Looking at the fixtures for March at the end of February, I concluded Wolves needed a minimum 5 points to have a realistic chance of survival.
At the start of April we have the same number of points we had at the start of March.

Surely now even the most chirpy, upbeat, downright belligerently optimistic supporter wouldn’t dare to suggest we can still do it?
Having managed just 5 wins all season, we’d probably need to match that from the remaining 7 games and even that might not be enough.
Don’t forget we also have to play Arsenal and Man City as well visiting Swansea and, this Easter weekend, Stoke.
This wouldn’t be the Great Escape, it would be the Greatest Escape.
Personally, I’ve realigned my aspirations as we await mathematical confirmation. All I want is 7 gutsy performances and a few decent results to at least end the season with some pride intact.
However bad we are, these players are capable of better than what we’re currently being served up.
The Britannia isn’t an ideal place to start of course. Stoke have won more games at home (6) than we’ve won in total and every point is very much a prisoner in Staffordshire.
The Team
Personally, I’d be reverting to 4-5-1. We were just too open again through the middle in that crazy 15 minute period against Bolton. I know it’s hindsight, but after we went a goal up, I was disappointed TC didn’t act sooner bringing on Henry. We needed that extra protection.

It’s a no-brainer to put Henry back in if he’s proved his fitness. I’ve opted for Milijas and Edwards alongside him but I wouldn’t object to seeing Davis slot in there to have two holding players.
Considering Jarvis tends to struggle at the Britannia with Wilkinson nobbling him at every opportunity, we’re going to need something big from Kightly to get a result.
It was really pleasing to see Kites step it up again last weekend and score a wonderful goal. As my dad correctly observed, ‘that’s the reason we go to football matches’.
Prediction League
It’s all very much still to play for as we close in on the end of another Prediction League season.
12 people correctly stated we’d lose against Bolton but none of them said 3-2, so all take a single point.
I’ll go for a draw Saturday.
2-2.
But to get that we’ll need to show far greater resilience over 90 minutes than we’ve managed the last month or so.
We crumbled in the reverse fixture earlier in the season having dominated the first half. Yes, we were unlucky as Stoke definitely should have been down to 10-men after Woodgate’s second lunge on Jarvis, but we just didn’t get going in the second 45. It was embarrassing.
If you’re at the Britannia on Saturday, have a great time and get behind the lads.
Up The Wolves.

we’re on telly so will concede 5. I reckon we’ll get one back though, so a respectable 5-1 defeat it is
Not being a home-game could take some of the pressure of Johnson, provided he gets to play. I’m gonna stay optimistic and wish for a clean sheet.
2-0 wolves 🙂
3-1 stoke.
anyone seen this rumour?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2125206/Wolves-want-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-manager-EXCLUSIVE.html
Isn’t the Mail the same one that said we’d signed Piquonne? I’ll just wait and see who we get in the summer! 😛
Piquonne…better than no onne
Well…Ole is one of the greatest substitutes of all time…
What’s a substitute?!
2-1 Wolves because I’m an idiot! 🙂
Seriously though – dunno why but I’m expecting a gutsy performance from us… results and position wouldn’t suggest it but…
I dont think youre an idiot – just a loyal supporter! I think we have all excepted our defeat back to the championship but there is still always a belief that our team can do it! 2 given fouls that shouldnt have been. Story of our lives! Very sad TC interview at the end of the game!!
What else to predict at this wretched time than yet another defeat?
Stoke 2-0 Wolves
3-1 to Stoke. Sad times indeed when that is my prediction.
When we are sure to go down( next couple of games) the rebuilding should begin, no point in showcasing players who will leave in the summer, a good sale price already assured.
Terrible Conner and his clowns start looking for a non league job now.
Pfft, I just can’t see how we can go to the Britannia and get a result. I think we’ll be lucky even to score. They’re too well-drilled and are usually strong at home.
It would be amazing to end our poor streak, but I’m afraid it won’t be this weekend.
3 – 1 loss
This is just the match to blood a bunch of youngsters/fringe players.
That lot you named Thomas are a bunch of losers, whether or not they have played well at times, they are just a bunch of losers, and need to be dropped immediately.
The problem is, our manager is a loser as well, and really needs to be put out of his misery.
We need fresh faces, young ‘uns who will actually try to win the game, to give us 100% all match.
Whether we win lose or draw, as long as they give their all, they will be supported by us long suffering fans.
The likes of johnson ( and I use lower case letters as a real mark of derision) etc should never darken the great halls of The Molineux again.
We need to be able to hold our heads up again, and be proud to belong to one of the greatest clubs in history, so the sooner the broom comes out the better.
morgan, greasel, FUCK OFF, and take all your deadbeat losers with you.
Prediction………….Stoke 4 Wolves 1
Although, as usual I agree with much of your sentiment Clive, (the vast majority in fact) the player’s ego and need to cling the premier lifestyle, premier schooling, clubbing, lovers n wives will mean they will want to shine for other clubs. The penny will have dropped that championship is looming and now they will want to be seen and play….for themselves, for the possiblity of other eyes on them, not for our club.
Footballers have never been noted for their brains, and I don’t think our lot are any different.
Your comment presupposes that any of them actually think beyond the next paycheck, or whiskey bottle in johnson’s case.
The penny should have dropped at the final whistle at the end of last season, when only the skin on their teeth saved them. It failed to drop with any of the management either, which why we are now in the proverbial.
No, they just don’t care anymore, and are waiting out the season.
Let ’em wait on the bench, I say.
My pessimism is raking me in the points at the moment. Stoke 3-0 WWFC and yet another shambolic defensive showing.
We needed a miracle and we got TC, says it all really.
He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy!
Ade, That quote might be a little old for some of our veiwers.
I get it and I’m 18! 🙂
It should be a crime to not know Monty Python!
And I will fart in the general direction of those who don’t.
Sjoke City 1 – 2 Wolves
Got to happen sometime, and hopefully against my hometown club!
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked to Wolves as a new manager. Here’s an article from a norwegian news paper about Solskjaer, translated from norwegian to english:
http://translate.google.no/translate?hl=no&sl=no&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dagbladet.no%2F2012%2F03%2F23%2Fsport%2Finnenriks%2Ftippeligaen%2Fmolde%2Fole_gunnar_solskjer%2F20817004%2F
Such an accurate article . Second- half displays are very noticable by their almost
non-existance . So sad a 2nd half against Bolton that I must probably expect the same .
2-2 , a little pride restored ? ok , I’m still a dreamer !
ps , two items ; I was in a London cab yesterday and the driver had had Jarvis on board a couple
of days earlier . He was off to some ‘financial’ meeting …considering giving the game up –
said the cabbie ???
GB telly viewers tonight , BBC , Land of the Lost Wolves…I’m expecting a Moxey expose…
I loved the translation of the picture caption in the Norwegian website: “Wolves are jumbo table and six points on the line when the seven laps remaining.” I couldn’t agree more.
What does interest me about the Daily Mail article, if it’s true, is that Steve Morgan is now looking for a dynamic young manager. How wonderful would that be – rather than the old farts he was interested in before.
Don’t think we’ll get a point at Stoke, but please, Wolves, let’s end the season with our heads held high, and look forward to positive changes in the summer.
Ive just heard its between 2 paul ince and solskjaer. They will get us back in the prem. With all the experince they have. 🙁
Just rumours – no one knows who’s in running for the next Wolves manager – I mean, who saw TC coming?
Greasel of course…..”he’s the best man for the job”
Why was he not appointed in the same breath that McDickhead was fired?????
Stoke 4- Wolves 1
I’d take Solskjaer as a manager and think he could assemble a team to get us straight back up. Intelligent, knows the game, Fergie’s apprentice.
If relegation brings the sacking of TC and Moxey and a new regime with Solskjaer as manager then relegation might be worth it.
Interesting to read the posts above relating to the ‘Ince’ article as coincidently I spent the afternoon watching the 2003 Play-Off final again; it’s a video I turn to whenever I’m depressed after watching Wolves lose. Unfortunately after three seasons in the PL the video is wearing out; I cannot seem to find a replacement on DVD, does anyone know if it is available?
I suggest we play Ince, Kennedy and Blake this weekend; they couldn’t do any worse than the current squad. Two down by half time again, we get one back in a good spell after half-time then they finish it with a third. 3 – 1 to Stoke.
The Stoke website says Wolves have returned half of their ticket allocation so likely there will only be 1,400 of us their. We’ll need to make a lot of noise to be heard, but I’m sure we will. Keep the faith.
Is this the same Paul Ince that used to ice packs on his knees most of the time so that he could play two games in a week? That is dedicated professionalism. One of my modern era pick for Wolves greatest player always gave 100% and then some.
3-0 to stoke, not picking another win this year
Ince – caused loads of trouble in the changing room in his latter days here and I think Hoddle’s end was a result of it, but that could be forgiven, I think he is a hard taskmaster which our squad needs, just look at us now under Mr Softee, after the iron fist of MM. But, big Sam is far more likely IMO. 1:1 at Stoke
BOO HOO.
4-1 stoke sorry, we cant deal with their tempo.
TC prove me wrong, I DARE YA!
how many of you will i see at sunderland!
although i dont want to see us lose again wouldnt it be great to see some passion coupled with dare i say it…a professional performance…. given up all hope now but think the players owe the fans a huge performance!
Doesnt matter that much we are out of the premier loop – stoke are a club that pay a lot of money to make up the numbers and get a pat on the butt – fuck the premiership i am Wolves
It’s stoke we are playing not barca.I reckon we will get a win .don’t ask me why but I can just feel it in my winky water.
I reckon that last weeks performance (minus 15-20 mins in the 2nd half (after one of our own cheated us)) will have done the players the world of good. I think we’ll put in another good performance, this time we’ll have less pressure too so we might hit the target with a few more efforts. I say Wolves win, Stoke 1-2 Wolves.
I’m going for a draw… 1-1. Kights to score.
I think we will actually win this one as Stoke may take us lightly. 1 – 0 Wolves, Clean sheet.
Too late to save us but food for thought for next season in the Championship.
Those players are gone, totally gone. Half-beaten before kick off and totally beaten once the first goal goes in. Even if we score first the players can’t believe in it enough.
Stoke 2 – Wolves 0
C’mon Wolves prove me wrong! After the Albion game most Wolves fans wanted Mick out but we still don’t deserve this. I reckon SM thought AC was in the bag, I’m sure most would have been happy. I doubt we will ever really know what went down (other than us 6 weeks later).
Last week was the MUST win game, where the players were gonna go to war, fight for their lives, prove they were 100% behind terry connor. We lost. And shitty bolton scored 3 goals. I said ages ago we would not get another point this season and will stick with that. 2-0 win for stoke. I hope i am wrong.
I don’t know what to say really. I’m just a supporter, a fan who sits in the stands. Just 7 games to go and either you heal as a team or crumble. Pass by pass kick by kick tackle by tackle shot by shot I will be supporting you not booing not hurling abuse but supporting. You can either lie down and have the shit kicked out of you or you can stand up stand together and fight with pride with passion with dignity. Now I can’t do it for you I’m too old. I wish I could. You know when you get old in life, things get taken from you. That’s part of life. But you only learn that when you start losing stuff. Life isn’t like football you can’t hang on for a draw or score a last minute winner in the end there is only one result. Life is ultimately pointless but there is no reason why the next seven games should be. Look at any player around you look into his eyes and see the light see the belief and know that a team can be greater than the sum of the individual players. You are a team. You are Wolves. We are Wolves.
Wolves 1 Stoke 0
Apologies to Al Pacino
http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&v=_b7bgtu2O4E
Morning all, Stokie here.
Funnily enough we used the Pacino speech during our promotion season. TP had it on in the dressing room before our vital win away at Coventry.
That said we were gash in the first half and looked like blowing promotion so perhaps it’s a slow burner?
As for our game, the biggest thing in your favour is that we can be a real charity case for teams struggling and in desperate need of a win, so you never know.
I think we’ll have enough to win as TP is desperate to bust 40 points ASAP but I suspect it will be a tight game.
I’ll go for a 1-0 win to us but I won’t be shocked if you get some sort of a result as the amount of games we’ve racked up with the Europa is beginning to take its toll now.
I can just imagine terry connor saying the inches speech on saturday. (ha)
Well every time we play Stoke they manage to bully us to defeat. Can`t imagine TC saying anything to his team that would stop that happening this time, sorry but we are a soft touch, so lets go for a 2-1 win.
That can`t and probably won`t happen, but one paper this week said Stoke would offer £6m for Jarvis in the summer. For heavens sake, if he does go, suerly he can do better than Stoke. Interesting that Moxey left there, because he said at the time Wolves were a better bet to get to the premiership. Just shows that arrogant tosser knows diddly squat about football.
4-0 Stoke. Another horror show. We will just hit a wall of red/white Stokies.
The question is…..has this team got any bollocks ? ; up to now the answer is a resounding NO. Nevertheless, I do believe somewhere, sometime, before the end of the season they will pull off a mad result. It may be Stoke! Who knows? With that in mind(and Kelvin Henry back) 1-0 Wolves(and I had a bloody good bet on Blackburn to win 2-0).
Who’s this bloke Kelvin Henry?
Any relation to Karl?
Must be a signing made on the QT by greasel.
Is he any good?
I hope we don’t get Solsjkaarr, coz I can’t spell his name!!!!!
Is it that or is it ‘cos you can’t think of a clever way to re-name him if he’s gash? 🙂
You found me out, Hamsterletitoutofthebag, I have no funnyisms left in my arsenole.
Hope for the best, but expect the worst – Stoke 4 – Wolves 1.
Is anybody, anyone listening to Clipbpoard?
O’Hara’s getting himself fit to get another club-rats are leaving the sinking ship.
This is a total joke.
Stoke 6 Wolves 0
FOEVERYONE WHO HAS CONTRIBUTED TO SUCH A MESS.
When is this going to end………..
Painful.
Stoke 3 Wolves 0
Get Ole in now. He needs to see “what a fine mess” we are in and prepare for the lecky league.
I think we can expect the unexpected now that we are all but down already and the matches are pretty meaningless. Look out for some eye catching performances from people looking to stay in the premiership even if we aint.
Prediction, Jarvis and Fletcher excel as Wolves win 2-1.
Well I just found this doing my morning rounds of the sports pages.
Is he having a laugh or taking the pi$$.
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2012/04/05/karl-henry-wolves-need-a-miracle/
Well, we’ve got three easy home games coming up, Arsenal, Everton and Man City.
Arsenal will realize that they cannot finish higher than 5th, and will play the third team, since Wenger will, as per his usual policy, want to keep his stars fit for international duty this summer.
Everton will play their tea ladies ( they don’t have any reserves) as they want to win the FA Cup.
Man City will play their third or fourth team, as they will realize, after going 8 points behind United this weekend, they haven’t a chance of the title, and all their “superstars” will have thrown all their toys from their collective prams, and sulked off back to whatever hole they originated from.
So, there’s 9 points for the taking.
Stoke will take pity on fellow Staffordshire ites, and stop Crouch having any more wonder goals, thereby giving us 3 points.
Other games left ?
Swansea away. Mark G Davies is taking family to South Wales for birthday celebrations or something, and I have had a quiet word withn Brendan Rogers, and he’s promised to contribute to the celebrations by giving us 3 points.
So, there’s your 5 wins, Karl.
Now the other two games left can now be dubbed as “not must win”
And then I woke up.
Here’s a stat for Clive i found on the internet.
Antonio Valencia has 5 assists against Wolves this season: two in Manchester United’s 5-0 romp at Molineux, and three in the champions’ 4-1 win at Old Trafford. That’s a record for most assists by a single player against the same club in a Premier League season.
Thats quite a damning stat for our left back who was supposedly marking him don’t you think.
Errrr…… over to you Clive
Valencia obviously had 2 off days to only get 5 assists when facing Ward.
Everybody could see we desperately needed to sign a proper left back. Ward is a centre forward, converted to left back by big nose. We spend £2.5m on jelle van damme. Didnt work out and got the money back. The left back situation is just a typical event of complete stupidity by the board. Ridgwell went to west brom for £1.5m. Since george has gone on loan, ward has played really shit. Possibly because he has not had any competition, no matter how shit, for the left back place. Morgan, moxey, mccarthy have a lot to answer for.
Bassong can play left back. Perhaps we need him more in the centre though?
A center forward is supposed to score goals.
Look up his pathetic goal scoring record before and after he joined us.
I agree. Why did we sign him then
Cos he puts a shift in. Duh! What are u, some kind of numpty?
Coz he’s Oirish, just loike that ex “manager” we had, from Yorkshire.
And he has a very long proboscis, all the better for brown nosing…….
Agreed, but he is a centre back by trade. We needed a proper leftback. Not a converted centre forward or centre back. Too much of round pegs, square holes this season. Just look at the manager. We have a coach as a manager. Morgan and moxey are buffoons.
Whoever said he was a coach, TC that is,Idon’t think so.FOJM,FOTC,
What about this for a wolves team,Hnners,Bassong(LB),Berra,Zubar,Foley(RB).Davis,Henry,Jarvis,Kites,Fletch,Doyler.Subs a load of kids that includes Zeli what ever his name is.what we got to lose.same as last week ,I’m going for a sneaky win.FOJM,FOTC.
The only good sign for this match is…..they, do not have any of our former players in their team who can score or dive or rub our noses in it, and then gloat………I suppose the down sign is we have a couple of their cast offs. So let’s be positive we can’t keep playing this bad every match can we ??? and the performances have been getting slightly better ( but still dire !!!! ) I’m going for a more relaxed team atmosphere since deep down they know they’ve blown it, which means less pressure and a very lucky 1-0 win.
As ever keep the faith…UTW..!!!!!
I am assured from on high that we can, indeed, play this badly every match…
Thomas,Any thoughts on you and Ben combining together with a letter to Steve Morgan, about
a real wolves parliament for the FANS to ask some poignant questions about whats happened to our club,i’m sure you would get a very good response.perhaps it could be done on this blog
with all of us to endorse it.
Very good idea.
It would be very interesting to see what response, or lack of response, such a request would get!
Down and out Wolves are. Stoke 3-0 Wolves.
Don’t see us getting anything from this game.
2-0 Stoke.
Must be the light air here and poor BPL coverage but I’m going with 4-2 win for the Wolves! If we can’t play defense it’s time to play three up top (Fletcher, Doyle, and hell why not move Ward up top?) Try Kightly, Henry, Jarvis, and Milijas at mid and Bassong, Stearman, and johnson at the back. Come on Wolves…21 points; lets start with 3!!!
In another crazy idea what about adding Robbie Fowler? Could he help unite the team and perhaps take over as coach this summer?
An ‘all too little too late’ point today!
Stoke 2 Wolves 2 (after going 2 nil up of course)
2-1 to the Wolves. Henry to score the winner with a 30 yard thunderbolt!
Another 1 goal defeat i reckon. 2-1 to Stoke
Stoke 3 Wolves 1
Does it really matter anymore?
Johnson out whitch is good. Zubar in so there is a mistake in him. But good liuck lads come on the wolves
Has anyone read a report the steven hunt did in irland?
Yes mate, very illuminating. He says something like ‘good job Henry is coming back as we need leadership on the pitch’ and ‘it’s hard going to work when not everyone is getting on’.
I paraphrase but it’s not rocket surgery to read between the lines is it?
A lot of people for all the right reasons blame Moxey and TC for the mess we are in but watching the subs laughing and joking on the side of the pitch instead of warming up in my opinion is just taking the piss, relegation my be a forgone conclusion but the players should show some respect if not for the manager then surely the fans! Time for a lot of the players to take a good long look at themselves and realise that they are just as much to blame for this fiasco as anyone else
Well There we are again.. Utter Tosh being served up as an excuse for football.
Did that lot play like their lives depended on it.. NO.
I even think the premier league want us out the way now too, we are bringing it down to new levels of S**t.
We seem to have just raised a big white flag to the premier league and said F**k You.
Someone please put this terminally wounded animal out of its misery.
Conner must be on the brink of walking by now.
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Says it all really..
The two clubs also share a link through the CEO; Jez Moxey is highly unpopular amongst Wolves fans and occupied the same position in the hearts of the Stoke City supporters, prior to his defection to Molineux in 2000. Since his departure, the Potters have prospered, selling almost 10,000 more ‘Early Bird’ season tickets than their former county neighbours, whilst Wolves have failed to build on their presence in the Premiership and started to slide backwards at an alarming rate.
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
The good news is that baseball season has started over here.
I get to watch a team that lost 106 games last season.
Makes the number of Wolves losses a bit more palatable!!!
Thank god we are not called broncos, or we would have been shot for being lame well before now!!
Utter fuckin’ rubbish, yet again.
Clive
I think you might be right about TC being related to Poxey…
If the lady to Poxey’s right today is his wife????
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Clive,Nige; Moxey and TC married sisters. They are brothers-in-law.
From memory, Bronco was abrand of toilet paper akin to greaseproof paper but not quite as soft.
You’d start off with a fairly clean arse and end up completely covered in shit. A product not fit for purpose which shits on it’s customers. Yeah Moxey’s Wolverhampton Broncos. Got a certain RING to it so to speak.
Nice one .
First thing to make me laugh in a while !!
No, anal one , we were not `utter fuckin` rubbish`, why don`t you actually watch a game for a change. We`re going down, we`re 17 points behind albion and yes its all very humiliating but we`re not complete crap. Right now we`re paying the price for not sacking that completely incompetent idiot that is Mick McCarthy at the end of last season. Whoever is watching us right now before he takes the hot seat imminently will see that there are plus points out there. Taking the lead in 3 consecutive prem games is one. Jarvis, Kightly and Fletch is two, Davis and other promising academy players is three. The negatives are the back four and the likes of Edwards and O`Hara in midfield. The right man will build on the good points and get rid of all our crap.
Great comment, exactly my view.
Joke.
Joke defense again
Joke players messing about on the touchline
Joke manager waiting till 15 mins to go to make a change.
Joke manager bringing on a defensive sub when were chasing a game with three minutes to go.
Were screwed. Players no tc is only short term deal so no point in playing for him.
FOTC FOJM FORJ
When your down your down and when your down there you get a kicking not from your opponents but from the so called referee Halsey, what a prick two dodgy decisions and two goals,i know we did’nt defend them with any conviction but its so hard for the player’s when you know you’ve won the ball or when your fellow pro CHEATS to win a foul that leads to a goal.the sooner FIFA bring in the third eye the better for ALL it will stop the CHEATS and they will get punished.
On the game overall we played ok but half of the team looked like they are already down, sorry to say.Connor for me did’nt do us any favours with the side he put out. i thought he left it to late to change it for me we should have got doyler on sooner because ebanks blake was’nt doing enough for me ,the ball kept bouncing off him no control for me he should have gone sooner.thats why we should have gone for a manager and not a coach imo.but its all over now
so lets get a proper manager in NOW and stop F##KING AROUND.FOJM.FOTC
Oh and by the way where was morgan today, hope he’s interviewing someone else for the manager’s job or Poxey’s job both would be great.
Megson at the match today looks Like Morgan may have got his man !! let’s hope he was just been given a free ticket
If Megson comes to wolves i will never go back to the ground, i will sell my season ticket (if someone would buy it). Living in Stockport i now how baf he was there.
Totally and utterly agree
This is officially a Pantomine. I’m really thinking about not going to the Arsenal game.
I can’t take much more of this shambles.
Disgusted with attitude of the subs. THICKBOARD must go-put him out of his misery.
Sack Johnson immediately he is taking the piss. Make a statement-do something not nothing.
Moron make a decision. Moxey FO.
useless, clueless, pointless, couldnt care less any more!!
Talking of the disgusting attitude of the subs, did anyone see milijas on the bench with his leg stretched out, over the chair. I have never seen a sub look so disinterested. Our club is rotten from the head down
Just back from Stoke, totally knackered and depressed, certainly feel like I have put in more of a shift than some of the players. The small section of Wolves fans worked really hard today in what was a rather flat atmosphere at Stoke. Was it all worth it? – not really.
Too much passing back, passes going astray, forwards afraid to have a shot and the same old defensive tactics. Radio Stoke, on the bus home, described Wolves as ‘a dire championship performance’ and there was us thinking we had done well only to concede two.
Has SEB lost his touch or just lost interest?
Think that’s enough for this season, see you all in August.
One thing he hasn’t lost is weight. The man has larger breasts than most women.
Yes.
I wonder who will stay in the Premiership of our team?
Really the problems we have now, should have been dealt with last summer, but our chairman put his building company ‘Redrow'(?), before the team.
He gambled on a stadium has lost our premiership status.
The farce of appointing Connor showed utter brainlessness.
Kightly played well but why, oh why, the constant pass back to Hennessey for a hoff forward.
Its depressing to watch and must be depressing to play but our ‘manager'(joke) thinks its the way forward.
Muddled thinking and let’s hope for some positivity amongst the structure of the club over the summer…….
Will we get another point?
I doubt it…..
I think ive had enough this year. Not wasteing my money anymore. Bye bye man u, city and liverpool.
What an absolute Mare – guess this is why i never just scream for the managers head (unless you can put someone better in his place).
It would have been no better had MM stayed and he should have gone last August.
The building of the new stand took preference over the team.
This is obvious to anyone with a modicum of a brain.
For a change to occur fans should stay away.
The management don’t care, nor do the players so why pay them?
Not that it’s any consolation, but I think we’d have been a little better with Mick. Not out of the relegation zone by any means but at least still within reach. Just due to the stability and the “putting in a shift” mentality. We’d still be going down… but we perhaps wouldn’t be a laughing stock…
He should have gone miles before, sacking him at this end of the season with no (decent) replacement ready to step in was madness
well done mr morgan..we sure have great foundations dont we?? everything is now in place to build on..problem is we all thought you meant the team, not the stand!! just thought id remind you though-you may be stinking rich ..enough to buy a club but its theFANS that actually own the club!! we invest an awful lot more than just money..blood sweat frustration and a bloody skip full of tears!!!! the way every aspect of this season has been handled is embarassing at best….i really hope you have some real great plans for next season cos even the fans that refused to agree with the vast majority and early birded will also turn…..an absolute shambles and embarrasment to the great city of wolverhampton!!
If we were honest with ourselves, we saw this coming ages ago. When Sunderland were down in sh1t with us, they acted upon it and appointed a tried & tested manager, with the desired results. What did our regime do? Struggle along , heads in the sand, until we were humiliated by the Baggies on our own patch.
They then, in their wisdom, appointed a guy who has worked under the last four managers, what, with all due respect, was he ever going to achieve?
It seems that even the much-travelled and inadequate Steve Bruce did not want to come here, or indeed anyone else.
Now hopelessly stranded, we cannot even keep up with the likes of Wigan & QPR, little clubs with no tradition , less support, and probably even less money.
I agree with Old Goldy, a shambles and an an embarrassment, the worst Premier League side since Derby a few years back, not even going down with all guns blazing, at least Wigan will emerge with some credit and respect whatever the outcome.
Heads must roll, starting at the top.
Give Connor a lengthy contract now. He’ll bring us back up, given the support.
TC IN!!!
Love this kind of humour- keeps me sane…
I cannot wait for this season to end. It would be more bearable if we played with more spirit, belief and fight for whole games, scrapping and winning the odd point here and there. At least there would be something positive for supporters to cling to, some satisfaction. But alas no.
Three key decisions have sealed our club’s fate. Firstly the decision to stick with Mick at the end of last season when we escaped relegation by the skin of our teeth and no small amount of luck. A club with serious ambition to make an impact in the league should have accepted the lucky escape gratefully and then acted decisively to ensure we did not rely on luck this season.
Secondly the purchase of Roger Johnson and appointment of him as captain. Other than his first 2 or 3 appearances for us at the start of the season his form has been poor at best and his leadership non existent. It appears he is not respected by most of his team mates and his captaincy has created a rift. For all of Karl Henry’s faults he at least earnt the respect of the other players and he was a leader on the pitch.
Thirdly having made the decision to stick with Mick how on earth can anyone explain the thought process behind sacking him at the critical end of the season without a suitable candidate primed and ready ? Was it muddled thinking or just shear arrogance assuming that there would be a long line of top quality interviewees queuing up for the post ?
I don’t think we have a bad squad. The team is good enough to play and do reasonably well in this league if well coached and managed to get the best from them. Players lacking self belief and confidence who are not being coached and managed to get the best from them are always going to be doomed. And that is precisely where we are.
I am probably stating the obvious and I don’t subscribe to the emotional name calling and nonsense about people at the club not caring but big mistakes have been made and as a Wolves supporter I feel embarrassed; I can’t wait for the season to end. UTW
Agree with every point you’ve made there mate. Couldn’t have put it better myself.
Andrewwfc I’m not sure if you are joking or not. I’ve no doubt TC is a decent guy trying very hard but the club needs a change and fresh start. Absolutely no doubt whatsoever on that score.
Wolves4eva – are you kidding me? With Johnson, Stearman, Henry and TC at the helm we will walk the Championship next year. Even get a new record points tally for first place!
…
I eagerly await the Arsenal team at a high from defeating Man City… *facepalms*
Let’s just bring on the Championship already – we need a fresh start!
Unfortunately a fresh start doesn’t just happen……
There are three pressing prerequisites……….
1. Get rId of Moxey
2. Get rid of Moxey
3. Get rid of Moxey
Back in the midlands for a couple of weeks and I’m heading to the Arsenal game. I’m a sucker for punishment.
Hoping for a rousing chorus of “We’re building a stand, We’re building a staaaand, f**k the football, We’re building a stand,”
