It was probably optimistic to expect turkey with all the trimmings, but I’d certainly hoped for better than a Yule Log.

Ugly, disjointed and barely palatable would be my summary of Wolves penultimate and worst home performance of 2014.
Danny Batth’s appropriately scruffy leveler might have salvaged the result, but this was a painfully regressive display.
For thirty woeful minutes Sami Hyypia’s struggling Seagulls were made to look like Barcelona and Hove Albion as Wolves stood off and let them ease into a rhythm.
On the rare occasion that the home side could get a foot on the ball, it was swiftly followed by a long old hoof down the channel.
Gone was the neat and intelligent passing game that elevated Wolves all the way from League One to (briefly) the summit of the Championship table, replaced by a sub-standard brand of kick and rush.
Of course Kenny Jackett is correct that his side must adapt to be successful in a different environment, but that shouldn’t mean throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
I have no problem with changing the shape and personnel, but Wolves have been hugely successful as a possession-based side and regardless of the opposition, those principles should remain – win, draw or lose.
Jack Price’s return was symbolic of that. The bearded maestro is a one man passing machine and his intelligent use of the ball was one of very few plus points in a laboured second half performance.
Even with the advantage of an extra player, Wolves struggled to force the issue with anything like the speed and intensity we saw from Bournemouth two weeks back.
Only the men from Mali looked capable of kicking down the door.
Sako was always the focal point, flitting between the sublime and immensely frustrating but always moving forward.
Dicko did more in 45 minutes than Danny Graham has mustered in a month. Regardless of whether the phantom penalty was or wasn’t, he offers hope of a return to former glories.
How on earth the team will cope with their absence in January is anyone’s guess.
In the meantime, there’s a festive double header to contest against two sides currently occupying top six positions.
Playing to their maximum and their strengths (as a passing side), there’s hope of a sweet ending to the year for Wolves.
But if they serve up anything yesterday’s meager offering, they’ll more likely be eaten for dinner.

Disappointing, disappointing, disappointing.
I’ve watched the Dicko ‘penalty’ many times and it’s clear that the goalkeeper misses the ball and impedes Dicko. I think the fact that Nuoah went over him like Tom Daley didn’t help our cause.
Having said that, if we can’t beat a team like Brighton, we are in for a long old season.
We had around 20 shots at goal and scored just once.
I don’t know if anyone else has worked out what we’re lacking, but it starts with ‘S’ and ends with ‘R’ and the middle bit spells a word that means a three wheeled vehicle.
Roll on the January window.
Oh! Yes! I nearly forgot.
Happy Christmas to all my fellow bloggers – at least we’ve got each other’s shoulders to cry on.
As each minute passed yesterday without Price making a single error just highlighted what a baffling decision it has been by Jackett to omit him so far this season and instead we have had the Edless chicken expending twice the energy for half of the end product.
There are three things most likely to cause grief for Wolves fans – the festive season; a team looking to end a woeful run; and when the bloggers are sure that a corner has been turned. Here’s to some real beef at Xmas, not a turkey!
Looking at the coming fixtures combined with the absentees for the African nations cup this seasons ‘campaign’ could soon seem to be over. A tricky time for KJ.
I really don’t understand what everyone has against Yule Logs. They’re like massive Swiss Rolls, and who doesn’t like Swiss Rolls?
If you’d said Brussel Sprouts I’d have been right behind you mate. They’re like concentrated cabbage, horrible little things, no matter how much bacon and walnut you put in there.
But Yule Log? Not for me. That chocolatey treat has every right to be up there with the best Christmas traditions.
Oh yeah, and there was some football on this weekend wasn’t there? At least we didn’t lose…
Apologies for lowering the tone mate, but the intention was for Yule Log to be read as a metaphor for shit (due to visual similarities).
Surely I’m not the only one who makes a Yule Log gag every Christmas? Where’s Clive when I need him?
Nothing personal against the Log Sleach. Nobody enjoys it’s chocolatey goodness more than I, believe me.
I’ve never made a Yule log gag but a Yule log has made me gag on more than one occasion.
I thought it was quite funny Thomas (and getting funnier). All to apt aswell.
I agree, especially if you had an Xmas Vindaloo the night before!!!
Now I’m really confused. What do Yule Logs have to do with the a****n.
It’s okay Thomas, no need to explain, I thought it was funny – must just be Sleachy!!
A yule log is supposed to last all Christmas,( keeping every body warm) after Saturdays performance it left me feeling cold and miserable especially with the next two games coming.
The only thing that took the chill off was our shining star DICKO.
How we can plummet from the joys of last year’s record breaking season to this kick and rush shambles is beyond me.
But then, when you have a management that decides that a new (not necessary) £18m stand is a good idea but £3m on a much needed striker (Callum Wilson) is unaffordable, I suppose it’s not that hard to understand.
I hear that Bournemouth have plans to expand their 12000 seater stadium next season should Wilson’s goals help propel them to the PL.
Now that’s one way of running a football club.
Yeah….but by the time they decide the investment is worth it and get on with the building, they’ll be on the way down again. Familiar? Early decisions + confidence + the right level of expenditure on players = the way to do it. And there is something to be said for staying in the black. Ask Leeds or Hereford fans.
And there’s a lot to be said for operating in the red, like league titles and European championships. Ask Chelsea, Man U and Man City fans for a start.
I’m not sugesting we have that sort of money to throw about but when a club of our size and support won’t pay £3m for a 21 year old proven goalscorer, then something stinks. Anybody could run a football club in the black if they have no ambitions for the team.
I think you should read the article on Steve Morgan in today’s Independent.http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/comment/redrow-chairman-steve-morgan-rakes-in-3m-as-annual-profits-double-9706794.html
“Redrow chairman Steve Morgan rakes in £3m as annual profits double”
“Steve Morgan was £3 million richer today after the housebuilder he founded four decades ago produced a record set of results and doubled the dividend.
Redrow unveiled a 91 per cent jump in full-year pre-tax profit to £132.6 million for the year to June as the group expanded its London business and took advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme to help buyers get on the ladder.
Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Morgan has just under 150 million shares in Redrow, so today’s final dividend is worth nearly £3 million to him.
Morgan, who founded the group in Flintshire in 1974, left the firm in 2000 and returned in 2009. He bought Wolves in 2007 and his personal wealth is estimated at £650 million.”
That’s how big a deal £3m is to Steve Morgan, a dividend on one of his investments.
Morgan’s personal wealth has soared during his tenureship at Wolves and still we have to settle for free transfers and dodgy loan signings.
Personally, I think all Wolves fans deserve a danmned sight better.
I must say I do find it hard to know which side of the fence to come down on in this issue – not for the first time, rather like the guy in the pub in the Fast Show! On the stadium issue, it’s hard to see how Bournemouth could survive in the PL with a 12000 capacity and I think most PL clubs would say that their stadia could do with being bigger. Timing the expansion is a bit of nightmare, though and to that extent I don’t criticise Morgan for the expansion of Molineux.
Of course, we could probably have had both – expansion and survival, and that’s where your position on team investment is well argued and pretty convincing. The problem is that football as a whole operates in a dubious and probably ultimately unsustainable manner, moving further and further into the corporate grasp and away from the grass roots. I guess that, to survive and prosper in that context, a club has to take substantial financial risks. If only we had the German model of ownership. But we haven’t, and the FA and culture of this country will never change the survival of the fittest/fattest approach.
So, a tad reluctantly, I’m falling over to your side of the fence! And I note that my post has 0 likes and yours has 8!! But I hope we never become as soulless as Man City, Chelsea and some others now appear to be. I imagine European competition would help me get over that, though!
And you scored another ‘like’ even as I was writing!
Hang on Peakwolf, you’ve put your case so eloquently, I might be on your side of the fence now!
I better get me coat.
I’m absolutely with you on the ‘soullessness’ of the modern game. I find the transfer fees and, in particular the wages, disgusting quite frankly. Oh for the days of the £100 maximum wage!
The trouble is that’s how it is and if Morgan really wants to own an established premiership team, he’s got to spend premiership money.
The club’s solvent, Morgan’s a very rich man, the whole club was on a high and yet they spent peanuts in the close season.
I hope I’m wrong but I’m expecting more of the same in January.
Great post. The reason his net worth is 650m is because he runs all of his businesses to make money. There is nothing wrong with that but if you think he is going to start bankrolling us to get us into the pl, forget it. He will not invest on a “speculate to accumulate” basis. Unless we do get some great kids coming through at the same time to get us up a la MUFC’s golden era, I fear we will be treading water in the championship for many years to come. There is more chance of seeing elvis or the pope down the molineux than a multi million pound striker acquired by Morgan .
I think one day, when he’s finished building the infrastructure, he’ll sell and make a big profit, irrespective of how well the team’s doing….club with huge potential etc.
Let’s face it, he only needs a tenner to break even.
Playing shite and climbing up the table, we should be overjoyed!
Totally agree Thomas about keeping the style of possession football, but the sight of Mick McCarthy doing well again with Ipswich does make you have nagging doubts.
I think (enviously) of Swansea City; is it too much to expect us to play like they have done over the last few years and achieve success?
On a nerdy note, have we ever played four home games in a row before, against teams beginning with the same letter? Yet another history making season for The Wolves I think!
Steve,
I know what you mean about Mick, but Bournemouth play neat possession football and look where they are!
Morgan just needs to fund a decent trio of signings to make a difference.
UTW!
Thanks for all the hard work Thomas over the first half of the season .. always good to read ..
I’ve noted too that the DOOGooder has posted first on the last 3 or 4 blogs .. has he been HACKING away at your desktop Thommo?
I was a tad disappointed about Sat but I wouldn’t underestimate a bogey team. They had a game plan which nullified ours unfortunately .. still miffed with the ref mind you and the linesman .. amazin how they miss stuff under their noses yet see an alleged simulation 40 metres away.. (Wanker)
As long as we beat Wanky Warburton’s lot on the 28th I’ll be happy.
Finally .. hearty Xmas wishes to all my fellow blogger friends for making the site a pleasure to read … The DOOGooder (and Mrs DG’r), Clive F H, Stuwolf (and his missus), Brompton Wolf, my Good mates SCOOPED, BEN and BIG MARK, the staff at Parkview hotel, Sleachy, Lynx (not heard from for a while) and especially ALAN IRVINE for all the sterling work being done at SANDWELL TOWN FC .. I’ll be looking out to see when we are playing you next season …. FoWB
Merry Twixmas to you too mate. UTW
We do not hack!
It is the fault of the capitalist pigs.
There will be serious consequences if you continue to spread lies like these.
Remember – we know where you live, we have all your computer passwords and we will be watching you carefully whatever you are doing.
So you can stop playing with that for a start and get dressed!
Happy KimJongmass to all my faithful subjects!
Oh bollox … (saying to myself) … what have I got myself into ….
Thomas,
“You’ll log” off before I awake most days, but I agree with your analogy, at present we are shit.
However, it is all not doom and gloom.
Mrs CFH had to work today, giving me a much needed football fix. I sat and watched the North East derby between two absolute shit teams.
I then watched recorded “highlights” of yesterdays match of the day ( with that world renown superstar Robbie Mustow spouting his usual drivel ) and had the joy of watching the real shit give away a two goal lead to lose at QPR.
That was fuckin’ hilarious.
The fare served up, was, by and large, crap.
This augers well for our promotion push after Xmas, and I aint scared of life in the Prem, coz most of the Prem would struggle to survive in the pits of the second division.
If our board had a collective brain cell, they would realize this, buy accordingly, and we could get back to the promised land, and prosper.
Yes, you have guessed it, I mixed up my blog comments with my letter to Santa.
Oh well, I will use the Wolves board logic, and stick with what I got.
Yuleloggin’ off now.
FOwb
I agree that the passing style should not be sacrificed. As Thomss says, the recent games have not had this fluency, but that’s probably because K-Mac in particular had been below his high par. He and others have been caught in posession coming out of defence.
Bringing on Price and Dicko at half-time suggests that KJ is keeping faith with Plan A. I for one don’t wish for more hoof ball, being caught out sometimes can happen in posession football. Let McCarthy’s agricultural sytle stay with the Tractor Boys. I don’t think that KJ will abandon his priciples.
We do need to spend in Jan, but surely everone is now acutely aware of the need for cover for Dicko and Sako?
There are positives, Iorfa and Hause look good. Jack is back providing cover for K-Mac. We had a blip last year and didn’t look back in the New Year. I don’t know where we will finish, but I don’t think that there will be bath water or babies thrown anywhere in a hurry.
Merry Christmas to you all.
Bit fed up it took 40 odd mins to have a worth while shot on target. But it’s 4 points from two games so will take it. Being the anorak I am I think we will need to aim for about 41 points from 24 games for the play offs. This means 13 wins.We are not looking full of goals which could make that target difficult. I have said before that I will take a season of building and consolidation so will remain patient. KJ has credit in the tank so far and deserves a real chance over a reasonable period of time. KJ is no fool and will be well aware of the expectations at WWFC. Can he realise those expectations and will he be given the tools to do the job ? Some of those questions will be answered in January.
Thanks for the blog Thomas and happy Xmas to all…
Those thinking there will be a ‘great striker’, up for grabs in the Jan transfer window, are seriously deluded.
There will not be.
My best mate is a Sunderland fan and it maybe that the hierarchy at each club are similar.
However as a ‘head coach’ I have to say Poyet is much better than Jackett.
I always thought last season Price was one of best players and my first doubts about Jackett came with his comment that Price’s physical stature didn’t suit the championship.
Messi is the same stature as Price, does that mean Messi, wouldn’t make it in the championship? Of course he would…
I’m looking down and hoping we don’t get relegated…
All is not right at the Mol….
Usually those available in Jan are people who are ‘cast offs’….
I’m hoping ‘God’ or ‘Fate’ intervenes for Wolves and will consider another season in the championship an achievement.
Spot on Thomas, disappointing first half, someone sat behind me thought our lot had their Christmas party and were suffering hang overs. Awful up front and in midfield, 42 minutes before Sako had the first decent strike on goal.
Then enters Price, can somebody tell me why he has been on loan and we have had to suffer the non performances of Saville and Rowe. He made us tick more in midfield and just passed the simple balls, no hoofing up the park, simple pass and move, sorry guys Im ranting.
Two tough games coming up and as Thomas as stated, we need to get back to our passing game or we will have Brentford doing the double over us.
Ps we still need a striker
UTW
Welcome back Jack Price, motm in my opinion. Please give him an extended run in the team KJ.
The reason we didn’t utilise the extra man is because we had 4 centre halves playing in defence and overlapping clearly isn’t one of Hause’s main strengths. We needed Sam Rickets on the bench but of course hindsight is a wonderful thing. I would have gone with 3 at the back with the final sub.
Point against a bogey side is acceptable but need to get back to winning ways at home.
Merry Christmas fellow bloggers, here’s hoping for a successful 2015.
First things first A HAPPY XMAS to all my fellow bloggers and hopefully a better NEW YEAR.
In my pediction I said hopefuuly that we could not bugger this one up. How wrong can you get but then that is one of the joys? of supporting our belovd Wolves. They build you up only to kick you in the conjones at the firts attempt. Like many othere I would love to see us back in the prem but this lot would not survive they would get mullered every week. Sorry Clive but we would not get double figues in points over a season with this team We need massive investment to make any impression.
OK moan and gripe over good points Price at last back in team and passing improved. Dicko back and when he gets amtch sharp hopefully goasl will return. Iorfa & Hause offer some hope for the future.
Next two games Watford & Brentford realisticallu how many points. 2 if we are lucky. Promotion or the playoffs bloody well forget it. We would do better looking forward to playing the Shite next season after their relegation and be sure of 6 points.
We need massive investment in the team but will we get it from Greasel & Bob the builder I doubt it.
Rant over once again thanks to Thomas & Ben for their efforts and a merry xmas to you all.
It was shit a Yule log time for me at 3.30pm when I saw the score on Twitter with a WTF..
It had to be Bent with a header slipping the wrong side of Lorfa and spoiling things..
We just can’t do the business at home..(1 win in 6) last win was Middlesborough so why the hell can’t we beat teams like Wigan Birmingham and Brighton FFS? (KJ )
Why is Super Mac playing so indifferently, is he carrying an injury?
The favorite phrase of ‘game of two
Half’s’ applied yet again but I must say the two players who allways put in 110% when in need are typically super Sako and DB who of course scored thankfully…Price played his part too and perhaps wondered why other than himself we have not played our previous passing game..
So my personal master plan to get back in touch has slipped yet again unless we win the nxt two games Watford and Brentford .
I feel the odds are not good..
Happy Xmas all and in particular the Park veiw mob….
Happy Xmas to you to Steve .. from the Twixfix family …
Is your familiy still split this Christmas, mor are you making both bars in the same factory now.
Ooops,
I think I may have the wrong Twix family.
Sorry M
Yer gorra lof ay ya
🙂
I couldn’t get any Twix’ s recently so I got some Lion Bars instead… handed them out to Scooped, Ben and Mark and for that saturday only Scooped dubbed me ………. THE LION (BAR) KING …..cheeky sod!!
Merry Xmas .. I hope the grandkids get you a Twix for your stocking.
Incidently Dicko showed his pedigree against Danny Graham and underlines that ‘almost’ players are just not good enough when it matters in this league….the bottom line is we still need another striker that can put away 2 out of three chances…
Same as under MM`s tenure, on sat we had 2 wingers, they had one or often two extra midfielders so we never had the ball. Surely by now someone at the Mol would know you can`t play the one paced Edwards in a 2 man midfield, our 2 long term weaknesses other teams used to exploit were Ward at left back, then play an extra man in midfield and bypass our two isolated wide men. Sorry KJ you got the tactics wrong as we never had a kick first half.
Credit due to KJ though to bring Price on (well we had thirty five midfielders on the bench after all) and with the right men in midfield we started to play. On another day Sako could have scored a hatrick, and we didn`t lose, so I`d take a point. Just a bit frustrating when we lose 4 points at home in two games to those giants of the English game, Bournemouth and Brighton. If Morgan has a few moments spare from counting his dividends from Redrow, maybe he could explain his aspirations for the rest of this season, we should be better than this. I see that £3m striker now has 12 goals for his seaside team, we`ve got Clarkey mm…………
Well folks i have been released from the underground dungeon you put me in for suggesting we needed to be bought by a mad asian billionaire in order to get real success and after many months of quiet reflection staring at a blank screen i have decided to make a comment on how i see it now. ……………. football … ok … sometimes…manager…..ok …sometimes….upper management….. absolutely superb …. all the time… WHAT! you may well ask……… because as a business man this is exactly the way i would exploit the thousands of faithful loyal customers i have in order to drain as much money as i can from their wallets with the minimum of investment from me … what a complete dream business this is ! while the customers concentrate on what they are paying for i nip around the back and rob them without them really knowing. But every now and again when i think im getting close to being found out all i have to do is something outrageous like say er, run on the pitch and have a rave at the ref, and my people will be be back on my side ho ho ho. Just to make sure i can shrug my shoulders and say it isnt my fault if things go wrong i put a bit of a fall guy up front who i make sure is very very greedy and pay him a very nice christmas bonus when he keeps all the tills ringing… tough job that one so i need someone with skin like a rhino…im pretty sure this would make a superb panto with morgan as the baron and moxey his fat little sidekick…. So a fantastic business and one which WILL be sold when the infrastructure is all built using the clubs money and a nice profit will be had by ……. ( not you )….. the baron and his accountant merry christmas everyone … back to the dungeon…P.S kim jong is looking for an investment i hear the games up in north korea … ho ho ho
Sir Jack, that was top drawers.
I’d have been happier if you’d have blogged as Steve Morgan’s underpants.
I’m not losing sight that Sir Jack saved us from liqiuidation..
For sure he had his faults .. none bigger than appointing Moxey .. BUT I would NEVER KNOCK THAT MAN !!! ….(SIR JACK)
I have been sir jacks underpants for many a year now and mean no disrespect to the great man who even though only invested what he would have paid the government in capital gains tax still at least did save us regardless ,so an understanding of how big business works would help to clear the fog that a lot of true supporters think is an investment made from the heart believe Me its bollocks multi millionaires give no one anything simply open your eyes and you will see . We will be lucky to get a euro millions winner who is a true wolves supporter so until then my friend expect What you are already getting these people are not stupid but your support and mine is still required and faultless we really do deserve better and hopefully will get it Keep the faith
I don’t want to sound rude but some of what you’ve written is bollocks mate.
For a start “big businesses” don’t pay Capital Gains Tax !! They pay Corporation Tax on their profits or asset disposals.
You obviously have little knowledge of Sir Jack and how some trusts and charitable organisations have been the benefactor’ s of his generosity.
I also find it insulting that you suggest I have no idea how big businesses work. …. Well just for your info I was a senior director of a £30 million business … I also have an upper 2nd Honours degree in Engineering.
If Sir Jack was the “Fuck You” type of business man why did he spend many, many millions of his own money to recoup £10 back from Morgan.
It’s the Morgan and Moxeys that fall into the above category.. they’re the ones fleecing us mate.
Sorry for the strong retort mate .. I agree that a lot of business men / multi millionaires are as you describe.. in it for themselves .. including our current owner…. have a good Xmas ..
Agree Twixfix….
Spot on…
Thanks Robin …
oh dear my friend i do not wish to argue about our saviour sir jack but will admit you are correct about ltd companies and corporations paying corporation tax on their asset disposals. BUT dear sir, INDIVIDUALS who dispose of business assets or shares ARE subject to capital gains tax not corporation tax .Then, if they wish the total profit is rolled into another qualifying business of which a football club is one .After that the individual can repay his directors loan to himself over a period of time negating his cgt bill. Im not saying sir jack did any of this but i am saying its highly likely his accountants advised him of a very efficient way of realising his dream without it costing a fortune lucky for wwfc and newcastle fc and west ham united and wigan and more than likely a lot more football clubs. And i left school at 15 without any qualifications worked as a dustbin man for 25 years and even stupid old me knows that merry christmas ho ho ho
Would you care to presume that the same accountants recommended him to sell his asset (Wolves FC) for a tenner then? …. ho ho ho
yes sir i most definately would. simply because he had been repaid his directors loan of millions over his tenure and negated his capital gain so it was time to get rid and let someone else have the grief . but i do agree he didnt have to sell it to morgan for ten quid top marks there and he did make him put 20 mill of his own money in some sort of a ringfenced fund top marks there too , which i very much doubt has been touched or… maybe that was used to build the stand we didnt need or not ..who knows, with that pair running the club anything is possible but i will guarantee morgan sells up at some time in the not too distant future and makes a fortune. Jez moxey was brought in to manage the finances of wwfc to do just that for sir jack and he is doing exactly the same for our beloved mr morgan . And after all if thats where we sit in the footballing world one has to ask is it really so bad ,at least we arent ever going bust under m&ms stewardship, our problems begin when they do decide to bale out so lets hope we attract someone with proper money to waste who wants us for the long term as thats what is needed to take us back to the top of the tree and not someone who wants to own us to make a quick buck….. xmas is over now so happy new ears
.We’ve fleeced you, so Merry Christmas and a Prosperous Redrow New Year.
From the future Lord Moxey of Tipton and Sir Redrow of Liverpoolshire.
Good picture just look at the smug bastards filling their pocket s at our expense ho ho ho
You’re right about these two being smug robbing bastards … not Sir Jack mate..
First of all, may I take this opportunity to thank you all for the brilliant, hilarious contributions throughout this year, Ben & Thomas, this is without doubt an excellent blog and I do look forward to it each week, so a huge thank you to you guys. Also, can I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, we await with anticipation the transfer window as to how “Happy” it will be for us in 2015.
As Thomas said, ” yesterday’s was the worst game this season” after 10 minutes I was ready to start talking to my wife again, (Desperate or what) then it went downhill after that, long hoof balls to nowhere standing off the attacking players and a poor referee again.
A personal ray of sunshine is that I met the secretary of the Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) at the game and got myself onto the group , so any ideas you have that will improve the football experience for these guys and girls would be welcome, so let me know and I will take them to the meetings. And before you say face the wheelchairs away from the pitch, we’ve done that one. But seriously, after talking with the guy I found out that despite what John “the hatchet” Davies was saying, the DSA get Naff all except a lift to take them up the terraces and a free ticket for their carers. The secretary is also on the fans Parliament with Ben, so with voices in both groups we might get something done for the guys and girls.
So, I hope you all get what you want for Christmas, (in John Davies’s case I hope it’s Ebola). My wish is for us to play both halves of each game and SM to fund a descent striker. We shall see.
Out of the darkness cometh light.
🙂
Ouch – wasn’t expecting you to be so hard – wishing someone to get Ebola!!!
Good news about the DSA mate. Good luck – they deserve something better than they have.
Slightly extreme Stu re Ebola comment anybody would think you don’t get on with the bloke..
Happy Xmas ..
I have to mention KJs recent comment folks… ‘we are only 11 points adrift from the top of the league and in a good position for the playoffs’
You have to give it to him..that’s being positive!! (I feel embarrassed for my moaning)
Sorry Steve, bloody spellcheck up the Swanny. Should have read, ” hope he gets Elokobi”
Must try harder
:-(.
Nice recovery – my arse! lol
Russian blood.
Inov the Bar.
🙂
I commented on your rather harsh response (earlier post), to only find Steve did the same lol
Harsh…..
Define Harsh, in terms of Mr Davies
Dear Santa
Please bring me a Triumph Rocket III motorbike and a never ending supply of Yellow Tail and lots more weekends at The Park View so I can chew the fat with my chums and a big lottery win and good health to me, my family and all the Wolves bloggers (even the grumpy pessimistic ones) and please let Mr Scrooge open his wallet so that Tiny Tim can eat and the boys in old gold can give us a happy New Year.
Otherwise it will be:-
“God help us every one!”
If we are quoting “A Christmas Carol”, then “Darkness is Cheap” might be more apt. Are far as M and M are concerned, some of you might ask “are there no prisons, are there no work houses?”. Moxey would qoute “any idiot (editor’s note – that is a 21st centuary Wolves fan) who goes around with ‘Merry Christmas and give us 5 million for a new striker, if you please’ on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding (read Balti pie) and buried with a stake of holly through his heart”.
I wish for a top 6 finish, I like the fact that Bob Cratchit is still optimistic. Well, it is Christmas after all.
Ho Ho, or Bah Humbug, eithe way, my best wishes to you and the sparkling MDGR.
Thanks Jerryd.
And the same to you too mate.
Hope to see you next year at The Park View. We’re up for the Blackpool match on the 17th January. Maybe see you then.
Have a great Christmas.
PS. The PMDG’er isn’t really sparkling, I’ve just covered her with tinsel and fairy lights for the festive season.
Liar – she is sparkling without adornment.
I too am attending the Blackpool game on the 17th Jan. I shall be bringing Bob from Preston, and will plan to be in the watering hole around 1ish. Hopefully we will see you both then.
Until then to you and all other bloggers, have a wonderful Xmas and a prosperous New Year.
Doogooder if you go by KJ we’ll be off wembly way yet..
I see Milan are looking to offload Fernando Torres.
Wonder what he would look like in Old Gold and Black???
A very slow and over the hill thing in old gold and black!
Hey, WTF have I ever done to you. Very slow, over the hill.
Leave me out of this, I’m not moving anywhere. well not easily anyway, Arthritis can be a cruel mistress.
🙂
Blimey, I’m gonna have to get these glasses cleaned, Torres…. I thought it said Tosser.
🙂
Talking of Tosser’s how is Sagbo doing back at Hull Kingston Tigers?
Couldn’t afford his wages Clive … he’s over the £500 per week earnings threshold … besides he could be earning more than Greasel if he was on £50k a week … nah just isn’t going to happen…
Gotta say it but KJs team selections are a tad baffling especially when playing Edwards in midfield roll when he’s got Jack Price on the bench, Edwards hasn’t got the energy or the skill to play in that position even though he’s a willing worker.
Jack Price must stay in the side to give us a better option along with Mc Donald to create the opportunities for our forwards (ie Dicko) to score the goals of which we’re lacking.
With two very hard games coming up we need to get back to where we were a few months ago to stand any chance of staying touch with the play-offs.UTW..
Dear Mr Morgan, Please give the Pie Man some cash to spend for Christmas, or PI$$ off to Scouseland.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all blogger on here.
Dear Mr Morgan,
someblokeontinterweb wrote to you recently. Please ensure the Pie Man is aware that the “cash to spend” is on players, not fekin pies!!
Dear Mr Morgan,
Someblokeontheinterweb and someblokecalledbromptom wrote to you recently. Please ensure the Pie man is aware that the cash is to spend on Feckin GOOD players.
P.s.
Have a word in Kenny’s ear, convince him we don’t really need Danny Graham, Sako won’t pass the ball to him anyway as his name isn’t Nouha.
Anyone else noticed???? Come back ShrewsWolf there is a Conspiracy theory to work on here.
As we travel towards the New Year with our hopes once again built up high by the SM, JM and KJ Spin, I think it is very important that we plant our feet firmly on the ground and don’t get too excited. Every transfer window brings the same old Guff, SM & JM saying there is cash to spend & now Kenny has been quoted last week as saying we must bring in players of quality to cover Sako & Dicko in the ACON’s, today he’s now saying Danny Graham has impressed him and has offered a lots of options in his team over the period he’s been here. Preparing us for a fall ?
Well, forgive me for being a cynic, but Iv’e been to every single game that he’s played in and I did’nt see any signs of a player that would benifit the Wolves team that says it’s pushing for promotion.
I am offering a ditty for us all to think about and will leave you all to fill in the next line, how so Feckin apt it is for a Wolves Fan.
🙂
So always look on the bright side
of death…

Sorry folks who posted earlier on regarding Sir Jack. He didn’t save Wolves from liquidation, it was the humble Wolverhampton council in partnership with developers Gallaghers in 1986 who saved WWFC. Sir Jack didn’t take over until financial stability had been achieved in 1990.By then Graham Turner had already lead us from the depths of div 4 to a decent position in div 2.
And if my memory serves correctly, a certain Mr. Steve Bull helped a little bit, with a goal every now and then.
Dog bless Ron Saunders
Yeah. Steve Bull, Andy Mutch,Nigel Vaughan, Floyd Street, Ally Robertson, Robbie Dennison, Mark Kendall et al. True Wolves heroes that helped drag us back from oblivion in the late 80’s. Two sides of the ground and crowds down to 3000.These blokes really did put the pride back into the shirt. By April/May of 1987 crowds were back up to 22000 in half a ground as we made the play offs on the back of an incredible run of victories. I will never forget Autumn 1989 when we played the S**t for the first time in ages at the Poorthorns. Bully arriving at the far post in the 89th minute from a Mutchy cross and hammering home the winner in front of the visiting Wolves fans. I have never seen such mad celebrations as that day. Keith Downing climbing the fence pumping his fists. Wolves through and through (despite his current posting). Those were the days my friend…….
I see that Steve Morgan has been fined £2,500 by the F.A. for his outburst against referee Jones. Oh hell! That’s the whole of the January transfer budget gone already.
Be assured my freind, we will expect a crowd of 25000 for the visit of Brentford, that’s one pence each and Steve has his fine paid by us punters, be sure buying a programme, a beer, a balti chicken pie or a bag of Gary Lineker’s will set us back a subtle price increase of at least one pence.
On the subject of Steve Bull, he saved me also, I had stopped watching football of any kind after the Heysel stadium disaster. I heard from my Nephew about this Babbie being born in Molineuxham, he shepharded me to the matches, I also followed the starto see the son of a God and became a wise man and found the King. He led me back into the promised land.
I was a Paramedic then in Stafford and helped launch the heartstart campaign to fund Heart Defibrillators, I went and saw Graham Turner and he gave me Andy Mutch, Robbie Dennison Ally Robertson, Keith Downing all free of charge for promoting the heartstart, the rest is History, the defibrillators have saved Hundreds of thousands of lives since. 20 years later I took them to Albania and Macedonia for their hospitals, just like the Wolves they keep getting reborn.
Merry Christmas One and all.
