One positive you can extract from a thus far disheartening season is that none of the current top three have beaten us.

Hull, Brighton and now Burnley have all come to town and none have looked even marginally better.
Equally though, Kenny Jackett hasn’t been able to squeeze that extra few percent out of his players to turn one of those stalemates into victories.
And that’s all it came down to yesterday, finding that little bit more to overcome a competent and surprisingly workmanlike Burnley side.
They sprinted from the blocks and could have been over the hill and far away before the home side got properly started, but thankfully early chances were squandered.
An even and largely forgettable first half followed but the second period was played out almost exclusively in the visitors’ half.
Wolves huffed, puffed, scrapped, squeezed and enjoyed the lion’s share of possession, but never once forced Tom Heaton into a save.
Benik Afobe typified the performance, admirably going to war and doing all the ugly things he rarely had to do last season.
But when he was required to do what he does best, the game’s best chance came and went with the goalie left untroubled.
Say whatever you like about the many factors contributing to the team’s inconsistency, but if their talisman was firing there would be a few points more on the board.
That said, the supply line hasn’t exactly been free-flowing of late.
James Henry and Dominic Iorfa combined effectively throughout but nearly all of those surges ended with a looping cross to nobody in particular.
Over on the left Sheyi Ojo did little but lose possession and fall over in another uninspiring start.
Nathan Byrne can count himself unfortunate to find himself second in the pecking order, while Jordan Graham must wonder why he was recalled in the first place?
At least in the center of midfield there’s some clarity with Jack Price imperious on his return to the side.
When you’ve got two midfielders who consistently demonstrate an appetite to get on the ball and make constructive passes, it makes life easier for everyone.
The cleansheet was another welcome plus and after being pulled around for the first fifteen minutes the back four looked settled and comfortable.
Mike Williamson was initially stretched by the pace of Andre Grey but soon found a rhythm and performed effortlessly throughout.
Kenny Jackett would be wise to extend his stay for as long as Steve McLaren will permit.
With a two week break to dissect another inconsistent run of results, a solid foundation would at least be a good place to start.

I feel our real problem lies on the wings at the moment. Ojo cannot beat a man, and for a winger that’s not a good sign. I can’t see him ever appearing in Liverpool’s first team. And while Henry huffs and puffs he struggles too, though there was eventually a couple of decent balls. It was ironic that one of our best wingers in recent years was sitting on Burnley’s bench. McCarthy had his critics but there was no doubting flying wingers were an effective tool in the Championship. Price was brilliant and if he stays in the team hopefully McDonald will come forward a little. Yes Afobe spurned a great chance but he’s feeding off scraps at the moment and I thought he won some great balls with his chest yesterday. It’ll happen for him, though we’rw still destined to drift in mid table.
Agree with Rich, Ikeme was solid too.
Judging by the highlights I’d say we did everything right except scoring. Afobe did well and managed to get into position to score many times, but were unfortunate. Too much burden rests on Afobe’s shoulder. With Dicko, Edwards and Sako we had 3 other players who scored goals on a regular basis. Now we have Afobe and Edwards.
The wingers are a bit inconsistent, especially away from home. At home we can compete against every team in the league. In my view it’s the away form which is the big problem (I haven’t checked the stats though). Maybe it’s because we have such a young team, or maybe it’s a question of strategy. Keeping a clean sheet should be a priority away from home (especially against the best teams, and then go for stinging counterattacks), even if it means playing with five defenders (yes, it sounds bad, but it works).
A result of some sort and typifies Wolves season..really concludes it in theory..ie. not quite good enough..
We can now defend but we haven’t the strategy..the manager..the midfield drive..enough front strikers..no wingers..we are now blatantly short of Sako and Dicko to make the current difference…
For the first time for ages I’m thinking
we will not be in that top six and accept not only is the season over but
new owners and a full rebuild is the only way forward…
That is unless it is accepted we are a lower mid table club in the championship..
I do not.
I agree. But what can you do when the coach makes the stupid statement that Ojo, who appears totally useless most of the time, can quickly become the next Sako. ? Is Mr. Jacket watching the same games as we are, or is he in some sort of trance rejoicing in the fact that we are so outstandingly lucky have a Liverpool loanee available, who he feels obligated to select come what may ?
I wish, once and for all, we forget about Sako, and dont think about or mention Dicko until at least the summer.
Sako is gone, period.
Get over it.
Dicko is gone for the season.
What ifs NEVER win matches.
If the best players from our history were still around, and as good as when in their prime, we would have a reasonably good squad.
They aint and we dont and we are over it, just like we should be over the two I aint gonna mention again.
We all know the problems, and if we can see them then so can the coach and his wonderful staff.
(Tongue very much in cheek)
A point is as much as can be expected with the dearth of good players and management, and if we average another point per game, we might stay in this division.
Sadly, that is probably as much as we can expect.
At least we have the pleasure of watching poolis lose what little hair he has left ranting on the OT touchline as the shit lose yet again, as well as chelski watching relegation loom large beneath them.
Happy days
Fo wb
The lack of consistent team selection and playing method is surely at the root of our problems.
After the game our imperious coach made a memorable comment. In summation, ” when Jack Price is playing alongside McDonald, we always play well.” In which case, why is he hardly ever picked to play ?. This is typical of Mr. Jackets ongoing confusion. For example, Byrne seems to fluctuate between being the pacy winger we urgently need, to being surplus to requirement. Jordan Graham is never given a chance, being ignored in favor of an 18 loanee who simply out of his depth. How do these guys ever get to build any confidence ?
Our team selection, and the mode of playing seems to be based on how Mr. Jacket feels when he gets out of bed on the morning of the game. He has never been sufficiently consistent to allow players to gel into a team. Does he even understand that Football is in fact a team sport, and not just a collection of individuals who happen to be wearing the same color shirts ? It makes you wonder.
When we dont perform i often read the players arent good enough and we have made no signings etc so when we do perform i am left wondering. Looks like Coady was a KJ signing the way he has continually tried to go with him over Price. Surely he should give Jack a run in the side now i would also do the same with Bryne. Players are too often catapulted in and out of the side without getting 2 games together.
Agreed that KJ just HAS to stick with the midfield pairing that at least gives us a chance to WIN matches.
And I think WE all know who they are.
As you say Thomas, we have consistently matched the best in this division, now we just need to be CONSISTENT!
We now seem to have a defence that’s fit for purpose and two midfielders who can use the ball.
I don’t think that we are in danger of going down but if we are to have ANY chance of going up we have to create more chances and FINISH THEM!
If only we had Sako and Dicko up front.
Damn!
Don’t mention the War.
I did once but I think I got away with it!
Clive ..I have accepted Sako s gone..I just might not ever get over it ..still in mourning like a lot of us.
We should never loose our best players just create a situation where they want to stay (ask Bully) …and then ask Afobe…..(crap yr self here)
If you add in Dicko’s injury too our failings are so obvious this season..
It’s what we have done about it and our solution…
Steve, Under the current management team we will always lose our best players.
We pay Micky Mouse wages and even average players double their package at bigger clubs.
Wages wise we are so far behind the real world it’s un-true.
If we don’t get in a bit of quality in January we will be bottom half of the table at the end of the season.
I know this is over simplification but unfortunately it’s fact. The championship is a very tough league to get out of, You have to beat 3 teams that were in last seasons prem, 3 teams who finished in the top 6 of the championship 3 teams promoted from Div 1 who have a point to prove. So that’s 54 points home and away. Thought provoking is it not.
Incidentally after his great start at Palace Sako has now had 5 games on the bench.
And missed a sitter at Liverpool when he came on..is missing his previous status too…
but Sako is happy – he’s getting double his previous wages ……
Some weeks I look at the table and see how far off the playoffs we are and some weeks I look to see of we re going down again .
This usually coincides with the dropping of jack price but not always
I really think that kenny should give graham his chance and I think we should buy Williams ( one goal conceded in three games is nt it ?
i would agree – Williamson has been the experienced head we were missing since Stearman was stupidly sold.
Buying Williamson is certainly advisable, if he’s for sale. It’s amazing what a difference a cool, calm, collected central defender makes. Stearman worked hard but wasn’t all that cool, was he ?
Of course, there is a bright side to Afobe’s sudden lack of goals. It will obviously make him much less attractive to his Premier League suitors thus giving us a much better chance of keeping him in the Christmas window.
But should we desperately want to keep a striker who isn’t scoring?
Do I want him to start regularly hitting the net again if it means losing him at Christmas?
Is it Benik or piss-poor service that’s causing his current drought?
That’s it, my brain hurts now. I’m going back to bed.
Oh. Definitely play Price and Byrne and please Kenny, give Jordan a chance.
Hi London..we must buy Williamson I totally agree he has stabilised us at the back no doubt..(and shows DB is too young as a Captain)
We need to find or buy a midfielder. ( or 2 wingers and a striker )that can change matches again..
Say ..a Steve Daley.. An Alan Sunderland and a Waggy…
Not much then..
Forgive me ..I’m getting old……….
Can you imagine how much Waggy would be worth if he was playing today?
Rather more than Morgan paid for our club that’s for sure.
I was watching some old footage of him in action the other day (Waggy, not Morgan) and marveling what he could do on the ploughed field that use to pass for a pitch at the Molineux.
Not only could he go past full backs like they weren’t there and then put a cross straight onto the Doog’s head, he had pace, a hell of a shot and could ping 40 yard passes onto an old sixpence.
And all without knocking the ash off the end of his tab.
‘Lest we forget’.
A midfielder?! Didn’t someone calculate we already had 17? Maybe wide midfielders, known in my time as wingers. But then Byrne and Jordan need at least a consistent chance. I join in with the constant bemusement at Price’s treatment. No mention of Dangerous anywhere – my Burnley mate reckoned he was our MOTM. I suspect he’ll be regarded as bonkers!
I hear you.. we have loads and I’m a fan of Dave Edwards but we need another K Mac ie a flamboyant ball player ..a driver ..Edwards is a great secret weapon sub..the others are moderate..
Afobe and Dicko are not moderate at the front either..when Dicko was fit they were the best in the division..
I don’t think Williamson is moderate nor is Iorfa ..DB can be..but Overall we have 6 moderate 1st team players that’s why we are in a moderate league position imo..
Oh yes we have a moderate manager too..
It was not a beautiful game. It was the sort of game that would make you join Rob Marris in campaigning for the assisted dying bill. The first half needed very little assistance in dying. It was coma inducing. The mystery is that no one played particularly badly—– well almost no one, Ojo did seem to be playing like a man who did not want to have his motability scooter repossessed. Henry and Iorfa were threatening down the right although Henry needs to select a higher club when crossing. Price hustled and harried and as long as he doesn’t try and play the long ball too often should keep his place. McDonald can pass and needs to relieve Baath of the responsibility of lumping the ball up field as often as possible. Batth’s long passes have the accuracy of man who is not just missing the barn door but the whole barn. In fact we should abandon the whole Hail Mary pass tactic for at least 80 minutes of a game. Afobe needs the ball at his feet. In the second half we were the better team and Burnley looked happy to come away with a point. I say happy, they looked ready to be plugged into their life support machines ready for their long trip back to the grim north.
And finally it was a pleasure to see Wardy once again glide up and down the touchline like a migrating wildebeest.
If Henry could supply a pass, as accurately as your game summaries bring a smile to my face, we’d be top of the league! –
I was ,in the context ,of this season well pleased with a point.
It’s the left side, the Sako hole, where we’re missing the match winning quality. Although this was Goldbourne’s strongest game for a while. He looked very strong, & I hope he can get forward more because he actually looks like the best crosser of the ball in the side.
Why Henry persists in putting over high looping crosses I just don’t know.
KJ was cautious in not throwing on ALF to get a winner. Possibly because we are far too open without Edwards filling in the holes, or possibly because the quality is not there on the bench to get that winner.
But that’s where we are at present a bit scared of our own shadow, worrying more about what’s behind us than going hell for leather for the top 6.
Liked Dave Edward’s answers to fans questions in the programme. When asked about would he like a song from the ‘terraces’ he said yes, but he knows he divides opinion with the fans here. Not just this blog the whole diaspora of Wolves fans.
I have to say he’s a great club professional & when fully fit is a big addition for us. It summed him up when he commented on his ‘deadly’ & ‘dangerous ‘ nicknames; I hope they are meant in the right way as I have not got a nasty bone in my body.
I saw Graham pre-season at Doncaster & he scored, but he didn’t impress me that much, Byrne looks the best of the wide youngsters, but KJ is reluctant to play him as he’s stronger right side which is Henry’s best side.
It’s the area we need to sort asap ,the left side conundrum ,because that’s where we’re going to get that extra quality to win games like the one on Saturday.
Just read Danny’s comment on the passing ability of Batth, I agree but it was he who made that wonderful long punted pass first half from which Afobe miraculously nearly scored. Heaton actually pulled off a good save.
I admit that I only knew it was him after reading a report after the game. In real time in the ‘Billy’ I assumed it was Macca. But it was a Batth special!
I guess, given form prior to these last 3 matches, many of us would have settled for 5 points; draws with Blues and Burnley and a win at Bristol. So 4 points isn’t so bad. The apparent return to defensive solidity is cheering – if you don’t concede you can’t lose.
Given that all the evidence shows that Ojo is an effective impact sub, but pretty useless when he starts, it begs the question why KJ started with him on Saturday. Byrne has the pace we so desperately need and should start on the right. There are plenty of options for starting on the left – Henry, Wallace, Graham – with Ojo to come on later.
Sitting back home in the Cotswolds I read this blog for the best insights into all things Wolves. Always well thought out, always with dead pan Black Country humour. so many friends I’ve never met.
But more and more I read posts that, sometimes only in passing, take a pop at Jackett. So from this safe distance may I make a couple of points in his defense.
As his title is Chief Coach not manager we may assume he has little say on signings. Whoever does have the final say replaced Sako with the loan of an 18 year old. Maybe this was part of the “recruiting young and hungry and players”. If so how come the signings of players surplus to requirement at Cardiff (Cardiff!) and Wigan (Wigan!), both of whom have been round the block several times. So no consistent recruitment policy and therefore, no surprise, no consistent results.
As to Jackett’s selections we are not present at training so do not see what the Chief Coach observes in terms of attitude and fitness levels. Nor do we know what minor niggles etc a player may be carrying.
If it is decided to dispense with Kenny who do we know that would do a better job with the players currently available, and more to the point, would want the job.
Answers on this Blog will be read with great interest in rural Gloucestershire.
Cotswold, were you at Ashton Gate last Tuesday night mate?
if so, please explain our Chief Coach’s tactic (if you can call it that) in putting on a right back (Matt Doherty) in place of a winger when we were 1 nil down and needed to get back into the game? I and many fans around me were totally underwhelmed by that and that’s the understatement of the century!
UTW!
I read that putting Doherty on was supposed to relieve Henry of defensive responsibilities and allow him to play ab more attacking role…………that’s what it said !
I hate with a vengeance the terms “Head Coach” “Chief Coach” and any other eeffin coach. It’s come from the states and the set ups there are completely different and alien to the UK Football scene.
Just climbed on the high horse what we and all the other clubs need in an eeffin manager who delegates and tell others what needs to be done. His chief scout tells the other scouts that the manager wants “Fred Smith” of Village Green Rovers watch and a report compiled. Then it goes forward. Manager tells MONEYMAN to buy Fred and it goes from there.
You can’t have non footballing staff at any level in any club let alone in ours.
Being a manager is a skill, I have it not in football but the same principal applies in my field I could and did move from job to job never for less money, the job title never interested me I knew what my job was and how to do it.
Finally since WWFC changed from a titled role of manager to coach we have not moved forward not acquired players when we are clearly in crisis in a nut shell the club is not being managed as a football club, just another money maker for Mork and eeffin Mindy. Rant over.
Hey, Rural, how you doing today?
If KJ has little or no say in signings, then who does?
greasel?
His background in basketball really helps.
blob the builder?
All he can do is run away.
Other board members?
Two are also in the construction industry, which is always a hotbed for knowledgeable football experts, and our three faves, Sir Steve, Sir Robert and Lady Heyhoe apparently have no say.
Plus, if KJ has no say, then how can he get in the players he wants to compliment the ones he does have, without input?
No, I think KJ has a lot of input, and words such as coach and manager are completely interchangeable.
He coaches, manages and picks the team.
For that he must take full responsibility.
The players are on the pitch, performing, or not, for which THEY must take full responsibility.
We are on the outside looking in, taking absolutely zero responsibility, and coaching, managing and picking the right team every week, and our selections would have always won, but KJ got it wrong!!!
Although I hate to see us not win, and it’s so easy to bitch and moan, I don’t think there is a manager/coach out there who would be available, and if there is, I don’t think we should go after him.
Give KJ until the end of the season at least, coz with the upheaval of blob running away, who knows how it has affected the minds of our players. ( those that have one!)
However, are the rumors about QPR wanting him true? If so, and he goes, then all bets are off, and derision and scorn shall pour forth upon his head, for doing a blob.
I for one hope they aint.
On a funnier note, I read with laughter and incredulity about those ex players, such as Ferdinand, Murphy, Cole etc, who have supposedly lost millions in “poor” investment, tax dodging schemes.
Poor lambs.
The expression fools and their money comes to mind, but also, how do fools get money in the first place??
No friggin’ sympathy form this side of the pond.
Still laffin at poolis’s pricks losing again!!
FOwb
Hi Houston
Doing well thanks.
No mention by you of the likeliest suspect: Kevin Thelwell whose title is Head of Football Development and Recruitment. For me that implies he has the most say in identifying targets and making signings. If not what is he for?
My point is we don’t know who makes key decisions nor on what criteria (if any) they are based. Totally agree that there does not seem to be many viable alternatives to Jackett out there, certainly not amongst those who may want the job. But headline in my paper says QPR and Fulham competing to appoint Hasselbaink. Just saying.
I take your point Wokingham but I don’t have any insight into Jackett’s thought processes nor what information he might have had that led to his decision.
Wokingham ..straight through the heart lol
He has made some perplexing decisions I must say and shrugs at the interviewing after….’I thought we didn’t do this…I thought we didn’t do that’…
Ok ‘coach’ – Why can’t you coach?
Why are we out manoeuvred tactically ?
Forget Kenny Jackett, Kevin Thelwell it’s intrinsic right through the club.
Scott Sellers has announced his squad for tonights U22’s at Telford and Jordan Graham is in Jed Wallace is in, Deslandes is in, Naill Ennis is in, But No Conor Rohnan who was the star of the show on Friday night at Molineux against Blackburn. How the hell am I ever going to get KJ to pick th lad in the First team, if Sellars leaves him out to play numpties just to go for a win.
Me and Jen de Wolf will be there tonight, that Kenny Jackett is going to get a piece of my mind, that will take me down to 50% Brain capacity.
On a Fantastic note. Shrewsbury town are looking to offer Kevin Foley a contract, I always liked the lad, gave his all for us.
Also, someone has come in for RVLP, thank Christ, let’s hope they want his Clone Ojo as well. Talk anout a Doppleganger.
David Moyes seen in McDonalds Penn Road this afternoon. !
Ive said his name to E&S on their blog… now that IS INTERESTING…
I didn’t know that Penn had a football team?
Was Moyes behind the counter?
Houston get a grip…could be fruitful..
Why is it even though a draw is a good result I feel totally deflated looking at a third of the stadium seats empty, looking at the bench thinking why hasn’t he started or looking at players like Ojo and thinking if I was the manager you wold never even wash the shirts never mind put one on…!
Looking at Burnley and thinking what are we frightened off. And finally looking at the directors box and thinking what a bunch of wankers……call themselves Wolves fans I’m sorry to say but I carnt wait for this season to end, I know you wouldn’t believe it would you….seriously I carnt wait for the mind numbing heartbreaking average season at best to end.
Well that was definitely a good summing up of all things wrong at the molineux. Good honest thought provoking facts. Ojo has turned out to a liability as RVLP was.
The bench has ,
ALF
Holt
Coady
Doherty
Ojo at times
RVLP at times
I would’nt let them near rhe bench when we have the likes of.
Enohakbare
Deslandes
Graham
Rohnan
Conor Hunte
Willie, we got the FA Cup to look forward to, aint we !!
I would guess that another 56 points are required to make the play offs. Therefore 19 wins from 30 games. Which means winning 2 of every 3 until the end of the season. A tall order already. It’s not impossible but the current win ratio is 1 of 3. So a dramatic upturn of form is required.
It could happen you know…….but personally, I’ll not be holding my breath.
Oh, if anyone’s interested, here’s a short film about our u18’s drawing 2-2 with the mighty Man City.
http://www.mcfc.co.uk/CityTV/Match-highlights/2015/November/City-u18s-v-Wolves-match-highlights?
Not so long back Man City were in a worse state than Wolves. Then came along a mega rich benefactor with big ambition. That would be nice….
Well there is the rumour about the Reuben Brothers interested in buying Wolves. They’re mega rich.
Not brothers most of us remember the last time. We don’t want that again.
Don’t let the fact that they’re brothers put you off. These brothers are different, very different…
What a great collection of posts so far about our current situation. Entertaining and full of insight. We’ve got some great fans, who deserve better from ‘our club.
I think a draw was the best we could hope for before the whistle,Burnley had the two good chances early doors and that was it.
second half we bossed it in my opinion and should have won it with the chances we had,but Ofobe at the moment is struggling in front of the sticks but saying that his movement was far better than of late.
Still think we need someone with him who’s quick and tall,Don’t think Holt is the answer but who’s available ?.
Lets hope we get someone in sooner than later,OWNER AND STRIKER.
Another break looming now lets hope we come back stronger for it rather than shite..UTW.
What’s Peter Crouch up to these days????
7ft 2″ and still going through puberty. Doctors are worried if his balls drop it may be too traumatic for him, So they’ve advised Abby Clancey to sign a non disclosure clause and told her to keep her mouth shut
They should all know this by now.
Good job you have never met the second Mrs Exile, she knows the offside rule proably as well as Clatenburg, she even knows the offside rule in Clive’s throwball.
Who does Abby Clancy play for??
Just seen on the Express & Lie that Bolton want RVLP on loan, why don’t we just give away permanetly? They can have Martinez as well as far as I am concerned. That would put IKeme back goal which would please Borderwolf and the PMDG as they would again have something to ogle over.
I must be turning a little, I prefer Ikeme as well, but I like a different kind of Buns to Mrs Doog.
Shirley Knot!
What’s wrong with PMDGs buns?
Is that nearly a red card?
They are only hot and cross when The Wolves lose at Easter.
There’s nothing wrong with them.
In fact they’re delicious when hot and spread thickly with butter.
Now THAT IS a red card!
Nice one Tipton, as I have offered on previous occasions, I’ll drive up from Berkshire collect RVLP and take him to any club that wants him and while I’m at it Martinez can have a seat in the back as well.
UTW!
RVLP went to Bolton yesterday and was shown around the ground, the groundsman went over to shake his hand and RVLP went diwn in the penalty area. Ojo claimed it was a genuine appeal and got booked.
Absolute crap commentary but Niffy footwork.

How can you call a piece of Partridge poetry crap commentary?
“Boof! Eat my goal!”.
You’ve been spending too much time up to your oxters in pond weed, bring back Dickie Davies.
🙂
From the department of “You couldn’t make this shit up” comes the latest USA gem.
A lawsuit has been filed to prevent kids under the age of eleven from heading the ball when playing “sahcah”
This in a land where the national sport of throwball has the main objective of smashing your opponent to pieces by whatever means available, whilst wearing padding and crash helmets to make it easier, and where, on average, one toddler per week is either shot by, or shoots, a “secure” gun.
I lied.
After going to a Billy Joel concert last week, she who shall be obeyed and I agree that the national sport over here is obesity.
FOwb
Unfortunately it’s a sport being taken up by so many this side of the pond.
How was the concert buddy, was Bristy Crinckley with him.
The concert was Brillo, as always.
No, that tart was nowhere in sight.
Dickie Davies Eyes was a classic tune by Half Man Half Biscuit in the late 80’s. It went “and i’ll wipe my snot on the arm of your chair as you put another Jimmy Dean poster on the wall”. Acerbic scouse wit. Well I say scouse
but they were Tranmere fans from Wirral. Still going as well. Playing The Robin Bilston in December. Hopefully they will play ‘The Trumpton Riots’. “THERE’S GONNA BE A RIOT DOWN IN TRUMPTON TONIGHT” !
Does anyone know anything about the Reuben brothers buying the Mighty Wolves.
Its just a rumour mind you.
Billionaires but deal in property,?????.
They’re Chelsea fans, for what it’s worth.
Would be a sound investment for a builder with money as Morgan proved. So much run down and derelict property is ripe for a developer (who is a son of Wolverhampton) this council would sell their granny to bring someone (else) in to spruce the shithole up. So may well be a good rumour, in terms of local development but as far as the team building goes, (what’s in it for Wolves)
Reubenstein United,
A Synagog on every corner of the ground
Black skull caps as part of the kit
A frugal spending Coach/manager
Miracles to order
Wolverhampton crest with the star of David above it
“Out of the darkness into the promised land” (now I like that one)
Talk of Reuben bros just seems to be on Wolves fan sites. These guys are wealthier than Captain Morgan times 14. With that goodnight and sweet dreams.
I like Captain Morgan……………
The spiced rum variety, with coke and a slice of lime
Used to drink it by the pint
Fuckin’ A
Come on down Reuben bros we might get Mourinho too..
You never know we could become a feeder club for Chelsea or better still they could be one for us.UTW
Something ought to happen. Feels like i am a long way from middle earth in the middle of nowhere with Kenny Baggins. All of a sudden a tree gets up and starts talking sounds uncannily like Mick MacCarthy.
Reuben Brothers, apart from being rich enough to make Steve Morgan look like their hired help, are also big in to charity with a $100 million trust. Maybe that’s the source of the rumours re Wolves.
Reuben brothers? Hmmm, very interesting. We are Jew some good luck are we not?
Sorry – that is nearly a red card!!!
Screams heard coming from Jez Moxey’s broom cupboard this morning, poor old Jez, he thought they said, ” if the Reubensteins come in, because of his size Jez will have to be Circumnavigated” easy mistake Jez.
The only saving grace for hom is women do love anything with 20% off.
Do you mean Jez will have to be circumcised?
Probably too tight to give anything away.
I think what had really happened the doctor told the Nurse to “Prick his boil”
I’d pay good money to see that.
http://www.Reubens brothers.com
Can’t see as they would be interested in us…
But “YES PLEASE”
Can’t be any worse than we have now.
Taxi for Jez…
I’d love the Reubens to buy Wolves as I know of their ambitions to compete in Europe. Sadly Spurs might be a more suitable vehicle for them, or even the Hammers as Europe is realistically achievable for each next season.
I still think there’s hope though, especially with Robbie Keane’s consortium supposedly interested in us. We have to be a better buy than Leeds Un-united or Bolton Wanderers.
I have just seen the Reuben brothers waiting at the number 27 bus stop in Gornal. The one had a wippet and the other was swigging a can of Special Brew. Well it could have been them. Probably.
What did we tell you about telling porkie Pies.
The 27 don’t stop in Gornal.
The 27 and the 27a (dudley-gornal-sedgley-wolvo) both stop in Gornal. It’s the first thing the Reubens will do. Buy a day saver for £4.20 and take the 27 from Wolvo to Gornal so they can take in some culture at Gornal library. You know it makes sense Stu.
Surely they will go to the CRooked House first.
Can they get there on a West Mids daysaver?
Looks like Lambert and Pearson will be back in the championship before the end of the break at clubs in and around us.
Sad to here of the death of ” filthy animal Taylor the drummer from Motörhead I saw them a couple of times at Donnington Park at the old Monsters of Rock festivals in the 80’s along with AC/DC brilliant weekends I think it’s called Download now.
I also saw them at the civic a couple of times. I wasn’t a big mental fan I’m more of a Ska, The Jam and Punk but some of my mates were and I tagged along and I’m glad I did Motörhead are one of those bands that only come along once in a life time like AC/DC and leave a massive impression on you.
Phil Taylor to go by his correct name was a awesome, skillfull powerfull drummer one of the best if not the best. He was also a great character a nutter but a nice nutter genuine funny and a nice guy by all accounts.
I dabble a bit myself at drumming so I know how brilliant he was.
God bless Phil, you left me with some fantastic memories…….!
Agreed Boxcar.
It’s always sad when a fellow skin basher kicks the bass drum for the last time.
I wasn’t a particular fan of the band either (preferred Lemmy’s earlier incarnation with Stacia prancing about with her ‘tets oot’) but he was certainly an impressive drummer.
I didn’t know that you dabbled as well, although I thought that you must have at least ONE saving grace!
RIP Mr Taylor.
Cheers, doog yeah not so much now kids, work you know but I still play to a full house at Wembly…….(in my head) every now and again..
Boxer dogs willie.
Lovely tribute well said mate, it’s the corners we turn in our life and decisions (good or bad) we make that shape our lives and make us who we are.
Don’t know if I’m older than you but grew up on the Monkees, And the Beach Boys, ( bit limp wristed I know) but they ultimately led me into the Beatles (later music) and then the Eagles (for life).
Anyone who can entertain people in this world of ours is worth their weight in Salt.
RIP Phil Taylor
Hi Stu
Did you get to see the Under 18s yesterday?
Sounds like a decent win.
No Doog.
Jen De Wolf is feeling a little jaded at the moment so we didn’t venture into the wind and rain. Disappointing as it was because by all accounts they played well, but she comes first.
Point of interest, thr first team have iupped their game and in unison the U 21’s and U18’s have done the same. Morgans legacy, ( my arse) Sir Jacks vision amd doggedness.
Stu, I’m 48 so I don’t know mate, but the bands you mention are decent too, I’ve 3 older brothers so I was bombarded with all sorts through my bedroom wall from punk to northern soul and Motown I just like music from Dean Martin to the Sex Pistols I think it’s good not to close your mind just to one thing although you tend to do that as a teenager but as you get older you start to open up a bit.
Variety is the spice of life ………so they say…..,
P.S who are…. ” they “
They,
I was a chaser of the leather casey all my teenage years, then “They” all the bands in my life kicked in and started turning my mind, Monkees were crazy shite, Beatles any song after Hey Jude, Revolution, then I found the Eagles.
I was a DJ in Scotland and this bird kept asking me for the Eagles and that was it, I was hooked.( on the Eagles not the bird)
Like you I love all things Wolves and all things music, at 64 Iv’e developed a a love of any kind as long as it’s good. People like you, Doog and others on the blog that go to concerts have my admiration, love the skin your in!
While we’re talking drummers, we have to include some classic drummer jokes.
Here’s a couple to start:-
Why is a drum solo like a sneeze?
You know it’s coming, but there’s nothing you can do about it.
What does a drummer use for contraception?
His personality.
What’s the last thing a drummer says in a band?
“Hey dudes, how about we try one of my songs?”
And finally…
What do you call a saddo who likes to hang out with musicians?
I’ll leave you lot to answer that one.
If greasel was circumsized, the skin would be kept and the rest thrown away
The Reubens could make a thousand Skull caps out of that fat bathplugs tip.
🙂
you could make a wigwam out of the skin…..
The Sex Pistols Experience are on at Robin Bilston next week. They are a laugh. Saw them couple of years ago. Brilliant put down by ‘johnny rotten’ at the mainly bald middle age crowd “Good to see fat people enjoying themselves”. It was then that a pint of lager was thrown over him. Brilliant.
Ill have alook, Cheese see what night ill try and go depending what shift I’m on. I caught the reall Sex Pistols gig at Brixton 2007 on Sky Arts a couple of weeks ago, brilliant a little out of tune here and there but brilliant all the same, Liar, and No Feelin and Bodies stud out to me and the crowd was a good mix young and old punks and all sorts.
Doogle
Would the answer be an ex goalkeeper who lives in the Somerset area??!!
Wiltshire area actually, but you’re close enough.
Guilty your honour!
Box car. Saw that on telly too. Mr lydon in fine form especially when he forgot the words and the crowd sang them for him. The true spirit of punk was that it was anti establishment, anti racist. It wasn’t perfect and it upset your parents and politians. It stood up for the underdog and told your toff bufoons to f**k off. Needs another punk explosion to get rid of tedious twats like one direction. Take that. Westlife etc etc. Rant over. God Save The F**kin Queen.
She anit no Humam Being………………….God save the Queen……..We mean it man, we love our Queen
God save the Quee…………….na.
Brilliant.
Pretty Vacant is my favourite Pistols song the riff at the start is brilliant then the drums come in …………
…” there’s no point in asking you’ll get no reply ” ….Could be talking about Moxey and Morgarna.
This one for Moxey an all: SHOULD’VE REALISED I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE. YOU’RE A LIAR. YOU’RE A LIAR.

The Not Sensibles were from Burnley. Produced the classic single “I’m in Love With Margaret Thatcher”, complete piss take. No self respecting punk band from Burnley would really love Mrs T.
On the Expres and Star web tonight the blast from the past is a Ipwich v Wolves F.A Cup tie from 1994 I was at that game along with my brother and his mate brought back some great memories but also the memory of that long, long, long flat drive to Norfolk what I remember the most was there was no motorway past Peterborough it was all A roads.
I rember the Wolves fans singing all through the game and at one point singing ” Jack Haywards barmey army for about 20 minutes not stop in the secound half and when the game had finished.
We won 2.1 goals by Lee Mills, what ever happened to him ? And Andy Thompson the most under rated signing in the last 40 years in my option gave everything every game he wasn’t the most skillfull but he made up for it with heart and effort and never let himself or the fans down.
Stagnating mid table obscurity dross.
I’m afraid KJ should take the blame for the less than adequate performance we produced at home again today. Why did he take JG I think he should have taken off Henry he was shite.
We had by far more of the ball , but no end product again in front of goal and as said 1 up front a joke at home.
If we can’t beat teams like MKD’s what chance have we got to clime the table,( they were awful ) but we couldn’t break them down and in the end we could have lost it.
Totally inadequate
