It’s three weeks until Christmas but there’s nowt to feel merry about around Molineux these days.

We haven’t won a game since October, the manager is under scrutiny, our settled back four has once again been disrupted and Jez Moxey won’t rule out offloading our star striker in the new year.
If ever there was a time we needed the players to pull out a couple of performances to banish the winter blues, it’s now.
They should have beaten MK Dons last weekend. They were easily the better team but just couldn’t break the lock.
This one looks a tougher game, away from home against a resurgent Rotherham side looking for a third straight victory.
Rotherham
Neil Redfearn was an interesting appointment after Steve Evans’ departure from the club he’d guided through the divisions.
He started with some tough fixtures and heavy defeats, but has won the games they’ve needed to in recent weeks against fellow strugglers.
They’ll feel this game is winnable too given our indifferent form and the fact they beat us in the corresponding fixture last season.
Goals conceded has been the major problem. The 33 they’ve shipped overall and the 18 they’ve let in at home both represent the league’s worst record.
Back-to-back cleansheets in their two most recent victories suggest Redfearn is doing something to remedy the problem though.
Wolves
With Mike Williamson back at Newcastle, it seems likely Ethan Ebanks-Landell will return to the back four.

It’s a crying shame to lose Williamson, particularly as nobody in the north east seemed that bothered to be letting him go and he’d slotted in nicely alongside Danny Batth.
Ebanks-Landell is just too cumbersome and error prone to be a viable replacement. He has the raw attributes but I’m not sure he has anywhere near the same potential as Iorfa or Hause.
Given that we never seemed to have more than one person in the box against MK Dons, Kenny might be tempted into playing a second striker at the New York Stadium.
Would it be worth trying Grant Holt alongside Benik Afobe to see if he could take some of the pressure off our talisman in terms of holding the ball up and linking the play?
Predictions
Don’t feel as confident about this one as I did at home to MK Dons.
They’ve got their tails up whereas Wolves seem to be feeling a bit sorry for themselves lately.
That said, if we can remain solid at the back and not give anything away, I’d back us to score.
Based on the fact I don’t think we’ll be solid defensively, I’ll opt for a score draw.
1-1
Up The Wolves!

A disaster in the making of ever there was one. I still remember the 16 goals shared 2 seasons ago.
Things can only get better………….sing along….alright not all at once!
Putting politics to one side, they played that record at Tony Blairs victory night…….
More importantly has anyone heard of what became of the band members who went by the name of Prof. Brian COX………
Things look pretty dire at the moment – can only be 3 points and a clean sheet then!!
As I said in an earlier post EBL will never make a decent player as long as he has a hole in his arse.
If KJ picks him we have absolutly no chance of a clean sheet. Move Iorfa to partner DB and bring in Doherty at right back. Time for Henry to be given a rest as well and try Byrne on the right. Play 2 up front for once straight forward 4-4-2 with either ALF or Holt with Afobe, can’t be any worse than the last few weeks.
I will be very intereseted in Stuwolf’s comments after the game if EBL plays, suspect one or two computers might melt with the heat given EBL’s limited (non existant) abilities.
I don’t think Afobe is out of form, he just needs help up top!! I would like to see Grant Holt given a start to see what the two can do together!! C’mon me Babbies!!
I don’t usually support drug taking, it can only result in heartache for everyone but the suppliers.
Thomas,
If your’e putting EBL in your line up, I’m phoning Seb Coe and reporting you, the man is a plank, with limited ability suicidal tendancies in giving the ball away, ( EBL is not much better).
Tipton Exile, you can be sure of it mucker, if he’s the answer then I’m Billy the Fish.
So with this in mind and my temper at boiling point, I’m going for a…. Wait for it,….wait for it….

Any takers where their goal will be gifted from????
There has never been a better time for all our players to step up to the plate, with potential buyers lurking around the property we need to show some Gonads.
Onwards & Upwards
Moxey and Morgan, up yours & outwards.
The Club is being used by the ‘con-men’ who own it.
The type of people who sell worthless shares.
Their greed outweighs victory or defeat.
Personally think fans should stay away from giving them money.
It is the only language they understand….
Moxey is a disgrace to humanity.
Robin, At 11 o/c yesterday morning I was having this conversation with a Newcastle fan and a Rangers fan, we reached the same conclusion as you, but it won’t happen.
We did however all agree that it’s the only way hit them in the pocket where it hurts.
We should win, we really need to win this if only to move away from the relegation zone which is looming ever closer. I’m not sure I can take another relegation and I’ve seen very little over the last couple of months to make me think we’re too good to go down.
I have been its on the edge of a moor at the back of a pub 2-1 to them.
With Syria and all that..it’s as if the club also is at war on at least 3 fronts and I must say it’s almost exhausting as a Wolves fan looking on..
I was genuinely shocked with the Moxey statement recently…
after all the hand wringing and stress of having to accept that we were not good enough to keep Sako we are now faced with yet another situation with Afobe ..Moxeys words IMO were Morgans..more tragedy..
Then there is the defence situation where I thought I was vindicated re EBL and a Saint materialised in the name of Williamson.. tradgedy there.
The Alamo is back …
Then we have a manager who’s unsettled but unable to deal with why we can’t win..
Then of course there is the club up for sale and supporters who are scratching their heads as to what’s going to happen..
We should be able to slaughter Rotherham in there own back yard
but let’s see if we can pick up the pieces ..
Some one has to shine in all this I hope it’s Jordan Graham who should have a great match against this lot..
As for Afobe whatever must he be thinking…
We need a buyer..
A few choice words came out when I saw that Williamson had been recalled!
However things have to change at some point so a win to start things off.
Come on Wolves
It is starting to feel like December and January might be a long couple of months for us. I can’t see many coming in through our doors in the New Year, but the comments about Afobe don’t exactly give confidence that there won’t be any outs. I’m going for a draw more out of hope than expectation.
A draw or a 5-0 win. I can’t make up my mind.
November is the month when we produce our worst form. December has arrived and I now expect them to go on a run of wins, starting with Rotherham.
I would play Holt up front with Benik and put Dave on the bench.
It seems that Mike Williamson has tweaked his hamstring during training at Newcastle, I feel sorry for the lad.
We’re in total disarray, both on and off the pitch.
Going on a bit from the 6-4 this will be a xmas cracker. The swirling gales will be a nightmare for their goalie who usually enjoys calm weather and tuna sandwiches. It will be no surprise to see calamity after calamity. The coaches will be wincing at the terrible defending on show and an escaped Lion will invade the pitch causing yet more confusion in Utd’s defence. A rampant James Henry will punish the sloppy defending whilst also cleverly avoiding being eaten by the Lion. If it’s not windy then it will be 0-0.
My god Cheeseburger, that sounds like a cricket score. Talking of cricket I remember that you might be at the second test in Cape Town. I’ve just booked for myself and girlfriend through CricketTours.com. Know any good pubs down there?
Optimism reigns. Clean sheet? I must be mad but what the heck! You never know what you are going to get with this bunch.
Ebanks Landell with the winner 🙂
And the winner of the Chocolate Brownie is……..
🙂
At the NYC two years ago we had front row seat. We were 3 1 down with Dicko a one man battering ram. The look on Kevin Doyle’s face as they took yet another corner said it all, how has it come to this? I know now how he felt.
I never get a score right. If we can’t beat bloody Rotherham I’ll give up trying.
With you on this one, however with Williamson gone I cannot see up keeping a clean sheet. Hopefully play 2 up front (afobe and Holt) and score three.
I have no idea how this one might go.
I doubt we can be tight and tidy at the back with the loss of Williamson and then the gift that EBL and Goldbourne will give up between them!
As for up top, I think we should go for two up there. I said it on the post match blog from the MK Dons game, let ALF run them and Holt bully them, and send Ben10 on for a 30 minute cameo to light the place up.
If that happens, he’ll bag two, including the winner, as we would have to come from 2-1…

Hi Madbandit … I’ve sent you an email about tickets for READING… can you give us an answer on it please … Ta
I’m really having difficulty listening to KJ on the preview – wolves player ..
Everything is rosy then…
I’m really having difficulty listening to KJ, wherever he is interviewed or quoted at the minute….
Afobe to score, set up by Fanny Draham, and Conor Coady, on as a second half sub for the injured Price, to get the second with a 30 yard screamer. I know coz I dreamt it last night. What the hell Liz Hurley, Carol Vorderman, Kylie Minogue and Kate Beckinsale were doing lining up for The Millers I have no idea!
As long as Charlize Theron and Sofie Marceau line up for Wolves I don’t care what the score is, I’m in Heaven.
Now there’s two individuals I would give up my Season Ticket for.
Yeah but as we all know Theron plays centre half for Rochdale and Marceau is inside right at Exeter. Come on Stu, get real! Neither of them gals are Championship material.
Totally racked off with what that fat toad greaseball controller spewed forth at the propaganda meeting the other night.
He’s fuller of shit than Bilston Sewer Works
If he was in Texas they would use him for an oil well, he spins so fast
Actually, if he was in Texas, he wouldnt be, if y’all get my drift
Last win of the year tomorrow, by the narrow margin of 5 – 1
Cheeseburger for manager
Sigh:
The best chippy in the Black Country is in Bilston, so I’ve re-written the one line Clive:
He’s nearly as full of shift as you get at the Poorthorns. But only neatly.
And the other thing you’ve missed off my old mucker:
FOWB
Good call on our next Manager though!!!!!
I fear the worst!!
Me too Johnny.
Wilkinson was v. solid and was a good organiser. EEL is not a quality replacement.
UTW!
Thank God I got that wrong!
COMBs!
Well I usually go to this fixture as its only two train stops from Chesterfield where I work. Even allowing for the fact that the 6-4 game between these two sides was one of the most enthralling and exciting games I`ve been lucky enough to witness in my 65 years of watching football, I`m sorry I can`t be bothered to travel tomorrow.
When the CEO says the club can`t be bothered either, and we could sell our star striker in January, why exactly should any wolves fan be bothered either. I salute those who have purchased tickets.
I`m going to see my 3 year old grand daughter tomorrow morning and watch my lad captain his village side in a top of the table clash. No overpaid under achievers on view for me. With a 2pm ko I will have sky on back home around 4.20pm and hope we actually manage to win a game, we need the points as everyone is painfully aware, possible even Moxey.
Enjoy your day Mark.
Agree with all you say……
Dances with wolves. Head for the V and A waterfront. There are a number of bars round there. One of them had sports tv inc prem league fa cup etc. Quay 4 was the barmy army pub last time. Prob see you about down there for brighton wolves game on 1st jan.
I carnt see anything but a defeat with Ivan Lendall at the back, Jacketts NEGATIVE tactics and his chopping and changing , our form and you know the players aren’t daft they’ve seen the reports about Afobe posiblally going there one or thing I could be going too so what’s the point.
I’ve tryed all season ( feels like its been going on forever already ) to be positive but there just a massive wall of negativity and what ifs at the moment and the prats in charge seen to be revealing in watching us suffer……sorry but that’s how I feel.
This season is never going to get going for us no matter how much the e & s keep up their headlines. If we do well we’ll finish mid table. Looking forward to the bridge Inn tomorrow, might pop in the ground after to check the score. Weaknesses at the back will cost us. 2 1 Rotherham
Brompton Rover’s ground is only 15 min walk from my house – yipee. Downside is they only play on a Sunday, so I still have not sorted my Saturday football fix.
We are all over the place just now, but I still think we will nick it, with a clean sheet to boot, with EBL having a blinder (!!!!!!)
So ………………………..
At least it’s not on TV
Consensus seems to be that we’ll win this so I’m going for a loss
Despite trying to stay upbeat all season, after reading Moxey’s comment re Afobe I was hit by a wall of negativity. Without leadership we have no direction, and leadership responsibility stretches beyond Messrs Batth and Jackett all the way into the boardroom. The club is a rudderless ship going nowhere and the players are doubtless aware of that. I can see some depressing weeks ahead.
Rudderless ships go down, without someone to bail them out……
We need a win and I think we will win as long as he doesn’t play EEL.
Some encouraging news from the e&s with potential bidders for our club, only hope its not poxey with backing from morbid.
Does anyone know what’s happening with Siggy,is he still unfit to play.
He’s playing in the U21s tomorrow, he’s still not ready, he’s been out for 4 years so another couple of weeks won’t hurt him. he played in the last U21’s a week or so ago and I didn’t realise he was playing and he was subbed at half time. I think it’s taking a while to get the Molde out of his boots. 🙂
Toxic Moxey has him pencilled in to take Afobe’s place after the January sales.
Just ‘ate me takeaway; chicken & chips since you ask. Time for Wolves to takeaway the 3 points tomorrow.
If we play one up front can he play up front rather than in the centre circle.
Give Holt a game and we may have a chance. I’m not suggesting that Holt is the answer but at least he’ll play up front
Crikey it’s bleak reading on this blog these days. EEB with heroic effort to calm the nerves of all there, and we control the rest of the game, relaxing too soon and give away a sloppy consolation.
Despite the negativity, and even though I’m expecting us to slip closer to the drop zone, I’m sticking with my prediction.
I must be right….once this season
I’ve absolutely no idea why I’m going for this. It’s a little too early for Christmas but a win would be a nice present.
Not a good feeling about this one. That might be a good thing because I have got so many predictions wrong this season!
Another draw I reckon. Just can’t see us winning at the moment. 1-1.
Will be a rocky road through Rotherham but it could be a turning point for us.. cumbersome defenders or not I feel a win in me bones (may be just wind mind you)
Good or bad QPR have appointed JFH as their new manager,Jackett as still got his coat hanging on the nail on the back of the door.
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs …..
you probably haven’t realised just how bad the situation is
Problem: Lose a defender
Solution: Play one of the several who have screwed up before
Problem: Difficulty in scoring
Solution: Think about selling your main striker
Problem: Need an inspiring new owner
Solution: Scrape together some funds and put together a ‘clipboard’ consortium
When did we fall down the rabbit hole?
It’s funny how Kennys been quiet he hasn’t commented or even hinted how he feels on the possibility of losing his best player come January if that doesn’t convince you he a yes man then nothing will.
A lot of manager would resign or seek assurances it not going to happen will they still expect him to keep us up…..you bet they will just shows how weak Jackett is in the board and M & M eyes.
Perfect DNA for Wolves Manager …GUTLESS…
Wolves win……………………………….
Phew
What a sad lot of outpourings to wade through to get to my turn here
Having forecast loss at lpswich and win vs mkds I think a 3 peat of draws is on cards at Rotherham
But how sad is that? And if I’m wrong again then we either win or lose …think I’m even starting to look forward to a televised wolves match
Won’t be long before anti depressants are dispensed in black and old gold packaging
Or are they already out there?
The only ones who care right now are the fans, and we’re not playing.
I head for Rotherham more in hope than optimism today. The pre match tension of trying to work out what side kj will play is now almost as exciting as the game itself. I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet without the organisation Williamson brought to the defence but hopefully we will take something from the game and a win would be great!
This is the last Saturday I have got to work . Can’t wait to get back to watching wolves .
Fucking cross rail shite !!
Come on me babbies
…roll on the new year.
Sigh. I can’t see things getting any better, just seems our club is on a downward spiral.
It’s another underwhelming performance at the NYS.
Defence weakened since last week and Rotherham baying for 3 wins on the spin…. leaves me thinking of another draw…..
Talking of Spin …. my goodness what a jerk ….
Well I’m on the coach ready to go and there’s a rather nasty rumour all round the ground, they have dropped Afobe.
The other bit is, he is not feckin happy about it.
Talking to his dad he said, “there’s no way he wants to leave Wolves”
Maybe he will be changing his mind now.
Kenny the Tinkerer strikes again?????
We wait with bated breath.
So, EBL and Holt saviours of our season. It’s definite, Things can only get better!
🙁
Stu, where’s Jackett stand in all this as much as I detest McCarthy I carnt imagine him excepting the sale of his best player/ players half way through the season and still be expected to stay in this League.
If he has been dropped then its almost certain the board are going to sell him because they carnt sell an injured player.
If Kenny is party to this then I for one will never forgive him it’s asset stripping and it immoral.
A couple of guys on here thought we should start with Bolt and Le Fondle, after we wear them out bring on Afobe with fresh legs and a point to prove, I’m not to far off agreeing. But if he’s dropped from the bench then we are Fecked beyond belief. Our only hope is, we get sold quick and the new owners put the block on any approach for Afobe
Suely Kenny is part of this, he thinks EBL is a player worth using over Deslandes. IMO only he’s a yes man and a bit weak, he cannot be making all these crap decisions this season on his own, Can he?
Shiley Knot.
got to go for the win we need to get going now to strand any chance of getting into the playoffs so COYW
With no Williamson we have to try to play in their half. ALF and Afobe up front, Graham and Byrnie the Bolt out wide. Hopefully some of Iron Mike’s calmness and organisation will have rubbed off on our lads and EEL will surprise and delight us all.
Even my boundless optimism is beginning to wear a bit thin now, but I know from long experience that this is when our sleeping heroes tend to rise from their slumbers and confound all their critics.
Hope so anyway.
Depression has finally reached the shores of Wight and it’s all doom and gloom for me. Might as well flog Afobe if some sucker is willing to cough up £8million because he sure sure as hell won’t make much difference to this team while it is led by a tactically deficit spud.
Just got up after a lie in and a nice cuppa snuggled up to the PMDG’er.
We were listening to ‘Saturday Live’ on Radio 4. Anybody else catch it?
It was broadcast from the house of a family called Farmer, who live near the Mol and featured the delectable Susie Perry who was doing a great selling job for the City and the Club.
All the famous Wolves fans got a mention and if they all got together they would make a great consortium to buy the whole Shebang.
Apart from Edward Elgar of course.
Wolves to win.
Heard a bit of it. I’d certainly go for a consortium of famous Wolvws fans rather than Bernie B Ecclestone whose name has started to appear. But I guess I’ll end up cheering Iike everyone else if we end up in something similar to Leicester’s situation, just like I keep handing money over to Murdoch!
A draw is not good emough really, and it may be time to start looking at the teams below us as the season is close to slipping away.
It has to happen sooner or later. No clean sheet likely with the defence that Kenny will select.
We have to win at some point, perhaps it will be today.
We have been inconsistent recently I’m hoping that will lead is to sneak a performance just when we need it!
Just heard the team sheet – ALF to score a brace! Come on me babbies!
kjhfkjhfkahfksajhfkahfkahfkashfkashffhjks
We did ok today. A solid performance rather than spectacular. Graham looks promising and is worth encouraging. Le fondre worked hard but up front on his own but wins very little in the air and struggles to hold the ball up. If iorfa and Henry could improve their quality of delivery into the danger area I think we would score a lot more. Ebanks landell generally did ok after a nervy start. All in all 6 out of 10 type game but result was all important. Let’s hope they can build on it ????
I love the sound of the word, Billionaire, has a much nicer ring to it than Thick rich Scouse builder.
Just to add an air of optimism to proceedings, Google “James Stunt” (this is not a piss take) £7 Billion , £7 feckin Billion.
Now just imagine how you would feel if you were the Reubens and found out this guy was in the hat at Molineux.
Now!
The Reubens are selling Wolverhampton racecourse, (are they raising funds for something, theyr’e already very rich)
Berni Ecclestone is selling Silverstone ( he’s also already very rich, but! He’s also the father in law of James Stunt)
It’s begining to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere around.
And, EBL had a half decent game yesterday.
Christmas, the time for miracles. (Dare to dream) the fat controller may be ideal for a Scouse brickie, but he wouldn’t last ten seconds under a billionaire with a money brain.
Are you really sure about EBL, half decent? I need convincing proof
Love it, absolutely ace, it could only happen in Wolverhampton.
PMSL.
How can anyone related to Bernie Ecclestone make it begin to look a lot like Christmas?? That really adds to my increasing sense of disillusion!
Peakwolf.
As footy fans we are mere cannon fidder for their pleasure to do with us as they will and they do. It won’t matter 1 iota who bankrolls us, they all want the same thin’g, that’s what being mega rich does for you.
Our only hope is we can put together a side, build a decent waterproof environment in which to support the team amd get entertained by whoever pulls on the shirt. We can beat a drum and protest as much as we want, Bob the builder is untouchable, he has his millions and we are but shite on his shoe. I have never been under any disillusion about the worth of a footy fan to those ruining our game.
The fans Parliament prove whay Moxey thinks of the “Wolves family” zFamily my anorak.
Iv’e lived the dream, but this lot running us are a reality check, Fred West would take more care of the “Wolves family” than M&M
All too true, Stu! The wise words of a man who’s been beaten around in the football ring for many a long season and keeps the colours flying.
EBL’s first two touches he headed straight onto the feet of Rotherham players, but to be honest he settled down and on one occasion Batth passed to a Rotherham player who then shot at goal and it was EBL who got Batth out of jail with a Stearman like throw your body at the ball save.
Henry and Danny Fraham formed a fantastic partnership yesterday, Graham kept coming across to the other side which really messed with the Rotherham players heads.
As it comes from you I will abate my criticsm of him fir a while but, I reserve the right to still think he is crap.
Good to hear about Graham who I really rate.
What is wrong with Mcdonald, what injury
My dad always taught me not to kick a man when he’s down. In your words he will never make a footballer as long as he has a hole up his aspidistras. But credit where it’s due, but for him yesterday it would have been 2-2.
Brompton Rovers just beat top of the table Richmond Harriers 4-1 with a cracking display. Back home now for a late lunch. Looking forward to next Sunday.
As for Wolves – nice 3 points. I hope this is the start of a climb.
Got your card Stu. Thank Jen from me and Jill please. Hope to see you sometime in 2016.
Why was McCarthy still wearing a poppy?
To do with his recent dealings in Heroin???????
Ooops Straight Red
EBL fan here..as you all know I’ve always harped on about his potential.
KJ just got it right there..as always..
It’s obviously all the scathing that’s made him play well…but..if he did play well then fantastic.
As regards the Reuben’s if we were bank rolled by them I’d celebrate for a year..
#3 points towards normality..
Nawww Steve, I think you Tipton and I will be poved right, but the lad put a shift in in the colours so fair play.
I’ll take James Stunt and Berni Ecclescake, mega dosh of obscene proportions
Great result and totally unexpected still not convinced by Ivan Lendall put he did play better than I expected he still gives he ball away to often and against better opersition the result would have been different.
Thing is he panics when he gets the ball like its a bomb if he took a couple of seconds and looked up for a gold shirt he would give the ball away so much it simple and why he isn’t being told this or coached this I don’t know………….Kenny !
Yep..
when you see Williamson rally the back and settle it down that’s the sort of guy we need. Was a great loan and I wanted us to buy him ..perhaps a bit too old ..U21s could produce another Iorfa who I swear will play for England…
EBL needs training as you say but I often wonder wtf we do…
Not 83-14 but close and James Henry scored as predicted. 17 more wins and play offs! Just seen the Rueben brothers in the KFC on the Penn Road. Either that or it was Mosad under cover. Well probably.
