If you need reminding about the difficulty of escaping the Championship, look no further than the teams that contested last season’s play-offs.
Reading, Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday all came close, but six months on are marooned in midtable.
Maybe one of them will rally over the second half of the campaign, but still, their struggles prove that progress is never guaranteed. You’ve got strike while the iron is hot and all that.
Wolves suffered similarly in the post Sako/Dicko/Afobe era. When that little axis was disbanded after failing to crack the top six, we wandered the dessert until Fosun came along.
It’s the same this time. We have the best team, the best players and the best manager. We’ve got to make it count.
Sheffield Wednesday
The Owls were on the charge briefly but haven’t won any of their last five. Midtable beckons.
They’ve got some good players in that squad, but so do a lot of teams. Individual quality isn’t enough.
When you’re successful for a couple of seasons without getting promoted it’s hard to keep things fresh and I get the sense it’s gone a bit stale for Carlos Carvalhal.
The Portuguese man is moaning about decisions a lot and when that starts happening regularly, you sense things are unravelling.
There are noises he could be close to the sack if he loses this one, so it will be interesting to see what sort of response he can get from a decent group of players.
Wednesday have only lost once at Hillsborough this season, so a difficult contest in prospect.
Wolves
Annoying we couldn’t find that winning goal against Sunderland but at least Cardiff weren’t able to take advantage.

This is a challenging period and none of the games look straightforward.
If we can emerge from December still top of the table and with distance between ourselves and third place that will be a great result.
This Wolves team have the pedigree to beat Wednesday, Ipswich, Millwall and Bristol City, but when the games come thick and fast, it’s unlikely they’ll have it all their own way.
I hope to be proven wrong.
Does the team still pick itself? Probably, for this one at least.
The odds
Wolves are 11/10 favourites to win this one. You can get a slightly more generous 7/2 on a Wolves victory with both teams scoring at Betfair. There are promotions at Betfair currently so make sure you check them out on that site to make your dosh go further.
Predictions
I said after the Sunderland game that I thought Wolves would benefit from teams attacking them and I expect Wednesday to show more adventure, particularly at home.
They’ll cause us problems because they have some good creative talent and more worryingly, players who can stick the ball in the net e.g. Jordan Rhodes.
But if Wolves play to their maximum, they’ll win and I’ll back them to do just that.
2-1.
Up The Wolves!

Hopefully Wednesday try to play football against us, unlike Sunderland.
I’d Start Bright instead of Bonatinni just to freshen our attack up a little.
I will be in the pub watching this one. I truly believe we will do the business, so:
Sheffield Wednesday 1
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2
In fact, I think I will join the prediction league for the remaining games this season, just for fun, so:
Not before time Brompto’. But watch out if you just happen to win it again. 🙂
Fat chance of that mate. My correct predictions thus far only total 24 points, and none of them count. So I am starting from scratch.
I would have won last season, but I chose to place 9 (yes 9) 5-1 predictions in lol.
There seems to be a pattern developing in the last 2 games where the opposition have applied a system to thwart the sweeping football of the Wolves….. after all we applied a similar tactic against the Premiership leaders earlier in the year
Its debatable whether Carlos will adopt the same tactics against us on Friday with his position as coach on the line …. it could be argued that a draw against the best team in the division is a superior result to a likely demolition of his team if they attempt to play open football to gain all 3 points from the fixture….
1-1
wolves ay we
Interesting one this.
The penalty shoot-out against this lot in the FA Cup was the closest I think I’ve come to a heart attack, so I can do without that kind of game, tyvm.
I’m working on last week’s match being a glitch that didn’t turn out to be a defeat that we’re more than used to…and which we have of late been turning into immediate reprisals against our next opponents. I don’t consider their manager watching from the wings as a factor, I mean, he ain’t gonna the one kicking the ball into the back of the net, is he? His job (should) be done by then.
So, srappy, niggly victory to the lads, I reckon.
UTW
Difficult to predict this one we scored 1 in 2 which is unlike us at mo, they havnt won in 5 so I’m going for a draw a score draw aswell, hope they prove me wrong
Wolves need to keep winning, and this lot seem to be on a downward spiral so let’s keep them spinning. Can see it being a tight game, and I think we need to freshen up the team, Price for Saiss, Vinagre for Douglas, perhaps Costa for Bonatini too. Cavaliero has to play, as does Jota, though he’s been kicked so often he must be black and blue.
A niggly difficult 1-0 victory
That’s 30-ish per cent of the team, our top striker, dead ball specialist and midfield enforcer all gone.
You obviously like a challenge, dontcha Amber?
think we are maybe getting found out a bit at the moment , defence still not conceding too many though so a tight win
Having to watch this one in the pub with BOG and Rhys Lightning etc thanks to Sky – we were going to go up on the train (nice direct line from Bedford) when it was 3pm on the Saturday but as soon as it got moved it made it impossible as to get back on the train we’d either need to leave at half time or stay over and come back the next morning. Boo!
Any road up I think this game will see us return to our free flowing football as Wednesday aren’t in the same business as Blues or Sunderland as they do at least try to play football.
If he plays I sincerely hope with all my heart that the cheating, diving little git Forestieri is sent off by the ref or battered by N’Diaye – or both. Will never forgive his shameful theatrics to get Sako sent off at Molineux when he was a Watford player.
OODCL
early goal shut up shop.
thoroughly professional display.
One goal in two games!
Two clean sheets!
Unbeaten in seven!
Four points clear at the top!
Eight points clear of third place, which means we have to lose three, and third place win three if we are to be overtaken!
Woe is fuckin’ me!
A crisis!
I am officially starting a “Nuno out” campaign!
Get a fuckin’ grip, all you doubters out there.
We have a team, and a management team, that can beat most of the Prem teams, let alone second division crap non footballers, and that’s without any January or next summer input.
We were top in 09, under McDickwadhead, but only by the skin of our teeth at times, and other team’s crap displays.
This season we are top on merit, and by playing the most scintillating football seen at The Mol for generations.
Other teams will try to “park the bus”
Well, we aint waiting at the bus stop, we are going up in Nuno’s Limo!
And once again, why are we playing on a not – Saturday, when I will have difficulty finding a stream?
One of the prizes for success, I suppose.
Well, next season I will watch in comfort all the prem games we play, as we waltz our merry way to the title!
Friday’s result at Wednesday?
Bolton walk over again.
5-1
And I gotta say it again.
Oh what fun to see the shit tumble into the bottom three without playing!!
FOwb
They’ll still be in there after tonight’s thrashing at Liverpool ….eh..eh…eh
And, the slimy sock full of shit suckin toads could be bottom if results go our way tonight.
One of the headlines today over here in sane land was, “Baggies fans get teased by Wolves fans after ex player Sako sends them into the relegation spot”.
It has to be done, just has to.
After the last couple, this should see the return to proper football from both teams.
I can’t see too many changes in the starting line-up but with Bazza suspended for 5 yellows, his obvious replacement Ruben Vinagre should get a well deserved run out. Otherwise, barring misfortune, the same starting eleven for me.
Could be an entertaining clash with two teams looking for a win. But we have more than them and will win.
Didn’t Douglas’ latest booking come after the ‘cut-off’ date ?
The FA site suggests we have no players suspended – tho’ it is run by the FA, so…
It was mentioned today by Dim Tim Spiers, that Douglas was absent, Vinagre may be what we need to set that wing alight, although we will miss Douglas’s dead ball skills if he is indeed missing. I’d rather lose him to this game than others. Point of note, Jota must be close too.
They will try to attack and get picked off.
I sense a nice 2-0 away victory coming.
Back to winning ways. Jota x2 and Bonatini
Hopefully back to winning ways, another tough one, but difficult to predict a loss.
There seems to be a bit of a consensus that we might win 2-1. Include me in that. I think Sheff W will go for it as the manager badly needs a win. That should make for a more open game, and work to our advantage as we have difficulty in breaking down teams that park the bus.
Great stuff from Bakary Sako last night. His goal for Palace stuffed West Brom. Pardew’s reputation will be well and truly on the line. I bet he wishes he hadn’t taken the job!
Oops, left the score off.
Agree with both of your posts Dances.
Leo and Cav to score.
My nipper and I are hoping to find a bar in the middle of France on Friday night showing Sky Sports.
COMBS!
As others have said, its going to be an interesting one. They have experience throughout the squad and are unbeaten in 5 at home including stuffing Leeds and all but beating Hull (95th minute equaliser). They have Jones and Bannan who are reckoned to be 2 of the best passers in the division. Well, sorry but they ain’t seen Neves & Saiss yet…
They will come out and have a go at us, so the opportunity will be there to go with the front 3 that started at Burton – rest Leo and hit them with pace.
Caravahlo has said “he won’t change his game because it’s his neck on the block or because it’s Wolves”. So with our, away form, our potential record breaking 4 away wins without conceding on offer, on Sky tv, Friday night hoodoo, a rock solid defence and all the other botox that gets spouted. I’m a gooin for a Wolves 3-0 Sheff (soon to be manager less) Weds.
Hoping we can get back to winning ways,
and I think we can, because they’re at home and I don’t think the fans will allow them to play a defensive game especially at home.
I just hope we have our shooting boots on again against a side who have struggled of late.
UTW.WOLVES AY WE.
Got to work again so it will be monitoring the game on my mobile AGAIN. Roll on retirement next March. Anyhow, enough of my woes, how about SW’s after we have showed them what a class act we are, even in their back yard. 3 points all the way and a further widening of ‘the gap’.
I’ve never subscribed to the parking the bus excuse. Wolves had sufficient chances to score vs. Sunderland. They just didn’t take them is all. All they needed was one. But it didnt happen. One of those games, and I am sure Nuno will have addressed a number of issues. I expect us to be back to winning ways.
I feel really bad about this one. Can’t explain, just think we’ll get turned over or let ourselves down.
You’re right that Wednesday will come at us and that might be an advantage as it was at Reading the other week, but Wednesday could be more clinical than Reading if given a long spell of dominance.
There’s always room to improve and while Doherty and Bennet did their basic jobs last weekend with effort, I think next time a team parks the bus we will need more flair.
If we don’t score on Friday expect Bonatini to start getting some flak again.
Prove me wrong like you always do Wolves.
According to multiple sources we are apparently after Lewis Grabban of Bournemouth currently on loan at Sunderland.
Really?
I mean REALLY?
As I said regarding Chris Martin – cheap plonk from the corner shop doesn’t go with the finest fayre from Michelin starred chefs.
OODCL
Shhhhhhh…..For God’s sake don’t mention new players, you’ll have em bringing up Afobe and sako and dicko etc……
Just, just please keep it to yourself, at least until the nurse has been round!!
Here comes reality decent teams to beat not like say Sunderland which was 2 points lost..
If they have a go and make it more open then we’ll spank them..
Cavelerio to score 2 Jota 1..
Always a happy hunting ground Hillsborough. One defeat there in 53 years. Can’t see that changing too much but expect a close game with Wolves producing a late winner via Jota. Win 1-0.
Gutted to be missing this fixture for the first time in 4 years. Took us just 55 minutes to get to Sheffield last year and was really looking forward to it. But hey, when Sky Sports say jump, clubs just have to say, how high ? Although all is not lost. Couldn’t cancel our hotel but we were allowed to pick another date. So, next year we are staying in The Garrison Hotel, Sheffield, having a 3 course meal and being entertained by a Take That tribute band – jealous or what you lot ? ………………….anyone ? Okay, watching Wolves would have been our first choice but beggars can’t be choosers. Lots of Wednesday fans in Newark but I think I will stay away from town and watch it at home with Mrs Wing. Pretty sure normal service will be resumed and we will be back to winning ways. Don’t think they will put 11 men behind the ball and hold out for a draw but also don’t think we will have it all our own way. Another 3 points on our way to the promised land.
COYW & FONF
A win it is. Although it may be a tight affair….nah, we are going to hammer them.
Onwards
Rio Ferdinand has got the biggest scarf on I have ever seen on BT Sport. It would take your Nan about 3 years to knit it. You could probably solve the homeless crisis in Wolverhampton by housing people in it. Oh well. As long as he’s warm.
Looking forward to the mighty Wolves increasing the gap at the top and applying pressure to all concerned.
Comfortable 2-0 to wolves
Hopefully Wednesday needing a win will work in our favour and leave some gaps at the back for us to take advantage of. Going into a rough run of games now and I don’t care what people say Christmas will test us a few of our team have never played over Christmas but if we are still top in the new year I expect us to pull away even more.
Night is ruined. Shit gon back out bottom 3. Kopp you are a wanker.
Klopp obviously
hoping to be able to watch this one in a pub……..
As long as the ref can spot that cheating bastard Foristieri (if he plays) then SW should be down to 10 men at some time, but suspect we will get the normal shit officials so we will have t do it the hard way.
Expect a tight game but we should win, and send a clear message of “Mind the Gap” to Warnock and the rest.
One good thing is that having seen him officiate on Monday, twatty (aka steve martin) should be still ‘resting’ and therefore unavailable for the game tomorrow.
It’s a small mercy, I know, but in his case I’ll take it.
Does anybody (Stu) know how many fans we are taking to Sheffield?
Bearing in mind the kick off time it’s likely to be a lot less than usual.
Never underestimate the power of our away support. I know that Nuno doesn’t.
Having said that, we should be too good for Sheffield Wednesday – or even Friday!
But I would have put a lot of money on Liverpool clocking up a cricket score last night and they didn’t. (Luckily I didn’t either).
Let’s hope for a 90+ minute performance from our lads. If I’ve got a crticism of us this season it’s that we do tend to have occasional 20 minute or so periods when we get all soft and sloppy.
If we do that against Wednesday we could be punished.
But we won’t, will we.
Just got my seats for the Swansea match.
A most apposite way to kick off our promotion year.
Doog.
Up to yesterday morning, we had sold 1120 tickets, this to me is truly incredible. I expect the end number to be about 1500. For a Friday night going up the A38 and M1 that is very commendable. I’m disappointed we won’t sell out, but a realist that these are great numbers for a Fri trip up the car park that is the M1 at that time of the week.
We shall give them one helluva shout for you guys.
I feel the need to share a little bit of news with you guys.
Tonight is the Wolves Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) Christmas doo at the North bank, we are fortunate to have the legend that is Steve Daley and the unbelievable potential that is Conor Ronan plus his young lady Tianna coming along to support our cause. There should be a lot more room in there and getting a pint or two at the bar shouldn’t be the usual bun fight it is on a match day.
Hopefully back to winning ways , a draw isn’t a bad result away on Friday night but I don’t fancy Ipswich on the back of two games without a win so a win it is
Got my wolves away shirt ( finally arrived) pressed and ready for the second day at the waca tomorrow
Come on you wolves
Come on England
Fair play Marney. Wish I was at the WACA. Went there in 2006/2007.and we lost. There is a bloke from Wolverhampton at the test who went over a few days ago. Away season ticket holder. Massive Wolves fan. He meets up with his mate in Perth also a Wolves fan. Met an Aussie lady and lives there now. Look out for them. Probably have Wolves shirts on and may have a ‘tap and spile’ Wolves flag with them.
I found this just now, it makes for interesting reading. It’s taken from an interview with Ronain Saiss and is his quote.
Saïss, jovial by nature, is happier at Wolves now than he was last season, when he lost his place after going to the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco. He had heard of players being punished for departing on international duty in the middle of the season and found it curious that Lambert did not restore him to the starting lineup until a month after his return in February.
“The team was in difficulty towards the bottom of the table, winning matches in the FA Cup but not in the league, but I wasn’t being picked; I’ll leave it to you to work out why,” he says, suggesting he has a theory. “I didn’t want to create trouble so just carried on working but at the end of the season it was important for me to ask the manager why he had left me out of the team for, strangely enough, basically the same amount of time that I had been away on international duty. I knew the truth but wanted to hear it from him. But he couldn’t tell me, he hid behind other excuses, which was a pity. But that’s life and I just got on with it.”
Lambert was replaced by Nuno Espírito Santo in May after Wolves finished 15th.
Yep we are due a win. Been over a week since we won a game! They might not park the bus but I think they will concentrate on keeping a clean sheet. It could be tough scoring against them but I think we will manage at least one. That would do me fine.
We will be raring to go under the floodlights and on tv.
In Nuno we trust
Tight match but we’ll edge it. I agree with Doog, we have to stop switching off for a few minutes during matches.
COYW
I have a strange feeling about this one. Wednesday have been pretty average this year following on from a couple of good years but they do seem to save their best performances for the better teams.
Hope I am proved wrong but I fancy an upset tomorrow night.
A big club with big support, still sulking and suffering from two playoff defeats, really they should be doing better.
So how motivated will they be or have the players lost faith in the manager – believing him to be unlucky and past his sell by date. The home support won`t let their team just go through the motions or defend in depth though, they expect quality football and a home win.
However their toughest game of the season tomorrow, if Nuno gets our lads up for this game then can`t see anything but an away win. Getting a early evening train from Chesterfield for the 20 minute trip to the Steel City. Just hope its a more enjoyable performance and result than
my most recent trip to Sheffield for an evening match earlier this season.
We`ll enjoy the big pitch and the spaces for our pacey attack to run into, so its a 2-0 win for me tomorrow night.
Was I the only one with wry smile when Danny Murphy, on MOTD, berated Swansea players for not incurring a yellow card in their game on Wednesday. Should have been at opponents, late tackles, trips, in their faces etc. Is this the same man who when playing for Fulham labeled Wolves and other clubs as too physical? As a disgrace.
However on to tomorrow’s game. According to media rumours manager Carvalhol has two games to save his job. So the question is will his players play to save him or just not bother turning up. (How often have we seen that at The Molineux post McCarthy, and for that matter pre his departure, such as the notorious drubbing by West Brom).
I suspect he’s already “lost the dressing room” and, if they play badly, the already disenchanted support will express their displeasure.
And given that Wednesday’s defense is by all accounts slow I expect Wolves to win comfortably. Unless of course Wednesday’s players decide to turn up.
LET’S BEAT WEDNESDAY FRIDAY…COYW
All seems very positive on here tonight. Isn’t that nice? No Amanda, we’re all the best of friends and happy go lucky Wolves folk. I hardly recognise the blog. I’m so happy I’m considering applying for a Portuguese passport.
Good point, where IS Amanda?
I always enjoyed her menstrual comments.
Sheffield Wednesday fans after the game Friday ?..#Carvalhol HOOT, Carvalhol HOOT# (groan)
This will be a steel !,
Wednesday on Friday. 0
Portuhampton. 2
Reading the latest news about Wednesday’s squad and their fitness / absence ….it looks like half of Sheffield are on the sick.
No Forestieri, Fletcher a doubt …the list goes on.
What we mustn’t fall for is that old trick where Carvalhal thinks we’re unbeatabl, marvellous and basically better than the rest of the teams in the division……
We know we are … we’re at the top on merit but we have to approach the game thinking…it’s no pushover …. we must have balls of steel …which is handy being in Sheffield.
If we’re in the right frame of mind I can’t see anything other than a win …. Bonatini and Boly.
Just watching Hereford v Fleetwood fa cup game on telly. Been in that stand on the side a few times. Seem to remember 1988 or there abouts and Wolves had 3 sides of the ground. Won 2-1 I think. Bully probably bost the net. Good to see them back in action. Fair play to the local fans for ensuring there will be competitive football at Hereford going forward.
Hey cheeseburger, I’ll keep an eye out for them, loads of wolves fans in Perth mind you, you wouldn’t believe how many stickers in cars I see and how many thumbs up I used to get for my ‘wwfc’ Number plate , oh and we always lose in Perth, until this week
The last ever ashes game at the waca too and I believe Nuno must have given the lads a pre game pep talk and that’s why we finally turned up
Utw
Take it easy chap
Saw Wednesday on telly early in season and they played some neat stuff. My guess is that they will have a real go at us and this could be a more interesting game than we’d like. But hell, this time next year we should be facing Spurs, Arsenal and whoever over Christmas so we need to learn to give as good as we get as no=one will be parking the bus for us next year.
So by this logic we need at least one more proven striker on our list for Santa.
I will be at Molineux tomorrow night. Nope I haven’t got the wrong ground, it’s a works do. Im hoping there is a TV in the room somewhere showing the game, if not I’m disapearing to the local with a few sausage rolls up me sleeves to watch it. Doubt anyone will miss me but I’ll make up for it later when the tunes em on and we’ve all had a few bevvies.
Lip up fatty, ah lip up fatty, for the reggae ..
I will even request they play the liquidator if WMP don’t have any objections. I will impress my new colleagues by singing the famous chant, or maybe not!
‘Ere Thomas what’s all this about wandering in the bloody dessert?
Was that when we lost Sago?
You puddin’
It’s 3-0 for me and a broken nose for that Forestieri
WAWAW
Not disappointed to be missing this one as Hillsborough is a desperate place when it’s freezing cold especially stood on that often frozen concrete in the away end.
Any advice from US based Wolves fans as to if this game can be viewed would be appreciated.
We haven’t slipped up in consecutive games, but a point may have to do here
Here’s a link to Wolves DSA Christmas doo in the North Bank bar last night with the man that is Steve Daley.

Brilliant work Stu …. you’re one top bloke mate …
Tricky game this one , lets hope the frustration of last week spurs them on.
We will bounce back from last week and win the battle of the Portuguese managers.
Hopefully a clean sheet as well. Live on TV so a danger game.
I expect us to bounce back from the disappointment of last week and we will perform much better as a counter attacking side.
Won’t be easy but I think we can win this.
Open attacking game with the quality of the Wolves attack shining again and thw Wolves defence stopping all comers.
Fletch may score but we’ll get more
Just spoken to Mike (Bedford Old Gold). He was rushed to hospital by ambulance with suspected heart attack last night. He’s having tests done today. I know like me you all wish Mike a speedy recovery
So sorry to hear that we met BOG at the Park Hotel the morning after we beat the Vile with Mike and Sue please pass our best wishes.
Rob.
Sorry to hear about BOG …. Hope the tests go well and he gets the appropriate treatment.
I’ve recently had Angioplasty and if Mike wants any reassurance then take it from me …he’ll be fine.
Best wishes mate and get well soon ..xx
Mike and Lilian
Oh no. Hope all turns out okay. Whoever sees him next, please give me regards.
Thinking of you & wishing you a speedy recovery BOG
Wolves playing this well is enough to give anyone a seizure! Take care and get well asap, mate. You can’t get missing this season for goodness sake!
Speedy recovery BOG. Sending you a big man hug. Hope your back on your feet soon.
Take care
Mike
Forgot to put my prediction in earlier
Hope Bedford old gold is all good

StuWolf
Hey stu , yes please , I need two tickets for Barnsley how can I pay you. Marney
This is my email address.

Contact me over the next week and I’ll sort everything out.

I can’t see The Owls coming at us all guns blazing, to risky for Carlos in his shaky position. So I expect to see a tight game with them concentrating on picking us off on the break. WE should of course still be to good for them I’m going for the win and hoping Carlos keeps his job as I rate him as a very good manager.
Good luck to BOG, chin up chap your’e made of good stuff, I’m sure every single blogger on this site is right with you at this moment.
If it was a suspected heart attack then he will get his arteries sorted out with stents and hopefully back on the Wolves bus as soon as he can. Medical treatment in blocked arteries is up there with the finest in the UK today.
Best of luck matey.
StuWolf & Jen de Wolf
I’m going to miss this one as I’ll be going deaf in Brixton Academy (out of choice), so chances are it’ll be a display of total football by Wolves and we’ll spank them!
It’ll be interesting to see how Nuno shuffles the pack during Christmas and New Year. I can’t see him resting Boly and Coady, so presumably Danny will get a game or two in place of Bennett, unless Nuno brings in Miranda again, or Hause.
Other than N’Diaye and Costa though, I wonder how willing he’ll be to bring in the likes of Bright, Price, Ronan and Gibbs-White? Looks like we might have seen the last of Marshall and Zyro though.
BOG will do anything to get out of buying a round, which he would have to do if he met up with Bedders tonight.
And being as Bedders is tighter than the Wolves defense, it would have been a dry night!!
Get off yer arse, BOG, Wolves fans are only allowed to have heart problems if we win something, and as Nuno sez, we ain’t won Jack Shit…………………….yet.
Look after yourself, and get better asap, we need your War and Peace blogs on here.
Best wishes and positive vibes from across the pond.
Those owls will be living off scraps tonight when the ‘owlin’ wolves tear into em.
COYW
99 goals/ 99 points
I think this fixture will suit us down to the ground if they come out and play against us. slow centre halves playing a flat 442 they’ll struggle. if you’re going to get anything out of wolves you need to adapt, Sunderland did it and got a point. However with this game being played at Hillsborough the fans will want attacking football and I think that’ll leave space for our forward lads to play in and cause problems. jota bonatini and cav with the goals. come on you wolves!
First off – get well soon, BOG!
Should be a proper game tonight – their home form ain’t too shabby, Wolves best away team. Bring it on!
All the best to BOG. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
Wednesday away is always a toughie, even on a Friday. I do think, however, that we will have enough about us to win. I think this is the first of Sky’s Christmas run of games and I hope it’s a cracker.
A win but close Wolves 1 Wednesday 0
We should bounce back (from a draw!) so I’m going for a substantial win.
Just back in from a very enjoyable meal out in the company of my family and ready to settle down in front of the TV for an experience I hope will be as good as the meal. It might be wishful thinking, but I believe we’ll get the bounce-back effect after Sunderland and win convincingly.
Always had a soft spot for Hillsborough since seeing Birmingham beat Sunderland in the FA Cup final the year Bert Trautman broke his neck at Wembley. Not my team then as now, but a great day out for a young football fan (Yes, I was young once).
Hear’s to a safe journey and clear weather for all making the trip, I’m sure you’ll all be in good voice. COYW
Ort even “Here’s to ……”
We are a club blighted by decades of misplaced optimism.
The hopelessness of seeing, for instance, the light of the Premiership, snuffed out by yet another run of defeats.
I could go on.
Certainly conjuring up voodoo to help the team, seemed to have as much potential, as the tactics of some of the managers!
Until along came Fosun, then Nuno the “Holy Spirit’, Neves, etc & we have become, this season, the Man City of the championship.
I am so used to that inevitable banana skin, the slip up, loss of form etc, that every game I am still nervous.
Nevertheless, with the set up we have now, none of us should be.
Clive is right, though not with his score.
Away win. I have spent many many hours at Hillsborough. Well it seemed like many hours. Probably cos I couldn’t find any decent ale to sup.
Big hugs to Bedford Old Gold from me and the PMDG’er.
He’s much too good looking to be poorly so I expect it’s a false alarm.
But in any case I’ll ask Nuno for an easy win tonight so there won’t be the need for anyone to stress out.
We will want a detailed account from BOG about the hospital visit when he gets home.
The key to a probable victory is an early goal for us..in the first half hour. Then counter attack at pace when Wednesday have to chase the game. If that goes to plan then a further chance to impress the rest of the Championship.COYW.
Scoring early is crucial. But I don’t think Wednesday defence is up to keeping us out. Score early and the crowd will turn, especially if we dominate possession as we usually do!
Hopefully comfy 2-0
I see that prize plonker Warnock has been mouthing off again doubting our staying power and saying we aren’t as good as Newcastle or Brighton last season. Just shows what an absolute knob he is.
Meanwhile please lads win tonight if for no other reason than to cheer this old geezer up! (The one on the right not the devilishly handsome one in the left).
A couple of handsome Knobs. See you at the Mol against Ipshite. Come on !!!
Certain I have seen those two geezers on Crimewatch…………
Bedford have you got an address for BOG for a get well card.
Either email duggy2@tiscali.co.uk or text 07970522665 if poss
Thanks

I’m getting a Peaceful Easy Feeling about this game.
Wednesday 0 – 2 Wolves.
Back to winning ways!
Score one for the Bogster!!
If we keep up this points per game ratio we will get 106 points.
But, the crisis deepens.
We still cant buy a defeat!
Another three points.
Another clean sheet.
When are we going to lose so all the moaners can jump out of the woodwork and scream ” I told you so”, and “Nuno out!”
Seven points above wernick.
Eleven above someone else, it matters not.
And it’s not even Christmas yet, what’s Nuno Espirito Santa got in the chimney for us next weekend??!!
I bet my shit eating grin is bigger than your’s, Tipton Ex!!

No it’s not, just getting around the outside of a celebratory yellow tail
Wolves Twitter feed;
That result means that, for the first time in our history, Wolves have won four consecutive away games with out conceding ?
Bloody marvellous.
6 clean sheets in last 8 games!
A new club record in winning four successive away games without conceding a goal.
Ruddy has had to make just 2 saves in the last 3 games.
Bloody hell we are good.
BOG sends his love (manly, macho type!) to all fellow Bloggers.

Just back from the pub. Wednesday certainly did not fail to try, but when Neves passed the ball into the net they had no real threatening response.
Dare I comment on Batth. Yes I feking well will. FFS, what the hell. Our composure at the back fell away when he came on and his lack of pace nearly cost us. IN MY OPINION he is a liability and we need him to move on.
That said. Another great 3 points away from home without conceding. Happy with that.
Smugly happy my prediction came true. To me we never broke sweat. Ruddy had nothing to do. Last 3 games 7 from 9. Not really at our stunning best but we can grind it out. Mark of a fuckin great team. Sending all my best wishes to BOG. I am sure the NHS was on red alert when Ruben hit the net. Take it easy BOG. Don’t let the bastards grind you down.
COD – I will pass on your message to BOG. Probably try to visit him Saturday. Sadly the hospital he is in is rubbish. It’s the hospital equivalent of Sandwell Town – low quality, makes you feel ill and nothing ever happens at weekends.
Bedders, sorry to hear Bogs not very well. Can you text me his Hospital address and I will send him a card.
Seven points clear, come on you mighty Wolves.
Barry – send me your number and I’ll give you the details 07709491138 or dave@mcgirls.co.uk
Thanks Bedford. Appreciated.
Hey BOG get well soon,
A Manc mate of mine was working at the JAG engine plant recently and had a heart problem.
Now fitted with a stent & blood from a Wulfrunian, great to tell him he had his life saved at The New Cross & he’ll always be greatful to Wolvo for that.
So BOG get yoursen fit very soon to be back at the Mol real soon.
As for tonight’s game, wasn’t ever really at risk. We are fekin superb, another clean sheet, a midfielder that could get into any worldwide league top six.
Neves is one of the best players I’ve ever seen, we have (IMO) the best manager to come to an English team since forever & a fekin Brillo team & of course the best ever fan base.
I’ve never ever been this happy with our football & can’t wait for the next game.

What it’s like to be a Wolves fan travelling back from away matches.
As well as the no goals scored in 4 away wins record, we also have broken the record for most points after 22 games with 51……the team we beat wolves with 50 points!!!
