Last weekend Molineux was honoured by a rare visit from one of our most esteemed Bloggers.
His posts are things of wonder and his match predictions are legendary.
He travelled many thousands of miles to watch us thrash Newcastle United 5-1. Unfortunately, nobody told our lads about the plan.
Newcastle obliged with their goal but we fell four short of our quota.
Have you guessed who it is yet?
No, it’s not Tim. But, if you’re reading this mate, why not come over for the end of season Bloggers’ Ball? You’d be very welcome.
A few of us got together after the match for a meal and a couple of beers, and Clive – Yes! It was him all along – gave his match report.
I was accompanied, as always, by my trusty Panavision camera and full sound crew, complete with key grip, gaffer and best boy (Twixfix, Big Mark and Dougie), so I took some film of the occasion.
You might find it very boring but it’s worth sticking with until the end as I managed to get a decent view of our goal as seen from the Steve Bull upper.
Well worth waiting for!

Thanks Mark for the write-up and video.
It was great to catch up Clive. The Novotel will be a lot quieter, but a little sadder, now that he has left for the US of A. It’s a pity that his latest pilgrimage to these shores coincided with such a tired performance from the Wolves.
Cheers Dougie!
I think a certain waitress will certainly be a lot sadder now her favourite customer has left.
I think someone made a mistake giving the wrong person the password to this account.
Gibbs-White on racism.

Maybe we could make our Clive the subject of our favourite terrace song and have some nominees for an infamous Blog- Grammy awards. Hears my starter for 10:
Clive from Houston
Clive from Houston
He likes the banter
Becomes a ranter
The lads fekin magic.
1 2 3 4
Plus I think this will be the first time a song will have been written for a fan.
Nominations please. 🙂
PS Try not to keep it clean.
Thanks for putting that together Doog. Always wish I was there when I watch one of your videos. One day, some day! Good stuff!
The Kinks have nothing on you guys 😉 But tell me you guys weren’t drinking yankee beer in good old blighty. Were those Goose Island glasses on the table? (It’s actually a decent beer :-).)
Go Wolves!
Yes!
Goose Island IPA on draft!
And that particular glass has mysteriously turned up this side of the pond!
I had a wonderful time as usual, fabulously wined and dined by my fellow reprobates.
Sausages seem to be the meat of choice of our blog.
First, Matt borrows handsful for his dog last summer, then Lord and Lady Twix serve not one but two heavenly prepared sausage dishes for me!
Barbara is in the wrong job, she needs to open a pie shop.
And Ken and Carmen a fruit store!!
Thanks to each and every one of you, fine and firm friends we have all become, in a very large part due to this marvelous blog.
Thomas, the baton is well and truly passed to you for this summer’s 10th anniversary Bloggers Ball.
No pressure!!
That’s a good beer Clive. US beers have come such a long way since the 80s. Some of them are hard to beat actually, and are now brewing in Europe too (e.g. Stone brewing in Berlin – the ultimate seal of acceptance!). I keep waiting for you to visit San Diego sometime so we can sample 😉
Chuffed to bits you had a great time. Sorry I could not join you, but hope to see you in May.
Thanks, Tentman!
Wasn’t quite the same without you to fix my glasses though!!
See ya in May
If Clive can make it, I’m sure you can, GoWolves.
We can’t keep him away now!
You never know … maybe the next bloggers’ bash … 🙂
Start a … go fund me page….
That’s how Clive does it….lol
Seriously you will love every moment GoWolves… the cameraderie is unbelievable… tickets can be sorted…
My option like or not is if you are entering a competition then you try your best to progress the League Cup this season we could have gone a lot further. And for those of you thinking it’s only the League Cup then you have very short memories because it was the last major trophy Wolves won 40 years ago and I for one would have welcomed a chance to win it.
We are all fixated on the Premier League now but we are in a good position so why not try a go one further than last season and get to the final. 5 F.A Cup semi finals we have lost in my life time I would love to see us lift that famous old trophy before I depart for other worlds more than any other trophy so come on let’s give it the respect it deserves.
Just hope we put out a decent team missed opertunity in the first round I feel.
Utd seem to be taking it seriously so I hop Nuno does.
The F.A cup is speacil a couple of years ago we would have given anything to go to Old Trafford and put one over Utd so let’s not do a McCarthy and field a strong team all the fans travelling deserve that at least.
Royal Visit it certainly was…. or better phrased … Clive boy was treated like royalty.
A very enjoyable evening with such esteemed company and never short on banter and humour… especially with Clive assessing the waitresses customer service skills … live.
The poor lass must have come mighty close using some strong rhetoric language but fair play to her for keeping her cool.
I have to say it’s a great pleasure to see you mate and what you bring to this blog… (btw where do I send the food invoices to?)
Special thanks to Clive, Dougie, Barbara, Rhonda, Mark, Sue and the Doog for a great evening… and even more so to the Doog for somehow videoing the evening with the camera covertly tucked up his sleeve …!!! I can’t even recall seeing out on display… (Candid Camera … mark II)
And Yes … the KINKS should be worried after the impromptu ‘Lazing on a sunny afternoon….. ‘
Thank you my Lord!
And that wasn’t a camera up my sleeve, I was just pleased to see you.

“Cutrone? The Lord sent it to us but we also spent money …” ROCCO COMMISSO #fiorentina#cutrone
Well wasn’t that absolute shiite tonight? Just shows where our squad currently is when we bring on two full backs when chasing the game in dire need of an equaliser.
Two things … fucking robbed again . Home goal disallowed for hand ball
Away goal handball
Blatant penalty not given for hand ball
FUCK OFF
Also more than willing to help Clive get over … would like to also offer a hand to Marin Wolf who has had an awful year and has also turned up a couple of years running
But yes … if we could do a little for these dedicated bloggers who make the effort ( even if we pay the room / meal for a gesture it can only be a good thing ???
Anyone else think so ?
I saw the whole game, London, and although the crap new handball rule denied us a goal we didn’t have a blatant penalty. Gold and black blinkers methinks but we can all have those.
Too passive, too cautious, too predictable, too tired and too few players in our squad. Another game following Watford and Newcastle where the opposition were there for the taking. No point us kidding ourselves on as to how far we’ve come since the dark days etc. After a disappointing summer in the transfer market , the reality is this squad must now be mentally tired if nothing else. At times, this season, as brilliant as a handful of the performances have been, we also have often flattered to deceive and we are currently plateauing. That defeat has just dialled up the pressure on this window another notch. We have lost a bit of the excellent momentum we had at the end of last season and whilst we might not want to accept it, it has largely been of our own making. Fosun, Nuno and his staff have been superb but the next 2 weeks are looking like a real moment of truth for us in many respects.
Another year closer to the grave and out of the F.A.Cup.
Frustrated is an understatement but it shouldn’t have come to this IF we had taken this competition seriously in the first game. …….I’ve spent a lot of money tonight and given up a day off so i don’t care how many of you dislike my blog we should have got this done a Molinuex put out the first team . DONT enter the f…ing competition if you are not serious because me and thousands of other fans buy tickets and spend hard earned money in the off chance your lack of respect will pay off….F..Ing anoid.
For f. … Sake get some transfer in this SMALL sqaud needs help if this season isnt going to piss…!
What a frustrating night!
Watching on Hesgoal, which spends more time buffering, or telling me my computer has a million viruses, or my Flash Player is out of date, and trying to download stuff from some bizarre website to fix it all, than showing me the game.
Well, it’s a free stream I hear you say. Why not subscribe to BT Sport you bloody skinflint?
Fair point, very well made.
I thought we started off really well last night, and should have been a couple of goals up by half time. After that, United grew stronger and we grew much, much weaker.
And then, the dreaded VAR. Although that wasn’t at fault this time, it was the stupid handball rule. Why should accidental handball in the penalty area be different for attackers and defenders?
Anywhere else on the pitch it would count the same, but over that narrow white line, it suddenly becomes different.
Someone please explain that to me.
I am getting VERY worried about Raul. He’s seemed off the pace for a few weeks now, and last night he looked absolutely shot!
Earlier in the season, he would have buried that early chance that he merely passed back to their ‘keeper.
I’m also worried about Ruben Neves.
What has happened to his shooting?
Used to be that he would shoot from outside the area, the net would bulge and he’d be running away, index finger tapping his forehead in his trademark celebratory style.
Now he hoofs the ball, IT ends up in row Z, and his head ends up in his hands.
Someone please explain that to me.
Also, I agree with Paul Featherstone.
If we were serious about The FA Cup, why didn’t we play a full strength side at Molineux, when we had our best chance of beating United? Instead of having to replay when we could be resting our lads for the Southampton game.
Someone please explain that to me.
