Just before we get stuck into the Charlton preview, there’s just about time to squeeze in a competition courtesy of our friends at Savile Rogue.

Savile Rogue scarves give a nod to football terraces of yesteryear, shunning in-your-face logos and cheap nylon in favour of a traditional bar design and the comfort, quality and warmth of top grade wool. It’s the sort of scarf you would be happy to wear even when you’re not at the match.
They’ve once again teamed up with Wolves Blog to offer our readers the chance of getting their hands on one of these gold and black beauties.

To win this luxury Wolves cashmere scarf simply complete the following sentence in a comment below:
I deserve the scarf because…
I’ll pick the best answer at midday tomorrow (Friday 26th) and announce the winner in a post.
The competition is open globally, so whether you’re living in Wolverhampton or Rwanda (yes, we’ve had visits from there) you’re welcome to enter.
Good luck!

I am a poor student who needs to show our clubs colours round campus! Oh and to keep my neck warm. UP THE WOLVES!
You lose – cos you are meant to start with “I deserve the scarf because …”
I would love to have a wolves scarve like this as I am a young supporter. At age 14 with a disability and go to every home match.it will be looked after well and I have to mention fav player is johnson
I deserve the scarf because…
There’s nothing like having a scarf in Australia!
…UTW!
I deserve the scarf because, much like famous Wolves fan Robert Plant, I love a bit of Kashmir
I deserve the scarf because…. I live up north and it’s bloody cold up here! Also would be an easy tool to use describe the difference between Wolves Gold and Hull (vomit) yellow.
I deserve the scarf because…I live even further up north…where its even colder…and the native football is trash. A Scarf of such unparalleled quality would simply by its being worn convert the footballing heathens of Central Scotland! No more dirty blue…or vomit inspiring green and white north of the tree line!!!
Make me a Wolves messiah here in the badlands!!!
UTW!!!!
I deserve the scarf because I’m a college student in New York, and I’m originally from a desert in the Southwestern-most part of California. As you could imagine, I’ve been freezing my butt off and it’s not even winter yet. I also think that the scarf would be nice to show around and with it I can tell the story of how I became a Wolves fan. Afterall, not everyone knows Wolves, and perhaps some people will be inclined to follow them more closely…
It would look great with my Saville Row suit & Rolex watch.
I’ve worn a Wolves scarf to nearly every game in the last 33 years and yearn for the pre sponsor, logo & nylon scarves…..not the “silk” ones of the 70’s mind. If it’s old gold & black it’ll be like Christmas come early. UTW
you’d be a fool not too, FACT!
I deserve the scarf because today, the 25th, IS Clivemas, the celebration of all things Clive. Yes, no bullshit, today is the 61st time I’ve woke up singing happy birthday to myself.
And, I am better looking than anyone else on this blog, and extremely modest to boot.
And I’m number 1 blog contributor, even though 99% is bollocks!!
FOwb
99% is certainly bollocks, the other 1% is mere tosh.
Why did the b*gg*e take the scarf back to the store?
It was too tight.
I deserve a wolves scarf because my throat is sore from cheering them on!
I deserve this scarf because …….
It will help keep me warm and comfortable whilst waiting on the Warrington train platform every week to travel and cheer on the Wolves.
I deserve a wolves scarf as I’m from Australia and one of the only people that support them in my area. Everyone else supports Man Utd or Chelsea ect. Iv’ve stayed loyal since I started following football.
I deserve the scarf because …….. I just do.
I deserve the scarf because ……. I have asked twice
I NEED that scarf because someone nicked mine at the 1974 League Cup final.
Do you want it back?
I need the scarf because the one I nicked at the 1974 League Cup Final has worn out!
I deserve the scarf because …… I dont have one, and I have asked three times now
I deserve the scarf because ………. I might be one of only a few who has had a pint brought for him by Hibbit, McCalliog, Dougan, Kindon, Richards, Mutch and many more when the Wolves Social club was open. I also helped my bro at the door (he was a bouncer), and I have supported the Wolves since 1969 and NEVER had a scarf. As I had served in the Army for 34 years I never could realistically be a season ticket holder, but attended games EVERY time I was on leave. I supported them through thick and thin – especially when they were in the old 4th Division, and have never once complained about them playing poorly – always postive about the Wolves, MY Wolves, My Life. And ………. I have asked four times now. Come on me Babbies.
I deserve the scarf because….the scarf deserves I
Dear Sir,
All is well I hope.
My father and I have been loyal Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters since day one for english football to be televised in Sweden. We go back to 1969 and the match between Wolves and Sunderland. Wolves won 1-0, goal by Hugh Curran. I was 11 years old. Black and white TV broadcast. My heart was lost to the Molineux men forever. Together with my father I have shared the history of Wolves from then to now. Out of darkness cometh light have been our motto for life. The scarf would be a perfect gift to my father who has guided me through my life.
Take care.
Best wishes
Peter
I was at that match. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end…(just shows what we know !)
I`d like the scarf, not for myself as my scarf says Premier Wolves, and i`ll wear it until we get back there…ever the optimist moi.
No I`d like the scarf so I can send it to my best mate Clive from Houston, it will save me buying him a Christmas present, and Clive can wear the scarf over the Wolves T -Shirt I sent him for his birthday.
So Happy Birthday Clive – please continue your legendary blog contributions, in particular continuing your love affair with our beloved left back. I`ll call you when I get home tonight, so don`t start on the Boddingtons `til I`ve rung !!
Thats a good point, I deserve the scarf so I can give it to my dad for his birthday present!
I deserve the scarf because nobody should have to listen to my mother in law indefinitely.
i deserve the scarf because my daughter went 2 her 1st ever match with her dad this season 2 watch Crystal Palace, she was awestruck with the stadium, atmosphere even the half-time hotdog!! she has since become an avid wolves fan, even tho we lost, she wud love one as a surprise xmas pressie!!! 🙂
I deserve the scarf because I won last year’s preddo league guessing game.
So there!
I deserve the scarf because….. its Wolves and they are my colours. The colours I like to wear with passion and pride.
I deserve the scarf because, to quote Martin Luther Kind, I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed and every man shall have a cashmere luxury Wolves scarf; starting with Charlie.
Martin Luther King* Woops
I deserve the scarf because my tooth hurts and my piles have burst.
Give it to Scarfer just for his name, I say.
I would like to wrap the scarf round Moxeys neck so he can see what Old Gold and
Black look like.
Luxury Scarf……talk t’me.
Thomas, I think it should go to you or Ben for the great job you do on this blog.
I think Steppenwolfe should win!
I deserve the scarf because I hate Albi*n
I deserve the scarf because like Wolves I haven’t won anything worth talking about since 1980
I deserve the scarf because I once went on a wanking sabatical as I once thought masturbation was inextricably linked with Wolves being wank.
I also got paranoid that the habit was a common known thing as every away set of fans regularly used to sing ‘wanky wanderers.’
So we went on a winning run of 4 games…
Then we lost to Crystal Palace the other week and i got back on the Kleenex.
Ok, I made the last bit up but the rest is fact, from about the 1993 season!
Ben, you naughty boy!
I don’t quite understand why being a wanker should entitle you to a Wolves scarf.
If that were the case all Baggies supporters would wear one!!!!
I deserve the scarf because a woollen scarf would make me a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
I deserve the wonderful wolves scarf, because the one i have is old and tatty and i’ve had it since 1959, its full of holes and its been washed so many times the colours have faded so badly its starting to get so embarassing with our kindly fans offering me their childrens scarfs on a very very cold winters day.so the scarf will be just the job to hide and keep my scraggy neck warm this coming winter..
I deserve the scarf because if it’s around my neck, the prophecy will be complete and we will never lose again.
I deserve the scarf because i can get my girlfriend to wear it along with her wolves shirt while im knockin…….
I deserve a scarf because without it my neck will get cold.
I deserve this scarf because……. I am so skint at the moment after buying season tickets for the family and a mascot package for my daughter the only clothes I’ve got to wear are a pair of smelly y-fronts and the cold Weather is here and a nice scarf would be appreciated to keep me warm this winter.
I deserve the scarf because……….(now writing on behalf of my 6 year old son) It was Team Spirit Day at my primary school today in Richmond Virginia, and I knew all my friends would be wearing Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, Chelsea, Man United and Barcellona stuff. But I put on my full Wolves strip, right down to my socks, and told my dad…”if anyone says anything bad about The Wolves, I’ll sing them Stevie Bull’s a Tatter, He wears an England Cap”
Oh, and my son gets the scarf not me.
Is there bonus prediction league points available if we guess the winner??
I deserve this scarf because my girlfriend still insist Wolves play in orange!
“Told ya dear, it’s called OLD GOLD!!!”
Bedroom happiness ensues…
I deserve the scarf because I wore my scarf for the first time this season against Bolton and it had been in my cloakroom cupboard for a number of months. It stank of cat p*ss, maybe because it was wet when I hung it up many months ago. Despite this, I still wore the pongy scarf with pride and cheered the boys on to a frustrating 2-2 draw. My mate also said that my scarf smelt like my house, which was deeply offensive and I haven’t slept since through the shame. If I could have a lovely new posh scarf like the one advertised, I could banish all thoughts of my wee smelling scarf and slanderous comments of my house also smelling of wee.
I deserve the scarf because my Aunt Phyllis lived with my Great Aunt Minnie in Burland Avenue, Tettenhall, when Billy Wright lived in digs in the same road and she got me the autographs of the team and the scarf will look good on me when I’m dining out on this story.
I just noticed that my email shows as bkueyonder it should be blueyonder of course
I deserve the scarf because I rang my mate Clive from Houston to wish him happy birthday. Clive tells me the T Shirt I bought him actually fits perfectly. Well the pressure is off because a scarf will fit any shape or size, and i`ve had all the stress and worry wondering whether the XXXL T Shirt from the wolves club shop would fit.
Will you pay the postage to Houston for me if I win the prize Thomas?
Clive should get it Thomas because I didnt send him a card for his 81st birthday & he might just forgive me if I can take the credit for him winning it!
Plus he def would wear it with pride in Houston & it’d go well with his black and gold truck!
Hi Thomas. There are 2 reasons why I should win this scarf
1. I still use the Wolves scarf I had for my birthday in 1977 – it’s getting a little worn and like me it needs to retire.
2. I live in Alberta, Canada and winter is upon us already with snow everywhere. It’s also bloody cold here and regularly reaches -35°C. Last years coldest day was -46°C !!! So I need that scarf to replace my old one and to help keep these old bones warm!
I’ll even save you the postage – send it to my Mother and she’ll look after it until I visit at Xmas – what a fabulous gift that would be for me to wear when I take my son to his first ever game on January 12!
I deserve the scarf because… my other scarf is a sock.
I deserve the scarf because id use it to string jez moxey up, until he spent the money to buy a left back
Sure you are not Clive from Houston in disguise
Ain’t we all when the derogatives “Moxey” and “left back” get a mention?
I deserve the scarf cos is been mentioned “I’ve a neck like a jockeys bollocks”!
I deserve this scarf because I’ve had the neck to support Wolves for 40 years and it’s getting cold!
I deserve the scarf because…I have stoically endured years of ridicule from wife, kids and even the dog for wearing my manky old scarf out on the streets.
I deserve the scarf because Hamlet who should really get it hasnt entered the competition,
I deserve the scarf because l’ve actually read all the posts above ..and l want to declare my love for you all…especially our wonderful judge Thomas .
UTW
On second thoughts I think Clive should get the scarf…
As long as he comes to the Molineux for the presentation.
I think that is very magnimouse of you, offering to have a whip round for my airfare.
Offer accepted!!
after the comma sentence should have finished – to be or not to be that is the question.
I deserve the scarf because, a true Wolves fan at birth I was,
I’m 18 years old and doing fine since I started watching in 99,
Back in the days of Colin Lee, who’d release upon teams Ade Akinbiyi,
But Colin found himself on his own, when he was replaced with Davey Jones,
In 01/02 despite goal machine Sturridge, Pain was delivered at the hands of Norwich,
A play-off semi-final defeat, many expected the Wolves to retreat,
But magic was delivered just one year on, lead by Paul Ince, the new Molineux don,
There was just no way Jones would be getting the sack, with Joleon Lescott, our rock at the back,
With Miller and Cameron and Alex Rae, our scottish maestro’s leading the way,
3-0 up at half time put Sheff. U out of sight, once again gold and back would be in the top flight,
But misery was once again to come, we were bottom at Christmas, most knew we were done,
But then Sir Alex took his boys to Molineux, where Miller banged in the winner, 3 points, who knew?
But despite a famous 4-3 comeback against Leicester, we were left at the bottom of the league to fester,
Dragging them down with us, along with Leeds, once again the Wolves found themselves in need,
With Dave Jones out, Hoddle took to the reigns, but 9th and 7th league finishes just left more pain,
Enter Magic Mick McCarthy and life was not so glum, until a heart breaking play-off defeat in both legs to the scum,
07/08 began and we just didn’t seem awake, although a star seemed to be born in Sylvain Ebanks-Blake,
Hi Ho Wolverhampton just wasn’t sung as loudly, and once again Wolves didn’t make the play-offs, not too proudly,
But then something happened, Mick answered all our prayers, Molineux was bouncing, there was victory in the air,
A mighty league victory for Karl Henry and co, with SEB and Iwelumo netting to and fro,
We were back, and this time things were going our way, 15th in the League, we were here to stay,
Steven Fletcher, Kevin Doyle, Jarvo and Kightly, once again Wolverhampton Wanderers were mighty,
But then things got scary, and on the last day we were stressed, 3-1 down to Blackburn, but then….Stephen Hunt…Top Left!!!
That man from Ireland had saved us, we were back for another year, but sadly that was to be it, as the Championship calling we could hear,
A 5-0 loss to the Inbred lot was enough to see off Mick, enter terry Connor, he had a lot to do and quick,
But being thrown in the deep end was too much for our gold men, and as for the football league ladder, down a rung we went,
But don’t be fooled, we’re not done yet, keep fighting is a must, I still have faith and proudly sing, “In Solbakken we trust”
