If Birmingham’s plan was to lull us all into a false sense of security, it worked perfectly.

In a feisty, low quality first half our play-off chasing neighbours barely threatened.
Wolves weren’t exactly Real Madrid of course, but they did at least occupy good positions and threaten to threaten Tomasz Kuszczak’s goal.
Connor Coady was a driving force and his two efforts were as close as anyone came to scoring in a scrappy, but not entirely unpalatable 45 minutes.
Funnily enough, for all the criticism leveled at Kenny Jackett for taking too long to make changes, I actually thought he acted prematurely with his half-time tinkering.
Bjorn Sigurdarson still doesn’t look like scoring in a year of Sunday’s let alone a month, but I did feel he occupied the Blues back four quite well and helped bring others into play.
Shoving him out wide to accommodate Michal Zyro didn’t really work and may have contributed to a significantly less cohesive second half team performance.
Truth be told, Birmingham could and should have won it from there on, given that they created a handful of very good chances that were routinely spurned by a variety of culprits.
And when one fizzing effort did find the mark from the uncharacteristically brilliant David Davis (where was this performance in a Wolves shirt?), Carl Ikeme was thankfully on his mettle.
Around that time I couldn’t work out why the South Bank were screaming for Joe Mason, when to me it seemed like the problem was the gaping chasm in our midfield.
Saville in particular seemed to be wilting as the game went on, so I can’t have been alone in hoping to see Kevin McDonald stripping off?
Still, all’s well that ends well right?
A point isn’t a bad result and some of the individual performances provide cause for optimism.
Kortney Hause impressed. Save for one first half lapse in concentration he coasted through and looks a greater prospect at center half.
Coady was high energy again. Better on the ball in the first half but got back in the second to make one vital tackle with Ikeme rounded and their man bearing down on goal.
I also quite like Jeremy Helan. While certainly not a world beater, he’s a highly competent Championship performer, operates at speed and links up well with Matt Doherty. I’d take him permanently if it’s on the table.
Nothing to scream about now of course, but possibly building blocks for a summer that can’t come soon enough.

Why is Macdonald not starting? He is our best player. Why is Mason not starting? Why did Siggy start when we have Mason & Zyro fit. Mason & Zyro score goals, Siggy doesn’t. KJ is really frustrating me now.
When David Davis is the best player on the pitch you understand how far we have fallen…
Wasn’t he surplus to Jackett’s requirements ?? and what have we replaced him with ?
Funny thing is I cant believe all these Bluenoses who seriously think they have a chance of the play offs… They are no better than us.
That just shows what a really poor league this is this year and makes our Board/Owner look even more stupid than they already look (if that’s Possible) for not going for it big time this season..
Jackett is useless and clearly cant get the best out of what he has.. Too many Donkeys in the team now going through the motions..
I admire your optimism Thomas but I came away from that game feeling down about our prospect. We offered next to nothing in the second half. It was a struggle just getting near the opposition, we were playing like the away side and it was a genuine cause of excitement whenever we got close to the box. But our biggest problem in the lack of threat up front. Zyro looks nothing special and poor old Siggy is struggling too. It took heroic/last ditch defending and some glaring Blues misses for us to scrape a point. Anyone got Aitor Karanka’s number?
I thought Cody had a good game and Id like to see him and price anchoring the midfield and Mcdonald given more of a free role in the opposition half. I think the wingers we had out today were a poor shadow of wingers past.
This season has to be a write off but I’m very concerned for next season. We need at least 4 quality players if we are to challenge.
I’m not surprised by the result as fortuitously I predicted a nil nil.
I did think that Jackett came not to lose and was a bit puzzled why McDonald never got on the pitch especially as Saville was getting more and more agitated… and had a dismissal looming.
I can understand why Byrne got the hook , although I agree he did engage the left back. I was puzzled though that Siggy was then used wide right…but alas ineffectively.
I can’t help but think we have no strength in depth and although I renewed my ST I did so out of blind hope that the current crop of tossers are removed by the time the new season gets underway.
My good friend reminded me today of how a former directors son ( who was seated also in the directors box) considers the sway Mrs Toxic is having on the running of the club…..it’s a scandal…
The quicker POXEY goes can’t come a day too soon…
Siggy doesn’t look like scoring but he does work hard and bring others into play. I would like to see Mason or Zyro playing off him in a 4411 but that may expose our centre backs. I like the guy but unless he starts putting them away he can’t be a part of our long term plans – whatever those are. Against that we create little.
Moxey!! After the revelation that his wages make up a greater proportion of the clubs income, (something like 5%??), than possibly any other CEO in the country I just wish he would go. He has presided over mid table mediocrity at best. I watched Guedioura fire Watford past Arsenal – didn’t Moxey sell him when we were managerless after Clipboard had been sacked? The same is true of Vokes. When you look at the money that has come in over the last few years and what we have got on the pitch, what we are prepared to pay in terms of transfer fees and wages, the fact that we are woefully short but still soldiering on at the moment it seems clear that the sooner he and Morgan go the better.
Second half: Siggy and Helan out wide. It isn’t exactly wingers with flair and technical excellence. That’s what we need if we’re gonna play 4-3-3. Maybe a lineup with Helan, Zyro and Byrne could work.
Maybe a 4-4-2 would give us a stronger attacking force central. Zyro and Mason up front. Helan and Byrne on the wings.
In my opinion, Jackett should go now and give someone else an opportunity to get used to the team he or she has to get ready for next year.
To take Byrne off and leave an obvious spent Saville on was crazy tactics, we lost control of their Left side then and they drove through us like an open top bus on tour.
The word on the street today is ALF didn’t figure today because he is off to Fulham and we’re having Matt Smith, I hope he likes sitting on a bench. Also I hope he’s taller than Jimmy Feckin Krankie.
Top of the league to deal with in 6 days time, 6 days to get our act together.
🙂
Are you going ?
I sure am, Got my tickets and the coach is booked, let’s kick the record books out of the ground.
Stu agree totally re: Jackett there was no excuse for the team he picked today, not injuries not sales of players just that Jackett is as useless as or owner, CEO and director of football.
It’s about time some on here wake up and smell the coffee regarding Jackett…!
Paul.
It was there for the taking,
We were the better side first half, taking off Byrne killed it, good move Jackett. I was watching McDonald warming up and I said to my wife he needs to get bloody Macca on, the bloke next to her said it’s not a McDonald game. WTF, the crowd are starting to act like Jackett now, we’ve watched this shite for too long. What’s a McDonald game, he’s the best play maker we have, hid Doppelgänger Price got the highest score for man of the Match as of the last time I checked. It proves to me, McDonald would have flourished today.
What a crock of shit, that little LB must have thought it was Christmas the second half, he had a free rein, he ran us ragged. All because of Jackett’s tinkering.
To be honest he is now behaving like a spoilt Brat, a Prima Donna and I’m sick of his pathetic, constant efforts to feck the team about. Let’s go out fighting at least, give the lads a go, we now do not have anything to lose.
The second Mason came on, the game changed again, straight to mason who drove into the box, yes he fecked up the shot but shit likes that happens, but at Wolves it looks contrived to happen for some bizarre reason unknown to this full fare paying fan.
On a positive , great to see bums on seats again, atmosphere and Banter was terrific, I almost cracked a smile.
Oh we are saaaaaved, just give Zyro, Macca and Mason a chance.
More upheaval to follow now with ALF reportedly off, then Matt Smith coming on loan. hmmmmm that should unsettle us a little more.
StuWolf Sky News at ten
Pissed off cold, sunburnt, confused and disillusioned. but there next game as always.
Birmingham looked very ordinary really more together as a team compact shape, confidence etc but actually think we have the players of greater potential with more individual natural attributes in terms of youth pace strength even technical ability. I know i am banging bit of a lone drum here.
Are they in safe hands with KJ ? thats my big worry he coaches on a conveyor belt.
I’m questioning that KJ doesn’t live at home anymore as he must now only be let out on match days..
We surely now have a conclusive madman manager with perpetual decision making deficiencies..
We are also being effectively deprived of watching our best players..
I just can’t work him out.. he seems to do the opposite to what is logically right..I would prefer a conspiracy as at least it would make more sense.
K Mac Mason Zyro surely should of started..the saddest for me is KMac for all his influence and hard work …
/ passing skills…he must despise Jacket…
The match ..if we were playing those three players then I really believe we could of taken the game to them from the off..
Blues looked poor to me and showed me (with a full compliment of players)
that we are a much better team..
We could of scraped it even with KJs tactics and team choice..
I would of liked to of seen Conner Hunte playing again with KMac supporting him but who can tell when we’ll see him again..(or even KMac at this rate)
This blog is a true educated cross section of veiws and it’s no surprise that the previous subject of Moxey is now being replaced with comments about Jacket..
We could of won this game full up..KJ is now responsible for sacrificing points but more perilously is unsettling the squad long term and that means next season too..gulp
There can only be one answer Mr Moxey…which should be def sorted now and not later…It’s even more important than the new buyer.
Things tend to go in cycles there is no garauntee that in the next few years there is going to be another Ikeme Iorfa Doherty Hause Batth Price or incoming transfers like Sako Dicko Mcdonald Afobe Graham. Call me mad but has Kenny shagged a Golden
generation and nobody noticed ?
I might be wide of the mark but I think Jackett is planning for life after McDonald. You should not be at all surprised if he is sold in the summer. Without a new owner there will be no money to spend unless it is generated through the sale of existing players and as I’ve said previously I’d expect a number of our team to be at risk. Not because there is a lot of top talent but more because any half decent player with any ambition would not want to stay at Wolves in our current predicament. Not only are we no longer a “big club” the reality is we are also fast becoming a club unable to compete with half of the championship. Without a sale we are witnessing the slow death of our club generated through a small minded, financial prudence strategy. Funny how those who have banged on about the meltdown of clubs like Portsmouth are now seeing Leicester, Stoke, Southampton, crystal palace and even Bournemouth all go past us. Christ, even Leeds, for all the chaos they’ve experienced are pretty much level with us in the table.
Fully Agree with Sutton Coldfield Wolf,s comments “slow death of club generated through a small minded, financial prudent strategy”
This sums the situation up and need no further comment, other than
Morgan do the decent thing and sell us on for a £10 note and quickly
As soon as the line ups are revealed you know KJ is setting up for a draw. When has Siggie ever scored for us? It is mind numbing stuff and 0-0 was the best we could hope for. I would love to see mac donald given a free attacking brief in midfield, he is by far our most intelligent ball player.
Just read the kmac sale theory, knowing recent history as we do that could be spot on.
he will be sold for “footballing reasons”
When I saw the team news and Siggi was starting …………………..well, I was lost for words. To be fair to him it was one of his better performances, not that he was good but he put a shift in.
KJ – please instruct Iorfa, Batth and Hause NOT to attempt to ‘pass’ the ball out of the defence!! They just do not have that kind of skill. I lost track of the number of times those three had the ball only to pass it to the opposition or for it to go out of play. Shocking.
Not the most exciting game, especially the first half. It did get marginally better in the second.
I am still wondering how B’ham did not win this match, they had the chances but luck was on our side.
Price, Coady and Saville had decent games, though Saville was struggling for the last 20 mins but no sign of him being replaced, really??
After my beloved Wales lost to the Englanders I was hoping for something to cheer me up, well it did not.
I was fascinated to read a lot of comments on the E&S sites about how Jackett is the root cause of all our on field woes, versus how greasel is the cause of the same woes.
In my book, they are equally to blame.
Jackett, as he picks the team, dreams up the tactics, and inspires the players with his bold, on the fly tactical changes and swift, incisive substitutions.
Greasel, because he was part of the reason Jackett was appointed in the first place, using his past record of mind blowingly brilliant appointees, Clipbored, Solbakjen and Saunders.
How can you sanction the three million pound purchase of a striker, then not play him, coz he dont fit in to your system?
If your system is any good, then why buy someone who wont fit?
Do we not have scouts any more?
If your system aint working, as clearly demonstrated time after time this season, then surely the new bloke should be starting.
It maketh no sense to me.
And, I thought the whole point of playing a football match was to try to beat the opposition, by scoring more goals than them.
When did that change to “lets try to not lose”
Get yer jacket, Jackett, and jack it in.
For a 0-0 it was an entertaining game. Blues should have won it but missed golden opportunities to win 3 points.
We were competitive but just lacked that extra bit of quality to get vital goals.
I can’t smell the coffee on Jackett and genuinely think it would be madness to sack him. Listen to the Forest fans on Freedman. How can we sack a Manager who has had 2 successful seasons & a mediocre one?
I said he needed a positive result after the winless run & we got 2 plus the draw yesterday. Football clubs only thrive either with loads of money or stability.
There are those who think Jackett will go anyway at the end of the season of his own will.
I find some of his decisions baffling but although McDonald is our most technically gifted player we are too open at times playing a system with him in it.
Zyro on the advice of the medical team comes off the bench only at the moment. Well that’s what Jackett says.
Jackett says he’s building a new team & that seems to be why he’s persisting with Coady & Saville. Oh & thought the defence were good yesterday & Price played very well given his spell on the bench.
I’m very much in your camp Allen.
I’m also in full agreement with Allen.
KJ has made some strange decisions at times this season but in my opinion he’s been hung out to dry by a board that is bereft of ambition. He’s also had to contend with an unfathomable number of injuries, all of which are to key players.
Call me naïve but I’m expecting us to be much more competitive next season.
How can Jackett justify not playing Mason? The stats don’t lie. If one compare what Sigurdarson has contributed with vs what Mason has contributed with, then I’m sure the stats would favor Mason. Ok, one could argue that Sigurdarson is another type of player than Mason, and fits Jackett’s tactical approach better. Personally I think it’s a wrong approach given Mason’s contribution in such short time. Even more baffling was it that Byrne was substituted before Sigurdarson just to see Sigurdarson being pushed out wide, Sigurdarson the “productive” one.
We were lucky and didn’t create enough chances. Helan, Zyro,Mason, Byrne would make havoc in a 4-4-2. The question is why doesn’t Jackett revert to a 4-4-2 formation, a formation he had very much success with earlier in the season?
It’s a good manager indeed who can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear and with our injuries and a complete lack of direction from above, Pep Guardiola himself couldn’t achieve enough to satisfy the unrealistic demands of many fans.
Before sacking a manager, you need to point to a replacement who would be willing to jump into the hot seat. No one worth a bean would come to us under the current regime and Kenny, frankly, is better than the 2M’s deserve.
I’d say we have a stronger team on paper than Birmingham. And I don’t vote for a sacking of Jackett. When our team, match after match, don’t create enough chances and the manager don’t ring any changes, we as fans have the right to question his strategy.
“No one worth a bean would come to us under the current regime and Kenny, frankly, is better than the 2M’s deserve”.
I have never been a fan of KJ but agree with your comment 100%. No one with any ambition woluld come here given the constraints put on transfer fees and wages. Chuck in the state of flux with the club up for sale and there you have it.
It’s interesting that Kenny is getting so much stick. While we are all entitled to our opinion Kenny has played at the top level and is an experienced, if unsuccessful manager at championship level. He sees the players on the training field on a daily basis which us punters don’t. I am sure there are good reasons why certain players are selected and others are not. I may not agree with some of his decisions but he’s had a shit run with injuries and appears to have had little financial backing. At the moment I don’t really see anyone better to replace him. Can’t see the likes of Rogers, Moyes or Pearson coming here under the current regime. Of course, there is McClaren or Cottrill – think I’ll stick with KJ – at least until we are sold and have the ambition and financial backing to interest some of the better guys out there.
You are right.
I doubt anyone would come.
However, does Kenny have ambition? –
I do not think so.
He is playing the fall guy for those above him.
We are going nowhere and are stuck with K.J.
As someone else said, Morgan should do the decent thing and offer the club for sale at the price he bought it, £10.00
Redrow has made millions from his £10.00 investment.
He should pass the opportunity on, then we would find a buyer quickly and next season have some prospects.
As it is, we will just continue the doom and gloom…
Your naive…..!
I agree with Allen, Ben Rasmin, Thomas and everyone who thinks that KJ is not the villain here. Sadly, I even find myself disagreeing with my good mate StuWolf. Yes, I too want to see a settled team, with Mason playing. I think that Mason and Zyro are good buys. However, unless there is someone excellent waiting in the wings, there is nothing much to be gained by firing Jackett. As someone said, 2 good seasons and one poor one is not terrible. We do need a new owner and a new CEO. Jackett can then make his case for a new contract. Morgan, and pretty much Morgan alone is the one to blame for his lack of investment, his petulance and lack of desire. Someone else said he should sell for £10. What has thwarted a sale so far is his greed and inability to let go and move on. I am not a violent or vindictive soul I hope, but if we ever meet in a dark alley, I cannot guarantee that I would be civil. I just wish he would cut an run. Macca is our best passer, he should play. The thing that angers me about Jackett is his habit of antagonising his players. Macca, Golbourne, Dicko, Afobe, Jacobs and those are only the ones I remember.
Well said Allen .. My sentiments entirely . Although I am a McDonald and price in midfield fan , Mac got hauled off against Bristol as he was shite , I would however have maybe put him on in place of Seville as he looked to have overdone himself second half
I think with the players that we ve got to come back .. Graham on the left zyro on the right , mason behind Dicko , we should romp it next season . Price and Mac in midfield . Cody for more defensive games , I even think Saville s looking like he’s a good footballer . Back four look fine and with Williamson to come in and probably take the armband …. I think that things will look better soon

Over the last few months, due to circumstances beyond my control, I have done a great many cryptic crossword puzzles and a great deal of reading. Including some books with no pictures – Impressive Eh?
One particular tome, which I’ve just finished, is ‘The Boys from the Black Country’ by Mark Gold. A fan’s history of Wolverhampton Wanderers. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable read and I recommend it to anyone who has any feeling for our great club.
The troubling thing is, reading the history, are we a great club?
We certainly were when we were beating the cream of Europe back in the fifties.
And for a short time in the late sixties and early seventies, we were one of the top teams in the country. A match for any side on our day.
Since then, for most of the time, we’ve been living off that history.
“Massive club”…”Sleeping Giant”…”Belongs in the Premier League”
But realistically we haven’t challenged for any major trophy for decades and if you took our average finishing position in the English Football Leagues over the last forty years, I would think that we would end up about twelfth in the second tier.
I’ve not done the exact maths but a quick check on statto.com would seem to support my rough workings.
Twelfth in the second tier.
Exactly where we are now.
I, like every contributor on this blog, am desperate for us to get back to the days when we could mix it with the top clubs on a level (and very muddy) playing field.
But it’s been a long time chaps.
And realistically to break into that sort of company now and sustain a challenge would take a change of seismic proportions – New owner, new CEO, new manager, new playing staff…. New ground?
If that happens, it’ll be the same old fans who will be there to support, cheer, moan and generally criticise the running of the club.
I wonder if any of us will live to see it?
Agree with a lot of what you say DOOGooder but please don’t even think about new ground or before we know it there’ll be a thousand Redrow homes on the Moli and one of the few clubs still playing their football close to the town centre will be exiled to some soulless out-of-town industrial estate.
I certainly don’t want us to leave Molineux.
Too many memories and too much history.
But rich owners seem to want 50-60,000 seater stadia to capitalise on their investment.
I don’t see the present site being able to cope.
Nice post DG – I’ve read the book.
I think a lot of us are of a similar age and can remember the better times. It is those times, those European glory nights that I remember my Wolves by. They were one of the best, if not the very best club side in the world at that time. At least I believe that to be the case and results support me. Rightly or wrongly that is my yardstick. I want to see us in the premiership jousting with the likes of the City’s and Uniteds and if Leicester can do it, (or Swansea or Stoke or Watford or Bournemouth or those f*ckers up the road), then why can’t we?
I want to see some ambition Doog. I want to see the passion of the fans matched by that of the board. They are the ones who have let us down. I want to see us at least trying to compete. Sorry but I can’t settle for terminal mediocrity. Winning the third division means nothing to me.
On the other hand perhaps I need to accept that things have changed as Bobby D said they would – although I don’t remember Wolves being mentioned in his song. The thing is I can’t accept that we are not, at least potentially, still one of the biggest clubs in the country and it freekin hurts to see us as we are now – totally rudderless. To all intents and purposes our season was over in early September when we failed to strengthen.
I can’t argue with a word that you say mate.
Ambition backed by the will and the dosh to see it through are what is required.
Not much to ask, Eh?
Well if tnat’s tne case lets go for 2 x 35,000 seaters then, but make the second one close to the forst our beloved Molineux.
🙂
I dunno about Ding Lei making a reappearence on the scene, I think he’s writing my bleedin blogs.
They never look like this 1 second before I press “post comment”
Sorry Kenny but after yesterday I am now voting for Jackettexit as well as Morganexit, Moxeyexit and Thelwellexit.
Against a decidedly average and toothless Birmingham side you picked a team designed not to lose. At home. Again. Leaving McDonald, Mason and Zyro on the bench was appalling. Our entire starting XI had scored the grand total of 8 goals between them all season – and 4 of those had come from defenders! Meanwhile on the bench we had two players who have only been here 5 minutes and yet have already scored almost as many.
As if that wasnt bad enough you then take off our right winger to bring on a striker (who was signed as a winger) and then move the striker (I use the term loosely as I think if Sigurdason ever scores a goal I will most likely keel over with a coronary) to play right wing. Meanwhile sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs was………….a right winger. Unusual that Kenny!
In fairness to Kenny though he then evened things up by taking off our left winger and replacing him with a striker (or whatever Mason is – I know you don’t know Kenny) in order that God knows who could then play left wing. Great tactics Ken! Meanwhile on the bench twiddling his thumbs was a left winger (Ok I know it was Tommy Rowe and he is shite but even so…….!).
Meanwhile McDonald, the one and only creative midfielder we have sat on the bench twiddling his thumbs for the whole 90 minutes. Imagine what he must have been thinking watching the hapless and hopeless Saville strolling around like an arse and thinking to himself that the manager picks that bloke over me!
One bright spark for me was Conor Coady who continues to improve and despite quite a bit of negative press especially on here is proving an asset. He may not win any pries for the most cultured of footballers but he runs almost non-stop, tackles like he means it and actually looks like he cares. He also had two efforts saved in the first half, played some good balls over the top and made a sensational last ditch tackle in the second half about 2 years out from the goal line.
Continue to hope and pray that Morgan, Moxey, Thelwell and Jackett clear off and soon.
Completely agree Bedford..
Jacket is just not up to
Managing the players as in the right team choice
Tactics and motivating them to improve..
K Mac particularly has had to bear the fickleness
Of him and after settling down again with a new contract had to endure the status of a sub.
Mason must be perplexed at also being a benchwarmer as in the past when he does come on he scores!
Zyro is being physically nurtured apparently but
the medical staff says he should play.,
Confusion surrounds this man..I’d hate to be a passenger in his car at a T junction ..
It makes everyone so despondent…
Moyce to the rescue …
It still might be a train coming the otherway.
I’m sure each one of us on this blog and most who attend games would love to see Siggy score a goal; he certainly deserves one based upon his efforts. However satisfying it would be to see him score, let’s be honest, it’s not going to change anything – he’s not going to change into a prolific striker overnight and we may well have to wait a couple more years for his next goal, It’s not as if he gets close or has all his shots saved by lucky keepers; he doesn’t shoot, he doesn’t hold up the ball in the area for others and he is not winning all these long high balls we seem to be relying on again. So if we can all see this, why does Kenny keep playing him?
Blimey. Bring on August. Another win should do it. I think most folk will put up with KJ starting next season (billionaire take over excepted) so in that respect he probably has until November when the goodwill finally runs out
If it ay lookin good. As an interesting aside from the molineux boredom if you had a pet dog what would you call it? I would call mine Keith.
I’d call mine Offenbach.
But that would open a whole new Can Can of worms.
Mine got into some real tasty scraps, so I called it HelenBach.
I’d call mine Pat, in memory of the first pet we ever had as kids, apart from my pet worm Norman.
Mum and Dad came home one night after me mother had finished on the game in Wolvo up Raby street, me dad was her pimp, I came from a big family, me mum had 11 kids all from different fathers.
They brought us a dog a little Heinz 57 puppy. It only lasted 4 days and then died a terrible death, well with 11 kids we patted the poor dog to death.
I’m only kidding, it’s not true.
I didn’t have a pet worm called Norman.
Brilliant stu. I had a pet worm. It was called Sharon.
I mentioned that because, I was once trying to put a worm back in the hole and My Grandad showed me a neat trick. He hit the worm with a hammer and it was stunned and went rigid then he just pushed it down the hole.
Two days later I was stunning all the worms I could and my Nan and Grandad were upstairs, my brother came out a said, “Quick, nan wants that hammer”
I really do apologise in advance, but I think it’s funny.
Kenny Jackett has bought a dog, Mans best friend and all that.
I once came across a greenfly called Derek. Fuckin great really.
I had a pet newt.
His name was Tiny, coz he was my newt.
I got a dog, his name Blacksmith, coz every time I kick him up the arse, he makes a bolt for the door.
I gotta slug.
He talks.
Thank you, Monty Python Dead Parrot sketch.

Border Wolf and PeakWolf, thanks very much for your messages of support – much appreciated.
Border Wolf, you have a very talented hubby… that must be unique for a tractor boy musn’t it?
Glad it arrived safely. Yep he does have his uses, I let him off being a tractor boy as he can’t help where he was born plus he comes from a cricketing family so I had to educate him! I think he’s a closet Wolves fan really!
I saw the preview, Border.
Absolutely Bostin’!!
Talk to Stu about my suggestion for more.
Glad you liked it Clive. Just thought it was something a bit different!
A pretty little girl, skipping through the woods with her lovely little dog on a beautiful Spring morning meets the vicar coming the other way. “Good morning little girl, such a lovely day”, he says, ” what’s your name?”. “Petal”, she replies. “What a lovely name. Why did your parents choose such a lovely name?”. “Because when I was conceived a petal from a cherry tree landed on my mummy’s tummy” she explained. “How lovely says the vicar, “and such a lovely little dog. What’s his name?”. “Porky”, says the little girl. “That’s unusual” said the reverend, “why Porky?”. “Cos he shags pigs!”.
Fuck off Albion
Judging from the latest comments on this blog either we need something apart from WWFC to talk about or the tablets must be running out
Well the latest is McDonald and Jackett are at loggerheads, with talk of McDonald moving on.
Me I’d much rather be telling stupid stories than think about that scenario, that one would be a bummer.
I can’t imagine that Macca will want to stay on, sadly. Another KJ bust-up casualty
Well 3 weeks on Sunday the cricket season kicks off and i will be on tour to New Road Worcester. Always a good day out. Loads of boozers. And they let you in the ground with 4 cans of lager. Always a chance to give warwickshire a bit of grief an all. Sad really cos i would av loved wolves to have bin up there round at least play offs. But hey! Life goes on and there is always beer .
Anyone know what sort of numbers have bought their Early Birds? The Club has been deathly quiet on the subject so am guessing it’s embarrassingly low – and rightly so. Communication and the current Wolves hierarchy don’t exactly go together as we know.
I think KJ is doing the best he can with limited resources. When you think of the goals/ assists we have lost from the team (Sako, Dicko, Afobe, Henry, Edwards, Jordan Graham) it’s no wonder he wants to just simply not concede as we don’t look like scoring more than 1 or 2 goals if we play openly, especially with our inexperienced defenders EEL and KH, so we’re sacrificing Mason right now. We need Williamson back in to solidify and that will take pressure off the midfield who can then be more creative. Then we’d see Zyro and Mason up front with Henry/Byrne/ and Graham (next season, what a prospect!)/Helan as wingers and KMac freed up to do what he does best..I also think while KMac is great offensively he doesn’t do enough defensively and that’s what we need unfortunately right now because of the central defensive weaknesses, we will not outscore the oppo (see QPR, Leeds, all the lost points from winning positions). We have to remember how young the team is and how Morgan and Moxey have made things difficult for KJ too.
Last Saturday Mrs BW and I visited a posh women’s clothes shop on the hunt for a ‘mother of the groom’ outfit as our eldest son Daryl (based in Dubai but Wolves through and through) gets wed on 4 August in Liverpool. He doesn’t know it but I have arranged for Steve Bull to attend the reception as a special surprise for him.
Anyway after about an hour and a half and endless outfits having been tried on and rejected Mrs BW finally settled on an outfit that was suitably impressive – her aim was to get something that would outshine all them Scousers who I am convinced she thinks will turn up at the wedding in shell-suits.
Having sorted the outfit then she had to get a hat or fascinator (or something I now know is called a hatinator – a cross between the two apparently). The hat designer was actually at the shop having travelled down from Manchester as the shop was holding a big fashion show though we didn’t know this when we went there. The hat lady was a pleasant enough woman in her early 50’s and after adjusting the hat thing on Mrs BW’s head – it did look good and matched the outfit though I dare not ask the price! – she asked me what I thought. Just at that moment I was checking the football scores on my phone. Now my phone has a Wolves cover on it with ‘Out of darkness cometh light’ emblazoned on it. Seeing my phone the lady said “you’re not a Wolves fan are you?” Yes I replied, why? The lady looked a bit sheepish and said “I support the Baggies!” What! You support WHO? I told Mrs BW to get the hat off but she just smiled knowingly and ignored me.
Turns out the woman was originally from Dudley and her and her husband has been season ticket holders at the Poorthorns for more than 25 years but had recently seen the error of their ways and instead devoted their time to following England home and away, had been to the Brazil World Cup and were going to all the England games at the upcoming Euros (well all three games at least).
How strange. On a Saturday in a small posh village on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire borders here were a Wolves fan and a Shadow Dweller talking football in a women’s clothes shop having been brought together by a hatinator. As we left, almost £1,000 poorer, I shook the hat lady’s hand and said “Thank you. Thank you so much”. She looked pleased but a little surprised at my show of gratitude. ” Not for the hat” I said, “for giving us Steve Bull”. Wolves 1 Scum 0. Mrs BW just sighed, shook her head and motioned for me to go.
Nice one Bedford.
Congrats to your lad!
And bully for you for the surprise guest.
You DO know that he will probably be a surprise no longer.
Either Daryl will read your blog or one of us will blab – none of us can keep a secret!
Will you be wearing a new Wolves shirt or the traditional old gold one to the ceremony?
I suppose, as it’s in Liverpool, the away shirt would be the correct etiquette.
Thank you. No away shirt needed though as the future daughter in law is from a staunch Everton family and in fact her Dad Bill is named after Evertonian legend William ‘Dixie’ Dean. Fancy naming your son after a footballer! I must mention that to my two youngest boys Steve & Andy sometime!
Here’s the latest E&S ‘Spot the deliberate mistake’ competition.

I tried to upload a screen shot but I keep getting the error message.
Anyone know why this is?
