I really don’t want to labour the point, but I still don’t get why Benik Afobe was allowed to leave so early in the transfer window.

Even if the intention was always to sell, surely the club should have stalled him until they’d circled in on a viable replacement?
Because they didn’t, the last fortnight has felt like take two of the infamous post-McCarthy managerial debacle.
And with every passing day you fear the end result will be another Terry Connor – an also-ran from the squad hailed as the answer to all our problems.
Even Dave Edwards reckons we’re lucky to be 10th with the players we’ve got and that says everything about the club’s rapidly deteriorating ambitions.
QPR
QPR sold Charlie Austin last weekend and less than three days later had wrapped up a deal for reported Wolves target Conor Washington as his replacement.
We all know QPR haven’t been the most responsibly governed club in recent years, but on this occasion they appear to have employed a much smarter game plan.
They enter this contest three points and five places behind Wolves, but buoyed by their first victory under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink last Saturday and the arrival of their new striker.
Loftus Road has hardly been a fortress this season, with only four home victories so far, but they have only lost twice there in 13 games.
They’ll need Washington to produce the goods as without Charlie Austin’s goals, they’ve often looked shy at the business end of the pitch.
Karl Henry remains a regular in the Hoops starting lineup and he’ll be hoping to make it a league double over his old team.
Wolves
With Michal Zyro ruled out, Kenny Jackett will have to decide between Adam Le Fondre and Bjorn Sigurdarson. There’s also the gaping hole left by Jordan Graham’s season ending injury to resolve.

Although Siggy might be consider the more like-for-like replacement, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Le Fondre given the nod, possibly with van La Parra dropping back to fill Jordan Graham’s position.
James Henry would then be the logical selection on the opposite flank but Nathan Byrne might also enter the manager’s thinking. He’s yet to be given a sustained run out.
Personally, I’d like to see Wolves being more compact and difficult to breakdown again on Saturday. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I think if we go there more open, as we did against Cardiff and Fulham, it will suit the home side better.
The gaffer
Predictions
If I was feeling dead pessimistic, I’d go for a 2-0 defeat with a debut Washington strike and a late 30 yard scorcher from Karl, but surely life isn’t quite that cruel?
I do think we’ll lose though, just taking everything into equation.
I’ll go for 2-1.
Up The Wolves!

Whether he’s the quality we need to be pushing for a play-off place, I’m not sure, but I’d like to see Nathan Byrne given more of a chance. When he’s played he’s shown some promise, although he has looked a little lightweight. I don’t feel like he’s been given enough of a showing to judge him properly though.
With a front two to choose from of Siggy and Le Fondre, you can’t fancy us to pepper their goal. That said, last time I said something similar we put three past Fulham.
Definitely going to be a struggle against a revived hoops under their new manager. I can’t really see where our goals will come from so a bore draw is probably the best I can hope for. Mind you the thought of square ball Henry scoring against us brought a smile to my face, cow’s arse and banjo comes to mind.
I hope you don’t live to eat your words there Wight Wolf! I too, would be surprised if he scored against us, but stranger things have happened.
A typical end of season game , yes in January.
2 clubs with little to play for with similar problems losing their so called best players. Matt Phillips looks like he is on his way.
Am not optimistic.
They have more ambition than us.
Even Dave Edwards doesn’t think we’ll make the play offs.
Here’s a question for you to ponder. What would happen if we did (Which we won’t) reach the play offs?
After today’s performance, reaching the playoffs is debatable.
He was allowed to leave so there was no risk of injury.
Concur with Bagsy…we won’t score with that attack
Pack it in and walk out with a point…
Then sign someone….
Suspect Jackett will park the horse and cart and hope to hold out with one of Siggy or ALF alone upfront. The lack of transfer activity leaves one even more pessimistic.
Hoping for a 1-0…..but under no illusions, it is very apparent that this season we are going nowhere. Sell your best assets and thus far bring in no replacements is a recipe for disaster.
KJs pre match interview still the same tone even though we have lost Graham and now Zyro..amazing.. everything’s fine then..
Who wouldn’t be pessimistic being a realist here…a draw would be a result indeed..
With no signings (inc the defenders supposed to be coming ) we are hanging on in there..just..
Morgan you are bleeding us to death..
A very difficult game.
Karl Henry to score the winner?
Can’t see us getting anything.
I am, against any good judgement, going for a narrow win. Be a miricle though with a sadly depleted squad.
Breaking news … The Best Comedy Award …… goes to Jez Moxey and Steve Morgan…..
As you rightly point out Thomas the Afobe saga not only highlights our naivety but also proves that the club is run on the Poundland principle….and even then ..not well.
Best we’ll get out of this one is a draw if we’re lucky …. I don’t think we’ll be that lucky.
No strikers of note …. Uphill struggle
Hoping for the best, but with no new recruits post Afobe, fearing the worst!
I still cannot believe that some of you lot still think there will be some inward transfer activity!
How can there be, when my spies tell me greasel is off in sunny climes somewhere other than Wolveramptun.
Our esteemed head coach, who gives an identical, “things must improve, we have no one imminent on the radar” speech week in week out, has totally lost it as far as I’m concerned.
First off, he praises QPR’s home record.
Well, compared to ours, yes its good, but four wins is not gonna get promotion.
Then he totally deflects a direct question regarding the fans.
He also prattled on about where things need to improve, and the fact that that bloke from Cardiff, who scored two and made the third, should never have been allowed to come inside.
THATS WHAT COACHING IS FOR, DIMWIT!!!
He goes on about not scoring enough.
Well, Duh
If you don’t play any strikers, and I’ve never include Lefondle and Sig in that category, then, as Ben commented, you aint gonna have the whiz kids in the box to snap up any half chances instinctively.
Jackett, if you had any balls and self respect, you would have walked away months ago, and told us fans the truth.
Sadly you aint and you didn’t, so as far as I’m concerned, you are no better now than McDickwadhead.
Having vented, I now predict, as usual, that we will win 5 – 1
QPR will see a mediocre club in disarray, whilst we KNOW there is a team of Wolves in sheep’s clothing, waiting to stuff ’em.
Never give in, never surrender! ( name the movie)
And, as pointed out several times, I have recently been remiss in my salutations, so to all of you who miss my sign off, a hearty FUCK OFF W…B… to y’all!!
Clive Kenny had done so much for this club shut your mouth as your not a real fan
We could end up with 3 players if we’re very lucky. The Boilesen move is set on hold because he prefers a move to premiership, but if no other offers pops up we’re in pole position to sign him, We’re in talks with Emiliano Sala (4mill), and we could end up signing Charlie Adam. If we could get these 3 players we’ve managed to strengthen on all departments! That’s the dream scenario.
I’m sorry Kjk but I don’t think we’re getting anyone soon, let alone the ones you mentioned.
What has Kenny done that is so fantastic?
Nothing.
Clive is correct.
He is a ‘yes’ man for Mr Meat Pie and Mr Mucky Morgan….
All coaches are yes men if they want a job in the future.
Since the “In” title has been head coach, there have been no great or even good managers. Alex Ferguson was most likely the last, Could you ever see anyone calling Fergy Head coach, no me neither.
Southern,
I thought this was a blog, for airing opinions and discussion.
I will henceforth shut my non fan mouth, and do as you tell me.
p.s. are you a muslim?
Nice one Clive you are a star
FFS Clive,
What’s the matter with you man, youv’e been in Trumpland for too long.
Don’t you know we’re not allowed to say the M word any more, it’s just not cricket old chap.
Bother, now youv’e got me saying the C word.
Long may you be a carbuncle on the arse of these ploitically correct morons.
Poor deluded man……….Jackett that is !
Against the odds I think we’ll snatch a win a Loftus Road.
Pack the defence and play for a draw.
In the second half take off the only striker and bring on a pile of bricks and build a wall on the goal line.
Only mid season and the season is already over.
I shall definitely be wearing my optimistic face when I walk confidently into the pub on Saturday lunchtime to settle down with a pint to watch the game.
But my face will be lying. Rarely have I felt so pissed off with the state of our club. Two strikers to choose from, neither of which are close to being first choice standard. The likelihood of Nathan Byrne being dropped in at the deep end when he’s barely been given a chance recently to get up to match speed. A ropey defence who don’t seem able to function unless we keep ten men behind the ball.
I don’t necessarily blame Morgan. He stepped aside months ago and it’s Moxey and the board taking the decisions now. The way our luck is going at the moment there will have to be a hefty spend of the Afobe money in the coming week or we could still be facing a relegation battle come season’s end.
You know, I live too far away to get myself a season ticket. But I could live in the Bank’s Brewery and I’d have to think twice about bothering, given the total disregard being shown for the paying, adoring customers.
Either way, every point’s a prisoner, and I can see us retreating to a massed defence and scraping home.
Backs against the wall, tooth and nail in the defence, Byrne to take Graham’s mantle. Enohkabare to grab tbe only goal.
Me to wake up in a psychiatric hospital singing Wolves am we and Wolves am we, where the doctor turns out to be my long lost uncle Ian who fecked off with the Manchester United team bus driver’s wife and set up in London rearing racing poodles for Stud to finance his way through college to train as a psychiatrist.
He informs me that Wolves will make the play offs and he gets hauled away to the secure unit and has electrodes attached to his plums. Me best mate Clive of Houston puts up the money to get me out and back to Wolverampton ( no h ) and kenny Jackett promises to reward him with 5-1 next week against Bolton. He also (KJ) phones Boilesen and tells him to feck off and stop wasting our time.
Alls well that ends well. 1-0 to the Wanderers, 1-0 to the Wanderers.
🙂
Only one flaw with your plan/dream/psychotic episoide as far as I can see. Won’t Enobakhare be on duty for the FA Youth Cup game on Friday night that it seems Jez has roped you in to promote for him and therefore won’t be at Loftus Road? Are you Jez’s guest in the corporate? lol
Why not play my latest game? Try naming 18 names of fit and available Wolves players for Saturday’s squad. I can get to 17 but no more. By the way you can only have 2 goalkeepers.
You are right mate, I am basing my info on the last game ( which Ia also attended in the Wolves Lotto box as tonight) KJ has indeed seen the value of Enokhabare and included him in the first team squad, but what value do we place on tne U18’s FA cup run or our lost cause in the First team. I shall find out tomorrow ar 6 pm.
My team or attempt.
Ikeme
Iorfa Doherty Batth EBL
Coady McDonald
Edwards, Byrne Henry
Sigurrdson
Subs,
Martinez
Golbourne deslandes
Saville Price, Rowe
Enokhbare, le Fondant
That’s 19 in my reckoning, 18 if Scott Sellars plays Enokhabare.
I am full of Vodka & Coke at 12 31 am so that’s a good effort.
With Newports Aaron Collins alledgedy signed for £100,000 that’s 18 again as a possible.
I think the crux here is, define fit!
Looking at the defence last Saturday, three of them were not fit at all.
Keep me updated on the February outcome.
Stu
Martinez is injured too so that’ll be McCarey now. Deslandes and Rowe are the ones I forgot. Van La Parra is the one you forgot – you did that on porpoise didn’t you!
Which ever way you look at it our bench is likely to consist of a young inexperienced keeper, two left backs one of whom is yet to play a league game, two midfielders who were so not rated we palmed them out on loan to League 1 clubs this season and neither of whom have played for us for over a year, a journeyman loanee striker who is pretty hopeless as evidenced by him missing that last kick sitter at West Ham – and Jack Price. Wow! Fair makes you swell up with pride don’t it?
McCarey was the one I knew about, I certainly knew about Martinez and can 100% attribute that to the Vodka, there was conscious intention to name McCary but brain cells were fried. RVLP fancy me of all people leaving him out of my team, Hmmm. ( it was a genuine error.)
No Graham and no Zyro means no goals for. A back four that leaks like a colinder means loads of goals against.
I see the Dutch fella isn’t coming either. What does “we scouted him but he won’t be coming to Wolves” mean? My guess is when he saw what was on offer he packed his clogs and ran as fast as he could. Fifteen quid a week and a flat in Whitmore Reans probably isn’t going to do the trick Jez!
I rarely get angry but the Afobe sale and lack of a strategy to get a replacement is nothing short of criminal and is really starting to piss me off. Hurry up and F off Morgan for God’s sake!
Frankly who gives a shit? We have an owner who doesn’t care, a ceo who is only interested in milking us for wages until he decides it’s time for him to go, a manager who has no bollocks to resign on principle and a team who doesn’t believe anything other than mid table will be achieved by the end of the season. Why should us season ticket holders get animated after years of failure? 6-0 to QPR or 6-0 to wolves what changes?
Like you I used to be definitely apathetic now I just don’t care.
The transfer fee for Afobe was taken when offered, because it will provide revenue when our parachute payments cease, to save Morgan dipping into his wallet at the end of the season.
Anyone who thinks we are going to spend is deluded, its survival only this season while Morgan is on his prayer mat every night wishing for a buyer.
Surely though we can find a striker on loan, if not play the kids, that Bright lad scored a wonderful goal pre season at Doncaster. I agree park the bus, hope for a lucky or streaky point or late goal, just don’t concede. Its grim but what else can KJ do.
Wolves to sneak it, 2-1.
Afobe has not really contributed for months. We miss Zyro much more than Afobe if he is not playing..
We have only lost one in five and that defeat will have heightened the senses thus I cant see us getting turned over tomorrow…
Actually, maybe a hard fought draw, but I honestly cant see us losing……
QPR signing Washington does not mask the problems they have, they are maybe a little bit less shit than our relegation team of 3 years ago.
We have taken advantage of teams even worse than us recently and I think we will on Saturday. If i was a betting man, which I am, then a cheeky punt on the Wolves could be good value.
yes, play the young and hungry – Bright, Eusebio, Ennis and any others , they’ll benefit from the chance and who knows, may surprise some folk. Better than Le Fondre anyway. Hoping the Siggy back trouble is not ongoing, he could still be our hero.
I think we can get back to our defensive best on the road. Grahams shockingly unfortunate injury and Zyro’s calf obviously leaves us looking for a new plan going the other way. Can we find inspiration elsewhere? Personaly I’m not too confident those 3 of henry vlp and alf can find the net between them. Lets hope any of those reading this can prove me wrong or Kenny tries an alternative solution.
Well thank you Mr. Morgan you have well and truly screwed us, This time last year Afobe had just arrived, Sako was flying results positive. We were told money was there to replace Sako and more players like Afobe were the target. Now we are struggling to even put a decent 11 on the pitch. While I admire Edwards honesty it just shows even the players we have think there is little hope.
Early bird anyone?
Mick,
Hate to say it, but I’m just as negative as you at the moment.
Difficult to take any pre match positives out of this one, particularly as we’ve got nothing going forward (no RVLP does not count!).
Let’s hope the lads can salvage something from this train wreck and prove us wrong!
COYW!
Once the early Birds fall on your Mats…
Please post them back to WWFC addressed to Mr Moxey and Mr Morgan..
It’s one blow after another.
Not that we really thought we could make the playoffs, they get poor old Dave Edwards to break it to us. Thanks m&m. The spin is we should be happy where we are with the squad we have. I.E the usual no signings in January are forthcoming .So in a twisted upper management gem we are over achieving and should all be happy!classic.
All positive then..I’ve never seen such a set of down hearted (realistic) comments on here..
It’s not that KJ is a strategist to fix the other bloke who must be rubbing his hands..
I heard that Williamson had signed presumably not true? That at least would give us a chance to manage the back.
Even RVLP is welcome IMO but why not bring in Ennis ..?I was expecting Bright anyway but he’ll historically end up coming on late second half after the damage is done..
Just to remind you Stu at the match I’ll start moaning and groaning after about 3 minutes..
But we are Wolves… so lets all face this together…
Steve,
You will be there at 12-30 to watch a team of under achievers, coached by a spineless single cell invertebrate, owned by a Scouse version of lobby, who employs a useless lump of lard that does absolute zilch on behalf of our once great club.
You have every right to whinge, moan, play your face, blaspheme, swear or vent your spleen in every way you please. I shall enjoy the day win lose or draw and I am certain you will be back for more.
I shall text the name of the pub London loyal will be in ( with the QPR fans) en-route on Saturday, I’m sure you have it alreadt but just in case.
Wolves am we
Fed up with all the shite we have to endure?
Depressed at the amount of spin shoved in our face?
Sad at the decline of our once great club.?
Take heart, it can get feckin worse, it did before and can again.
So cheer yourselves up, put real football back at the forefront of your life.
Get value for money without Jackett’s involvement.
The U18’s play tomorrow night at Molineux in the FA youth cup at 7 pm.
Adults £4
Over 65’s and under 12’s £1
Feckin good footy at reasonable prices and a team that does give 100% for 90 minutes.
I’ll be there in the corporate box, swanning it up with the boys.
COY Boy’s
🙂
Ennis Armstrong Rohnan, Enokhabare, Micu and more good players.
Oh yes, then up at 5-30 to get the coach at 7-30 to QPR.
NOT THAT FED UP OF ALL THE SHITE.
🙂
So here’s my team selection for Loftus rd
Parkes: Shaw,Parkin,Hegan,Munro,McAlle,McCalliog,Hibbitt,Richards,Dougan,Wagstaffe
5=1
Oh
Times seem to have changed…..now we should worry that even Karl Henry might score
My actual prediction is born of random hope
No Mike Bailey?
Bailey injured..otherwise first name on team sheet
this side was good enough to see off Juventus in 1971
at least my prediction was OK…and vlp was man of the match which is a bit weird given how he has played before
With no Afobe, Jordan Graham or Zyro and no signings – in fact I am struggling to come up with 18 names for the trip – my head tells me we will get stuffed 0-3 against Jimmy Floyd Hasselhof’s ‘Oops with Conor Washington nailed on to score.
But stuff the head. I have always been led by my heart and so my thoughts go back to a match at Loftus Road in around March 1969. It was a nothing game as we were safe from relegation and they were doomed for the drop. Still it was one of my 4 or 5 Wolves games a season. Back then I only saw Wolves at away games in London living as I did then in the Smoke.
The game was about 5 minutes old when Peter Knowles got the ball in the centre circle but was immediately closed down. Lesser players would have laid the ball off to a teammate but Knowlesey had the cockiness of youth to turn away looking for space. Again he was closed down and again. Eventually to the delight of the QPR fans near me and my Dad Knocker turned in frustration and passed the ball all the way back to Phil ‘Lofty’ Parkes from the halfway line. Cue derision from the home fans. How dare they! How dare they make fun of the great Peter Knowles! I was livid but as a 12 year old boy I had to bite my tongue.
Lofty though picked up the ball and launched a flipping enormous kick into the QPR half. Now a cardinal rule for all centre halves in such a situation is ‘don’t let it bounce!’. Fortunately the QPR centre halves that day did exactly that – they DID let it bounce and as the pitch was largely comprised of bone dry mud mixed with sand (for the benefit of younger bloggers in them days grass was absent from football pitches pretty much from about November onwards or in the case of Derby’s Baseball Ground from the end if August) the ball bounced up high and over their heads. Who was lurking and nipped in behind them? Only The Doog that’s all. Before the ball could bounce a second time The Doog whacked it in that way he had which looked so awkward but was so effective and it nestled in the bottom corner. Goal! A small 12 year old lad from North London went crazy with delight and, standing on his seat waving his Wolves scarf in the air, turned around to the nearby home fans with a grin and a look that said as clear as day “THAT’s what you get when you make fun of Peter Knowles!”. Nothing else happened in the next 85 minutes and we won 1-0 and finished the season 16th whilst QPR were duly relegated.
So if you are there on Saturday or even watching on TV watch out if after about 5 minutes McDonald passes all the way back to Ikeme from the halfway line and Ikeme launches a monster kick,………………………
Predicting a Wolves result this season is harder than picking the winning lotto numbers!. With all the forwards missing I think we’ll ‘score only once through the ever reliable Dave Edwards. Unfortunately as the defence is still weak that goal won;t be enough.
Right or wrong,I’m taking no notice of Rangers win at Rotherham last week.Redfern said it was the barmiest game he’d seen for a long time and the scores could easily have been reversed. Here’s hoping.
Don’t panic! Have you lot not been watching our new centre forward ? Who you may ask? VLP of course!!
He has had so much shooting practice whilst playing up front that he has now zoned onto the target.
The result of which will be a blistering 15 minute hat-trick!
“Sing when you’re winning, you only sing when you’re winning………..”
First Dicko and now Graham and all so Zyro out for at least the QPR game, no luck at all with injuries.
I’ll take a draw from this one if only to keep QPR behind us, if they win they’ll go above Wolves on GD.
The Wolves players have said plenty of times how close knit the team is and how they all pull together, well now is the time to show it lads, backs to the wall and dont give in.
Its time to pull up the draw bridge now and grind out the results, never mind the quality feel the points.
Would love a win but a draw will do.
I can’t see us winning with such a depleted squad.
Am starting to believe that there will be no new signings in the transfer period.
So I am gonna go with realism following the come down we had against Cardiff.
Inconsistency seems to be the buzz word this season.
#UTW
Gonna keep it all positive. What time does the cricket start?
Qpr 0. Wolves 0
I do love the banter on here, makes mornings very interesting and amusing.
Everything that can be said about the farce that is currently Wolves has been said.
We will park the bus and hope for a draw,
Cant find the right player for the right price because we wont pay the right price for the right player. I know bad luck plays a big part with injuries but you tend to get more injuries in the sort of season we have had.
For Stu london Bedford and the rest of the blogs infirm firm 2-1 to WWFC.
…………….
I may be on a mental and physical low at the moment and if I wasn’t I would probably not make this post but I am getting absolutely F**KING PISSED OFF with the cheap, uninformed sniping at Kenny Jackett right now.
It was always thus – the manager is praised when the team does well and is a ‘tactically naive idiot’ when it struggles.
What gets me most is the old chestnut that fans who haven’t got the faintest idea about tactics or formations are suddenly transformed into strategic wizards and criticise the coaching ability of the head coach.
“He shouldn’t have been allowed to come inside on his left foot. That’s down to bad coaching”
NO! That is down to the inability of the player to stop him doing it.
Don’t you think that the first thing a coach will tell his team is how to negate the skills and abilities of their opponents?
Hell! I used to play a pretty lowly standard of local football in Bristol. Our coaching included how not to spill your beer down yourself after the match and how to get a quick drag of a spliff with the half time oranges.
But even we were told about the strengths of the opponents and how to stop them.
It didn’t always work but we didn’t go bleating to the manager when we were made to look like idiots. We took responsibility.
In my opinion, Carl Ikeme has been at fault with quite a few of the goals we have conceded recently.
Is that because Kenny forgot to tell him to keep the ball out of the net?
Bad coaching again.
KJ may not the greatest head coach in the World but, given the fact that he has both hands tied behind his back he’s doing a decent job.
I keep asking the people who want him gone, who, realistically, would replace him given the circumstances?
I’m still waiting for a sensible answer.
And as for him having the balls to resign on principle – The old saying ‘People in glass houses…’ springs to mind.
I expect every middle aged man, or woman, would do just that if they felt that they could make a point with their boss. In the sure and certain knowledge that they could walk straight into another job and the mortgage and all the other bills would be paid and their future security was assured.
Get Real!
Plus, if you have any balls and valued your job, wouldn’t you rather stay on and try to turn things round?
Whoever replaces KJ will be working under exactly the same restrictions, so what will change?
Perhaps they might tell Doherty to keep him off his left foot or Ikeme to stop the roundy bouncy thing going between those sticky things into that netty thing. That’s coaching for you.
We all now that it is the fate of managers to end up with the sack.
Jackett will be no exception.
But until he does, or we are sold (the two things might well go together) things ain’t going to change so we’re stuck with it.
For what he’s done in the last couple of seasons he deserves some support.
If the above post has offended any blogger, I apologise.
I just felt it needde to be said.
Doogooder.
I take exception to the fact you think you could offend us, we’re too thick skinned for that shite, after all we support Wolves.
Does good to get some weight off the shoulders now and again, hope that’s done it for you. (If not, Smirnoff works pretty good)
🙂
Light the blue touch paper..lol
KJ has had enough chances to show that he has a handle on the team strategically and by getting the best out of his players by motivating them..
When you see comments from Afobe the second worst tradgedy in 3 seasons say that he will learn
a lot from Eddie Howe ..he didn’t learn a lot from KJ by being sacrificed on his lonesome..
This was because we have had defensive problems which KJ had the opportunity to correct in the first half of the season – .. incidently its started again..
He is unable to impose himself successfully
this season and because of the expectations
(And his) that we should be in the top six then
Therefore he must carry the can.- Thats what happens DG.
ITS FOR ALL TO SEE as I said particularly in the first half of the season……
Bollox, just saying like.
Yep, spot on young man 🙂
I see that Nantes have rejected our bid for Sala ..typical ..when we do find a great player we can’t negotiate..I reckon we’ll prob loose him..
#financially inept mutant Cretins..
I agree Thomas, we sold Afobe far too quickly. And too cheaply. When you look at significant players injured or sold, the list is awesome: Sako (out of contract); Dicko-injured; Stearman- sold; Hause-injured; Martinez-injured; Afobe-sold; Graham-injured; Zyro-injured. To add loans, Williamson and Ojo recalled. Have we replaced or strengthened? Sadly not. Factor in the fact that Ikeme is a shadow of the keeper he was in the last two seasons. I can’t see us getting anything at QPR.
Just listened to Jacketts pre match interview same old sound bites, need to tighten up at the back, looking to bring players in, blar , blar , blar,
Sorry but carnt see anything but a loss with Zero out, no Graham where are the goals going to come from RVP, Henery very much dout it.
I see the Ajax deal is dead never expected anything else from this short sighted bunch ruining our club, yes that wasn’t a miss print ruining.
Of course there new signing Washington going to show us ” look what you could have won ” in the words of Bulls Eyes Jim Bowen and score………..pathetic this board owner and yes ” The Head Coach ” to !
Super…Smashing..Q. but did you enjoy yourselves…
A.No ffs..
I can’t see a Wolves win tomorrow but I refuse to predict anything other than a 3-point gain. Maybe VLP will find his scoring boots, maybe McDonald or Henry will hit a 30 yard screamer, who knows. I think the defence will struggle more than they did against Cardiff but they will certainly be busy.
I think we will struggle big time to finish in the top half. With no new signings on the horizon I fear for this team.
I said this in the first two or three weeks of this season, and I have not changed my mind.
Mark firstly well said it obviously comes from the heart. Particularly agree that the current hierarchy is too inept and unambitious to attract anyone much better. It is also probably fair to say you are a big and loyal fan of Kennys. Having said that the way things have gone this season i dont think he should or needs to be above criticsm. It comes with the territory Dave Jones and Mick McCarthy got to the Premier league and they had it in spadefulls. (Personally i think the managers should get paid more than the players). Crticism doesnt always mean you are ‘calling for his head’ and i think his job is safer than most anyway. That a third of all managers have lost there jobs this season is a bit ridiculous.
I can’t really see goals coming from us, plus not seeing any possible signings coming in either which is a little worrying.
Hoping for a draw.
Come on lads.
Firstly Clive … Please don’t shut your mouth .. To the old school like us , you are proper wolves . The very fabric of the south and north bank .
On a good match day I have often enjoyed being sat next to or having a pint with funny dry Black Country lads like you . And let’s face it . For most of my 40 years at wolves the football has been shite . So Clive !! Long may it continue . We get it !
Thomas I absolutely get what you are saying . I hope we park the bus and try not to lose . Perhaps maintaining a position where if a miracle happened and wolves showed some integrity to their fantastic supporters and signed a couple of players …, well .. You know what I’m getting at Utw
Fo m&m
Appreciate that, London
The heading on the response box does say Speak Your Mind.
In my case, ‘er indoors always says I have no filters, the words come out before any semblance of order or diplomacy surface.
But, fuck it, I don’t give a shit .
I see no need for me, or anyone else on this blog, to apologize for their beliefs and opinions.
Life would be boring indeed if we all had the same thoughts, likes and dislikes.
But, there is one common thought amongst us Wolves fanatics, and that is:
FOwb
Clive, Saying something from the heart is the only way, if it needs to be said. Say it then go to the pub. This is the reason that I worked for myself mostly, I would not know where to start where to lick arse to help me climb greasy pole in a large organization, I could have earned a lot more money BUT I would not have been my own man.
Sorry to harp on about the last match but I couldn’t understand the lack of closing down in front of our box. Perhaps we need to find a way of playing both Coady and Price?
I don’t usually predict a loss but I’m really losing it in the positivity stakes, particularly in the absence of first team reinforcements in the foreseeable future.
No comment. Apart from us purchasing an 18 year old striker ….. so all our problems are resolved!!! FFS. However:
Just reading his story, he used to flip Burgers at McDonalds to get petrol money.
That must have been the deciding factor for Moxey, thought of a lad with so much promise who can also make a Big mac and fries.
Sorted.
I was recently on holiday in Bali , my ten year old son showing interest in a stall across the way to my wife , I’d noticed in a way that dads do because he would normally have tugged my arm when we are talking footy , I knew what had cought his eye , a dodgy guy who later tried to sell me Viagra from his money bet! Was selling even dodgier Real Madrid and Barcelona shirts! Now I had to this point always got stuck into him regarding ‘other teams ‘ than wolves but there is only so much you can tell somebody born in 2005 about Steve bull when Fifa 16 is all his mates talk about, so I sudemly found myself saying ” sure you can have one mate , at that price get one of each , now I’m sure your al thinking, what the feck has that got to do with qpr away , and the answer would be feck all but my point is , well I kind of gave up a little on pushing wolves so much because, well what’s the point! I know my boy will always love wolves because I told him from early doors ‘ you support the team your dad supported, but sadly I think he could be another fan lost to the current regime!! Unless of course we win the next 15 games, win the play off final and push for champions league! There I go again !! Utw
Don’t loose faith! Many yeras ago my daughter supported Man Utd. I took her to the Mol, that was enough for her to dump Ryan Giggs. his duvet set and bath towel and become a Wolves fan, my son is also a Wolves fan. I never pressed them but I suspect they just got worn down with my intense ramblings – they were probably brainwashed !
😉
Bedford … About that 69 game at loft us road … Would you mind sketching the way the goal was scored and posting to me
Hahahahaha, good one! Will be my pleasure mate.
Sticking my neck out here, but I think we can beat them even though they have a new striker who wants to impress, providing KJ takes a long hard look to what he’s got left in his locker after all the Woe’s,there should be players hungry and eager enough to do a job for us as said IF he takes a risk, but if not take the draw and park the bus.
But I’ve gotta say why didn’t KJ get a replacement striker ready and waiting to come in on the sale of Adobe.
I don’t know if his hands are tied, but I do think he’s a bit of a arse licker who doing what he’s told.
Us fans are again frustrated by what not being done with the money what should be available for strengthening after the sale of our prized asset, alas we all know where the money has gone.
As ever UTW….
Come on – it can’t be all bad …… can it?
I think the first team might show up tomorrow.
Shepherds Bush and the famous Blue Peter garden tended to by Percy Thrower. I seem to recall back in the day some uproar. A drunken Shane McGowan of The Pogues fresh from Top of The Pops climbed in to the garden and had a piss in it. Summat like that any way. So on to QPR and a dull game between 2 mid table sides can only mean an equally dull draw. A goal from a corner. EEL to score.
This club is a shambles and its all about saving a few quid. We’ll buy anyone in a fire sale regardless of their position so at this point they are midfielders or one’s for the future.
Latest intel ..apparently (Mr) Morgan’s keeping the club ..bringing in another invester and Moxey is a gonner..
This is either a good wind up or there is no smoke without fire..
Better the devil you know?
If Morgan stays then so will we – exactly where we are now, fecking nowhere!
Can’t see us getting anything tomorrow I’m sad to say !
Latest Intel ..counter rumour Moxey has tried for a take over with a consortium and Afobe was sold to reduce the price ..
Seems there is blood on the carpet..
Anyone know london pubs fairly near QPR open at least from 9am? Come in London Wolves with the Intel.
Cheese burger .. Fuck me I thought I was bad. ,!
I ve replied to this once so my post may come up twice
I ve lived most of my adult life down here and I’m not sure how thing s are back in the Midlands . The way it works here is that if There s a market on then you ve usually a pub that’s open early .
Shepards bush has a market , and I myself will be in the conningham arms which is near the market and near loftus rd . I am going there as it opens at 11 and I will meet some rangers lads that I know in there . I am not saying there aren’t others open earlier nearby.. I’ve never had a reason to need one there . There may well be as ,like I say there is a market and there are a lot of pubs on the Uxbridge road .
Did you get to the Duke of Sussex in the end ?
Niall Ennis out for three months?
Is this right or am I hallucinating?
Yeh, fractured his fibula . Maybe the ‘gypsy’ curse is true after all !
Good news! Our U18’s won 5-0 in the FA Youth Cup tonight! Not won it since 1958 buy maybe this year?
Bad news! Niall Ennis broke his leg and is out for 3 months.
Good news! Bright Enobakhare didn’t play as he is with the first team at QPR – play him Kenny, he’s a damnbed sight more exciting than ALF or any other fit striker we are left with.
P.S. for StuWolf and Clive from Heuston – city girls just seem to find out early…………………………………..
How to open doors with just a smile……
Just watched the game, absolute walkover, Daniel Armstrong got two Delacore got two anf the sub Leningsone came on and got one.
The Morgan story broke during the match and confirms what I was told on Sunday by my mate across the road, his relative works in corperate Wolves and she told us he was coming back. Apart from Steve Showcase and I, I kept it under wraps to find out more but could’nt until tonight on “wolves rumours,,com”
Story goes on, he’s bringing in his own CEO and will resructure the board, he had tried to buy a smaller team and sold Afobe to offset the loss.
If he comes in and pumps millions in and dump Moxey the crowd will back him as I think they hate Moxey more than Morgan, there is a consortium involved with him. Moxey was trying to get one together so better the devil we
We know. We will be amazing to get anything this year but next could be of interest.
This is what was on the website so lets delve to gleen more info and it’s authenticity.
Please God be right as nothing changed since he left just more Moxey spin.
🙂
More for Bedford,
A rich old man she wont have to worry
Just dress up all in lace and leaves him with a smile
On the other side of town a boy is waitin
With starry eyes and dreams no one can see
So he drives on through thr ppe night anticipation
Cause he makes her feel tha way she used to feel.
The only song I wanna hear outta fat slug’s gob is
Already Gone
He always got the Best of your love.
StuWolf….
I think the Album ‘Desperado’ by the Eagles is far more synonymous with Wolves’s plight than middle of the road ‘Lying Eyes’.
Can’t see Morgan suddenly deciding to dispense with Moxey.
Also, cannot see anyone wanting to go into ‘partnership’ with Morgan, unless they want to be ripped off!
going for a 2-1 to wolves QPR are struggling to find any form and win can win playing bad and we’ve can win south of Watford COYW
If things go really well we may find a way to score zero goals and restrict them to less than 4. Or it could be worse than that…
Of course, I meant 3 goals for QPR – not sure what 3c means – conceded? Complete crap?
Nothing in the big picture has changed or been resolved.
Still no owner ready to invest in good players.
Still not willing to pay good players the going wages, so still losing out to other clubs.
Still not going to bring in replacements for good talent (can you say Sako, Afobe, …)
Still playing with an average mid-table championship set of players.
Still coached by a manager who was brought in only because he was the only one who agreed he’d just do what he’s told.
Still got Moxey.
Still got Morgan.
And I still cannot get any predictions right, so they’ll probably win tomorrow. 🙂
Go Wolves!
There’s been so many rumours about the takeover these last few months that I ain’t believing anything until the ink is dried on the paper.
But, in theory, and contrary to what many on her might say, I don’t feel Morgan staying is the worst thing that could happen. Somewhere, deep down inside, he wants what’s best for us. He may not be the ‘throw millions at it’ type of owner that many may crave but I’m sure he wants us to be as good as we can be, if only to protect the value of his investment. I also think he’s been hurt by fans criticism more than we may realise, hence the overreaction when it all got personal post-match at, err, Preston wasn’t it.
Now Jez Moxey, that’s a whole different pork pie.
Anyway, like I said, I’ll believe it when I see it. So there.
Heading up to the game in a minute. COYW. Pretty pretty please.
We’ll be totally outplayed
Can’t see anything but an uninspiring performance, but though I’ve tried before, I can’t predict a loss. A lot of this disappointing season is down to bad luck though, especially for young Niall Ennis. Hope his recovery is speedy and thorough.
As much as I have tried to be optimistic in recent weeks I can’t see how that mish mash team out today can get anything from QPR.
I think we might lose this one but can’t bring myself to predict it. It’ll be interesting to see how our only (loan) strike ALF does now he’s going to get a start. Come on me babbies!
Don’t know why the heck I’ve gone for my normal score!
Saw the match on TV. Glad I was wrong about the score again. Spirited display, we had the better of the second half. QPR goalie MOTM for them? Conor Washington looked good when he came on late. Wolves MOTM? Van la Parra for me, wonderful footwork, looked like Jordan Graham!
Back from pub. I’ll take the point after good second half display.
Also back from the pub. Good point after a good second half performance. Well done VLP. MOTM. COYW. OAU. 🙂
Looked bit end of season. Physically we had there measure in the second half and could have gone on and won it with more goal threat. Van man could be Premier league (one day).
Amazing how good van la para has become also well done wolves for a good second half display . Deserved to win that
I might have said this before but will say it again and I don’t care that he flukily managed to score today but James Henry is fecking useless. As I texted BOG during the game if Henry is a footballer then I am an Albanian ski instructor (which I’m not by the way). The man has no pace, no ball control, time and again promising moves break down as soon as he gets involved, in fact he is hopeless. Why KJ persists with him is xa mystery along the scale of why Super Mick persisted with Stephen Ward.
Oh and rumour has it that StuWolf is starting a Van La Parra Fan Club which after today’s MOTM performance he should do.
Bedford,
You are right mate, I give credit where credit is due, since he stopped throwing himself to the ground he has come on leaps and bounds. Definitely MOTM Kevin McDonald close second.
Brilliant day out, no aggravation in the QPR pub, around the ground or inside at any time. Highlight of the game was the Steward going down the wing and colliding with his mate, resulting in him being stretchered off to hospital. On the wages they get I smell a compo claim.
Seriously, the run and eventuall shot by Doherty was a treat to see. Really stung the goalies hands. Didn’t look as good on the replay as it was at the ground as they editted the first few passes out.
All the holes in the swiss cheese are lining up and as one player drops another steps up to the plate.
Graham out, RVLP in.
Hause out ,EBL in.
Williamson out, zDoherty in.
Price out, Coady in.
Moxey out, Morgan back in.
Great day at the office.
🙂
Everyone Seems Delighted We got a Draw against a very average team.
We were woeful again First half and slightly better in the 2nd..
When RVLP is the best we have got its time to look down the table not upwards..
Bolton won today, our next opponents… Should be interesting..
Just seven days ago we played a very average team from this average league and they shoved 3 up us, just 14 days ago we played a top 6 side from the Premiership and gave away a goal with 5 minutes of normal time remaining after a sterling performance.
So to play poor in the first half today and then turn things around so well in the second half away from home made me a bloody happy chappie indeed.
We showed fight and determination, that’s what I interpret as an improvement on last week, so I will take that thanks.
🙂
