It’s been a long old fortnight.
Maybe it’s because we played on the Friday prior to the international break so it’s consequently been two blank weekends without a fix?
Either way, it’s felt painful.
I’m so buoyant about our prospects right now I just want to get through the games as quickly as possible.
Bring it on.
Reading
That said, I smell danger in this one. Edwards, Bodvarsson, former players, our record, etc, etc. You know what I mean.
Add to that the fact that Reading’s form has improved of late and a 4-2 win at Derby certainly raised a few eyebrows.
It’s worth remembering too they came within a slither of reaching the Premier League last season so have pedigree.
Along with the players they recruited from Nuno’s ‘no longer required’ list, they also added Sone Aluko from Fulham for serious cash. His pace and guile could prove problematic.
Equally so, big Yann Kermorgant. We’ve struggled against target men this season and he’s been a thorn in our side before.
The Royals have only mustered 2 wins from their 7 homes matches thus far, so there’s nothing to fear in terms of fortress Mad Stad, despite our record being iffy at best.
Wolves
Hopefully no injuries or excessive fatigue knocking around Compton after some of our best and brightest jetted off to represent their countries.

I suppose that will become evident in Nuno’s team selection tomorrow. If everyone is fit and available I’d expect something very close to the side that saw off Fulham.
There’s plenty of competition for places though so I won’t be too disheartened if we see changes for the greater good.
Predictions
It’s a tough looking game on paper but we’ve got nearly twice as many points as Reading, so perhaps it’s they who should be fearful?
I haven’t seen a lot of them this season, but if they’re still about retaining possession and building up slowly I think that suits Wolves.
In a game of chess, I would back us to get the win every time.
2-1.
Up The Wolves!

Reading v Wolves.
What we were v What we are.
Our drab, dreary and dire recent past v Our exciting, thrilling and entertaining present.
Jon-Dadi Bodvarsson, a man who couldn’t score for toffee but had a nice line in Viking Slaps v Leo Bonatini a man who is currently the top scorer in the Championship.
Dave Edwards, a man who runs around a lot but who couldn’t control a ball when passed to him even if given three hour’s advance warning v Ruben Neves, a true quality footballer.
Is it really only just over 6 months ago when I was being lambasted – it’s ok, they can’t touch you for it – for saying how the awful Edwards summed up how far we had fallen?
Back then I was told he was our ‘saviour’ and a ‘legend’. He was then made our captain for Christ’s sake! Even ex-players were wheeled out to extol his attributes and prove to me how wrong I was.
I wanted footballers – you know, people who could control the ball, pass the ball, beat an opponent, score scintillating goals from outside the area and so on. Footballers. Not much to ask surely?
Fortunately a miracle happened and the holy one, Nuno Espirito Santo, took over and blow me down with a damp feather from one of Mrs BW’s feather boas, about 5 minutes later he came to the same conclusion as me and hey presto it was ‘hwyl fawr’ and ‘yakky-dah’ to Mr Edwards and step forward one Ruben Neves. A footballer.
So we now have quality footballers, a whole flipping team of them, rather than a team of willing runners, workers and journeymen. I think most Wolves fans might agree that we are a tad better this season than previously. Footballers you see – you can’t beat ‘em.
I will be going to the game along with fellow Bedford Wolves BOG and Rhys Lightning, meeting up with London Wolves Loyal en-route and meeting the Newark Wolves (Ian & Sue) and Witley & Son (Barry & Shaun) in The Three Guineas by the station from around 1145am onwards. There are others coming as well including at least two more from Bedford (the ones who wear an entire drinking suit not just the trousers so we tend to try and travel separately from them!) and an old schoolmate of mine who lives in Reading and despite supporting Man U wants to come down and see what football fans who don’t come from Berkshire or Surrey are like.
Regulation 3-0 win this one. No doubts, no worries, no arguments. Am hoping that Messrs Bodvarsson and Edwards are given a run-out from their usual positions sitting on the Reading bench even if it is just for the last 5 minutes or so as I do like a laugh.
P.S. Pretty sure Douglas is suspended for this one so Vinagre will play.
OODCL
BW I hope your right, and I agree wholeheartedly with your view that we have had a whole team upgrade this season, and the fans have upgraded faith belief and optimism to go with increased expectations.
and yeah the games can’t come quick enough as long as we’re keeping to the magic 2pts per game average. Long may this continue…………
Looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow and getting Jaap the sack.
Nice steady 2-0 come on my babbies FOWB right off.
The good news – Reading is local for me so I always mange to get to this fixture 🙂
The bad news – All the Wolves tickets sold out so I am sitting, with my daughter, with the Reading supporters 🙁
I have done this before but it is painful. Still, the positive side is I get to see our new pool of talent.
With regards to the team, I would like to see Costa in for Cav as I think Cav is more effective off the bench than Costa…. but what do I know? Sweet fanny Adams!
We go there with a lot of hope and a lot of confidence. Reading are just hitting form so I expect an exciting game and a few goals.
A win it is then, though only by the odd goal.
….Also ticket was £35 for my daughter!! £25 for me, cos I’m an O.A.P.
That’s dearer than it is in the away end which is very unusual – normally clubs look after their own and ‘sting’ the visiting fans. We got 2 x adults and 2 x OAP tickets for £72 including the booking fees.
Yep ?, I thought they were expensive @£35 for an adult.
I have a good feeling we will hit the ground running again. Nuno wont let them relax. I too think their style will play into our hands. I must be taking funny pills.
Hi all how many times did I look at the championship table since out last game
Can’t really say if it’s a tough game buy rights we should come away with the 3 points on form so going for a narrow win
Cmon wolves
Yes, it is a long time coming around. But hey it is good to look at the table every day and see we are still top.
This is of course another tough fixture but I can’t see anything but a Wolves win as we are well covered in all positions. Hopefully Bonatini’s award will not be a kiss of death. Saiss and Neves to continue in the middle, assuming they have recovered from their international exertions. Vinagre to replace Douglas.
Enjoy tomorrow to those going to Reading.
We should win this BUT we have all been here before. First game after international break, opposition at the wrong end of the table but just coming into form, usually a disaster waiting to happen to Wolves.
Now though we have Nuno who looks as though he has found the cure for all our old deamons, this game should go along way to telling us if he has.
Expect it to be tight and tense but a win at the end of the day.
Agreed Tipton.
I’m going to the mighty Madstad today and expecting a tricky test.
Stam insisting they are going to attack us – I’ll believe it when I see it.
Their fans are really fickle (and quiet) let’s hope our wonderful away support can inspire the boys to a good away win and give Dave and Jon Dadi some respect – please dog don’t let ’em score!
COMBs!
Edwards to go off after fifteen minutes with twisted blood.
Bodvarson wont even get one chance to miss.
Twelfth man, 4000 strong, to go home happy and hoarse.
Easy three points
Weall fuckin’ ‘ate Leeds!!!
Bring ‘em on!
fowb
Job done. Good defensive display
The old guard will not be able to touch the current team and as its been said above I think their playing style could suit us.
Tight one away as always, well until I get used to us just winning all the time , Vinagre in for suspended Douglas will be interesting and Costa will finally join the party scoring the winner from the bench , only annoying thing is sufc borrowing our song for a few hours
Utw
Lets give these a pasting and move onto Leeds.
I’ve always struggled with Reading. Is it pronounced Reading or reading? I always pronounce it reading, and then correct anyone who says Reading. Shouldn’t it be spelled Redding if that’s what they want to be called?
Stupid place.
Expecting Dave Edwards to make a latte, surging run into our box and glance a header into the net – hopefully just a consolation goal.
I don’t think he’s that much of a barista
Reading 1
Wolverhampton Wanderers 1
Not that it matters, as my predictions don’t count, but I had a fat thumb. It should be:
Reading 0
Wolverhampton Wanderers 1
Just a run around the park and a warm up for Leeds. Bonatini to keep on scoring every game and about time Jota got a couple, can’t have him slacking can we.
Really looking forward to this one as not only have I not been to Reading before but it is the 70th different stadium that I have watched the Wolves at. Southampton and Manchester City were also new ones to me so I am hoping for a repeat of those two games and for us to keep a clean sheet. The last two weeks have dragged so I can’t wait for a nice day out in Berkshire. Early start as it is a 150 odd mile drive from Newark and looking forward to meeting up with some fellow bloggers.
70 different stadiums Eh? (Or should that be stadia?).
Impressive stuff!
Two things:-
1) Please name them all
2) Can anybody beat that?
Oh DOOGie! Why did you have to say that! You know BOG comes on here and reads the posts and I know for a fact that he’s been to 80-something or maybe even more. Now he’ll tell us all about Rochdale and Halifax in the 1980’s when there only 17 Wolves fans huddled together in the snow and they could all get a pie and a pint for 2d or something and still have change etc etc .
Yes, I was hoping I might open a few cans of (rather verbose) worms by asking that question.
I’ll leave you to listen as he relates them all (again) in intimate detail on the way to the match tomorrow.
I have done 76 league grounds and Mrs Lowves has done 74. All of the premier league, most of them 3 or 4 times, except the new ground donated to, and run by us taxpayers, for West Ham, although we have been to the Boleyn several times. We have done all the Championship grounds on even more occasions, and the year we went down we did all of the league1 grounds. I hate to say it but that was a really enjoyable season, going to new grounds and winning games most of the time. We have also done some in league 2. Wembley several times and even flew to Dublin for a few days once to see us play Bohemians in a preseason friendly.
If you want to record all of your games an excellent site is “Doing the 92”
Soon we will be adding Madrid and Barcelona to our list, till then, Reading 1 – 2 Wolves
Hope you brought me rock. Will be looking for you amongst the throngs tomorrow, (throngs) pervert.
Yeah,……..Aphrodites rock!
Took a note of your phone number, hope you don’t mind we had trouble getting through to the ticket office from Paphos, but eventually got through to number one son who managed to get our Birmingham tickets. PANIC MODE! I know you have kindly offered to get tickets for us in the past. See you at Reading ,drive that mini bus safely.
Hi Mark, I probably could name them all eventually but due to my age it may take a while. I will name the worst three. Prenton Park, Tranmere in the 80’s when you could walk right round the ground if you could stay on your feet on the moss covered crumbling terraces which many Wolves fans did to get at the home fans. Seamer Road, Scarborough, we all know what happened there and The Victoria Ground, Stoke where I got well and truly kicked to f**k
Bury fc.
Walked round the ground with the Bury fans going the other way, funny as feck.
Dangerous and Bod will run around a lot to no avail (as they did a lot for us). I think we’ll score on the break and then nick another to put the game to bed. 2-0.
I’m not sure if it will be as easy as some are suggesting.
Could be a tight game.
Hoping we can squeeze out a win.
Is it my memory playing tricks on me or are Reading one of those teams that we always seem to struggle against?
I wouldn’t be too disappointed with a draw providing we win the following two home fixtures which would give a nice return of 7 from 9 and keep up the pace at the top. If we can win then that would be a lovely bonus.
And surely Edwards and the Dadi must score against us?
I think its your memory Newt – though I can’t be completely sure as I really can’t remember either.
A classic with goals galore.
Bonatini 2
Boly 1
Jota 1
Doherty 1
No, no worries on this one. Full of confidence that Wolves will once again perform for me and get my 2-0 prediction right. We don’t need to do anything more. 2-0 then cruise and rest to do the same to Leeds.
Should be an exciting game but on balance one that should secure all 3 points for us come 5pm tomorrow.
I must admit for all the old reasons that shouldn’t now apply I fear this game, after an international break, against a team we have for some reason never really played our best, and again a team on the up having had a ropey start with ex players who score against us I can just see this as a draw, which is better than the previous which would have been a heavy defeat and an awful performance. I’ll take a point with 2 home victories to come before a week on Sunday.
Edwards own goal ??
Onwards and upwards and bye Dave Edwards (but thanks for your efforts.)
If we aspire to Premier League level – and I think we all do – we should beat a Reading side that thought fit to spend some of their hard earned cash on buying our cast offs.
The ‘back after an International break’ syndrome is one that often catches us out but I hope that Nuno has well and truly sorted that problem.
Reading’s style of play should suit our counter attacking game and it will be interesting to see if Vinagre gets a run out to see if he can repeat his trick that he pulled against Kyle Walker.
I’m quietly confident that we can get three points out of this one and then on to Molineux for the Leeds show down on Wednesday evening.
It’ll take me back a few years to that May Monday evening when we beat them in front of, probably, around 56,000 fans.
i wonder if Molineux will ever host a crowd that size again?
Tough match but we’ll nick it.
COYW
There’s no doubt that our team is now stronger than it has been for many, many years. Not just the eleven but the whole first team squad. We play a very distinctive style and many of our old guard would never fit into the new mold.
In this one, we come up against two of our more recent leavers. It’s obvious to all that their replacements are much superior technically and our team now is a joy to watch compared to the more pragmatic footie we’ve had to resort to in recent seasons. It’s easy to blame the players, like Bod and Eddo, or a succession of managers for this situation, but at the end of the day, it comes down to the owners. It would have been easy to sell Dangerous long before we did, but would M&M have invested 16mill in a player of the quality of Neves? The hell they would. So we’d have ended up with a cut price replacement with no more skill and probably lacking Eddo’s unerring ability to be in the right place in the box to score that vital goal.
Nuno’s doing a fantastic job here, and I love him with every fibre of my being. But, like all great managers nowadays, he wouldn’t go anywhere if he wasn’t promised massive funding to build his team. The fact he’s here is down to Fosun and their deep, deep pockets. That’s why Jota, Boly, Cavaleiro, Costa, Vinagre et al are here too.
The fact that they are all obvious upgrades on what went before never, in my book, justifies the criticism thrown at our previous players. They, pretty much to a man, gave their all for the cause in a team starved of investment and if Fosun closed their fat wallet like Morgan did, our new heroes, and Nuno, would be on the first plane outta here. Be under no illusions about that.
Reading will be tougher, I feel, than it would have been, perhaps a month ago. They’ve had a couple of excellent results which would have lifted their early season gloom. Last season proved they have what’s necessary to be a player at the top of the table and they will be determined to climb there way up there at our expense.
They won’t do it though. We’ll, quite simply, be too good for ’em.
The reality is, most people didn’t think it would work getting players who didn’t have loads of Championship experience. Nor a coach without English experience.
So signing a lot of players the likes of Neves was very controversial and many people wanted the likes of Dicko, Sako and Edwards to be on the team to push for promotion.
And so did Lambert.
The point I’m making, Tim, is that criticism of our ‘old guard’ is unwarranted because at that time, Morgan could not or would not fund better replacements and they gave their all for the club. Personally, I was wary of the path we were taking because of the debacle of sacking KJ and taking on Walter. If the decisions made this summer had been no better than that one, we’d be in a right old pickle by now. But they were, so all is well, to say the least.
Think Douglas is suspended for this one so expect Vinagre to start. Nevertheless like Fulham and Villa I expect this game to fall completely into our hands as they try to attack, and on the counter we’ll trounce them. Game is on ESPN3 for those in the US like me!
Come on Wolves, let’s stay top!
This will be a tighter affair than most people think!
Yapp Stum is a better manager than Colin and a number of others.
He said he doesn’t fear wolves, but had his fingers crossed and we could see his eyes when he said it – really he’s she’ting himself…
Another 3 points with value for money entertainment for the 4,000 followers….
1 x forced change with Vinegre in, but expecting to see a few more too…
In Nuno we trust so no worries….
Thankfully we are back to ‘proper’ football this week-end, tried my hardest to get into the Internationals but to no avail…bored to tears. Nuno will have kept our boys fit and ready.
Thought that pic of the wife had gone missing lol
Yes it had, she gave it to me. (Even more lol).
Is that a current Wolves top?
Going with the flow for an easy win for the much better football playing side.
Although I still like dangerous and bod they are just not good enough for the current Wolves team.
Mildenhall,
You should start a petition to change the current shirt front to that – fekin better than:
The Moany Shot
DORITOS
BETwhoever
and we could have 365 of them in a GOODYEAR
Glad your au pair likes men playing with balls…
That picture actually won her the fan of the year price.
Can’t dismiss Reading too quickly as they undoubtedly have some talent, proven by last season’s finish. Barrow has enough pace to trouble the fastest of defenders so we’ll need to keep our shape and discipline at the back or cut out his supply. Nonetheless, I expect our quality and confidence to get us through this one and to bring back 3 points.
Jaap Stamm has said they are going to attack – best of luck with that approach you will need it – great to be back does seem a long time – players will be keen to kick on
A decent side they may be, but I don’t think they’ve got the sort of quality that we do all the way through the side so I’ll back us for three points.
I’m going down to the Mad Stad tomorrow and looking forward to seeing some domestic football again it’s seems ages since I’ve watched us in action. our away record is good and I fully expect that to continue here. Hopefully the international break will have come at a bad time for Reading and disrupt any momentum they were building. We are playing good football and goals just don’t seem a problem so 3 points for Wolves tomorrow. Caviliero and Jota with the goals
Don’t expect us to keep a clean sheet tomorrow but confident of a comfortable win.
Set pieces will be readings only ploy to undo us.
We really are streets ahead of most of this division and that includes this lot.
Nothing to fear here just sit and keep it tight and they will open up.
Boring first half and smash them to bits after the break.
Another clean sheet.
I actually could have gone tomorrow I had a ticket, but work intervened so my brother and his lad will be there in my place.
This is a tricky one to predict yeah I know you could say that about every championship fixture. What I mean is Wolves coming back from international breaks has always filled me with dread. But this Wolves team is a total different animal to those in the past I refer to Befords blog.
I’m going for a win why, why not I think we have enough in the team sorry squad to cope with anything Reading has to throw at us…………I hope
The McDonald’s advert was on the radio today and it was keen to suggest that their chicken burgers were made out of real chicken breast and not some form of monstrous mutation in a farmyard shed comprising headless chickens, mice, bits of pig and probably Tony Pulis’s eyebrows. Talking of headless chickens may bring some fans to remember Dangerous Dave. And thus the game kicks off with Japp Stam looking like some sort of bouncer outside McGhees in Wolverhampton. The only difference is he is in the Dugout at Reading but after half hour he probably wishes he was, in fact, stood outside McGhees in Wolverhampton as his hapless team are put to the sword. Dangerous is running around like a chicken in McDonald’s unable to get near the Iberian stylists. Bod is literally ‘clapped out’ and wishes he was in a geyser in Iceland soothing his worn out feet. Despite this Reading who look like QPR and also have a bald manager try to stay in the game in a similar manner to Loftus Road but Nuno is having none of it this time and the extra class tells as WWFC come away 2-1 winners. After the game Stam said ‘please don’t talk about chickens, I am fucking sick of it already’. NUNO said ‘I am really pleased for the boys and I am going to tuck into McDonald’s chicken burger on the way home’. WWFC win 2-1.
At last!!!
International breaks are always annoying but when they interrupt the cavalier football Nuno is serving up this season; well I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been almost climbing the walls with pent up frustration….I could probably have been helped by Mildenhall’s girl but I obviously missed her when she came round.
I have no problem predicting another win before we get stuck into dirty Leeds, midweek. I don’t think bodvarrson will crack our defence and while I have no axe to grind over dangerous, Nuno let him go for good reason. Rest assured he’ll run around like crazy to make an impact bacause it’s what he does; unfortunately for him, he’s gonna find out what our lads have been up to for the last six months.
More Bonatini and Jota stuff I reckon.
Finally, fabulous turn out down there too. 4000 Wolves + the usual infiltration squads no doubt. I’m very jealous I can’t be there.

“Something in the air” sang Thunderclap Newman in 1969. Well it could be Wolverhampton in the here and now.
I cannot recall my hometown, where I was born on Saturday 3rd January 1953 at the Womens Hospital West Park, receiving as much local (West Midlands) and national airtime.
Over the past month…

World Music Conference – Wolverhampton University
Question Time – Wolverhampton University
A young contestant on the Chase earlier this week (from Belfast) “What are your hobbies” asked Bradley Walsh. “I am an avid supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers” he proudly replied in an broad Irish brogue. Priceless! I could have hugged him – and no I am not on the turn – just filled me with pride…
And most importantly Wolverhampton Wanderers are the team of the moment – frequently mentioned across the media (even on the high brow, so right-on and patronising BBC) and linked with all sorts of talent, top of the league and so on and so forth and even discussed in the local pool/leisure centre here in the rugby union town of Bedford. A neighbour across the way follows Bedford Blues rugby with a passion. Bumped into him on Monday in the local newsagents “your team doing well I see” he remarked. I was taken aback to say the least. “Think they can mix it in the Premier League” he continued. Blimey!
So there you have it. Wolverhampton is the talk of the nation – relocate Parliament when they decide to refurbishment the Palace of Westminster – move Wembley Stadium – and Twickenham – and Lords – and The National History museum- and Buck House all to Wolverhampton. HS2 to stop at Oxley Sidings.
Oh yes tomorrow we are setting off about 9 o’clock with a taxi to the station.
Wolves to win 3-0

BOG
Hiya BOG … You missed a couple of other nuggets mate …
Yesterday on Pointless …Yes I know it’s medicinal…. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Steve Bull we’re both put forward as answers … correct ones at that …… to the questions posed by Alexander Armstrong.
The glory days are just around the corner.
Another nugget noted is that I too was born at the Women’s Hospital on the periphery of the West Park and ironically next to the APV…..although you may be a little older than me…
Onto tomorrow and what a day out it should be for the BarmyTravelling Army…(Liverpool version II)
I believe our ex’s will have no bearing on the result tomorrow and Twisted Bloody and Giddy heads spring to mind.
Those were the days my friends I thought they’d never end….
Ah Twix – Mary Hopkin – Temma Harbour – did she link arms with McCartney at some stage? I know she recorded on Apple and he penned some of her ditties.
Bloody hell how did I miss that Pointless episode even though it’s on simultaneously with The Chase? ? We record one and watch the other then watch the recorded programme.
Another product of the Womens Hospital, West Park permimeter. All the splendid fellows were hatched there.
Can’t remember when it closed for maternity care – maybe 70’s?
Talking of hospitals watching Junior doctor the other evening it was announced that New Cross handles upwards of 4,000 cases…..wait for it (I reckoned about 300) per day! 4,000! That’s some figure to mull over. In a week New Cross handles the equivalent of our attendance v Villa recently.
Anyway hope to see you tomorrow.
All the best
BOG
BOG & Twix,
Thee’s & me also have something in common (other than WWFC of course) we’re both connected by “The Womens” but 12 years apart from BOG! (March 1965)
I’ve never heard anyone else make claim to “the Womens” but thought it worthy of a comment
Up The Womens – not literally of course! and of Course Up The Wolves
Also I cannot believe that either WWFC or Bully would be on pointment unless it was wortha minimum of 3 points – LMRO
pointment – wft – pointless – i hate sausage fingers & production text
Congratulations BOG on being another January 1953 baby, my birthday being the 19th. We’ll have to celebrate our 65th’s with a pint or two.
I’ve done this fixture already on football manager and got spanked so that gives me a few worries!
I’ll be there. I don’t fancy Reading as an away day but the cheap ticket prices for me and my old man were too good to turn down.
Come on me babbies!
Forgot to add in my blog. Well done to all of you travelling in Berkshire tomorrow. Roar the lads on. Another amazing turnout and just reinforces what we could be in the next few years. I believe Birmingham away sold out as well. Monday night. On telly. Just before Xmas. Shit hole. Brilliant!
Theyre going to get a right ‘ ROYAL ‘ beating tomorrow .. well stamp all over their japs !!
D ..reading us 1

Coming from Basingstoke, I hate Reading. Watching Wolves lose in the last 5mins at Elm Park, sat in the away end as they took the piss out of my team. I hope we stuff em.
Always had something against Reading from the Elm Park days so I hope we give them a good hiding 3-0
I noticed recently that Hi Ho Silver lining was first in the charts 50 years ago. Doesn’t time fly !
We should be winning this one, our team sheet is beginning to look so impressive, with the array of alternatives adding more.
Same type of team as Fulham and we despatched them with great ease but I think this one might prove a tad tougher. Not matter how good we are we will not win every game. Take a point here then win our home games. As for the team only change I can see if Vinagre for the suspended Douglas. Hopefully Nuno has worked his magic on Costa during the break and he can get to somewhere near his best.
Going for my third 2-0 successful prediction in a row.
Surely Bodvarsson can’t score and more surely Edwards.
Doe worry mos man more chance of Sandwell beating Chelsea, 5-0
You never know ..but today might be Clueless’s last game….
‘Never managed a relegation team ‘ ….. he just points them in the right direction (downwards) ..then gets chopped…
Back to business tomorrow, twenty odd of us going down to Reading hoping we can carry on where we left off before that dreaded international farce of freindies.
Back to the nitty-gritty but I hope the bod and Dangerous dave doesn’t do us any arm if selected like so many ex wolves players have done in the past.
I’m sure Nuno will have his troops up and ready for the big push this next fortnight, gotta keep it going and I’m sure we will.UTW.
The 12th Man cometh Reddin, be a frayed, be very a frayed
4000 of the buggers strolling into town, boosting the team with a roar like nowt erd before.
We have the whole end to ourselves, we will turn it to our advantage.
Our old boys can see first hand what may have been, I like many others thank them from the heart of my bottom, they gave their all, but, we move Onwards & Upwards.
Dave Edwards after 22 minutes of chasing shadows, downs Vinagre and takes the Coady walk.

Here’s one for you. Which football team has 8 letters with 4 of them the same letter?
And here’s an even better one. Today I saw a young couple looking for their first mortgage (it’s what I do by the way). The young man was born in Wolverhampton and until six months ago lived in Bilston and so not suprisingly he had a strong Black Country accent. Do you support Wolves? I asked. Yes he said. So do I said his girlfriend. They now live with her parents in Bedford. So how did you meet then – at a Wolves game? Yes they said, at Liverpool at the FA Cup game earlier this year. Apparently they sat next to each other at the game, kissed when we scored, kissed even more when we scored again and then afterwards got drunk together in a pub in Liverpool and love was born. Imagine that! A fabulous never to be forgotten day – AND you find true love too.
OODCL
Bedders,
Millwall
When I read about the love story Liverpool 2017, it brought a tear to my eye!
Not because I’m emotional but merely because it sparked a memory – me & the bro-in-law Webbo were also at said game, we washed our feet in Tetleys before the game, I’m sure we hugged but may have kissed (him on his bald spot) when Stearmans first went in, then we repeated this when Weimanns goal went in. Then we had a pint or two at half time. Then we got drunk together when we got back to Wolves.
Now fortunetly the only love that blossomed was that for WWFC – as it would be very wrong to fall for your bro-in-law unless you supported them in-bred stripy tossers down the road – so alls well that ends well.
Still going for a repeat of the Liverpool game tomoz with the other 3,999 – cum on mi babbies
Awww, that’s so sweet Bedders. And in 50years, it will indeed be a Golden Anniversary.
Loving this one.
Forrest, Gump and Nuno….
Relentless pressure at the top and a difficult one but our away mob should make a difference as the 12th man to say the least.
Bod worries me and that Icelandic clap…
I fancy Bonatini and Jota then there could be
a bit of an attacking role of Neves..it’s surely coming ..what a player…
Hella Costa getting sidelined..who’d of predicted that?
COYW
I think a bit like the Forest game … they have possession we limit chances , we score , they come back , we win it
Then if win it, why have you predicted a draw?
He must mean it’s a moral victory.
Hahaha sorry I mistyped, I entered the score in another post straight after as 2-1 oops!
I once was ill in Reading, drinking Brakspeare’s Gold. Well it wasn’t imbibing too much. It was dodgy beer, honest. After all, I was brought up on natures best from Chapel Ash, Holdens Golden, Hanson’s (remember them), and the Delph…..and Ma Pardoe’s and…..everything good from the Black Country. So good are our beers, I’ve even forgotten sampling them all. Several times!
Away win. Dangerous to score with 5 mins to go, then try and inspire a final throw everything they can. But lose
Difficult to predict anything but a win these days – which says a lot in itself. We clearly won’t win them all, but I don’t see this as one of the others. Many of the historical ghosts seem to have been laid this season, some of which have had a very bad effect in recent seasons, so even less reasons for being gloomy.
Did anyone read the brilliant guardian article about our dear vice chair?
A life in music: Robert Plant on Led Zeppelin, Alison Krauss and his endless wanderlust
After an amazing run through all of his life’s music and his sad reflection on the people i.e. Women he has scarred he says …
What really matters is that Wolverhampton Wanderers are home to Millwall on Saturday
Indeed
Well that was a while back
And now it’s us at Redding
With Dangerous and Bod out there I’m a bit cautious … but hopefully we then do the job on the nasties and then the alternative wanderers

I’ve got my ticket in my hot sweaty little hand to see the legend at The Civic Hall next week.
It’s going to be an enjoyable few days!
Tight game for the first run out after the break and we get to watch the game on Sunday Morning bein sport2 we will need to be at our best.
With this current squad, we’ve got nothing to be afraid of. Sticking to my 3-1 prediction for third time in a row….which probably means Wolves to win 2-0.
In this wonderful season for Wolves fans it’s easy to overlook the rise and rise of Sheffield United. Will they go all the way like Southampton did, League One to PL stability in two years?
It has to be all in the coaching, if a donkey like Leon Clarke can be transformed into a thoroughbred goal-scoring machine. True, he may be having that once-in-a-career purple patch, but the only patch he had for us was a bad patch.
I have a mate in Sheffield, a big United fan. He was well fed up with Wednesday fans during the playoffs. They were saying they didn’t mind missing out on promotion as they would have the big local derby back. He and they knew that was rubbish. It would be like WBA saying last season they didn’t mind relegation as they would be playing us again…
Close one this, Reading can turn up as anybody on the day, gut feel is they’ll turn up but we’ll just have too much, come on me babbies!! #FWAW
As many have pointed out Reading are having a revival in their fortunes so could be a bit of a banana skin but I trust Nuno to be tactically aware as ever and Wolves will be too much for them, especially as they try to play decent football.
Watched Bolton v PNE last night. Two teams with little skill with plenty of cloggers which reminded me just how far Wolves have come thanks to Fosun, Shi and Nuno.
could be close due to break disrupting momentum and Reading seem a mercurial team but win we will, probably
Should just keep rolling along.
COYW
Got to be a win. Come on me babbies!
Desperately late with my prediction. Haven’t looked at the team, honest.
Anyone find a stream yet? Is it on any channels? I don’t see it on WolvesTV.
Whenever the match is not shown on Wolves TV I try
http://cricfree.sc/football-live-stream-4
listening to the game in Houston Texas
Fuc…….King A BABY…….. Yeaaaaaashhhhhhh
Played crap 2nd half but who the muck cares Mino’s also instilled a bit of steel in them this team has back bone and grit and yeah we had a bit of luck Ruddy made a couple of great saves but that’s what he’s there for
YOU BUTIES……
Which part of Houston you in, Christiana?
Oh what joy. Wolves 2-0 Reading. Shit 0-4 Chelsea. Must remember to text my Baggies mate at work with some antagonism.
Was the first goal close to being offside?
Don’t give a shit if it was. We won, they lost. 3 points away from home, happy as feck. Don’t even care if we played crap.
Close. But it wasn’t. Perfect timing.
It looks as though Pulis will be gone by Monday
In a attempt to ‘ reach out ‘ to our poor friends down in Sandwell I was wandering if anyone had been keeping a championship dossier on things like good pubs , places to park etc
I think it could be time to hand it over to the baggies boys and girls as let’s face it , we ain’t going to need it anymore, and I think they ll get years out of it
It’s all about friendship in sport so … up the wolves and fuck off to those Albion bastard friends of ours
If they think they are gonna get Nuno they can fuck off.
A merry band of Bloggers outside the Nags Head in Reading just about to set off for the ground in a minibus driven by a crazy Rumanian who insisted on playing a C&W CD at full volume………all together now, Oh Ru-oo-bee, don’t take your love to town.
Fuckin brilliant. Hope you blokes had a fuckin great day.
Just in case anyone is under the impression we played badly and were lucky we didn’t and we weren’t.
We executed a classic away performance. Early goal, sat back and soaked up the pressure – with some outstanding defending by the way – then hit them with the sucker punch second goal late on.
We played most of the game without getting out of second gear – we didn’t need to and we still won. Even if they had scored you always felt that we’d just up a gear and score again.
We are class, trust me, we are quality and are heading for the title and promotion.
OODL
Thanks mate. I had the grandkids this weekend so have not yet watched the highlights.
Another great away day.
Stu Wolf driving & with 2 x nephews at their first away day.
Played well albut a couple of spells when we inflicted pain on ourselves.
Cav had fantastic games.
Great to see Costa back on and looking more like his old self.
Clean sheet, 2 goals, shite getting hammered – say we want PooLess in, say we want PoohLess in! Lmfro
I’d suggest that Nuno will re-watch this with the team to point out what we did very right but also what we did very very wrong.
Worthy winners but Reading ain’t a bad side!
Roll on Wed/Sat
Away days in the sticks, fun and games with some good company, watching yer team win under the cosh……….
Feckin Priceless.
You just stand there thinking, this side ain’t gonna lose.
More to come, future looks Old Gold and Black to me.
Costa, on for 6 minutes, had an amazing run at the defence and laid on an assist for Doherty’s goal.
What’s not to like?
Stu,
Is it that Dexy’s classic Jackie Wilson Said
Tell what was classic today, hearing 4 yr old Max singing Wolves Aye Web proper priceless
As this is my 3rd correct, consecutive prediction (all 2-0) I am now truly believing that mine are not predictions, but instructions to be read by Nuno and passed on to the team. I imagine at half time he tells the team “Look we are 1-0 up. Vic has demanded a 2-0 result, so one more and then that’s it”. You bloggers play your own game, me and Nuno are on a different level (planet maybe???). Don’t worry Clive, one of these days I will instruct Nuno we want a 5-1 result (possibly Bolton).
Vicsmith,
I would prefer we cream “we all fuckin’ ‘ate Leeds” 5-1 and have a stroll in the park 2-0 against Notlob.
I am sure a few others of my vintage, who grew up fuckin’ ‘atin’ Leeds, might agree.
So sad that Chelsea took their collective feet off the throttle and only scored 4 today.
A major FO wb
Well done Nuno. Sounds like the gritty sort of win we need on the road against good physical teams.
I’m got the 2-0 right. I must be in with a chance for the Prediction League top six soon!
Bit of fun for everyone next season, or even to join late this season for practice. It is the BBC website Predictor. You need to be able to sign in. Every week you predict the PL results. So far this season I’m doing better than Lawro.
There’s about 250,000 using Predictor for PL results. Quite a few Wolves fans will join next season!
