The thick heavy raincloud that soaked us all to the skin at full time was probably the most poignant moment of all.
If only it could wash clean those murky crevices of deception around Molineux then we could at least picture some sunnier afternoons.
To dream an impossible dream.

To close our eyes and drift into a calming world of serenity, where stammering novices can’t be heard, where white elephants can’t be seen, and where the words of an empathetic, modest board float freely.
With our new North Bank seats breaking up before a ball had been kicked, such dreams are as far from reality as we are from Bolton Wanderers.
Rubber stamping our relegation from the Premier League was surely no great shock or sadness for anyone connected with Wolves this afternoon.
That Terry Connor genuinely looked like it was when choking back the tears was probably the scariest sight of the lot – were it not for Steve Morgan pictured laughing and joking as our grim fate was sealed.
Maybe he was chuckling at the vision of 34 rows of seats in the upper North Bank, and the irony that few will ever be sat on, if indeed they are screwed to the ground properly to begin with.
My final crumb of aspiration still battling this mortal coil hopes he’s smiling for more positive reasons.
For a post mortem that will begin on Monday morning, with no brick in his Red Row empire left unturned in a quest to avoid an April Shower like this.
For Guedioura – Forest fans’ best midfielder since Lars Bohenan – to return to Compton with the urgency of a JCB digger.
For Michael Kightly’s contract to be resolved with similar speed.
And maybe, just maybe, for a concession of remorse to make a back page lead instead of an insulting platitude about ‘perspective.’
The sight of the new North Bank seats falling apart was bad enough, as was Tevez winning a free kick for clearly obstructing David Davis in the build-up to City’s second.
But wretched as both were, they didn’t come close to the saddest spectacle of all, as I searched for the shoulder of an old comrade or two.
No spittle to land on Tel’s head in front, no Big Mark to share that look of disgust to the right and no Mike beside me for chocolate comfort.
One-hundred-and-fifty-years-worth of Wolves DNA replaced by wet empty plastic.
A chance for them to dream of brighter days than these? Therein lies the rub Mr Morgan.

Tell me more about these seats? Saw something on twitter.
Hi KWolf. I saw fans holding aloft the backs of their seats in the second half,as they had come loose. The club had to screw a load more in before kick off too, apparently.
At least we can be spared the weekly diatribe of ‘we can still make it’.
Up until today I was prepared to give SM the benefit of the doubt, uptil I saw that git laughing as we were condemned. Now we know just how much it means to that scouse twat.
I feel sorry for TC. he never had a chance and probably never will again. Should never have been appointed or indeed should never have accepted the offer.
Just thought this post didn’t give too much recognition that some players deserved,
De Vries was excellent, he didn’t have any chance with either goal but he kept the score down with good saves to stop stearman and nasri(?)
Davis once again showed us hope for the future with a superb preformance.
And I for one am feeling more positive than ever about the championship, with a solid base to form a more than capable of winning team.
Anyone see steven fletcher’s tweet as well? “We will be back” was a part of it, perhaps the “we” part could indicated he plans to stay with us for next year.
Agree, for what its worth, I thought de vries, henry, Kightly, fletcher, Davis all played really well. My man of the match: bassong. Thought he was excellent. Shame he went off.
Emotional scenes at the game today, fans were magnificent today and a credit to the game.
With the championship season now a reality I just hope that a few of the players can be kept to give us the best chance. While its obvious the likes of Fletcher, Doyle, Jarvis and Stearman will be snapped up by quality premiership sides, it would be useful to get the others wrapped up on long term contracts.
Stearman? I wouldn’t even have in our side for the Championship next year!
I’ll have some of what you’re on!
Why would we want them on long term contracts, when they failed in the prem.
Lets face it our best player’s will be moving on to other prem sides,
and what player is going to take a drop in wages,so all our so called better player’s will be
going.imo.
FOJM,FOTC.
If Stearman is snapped up by a quality premiership side i’ll run around the mander centre stark bollock naked.
I don’t think the mander centre need worry!
We still love the Wolves!
Well done to the loyal wolves. I’m back in Newcastle now! The number of comments says it all!
It’s time for that colonic irrigation! Starting at the TOP.
Funny old game, as they say. Poor Roger Johnson left Birmingham because he did not want to play in the Championship. Be an even funnier game if Birmingham return to the Premiership by winning the play-offs!!
Hopefully they’ll buy him back!
no chance, they’re laughing their heads off that they got rid.. now they got proper defence!
I would let him go on a free, because we a’int gonna get anything for him.
Well what can one say.
Yesterday on this blog we saw the return of the Happy clappers.. With no ambition. Ambition of moving the club forward, with the old “we have enjoyed many a good year in the championship”
Who didn’t think it was Moxey or Morgans Fault. Who were supporters of Mad Mick…
Well enjoy a few more…
With a club who are managerless and have a drunk as the captain, they tell us on the day we are relegated how we are going to walk the championship next season….
Time to give up ???
Now the chairman is laughing at the fact that we are relegated….
Matters not… the houses will still be built at Compton…
Sad sad days at Molineux..
For anyone who dares to think we will walk back into the premier league next season.. Forget it. We are already years behind some of those championship clubs.
While the divisions between the supporters remain with those who are happy with their lot in life. Then Moxey will be happy and the club will never move forward to become an established player at the top table..(Premier League)
Wolverhampton like so many others will have to make do with its 2nd tier (OR lOWER) football club.
I will enjoy my season ticket all the more for knowing I will be watching the games that really matter…
Bring on Sheff Utd and Charlton, the new additions to the championship as we are..
Goodbye to the greatest players and teams and league in the world…
Our Chairman, CEO, and believe it or not some of our supporters believe that is not the place for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club…
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
All well and good finding who to blame but worthless if we don’t learn from the mistakes. We have a great bunch of players, support to die for and hell of a stadium. Just need a manager who can make the spark. We’re all Wolves and always will be.
Agree with you totally .it’s not a totally broken ship .
Many mistakes have been made this season by those
in charge at the top , and below . but we have some decent
players ; Ikeme , De Vries as goalies , Zubar , stearman (perhaps )
-otherwise short at the back , Daivd Davies and Henry , a good holding
pair , O’hara if fit , Milijas if he can get a game , Goudiera ,
and of course Jarvis and Kites . I reckon none of the above
will be sold .
Up front , we’ll be short next next season – that will be the new
managers job to sort out , along with the defence .
Fully expect Fletcher and Doyle to move on – and good luck to
them . Ebanks Blake may prosper better elsewhere , but thanks
for the good times .
All depends on a good manager being appointed , and soon !!
Ps , was in the Billy Wright yesterday so didn’t see the Morgan
smiling bit …..but , let’s give him a little break here , so
were lots of us given the deed had already been done ?
Loved the generally good -however resigned – mood of us all ,
not a happy train for 4 hours home , but I for one will be
back , because I sadly am infected with with the curse that
is Wolves DNA………..
Love or loathe this post , I love you all ….xx
Dont really understand the obsession with the new stand we had close to capacity gates all season and clubs with smaller grounds are never taken that seriously.
On the Morgan smile on camera someone was trying to share a joke with him and to be fair he has looked worried sick for most of the season.I am not overly anxious to defend him but if we drive him out who will the next owner be ?
Couldnt agree more, time to move on and stop this anti Morgan campaign, he has made his mstake why not give him a chance to make amends, better the devi you know, there may be another Bhatti bros around the corner.
Alty Wolves
Alty Wolves you say?!
I live in Altrincham.
Live in Grosvenor Road
reckon he gives a season ticket away with every new house bought!!! shame beetroot cant build a house for moxey on top of a volcanoe somewhere!!
I have got a plan to get rid of ‘the scouse git ‘. All we need is a petition……..and one of us with £600M.
I for one, will not miss this over-hyped pile of shite called the Premiership. That may be down to M Mc or down to the 14 or 15 teams who laughingly think they are quality because they’re in the Premiership.Stoke,Blackburn,Bolton,Sunderland……..and on.What a bloody joke!
I do agree with you, BUT regardless of the standard of the Premiership and treatment of ‘smaller’ clubs like ours – it is better for the long-term safety and progression of Wolves to be there.
Unfortunately money is the king these days, and by not being there we’re losing 90Million.
If i had been asked the question in August “How would I feel if we were relegated this season ?” I would say utter despair, akin to the euphoria felt when we were promoted as champions. Trouble is all I feel is relief its all over without the prospect of losing our status at Wigan on the last day. Lets face it we have been crap all season and got what we deserved. However certain “incidents” will remain with me after this season has passed that probably wouldn’t have made much difference to our points total but may have got us closer to survival.
Such as the penalty against Jarvis turned down against Newcastle. The cross that was adjudged to have gone out of play in the same game. Woodgate not getting a red card against Stoke. Milijas’ red card at Arsenal thanks to Arteta. Tottenham contesting a drop ball on the penalty spot following an injury to Hennessey. Lampard’s studs up lunge against Chelsea.
Bassong’s red card against Arsenal. I am sure there are many more that have escaped my memory but the Premier League, described above as the greatest in the world, is full of the worst cheats you will ever see and referees with their own personal agendas.
Just as well we simply aren’t good enough to be in it then.. Isn’t it !
We can call the other team’s players cheats of course.
If one of our own had done it more often and got us a win or 2 would we complain. ?
Yes Refs are under greater pressure in the Premier league because every desicion they make is under constant scrutiny from a million different Camera angles. They are bound to make mistakes and do.. They need help…
The same happens in the championship, both from the Refs and players, but it goes unnoticed because the stakes are so much lower. As is the standard of football.
I think we should stop making excuses and look closer to home for our complete failure of a season.
Lack of man marking on Robbie Keane as he was able to easily get his 2 shots away.
Lack of Marking in the last minute when Lampard Who was still on the pitch was allowed to run at us and score.
The players just giving up against QPR, Liverpool and the Shit all at home…
I am sure there are many more that have escaped my memory.
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
OK, so cue our very literate friend Danny Velinski with his exhortation that “32 points will be enough to survive because Wigan will go into administration.”
PS. What’s this about the seats breaking up? If it was on the TV feed, I missed it.
There was a beautiful and poignant moment towards the end of the game. As the rain fell in a biblical way washing away the all the sins of the season applause broke out all around the ground.
The sound of four stands clapping.
The seats we had seemed sturdy enough, but the temporary ones are better.
Some idiots from shrewsbury tried to break their seats, but we put a stop to them and got
the tosser’s thrown out.
The truth about the seats.
They wre installed facing the wrong way!!!!!
“Sooner or later, there comes a time in a man’s life, when he has to make a stand.”
John Wayne. (I think).
beats having to watch our demise….maybe the builders(i use that term loosely) could put a rubbish chute under fatwads seat with the south bank holding the operating button…now that must be what morgan was laughing about!!
So it begins. The future of Wolves at the feet of Steve Morgan. The biggest decision of all is right now concerning the next Manager. The correct one will put us back in the EPL possible top 10. the incorrect one will leave us a Championship side ” no thanks” I believe SM will do the right thing because contrary to popular belief I think he does care about Wolves a lot, OK a few mistakes made but if you can learn from that more power to you.
Spend on a top quality proven Manager, the rest will surely fall into place.
To all you guys who dislike the new stand, this is a great stand, lets fill it and help win the Championship next season, you know we can do it
UTW
Completely agree – but if Morgan gets it wrong? I’m anxious as to how he will deal with this – but judging from a recent Moxey interview at least they’re not sticking with Connor!
I just don’t understand how some of you are saying we have a “great bunch of players”. Are you out of your freaking mind? We were by far the worst team in the Premiership. Period! And we were exposed for the frauds we have been for three years! Stearman? Ward? Berra? Edwards? Ebanks-Blake? Zubar? Aren’t these the same donkeys that were playing in the Championship? Do any of you *really* believe we could turn a championship team into an EPL prospering side just like that? Don’t any of you see how much quality the other teams have?
And don’t get me started about TC, and all the “I don’t blame TC” nonsense. He was totally incompetent and unable to do this job, and yet he took it. The very audacity! So now we had a championship team led by someone Totally Clueless. And we could not have predicted this diabolical excuse for a colossal calamity?
I am livid about this situation. I’d better stop here. They have turned this great club into humiliating ridicule. Shame on all of them.
I want a public appology for the mistakes made and a plan to restore some dignity and ambition into this club. No more drama, no more nonsense, just results!
I think that a lot of the players have the potential to do well in the Prem, but, and it’s a big but…UNDER THE RIGHT MANAGEMENT.
It’s clear that Mick coached the creativity out of the team and would only buy ‘grafters.’
TC did nothing particularly different as far as I could see – if he did it didn’t affect fortunes on the pitch.
The names you mentioned I mainly agree aren’t Prem quality, but I think Hennessy, O’Hara, Jarvis, Kightly, Henry, Doyle and Foley are good enough.
Think about the bottom 5 or 6 teams. Are their squads really so much better?
I think that much of the blame this season rests at the feet of the manager/s and ownership. Certain players like Johnson & Hunt have also been disgracefully poor, but any player needs to be managed – even at Barca they won’t tell Messi, “Oh, just do what you want.”
It’s clear to me having seen many of the games this season, that whatever coaching the players WERE having was very negative. We were playing ‘not to lose’ rather than to win, but if you have a crap defence then it’s never going to work – hence, this was the management’s fault.
I only really saw Jarvis attack and I lost count of the number of times the ball was passed back to Wayne only to be hoofed forwards to our … target man … oh, no, we didn’t have one – yet another management mistake.
You are right though – we are now a laughing stock, and who remembers the start of the season when almost every pundit was predicting us to stay up?
agree 100 per cent with you…case in point…yesterday, at one point we were 4 on 3 countering…..could have bet that the ball would be sent back to our goalie….and that is exactly what they did…The team was poor, lacking ideas, no creativity. Mid championship side.
I agree with you about the players you mention. But they were not enough. We needed much more experience, and a stronger squad. We’ve got to aim higher than the bottom 5, or we will be in the situation that put us here in the first place over and over.
I am just mad there is no accountability for the actions that put us here.
Unfortunately the players you mention will be gone come the end of the season, and all we will be left with are the bozos.
The bozo’s that got us automatic promotion first time round? Yes they weren’t good enough for the premier league. But they have improved by being there. Next season with a decent manager (be it a Curbishley or young and hungry manager) we’ll have the bones of a squad that can do well and has the necessary experience. Play offs must be a minimum target.
And then what?
Back in the Prem with the same bozos, only older and slower?
No thanks.
True Clive but you have to be in the premiership first and it will be a tough league to get out of. Selling players who have experience of winning the thing is a daft way to get promoted. In much the same way that Gued, Hammil and Kights looked reborn at that level many of our players will hopefully.
If (and its a huge if with JM in charge!) we get a decent manager and coaching team who can reverse some of the long ball mentality and defensive frailties we’ve developed over the past 5 years whilst keeping the majority of the (pre-Johnson) graft and determination we will do well. I still maintain the squad we have with the right manager and coaching team behind them would have been good enough to stay up in this league.
Agree with you Clive. This lot are damaged goods and need to be shipped out asap. Trouble is McCarthy extended many contractscontracts. As Kevin Doyle stated last week, trying to avoid relegation for three seasons has taken its toll. You can look at Newcastle, Stoke and Albion of examples of how we should have progressed. I think David Edwards typifies our squad. Great energy, box to box, always puts in a shift but Premiership quality ? Ebanks Blake. A player who has under-performed for three seasons and still he gets on the pitch but there are so many more to moan about. New manager, new approach and hopefully good bye to all our tired, stale and complacent squad.
Exactly! Then what? Agree with Clive.
Sheffieldwolf, there is a HUGE gap between doing OK in the championship and just keeping head above water in the EPL. This is fundamentally the lesson we need to learn. I still think that the year we won the Championship we were not as good as the table made us out to be … remember it was a bit of a weird season where neither Reading or Birmingham would win when we didn’t. And even then, only a few of our players delivered.
Point is that for 3 successive seasons we have struggled with those players. Don’t you think there is a message there? Do you really see Richard Stearman as your nucleus for an EPL defence?
I didn’t mean to cause offence by my choice of words (bozos); I’m angry 😉 Perhaps the words “nowhere near good enough for the EPL” would have been a more polite accolade.
I agree! I think we have at least the nucleus of a top Championship side. I also personally believe that Mr. Morgan will invest some money into the squad – my worry is, WHO will be at the helm spending this money?
It’s crap to be relegated, really it is, but I have thought for quite a while that it was in fact needed this season, as it will prove a welcome kick up the arse to moxey and the rest of the ownership/management that they were trying to run the club the wrong way!
What’s the point of having one of the ‘soundest financial records in the Premiership’ only to go and get relegated – their model clearly didn’t make us competitive!
The state of the A*bion also shows how flawed things were, as (I’m sure I read somewhere) they were also one of the best run clubs financially – and look where they are now, wankers.
Well said GoWolves, totally agree of all what you wrote,i to want answers and not spin lets have the truth for a change.
Its got to be more than a sorry to the fans from poxey for me.
Give us all season ticket holder’s a discount and make it cheaper for those who can’t afford one,no disrespect intended.stop doing everything on the cheap and pay some good money
for a good manager.FOJM.FOTC.
Wish I was sitting in front of Morgan when he was smiling…would have asked him what he was smiling about ! He should have been crying for the mess he put our club in ! Now he will enjoy watching the empty new stand….He should not bother screwing on the seats back….they will be empty just the same. Utterly Hopeless, utterly clueless….he messed up big time.
The fat lady has sung and the taxi has arrived…….
Where are you Mr Moxey ?
The fat lady is actually Moxey in drag
Racking my brain to think of a way to wipe that smile off the scouse idiots face, answers on a postcard.
Excellent Ben .. says a lot to see Morgan laughing his bollocks off with a few minutes to go and relegation a certainty .. (Not there was any doubt). He’s gone down big time in my view over that. Perhaps he was laughing at the Wonga profit from his Compton empire. I didn’t see Moxey there tho, my biggest hope is that he’s been put on gardening leave and will piss off after the Wigan game .. can but dream .. cheers Ben
The fat lady and Roy Orbison are singing loudly.
In the his programme notes yesterday Moxey blamed the sendings off of Milijas and Bassong for our dismal season. No hint of contrition or culpability, is he in total denial or just take us for the bunch of mugs we probably are? The board put TC in an impossible position, offering him the job as a last resort, and he would accepted the role as a matter of duty to a club for which he clearly has a great deal of affection. Unfortunately he was always going to lack the experience needed at such a critical time in the club’s history and the failure to bring in a good number two to help him clearly contributed to our demise. Again Morgan and Moxey should look at themselves for this failure, but probably won’t. Whatever the future holds for TC, I, for one, wish him well.
Hopefully we can now move onwards and upwards with the immediate appointment of a new style of manager who won’t just want players who will ‘put in a shift’ but provide the type of energy and skill levels we have seen from Swansea and Norwich this season. This is not a Curbishley or Bruce retread but a Lee Clark or Chris Powell with new ideas. A director of football who understands the game is also a must (but won’t happen).
The wheels have come off and need to be put back on quickly. The sight of the seats in the north bank (shortly to be named ‘the Redrow Stan Cullis Stand’ I understand!!!!!) was an apt epilogue to the season. The crash of 2012 was complete.
Woody,
“Redrow Stan Cullis”
Is this a joke ?
Stan Cullis was manager when I first went to Molineux (1960).
A respected Wolves manager for 15 or 16 years, I think.
Redrow, a house brand, should not be mentioned in the same breath as “Stan Cullis”.
If Mr Morgan wishes to build a name for himself in Wolves folklore then top of the list should be ridding, in the next few weeks, the club of the mercenary Mr Moxey.
Beautifully written as usual Ben and you’ve said itall really. We just have to wait and see what happens now.
Playing well when it’s far too late and when some are just hoping to stay in the Prem doesn’t mean much to me. Having said that, i thought De Vries showed a mobility and athleticism which, for all his strengths, Hennessy doesn’t have. Be happy to have him in goal next year.
Redrow Stan Cullis?????????????????
I would just like to point out to all the happy clappers who are looking forward to life in the Championship to think back three years.
We had an amazing run of 12 games without a win, and stayed on top of the table by the skin of our teeth, and by other teams around us not taking advantage of our frailties.
We are going back to the Championship with most of the same players, some of whom were not good enough then, and 3 years on, are definitely not good enough now!
Everyone is predicting a sale of our better players ( which will not take long) which will leave us with the dross nobody else wants.
Lets get rid of all of those we cannot sell, pay off their contracts and kick them out the door, and start with a completely clean slate, management as well.
This would go a long way to restoring some faith in the owner, and we would have a lot more confidence for next season.
The Championship will NOT be a cakewalk.
I think back three years and remember some remarkable games – we crashed and burned this season – it has been fucking awful, frankly – but these Championship players are the same ones who got wins against the likes of Man Utd, Man City… just about all the big teams except Arsenal!
I agree that there was not enough squad development and I agree that the Championship was no walk in the park but it has not been three years of complete abject misery – just this one after the first three games!
Steve Morgan was laughing when the Wolves fans were chanting about playing Barnsley next season. He needs to come out & tell us what he plans for next season & apologize for what happened 10 games ago. I have been a Wolves fan for almost 30 years with both good times & bad but that was the lowest point in my life when they messed up the appointment of a new manager. I like the idea of Paul Ince being the manager & Ray Wilkins being his number two.
Me too, but don’t think it will happen, thats to hard for them to comprehend.FOJM,FOTC.
I am a Newcastle fan and this is a genuine statement and in no way am i trying to be clever.
I can imagine how you are feeling right now but look at what we have achieved since the relegation three years ago, we have only been back up two seasons and we are in Europe and have not spent a lot of money- Wolves can do exactly the same.
Wolves are a huge club and most geordies will admit we like Mick Mcarthy even if he was ex mackem manager and maybe your board were a bit quick in letting Mick go, he would be the one manager i would want to bring my club back up.
All the best for the future, bring Steve Bull back out of retirement, he always scored against us !
Steve Bull always scored against everyone!!
You can get away with a lot of weak links in your side if you have a top class striker who can tuck goals away like he could – Wolves have never had that luxury since he hung his boots up.
All you accusing TC of being useless and not having clue are way off the mark. He’s a thoroughly decent guy who was handed a poisoned chalice – take over the team in an impossible situation or almost certainly lose your job. Given the same choice, I know what I would have done! He’s done his best for Wolves over many years and my heart goes out to him. He couldn’t change the team but at least he got them playing with a bit of spirit. It wasn’t his fault that the owner and his evil henchman couldn’t run a piss up in a Banks’ Brewery!
Having said that, the sooner they get Ollie G S in as manager the sooner we can start being proud again of a once great club.
I must be a bit slow today.Who’s Ollie GS?
Hi Martin. Sorry about taxing the brain so early: I meant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (it’s just that I have difficulty spelling it in full).
Sir Alex himself has been quoted as saying that he rates him so highly that he could one day take over at Man U. Whether you think that’s a good recommendation is subjective, but it will do for me.
Thanks tDG( i bet you got that one). If he’s that good, get him quick. Early days though.
I agree with Nige’s comment.
\
Sorry but TC, almost in tears, on TV last night was a joke.
His ego was hurt, he knows he failed, on your bike.
No sympathy.
If he had cared about Wolves, had any integrity or honour, he’d have resigned when MM was sacked and taken some responsibility for the mess we were in.
Morgan laughing? –
He must have known, when he gave them all a piece of his mind in the dressing room, we were doomed and that was months ago.
Why should he be miserable?
He gambled on another season where we would escape and he lost.
As a businessman I am sure his ‘books’ are ‘balanced’.
With regards the remainder of the season, the results mean nothing so I would like to hear something from our chairman, as to what he intends doing, to stop us sinking into mid table championship banality?
I am gonna have to call bullshit on the TC comment I’m afraid – think of how long he’s been at this club, think of how long he’s known the players, do you really think his failure to keep Wolves up is just down to ‘ego?’ Like someone else had said he wasn’t going to refuse the chance offered him to the two M’s when they didn’t have a back-up plan to Curbishley – in fact, if he’d been thinking about his ego then then he wouldn’t have dared take over a club likely to be relegated!
As for Morgan – he’s losing money, he’d care about Wolves’ relegation! Hell, I was smiling too when I heard the ‘Que Sera’ chants – am I not a Wolves fan because of that? There’s a huge amount of debate around Moxey and Morgan but I believe that they care. They fucked up this season, and now they need to get it right next season
*Do you really think he was holding back tears because of his ‘ego?’
Come on Hamlet,He’s been half the problem for many years,he’s a bit like you a dinosaur the game’s moved on so should he.FOJM,FOTC.
Hamlet, think about it….
TC was at least as much the problem as MM.
Before the board even looked for a manager after sacking MM, TC should have resigned if he had any ‘dignity’.
If he had cared about the club, he would have forced the ‘Board’ s hand by his resignation.
He cared about his ‘ego’.
Results speak for themselves and after MM went anyone, myself included, could have only got 2 less points, than our supposed ‘saviour TC’.
Sorry no sympathy for the man….
Robin,
TC should have gone when Mad Mick did… He should have been sacked too. He’s the assistant Manager for Christ’s sake. He was behind half if not more of what Mick did.
It wasn’t until The 2 idiots interviewed Curbishley and he told them what’s needed to establish a club in the Premier league that they suddenly realised what a balls up they had made. They couldn’t commit to that, it means spending too much money on the field instead of off it, where investment in bricks and morter will in future reap dividends
Morgan wont be unhappy that the the club is relegated, he won’t lose money. He only brought it for a tenner remember. Its impossible for him to lose.
He has already increased the future sale value of the club by the new stand, the houses at Compton and the new training ground.
The football comes second, championship is more manageable and cheaper than the premier league..
These 2 are Business men not football men… remember that, because that forms the basis for every desicion they make.
I do believe Conner’s tears were genuine though, and the 2 M’s were probably having a jolly good laugh about it later over a couple of vintage Whiskeys.
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
The new manager has to be a breath of fresh air, has to have up to date, modern ideas of how the game should be played, he has to have passion and a desire win games through creativity and not attrition. I don’t care if he can’t get on with Moxey and I don’t care about “Wolves DNA”, whatever that even is. Morgan has to be bold in the coming months, but there is one decision that should be nailed on – get that fat, untrustworthy, lying, greedy wanker Moxey out of this club
If we appoint another manager in the Mick McCarthy mould, we might as well give up and go home.
PS Anyone still think if only the fans had been more supportive then we would have definitely stayed up??????????!!!!!!
I don’t agree, Robin. I think TC genuinely saw the players as his ‘lads’ and wanted the best for them when MM went.. I don’t think his ego’s that big and his tears were genuine in that he’s let so many folk down. Have a heart mate.
Its nothing to do with ego he’s just a yesman Idiot who’s some relation to poxey.
I see on the E/S website Moxey has apologised to the Wolves fans. If he had done his job properly he wouldn`t have had to do that. For the first and only time this nseason I agree with his comment though, that we have to see the season out before we appoint a new manager, or hold the inquest.
I arranged my long weekend in Swansea in January, so I`ll be going down there for the game – oh well once a Wolves fan, always a Wolves fan. Its also been pretty obvious since January also that the dinasur tactics and team selections of MM were leading us in one direction only. So many major cockups, frankly it was almost a relief to have the inevitable happen yesterday.
There is some bridge building, beyond Moxey`s apology, which the club and Morgan need to do. I don`t mind waiting until after the Wigan game for the new manager and the clearout of deadwood, thats for the new manager. I just hope for once its an inspirational appointment, we do need some good news after this season.
I would’nt bank MGD,Not with track record we always do it on the cheap.FOJM.FOTC.
If we only can get a decent manager, one attack minded, we can actually have something to look forward to next season. De Matteo would be an excellent choice.
Championship will not be easy. Much depends on who is Manager.
Moxey not ruling out Clipbored.
I am still very numb after yesterday-game summed our season up
lots of headless effort with nothing to show for it.
We need someone who can organise and have a plan-something we haven’t had all season.
Pleased to see Doyle actually doing a strikers role. Expect him to go back to Reading.
Que Sera………
Paul Ince??????????????
Bring on next season! I for one am looking forward to seeing us win a few games.
You picked your chin off the floor yet, Ben? I think we’re in good shape as a club. Those of you who went through the 80s and the mediocrity of the 90s should appreciate that we haven’t had it this good for 30 years, despite the misery of the last 3 or 4 months. Get over it and let’s look forward!
CUMMON ME BABBIESS!!!!!!
Are you saying I have a big chin Dave?! (I was called Jimmy Hill at uni, so you do have a point if so!)
Well, in the context of the wilderness years of the 90s, then yes, things could be worse, but they could and should be a whole lot better.
I can take relegation, failure and defeat. It happens. What I can’t take is self inflicted, short sighted amateurism which has directly impacted upon a season which should have been so different.
Of course, there is always tomorrow. There is always next season. And as I look out of my office window over to the ring road and North Bank, there is sunshine!
But to use this lovable essence of the game to effectively bypass an in depth post mortem seems wrong to me.
Let the post mortem begin now, and lets not go on the self inflicting offensive when it needn’t have been like this.
Dave,
Agree things aren’t that bad in the sense that Wolves were in the 4th division when my dad first took me. And yet, in a way that makes it all the more sad that, having come so far, Premier League football should be thrown away due to such inexplicable decisions.
UTW
Fair point Dave, some of us go back to the early 60’s in Div 1 when we held our own against most of the then top teams, who are pretty much the same ones as today. With our long memories we tend to gloss over todays more recent achievements, but trust me we do feel the hurt and the pain and the disappointments of WW. My personal opinion is that we should have been relegated last season and so this season was in fact a bonus. Mr Redrowman did nothing to improve the club then, he’s had a pretty sh**e past 3-4 with WW becoming the laughing stock of the PL and 2 mins before time he’s laughing his massive red head off with one of his nob-head business chums while WW sail merrily back down to the CH. However he’s the man with the money and he’s the one we must keep onside so we must move on and look forward to the exciting changes which I’m sure he will initiate for next season.
I think you’re pretty much spot on there. I think that keeping Mick this season was a contentious decision, but having kept faith with him it was bonkers to let him go when we did, even after humiliation at the hands of the shit. Hopefully he’ll learn from his mistakes and stick with us; people weren’t exactly champing a the bit to buy us when Sir J was offering us around for a quid, and we could have far worse. Life goes on though, the words of the Geordie above are reassuring, particularly since they’ve had an even worse considerably-richer-than-you delboy-type character in charge of them for the past few years.
RedRow Stadium, anyone??
i’m looking forward to seeing Wolves win some games too – at least next season won’t be a season where we’re underdogs every single week.
I have the solution to all our woes!!
England have no manager at the moment, Connor should be appointed.
Keogh is scoring goals for Millwall, let’s buy him back!!!
No let’s take him on a season’s loan, along with several other ex-players who have been popping goals in regularly in the lower leagues, and don’t forget Griffiths up in the land of the Jocks.
I always thought Keogh was afraid of goals… the amount he turned his back on them and ran the other way
Just watched the Moxey Video:
Right towards the end he says (with all seriousness) ‘Actions speak louder than words… let our football do the talking..” – God that Bloke is a total and utter knob. End of.
UTW
Yes I agree.
Lets all remember these fine words today… ready for the future.
“What is for certain is that some players will go and some will be signed but we want to try to keep our BEST players. We’re under no financial pressure to sell, but we also understand the realities of football.
We want to try and keep our best players..
What a pile of Shit This man sprouts time and time again..
Their agents already have clubs lined up and he knows it.. That’s the reality of football..
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
I’m certainly no Moxey fan, lying bastard.
He says that we dont have to sell our best players .. and built into their contracts are wage reduction clauses in the event of relegation. here’s the crack tho’ .. he omitted to say that most of the best players have get out clauses also.
Can anybody tell me what responsibilities within the club that he has and how at this time it justifies his £1.3 million pound salary (bonuses excluded of course) or even keeping his job.
And before anybody comes up with the .. We are in a strong financial position .. so what if we are playing in the Championship.
Lets go further and compare us with all the clubs that did survive .. Norwich, Swansea, A@@**n, poss Wigan, Fulham, Blackburn poss. None have bigger gates than we do or CEO’s on megga money.
Conclusion .. we are run and managed by a bunch of money grabbing prats with no football interests just bottom line. I really do not want to shell out £500 every season to line their pockets .. I want a proper , progressive football team to follow.
So it’s a FOJM, FOSM, FOTC, FORJ … FOUR BIG NO’s
I saw this myself, looked at the wife, shook my head stood up and went to the pub. Does Poxey really think we are all stupid !!!!!!!!
If things are not right at the top end for the begining of next season all I see is one long hard slog, with no hope of sucsess.
Poxey is a better spin doctor than Alistair Cambell ever was.
Morgan pumping £20 million into one of his companies. No money left for players.
It’s the same old sell high buy cheap routine.
Clipbored will be manager-all best players will go-Moxey is trying to talk up prices.
Don’t trust this lot as far as I could throw them.
Moxey lying again about Lunchtime O’Bruce.
Does he think we are stupid.
“While no one wants to receive negative comments from fans, it comes with the territory and I accept that’s the job I’ve got.
“In football, someone has to be blamed and held to account and although it’s not what I’d want, I take it on the chin. I am big enough, ugly enough and experienced enough to know what happens. For me, it’s not a big deal.

Opened your big gob too far here Jez. Cos I hope you ARE held to account and Morgan asks himself ‘Does he justify his £1.3 million salary .. the answer to that is categorically NO. He’s made blunder after blunder, told lie after lie, spin more crap than Alistair Campbell (Copied from a blog but nonetheless true) I know that the players are on the pitch but if you recruit average players on are a restrictive wage structure .. you reap what you sow.
So please get raid of him .. nobody in their right mind on his salary will resign .. he needs pushing!
Finally ‘For me it’s not a big deal’ .. well just shows to me what a careless, couldn’t give a shit to any criticism attitude you really have.
