With all the technology flooding into football, it’s odd that nothing has been done to address the issue of time-wasting.
If we did away with the lottery of injury time and agreed the clock was only ticking when the ball is in play we could put this to bed once and for all.

No more defenders whining about sudden onset cramp, no more jogging back to the bench, no more keepers lining up goal kicks like they’re Jonny Wilkinson.
It’s a pantomime and everyone just plays along.
This isn’t a dig at Burnley specifically by the way who I refuse to lambast for one simple reason – every team does it.
OK, they well and truly maximized their opportunity to drain down the seconds once Ashley Barnes had fired them ahead, but so what?
If the roles had been reversed Wolves would have done very similar things.
Change the rules or introduce a solution.
Thankfully technology wasn’t our enemy today and Raul despatched the VAR-endorsed spot-kick with trademark nerveless aplomb.
It looked like the moment had been and gone after our Mexican magician saw his neat spin and finish come back off the post.
Those were the only two real goal-bound efforts of note from a jaded looking Wolves team who never really found a rhythm.
Burnley should have been over the hills and far away with the copious chances they created and we have Rui Patricio to thank again for bailing us out. He’s been the standout player so far this season.
Barnes and Wood are a handful and they opened us up with relative ease in the first half as Bennett, in particular, struggled to cope with the bombardment.
It probably didn’t help that to his right Matt Doherty wasn’t really at the races. He’s lacking the 10% that a full pre-season would have given him and should have been hooked sooner.
Quite why Nuno waited so long to introduce Traore only he can comment but Burnley had to sacrifice three players to stop him every time he had the ball, which opened spaces elsewhere that had previously been locked down.
Vinagre should probably have been on too with Jonny’s end product in the final third nowhere near incisive enough when teams sit back and defend.
Credit to all involved though for hanging in there and stretching the undefeated record.
And the fact they snaffled the point in the 7th minute of injury time only serves to make it all the sweeter.

According to the new rules of the blog – if you want to say anything about the game, it has to be positive:-
Raul hit the post.
Raul scored a penalty.
The end.
How is Duckie?
A bit deflated after yesterday.
Well that was a damp patch, a limp effort, a performance lacking passion, a one sided affair.
I don’t want to watch that rubbish again too soon. Back to the days of Cardiff of last season.
I wonder how the Burnley fans must be feeling today, after their team had fought so valiantly and perfected the time wasting we were subjected to was a right bummer for them. Little wonder so few made the trip to Molineux to watch a team that were sitting 4th in the league right up until the 95th minute, only to have the result snatched from them in the 97th minute.
That boring goalie even tried to waste time on the penalty by standing in front of Raul, even though the ref was telling him to get on his line. I absolutely loved it when Jimenez got his rewards by doing exactly the same by standing there after the ref blew the whistle, before calmly stepping up and dispatching the ball with swagger.
That was the signal for the Wolves fans to go into raptures with the relief of snatching a point from the boring, boring, boring, boring, boring Burnley, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
I was losing the will to live as early as the half time whistle.
Definitely a team to forget, the quicker they are sent back to the Championship the better for me, boring, boring, boring Anti football we are not accustomed to.
Rant over, off to watch some more paint dry….
Yes, some people can get a bit tetchy if someone criticise’s our glorious team.
🙂
I agree 100% with your time wasting comments, Thomas, but Sean Dick’s mantra actually worked in our favour.
However, we really didn’t deserve anything from this boring slog.
Gibbs White in particular was anonymous, and quite a few others had very off days.
Still, we see again that the likes of Burnley will employ hoofball every game, knowing that the law of averages will eventually serve up a chance or two.
And average is what they are.
Boringly average.
Dr. N has to learn from this, that there will be a lot of teams doing similar stuff, and he HAS to find ways around it.
Let’s see off Torino and Everton and have a well deserved two week break.
Keep the faith, boys and girls, and give the ball to Raul!!
Burnley might be average but at least they came to play and at various times took the game to us. Well above average for an average team who are in the top league with a well above average manager. We were pretty average too and it was only when Traore came on did we look like threatening the goal and thanks to the law of averages VAR went for us this week. Hopefully we’ll be able to get past an average Italian team on Thursday.
Been home for 45 minutes. Feking traffic.
Well, that was quite a shit game to be honest. Better be better on Thursday.
No further comment.
On what will be subsequently known as Sir Ben Stokes day Wolves looked all Europa’d out!
Poor performance by any stretch & outplayed physically today. Can’t afford to leave out our most physical midfield player Dendoncker at any price. If MGW is to get minutes he has to operate just behind Jiminez, he’s too liable to lose the ball in key midfield areas.
Thought our keeper saved us as Burnley could’ve been 3-0 to the good by H-T. Netto shows massive potential & with Jota looking below par to have him or Cutrone to come in is a big positive this season’s signings bring.
Got out of jail yes. Burnley definitely did enough to win. But we reverted to long throw tactics & it paid off.
Don’t know what the answer is to us being all footballed out, rotation hasn’t really worked thus far. The rested players Neves & Bennett were arguably the worst performers today.
Burnley let themselves down with excecessive timewasting but I don’t know how you stop it, other than booking players who offend & add the minutes on. Anything that involves more use of technology I think I’d scream at.
I think it’s going to be one hell of a tough, tough season with teams getting all sorts of unexpected results. But Wolves need a step up in class next Prem game, got to break our win duck.
Tough ask given the Europa commitment.
Whilst I suspect that there was nothing wrong with Burnley’s goal, Barnes appeared to bring it down with his chest/shoulder with left arm a little wide of his body. Surprised that VAR did not look at it closely from a variety of angles to ensure there was no handball / contact with the arm at all. Certainly no “rock and roll” of point of contact to be certain. The inconsistencies worry me.
All goals are checked by VAR
I know it was checked… but my point was that it seemed pretty superficial. Think how many times they rolled back and forward on Boly and how many angles.
That’s down to the broadcaster. The VAR officials will look at the incident from all angles
Reminds me a bit of the Newcastle game last year when they tried holding on to their 1-0 lead by time wasting only for Boly to pop up in the 95th to square it away, much to the chagrin of “Bunter” Benitez who stormed off stomping his feet complaining that the referee added on all the minutes he tried wasting. 🙂
Teams have to learn that trying to hold on to a 1-0 lead against this Wolves team, even on their “offest” of days, is futile. They don’t give up! And to me, that’s a characteristic that I know long term will make us winners. Everyone can win games when they’re in form and the ball rolls their way all game; but to dig deep and keep fighting till the end when nothing is happening all game long and you’ve had enough … champions!
Game was crap today. It happens. Big picture: we’re one game away from the Europa League Group Stage, and still undefeated. It’s all good.
Burnley’s done. Let’s finish off Torino. “One game at a time”, as the wise man said! 😉
Go Wolves!!!
Arrived at the last minute after staying in the pub, with loads of others, to watch Sir Ben pull off his minor miracle.
Spotted MGW had replaced Dendoncker and feared the worst. MGW with Nuno’s guidance could become a very good player. But versus a big physical team his tricks and flicks don’t work and in the first half particularly Burnley ran all over us. Add a number of players not being at their best I thought we were lucky to go in at half time only 1-0 down.
The irony is that had Burnley kept playing their game rather than wasting time they could well have won the game after 45 minutes and I suspect we would not have had so many minutes added on in which to find an equaliser.
Definitely one of our worst performances for some time and a break after Everton will hopefully restore our main men. I take consolation in we get things out of games when well below par.
Having cooled off a bit, it must have been getting on for 90 degrees in old money in The Steve Bull, and slept on it after a few refreshing drinks, I have a few more words to say.
Burnley came with a game plan to hoof long balls up to their two big men up front – and to waste as much time as possible.
And we couldn’t cope with it.
Time and again, high bouncing balls flummoxed our back three and they were made to look a bit pedestrian by the Burnley runners.
That, along with our creative midfield players having a terrible day, Jota again looking way off form and Doherty clearly not match fit, made for a performance which was possibly the worst I’ve seen in the last couple of seasons.
The one bright point for me was our penalty in THE 97th MINUTE.
John Lennon sang about it – and it came to pass for that twat of a goalkeeper, Pope.
We’ve all witnessed time wasting but that was just piss taking.
When referees see such blatant cheating why don’t they simply say to the miscreant, “The next time I consider you are wasting time it’s a yellow card, the time after that, you’re off pal!”.
And I just have to mention the heroics of Ben Stokes in the Headingley Test.
What a performance!
Let’s hope for something similar from The Wolves on Thursday.
“Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Everyone come on!”
Spot on Dougie particularly re Poulsen’s (?) refusal to book Pope who started timewasting in the first half ffs!
I guess Instant Karma got the Clarets in the end.
I don’t think that we should ever criticise time wasting because when the boot’s on the other foot and all that ………
It’s up to the officials to do their job properly and that’s where the real problem lies because they seldom do.
Definitely a below-par performance and one we were lucky to gain anything from. Passing was off today and when the ball did reach its intended target, too often the first touch was lax and it bounced yards away and was lost.
Burnley pressured us all over the park and for much of the game, we couldn’t cope.
Tired?? Maybe, but perhaps this is only part of the reason. The team has been switched around over the last few games so physical and mental tiredness shouldn’t be a massive issue yet. I feel that the bigger problem is lack of time for the meticulous preparation on each opponent that Nuno and the coaches give to the team before each game. With only three or four days between games, there is scarcely any time for tactical analysis and for players to be drilled in their roles for that match. It’s hard to see any way around that problem.
Hopefully we’ll see our way through this current busy period without too much damage being done.
Agree with Stuwolf and so like the paint watching caption.
Burnley got EXACTLY what they deserved from this game …. 1point…. when we all know it should have been 3…
Had they shown more ambition, less time wasting, not resorted to nightly fouling and worst of all…. moaned, moaned and moaned even more at every decision the ref made…. it was so infuriating to see Dyche in full MOAN MODE.
My biggest gripe about him was to see him ignore and turn away from his goalscorer Barnes on his substitution… without so much as a word, handshake or thank you….. now Nuno…. complete the opposite… a man manager that knows the art of connecting with players.
So no Dicky… you got what you deserved.
And onto Nick Pope… from the 15 minute he was time wasting… so much so that ‘taking the piss out of Pawson (ref) just became affable…. talking of whom Mr Pawson …. when the ball deflects off a defender and goes beyond the dead ball line… it’s a fe@@ing corner….. so pop into Specsavers ASAP.
As for us…. I thought we were very leggy from the off and despite denials all of these games we’re having does have an impact on players physicality…. 30 degC temperature doesn’t help either… so despite a magnificent Patricio stop with his feet, some 6/10 performances from some … I’m well happy with a point… all things considered.
I’ve heard from a reliable source … that Fosun are targeting Europa cup glory as a way to access the Champions league…. whoop whoop….
Being an instant hypocrite from my last post, there was not much to be positive about in that game.
Let’s hope Nuno was thinking more about Torino in the lead up to that game and collectively erase that one from the memory bank.
It’s all drama at the moment, but please no more for Thursday.
Don’t have the sources you have my Lord of Twix but just watching have begun to think that The Europa is the priority. And why not? Mourinho’s Man U had the same policy and it worked!
A helter skelter of a game, end to end stuff. Burnley were unrecognisable from last season, yes it was long ball football from them but it was so different from their defensive attitude they adopted last year. They had pace up front and a decent midfield which caused us all sorts of problems. Let’s not forget that in past Wolves also played the long ball, nowt wrong with it especially when it is effective, though not pretty to watch. Burnley effectively targeted Ryan Bennett and it worked for them.
Lack lustre performance from Wolves but we have had games like this in the past and lost so to get such a late goal was sweet.
The saving grace for our boys is that, if they get through Thursday, which I think they will. (Torino’s left back was left out of the squad last night because Roma are interested in him).
The next set of games are 3 weeks and then 2 weeks apart in the group stages, if we play our younger boys in the EFL cup then energy management should be a lot easier for the backroom boys.
Three things I learned from yesterday.
1. Ryan Bennett, as great a team player as he has been, is now a liability at this level and opponents seem to be targeting him as the weakness in our defence. I’m not convinced by Vallejo, maybe in time he will convince me but if so I see him more as a Coady player than a Boly. I therefore think we need to buy a quality centre back in January, big, strong, quick – another Willy Boly really.
2. For two years we’ve been told that MGW has great potential. I’m sure he has but when will that translate into a player good enough to play in this Wolves team? At the moment he is not at the same level as those around him. When he starts he is a weak link. When he comes on he adds little. I really think he needs a loan spell at a lower level where he can play every week to increase his confidence. For me we still need a more established attacking central midfielder in January.
3. When we play the better teams Doherty and Jonny are near perfect as our wing backs. Solid, reliable team players. However when we play the lesser teams, like Burnley, especially if we persist with a central midfield of Neves, Moutinho and Dendoncker none of whom are an attacking threat – apart from the odd Neves long range screamer – I think Traore and Vinagre must play due to their attacking threat and their pace.

Could not agree more with all three of these points.
I largely agree with your comments. However, I think the strong criticism of Bennett is somewhat overdone.
It is certainly the case, that his last couple of games have been sub par, but he should not be judged on these in isolation. If you look at his performances over the past season he has been a very reliable, integral cog in a well drilled defensive unit. You will recall the period mid season when Saiss was tried at center back and then very quickly discarded because of error prone performances. The recall of Bennett coincided with a great run in which very few goals were conceded. Bennett may not be a world beater, but he is usually very solid and an excellent partner for Boly. Let`s not react too quickly.
Conversely, I believe that you have been too lenient with your assessment of MGW. My take is that he is a very long way away from being a Premiership player, and at present is in fact a liability for the team. I believe that the potential most onlookers ascribe to MGW is overstated. I hope I am wrong, but surely for now he needs time to learn his trade in a lower division.
Mike – thanks for the reply and cogent points made. With Bennett I am not judging him on the past two games alone as I thought he would be upgraded Summer 2018 and was surprised he kept his place. Though he had several excellent games last season he was also culpable multiple times for goals we conceded and his use of the ball was not of the same level as Coady or Boly. On the basis that we need to evolve and improve in order to progress to the heights Fosun aspire Bennett was the obvious one to be replaced. I believe we tried to replace him but failed with our targets and signed Vallejo as a temporary stopgap.

It’s all been very well analysed above – disappointing yes but for a poor VAR decision at Leicester we would be in 4th position in the PL and one of only 3 teams undefeated. Plus a great start in the Europa League, let’s keep it in perspective- a couple of years ago we would have lost to both Man U and Burnley from those positions. Def can’t cope with a big, bullying CF though and I would excuse Benno from too much criticism in view of the Docs slow return to fitness. Too early to turn on em.
The VAR decision at Leicester was correct. There was a check performed to see if there was any reason to deny a goal and that check found that there had been a handball. There was no question of whether it was deliberate or not because that decision is not longer a part of the handball law.
It’s the new interpretation of the handball law which you should be complaining about I think, not the use of VAR.
I didn’t make the journey up to Wolverhampton for this and watched it on hesgoal.com…..which was fine except the link from Thailand ended at 90 minutes. And so, on to the Wolves audio commentary.
I did wonder if Wolves were going to be a little lethargic; and so they were. Burnley had obviously benefited from a week’s break from football and, to be fair, played some good football (in between the time wasting). We got out of jail, and I’m happy with that.
Hopefully catch up with a few of you on Thursday.
Burnley have had many years break from football!!!
They signed Ward, ffs!!!
Ah, Mick’s love child – or, perish the thought, Moxey’s? The way I remember him is that he was a trier.
Burnley were well organized in a 4-4-2, but nothing special. Quite why we didn’t start with pace out wide I do not know – see Cardiff(H) last season for how effective it is against such teams. And I didn’t understand why Neto and Traore both played on the right when they came on – surely we should have been looking for width on both sides? Ultimately a point gained but barely merited – let’s just hope this doesn’t mean a repeat of last season’s struggles against the ‘lesser lights’.
Morgan Gibbs White had a great game bloody hot wasn’t it.
The game was so bad, I was actually feeling ripped-off – and I was streaming for free.
I think Gibbs-White is not ready for the Premier League. Not sure what he needs but I didn’t really get the impression he was doing much. Maybe a nice pass here and there but that is not enough for a start.
With Cutrone, I get the feeling he is a “put in a shift” type guy as of now and still has to learn the Wolves way before he gets a start. He has a lot of talent but I think he is like Traore, who needs some refining before getting more than a few minutes at the end of the game.
Still, we got a point and that may be crucial at the end of the season in deciding if we finish 4th or 5th.
Nice post Tim. Spot on imo. Let’s hope an improvement is seen on Thursday.
I disagree that we would do the same re the time wasting. Teams tend to be built in the image of their manager. Hence we tend to be a classy bunch of players. I’ve never seen us be so blatant, especially so early in the game. Any team managed by Sean Dyche is going to be horrible and this was the worst case of time wasting and gamesmanship I’ve seen in a long time. On the balance of play Burnley deserved to win. However, they ultimately got what they really deserved for their contribution to the 90 minutes (or 40 odd the ball was actually in play).
Reading some of the comments on here, you’d think that we were playing Stoke of yesteryear. Trying to be unblinkered, I thought Burnley had an excellent game plan playing long balls down the channels which is different from hoofing it (even Wily looked uncomfortable) and it wasn’t as if they clogged us . Until Traore came on it was us who were one dimensional and predictable. I don’t think that the opposition should be blamed for our failures. This is precisely how we came unstuck against so many lesser teams last season but undoubtedly the coaching team will sort matters out. We did of course ultimately fight fire with fire with our two most dangerous attacks emanating from Bennett’s long throws.
Well said Sea Pigeon.
With reference to your comment that – “This is precisely how we came unstuck against so many lesser teams last season but undoubtedly the coaching team will sort matters out”
– I agree entirely with the first half of the comment. I’d also really like to agree with the second half, but seeing as how the coaching staff didn’t sort it out last season I’m not convinced it will be any different in this one either.
Lovely photo to open this post.
I’m certain that Raul having just scored against Pope is just letting him know what he thinks of his persistent unpunished time wasting that certainly cost them 2 points.

In effect then, Stu, his time wasting was punished and in the best way.
Unbeaten after a tough start to the season , close to Europa group stage and some exciting talent coming through ( and possibly more additions in jan if needed)
I never feel like we are beaten these days, yes we start a little slow, but I think that’s nunos way of managing the game, we do finish strong though and our late goals are proof of that
Can’t wait for Thursday
These are the days my friends, don’t let the odd bad performance get ya down
Utmw
The thing is, if you start wasting time after an early goal and then you end up down by a goal near the end of a game, wouldn’t you lament the fact that you wasted so much time earlier in the game?
You would. And the ref shouldn’t add on time for time-wasting by the team that suddenly found itself losing.
Also, if the leading team makes a substitution, time added should be double the time the substitution actually took. This would encourage them to get their finger out.
Yesterday. Ok. Not brilliant by any means. In fact mediocre will sum it up. BUT we had enough of those last season and dae turn out too bad. Very happy to take a point the way it was going. In the premier league the first goal is key. When a team like Burnley (and no disrespect to them) get a nose in front it is always going to be difficult. Check out Spurs v Newcastle. It’s football. Shit happens. Get over it. Makes me loff when you get the hysterical reaction we have. Had the dissalowed goal at Leicester been rightly given we would be sitting 4th. Some folks need to get Jack Leaches glasses on. He could see through all the fuckin verbal shite he got as well. Fuckin Wolves ay we.
Plumbers do
Plumbing
Burnley do Burnleying
They are the new Stoke without the boring long throws and nasty tackling
With hindsight we should have seen how they played vs Gunners and expected the same
Vinagre and Traore would have perhaps been better starters to throw them off balance
Meantime all’s well that ends well and it was fun to see the pace and energy of Neto
We need early goal on Thursday … just sayin
Let’s be undefeated by this time next week then use the rest to good effect
UTW
Disappointing performance. Perhaps we’ll have to get used to it if we progress in the Europa. If this sort of afternoon were to become the norm then I think we’d be entitled to question the wisdom of not adding more bodies to the squad.
Let’s worry about that if the time comes though. This wasn’t a bad result in the context of the game – we were dog awful and still didn’t lose. That at least shows character.
Can’t help but think we’d have fared better with Dendoncker and Traore on from the start. Perplexed by the omission of Cutrone also. But what do I know? Nuno is a more astute tactician than any of us bloggers could ever hope to be.
On to the big one on Thursday night.
I think I am a more astute tactician than Nuno but I’m sure that I’m the only one who thinks that.
I think there are a couple or more signings from the summer who may come up in the next few weeks or months. There is the guy who came with Neto who is on the first team but not played yet (Jordao). There’s a German attacking midfielder who might be able to play, too (Shabani). He has quite the scoring record at lower levels of play and has the offensive mindset that not everyone is born with.
Nuno said he was going to use the U23s as backup but didn’t mention that they were going to stack the U23s with talent.
Not sure if U23s are considered youth development and therefore exempt from FFP but if they are, another way to get around the rules.
First time I agree with you, Dim
You ARE the only one who thinks that.
But I also feel that “think” and “Tim” in the same sentence is a stretch too far.
So you agree with me but can’t resist calling me name?
By the way Tim. That comment above is not from me. It’s from an imposter. Possibly based in Texas.
OK, thanks for the clarification.
It’s Twixfixmas!!!!!!!!
A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE OLDEST FART ON THE BLOG!!
Many Happy Wotsits to Mike Oldfield, better known as our own Lord Twixfix of Stafford.
91 today.
Have a wonderful day, old pal, talk atcha again soon.
Love from Texas.
Cor, you kept that quiet Twix. Have a great day buddy.
Aawww thanks Steve… when you back in town mate…. or you still on a Brexit tour…..
Still touring while I still can, Mike. Home mid-October.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get match tickets then, as I’ll be lagging behind on the ole loyalty points.
I will let you know the games I cant get to Steve, so you can use my ticket if needed.
Happy birthday Mike, and many more of them.
Hope you had a nice sausage sandwich for brekkie!!!
Cheers Ken …. Sausage-gate still does not want to go away…..
That sausage was very nice btw… I was just helping the man out…. and Weatherspoons with the waste….
Hey Mike, how’s it going?
We’ve got it marked on the calendar as being a special day today.
Can’t think why, but I think it involves a popular chocolate, biscuit and toffee bar.
Something about a ‘Bathday’ is it?
I knew I should have written it in indelible pen.
If I remember, I’ll let you know.
Got it!!!
Happy birthday mate!
Lots of love from me and Sue. I hope you are fit and well as you enter your ninth decade.
Cheers Mark and Sue…. just off to raise my glass (or three) with Lady Twix over a stonking hot curry….
Vindalooo… vindalooo….
Great friends..
Merry Twixmass buddy, just picked this up even though Lilian told us on Sunday, dementia setting in methinks.
Any way Happy Birthday Mike, don’t look a day older than you did Sunday.
Xxx
Cheers Stuey and Jen…. friends for life…..
I’ve always had a lot of respect for Sean Dyche, doing a good job under difficult circumstances, but he’s lost a lot of credibility with his latest quote on the ‘perceived’ time wasting against us:-
“I think it is one of them, every fan has a view of it,” said the Burnley boss.
“We have had the clock on keepers playing out from the back who take a long time to make a decision on who they are going to play to. We have looked at our keeper taking time to make sure he kicks the right kick if we are going longer. (The difference) is marginal.
“I wouldn’t expect fans to know that by the way but fans will have an opinion on these things but there was nothing in it I didn’t think.
“I thought we got on with the game appropriately and accordingly .”
Well, bollox to that!
He’s starting to sound a bit like Colin W***er from Cardiff.
It was obvious, it’s done, they got away with it and good luck to them – why not just admit it, or better still say nothing?
He’s just ended up sounding a bit of a plonker.
Have to feel sorry for Bury.
Not for the owners, or non owners, but for the fans.
A club that has never done much but been around for well over 100 years, and has, I’m sure, it’s hardcore, never say die fan base.
If the Premier League, with all it’s obscene tv revenue, and the vastly overpaid and even more over rated prima donnas in the Prem would donate a smidgin of their revenue to help the lesser clubs such as Bury then maybe they wouldn’t be where they are.
What happened to all the trickle down money?
In who’s pocket does it reside?
I would not be surprised if moxey or morgan were involved somehow!
I feel your pain, Bury fans, and probably Bolton too, there but for the grace of dog were we, a few decades ago.
Hope things do turn around for you.
Keep your spirits high, at least you aint Burnley fans!
Imagine having to watch that dross every week.
Agreed mate.
All Bury and Bolton fans have my deepest sympathy.
‘There but for the Grace of God’…
One of the biggest problems is that the ‘Right and proper’ conditions for potential owners are absolute pants!
I think they have to answer just three questions:-
1) Have you murdered your mother-in-law?
2) Have you kicked the cat recently?
3) Do you have less than a quid in loose change rattling around in your pockets?
If they can answer no to all three they can go ahead and buy some unfortunate football club.
I think that we were VERY lucky.
I don’t think that Jeff Shi ever kicked his ma-in-law in his life, although I haven’t seen Cheesie’s neighbour’s cat around recently.
My guess is Clive, that they’d love to be able to watch that dross every week.
It’s hard to imagine their sense of loss. You can’t just switch to supporting a different team.
Well said Clive! I do feel for all Bury fans, they’ve got hopes up only to have everything dashed completely. Bolton fans still going through it.
My heart goes out to every one of them.
Hear hear Houston, we support local teams not team 200 miles away, and there in lies the problem.
What a bitter pill to swallow for those Bury/Bolton fans, break away the banter and underneath we are all die hard football fans.
I hear that Dean Saunders has been sent to jail for ten weeks for refusing to take a roadside breath test when stopped for suspected drink driving.
Apparently his voice was slurred, he made no sense and he had difficulty standing up when the cops pulled him over.
Any comments on similarities about this incident and the time that he was Wolves manager that I could have made, I will leave to the imagination of you readers.
FFS Doog don’t make this common knowledge or his lawyer will get him off on diminished responsibility.
He’s barking.
I think He’s now trying to hook up with Mr Loophole… the lawyer who Beckham used to get off his traffic offence….. they must all think they’re above the law.
Well I’m made up as the judge branded him (Saunders )….. arrogant and unrepentant… and stated that he should , as a public figure… have set a better example…
I’m noticing too that his lawyer is trying his hardest to overturn or reduce the sentence..
If it fails they should double it….. I’m in buckets of tears over this …. NOT…. lol
At least he can say there has never been any proof he was drunk. What would he have been sentenced to if there was proof that he blew over .08 or double that? (what is the limit in the UK?)
He can make it about citzen’s rights. If Trump can deny the obvious and get away with it, that might just be the approach to take from now on. Just make up some BS story like Harry and Meghan.
RIP Bury TWICE winners of the FA CUP not bad for a club that has never done much.
For their fans I hope NOTLOB manage to escape what happened to Bury
Headline in the Daily Mail
“Carabao Cup heats up with the addition of top-flight clubs Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Wolves and 2018-19 winners Manchester City in the third round.”
Says it all really what a long way we have come.
Heady days ahead, some tasty treats on offer if we beat Torino…
Wolves are more than likely going to be in POT 3 of the Europa League draw if they beat Torino.
Teams Wolves could face in the groups from pot 1:
Porto, Sevilla, Roma, Sporting, CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg, Lazio, Basel, Besiktas, Dynamo Kyiv
Tasty treat for them too, to face the mighty Wolves.
Especially the Italians. We are Uge in Italy.
Reading at home in the League Cup. At least we avoided Bury. Oooops……..
Bad Stilton, bad bad boy!!
Nah. Just mucking about. Fond memories of Gigg Lane. Seem to remember Floyd Street scoring for us and doing his customary backward somersault celebration. I also remember consuming a brilliant meat and potato pie from a shop near the ground. Shame for Bury. Feel sorry for the fans. Losing your football team must be like losing a limb. I am sure they may return one day. Good luck to them.
Floyd doing a backward somersault. Leave it off, he was about 14 stone! Solid centre half for us though.
did you notice that Frank Nouble scored for Colchester last weekend ? A name to conjure with from Wolves past. Seriously though assorted ex Wolves players scored about 10 goals between them in the EFL matches. Good to see them still putting in a shift.
