.
Edwards – likewise. Chasing everything that moved.
Ikeme – I’ve always thought that distribution was his weak point and on Saturday it was abysmal.
Who teaches goalkeepers nowadays to kick from their hands with the outside of their boot and their leg going across the ball rather than through it?
How can you control the direction that the pill is going to go?
It’s like cross bat slogging in cricket.
Get it wrong and you’re out.
But I’m prepared to give him the benefit because he has saved us on countless occasions.
Batth – I am starting to worry about him big time. There’s more to a defender’s job than heading the ball straight back to the opposition.
Van la Parra – much the same as ever really.
Iorfa – a big talent in the making. Sign him up on a looooooong contract Mr Moxey.
The other results from the Championship later on means that the portly diva hasn’t yet sung, and I still think there is a twist to come in the tail of the season.
Or am I just a pathetic, misguided fan who just won’t accept the horrible truth?
I expect I’m not alone if I am.
The Doogooder and AJ Wolf are closest to my views on the game and the season. I do think the defence is not as good as we assumed it to be. Danny B has not really progressed much since last season and Golbourne similarly. I can’t get behind the Moxey/Morgan stuff. I think they should have invested more but I am also delighted we have not had the financial disasters that some other well-known teams have had. I
I wanted and expected top six and a little bit more ambition would have done it. Maybe Boukari will surprise us and not turn out to be another Matt Murray spending all next year where he has spent the last three.
And yes I go to many games.
Next season I expect Hause to feature more at the centre of defence and Iorfa will continue to be a start player. But we need another tough midfielder with a track record. The odd experienced player is no bad thing. And our wingers need replacement assuming the excellent Sacko (despite foibles) goes.
You are certainly not alone. Until it is mathematically impossible, there is still that hope.
No, you are certainly not alone, and, if it happens to be just us two, I will drink a glass or two with you right to the end.
A blog within a blog – brilliant Mr D.
While i agree financial backing fell short cant agree that there wasn’t any. Ipswich spending has been about a tenth of what we spent on Saville. Also i am not a fan of loan deals for failing stars it will be interesting to see the fall out at Derby if they dont go up.I like Ben Hughes comments on this topic.
Interesting the Newcastle protest I suggest that at the last home game that all the fans turn there back on Morgan and co in the directors box for 1 minute at 10 minutes into the game the significance of ten being he brought the clud for £10……..any body up for it ?
Read my post below, then decide if you still want to turn your back on Morgan for 10 seconds let alone a minute.
I had my photo taken with Moxey at the Boro game to piss CFH off, I can’t find my feckin wallet since then.
Happy days mucker, happy days
🙂
Met Ben in MacDonalds yesterday and it appeears Saturday morning and Sunday football gave us both more to talk about than the piss poor show at the Molineux Towers.
Ben’s lad’s team won and so did my Grandson’s by the way, so not all that fruitless a weekend after all.
Wolves now there’s a team, first half was a blur wish I’d gone to watch my Grandson that morning and I would have just made it back in time to miss the OG or should I say OMG not again.
Evans, two against Derby,
Batth 3 penalty’s on thre consecutive games back in the Autumn.
Golbourne against Brum ( uncharactaristic)
Stears Saturday.
Batth’s perfect shot on Goal a couple of weeks ago.
Why has this defence suddenly become so generous, we were the best in the league at one point, but then again we were also Top of the league for about 2 hours.
.
Has no one noticed that if Rotherham lose one game and Wigan and Millwall win their’s we’re screwed anyway, so no matter what other teams do at the top end these two will be fighting for their lives, and to be honest against this Wolves team who don’t seem to be able to raise their game when it matters it does not bode well for the two easy wins predicted a couple of weeks ago.
StuWolf is looking at Holidays with Jenny De awolf, we shall be suitably attired in our Brompton designer shirts at the PVH after our trip to shout them on at Wigan. It’s well out of our hands now, so let’s be thankful for Kenny Jacketts style of football as opposed to Mick McBoring Carthys.
Onward to next season with false promises abound, knife weilding handshakes from M&M and repetitive pre match releases to keep us paying our sheckles ti see the boys in Old Gold & Black.
One day, One day, ( but probably Only one day)
🙂
Fuck it…..
Let’s all have a Disco
Let’s all have a Disco
Da da da da
Da da da da
I shall call you when I get there on Saturday mate. I will be with Bob from Preston who has become a proper Wolves fan now.
I understand there may be a reduction in points for Rotherham due to them allegedly playing an ineligible player in our of their earlier games. If that occurs, then Milwall will be very happy.
On saturday I am cheering on Millwall, Reading and Forest. And then on the 2nd May I will be shouting for Reading, Wigan and Blackburn. Both weekends, I will also be shouting for Wolves of course.
Re protest i am prepared to stop in the View bar 12 till 2 on 2nd of May.
But will you swallow your pride and wear one of Brompton’s Polo shirts now, that would be a protest.
🙂
You know what Stu think i have missed out here they are going to be rare items of memrobilia i have seen one on ebay already !
No you haven’t. All accounted for, so whatever you saw is a fake. As they are personalised, we will all know who is selling it if they do!
Down boy…no doubt just a joke Brompto..
Yeah, I was joking too. It is a shame you (not you personaly, you as a generic term)cannot read the tone (ie laughter) in the written word. I chuckle at times, because what is written may be written in jest but can often be read as serious.
Whatever happens, be it we win our next two and both Ipshit and Brentford lose theirs or ……………………. I don’t care. We have had a really good season and I am happy. I am off to Wigan on Saturday, and so look forward to the gathering on the 2nd. We will all have something to discuss, be it positive or negative.
My glass is still half full.
See you soon buddy.
But the ones I had made over here have a blank space above the logo where anyone can write in their name.
These are the ones going for 20p on EBay and Craigs List!!
Any color you want as long as it’s black!!
Hey Pinocchio.
Every bugga in the World knows you don’t get anything made in the good ol US of A.
Even the proud flag that you all wave is made in China.
🙂
ones? you have more than one? Bet you had yours made in Pink mate!!!!
Spot on report Thomas.
Terribly disappointing result, but Ipswich strangled the life out of us and we couldn’t cope.
We miss a leader in the Ince/Rae mould.
I would love us to go out and buy Alex Pritchard from Spurs, who is currently on loan at Brentford – small, but skilful, gets a foot in, great set piece and I think has 10 goals this season. Last season he was the best player on the pitch when we dismantled Swindon at the County Ground and kept going right to the end.
IMO the ideal team mate to take a bit of the pressure off Macca when he gets twin teamed by the opposition.
Probably too expensive on transfer fee and wages, plus if the Bees go up, why would he want to leave London?
UTW!
Disappointingly predictable. I like the way KJ sets the team up to play out from the back and generally have no criticism of his team selections. Having said that, 2 questions re Saturday;
Why, when it was obvious that both Sako and RvLP were being doubled up on did he not switch to a narrow diamond in midfield giving the full backs more space to get forward ?
Where was the urgency ? There are some matches when you can afford to sit back and be patent waiting for a breakthrough. There are others when you simply have to go for the throat from the start, like Saturday. Sadly only Nouah Dicko seemed to realise this.
As for Ipswich, dull as ditchwater, horrible to watch and the least talented of the top 8. I wouldn’t swap a single player of ours for one of theirs.
Very brief highlights of the game and a few seconds of a rock God.
Shortly after the goal I was threatened with ejection from the ground if I didn’t stop filming.
A bit odd as it was live on Sky.
Did they think that my YouTube audience would be bigger than theirs?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kZiBV9Lj90
Cant use the reply link on desk top version my phone is having trouble loading it. I was only half joking on the Blog Polo Brompton – its up there mate i should have had one !
Not too late Colin, I’m sure you’ll look just dapper in a blog polo.
Go on you know you want to.
🙂
Colin, Not a problem mate. If people want one that is fine, if they choose not to then that is fine too. Mark Davies said he could not remember if he ordered one, so I asked him to chuck me an email and I can get one done. If you want one, let me know at stevelbiles@hotmail.com. and we can discuss.
Clear out the doom and gloom, whatever happens we are Wolves!
Now let’s here some corkers for the caption contest!
Starting with… Ahhh that’s Berra.
“What do you reckon mate, do you reckon I could smuggle at least 6 budgies in these babies”
“You’ve had your hands all over me all match, do you wanna play with these as well?”
“You berra believe it mate, we were bollox”
“I was only trying to show him my elephant impersonation!”
“If you thought you were going to stop me scoring against you then you must be nuts”
Is that your quote or his?
Mine were Speedo’s until I got arrested on the beach.
Cheap Chinese shite the first “S” had fallen off.
By some of the comments you are not the only paedo on here.
DOOGooder, does RP still sit around J7 or J8 area? I presume he’s still got the same seat that he’s had for donkeys years.
It used to be quite entertaining watching how many people either approaching him for his autograph, were pointing at him and others with confused faces (younger gen) not knowing who he was when someone was trying to explain the gravity of who he is. I presume the scenario as not changed.
Yep, that’s where I found him.
And Nope, still the same scenario.
But mostly, he remains the same genuine and approachable guy he always was.
I liked how he pulled a face at you when he saw you filming him.
Caption…’I allways want a piss when I score a goal’
I think we have been a little unfortunate over the last 2 or 3 years. Relegated from championship on 54 points (a record high point total). Promoted from league 1 with a record high points total. This year already on 72 points with 2 games left. 72 points normally gets you in the play offs. A couple of years ago 68 points did it. So yes we are all a bit fed up but it is still a good achievement by the team/manager in my book. In another year we may have already booked a play off place.
At last, some good positive thinking. I have not had a problem with what we have achieved this season. It is normal however for fans to want that bit more when we get so close. Had we been say 12th with no chance of getting in the play offs a few games ago, I wonder what would have been said then? I personally would have been happy with that and I certainly look forward to what next season brings. Ok, so we may not have Sako, but I trust in Kenny to get a good replacement in and believe that we will be promoted next season (if we are not promoted this one).
Well he’s already stated today “that some of these players are playing for their futures” that speaks volumes to me.
With respect to playing for their futures… I do not agree that the next 2 games should define whether they are good enough for us next season. I remember when you could tell Ferguson Jnr was up for his contract renewal as he played a blinder in the games leading up, then once comfortable he’d go back to playing hot and cold. The players should be based on performance overall.
Now I’m off my soap box!
Hey, don’t shoot the messenger.
If it were up to me, there woulfd only be about 5 maximum there for the next push.

No one makes fish and chips like The English
The closest I came to good USA fish and chips was in Homer, Alaska, pretty much the farthest away you can drive from Houston without getting your feet wet.
It was a little cafe and served cubes of halibut on a stick with chips cooked in proper fat/lard….by an English guy!
After a 10,000 mile trip from Tampa, Florida, it was as if I’d reached the Molineux…..heaven!

I have just looked up the Wolves Blog Postcard to see if it has been anywhere alse apart from theDOOGooders residence. Nope, nowt, diddlysquat, zilch. I guess it has either gone missing, is being ignored by the recipient or is on theDOOGooders mantlepiece.
I also note that out of the 7 reports, only 2 are regular bloggers, that is both Clive and Mark.
Are we going to hasten, or write this off as MIA and a new one posted to someone who is going to do something when they receive it. Can you shed some light on this anyone?
Well you aint gonna get it, coz you are too tight fisted to buy a stamp to mail it onwards, so it would end up languishing on your tent mantelpiece thingy.
Thomas asked me to send it on pretty sharpish to a Wolves supporting naval officer who’s ship was docking at Portsmouth Naval Base.
That was in February 2014.
I posted it off and it’s all gone quiet since.
See……….. typical Navy!!! Lost at Sea.
So he was pleading? That explains the photo!
