For the second year running we’re hurtling towards August with a completely different team, a manager new to the league and a bullseye painted across our chests.
Outsiders sneer, turn their noses up and dream of our demise, but closer to home optimism is building.
I was a reluctant naysayer last summer but my disposition is sunnier this time around and the reason is simple.
Wolves have done all the same things again but just considerably better.
Better timing. Getting the new head coach in before pre-season for starters, even though it felt like that issue could have been resolved much sooner.
Better coaching. Nuno Espirito Santo is an upgrade on Walter Zenga based on their respective track records. Nobody can dispute this point.
And perhaps most importantly, better playing staff.
Unlike last season when it seemed like Wolves were prepared to give anyone from Benfica B a game if Jorge Mendes could convince them to put up with the weather, this time it feels more selective.
And to put it bluntly, these are better players.
If you believe what you read, Ruben Neves was beyond reach for most Premier League clubs let alone a team who narrowly avoided League One in May.
The footballing world isn’t quite as shocked to see Willy Boly pitching up at Compton, but nevertheless his arrival direct from Porto feels like another coup.
Miranda, Ofosu-Ayeh, Bennett and Douglas aren’t Hollywood signings but all have games under the belts, come ready to go and bring long overdue balance to the back four.
More bodies seem destined to arrive, not least a goalkeeper (or two given the desperately sad news about Carl Ikeme) and a star striker to feed off an increasingly potent attack.
The missing ingredient though, which may prove pivotal to our success is better organisation and that means a mass exodus to get this squad down to a manageable level.
Wolves are at least six or seven bodies too heavy and nearly every coach in football will attest to the fact that a bloated group makes their life infinitely more difficult.
So while the rest of the world wait to see how many other rabbits Mr Mendes can pull out of his hat before August, we should be paying equal attention to how successful our club are at trimming the fat.
Either way though, signs indicate a much smoother ride the second time around.
* I’ve setup a thread for everyone to write their comments in support of Carl Ikeme here. Please do take a moment to add your own message.

Great write up as usual Thomas.
Looks and seems more organized and structured this time round.
Not afraid to spend, which is what all fans dream for an owner.
Trimming definitively needs to happen and will, who they chop could be as important as who comes in too.
I see rumors of Doherty going…that’s a bad move imo, he’s what’s needed to offset the stars, proven championship quality.
I agree mate – Doc should definitely not be facing the axe.
Although I can’t dispute his defending hasn’t always been great (Bristol City away sticks in my mind from last season), I still think he’s one of the better full-backs in the division and very good going forward.
Many of our poor performances at home last season stemmed from full-backs not being comfortable in possession in wide areas and thus starving our wingers of a consistent service. That must improve. At least two defenders will leave I’m sure, but I hope he’s not one of them.
I agree re: Doherty. I’d also like to see Batth given a chance in this set up. He has shown he benefits from having a better player alongside him, and deserves a chance in my opinion. We don’t need to remove all traces of the old squad!
Batth is a tough one. I don’t think he’s anything like as bad as some people make out. He’s very strong in the air and makes good blocks and tackles. Typical Championship defender. He wouldn’t significantly inhibit a promotion push if we had better players ahead of him in my view.
Pace and ability on the ball are the main areas of concern, so if Nuno wants to play out from the back, I’d wager he’d look elsewhere. I haven’t seen much of Bennett but my instinct is he’s a very similar player to Batth, so that leaves Danny vulnerable. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him leave if an offer came in.
– Last year they spent ca 30m.
– Every time wolves lose out on promotion they lose around 170 millions in promotion money + the money spent on transfers. So if Fosun spend 70m and secures promotion, they will earn 100m.

Talking of renewed optimism, I make no apologies at having stolen this quote, but it sums up “Wolves World” at present.
09 Jul 2017 12:47:30
Worried Wolves fans contacted Enviromental Health after noticing something strange in the air around WV1.
A spokesman for EH explained its nothing to worry about. It was simply Optimism. The phenomenom although rare in this part of the country has manifested itself before, most recently in 2003 and 2009.
Optimism certainly smells nicer than those bogs in the North Bank!
Nice one Stu. 🙂
I agree Thomas that this set up is far superior to the manager and collection of players of 12 months ago. (Paul Gladon springs to mind.) Yet until the foreigners are bloodied into the Championship and show they can perform I’ll still hold my breath. We only really unearthed 1 gem last year. However, Neves appears to be a real star and with a solid back 4, plus Jordan Graham and Helda Costa all we now appear to be missing is that class striker.
(John Ruddy a more than adequate replacement until Carl gets well again – thinking of you Carl.)
We would be very foolish to offload Matt Doherty, one of our best players for the last 2-3 seasons, and also because we will need a nucleus of British based players to get out of a very difficult league as well as the overseas talent.
Fingers crossed for the season ahead.
Hey. Paul Gladon scored 6 goals yesterday in pre-season exhibition. He just wasn’t given a proper chance.
Yes much better than last year. We’ve brought in some decent players and I am cautiously optimistic that they will settle in well in the Championship. Now all we need are a couple of genuine strikers who can put away the chances we create. My only concern is that some of the decent youngsters, (I include the likes of Iorfa, Hause), may be have limited opportunities, be sidelined or even sold. Happier than at this stage in previous seasons.
I was in the company of some die hard Stokies yesterday afternoon and I just mentioned that we’d signed a £15 million player, another on loan and were expecting a goalie and striker to pitch up any minute.
Wow, the bitching that followed that was amazing….. ‘it’s a bit fishy this Mendes business being involved with Wolves’ etc …and so it went on for a good 15 mins.
Well tbh …. and under my breath …I thought ….Bollocks you lot …we am Wolves now …. and this tells me that the football world are taking notice of what’s going on at WV1.
It’s great that , after years of Moxey austerity, and pocket lining ..along with Morgan’s daylight robbery from Sir Jack (£10 and £30 million profit) the club is at last looking to get back to former glory with owners whose aims match their media statements.
At least it was true when Morgan said that Fosun would be good for Wolves.
I for one am totally locked into this commitment to succeed and I firmly believe this is the year.
What’s happened coming into this new season is frankly breathtaking …more so than last year because Quality is arriving…
Not your Ojo’s or Wallaces or Savilles ….. QUALITY….
There certainly is cause for optimism….but I’m not going to smell the North Bank bog for anyone ……
Apart from thee Carl Ikeme situation (who I wish a speedy recovery) there should be no sentiment on keeping hold of players. Wolves like any other football club is a business and this business has been under performing for years. The “employees” who have underachieved need getting rid and that includes Iorfa. We cannot afford passengers and Iorfa will most probably benefit moving on and becoming a better player. Players such as Vokes and Surman spring to mind – players who whatever reason failed to impress at Molineux but have excelled elsewhere – Sod’s law. We still need a goalkeeper and a striker minimum – if we acquire Ruddy and Aboubabkar then we will have a very strong team – the strongest I would have ever seen on paper. That’s the key- on paper. On paper we should walk the league. In reality we have a massive challenge ahead of us starting with Middlesbrough. My team for that game:
Ruddy
Phil Miranda Boly Bennett Marshall
Costa Neves Cavaleiro Graham
Aboubabkar
Subs Burgoyne Doherty Douglas Edwards Dicko
“Tactical Philosophy
– According to outsideoftheboot he has in the past switched between five formations.
“Shape – How does Nuno set his team out?
Versatility: Nuno Santo sets up his starting XI with either of these 5 shapes [4-2-3-1; 4-3-3; 4-4-2; 3-5-2; 4-1-3-2 – the latter used for a single game] based on availability, suitability and capability. “The versatility of the squad can help us achieve what we want,” assured Nuno after the historic defeat of Real Madrid at the Mestalla (outsideofthebootcom).”
It’s really encouraging to see such quality being acquired in such quantity. However, I say ‘such quality’ but I’m only going by what I’ve read. I don’t recall seeing any of our new arrivals actually kick a ball.
And after hearing, for ever it seems, fans say we need players with ‘Championship experience’, few of our newbies come with this essential ingredient.
However, if you’re shopping in Lidl’s, as we have been for so long, then careful selection of the goods is essential. But we seem to have won a supermarket sweep at Waitrose, so drop as many goodies in your trolley as possible and let the good times roll.
Fascinating season coming up people. Hold onto your hats.
– I personally agree with Nuno’s football is universal viewpoint. The Championship is perhaps a bit more physical than the other league, and the tempo of the game a bit higher. It’s also a very even league with many strong teams – and of course many teams with rich uncles. The myth that you need English players in the team to succeed is in my view not rooted in reality – if you buy players from the upper drawer in Europe. The problem is that so many teams in the past have tried to buy cheap and second rate players that it with time became a “truth” among some people (Lambert for instance:=))).
– I can’t see one reason why Neves, Miranda and Boly won’t succeed. Aye’s physical attributes fits the championship well, and with the varying performances from our fullbacks in the past, except Coady and Doherty last season which were really good, I’m sure he won’t lose out in comparisons.
I should point out that ‘other supermarket chains are available’.
I have no doubt that the approach Wolves are making towards recruiting players who can play a more possession based game. I certainly hope Nuno will be able to get them to be able to defend against such a different opposition to what he has faced before in the Iberian leagues and the Champions league.
– The only weakness based on Footballmanager facts is the speed of the defenders. Will Boly has 12. Miranda and Hause are also quite average when it comes to pace. Roger Johnson had 4, if I remember right, and it became a problem.
All I see and hear are prayer mats coming out and people praying and hoping.
Well, to me it’s all bollocks and it’s a guaranteed, 100%, cast iron certainty that we are going to take the second division title in a breeze.
Our new manager has experience of dealing with teams from different leagues and different countries.
He will be playing a bold, fast paced, passing game.
The ponderous plodding defenders who will think they got an easy game against our lightweight players are gonna be mighty surprised, we are going to run rings round them.
Everyone will be asking, “who the fuck is that, what the fuck happened to our defense, and where the fuck did they come from???”
Mark my words, this will be a season for the record books, in the most positive way.
We haven’t bought any Lukakus or Pogbas, we have bought keen, hungry, eager to impress players, who want desperately to play in The Prem and Champions League, and we will help each other achieve our goal.
Talking of goal, our other aim, much more important, is to get Big Carl back between the sticks for our Champions League winning run, coming in the not too distant future!!!
Watch this space, boys and girls, in the words of the immortal Cheeseburger of Death…………..
Fuckin’ Wolves Ay We!!!
And all you Poolis lovers, eat your hearts out.
Yes, besides the new players coming in, we’ve got players like Graham, Zyro, Marshall, Costa, Cavaleiro. Our brilliant coach has a lot of choices , and with his knowledge and experience in using different formations, the amount of combinations could cause him some headache :=))).
Hear, hear,
I have just stuck £100.00 on at 14-1.
The squad needed a complete overhaul in order to be promotion contenders. Most of the fit players last year were very average at best (I exclude the emerging youngsters). The back four definitely had to be replaced (compare them to Huddersfield’s, different class).
I expect those identified by E&S to leave and look forward to the rest of the arrivals.
I can’t remember the last time I felt as excited and optimistic about the start of a new season. The recent signings have been far and beyond what I expected them to be. I think one of the biggest moves is Jeff Shi, his hands on involvement on a daily basis will be much welcomed, and needed.
The jealousy and childish comments from other supporters has been well documented on Twitter, Facebook and other media sites.
F*ck them all we are Wolves.
Onwards & Upwards
The Neves signing has caught attention all over the world. I wonder what Fosun does to promote Wolves as a football club further – except sending shirts to the moon :=))) It’s certainly a big market in China. And I expect the fan base in Portugal to grow. Perhaps a Wolves tv-channel is on it’s way?
All championship clubs can show all their matches this season on TV.
See wolvesTV on the wolves web site, should have been announced at the end of June.
We just can’t criticise Fosun this time they gave the chance.. they said.. they slaughtered.. and they then delivered for this season.
We need one superb striker and on paper we should win the league but we all know that it will be down to the manager who if he doesn’t deliver will also be a gonner..
Corporate international management at WV1.
Who is that striker coming in ?as I think he will..we are committed to saving face bullseye on our shirts or not..After the overkill with the defence we now need goals…
All I can think about is Afobe but I know he’s off the list ..
Rooney then….crazy?
Yeah, a bit crazy Stevie….. he’s gone to Everton.
I can’t name a striker that is available just now, but anyone who can put the ball away regularly will suit me tbh. We have been a tad shy in that department.
Hope to see you at a match sometime soon mate.
As I said in a previous thread all our Xmas’s have come at once, but when you get new toys you have to make space by clearing out those you have got tired of playing with.
Surely many of us will have have realised, but ignored the fact, that had the old squad by some miracle got us promoted they would have been bloody murdered by any half decent premier side. With the quality coming in now we have to trust the new head coach to choose those few who he thinks can cut it with the new boys and play to HIS methods and HIS philosophies. Those that he decides can go we say thanks and the best of luck wherever you end up.
Personally I don’t think many of lot who were here under Jacket can feel 100% safe and why should they. It’s a hard commercial world out there and if you can’t do the job asked of you then goodbye.
I think we will see the back of Price, Iorfa (both unfortunately ) and quite a few others with them. Hopefully he will keep the youngsters to complement the new guys and take the club from strength to strength.
I am really looking forward with some hope instead of trepidation this year. Top six should be nailed on but top two should not be much of a problem with the resources we appear to be getting.
Ticket for season kick off sorted last Saturday, not without some aggro but got there in the end. Can’t wait for kick off, summers great, the football season is better.
Really optimistic: squad built from the back which I’ve always called for. I believe this is it: onwards and forever upwards.
Warning: believed all this before (like last year) but honestly believe this is the one. Wolves ay we!
Got to admit I am looking forward to a season with lots of excitement. More so than last year because we were in a state of flux when Jeff swept in to the temple and gave us all so much hope after the years of apathy. FOSUN do take notice of the fans who were calling for a change of the guard in terms of coaches and support staff at the club. Many have been replaced. I agree with Thomas this year is different and lessons have been learned. And yes Clive FUCKIN WOLVES AY WE!
Still to be shipped out whether permanently or on loan are, I believe, Lonergan, Ebanks-Landell, Deslandes, Batth, Price, Evans, Gibbs-White and Wilson. Everyone who has gone so far I agree with.
Still to come in are, I believe, two keepers, one of which I think is John Ruddy, and a striker who I think will be Afobe.
Very excited so far though which is odd as, like many of us I guess, I’ve never seen Ofusu-Ayeh play. Or Miranda. Or Boly. Or Bennett. Or Douglas. Or even Neves.
Still I trust and believe in the club. Everything so far looks good to me. Measured well thought through signings. Overdue departures. Real signs that we are moving up to a different level.
If we’re really gonna be a consistent force and genuinely challenge next season, I can’t see how we don’t a further 5 players:
A keeper, for obvious reasons;
As Neves is quite a deep-lying defensive midfielder, someone to play alongside/ahead of him. I can’t see Nuno playing two defensive midfielders, so that may put Saiss and Price out of the equation; and is Evans, Edwards or anyone else for that matter good enough for what’s required to play in central midfield;
A no 10 who can provide consistent link-up play, creativity and, most importantly, consistent end product: assists and goals;
Given how pitiful all our strikers were in front of goal last season and the fact that the collective contributions of Costa, Cav, Graham, Marshall, Edwards and Bright is not likely to be enough to provide us with the number of consistent goals that will be required next season if we are serious about going up – relying on just one new striker to make the difference would be unfair and asking too much of him… therefore, two proven goal scorers.
If we can play at home as well as we did on the road, we can challenge.
How many players are needed to turn that around?
I’m as excited as anyone, have had a few pounds on our team to win the league, and promotion as the saver, and looking forward to a weekly dividend as we pile on the winning run !
We seem to be overlooking Dicko and Bodvarson, are we expecting them to stay or let them go ?
That Aboubakar certainly seems to be the goods, not sure about having Afobe back though.
Mind you, any of our existing squad would probably play better with the new quality players around them.
It must be fair to say with the multiple experienced views here we all would presumably like to include from the old team..
Conner Ronnon ..Jordan Graham..Eddo because he’s part of the furniture ..err.. err..
Bod…Hause…err…not sure if I’ve missed anyone..?
Slight indictment….
Yo, Bedders, what about Edwards?
You want to keep him?
He would be numero uno on my shipping list.
Adios
Vamoose

On yer bike
As the shepherd was told, get the flock out of here.
Not a big fan as you can tell!!
And no to Afobe.
Not now, not never!
He ain’t going nowhere.
Posted by Carl Ikeme via twitter.
I would hope that the advantage Carl has, being a professional sportsman, is regular and frequent health checks.
A lesson, perhaps, for us all.
Just read that John Ruddy has signed…..
Yet another quality addition …just a striker or two now and Whooooopppeeee……
Yeah Twix. Great to get such a quality player in on a free. I understand Norwich only let him go because they were struggling with his wages. Mmmm, been there done that, haven’t we?
Feeling really optimistic for this season now, things seem to be moving in the right direction. Pleased that Ruddy has signed, good competition for Carl once he’s back!
A decent striker (or two) now please and I’ll be happy.
I’m already happy Border Wolf. Easily pleased I am. 🙂
That’s because you’re such a top bloke! ?
The question mark was meant to be a smiley emoticon there!! iPads for you!!!
I did wonder. If that was a question, how was I supposed to answer? Thanks anyway lovely lady.
Costa injured in training?
Out for three months?
Now I’m depressed again. Thanks Clive. 🙁
Costa having op on ankle that was causing him problems at the end of the season, so out for at least 3 months.
Bum
Costa injury will dent our start to this seasons campaign,
Let’s hope we have enough in the locker to support this set back.
With Graham, Marshall, Cavaleiro and Zyro waiting in the wings, it’s not quite the disaster it may have been. Disappointing though for sure.
Nothing like a little strength in depth. 🙂
There, my depression is lifting again already. 🙂
Wolf, do forget young Connor Ronan too.
The difference this year is there is quality strength in depth.
Costa will be a big miss, but, there is still a solid second row.
And Clive, I’m with you re Costa conspiracies – Costa was only ever going if he really wanted too
3 x new transfer records in less than 12 months.
Potentially a superb starting 11 with a more than adequate bench for every game.
Just need a proven striker and booooooooooooooooooooooooooooom………………
There’s only one place that Geoff is taking us too and and it ain’t gonna be Wassal.
Really cannot wait for 5th August!
Well, at least all the conspiracy theorists from the end of last season have been proved right!!!
Not!!!
We were told Costa was injured, but they ALL said he was being mothballed readying him for a sale and quick profit.
Now if the two pricks from the previous era had told us he was injured………..
I’ve heard some rumors that we’ve got some undercover west brom players in the squad.
Good job we’ve got graham back
Costa s out till Christmas!
Time to bring back Billy Nasturtium!!
Will Norris 23 year old goalie from Cambridge signed, replacement for Donnie Longergone.
Brilliant penalty stopper apparently.
The first comment on this youtube video, written 11 months ago, reads:
“He probably one of the best keepers since John ruddy”(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoDSAbYJRgs )
Aboubakar has gone to Swansea.
The boy has no ambition.
FOab
Hopefully nothing is done formally. I found an article which stated that Swansea has or had a bid in, and Aboukar is interested. No confirmation online yet. Would have been a great signing for Wolves – the Wolves fans favorite target for sure.
… and they need to get past Mendes first :=)))
Shocking news! Move breaks down due to 10m agent fee!!
– Joke aside. The deal could happen and, according to http://www.squawka.com, there’s still some confusion
” Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar has revealed that he is set to join Swansea City after the Premier League club made an offer for him. The Cameroon international stated that he is “going to England”, seemingly unaware that Swansea are based in Wales. As reported by Hurriyet, Aboubakar said: “I’m going to England, Swansea has a proposal. I do not want to miss it.”
– It’s by no means a done deal though. In other words, if Wolves are still interested, we’ll know in short time.
The time is upon us: “Wolves are joint favourites with Premier League side Swansea City to sign Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar this summer, according to the latest bookmaker odds”,
– according to Thisisfootball.com.
A pity about Costa.
All the other new recruits are, as has already been mentioned, for the most part unknown quantities.
However, due to a (smallish) Lottery win, a (largish) Ascot win and a natural wish to chuck good money away, I have put a wedge on us winning the Championship.
Bring it on!
I laughed last season when everyone said Costa was being sold and I reported he was having treatment in London. Well rest didn’t work, so they’ve decided an early op is the best solution so he should be back in 8 to 10 weeks.

I’ve also been told Phil Ofuso-Ayeh has been injured in training but I’m not sure what he’s done.Explains why he’s not travelled to Austria.
Yes, that’s probably the reason. Other surprise omissions were Iorfa, the perfect wingback (if he manages to manifest his true potential), and Prince.
– The omission of Prince does probably means that he’s about to sign for the french club, or perhaps he’s staying in Wolverhampton to write a new contract with Wolves :=O. There is also speculations that Iorfa will be sold – nothing concrete though.
– Bodvarsson has been linked with Ipswich and isn’t included. Batth and Doherty are both heavily linked with a Leeds move, still they are included – surprisingly enough.
– I wonder how the transfer rumors and the uncertainty affects the players. An interview with Dicko revealed that he hoped the club could finish the business early, and that everything would settle down as early as possible. I’m a bit surprised that so few fullbacks are included in the squad: Matt Doherty, Sylvain Deslandes, Barry Douglas. It could mean that Bennet and Marshal are being considered as alternative fullbacks?
Sean O’Driscoll has joined our academy coaching staff. That’s a bit of a coup in my opinion. He was being touted as a possible manager not so long ago.
And Darius Vassell too. Things are really moving.
Can anyone out there confirm or deny a rumour I heard recently.
Is it true that the club intend, when the new WolvesTV service is up and running, to show the pre-season friendlies on a live stream?
What does the bloke see in Swansea apart from slag heaps and sheep standing in the fog and drizzle on a summer evening as your barbecue pork chops get doused in rain? Wolverhampton is much better. We have a fuckin great speedway team a theatre lots of pubs and a marvellous understanding that Sandwell is the sort of place you wouldn’t send the mother in law. What is not to like?
Aboubakar’s shooting accuracy 57 percent vs.Lukaku’s shooting accuracy 52.92 percent (the highest in premier league). Gutted if Mendes and company lets him slip away.
Great! Prolific goal scorer to coach the forwards. England international!
Who is it? Steve Bull?
No.
Never mind Billy Nasturtium Clive !
In the words of a wise old Black Country Texan .. never go back and fuck off West Brom !
So let’s think of a future replacement if costa has to go when we’re back in the Prem ?
Mendez … Portugal…mmm
Cristian Ronaldo anyone ?
Breaking news,
From the Wolves training ground, there’s fresh hope that Costa will only be out for 2 Months, not 3 as first thought. Just Carl Ikeme to mend now and life is good as a Wolves fan. What with a free scarf to all STH’s we’re in the money.
Nice with some inside info. The fans reaps fruit from the open training sessions already :=)))
25 Days to kick off. I really do want to see some strikers coming in now as I am getting a tad restless and impatient.
I have my ticket for the Boro game, and will be in the APV for a quick pint before the match.
A good solid 2-0 win to the Wolves will do me fine. Keeping it clean at the back and two new strikers scoring one each on their debuts will make me a Happy Chappy.
Tim Nash on twitter is reporting that he understands Dadi will be allowed to leave.
If this is true then we must have someone lined up to replace him.
Bodvarrson to Malmo
There are also sources which claim he could sign for Ipswich on loan. If he does ok I’m sure they will arrange it so they can buy him permanently. Old Mick’s recipe in the (g)old days.
Is that the second volume of the Oxford dictionary?
You can’t find Bodvarsson and Malmø in volume 1?
A lovely gesture by the club, assigning the No1 shirt to Carl this season.
Also, donating 10% of the gate receipts from the ‘Boro game to ‘Cure Leukemia’.
I shall be doing my bit too.
Tomorrow morning I’ll be ‘Buddying’ at the Cancer Head and Neck clinic at the RUH in Bath.
My first time – a bit nervous but I thought if I chatted about the Wolves and how we’re going to rip up the division this season it’s bound to cheer a few people up.
Just watching the Konta/Halep game on the telly.
The horrifically screeching Halep has just won the first set and was warmly applauded by her coach – Who seems to be Tony Pulis.
No wonder she keeps hitting long balls down the middle.
Just putting this out there.
Lot’s of stuff happening on the transfer scene and we’re all hanging on every word waiting for a striker (or two)
Check out:-
Alvaro Negredo (Valencia) Spaniard
Stefano Sense (Juventus) Italian
Two names that we are getting from sources.
It may come to nothing but if you look these two up, it’s the stuff of Dreams.
I once knew a girl with twelve nipples.
Sounds strange, dozen tit?
FOCFH. ……………………………
Clive,
When you say “I knew” was that a euphemism & did you really mean “I was in lurve with”?
I think a mate of mine (not me!) dated her too.
She lived just betwixt Sandwell and Smethwick…..
Her mother twas her sister, her father was he brother…..
Also, she had hair all down her back!
None on her head!
Just down her back!
I just bought a new Theasaurus from the shop, when I got it home I found out all the pages were blank.
I have no words to describe how disappointed I am.
Hyphenated
Non-Hypenated
Such Irony.
Apparently the game v Were Bremen is being streamed live on YouTube
https://youtu.be/GNTsDNWbflM
Thanks for that Sevlow. Save me having to watch Corrie anyway.
Let’s hope it’s genuine and not some spam crap
🙂
Seems like a genuine YouTube address Sev, so I’m quite hopeful.
I’m not 🙁
Still If I find a decent stream I will post it
I no longer own a thesaurus, or encyclopaedia Britannia , threw them out as I don’t need them anymore cos my 18 year old daughter knows everything!!
So did my ex-wife.
I downloaded a program called Mobdro. Had to download if from the website, not the apps store. It is Android based, incidentally.
Anyway, installed it on my Android phone and get all kinds of channels.
One is called Sports Klub 3. Went to it and it was advertising that the Wolves game was going to be shown live.
Not HD quality, at least not the free version.
http://mobdro.en.uptodown.com/android
Live stream of the game is available on the wolves website, this is only available for UK and Republic of Ireland
For fans asking for details of the new WolvesTV details, we can confirm that we’ll be streaming the match live for free on wolves.co.uk for supporters based in the UK and Republic of Ireland. This restriction is due to the agreement with the Outside Broadcast company covering the match for us. The match will kick off at 5pm UK time and you can access via the home page of wolves.co.uk
Wolves site appears to be down…..have it with foreign commentary here:
http://bundesliga-streams.net/live/hertha-livestream-1/channel-1/
A game of two halves. The first half was impressing, while the second half was a typical pre-season performance (ZZZzzzzzz). Enobakhare looked a bit light weight up front, and I think the side would have produced a better end-result with Dicko up front in the first half. Dicko came on in the second half and scored on his only chance.
I tried to follow the link but I think I stumbled on to the ‘Watching paint dry’ site by mistake.
I did get to watch the second half in the end, but on a very poor quality stream. Poor quality however, is a term you could no way use to describe Dicko’s goal, which was a superb shot across the keeper into the corner and bore all the hallmarks of the Dicko we all know and love.
A lot to be pleased with in this opening game of the NES era.
I think you and I are of like minds when it comes to Nuoah Dicko.
Given the right service, he WILL score goals.
And proved it yesterday.
Too right DG. It wasn’t just his goal. He showed pace and power throughout that second half and harried the defenders mercilessly.
I’m thinking I may well stump up for the WolvesTV coverage of the remaining friendlies. Fosun seem to be fulfilling their side of the bargain by putting their money where their mouth is and it would be churlish indeed for me not to do the same. In my own small way.

I keep saying that Dicko is the sort of striker we all want Fosun to buy. We have him already. Given a reasonably injury-free season and proper support, he is capable of 15+ goals a season. Also, he is already bedded into the championship. How much does it cost to buy such a striker? That said, we still need to buy two strikers of at least Dicko’s quality. Then we’re really motoring.
Jon Dadi will probably go to Ipswich, preferably on loan. After all, he is Mick’s wet dream, the big fella running about up front. Hopefully Mick will get him firing on all cylinders and then we hook him back just in time for our promotion to the PL…
I feel the same as guys, Dicko and Bod for me, I think with the right supply and men pushing forward alongside them, goals will come. Notable too that the second Conor Ronan came on he supplied a lovely through ball to Doherty who slotted it to Dicko.
Keep them both for me, we can still bring competition in to cover the injuries that we didn’t do last year.
To me Nuno represents a complete and exciting change in our footballing philosophy at Wolves. Lambert was simply more of the same when it came to Wolves’ coaches (Solbakken apart). Get rid of the real deadwood of course but I’m looking forward to seeing what Nuno can do improve the best of the rest with continental coaching methods. Solbakken had a go of course, but trying to transform the likes of Roger Johnson and Karl Henry was impossible.
Do we want to risk you being wrong? Let’s get another striker if one is available at the right price.
Message to self. Please write out fifty times:-
It’s Nouha Dicko not Nuoah Dicko!
But Doogle, who is going to count to 50 for you?
I was hoping Nuoah would.
Oh! Bugger!
I’ve done it again.
You are thinking of that bloke who built an ark, and his wife Joan…….
of Ark
Joan moans that it rains enough in Wolverhampton for an ark.
Go on Nuoah, give her some Dicko before Ryan Giggs gets in there.
Last nights game, looks good for a first get together. Two deadly strikes in amongst the best of that lot and we would be sorted.

Ben Marshall out for up to 3 months – thigh strain
Not good at all
Couple of things that stood out for me during yesterday’s game v WB
Willy Boly played on the left of the 3 and looked very good indeed, he looks a class act.
Coady playing in the middle – well I was surprised but fair play he did a very good job.
Batth playing on the right of the 3 even went on a run down the wing
3 at the back with Douglas and Doc as wing backs worked well.
In the 1st half we passed the ball around a lot and looked comfortable.
2nd half WB came into the game more. Dicko looked sharp and if he gets the service that was missing last season then he should bang in a few.
Neves had a few decent touches and a shot that was just off target.
Ronan looked decent but the 2nd half we seemed to take it easy.
It was just a friendly and more with getting some game time, not a great watch but these games are what they are.
Mighty Mick from Ipswich may not get his man.
Reading might have a say in it.
Anyone fancy a great Midfielder.?
Anyone fancy a great Striker. ?
