I’m not sure what sound would have sickened me more this month…
…The smash of Roger Johnson’s empty whiskey bottle on the floor, or Jez Moxey’s subsequent interview on talkSPORT, where supporters were treated like the alcoholics for daring to aspire for better.
With this season’s prospects already entering the last chance saloon, we could have done without our skipper swigging back the booze with more gusto than a man marking exercise.
But what really rubbed my face in the slop bucket was our chief executive’s marginally less uncouth attempt to marginalise the stone cold sober Wolves fans still clinging on to the notion of ‘aspiration.’
While taking great glee in using Porstmouth and Rangers as a yardstick upon how football clubs should not be run, Jez was quicker than Junior Hoillet in dispatching a chance to tell us to like our lot, or lump it.
To presume we are all intoxicated enough to advocate going bankrupt for some light relief is insulting enough.
But not nearly as insulting as slapping his own back by saying he ‘plans for every eventuality at the club’, only to admit this week that he’s still learning his lessons.
The snake oil salesman would like to think that he has got more things right than wrong in his time at the club, apparently.
Presumably his £3.5 million Premier League war chest to David Jones in 2003 was one of them, at the same time he himself was awarded a £2.1 million bonus?
Perhaps I should sit starry eyed at the great man’s superior business acumen like Alan Brazil and Ronnie Irani did on talkSPORT the other week, and thank my lucky stars his name is not Peter Ridsdale.
I possibly could, if he hadn’t said in 2009: “If you look at West Brom, maybe they’re not paying enough to their players or getting the right quality in.
“Having been there and spoken to people in the Premier League, it’s fair to say money is the be-all and end-all. So you’ve got to be competitive.”
Hard to forget quotes like that when our same CEO told Craig Gardner, Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye’s agents to find their clients other clubs instead of ours this season – for demanding wages we wouldn’t match.
The same man who gloated that ‘league placings correlate to wage bills.’
The same superior businessman who confirmed that Jack Hayward wrote off £40 million debt as a goodwill gesture when leaving the club – much of which accrued under his watch.
Throw in a farcical managerial search that would not result in a novice, an abortion of a stadium redevelopment – the first stand signed off three days before last season’s Survival Sunday – and an asset stripping of our threadbare squad (anyone see Guedioura last night?) and I’d argue that Jez Moxey barely gets a single thing right, let alone wrong.
Maybe I should just meekly surrender to the great man’s contempt and wait for the next spoonful of spin when his next programme notes hit the shelves.
Or maybe I should just order what Roger Johnson’s been on and become the pisshead that our CEO obviously thinks I am.

Spot on ! R I P Wolves
A1 Wolf, we all agree with the above well written blog. But i must take issue and say RIP Wolves never!!! But RIP Premier League Wolves (for maybe a little longer than most think!). 🙁
Griffiths nutting the Hibs manager now too….the Wolves Soap Opera continues.
Everyone use every chance you’ve got to get in this fat greasball’s face and protest…do not rest until these muppets take action to sort this mess out!
Time is of the essence!
Thats great news! Another player, like Davies, can get his breaktrough if he’s good enough in Connor’s eyes. We a speedy player around Fletcher central. Maybe it can be Griffiths?
Too true, the wheels have come off just at the wrong time. We’ve given Blackburn a boost just when they needed it as well. Nothing but three points against both Norwich and Bolton will do now, due due to our April fixture list.
We can all feel better in the knowledge that Moxey will get his bonus at the end of the season no matter what the result. The funding’s safe because we spent next to nothing in January and have made a packet loaning out two of our better squad players.
Well said Ben ..
It’s high time we took a long hard look at his performance during office and to back track on some of the wonderful shit (Sorry Spin) that he has fed us.
You’re touching the tip of the iceberg with this blog ..
He’s accused us ALL of being fickle.
Asked us ALL to eat humble pie.
Defended decisions that to ALL of those with any sense can see he’s talking crap.
He’s LIED to ALL of us and The MEDIA. (Colin Lee’s departure)
He PROMISED that we would progress as a club.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE DAY THAT HE BOGS OFF FROM OUR CLUB. (OR BETTER STILL GETS SACKED) .. He’s a total waste of money.
So its all down to Moxey is it. Nothing to do with the McCarthy legacy ? In my opinion the catalyst for this season was the signing of Johnson. We were in free fall since the start of September and nothing was done to address the obvious problems. Quite simple really, Morgan should have acted at the same time that Sunderland ditched Bruce. We are all feeling hurt and let down and fault lies with both Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey but the major culprit is Mick McCarthy and his Championship standard players.
Players signed because of Moxey mid-championship wage structure. Have you read the list of players we missed out on Onuaha, Gardner, Demba Ba, Cabaye, Bertrand all premiership players all rejected because they would cost too much in wages. Mick made a lot of mistakes but considering the conditions he was working under transfers wasn’t one of them he got some quality players for comparative peanuts.
And our wage bill is disproportionately low to Moxey’s huge salary, which goes grate.
I have heard that the club simply presumed that Swansea and Norwich would go down and have internally acknowledged they got that wrong (according to a reporter in the know). This is where the football acumen of a chief director is so necessary, particularly when the owner is so heavily guided by it.
Even with hindsight, we could see a Premier League cakewalk to be unlikely after last season’s 3 minute warning.
Some humility would have been a start, but to throw examples of Portsmouth and Rangers in our faces is crass – particularly in the context of the shambles all around.
I don’t need to look that far afield for an example of how a football club should be run – I drive past it on the A41 most mornings…
Sorry Sheffield I have not read this list of players we missed out on. Was it published by the club ? Does it provide details of what was offered ? Is from a reliable source ?
Whilst there are no formal lists, obviously the same as Molineux PR, saying we only offered the job to one manager and TC was our second choice. But they are based on players who were available and that Mick expressed an interest in via interviews. Gardner is the most obvious one with Mick trying to get him two or three times. Ba was offered by his agent to a few clubs including Wolves as was Cabaye.
McCarthy at Wigan is another, Sidwell (although that was due to location too I think), Adam Johnson is another we pursued… imagine if we’d snatched him!
Of course Not .. I was commenting on the blog .. You’re right for many reasons about MM and Moxey .. Although Morgan has accountability he’s a busy bloke, with many other business interests, which is why he trusted Moxey to run WWFC… and why it’s gone tits up !
It’s all gone tits up hasn’t it….
I notice Guediora started the goal feast for Forest last night…..if only we had a midfielder like that…
Plus at least one assist! He’s doing what Kightly did in Watford, playing himself in form. Unlike Kightly we know Guedioura can perform in premier at a regular basis when he is in form.
I’d add also that he’s benefiting from the increased time on the ball, lesser quality defenders and lower fitness levels of the championship. He is a good impact player at our level, but the way some people wax lyrical about him on this blog you’d think he was Messi and Viera combined! That said I’d still rather have him in the squad rather than on loan. Same goes for Hammil and just about for Elokobi our squad was threadbare before they left let alone now with the injuries we had.
We know that AG can perform on a regular basis when in form. Interesting.
Morgan got off rather lightly here. Yes Moxey runs the business side, but his hands are tied by whatever our great owner gives him to work with. The same in 2003. I imagine he didn’t decide how much he got as a bonus and how much went to Dave Jones. But of course, he must think we’re all idiots how often he contradicts himself.
Agree Rich. Maybe another blog in that. Although if I write it, I’ll have the old accusation that I glorify in all this, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I just want some professionalism and respect restored to the club.
Some more humility from the top brass might be a start, including Morgan, instead of this dogmatic arrogance that they know what’s best. (as seen in Pat Murphy’s interview with JM at the Connor appointment)
Also, funny how Connor was NOT a novice, yet Jez now says he can have some help?! Words fail me…
Sorry state.. There is a light somewhere at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully, it is the next few games.
Jez Moxey should be hung, drawn and quartered, in front of the South Bank at the next home game.
It is quite ‘mind blowing’ the absolute arrogance and mickey taking by the CEO at Wolves, of the paying public.
He is supposed to be paid to ‘serve’ the fans, not dictate to them.
It is Brechtian ‘Theatre of the Absurd’ and it makes Morgan look like an imbecile.
Arguing whether Guedioura is ‘better’ cos he’s in the championship is a side show to the main act of the tomfoolery of the so called ‘board.’
With such chaos at the top no wonder the players don’t perform and RJ turns to the whiskey bottle & on that note, I shall roll myself another one and contemplate our life next season!
Great blog Ben…..,
A little bit of perspective on here would be nice.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2117071/Wolves-Chief-Jez-Moxey-calls-perspective-relegation-threatened-club.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
I have taken up the early bird offer, HAVE YOU?
Using Jez Moxey quotes from The Daily Mail ?
A new low, even for you Mr Shotton
we will continue to fail due to the wage structure .whilst i admire our wage structure all it does is deny this great club any chance of success..its the reason i hate the the premier league more than moxey..it kills all chance of any club outside the current top six EVER enjoying winning everything..remember birmingham? its just an exclusive club with no money filtering down through the leagues….
There’s an awful lot of Torbett in Brazil
Good blog. With regards to Edward Shotton what is buying your Early Bird got to do with anything? Do you consider yourself to be a superior human being because you have bought your EB?
In these hard times people need to budget more carefully so if you are in a position where you can afford an EB ticket then best of luck to you but it does NOT make you a better, more loyal supporter of the club but rather a more arrogant obnoxious one.
There are other thing than football in life, perhaps you have not reached that stage of maturity yet.
well put stephen….the only way things will change is by relieving obnxious moxey of his guaranteed holiday fund!!
this club has become an absolute joke …..are the fans the only ones that can see it? connor doesnt need a hand…players headbutting their manager…players getting drunk and bemoaning not getting picked…..it reads like a comic dont it?at least we all knewwhat the bhatti brothers were about but this lot!!can the last one please turn the light out !!
I agree with Edward on this, I have enjoyed what Jez and Steve have made possible for us over the last 3 seasons and they have my support as we regroup and aim to come back up. We just have to realise that as fans we do not know the full challenges and intricacies of running a multi million pound football club! We beat Chelsea, Man U and Man City last season, what more do people want – we have 12,000 guaranteed fans, we are not a big club and fans are deluded if they think we are going to be anything more than this level! UTW
Deluded? But Moxey and Morgan told us we’d be pushing for Europe in a few years?
As for the intricacies of running a multi million pound football club, they can’t even get basics like recruitment of the correct staff right?!
Both you and Shotton need to stop looking at Moxey like he’s a cut above, the guy is a fucking fraud who’s lucked out a million pound a year gig.
FOJM
well said taflag..hes the sort of numpty in the 70 s with make up on and a gold medallion he bought with the money the club foolishly paid him
Stoke employed Moxey before us.
They sacked him and went from being a mid table championship team to promotion and have not left the Premiership yet.
It is unbelievable that Edward Shotton and the ‘Truth’ think what is happening is ok.
Have they no ambition?
Are they Moxey in disguise?
But we have not spent £100m on players like Stoke so you simply cannot compare just because Jez worked for them. The Icelandic owners got rid of Coates also and he has gone back and transformed the club with enormous investment. We just have to accept that we would not have the first clue of doing what Jez and Steve are doing and it is so easy to have a go at them but they are doing very well. We are a small club in the Midlands, with a low fan base, below average attendances who have had a small pot of the TV money since the prem has been in operation yet you moan and moan about Jez, yet he is an expert in what he does and we should trust him. I am confident we will come back stronger but we will yo yo for a while, it’s a fact of life for small clubs. I have renewed and Jez, Steve and Terry have my full support next season.
Good luck to you.
No doubt you we will be happy when Terry Connor manages the team in a couple of years against Hartlepool.
Personally think there is something wrong with your thinking machine if you can, in any way, see any good in the actions of the board post MM.
low fan base? didn’t we take 40k to Wembley when in Div 3? in fact, have you ever been to a pub outside wolves to watch a game? it’s very rare there’s not another wanderer in there. in fact, when we played fulham (an established prem club) I was in a pub in brighton (40 mins from london) and although there weren’t any fulham fans there, so close to home, there were 2 other wolves fans. how come they can stay up and we can’t if it’s all about fan base?
you’re obvs a troll mate, FO to the b*****s blog.
sleachy , try 55,000 supporters in the 4th division ! sherpa van trophy vs burnley who took 25,000 supporters , 8000 tickets for sponsors, guests, etc total att :88000 . larger than england attendances at the time ! wolverhampton was empty that day ! what a day man ! mutchy header and a robbie dennison direct free kick like beckham against greece at old trafford ! MAGIC !!!!!! FWAW
You are up there in the fuckin’ space station….totally off this planet!!!
This is a wind up? Nobody could be that stupid to post such crap.
Greaseball is being exposed for what he is & the noose is slowly but surely tightening.
FOJM
I think you will find we have a massive fan based passed down through generations from the success of the past also we near enough fill the ground every week compared to teams like Albion who are well above us! Get ur facts right Steve, sorry I mean jez
As ever another well written piece, on the upside we’ll go and win a few now just to give us false hope
think they shouldve demolished the billy quiet instead of the north bank and left it like it then we would have got rid of the moxey lovers!! anyone agrrrrrrree?
The whole club is disintegrating before our eyes. Those who witnessed the debacle with QPR at Mol
never believed no action would be taken to put things right.
Instead mass dithering broke out resulting in the sacking of MM too late.
The only time they make a decision is building the stand, restaurant and houses.
I haven’t early birdied .
FOTCJMSM
still..at least you wont have anyone thoughtlesly sitting in them next season and spoiling the loverly pattern they make…..should rename the stadium ….any ideas anyone??
abandon hope all ye who enter here? (excluding visiting teams…)
Think Moron would like it named The Redrow.
Great post. Written with passion and in my view, accuracy.
Jez is heralded as this leading CEO who negotiates hard so that transfers are always ‘undisclosed’ & never as much as reported in the press. However, where’s HIS Premiership experience as a CEO? What club has he lead that’s established itself in midtable & higher??
Apart from Morgan & the dressing room incident undermining the manager, & not acting sooner to address MM’s position, I can give him the benefit of the doubt during these trying times as he’s not a footballing man.
Moxey on the other hand? If he’s that great, he should have advised Morgan a lot better so the above mistakes were avoided. He’s done nothing IMHO apart from ride on the back of others successes.
Get rid. He does nothing that a leading commercial businessperson couldn’t accomplish, & his PR record is on a par with Ratner’s. Must fit the club’s DNA? Um, protecting yourself with statements like that.
And expand the search of a replacement to add a director of football, as that’s missing for all to see. Stoke and dare I say it, WBA, are enjoying some success from this approach.
Only just realised how disgusting the comparison between our Dave Jones war chest and Moxey’s bonus was.
As for Johnson – what a disaster he has been. Thought we had done well to get him to sign for us and actually he turns out worse than what we have already.
O’Hara hasn’t exactly set the world on fire either has he. Sure he wont be rushing back with this injury to ensure he’s fully fit when we get relegated and he seeks a new club.
We were crap last season, signed no one and expected Norwich, Swansea and QPR to be worse than us.
Disaster, club run by clowns with blind faith in a manager past his sell buy date only to sack him at a time when no one would want to take the job on.
Complete joke. I actually enjoyed calling them to cancel my ticket for the Bolton game today (what a sad state of affairs this really is). Roll on the end of the season.
A good chance to have another moan about Moxey eh Ben?
For what it’s worth, I don’t really like him much either. He’s a bit slimey and maybe doesn’t acknowledge the fans enough but overall he’s done a pretty good job. In 2003, do you think it was down to him to give Jones barely any money. I’d argue that was down to Hayward not wanting to give him much more as Jones had spent a lot already, and also given players like Irwin and Ince big wages.
The same this time with Morgan, I don’t think Morgan wants to do anything too risky, but Moxey has done a good job on getting some decent prices for players and also recouping money on players like Olofinjana (£3M!!!!!!), Eastwood, Camara, Surman etc).
Ba, Cabaye? Yeah right.
Getting Ba and Cabaye wasn’t dreamland in the summer.
They weren’t superstars then.
They are now.
We could have had both but for a reluctance to pay big wages and a bloated squad.
Louie, we just ‘recouped’ money from ‘Surman’ did we ? –
You make it sound as if he was no good.
How come he is an essential part of Norwich’s midfield? – How many points are they ahead of us?
Sorry, MM, Moxey, TC, just ‘recouped’ money.
Dream on about Cabaye and Ba, they would have ended up like ‘Surman’ not ‘fitting’ with the MM & TC school of ‘put in a shift’, and been moved on, maybe on loan to Forest like Guedioura…
We are going down.
Let’s hope Morgan grows some balls in the summer, gets rid of Moxey and TC and brings in someone like Lee Clarke so at least we play football…..
I’ve been a Moxey fan.
I think he knows how to run a business but not a football club and I’ve come to some conclusions.
1. I don’t think he’s a football fan nevermind a Wolves fan.
2. I don’t trust him. I don’t trust any politicians.
3. He’s a puppet and a mouthpiece for the club and says what he wants us to hear, infect, he is told what to say.
4. He’s spineless and powerless.
So all in all. A bit of a shit. And I haven’t mentioned his appearance.
I’ll wait for the blog about Morgan for his bit.
4.
I’m not a Jez-hater by trade, but his soundbites certainly haven’t helped matters throughout this terrible season.
He knows full well that big errors have been made but up until the last week or so has been loathe to admit any culpability on the club’s part. Case in point, trying to justify to a BBC reporter that Terry Conner isn’t a novice.
Everyone makes mistakes, I don’t have a problem with that. But it’s how you respond to mistakes that defines the type of person you are.
In this respect, I feel both he and Steve Morgan have failed.
This season has spiraled into a tornado of misery and the big decisions from the Molineux hierarchy have undoubtedly contributed to the garbage we’re seeing on the pitch.
Namely:
1. Lack of squad investment – both in the summer and in January it was obvious that the squad needed major surgery. Yet all that happened were small tweaks. OK, we were unlucky with Frimpong and who could have predicted how little Johnson would contribute, but we needed more fresh faces to come in and some familiar ones to leave. But nobody left because Mick simply wasn’t given the dosh to bring in players of a superior quality.
2. Not having a manager lined up – this is probably my biggest gripe. If you’re going to sack a manager with 13 games left in the season, you must have someone in mind to take over. Conducting two phase interviews was always going to end in disaster. It might be how you hire people in property development, but it doesn’t wash in the world of Premier League manager recruitment. As a consequence, we now have all the same vulnerabilities we had under Mick but none of the character and leadership he brought in spades. Sacking him wasn’t the mistake though. Not getting a proper replacement was.
3. Allowing players to leave – None of Guedioura, Hammill or Elokobi should have been allowed to leave. All have contributed to previous survivals and could have done so again. Even if it was only 10 minutes here and there, it could make all the different. We don’t know all the reasons these loans were allowed to happen but reducing your options for the sake of it is foolish. The board shouldn’t have allowed it to happen, particularly after spending next to nothing in January.
…and I haven’t even mentioned the stadium redevelopment.
All of these things sap morale from the fans, leaving us all frustrated and angry, which ultimately pours out onto the pitch.
I don’t know whether this is Moxey’s fault, Morgan’s fault or a combination of the two, but someone has to answer for the capitulation we’ve seen since those blissfully misleading opening 3 games of the season.
I think, if all was well, the stadium development would have been a good thing.
To compete without a sugar-daddy, which Morgan certainly isn’t, it’s crucial for the club to make its own revenue and one of the best ways to do that is from gate receipts.
IF we were an established Premiership club I could see that new stand being full to the rafters, especially against teams like Chelsea, Man Utd and in derbies. That would lead to more money and would vindicate the decision to build it.
It’s clear that Stamford Bridge, White Hart Ln and Highbury (previously) are/were holding back their respective tenants financially due to missed gates and that could be us as we have a big support too.
As it is though, we’re heading for the drop and no one’s going to fill the stadium as it used to be, let alone as it is now, to see Peterborough.
They should have expanded the stadium AND spent a bit more on the team to guarantee that we’d have a reason to use that extra capacity.
As it is now, I fear there’s going to be two stadiums similar to Elland road in the Championship next season.
The fat controller should go lie on some railroads tracks for what he has let (or not) happen to this club.
As long as it isn’t one i work on. I’m not having him tarnish my maintenance work!
Great post Ben,I think its time Morgan woke up and realized what a fool he’s been taken for
by that fat spiv moxey. He’s screwed us, the club and MORGAN by the looks of it for years,
lining his pockets with money that should of been spent on a really good manager and coach
instead of what we are left with now TC Who could’nt coach let alone manage a club, but saying that one thing he has learnt from MM is stubborness like refusing for help on the survival of OUR club the mans deluded if he thinks he can do it on his own,Why dose’nt morgan tell him its not what he wants ,its for the good of the club and not his EGO..
FOJM.FOTC.
A theme of frustration is apparent in almost all of the posts above; essentially this stems from frustration with the performances on the pitch and not M & M; I’m sure there would not be so much focus on the shortcomings of Moxey and Morgan if WW were pulling away from the relegation zone as their inept decision making skills have always been there even during periods of success. I think a good indicator of their shared insecurity is the sanitized official website; apparently an informative website for fans but actually a simple tool for delivering propaganda. Every other day we are presented with an article allegedly sourced from a player who suggests we can survive; does anyone really believe these articles?
For me though the most striking feature of the website, which says most about Dictator Moxey’s opinion of the fans, is the absence of a fans message board. Is someone afraid of reading too many home-truths? Just compare the current animosity between club and fans with the similar experiences of Blackburn fans in recent months; their official website message boards were active throughout their difficult times – a sign of a more confidently run club I feel.
absolutely spot on mate..couldnt have put it better myself..the frustration it has caused fans has meant a response that is sometimes unfair but when fans feel they are being ignored its going to end up quite venomous.to be honest i believe if they stubbornly refuse to listen to fans moans and groans they will end up walking blindly off a cliff..somewhere in the middle as i always say is where the truth lies! that website is generally a waste of time written by a librarian and completely sterile…the scary part is they really believe we will swallow it.MR MOXEY..WE WANT YOU TO GIVE US WOLVES FANS SOME CREDIT-WE ARE NOT STUPID OR FICKLE YOU ARROGANT CONTROL MERCHANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I have alluded to on other blog subjects the only way to bring the two Ronnies to heel is by hitting them in their pocket. When the money stops coming in to the coffers by having the stadium half full or less, week in week out, you”ll find it’ll be …” good night from him ( and it won’t be SM.) ”
As a successful master builder with his own little pot of gold and a life long L*******L supporter, he probably thought he knew enough to continue his success story into football. How wrong could he have been. He hadn’t counted on that master tactitian JM, who having survived several traumatic seasons with WW knew his way around the block.
SM needed sound advice in the intricacies of PL football management at times and he hasn’t had it. As a consequence he has looked like a fish out of water, learning the ropes on the hoof and he has made mistakes because he’s been fed the gospel according to JM. His learning curve has been steep, but so be it. I’m sure he’s a lot wiser now and he knows who has let him and the club down.
I’m sure that if this had happened in his business world he would have been ruthless. I am quite happy to give him the benefit of the doubt.
As always, keep the faith…UTW and FOWB.
3points at N*****H, 3 against B****N and 3 at S***E , 9 points and nearly home and dry.!!!
QPR’s fixtures are too tough so they’re down, Bl******N have come good at the right time so they look a lot safer than us. This is going down to the wire. KEEP THE FAITH !!!!!
QPR 3 LIverpool 2
I went out last night and didn’t think to check the scores today. Oh dear, looks like my cunning little plan has been scuppered almost immediately. Back to the drawing board for me, though I do think it’s going to the wire again this season. I think I let my heart rule my brain, musn’t let that happen again.
As ever keep the faith, UTW….!!!!! and FOWB.
Which is worse this weekend, BL******N winning or BO***N winning or WW losing ????
There’s a poser, eh…..????
Does anyone know Tony Soprano?
He has a contract he’d like moxey to sign!!!!!!
Surprised no one has had a friendly discussion with the fat bastard before now.
QPR winning 3-2 if we wasnt down before, we are now. Well done fatty.
Not even SM’s beloved scousers could do us a favour.
Unless we come up trumps on Sat we could well be consigned to the PL rejects this season.
How long have I been thinking this but not wanting to admit it. It looks like it’s time to stop fooling myself and concede that yes, not maybe, we are as bad as everyone else thinks we are.
Keep the faith…UTW..!!! and as always FOWB.
Things just got worse; three goals in 13 minutes to give QPR three points, if Bolton take three against Blackburn at the weekend we will certainly be ‘adrift’.
We’ve been adrift for quite a while really it’s just that we didn’t want to admit it.
http://www.itsroundanditswhite.co.uk/2012/03/21/if-or-should-we-say-when-wolves-get-relegated-its-on-your-head-steve/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=if-or-should-we-say-when-wolves-get-relegated-its-on-your-head-steve
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!!
Hear’s me thinking it could’nt get any worse when QPR beat the reds, wonder if Morgan feels
doubly pissed off.It only happens to wolves fans, and i hope the player’s are feeling the same as us.Totally gutted.FOJM.FOTC.
It’s definitely time to neck it back now… Jesus holy cr@p thank God for these blogs…the flak I’m getting from collegues is constant and painful. My sense of humour is waning and I feel impending doom each morning… at least reading you guys I feel less isolated!!
Will we get another point this season?
I thought that we might, I was hoping that we might, but now I’m praying that we will.
Trouble is we look so bad as a team it might be better if we don’t. At least then certain key issues will have to be faced up to and resolved.
It’s looking increasingly like a year or 2 or 3……. in the desert.
surman and bennett to score for norwich anyone ?? kicked when down!!! gutted !! oh well off to the coffeeshop ! hooray !!
We are Wolves-onward to Norwich. Those that were there that day will be able to tell their
children, I was there………..Please God 3 points!
We now need to make up 4 points on QPR in the last 9 games. As it has taken us 22 games to get our last 15 points, i think we can assume tha fat lady(or bloke in our case) has aready started crooning.
It’s a stunning statistic isn’t it? 15 points in 22 games! That’s the joy we’ve had this season and Moxey tells us to eat humble pie.
We have hit the bottom literally and metaphorically. Our only hope is that Morgan now recognises there has to be a complete review of the whole club and the direction it’s going.
We need a bright new manager yes. But more than that we need a CEO who realises that a football club is ultimately about the football team and the supporters.
Sorry can’t add up. It’s worse. 15 points from 26 games!
That’s so depressing Martin..
So on current form, 15 points from 26 games averages to 0.5769 points a game. As we have 9 games remaining we’re looking at getting 5.1923 points. If we call it an optimistic 6. That leaves us on 28 points. With blackburn already sitting pretty on 28 and QPR only one win away with 25…
On current form… we’re as good as relegated..
That’s even more depressing. Where’s that bottle of jagermeister?
That IS even more depressing..
To all the players in our squad.
In the last century we beat Germany TWICE against all the odds, how did we do that?
Good leadership, good decision making and Bl00DY hard graft, so my message to you all is::
PULL YOUR SOCKS UP GET STUCK IN AND FIGHT TO STAY A PREMIERSHIP SIDE.
Oh and we got America on loan in the transfer window. Now if we could get Dempsey and the rest then maybe…..
I have no problem with Jez Moxey being removed but as we have seen with the manager just getting rid of someone wont necessarily take the club forward – you have to have someone or something to put in its place (unless of course your real aim is just destruction).
Firstly, it would stop the fat fuck bleeding our coffers dry, and put him on the unemployable pile, and secondly, we could then get someone in who actually cares about The Wolves, and knows something about football.
The big but, though, is, why do we need that “position’ in the club anyway?
FOJM
Are you saying that Moxey is irreplaceable? And as far as destruction is concerned, i reckon they’re doing fine already.
Thanks for the replies at least no one just told me to fuck off ( though there is still time ! ).
Never do that Col, you’re entitled to your own stupid opinion! (that was a joke by the way.)
Can only assume Moxey keeps his job because he is implimenting Morgans policies. The only hope for Ben is a new owner who is prepared to put more money in for wages.
Morons assumption is we’ll just put up with things-whilst he builds his next empire.
Moxey is a greasy turd but Moron pulls all the financial strings. Early bird is the first
reminder that we the fans do have ambition and can still flex the monetary muscle.
I don ‘t feel that things will change that much-just more empty promises.
Where we go from here is anybodys guess-wonder what rest of The Board are feeling
Is there any desire to change? No Clipboards appointment proved that and
Curbs walking away was the clearest indication of this. Management of our club is not fit for
purpose.

without this blog think i would have gone completely bonkers by now….although we are not THE OWNERS we are..sounds a bit of a weird statement but think about it-we do sink cash in as owners do – we invest bucketloads of ourselves ..emotionally and physically(it takes me a couple of days to recover after every game i get to as i lose my voice and give everything) we own it because we truly care about it like it was a family member..wolves get right inside you and once you first pull that old gold on you just could not follow another team..ever! if there is anything good to come out of this debacle-its re thinking why we bother and just how much we really care! ive been to both ends of my emotions and it has reinforced my love of my beloved WOLVES……..WE are the owners! not morgan and moxey! always remember that!!!
Thought this might cheer everybody up. Post on E&S site today.

‘A statement of the blindingly obvious from TC so why has it taken so long to realise it and what is happening on the training ground to sort it out?
How about working on some fast passing moves based on forward movement, pulling opposition defenders off and attacking at speed rather than the perennial sideways backwards slow slow hoof it up the field approach?’
Hang on, reply to this next.

2. Steve Brown:
I’m not sure that “pulling opposition defenders off” is within the laws or spirit of the game.
Although I do concede it could act as a potentially useful diversionary tactic.

Loving that Martin! Very good. I’ll be pulling myself off to relieve some stress if we don’t win Saturday!!
Bloody hell Ben. It’s now official tactics. There’s a video on the sanitised site headed ‘Pulling together!’
Enjoying a short break in Scarborough and read with horror in one of yesterdays tabloids that MM is on the phone daily to TC offering advice and support. Wonder if MM is actually picking the team and agreeing tactics for the next game.
The failings on the pitch continue, despite MM`s departure. The failure of Moxey`s spin to sell the heavily discounted early birds, hardly surprising given the shite football and the disatrous run of results recently.
I`m not having a season ticket next year unless Morgan completes the change of football needed by sacking TC too, then makes the other change, sack Moxey, get in a director of football to work with a new manager next season. Then I might be interested again.
Interesting stats from Sky Sports……
“I was at Molineux on Sunday to see Wolves take their defensive record to 19 goals in their last five games and go 26 matches without a clean sheet in the Premier League. They’ll be hoping to avoid a club record of 28 matches that was set between April 1926 and January 1927.
This is also the first time in their history that they’ve lost six home games in a row in one season. They’ve won only one of their last 15 in the Premier League and taken eight points out of the last 45. It’s hard to believe they were top on August 27!”
What more can one say…
Morgan, Moxey, What the F**K are you doing to this great club.?
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!!
Director of football- good idea but who? Needs to work with the Manager not against.
Suggest -that’s the rub-Who is going to be manager?
There hangs the tale!
I think a director of football would be great, especially if working alongside a young and hungry manager like – an older out-of-work manager who has seen it all before could be a good choice.
For goodness sake, why doesn’t the Express & Star confront him with some of these contradictions?
