As we’ve done it for the last two seasons, I thought I’d keep up the tradition of posting end-of-season marks for each individual player.
Please note that ratings are based on the contribution that each specific player could reasonably be expected to make in the appearances they made.

Wayne Hennessey – Made more saves than any other keeper in the Premiership – not that he had much choice. Personally, I thought he had a strong season that was slightly tarnished by a few soft goals and gaffes. 8/10
Dorus De Vries – Didn’t get a kick in the league until the dying embers. Acquitted himself reasonably, but couldn’t halt the avalanche of goals conceded. 7/10
Carl Ikeme – Got the second half against Wigan, but nothing else. Can’t really judge. 7/10
Kevin Foley – Injuries prevented him having anywhere near the same impact as previous seasons. But even when he did play, he rarely reached the standards he’s capable of. 5/10
Ronald Zubar – Another one plagued by injury for large chunks of the season. Same old Zubar when he was out on the pitch – flitting between sublime and ridiculous. 5.5/10
Matt Doherty – Came on at Anfield and impressed. Not seen much of him since. Obviously has ability but faces stiff competition, particularly if Zubar hangs around next season. 7/10

Roger Johnson – Looked the business for a handful of games at the start, but soon went bankrupt. Had a mini revival around Christmas, notably away at Arsenal and Spurs before things turned really sour. Hasn’t helped himself with comments on and off the field. 4.5/10
Richard Stearman – Somehow started the season as first choice right-back, but thankfully ended up playing more games in the middle where he belongs. For the most part, he did alright. 5.5/10
Christophe Berra – Impressed me with his consistency throughout the first half of the season. Got on with his job and didn’t make any mistakes. Went downhill badly from December onwards though. 5.5/10
Jody Craddock – Injuries destroyed his season. Only got on the pitch once – at home to Sunderland – but limped off before the end. 7/10
Stephen Ward – Played every minute of the Premier League season. Immense for the first 10 games, but couldn’t maintain the standard and put in some woeful performances when we desperately needed better. Probably the pick of our defenders though, which says it all. 7/10
George Elokobi – With Wardy dominating the left-back slot, poor George didn’t really get a sniff. Looked very poor on the odd occasion he emerged from the bench. Could he do better in the middle? 4/10

Michael Kightly – A small glimmer of hope in an otherwise miserable season? Finally fit again and discovering the form we know he’s capable of. Superb goals that should have proven vital against Aston Villa and Bolton were turned to dust by his team mates inability to defend. 7/10
Stephen Hunt – I remember being very impressed with Hunt in the opening 3 games, but his form went down the toilet with the team. Injuries didn’t help, but are we wrong to expect better? 4.5/10
Adam Hammill – Sure he’s raw, but on the rare occasion he made it onto the pitch, his raw talent was plain to see. I just don’t think Mick had the patience to iron out the kinks. Maybe Ståle does? 5/10
Karl Henry – You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. In the games he was injured or suspended – which were numerous – the midfield was completely lost. Coupled with Frimpong’s injury, his absence was a significant nail in our coffin. I could have strangled him for his petulance in the Villa game. 7/10

Emmanuel Frimpong – Thought he was our saviour after impressive outings against Chelsea and Spurs, capped by a scintillating 45 minutes at home to Villa. Gone for good a week later at QPR. What might have been hey? 8/10
Nenad Milijas – Nenad must have been on the fags more than usual this season, as he barely got a kick. Why TC never gave him a go as the season quietly slipped away I’ll never know. That said, he was average at best when he did get on. 5/10
Dave Edwards – I love and hate him in almost equal measures. Not the sort of player who can win you a game single-handedly, but always puts in a shift for the team. To his credit, I would say he’s one of only a few players whose standards didn’t drop. 6.5/10
Adlene Guedioura – See ‘Adam Hammill’. 5/10
Eggert Jonnson – It’s not his fault is it? Looked a yard off the pace to me whenever he played though. 4/10
David Davis – Finally made the breakthrough and impressed in the handful of games he played. More to come hopefully. 6.5/10
Jamie O’Hara – The club have openly admitted they put huge faith in the impact he’d have over the course of a full season. He most definitely didn’t live up to the billing. Score some important goals against Wigan and Swansea, but never really got going. Injuries seemed to be a problem throughout. 5/10

Matt Jarvis – My personal choice for player of the season. Not always on top form, but the only player capable of dragging us forward and asking a question of the opposition. Starting to score goals now too. A shame he’ll probably leave. 8.5/10
Anthony Forde – Another youngster to make the breakthrough and looked capable enough. Thrown in at the deep end against Arsenal at the Emirates and came through impressively. 7/10
Johnny Gorman – Handed a cameo at Carrow Road as Wolves chased the game, but didn’t really make an impact. Looked ok though. Will he get more action next season? 7/10
Kevin Doyle – Poor. Terrible in fact, by his standard. And it pains me to say that. I don’t know what’s happened to him this season. Goals have always been an issue, but his performance levels have been well below par. Still does his best work alone up front. 3.5/10
SEB – 1 solitary league goal for a player whose all about goals is not a good return. Granted, he only made 22 appearances int total and just 7 starts, but he should have contributed more. 3/10
Steven Fletcher – 12 Premier League goals is an excellent return for Fletch, given the team he was playing in. I would have liked to have seen more from him in terms of overall play, but that’s only because he sets a certain standard. 8/10
Well, those are my marks.
What do you reckon?

apart from henners , fletch and jarvis who i think all deserve 8/10 the rest of the squad id give 1/10….ok we lost the manager but nothing else much changed from then on apart from the lack of goals and points.i reckon if we had some more experienced players and a sober captain the heads wouldnt have stayed dropped and confidence would have returned………
Astonished, appalled, bewildered and confused in equal measure at this one.
I don’t understand why you’d be any of those things as regards this post.
It’s cos you didn’t blame the fans
Sounds like just bewildered and confused to me.
You can’t seriously give Roger Johnson 4.5 out of 10? Especially considering you are basing this on how well it was expected they would perform. The guy has been a total and utter disgrace, on and off the pitch. I’d give him 0, seriously.
I suspected I might get some grief for Roger’s score.
If I was taking off the field conduct into account, which I wasn’t, it would have certainly been lower. I grant you that.
However, I think if you didn’t know any of the background to the season and just watched all his appearances compared to those of the other center-halves, he was the poorest, but not by all that much.
Just trying to be objective.
Regardless of your score for him Thomas, I think Johnson has damaged himself terribly in terms of reputation. I’d be surprised if he ever plays in the Premiership again, and I hope that we do get rid of him to the first club who shows any interest. You could just see that his attitude stank.
In general Thomas I think you sum it up well. I would mark Johnson down significantly…as he was captain I think you have to look at his conduct on and off the pitch…and take into account it’s impact on the whole team…for that fact I would rate him at -1 and call for Staale to sack him…(as he has done to players previously!) Have been impressed with Davis and hope to see a lot more of him…and like you wonder what went on behind closed doors to reduce Hunt and Doyle (seasoned professional) to shadows of their former selves!
I’m pretty sure that Doyle was quoted as saying that battling constantly against relegation (combined, one would imagine, with playing up front alone against two Premiership quality CBs) was grinding him down.
Don’t really blame him – hopefully if he does stay he will thrive under Staale’s style of play, but I guess there would be several teams towards the bottom of the Prem interested.
Wow a squad average of 6/10 across all 29 players for a team who were 4 wins off safety. Maybe the scoring system is flawed.
A slight worry for me is that Stale Solbakken is going to watch the DVDs of the 38 games and Kevin Foley, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Adam Hammill and Adlene Guedioura’s contribution is going to look miserable… but they are four guys I genuinely think could help us get promoted.
In particular, Foley and Ebanks-Blake could have few complaints if they were frozen out on the basis of 2011/12 – but we *know* they are more than capable of being brilliant in the Championship.
No mystery why either, really. You’re after a very different skillset – Foley isn’t the quickest so he got the odd roasting in the Premier League. But with the ball at his feet (which you’d think is going to happen a lot more) he’s going to outclass Championship wingers.
Similarly with Ebanks-Blake. He needs players around him, bodies in the box and, yes, the odd shit defender and he’ll have a field day. In the top flight, he was getting the ball 50 yards out which isn’t his game.
Conversely, someone like Dave Edwards is basically a runner – much better without the ball than win it. He scored three goals in 26 games in this Premier League season – and three goals in 44 games in our Championship-winning campaign. Puts in a shift without the ball, but could well be infuriating when we’re dominating games.
I know it’s a slightly different point but just a thought.
I agree, on the evidence available on the DVDs the players you mentioned contributed less, but on the other hand they barely played. So let’s hope that Staale gives them a fair crack of the whip and listens to reports about them by people who’ve been at the club for longer. That seems like the sensible thing to do.
It’s common knowledge that Adlene did well at Forest, so you’d think he’d take that into account.
Ade matey, when are you back in good old China? You’ve had a vacation even longer than Conner’s winless streak!
Thomas – pretty good descriptions (except for Forde – I scratch my head: what did he do to make you think he is ‘capable enough’?), but you’ve been very generous with all the marks. I’d lop at least one or in some cases two points off each of them.
Soon mate, I’ll be back on Saturday…it has been immense here, way better than China! I am seriously contemplating emigrating!
I am planning another trip to HK sat 25th to meet up with my older bro who’s passing through on biz, a beer perhaps?
It promises to be an altogether gentler affair than the sevens, and I might even remember my phone this time!
Cheers Ade. Glad you enjoyed (are still enjoying!) Oz. It’s even better when England are down there winning cricket matches 8)
Yes, I will be around so give me a call if you come to town (25th is Friday though?!)
Evening mate. I personally think you’re at least 1 mark too high on most of them. Top analysis as always, but way too generous for the 3rd worst squad in the history of the Premier League!
Perhaps I was on the generous side. In truth, I spent so long writing the analysis, I probably didn’t put enough time into the marks.
I would say though that the players were so badly mismanaged for most of the season in terms of tactics and strategy, they were made to look worse than they actually were.
It is difficult to consider Johnson’s season without taking into consideration all the off field bullshit we’ve endured from him. The decision to make him captain was one of many forks in the road of our season which ultimately led to the championship, along with such moments as frimpong’s injury, the sacking etc, the second half against villa, henry’s red at arsenal, I could go on…
For his fundamental inability to do his job as leader of the team and the defence, for individual defensive lapses which cost us too many games to count, and for both the fracas with hennesey (on the pitch) and his display at Wigan (near enough the pitch to count) I’d give him 1/10 at the most. Half a point for each of the first 2 games and he can fuck off for the rest.
There are another four marks crucial to the failure of our season, the 3Ms and TC.
McCarthy – he bought the players that didn’t work, he picked the teams that didn’t win, he told the team their ‘tactics’, and he made Johnson captain. The big displays and dogged resistance his management had precipitated in previous seasons evaporated 1/10
Morgan – I still like Morgan, and I think (or hope very much) that he has learned some huge lessons this season, and I think the appointment of Solbakken a welcome antidote to McCarthy, Connor, Bruce, McLeish, Warnock et al.
All that said, his interventions this season have been nothing short of catastrophic and for entering the dressing room, the timing of the sacking, the lack of a back up plan and ensuing appointment of TC he is equally to blame as MM. 1/10
Moxey – this is the chap who looks after the commercials. The one who decides how much we offer for fees and salaries. The one surely most to blame for our over reliance on the championship squad. To compound this woeful level of inadequacy he then takes every opportunity to spout ludicrous gobshite to the press, and even (allegedly) insulted the fans at the parliament. 1/10
Connor – hard to dislike this loyal, eager, hard working chap, even despite the deluded post match comments. For both effort and attainment I’ll give him an average of 3/10
*Milijas’ red at Arsenal
D’oh! of course!!
Although Henry did get sent off at Arsenal the season before!!
Blimey mate, what’s happened to your ‘try smiling, it’s free’ platitude. Very confusing.
forwards is smile, backwards is fail…
couldnt have put it any better mate but add to that the fans especially the away fans…absolutely top drawer 11/10
I think the lad Forde is one of the worst players i’ve seen play for the Wolves in years.
I felt embarrassed for him. Slow, small and unskilful is a combo I thought only I possessed on a football pitch.
I feel you’re a little harsh mate. Considering he was tossed in for his debut at the Emirates and then given a half against Chelsea to follow that up, I’d give him the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t see the entire Sunderland game but I’m led to believe he did well. Granted, he looked pitiful when he came on against Everton. Again though, what a situation to be thrust into.
I thought he struggled at Sunderland too. Needs a loan so we can find out where he’s at.
Johnson needs a lower rating but in all seriousness how did doyle get a 3.5, he was left all by himself it was always gonna be hard for him to find form and everyone expected too much from him. Also when he wasnt in form he wasnt given a chance to regain it in the middle of the season and played in his unnatural position of right wing. And not to mention he really worked his socks off, he deserves a higher rating ur being a bit harsh
Good points Kieran.
I think I was probably too harsh, but that’s only because I judge him against the standards I expected, based on previous seasons.
In that respect, he was very disappointing.
I think the only time Doyle shone this season for me is when coupled with O’Hara sitting behind him. (The 2 goals between them in the first swansea game spring to mind). They seemed to bounce quite well off each other.
On his own he was feeding off scraps and doesn’t have the aerial ability which allowed fletch to net his goals from air balls played in by the wingers which was quite often our only attacking tactic.
I think 3.5 is a fair score for his season but it’s a combination of him having the wrong sort of service, surrounded by the wrong players and being played out of position.
I hope we keep him and play to his strengths next season though
Henners 7;
De Vries 5;
Ward 6;
Stearman 5;
Johnson 2;
Berra 4;
Foley 4;
Zubar 4;
Henry 4;
Davis 6;
Frimpong 7;
Edwards 6;
Hunt 4;
O’Hara 4;
Milijas 4;
Kightly 5;
Hammill 5;
Jarvis 6;
SEB 3;
Doyle 4;
Fletcher 8.
None of the rest played enough to judge.
So in general, most players were crap.
Sounds about right.
How can Johnson score more than Doyle ?
A fair point Dave. I think I probably should have thought out the scale a little more on that one.
However, Doyle, by his standards, was excruciatingly poor this season. To me, he just looked worn out. I think his efforts in the previous two seasons, combined with our cumbersome style of play finally caught up with him.
I can count on one hand the number of times this season, where I walked away and thought ‘Doyler had a good game today’.
For him, that’s nowhere near good enough.
Interesting and very comprehensive Thomas and broadly agree with most ratings.
I know we disagree big time though over Stearman. To me the first priority of a CH is ‘ good in the air’ and i think he’s rubbish in this respect. No power or direction for me and marking not great(Sunday for example). This will be more vital in the Championship. Give me Jacky Pallo Berra any day. I love Stearman’s tackling but his distribution skills are too poor for full back. If i was Stale i would try him as a defensive midfielder just in front of the back four.
Of the others,
Poor old Doyle, couldn’t score in a brothel, but the rest of his game is still pretty good so 6.5 for me. If he stays, i think he’s one we’ll see huge improvement from under new management. I think Kightly might blosom too.
I still think SEB will score shed loads given the right service so it’s 6 for him.
And Johnson gets a nice round 0 3.5 for football ability -3.5 for everything else!
Generally agree although would have marked a little lower – like others i would have been harder on johnson his woeful performances almost single handedly frittered away the good start we made to the season.Others like Kevin Foley have very average attributes but were mentored by Mccarthy into useable players – there time at Wolves may now be up.
There’s only one number I would give the lot of them…..P45.
The old saying that ” Collectively, the sum total is better than the individuals”, or something like that worked in reverse for us this season. ( Or do we now refer to it as last season? )
Anyway, we have a few reasonable players, but put together as a team, they were pathetic.
We played 38 league matches and won 5.
Five.
By that standard, if we were the Japanese Army, all of the players would have committed Hari Kari.
Watching videos of the 38 games will only tell our new manager so much, as cameras tend to follow the ball, and don’t give the overall picture of a game.
He has to have all the players in, and assess in person.
Some of our squad will be in Poland, but with their quality this year, will be first to be eliminated, closely followed by England, with the squad Woy has picked.
If our former Championship players feel they will have an easier time next season than this year, they will be in for a rude awakening.
They will be four years older and slower, and the newbies will see a win over Wolves as a prized scalp.
None of our bunch of massive under achievers should be given any praise, collectively they fucked up big time this season and let down thousands.
Bring on the Norwegian Broom!!!
hurrah…well said old wolves scribe..spot on
a slightly different take on the report card:
For next season :
Henners – keep;
De Vries – keep;
Ward – keep;
Stearman – Sell;
Johnson – Sell Oh please God Sell;
Berra – Sell;
Foley – keep;
Zubar – keep;
Henry – keep;
Davis – keep;
Frimpong – try to loan again?? WOuld he play in Chumps tho;
Edwards – keep;
Hunt – Sell;
O’Hara – Sell;
Milijas – Sell;
Kightly – keep;
Hammill – keep;
Jarvis – As good as SOLD;
SEB – keep;
Doyle – Will probably go too;
Fletcher – As good as SOLD.
Keep Zubar but sell Berra, who in my opinion has played okay this season?
Zubar and Hunt on the right at Wigan, how to leave a big gap down the right hand side.
Its difficult to rate any of the players.
Staale has indicated, no one will be sold until after July 1st and he has had time to assess them.
Much depends on the style he has in mind for next season, as to which players he will keep. Am sure he has some in mind whom he’d like to come to play for us.
I’d like for us to continue to have Frimpong and Staale did sell Podolski to Wenger so we might get him.
If I was Staale after a few DVD’s I’d be on the phone to Jed telling him to get rid immediately of:
1. Hunt – This season an absolute liability
2. O’Hara – Never fit and never lived up to the hype.
3. S.E.B – Please ge rid of him.
4. Edwards – Not the brightest spark in the fuse box when it comes to picking a pass in midfield…
5. Johnson – Has lost the fans.
6. Berra or Stearman
7. Fletcher, Jarvis, Doyle, Henners, De Fries, Zubar,Milijas, Henry, Kightly, Foley, reluctantly even Ward etc keep until assessed .
Jarvis, Fletcher and Doyle are under contract as Clive points out.
I’d get rid of Doyle and keep Fletcher and Jarvis, offering substantial bonuses to them, if we go straight back up.
It depends on the chairman’s ambition.
And very ambitious Thomas, I must say, trying to gauge the players contribution to this season!
Solbakken, Solbakken,
A man who died they said,
Solbakken, Solbakken,
Can he bring Wolves back from the dead?
Player’s scores not for me,I’m with clive on this.These player’s took us down don’t forget.
I know the management must take a lot of the blame for our demise from the prem but they are professionals so to me its mostly their fault.As for McIdiot,TC,Moxey,and Morgan its got to
be a BIG -MINUS….FOJM,FOTC.
I agree performances were dire. No one is blameless.
Johnson must go and quickly-who does he think he is?
It has frequently been stated on this blog that the team that finished in the PL was composed of many of the same players that formed our championship winning side. It is therefore statistically unusual that almost every player has had a poor season and thus achieved only the low marks shown above. A normal profile would have shown more players enjoying a good season as well as a group who didn’t seem to be able to perform as well as they used to. To have a majority under-performing indicates external factors having an impact, perhaps it is not all their fault after all. In a classroom situation, this many under-achieving students would indicate a very poor teacher; in Wolves case MM was the poor teacher. Unfortunately the removal of the teacher only led to the appointment of the ‘janitor’ and thus the results of the group continued to decline.
I look forward to the opposite impact the new visionary leader may have upon the same guys or at least those who are left.
You gotta laugh. Poor old stale. His next 2 months is watchng the dvd of this season, all 38 games, over and over again. I honestly feel really sorry for him.
hope hes a sado masachist cos he will certainly get off on those dvds .at least we can say it cannot get worse under mr dead…. tc and mick for villa….seriously i am going to pee my pants if that happens..at least weve got the england debacle to take our minds off all that has been wwfc this season!
can we not offer johnson to the olympic committee ..they could paint ever increasing circles on him and use him for a target for the archery event!
Michael Owen up for grabs.
Worth a punt?
We’d never afford his wages, and I doubt he’d drop down anyway. Wouldn’t be surprised if he retires now.
Get him on a pay as you play basis….in fact put all the current wankers on that basis as well!!!
To be devil’s advocate Stale likes lining up his team with strength down the middle, forcing teams to cross into the box rather than play through them. Those tactics would suit Berra and dare I say it Johnson as it reduces the chances of them being beaten for pace and trickery and plays to their supposed strengths in heading away crosses and keeping an offside trap. We might not have seen the last of Johnson in a Wolves shirt.
That said if Johnson and Berra never lined up in a wolves shirt again I would be delighted. slow, perpetually fouling and useless on the ball both of them.
Express and star say johnson in one of few players without a relegation clause in contract so he will still be on £40k a week, thats £2m a year. Id be permanently pissed if earning that money while be really shit at my job. Another great business decision not to include relegation clause in top earners contract. Un-fuckin-believable!!!
This is on a par with one of the worst wolves business decisions evet, when they did not have sell on clause in robbie keanes contract. That decision cost john richards his job. Hopefully morgan will fuck off the fat git.
Considering the effect on the team over the course of the season, I would say Johnsons’ was negative. He clearly caused problems between players Not far behind was o’hara and his and his wifes go at the fans. I’d give Johnson -10 and O’Hara -5 based on thier net contributions. I hope neither will be in the squad by the first game n the Championship. Our form dropped even lower when the Johnson incident became public Knowledge. Just surprised that McCarthy, hard a man as he is, couldn’t sort it FORJ, FOJO’H
Wife in kitchen listening to a tirade of foul mouthed abuse from the living room. ‘You useless c**t, f****ing w**ker, for f***ks sake get something right you f***king idiot!’
She calls out, ‘Give those bloody DVD’s a rest Ståle, dinner’s ready.’
Think Stale has only to watch game V QPR at home and witness the utter shambles.
He could save himself some grief.
Look’s like Johnson is on Norwich’s wish list, probably sell him for peanuts just to get rid of him. What about O’hara does anyone fancy a punt on him ? Can you believe that J’s contract didn’t have a relegation clause in it and £40 grand a week. I wonder who’s brainwave that was ?
I hope Stale see’s through this pair and lays the law down to them to show responsibility and a bit more discipline next season. I still think that no-one should be allowed to move on no matter who they are or where they’ve been this season. I ‘m afraid I still retain my original belief that this squad can do better and should be made to see out their contracts on the pitch, on loan or on the bench. I suspect a lot more happened behind the scenes at the Mol’ last season than we actually know or have heard about and this was the root cause of the unrest which destabilised the season from about Oct onwards and why the club was unable to do anything about it. I know we’ve all got our own ideas and culprits to blame, but it’s time to close ranks and move forward. As ever UTW.
I blame the Chinese, them fuckers are behind every sleazy move in the world!
They’ve never forgiven us for sacking Sammy Chung.
That was a battle cry, wern’t it?
” Sammy Chung and his Chinese Takeaways”
When the opposition fans used to sing that they thought they were so original. Tossers.
Wee’d heard it all before!
Man, it’s a slow day, roll on the weekend and watching them germans getting stuffed at home.
Bet some of their grandfathers bombed our chipshop.
Now there’s a blast from the past , I wonder how many of our fellow bloggers remember him. There was another Sammy later on who was an absolute disaster, remember him ??
He makes the present or should I say the former encumbents look like sunday school boys.
I must admit that I do tend to blame the German’s for everything but this time it’s not their fault. O happy days !!!
Wasn’t Sammy Chung as sort fo TC to John Barnwell?
If I remember correctly Chung was understudy to McGarry whom he replaced and he in turn was replaced by Barnwell in about 1979’ish. That seems such a long time ago. Barnwell sold Daley and bought Gray, won the cup and then WW were relegated soon afterwards and he too was then sacked. Fast forward about 30 years and nothing changes.
Yes but Barnwell had a car accident one summer.
I think he lost an eye though soldiered on as manager and we went downhill fast, as you say relegated.
Wasn’t Richie Barker his assistant?
Yes.
“John Barnwell and Ritchie Barker”
Sung out loud and often at Wembley in March 1980, when we beat Nottingham Forest, who had won the previous 2 league Cup Finals, and a few weeks later went on to win the European Cup.
The classic commentary……..
“A long ball from Daniels, its dropping over the top of Needham, who collides wirth Shilton, and Gray runs round them both to score into an empty net”
Or something like that.
Get the DVD and watch both our League cup victories.
And if you look hard enough, at both matches the winner was scored in front of the Wolves fans, you can see me in the crowd.
In 1974 I had a tall top hat, Wolves scarf and gold and black jesters outfit, complete with tights and lots of bells that jingled when I moved!
Total plonker, but who gave a shit?
We won!!!
For those too young to remember goals by Kenny Hibbitt and John Richards were enough to see off the overwhelming favorites, Manchester City, with their all international forward line of
Summerbee, Bell, Law, Lee and Marsh.
Those were the days, my friends!!!
I remember it well Clive!
The failure to include a relegation clause in Johnson’s contract ranks only with not having a sell on clause when we sold Robbie Keane. Was the former just poor business or did it show our desperation to get him in a vain attempt to shore up the defence? My first game at the Molineux was in the 60’s and it is diifficult to recall a more disastrous and mismanaged signing in all that time.
My first game at the Mol’ was midweek against Liverpool, we lost 3-1 if I remember correctly, 62/3/4 ??? When was your first visit Woody ???
Hi Cwmbranwulf. My first visit was in the south bank on Boxing Day 1964 and we lost 1- 0 to the Villa. Couldn’t see a thing. We were bottom of the table then as well. Plus ca change!!!
weve had managers come and managers go over the years and had high hopes on every new appointment only for everything to go tits up or fizzle out like a wet fart….trying not to get my hopes up this time for fear of it all going wrong again – but….i kind of think this time ..this time we may well have the right man to turn things around finally.my only concern is the fans may not be patient enough and the grumbling may start if results arent immediate. really think he needs to be given time to bed in and get the right balance on the pitch. we may have unearthed a real jem …….
Solbakken, Solbakken,
A man who died they’ve said,
Solbakken, Solbakken,
Can he bring Wolves back from the dead?
Still dont understand why Guedioura and Hammil were sent out on loan, I reckon they give us that spark. Hopefully Solbakken gives them a chance next season.
I see Drogba is out of contract in a month.
He is one bloke I would love to see leading our attack.
Love him or hate him, he can put the fear of dog into the opposition.
Come on Stale, put in a bid!!!
Oh, and here’s another thought.
Spare some pity for the shit.
First they sack their manager, who goes on to lift The European Cup last night, then his replacement gets taken by England.
Kind of makes you wanna shed a tear or two, don’t it?
NO!
Ha ha ha
Fuck ’em all at the sandwell crem!!!!
Wont be long before the Premier league chews them up and spits them out again – pleased to see West Ham out the way curiously optimistic for next season – Stale’s biggest problem could be sifting through the large squad to find his best team.
Boing, boing. If we come back up next season it’ll be our third visit so maybe we’ll be boing, boing, boing. Hope so !!!
or boing, boing, boing, bhong!
or boing boing splat!
Just seen we have missed out on signing De Laet from United-who was awful playing for Norwich in the early part of the season. That was a close shave as he wouldn’t add anything to what we have already got in that department.
I’ll bet Sammy Chapman is pleased. He’s no longer the Wolves worst ever manager. TC won that one
It would seem Liverpool FC have been talking to our own red leader.
Look at the developing farce at Anfield over a new manager.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer set of supporters!!!
Are you saying Clipboard could get the LFC job??!
Why not?
They all look like they are going to burst into tears every time things don’t go their way!
Clipbored will fit in nicely!!
