In many ways, Rajiv Van La Parra is the ideal emblem for our current side – undoubtedly talented but perennially inconsistent.

Today the occasionally flying Dutchman enjoyed one of his better days in a gold and black shirt.
A constant menace to a laboured Paul Konchesky, he gave the team a focal point that allowed them to grow in confidence after a disastrous start to proceedings at Loftus Road.
Danny Batth’s needless foul gave the home side a chance to put our defence under pressure. It was an opportunity that the gargantuan Sebastian Polter accepted gleefully, heading crisply past a helpless Carl Ikeme.
That set the tone for a first half that highlighted our dearth of resources, with our main tactic comprising of aimless long balls to a vertically challenged striker.
To be fair to Adam Le Fondre, he was only asked to play the fruitless lone striker role that Benik Afobe occupied before his recent departure.
Speaking of Afobe, unsurprising to see that we’ve yet to reinvest any of the healthy profit we made from his sale. One can’t help but wonder if that would have been the case if we were still flirting with relegation?
Given the way that the club has been run since our brief foray into League One, it seems fair to assume there’s no intention to spend now that safety has been all but assured.
In some respects, a transfer market splurge during the financially imprudent month of January could be considered ill advised.
The squad is crying out for reinforcements – of that there can be no doubt – but we’re unlikely to land our top targets (whoever they may be) at a time when most teams still have something left to play for.
If waiting until the summer means seeing some quality additions being made to our already promising side, then I’m all for it.
But the realist in me says that the only place the Afobe money’s going is into another admirable but ultimately ill advised real estate project such as the recently opened The Way.
Considering there hasn’t been a whiff of interest from prospective buyers of the club, that’s a sobering outlook for the immediate future.
Still, best to concentrate on the positives and our second half performance certainly fits that description.
Other than a late scare, we controlled the game against much more experienced opposition and would have won comfortably were it not for the stellar defending of Grant Hall and Nedum Onuoha.
A crumb of comfort to cling on to until we reconvene against the league’s bottom club, who’ve already beaten us once this season.
Here’s hoping we’ll be cheering at least one new signing onto the pitch by then – let’s not hold our breath though.

I also thought van La Parra was fantastic today and given our chronic lack of pace and technical ability in the final third, he’s indispensable.
You blame Batth for the opening goal mate, I blame Ebanks-Landell who stood two yards off his man and wasn’t even goal side when the ball came in. Awful defending.
Le Fondre has looked lost every single time I’ve seen him play and that goes for 442 or 451 before anyone jumps down my neck. We need two strikers in my opinion.
Great second half though, after a dismal first. Some great runs from deep by the likes of Doherty, Coady and RvLP caused them all sorts of grief and I can’t believe you didn’t mention the stonewall penalty we were denied, which might have given us a win most QPR supporters couldn’t argue with given how the game played out.
You ask if Morgan would be more inclined to dip his hand into his pocket if we were closer to the bottom three – the answer is ‘no’ mate. The last time we went down from the Championship, he didn’t invest a penny in January and instead spent most of the month trying to offload players – Zubar and Stearman being two.
I felt encouraged by what I saw second half, but it’s a painful to think how good the squad was last season, when you consider we’ve lost at least four key players from that group and what remains is still a tidy, competitive side.
Yeah, I concur. Ebanks-Landell at fault imo.
yes, its quite an achievement by Kenny n Co that with the “magic trio” all departed or injured we’re still competing … VLP was something special yesterday, the MOTM interview was worrying however as he really seemed to duck the question about his future with Wolves.
Thought the article below was very relevant considering yesterdays team selection, we may as well have had “no striker” on the pitch …
Wolves blog: The Molineux men are still striker light – and we’ve only known it for the past 18 months!
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-blog-molineux-men-still-10778231
I thought VLP was excellent: quick, skillful, enthusiastic, played with a smile on his face, put in some great crosses to…. to…. to a player we have never had – a forward who likes to get on the end of crosses rather than have the ball played into feet. Personally I’d like one of each. One who can head the ball, hold the ball up, lay it off on the ground or in the air and unleash a speedster playing off him. Kind of like….. Dougan and Richards (of happy memory). We have a squad replete with wingers (though some are now injured) but have never had a forward who is capable of playing to their strengths. Le Fondre is certainly not that man and has never pretended to be. Afobe wasn’t really that man either. KJ can you whistle one up before VLP gets bored beating defenders and crossing the ball and goes back into his shell. Pretty please.
VLP looked a different class today… Practically Brazilian. I thought our second half showing was pretty impressive, we still look livly in the middle and good going forward but a striker or two would definitely have won us the game. ALF just isn’t Championship quality I’m sorry to say, too small and not physical enough for 4-5-1.
Hope Dangerous Dave is OK.
I’m desperately hoping for quality 1st team signings but I’m just not understanding how it’s going to happen given failed attempts and lack of investment so far.
Up the wolves
A point ,but should have been 3.
Second half we was awesome in some of our play until it got to the finishing line and we couldn’t cross it with their keeper playing so well and us not having a decent striker to put the ball in the onion bag.
I too thought the van man had an excellent game and deserved the MOM award,I’ve been saying for a long time the kids got talent but needs to be nurtured and like all kids he needs to be told when he’s done well.
Hopefully KJ can muster a miracle and get a couple of forwards and a C/H to enable us to push for that elusive playoff place that is in our grasp, if only the powers that be want what we crave.UTW
We were awesome, excuse my grammar.
When we got into our stride we looked
the better balanced and stronger side.Havent seen Zyro yet but we still need to replace Afobe.
We are now in the rather frustrating position with just over half the season gone where there doesnt seem much point looking up or down.
Yes we need more players, better players, replacements etc (though there never seems to be a lack of interest from other clubs). Yes Kenny has got his hands tied etc.
But to a large extent thats life in the Championship. Apart from Derby and the recently relegated sides and a few smaller clubs at the bottom most in this division are in the same boat. We have had some decent players come through the ranks we have made quite a few signings even if it has been bargain hunt. Will Kenny ever have a much bigger and better squad to work
with i am not sure.
Today changes very little.
The need for an experienced central defender remains dire. Neither DB or EEL is good enough individually at this level. As a partnership, they a continuing disaster.
As has been said, VLP is playing out of his skin, but until we get a striker of some ability his efforts are simply wasted. Surely there must have been some merit in giving Bright an opportunity at some point in today`s game, given yet another woeful performance from ALF.
Our cause is not helped by Mr Jacket`s continuing lack of selection consistency, and inability to use substitutes effectively to impact a game. Suddenly the useless Saville having been bunged off to Milwall, is back in favor, whereas Price, who has consistently demonstrated organisational ability and no little skill in midfield, is treated as if he has leprosy, and is totally ignored ?
We are again being subject to the usual weekly bleating refrain form Mr Jacket, that team strengthening is essential — just as was recognized by all of us many months ago. But what players of any quality will be available to us if we are not prepared to pay competitive wages. ? The owner clearly has no interest, while in the eyes of the Pieman team strengthening means yet more on the cheap signings of ” ones for tomorrow ” who will have zero impact, and will likely end the season on loan at Scunthorpe.
In recent times we have dribbled away a few millions on acquisitions such as Saville, Byrne, and Wallace etc, none of whom have had any impact . Where is there any logic in this policy ? It would surely make far more sense to combine whatever monies are available to facilitate one decent acquisition who can immediately add real quality to the team. We can but hope.
We played with some passion.
VLP, as others point out was excellent.
Some of our players try to make up for their lack of skill with enthusiasm.
The incident with the Savile/Edwards substitution seemed to show KJ’s indecisiveness.
Still, all things considered, we should have won.
For me that’s a step in the right direction.
Why not give ‘Bright’ a chance?
He can’t be worse than Alf…..
Mike
I agree on Saville and Wallace’s lack of impact, but not on Byrne.
I think this lad has a lot of potential footballing wise with a good turn of pace, skill and can shoot (RVLP?!?!).
He needs a decent run in the side and I would like to see that happen now that Jordan Graham is out long term.
C’mon Kenny give the kid a chance.
UTW!
Wokingham Welsh
100% agree on Byrne, the kid is outstanding and really does deserve a better chance. My only thought is Kenny see’s him day in day out on the training ground and perhaps he see’s a problem.
But when the lad came on at Charlton our game changed from one of back to the wall defending to one of Byrne tackling (and winning tbe ball back) running at them and totally spoiling what was turning out to be a bad day for them.
Bring in Byrne
Bring in Byrne
🙂
I agree on Byrne. KJ often says about how much pace we’ve lost up front and yet there it is, swanning around on the bench. With Graham tearing defenders new bottoms, I could understand him not getting much game time. But now?????
Great report Rasmin.
@ Mike – I don’t get the Saville / Price situation – what is that all about? Neither do I understand loaning Evans out again and bringing Saville into the first team squad. He was hardly a success on loan.
I would much rather see Bright given a run out than persevere with ALF. The future for Wolves has to be with the youngster. I also agree with WWW about Byrne. With it looking we are safe in mid table and unlikely to trouble the play off places I hope we can give both Byrne and Bright a decent run out.
Mike
You are looking for logic and sense, from those two??
On the pre-match sky interview Van man thanked ‘Chris’ for what he did for him at Brighton – dont know if others picked that up ? (Don’t think Ojo has been talking along those lines
back in Liverpool).
I wonder how many more mistakes Ethan Ebanks-Landell will make before we secure a far more capable replacement, he lad looks well out of his depth and urgently needs replacing.
Coupled with a major dip in form for Danny Batth and Dominic Iorfa we are all at sea at the back at present. While I would agree that we desperately need a couple of quality strikers (and a creative box to box midfielder to replace busted flush Dave Edwards) it is equally as obvious that the defence needs some serious additions too.
It is surely better to keep a few clean sheets and thereby only need one goal for a victory than to need the two or three (or even four) that we need now, a tight defence helps all areas of the team and takes the pressure off the forward players, so let’s address that issue next week alongside securing the strikers and midfielder that we so desperately need.
I don’t necessarily disagree about our defence (who could), but at the same time, I don’t recall Ikeme having a terribly busy day.
After a poor start, it was a good recovery and a good point. 4 more wins and we should be safe. As a club with a proud history, sadly, we are now a pale shadow of our former self. There is something seriously rotten at the core of our club when even with £10m+ incoming an identified target who has already performed well for us I.e Williamson is not signed up. How can a club which has always been run prudently, and with no debt, be scratching around in the transfer market like we are ? When kj says we can’t find the right players at the right price, I can see his frustration. I was equally frustrated when I tried to buy a new Aston Martin for £500. Lies, lies and more lies. I think the only meaningful act of defiance of any true wolves fan now is to boycott the early bird. Financially it will cost all wolves fans a bit of money but it will hurt Morgan and moxey’s cash flow big time. It is the only way to send a clear message to the club hierarchy. Enough is enough , we cannot keep being shafted by these two. If we buy early bird we are nothing better than financial gimps to the 2 Ms. Rant over!
Apologies but the use of prudently in my post above should have been in inverted commas. As a club our financial strategy is small minded and miserly. There is a focus on cost control without any balanced investment to try and make the team fit for promotion. Our first frame of reference is always “loss of parachute money etc”. Never any reference to the massive cash rewards available by getting back into the PL.
I used to work for a company with the same mind set, good staff never stayed long.
“They know the cost of everything but the value of nothing”.
Agree with Sutton Coldfield Wolf – The problem has and always will be the rigid wage structure at the Wolves defined by Morgan and Moxey. The players “put in a good shift today” but we need better quality. As seen by losing out in our recent bids money is the problem wether on the fee or the wages. It is obvious to anyone that we need a good tall/strong target man and a centre half at least. You can do it with cheap buys but when they get better their heads are turned to the higher pay elsewhere. It does take a leap of faith but for a businessman of Morgan’s ability (nobody can disagree with that he’s No 7 on the Birmingham post rich list 2016) must surely see that he needs to invest more not less to reach the Premier league (If we did get there it will take another leap of faith as well) Why not put them on a better win bonus and a bigger bonus if/when we get promoted and look at the wages all the while to see that individually they are well rewarded. So Mr Morgan its decision time – we watch with interest.
I doubt if anyone going home from the match could moan at the result which was fair and currently still puts us exactly where we belong in the league..
Quite often a team plays to the strength of their best player and RVLP was it yesterday. How things change.
EBL played being ‘a stopper’ fairly well – was out of position for their goal which I must say in our super supported end completely stunned me.
DB pushed his way through the match and I think if we polled all of us we would all agree that we are now categorically 4 players short of a punt at the top six.
K Mac looked good – man if the match shaded by Van..Henry had one of his typical quite crap games..Iorfa a shadow of his best (IMO on his way)
We didn’t cave in that was my conclusion and we could of even won it by a def penalty..
I must be one of the few optimists left as I am starting to work out the maths of being in the top six..
8-10 points adrift ..and a run of 6 wins needed..mmm..
If we buy the right players it is still possible but I’ve (almost) given up on that..
With confusing rumours re Morgan / Moxey / new buyer I think reluctantly we remain .. ‘as we were’..
My hope is waning …we are still flagrantly under resourced and it really showed yesterday..but in the circumstances it could of been worse.
I think the main problem is most of us think we are a chance for promotion based on our history! I seriously doubt it is even scribbled in the bottom corner of m and m statergy. They will carry on carrying on as they are , buy cheap , hopefully sell for more, and hopefully 20 000 clients continue to believe the spin ! The amount of cheap youngsters we are being linked with makes me wonder why we bothered spending all the money on the academy! Early bird anyone!!!
I’m not sure how much of the reason for us continually having an unbalanced and paper thin squad is actually down to M&M personally or simply because this is what you get when you put an accountant at the helm. JM would appear to excel in his role as one and I applaud him for that but very few regular businesses that I am aware of thrive with a “bean counter” running the show if some element of creativity and ambition is required.
No disrespect to all Wolves supporting accountants, naturally. Just an opinion…
Ugh even losing the will to comment on what is a non event season.
I’m shocked that RVLP is producing the goods, I’d written him off as some of his performances have been execrable.
Seems there’s lots of goals from former Wolves players; Sam Winnal hat trick for Barnsley, & our recent ex Afobe, much missed & symbolic of the status of our great club.
We play in old gold but it seems it’s more beige mediocrity than old gold glory with the Morgan Moxey era.
It’s the Poundland do it on the cheap mentality I hate. It’s there in the squad, it’s there in the half developed ground & the cheap Redrow faux scoreboard.
When are they going to give us belief in the club again, it seems we’re just going over old ground all the time. Repeating all the old mistakes & not moving on.
I live in hope & have got the season ticket habit so I’ll wait for better times, but can’t see where they’re coming from.
Iv’e just voted on the Wolves official site for my MOTM, to my surprise it was 85% RVLP with McDonald slightly less on around 3%.
Oh how a spell at Brighton has changed that kid, he is saving so much energy not having to pick himself up off the ground all the time. Perhaps we should send DB and a few others there to try and make some sense of this team.
We play Weat Ham and give a bloody good account of ourselves for 85 minutes then let them score (a very well taken goal if I’m being honest), then last week we didn’t really do a lot wrong except for letting Noone score two really good goals. Then yesterday as many have pointed out and most of you could see DB stands off Polder and EBL is found out of position again.
God knows what will happen next game, Bolton are having a torrid time of late and they won yesterday which by my reckoning as a Wolves fan, that put’s them on a winning streak. So we can look out. We have the home advantage, we are the better team, we are higher placed than them so it all points towards another spanking for us.
Until someone comes in and changes things at Molineux I fear this is our lot guys and gals, mediocre performances, brilliant personal displays from individuals one week and horrible schoolboy performances the next, (or even in the same match) is about what we can expect.
Sutton Coldfield Wolf, I’m Scottish, I’m 65 this year and all my life Iv’e stuck up for the little guy, my season ticket is half price this year so no disresect to your plan on the early bird boycott, but if you don’t mind, my protest this year is that I shall only be giving that Twat Morgan half my dosh this year for the first time in my life. I cannot explain how sweet that tastes. It will take all season long to chisel the smile off my ugly Scottish face. But, good luck with your plan to try and get others to pay full price instead of a reduced price, we the little guy take this early bird because we feel we have got one over on the bathplugs who fleece us year in year out (see that’s the Scot in me coming to the fore)
God, I feel so much better after a whinge.
Enjoy your day fellow bloggers.
🙂
Hi Stu,
Im 68 and I can tell you that the first time I got my season ticket crinkly rates 2 seasons ago from Morgan and Moxey was a really sweet day, particularly as a lot of clubs give the discount at 60 (it was like robbing the fat man’s piggy bank and getting away with it!).
As I travel up from Berkshire for home games it is a no-brainer in terms of price per game (i think it’s cheaper to go Early Bird than pick and choose individual games).
Sorry that I won’t be supporting Sutton Coldfield’s initiative with my own feet, but he and fellow supporters like him do have my sympathy and support.
COYW!
Afobe : totally stomach churning MOTD ..I keep visualising him in our strip..what a header..
If Morgan doesn’t realise the hurt that he’s inflicted (on his own supporters) with Sako and Afobe and the wages scenario ..then he’s not human..
Almost tear jerking to see..
I have forgotten Sako and I have forgotten Afobe. They are no longer Wolves players. So I have moved on.
It is what it is. I agree that it did not have to end like this, but it did.
I do not believe we will be promoted, and tbh I hope we don’t as we are miles away from being able to compete in the Prem.
Wokingham and stuwolf respect your choice. The one thing I would point out is that “nothing changes if nothing changes ” works both ways. Unless we as fans do something dramatically different to shake the management out of its taking our support for granted, why will they change anything in their approach to us? In reality, moxey and Morgan have had a pretty comfortable ride from wolves fans. Yes, a lot of comments on social media and a brief spat in a car park at Preston but in reality for all our passion in following wolves we are pretty ineffective in creating lasting change. The only reason Morgan has put the club up for sale is I believe because he has seen a convenient exit route, using that incident as a partial smokescreen. He has only ever worked to his own agenda ,as has moxey , and as fans I believe we need to try and take back some control of that agenda
Buddy,
I will support anything that gets rid of him believe me, I have no love or hate for the bloke but he’s doing our club no good what so ever so I don’t want him here.
I worked hard all my life and suffered at the hands of the greedy, power happy demigods that life throws at us, but he’s getting as little of my money as possible.
But I shall support anything you can come up with matey.
I actually met him going into Reading last year and he had his lower leg in plaster walking with a stick, I thought then, that he was probably trying to get in the disabled entrance on the cheap. 🙂
Sutton Coldfield,
Unfortunately, I’m beginning to think you are right.
The season Mr Moxey took
over we finished 12th in this league.Sixteen years later….a very fortunate man
If any of you like your horror films and fancy a Sunday scare then go to the Express and Star website and look at the ‘fan pictures’ article from the QPR game. Picture number 4 is of four Bedford Wolves – Tom Price, his dad Rhys ‘Lightning’ Price (so called as he is so slow at everything he even takes half an hour to decide which sholace to tie up first), Amy Griffin and her dad Peter Griffin (ex-Subway Army and slightly less cultured than his namesake on Family Guy). Picture 9 is of Paul & Sue, two more of the Bedford Mafia.
A fine looking bunch of Wufflers.
That’s their alibi sorted then.
Picture number 4 would make a great ‘Spot the ball’ competition.
“Where the F***?”
GOOD COACH… BAD COACH
An analysis of Kenny Jackett’s coaching input to the match.
GOOD COACH
He has at last told VLP that a winger runs fast at his full back and centres the ball.
Not before time, but at least he’s learned from his mistake.
BAD COACH
He has obviously not yet told the attackers that they should be in the middle to score from the centre. (Note to KJ – tell the attackers that they should….)
BAD COACH
I can’t understand it but he must have omitted to tell EBL to mark his man when a ball comes into the box. (Note to KJ – I really must tell…)
GOOD COACH
He must have told the side that even if we concede in the first two minutes, we don’t have to fall apart and give up. That is a very good thing, because they would not have known that otherwise.
All joking apart (who’s joking?) a well deserved point and a good summing up of the situation Rasmin.
On another point, as we hurtle headlong towards the closing of the transfer window – could be painful – and it seems that the result will be painful and not particularly fulfilling, we can assume that the powers that be at fortress Molineux have decided that the season is, for all intents and purposes, over.
It would be a shame for the players, who are still showing some fight, but it would be very interesting if all the fans decided the same thing and didn’t turn up to Molineux for the remaining home games.
I would love to see the look on Moxey’s face as he took his seat on the CEO’s throne and surveyed….
an empty ground.
After a poor start and poor first half we saw in the second half a much improved performance.
VLP was having a very good game. Coady, who was absent in the first half, was also making an impact.
I do feel though that Coady and Mac should swap positions. Mac is much more effective pushing forward rather than sitting deep in front of the defence.
All said and done a point was a fair result, though lady luck was looking after us with regards to the footballing side of things – the players injury list she is not.
It would not be a bad Idea for KJ and his team of expert scouts to look at bringing in Aiden McGeady on loan from Everton – he’s available and it appears that Everton would probably foot the bill, wages wise.
Stop being obtuse. They make a big bid for a player and it wasn’t accepted. They are trying to spend some of the money.
Who are ya…………..me thinks your Moxey in disguise……………are you Moxey in dis……..guise !
As we approach our NASA type countdown, (I believe there were 10 days until transfer deadline as of yesterday) we will be thinking of the ill fated Apollo 13. Went up with high expectations of reaching the moon, disaster took hold and only through the skill and individual performances of certain folk did they manage to guide the ship back to mother Earth and get it’s feet firmly on the ground.
After all the analysis had been completed did they discover that it was some faulty component that was built 10 or 15 years previous that caused all the trouble, it had laid there as a disaster waiting to happen for all that time. Everyone involved with this great mission had high hopes, reaching for the stars and beyond, millions wasted because of one rotten apple in the basket, powerless to do anything and could only sit and watch.
I dare say people were sacked and cheap under the counter contracts were cancelled as a result, but that didn’t detract from the fact that it was wholly preventable, cutting corners doing things on the cheap never works, look at your own lives and history proves me right, we get what we pay for.
Well we got Morgan, taking contracts on the cheap, cutting corners and no real idea WTF he was into. The disaster was there for all to see in Jez, why was there an open top bus and ticker tape parade when Moxey jumped ship from Stoke, he has middled along in his own sweet way, the by product of some chinese sweat shop in some back street of Shanghi ( such a startling resemblence to Charlie Chan, uncanny). Well, light the blue touch paper stand back and wait for it to implode not explode. You get what you pay for.
I remember getting an Apple iPhone lookalike charger from China, there was chinese writing all over the packaging. I should have known, it lasted about 30 minutes after I plugged it in. Deciphering the writing afterwards it read, only suitable for Wolves fans. Even the Chinese know about us (apparently, as no Chinese buyer will touch us with a barge pole).
So. I’m waiting for my Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon to save this ship of ours get us on the right trajectory and flight path back to safety, the Sky’s the limit or so Jez thinks, he won’t give a stuff if the grounds are empty as our Sky pays handsomely full or empty. So we are on day 9 now and have high hopes of a decent run in if we buy proper materials, get a good quality product and stop the rot.
I personally think we will buy someone, but then again I’m a few slates short of the full roof anyway. After the 9 days are up we shall discover where we are heading and there will be no hiding place if they Feck us over, by them I’m referring to Morgan & Moxey. Come on, 9 days to step up and be counted boys.
Always Old Gold & Black….
You forgot to mention me…………………..
Houston, we have a problem!!
You’re in there just read it again.
“disaster took hold and only through the skill and individual performances of certain folk did they manage to guide the ship back to mother Earth and get it’s feet firmly on the ground”.
How mushy am I ?
We have Chinese Tylers here , but we call them tyrers ,cos they ain’t quite the same !! But good point regarding moxey , sometimes when companies get taken over, amalgamate restructure there just has to be a change, it doesn’t even matter if you have the best Ceo or management in the world, there has to be change, to reinvigorate , shake up , or whatever corporate jargon you wish to use , it just isn’t healthy to keep the same guard year on year! If nothing else , it would give a lot of people a lift if moxey moved on , simples. And we can’t wait for the spineless board to do it lets be honest, and I include Robert plant in that , great performer I agree but come on board grow some balls ffs Ps stuwolf , hope you get at least another 20 years at your reduced entry rate mate , I’m sure you more than deserve it. Utw
You’d really think that Morgan with his undoubted success would see the overall here..ie the golden route ie: the £100M+ PL..status..
Then the ground asset and therefore his Club share value .I had it wrong re his divorce his has been divorced 2 years apparently so I can only assume he took the Preston incident very much to heart.
To raise say £20-£30M is peanuts to him -(or simple to bring in another invester) as that would easily take care of the 4/5 players that we need..
It’s the wage restraint that killer blows
us regarding new players and I am perplexed why he does not see this..
Moxey on the other hand is the salesman and a good one at that but in the current circumstances could end up as the ultimate fall guy.
Unless he comes up with a deal himself which is a possibility then limbo land .com for a while R us, as Chinese /American/ Arab investors
can’t seem to deal with Morgans criteria or valuation..
But..I personally think Morgan still has an affection for wolves and is feeling guilty.
We are certainly suffering in front of his very eyes..
Time will tell.
This season membership of the Money League guarantees you £140,000,000. Yes! That’s 14 Benik Afobe’s. Next season with the new TV deal kicking in it will be £180,000,000. So that’s 514 Michal Zyro’s. Or 180,000,000 Rajiv Van La Parra’s! Yesterday at QPR our starting line up cost £3.5m which in this day and age is non-league spending and 7 of the starting 11 cost nothing at all. As you say surely anyone with an even an ounce of vision or ambition would think it worth spending £15m or £20m to try and get there? Seemed to work OK for Bournemouth. And plenty of others like Stoke, Swansea, Southampton, West Ham etc all of whom were behind us when Toxic Moxey joined us and are now, quite literally, in a different league. Problem is neither Morgan (replace the ‘ga’ with an ‘o’) nor Toxic have any vision or ambition.
I didn’t know that regards just how much promotion is now worth..even more mystifying ..a huge return on investment..
Morgan’s a clever man ..safe perhaps
but all bought players are saleable.. .. Afobe’s living proof..
The wage cap has shot us in the foot
but even that can have a clause in to cover the club..
I didn’t expect much when the game kicked off and two minutes later I expected considerably less. But hey, after a mind-numbing first half, we seemed to really turn it on in the second and overall would have been worthy winners. The officials gave us nothing, especially the handball penalty incident.
As has been said, RVLP was awesome. How long can it last?
Much criticism of Le Fondre on here but high crosses and long punts upfield to a 2ft 6in striker ain’t exactly great tactics and I don’t blame ALF for that.
When it became apparent, quite early on actually, that Henry was having one of his off days, we should definitely have seen Byrne doing his thing. Complete waste to leave him sat, twiddling his thumbs, on the bench.
With Zyro, Siggy and Hause hopefully soon to return, all is not lost yet this season.
As long as you’re not looking for promotion.
You have ALFs height wrong mate ……. I am sure he is not taller than me.
37 points from 18 games probably required. Or 13 wins. Not realistic but stranger things have happened. Drinking around Hammersmith at 9.45 yesterday. Spoons to start then the Hammersmith Ram and the Swan. Few in chiswick and marylebone after. Good day. Good display from the lads. But not sure Iiked getting out of bed at 4.30am!
Great point road our luck but if any set of supporters deserve a bit of luck it’s ours great away support singing all the way through, that what get me about Morgan and the other wankers ruining our club ordinary men and women get up the crack of dawn ( no jokes please Cive I’m trying to be serious ) spent a good proportion of there hard earned cash on there beloved Wolves.
You and the wankers on the board with all your wealth never will come close to the commitment love and devotion theses supporters show week in week out, year in year out, generation after generation.
I agree re: Robert Plant and Bully mouth pieces for Morgan.
We arent going to ‘sign players for the sake of it’. Golbourne hasnt been in the team for a few weeks so he is probably on his way. As for boycotting the early bird season ticket sales will be well down anyway if we carry on lke this.
I can’t understand why Golbourne has not been starting – he’s a class act.
Me neither JHP – he can be a little lightweight in a physical game and I don’t think he gets forward as much as he used to (probably ‘cos Sako has left). Also the wingers tend not to track back and support the full backs when the opposition counter attack.
Scotty is still improving in my book!
I prefer Doherty at right back where he can get forward and cross the ball without cutting in on his right foot (ignore that 35 yard screamer last week = lol!).
I would like Kenny to play Doherty in his proper position and give Dominic a half a dozen games at CB (isn’t that his proper position too?) – but that won’t happen will it?
Gutting news re Duracell Dave and Zyro!
UTW!
Agree bags of experience that’s what we need right now…!
We’re not going to be panicked into buying………
Edwards out for 12 weeks
Zyro out for 6 weeks
Watch this Feckin space………
🙁
With Byrne, Jed Wallace, Bright, Golbourne, Saville Rowwe, and of course, Jack Price, we can still just about put a team out ! Do we need a striker ? Well, we could bring McAlinden back ? See, no need for any panic buying.
Thats a relief and we were all getting worried we might buy a striker !
Bring in the U21s ..if we have a crisis (and we do)..if we can’t buy lets bring some in..
Stu’s got the list no doubt starting with Conner Ronan..
I got two grandsons, 7 and 4
Will they do?
Strange names for young lads.
How old are they?
Outrageously brilliant.
Chuckle brothers eat your heart out.
🙂 🙂
Well I met one so he must have others.
To be honest I can’t see Moxey going for it Clive, I’m certain Nan will want them home for their dinner every day.
You must remember this is Texas, and strange names are the norm here.
And Norm is here, with all his wisdom!!
Their names are Kade and Blake, so I prefer 7 and 4.
Nice to see photographs of the “Bedford Wolves Firm” feature so prominently on the Express and Star Wolves page. With an average age nearing 50 maybe a different description would be more suitable…..suggestions please! Anyway 14 of us clambered aboard the mini bus at 9.10 and at 10.30 we disembarked in Uxbridge right into the local Weatherspoons. The Guinness just hit the spot – methinks we have a problem enjoying alcohol at that unearthly hour.
Considering the kick off time and the game was on Sky I thought the turnout of Wolves fans was remarkable.
From our vantage point in the worst “away end” in the Northern Hemisphere (except Rochdale in 1987 when we stood in the gents bog for the second half leaning on the wall under the floodlights), I missed their goal. We were still trying to get sorted with seats and letting latecomers through. So I ain’t got a clue what happened folks! Can the footballing authorities please ban QPR from playing at Loftus Road until the club can provide decent seats where the pitch can actually be viewed, decent space underneath, decent catering facilities and decent sanitation in the toilets and oh yes even a decent number of toilets. This is 2016 not 1956!!!After my last trip to this West London hell hole I vowed never to go again. Just proves what a liar I am………
Well the match has been more than adequately covered elsewhere in the blog but four factors struck me..
1. Why did we play two right footed players (Doherty and Henry) out and out on the left? One (Doherty) OK needs must as the devil etc but when we attacked down the left – particularly in the first half – Henry had to stop and check and put the ball onto his right foot and the momentum was gone!
I would have chucked Scott Goldbourne out wide left, quick and can beat a man, and he can cross on the run which is surely an advantage for Gods sake. Henry only crossed once with his left and it strayed way beyond the far post.
2. Why do professional footballers have a “weak foot” in any case? Every single pro should be equally adept with both feet – or at least have a modicum of ability with his “weaker” foot.
Surely every afternoon instead of playing snooker or golf or propping up the bar or shagging grandmothers or whatever they do after training, 2 or 3 hours spend controlling, shooting, crossing and so on with their weaker limb would pay huge dividends. Get on it Jackett and the rest of our coaching staff. Give each player who uses one leg for standing on 12 months to bring the other foot up to a pre set standard – you know such as passing to a gold shirt successfully from 10 yards would be a start. (Mind you I do accept some of them cannot even do that with their favoured foot).
3. A fellow Bedford Wolf and I decided to count the number of times we lumped the ball into the clouds for Le Fondre (one of the smallest forwards in league football) to try and win. Just after 1 o’clock with 31 minutes or so gone we had reached 16 occasions. On 14 of these the QPR defenders easily won the “duel” and on the other two Le Fondre managed to head the ball back whence it came. Great eh! We gave up after this partly because we were running out of fingers to keep count. No blame can be attached to Le Fondre – just what was he supposed to do? McDonalds body language said it all as the midfield hardly got a look in. Phillips looked pretty good for QPR – you can see why he has attracted a lot of interest.
4. The second half was in complete contrast to the drab and dreary first. McDonald was coming deep to receive the ball and try and play it out along the ground, through the channels and wide when necessary especially to VLP who quite rightly won MOM. We stopped that ridiculous humping forward at every opportunity and tried to play a game called football. At times we looked pretty good and effective. Henry (The QPR one) drifted over to their left to try and counter VLP who was running the show and skinning Konchesky but overall he was ineffective and was substituted. In one purple patch Doherty forced a good save from the keeper with a rising drive and then an Edwards header brought an even better save. Urged on by the 1,500 or so hardy fans Wolves pressed for a second.
We could and should have clinched all three points but then rode our luck with time running out when they clouted the woodwork with the goal gaping. That WAS a let off. Still a point is a point is a point as they say. Q to Jackett – why didn’t we play like that in the first 45?
Stuck on the A40 West Way afterwards we listened to the garbage from Old Trafford on Radio 5 Live. It took 75 minutes to cover the 12 miles to Uxbridge – bloody madness. (Yes I know maybe we should have taken the tube).
However the food was good when we eventually reached our pre-booked meal in Clophill about an hour late and we had a jolly good sing song afterwards to some 60’s classics with throats lubricated by pints and vino.
All in all another good day out for the Bedford “Firm”. Thank you Eamonn for driving and putting up with the nonsense on board and also to Sue for winning the quiz which I set beforehand. 31/40 was an excellent score – mind you quite a few scored 29’s and we also had one 30.
Notlob at home next up. A “bogey” team if ever there was one.
Oh – just been announced Edwards is out for 12 weeks. It goes from worse to ludicrous..
Have a great week fellow Wolves supporters

Apparently we’ve bid…
He scored a hat trick on Saturday.
With Clive’s two little numbers we’re almost there.
As I’ve already blogged the sooner this season is over the better mid table would be like winning the league after everything that’s gone on.
But and it’s a big BUT never mind not buying in the window I carnt see Morgan splashing out in the summer either because of all the players coming back from injury, to quote Moxey and Jacketts favourite saying ” there like new signings ” those returning from injury that is…….mark my words I carnt see anyone of any calibre arriving either now or in the summer !
WHAT IS GOING ON AT MOLINEUX?
“Wolves snap up highly rated teenager Hakeem Odofin from Barnet for £100,000
Hakeem Odofin has moved to Championship Wolves from Barnet
Wolves are trying to identify and sign the best young players in the lower leagues
Odofin has only made two appearances for the Bees this season”

I was dreading listening to the radio at 5pm for the soccer results on Saturday, driving back from Sheffield having spent most of the afternoon setting up for a wedding show on Sunday. I was really pleased with a 1-1 draw at QPR, actually predicted a 0-0, but really thought we would get hammered.
Then I read the report on the express & star website, and it seems we were close at times to getting the 3 points. Just shows that most of the Championship is shite, only the top maybe 5 or 6 are any good.
It is a scandal or will be if we don`t buy at least 2 players who would play first team before the window closes, and not for our under 5s. Maybe we will get midtabled this season, and hope for new owners next. For myself, as others have said they will do, I`m renewing my early bird whatever happens, because I`ll get it at the 65 age price, and I can please myself if I don`t bother to go to the matches. Like many of my fellow wolves fans, its in my blood and I`ll be there come rain or shine. My boss supports Bolton, so I`ve got to see us thrash them, so I can text him the score as I leave the ground. Happy days.
Met up with a couple of my qpr mates before the game on Saturday . We had some great football banter as we always do . Years I ve met up with the same lads , this match the laugh was we were going to change the club mottos on the badges … Wolves was no longer going to be ‘ out of darkness cometh light ‘ and was going to be ‘ expect nothing and nothing will disappoint ‘ and above qprs famous badge would read ‘ shit but local ! ‘ … Yes having a nice time .. Two pints bumped into ‘ showcase ‘ and stu wolf ‘
Considering what sky had done the kickoff time it was good .
Left the pub about 10 past walked to the ground .. Still having the banter then said goodbye to my mates , “enjoy the game ”
Then the stewards / police took my ticket off me . Said I was drunk refused me entryand that the ticket that I’d paid £37 was not mine and was the property of the club . …
QPR STEWARDS …IVE SHIT BETTER THINGS
I was enjoying your little tale loyal, until I got to the end. It’s un-effin’-believable. Are they really allowed to do that??? Would they have done it if you’d been wearing the hoops?
I’m completely speechless.
I know .. I looked at the opposition a copper no older than my eldest . A Muslim steward who kept telling me that I should have controlled my drinking ( I drove to Ealing Common ) .. I boxed at regional level for a couple of clubs in my area here so I ve always loved a tear up . Then I looked at all the cctv in the street .
Although, in hindsight maybe a banning order might help me save me a few quid !
What a bunch of tossers they are, you left 8 minutes after me and Steve showcase, WTF did you consume in that 8 minutes to make them say that .
We wolfed down a chicken & mushroom pie from the chippie, I suppose when they saw that they probably thought if we can eat that shite then we can hold our beer.
Bloody hell mate, your’e going to have to stop hanging about with QPR fans.
Put it down to experience, “bad experience”
Are they refunding your money the prat’s?
Gob smacked
Oops , ignore that .
London – Matt… I was thinking when I met you on the day ..that’s one bloke who can definately hold his beer..
You shouldn’t of breathed on the bloke mate..
..just jesting…what a piss off..
Fuck me showcase .. That would have been the ultimate compliment years ago . Funny how we all grow up eventually eh ?
Pity it didn’t happen here.
With the new open carry law they wouldn’t have messed with you, and if they did, you could have blown them away with impunity, and then claimed they were trying to rob you.
Their word against yours, and if they are no more………………..
Next time you go take a naked woman with you, and some pork baps.
Muslims aint supposed to look upon one, nor eat the other.
Or is it look at the bap and eat the woman??
Anyway, you get my drift.
FOwb and QPRS
Trust me Clive .. I’ve thought about nothing else .. Even thought about paying them a visit amongst the Ipswich fans ( same weekend we ve got reading . But London wolves are having their annual drink with the players ) .. But the one thing that’s really bothering me ………is how the fuck are you above me in the prediction league when you say 5 v1 wolves every fucking week ! ?
Good looks, clean living, modesty….you name it I got it in spades!!!
Oh yeh !! Thought so
Would you like me to send you a diagram showing where you went wrong?
Ok Bedford .. That is funny ..
I should maybe join up with your old firm.. We could pass round the old inhaler then kick off … Lol
Isnt it a bit late for you two old farts to be up?
And so the nightmare continues.
After storming to the 3rd Division title, with the fans back onside and momentum gathering for a swift return to the Money League we,…………………did nothing. The powers that be decided we didn’t need to spend any cash or strengthen the squad. No sir-ee. Hell there can’t be any difference between the 3rd and 2nd Divisions surely? So we struggled on. By November the foolishness came home to roost as our waffer thin squad was bereft of any strikers so much so that we had to bring in some African geezer (Sag Aloo?) and even Jordan Graham’s grandad on loan who had all the mobility of a concrete support on the M25 and the turning circle of the Titanic. After amassing a grand total of zero goals – that’s ZERO goals – between them (actually I’m being unkind as neither of them managed a shot on target so of course they wouldn’t score any goals) we looked like we had finally learned a lesson and spent £2m on Afobe.
The second half of the season we charged up the table with the triumvirate of Dicko, Afobe & Sako (they’re magic, you know) on fire. Sadly we were playing catch up by then and missed out by a whisker. Never mind onwards and upwards eh?
So we let Sako leave for nothing and didn’t bother replacing him. We spent another handful of peanuts n new players – remember all them great Summer signings? No? – and then sold our only experienced defender and the previous season’s player of the season to a rival. And didn’t bother replacing him.
We then lost Dicko to a season ending injury. We brought in Grant Holt who made Sag Aloo and Jordan Graham’s grandad look like Nijinsky and Linford Christie respectively. So we didn’t bother playing him. We booted out our number 1 keeper and brought in Arsenal’s fourth choice keeper. We also lost Kortney Hause (Stearman’s ‘replacement’) to injury.
Then we sold Afobe despite saying we wouldn’t but I guess when the mighty Bournemouth come calling its bound to turn an ambitious young man’s head eh? But we now had £10m to spend and strengthen. Almost 3 weeks later we still have £10m to spend and strengthen. On current interest rates its actually grown to around £10.1m by now so well done Jez!
We walked away from Mike Williamson as we couldn’t afford his wages – come on now it would have taken a healthy wghack out of that £10.1m after all!
We then lost Jordan Graham to injury for 9-12 months.
We then lost Zyro for 6 weeks (though with Tony Daley at the helm what’s the bettingvhes out for 6 months?) and Dave Edwards for 12 weeks.
But no matter as the powers that be are busying tthemselves signing so far an 18 year striker from Newport and a 17 year old full back from Barnet. Exactly what need eh lads? They are both highly rated and scheduled to hit the first team around March. March 2021 that is. Then they’ll be sold in June 2021 for a profit, sorry I meant for footballing reasons.
Meanwhile while Rome burns Moron and Toxic keep fiddling. The books, the accounts, the spin, their bank balances.
So here’s a new game to play. Can anyone come up with 18 names of Wolves players for the Notlob game? Young kids who’ve not played or started acgame don’t count. Moreover can anyone remember a time since the Dark days of 1985+ when our first team squad has been so threadbare and so uninspiring?
We hear that Steve Moron has rediscovered his love of Wolves and will be investing money in the team. By my reckoning he now has 5 days left to do something. And fiddling whilst we burn doesn’t count!
Unfortunately, that seems like a very accurate re-telling of our recent history.
It has to be true. You couldn’t make it up.
Excellent Bedford, I’d have given you more than one like for that if I could. Spot on.
I’ve done two things in the last month that I’ve never done in 50 odd years of supporting Wolves.
Forgot they were playing once until I saw the result the next day.
Went off and did something else during the last televised game.
I never thought the day would come when I’d do either of those things but thetre’s only so long you can be taken for a mug. I’m on a sabattical until there’s a new regime at a once great club.
Excellent description of where we are.
ha ha ha love it Dave spot on – unfortunately its all very true!
As you say this time 12 months ago with Sako, Dicko and Afobe firing on all cylinders we were looking good – what a difference a year makes eh!
I will be in touch regarding the upcoming fixtures – some talk of a trip “up Norf” with the mini bus. (Brand new bus by the way – all mod cons!).
Maybe Huddersfield on 20th February – beforehand we could eat at the Three Acres, atop the Pennines near the Emley Moor TV mast just outside Huddersfield. It is a smashing place to visit and last time I was scoffing at this establishment the food was simply wonderful. Chuck in some decent local ales reasonably priced and here we have the recipe for a bloody good lunchtime!
If we depart Bedford about 8.45 we should arrive about 12.00.
Give it some thought – I will circulate the others.
Well said mate.
Verily thou art the Bed of Bardfordshire.
Or worms to that effect.
Bedford,
Brilliant summary of how far Morgan and Moxey have dragged our wonderful club into the mire!
Early Bird anyone?
COYW!
Excellent, excellent post!
Morgan is rediscovering his love of wolves!!! Just as we sell afobe for 10 million!! What a coincidence!
Brilliant post Bedford !!
That’s how we all feel all the time !….except jez and Steve that is
I`m sure Morgan was at the Cardiff game to see what other players he may be able to sell.
The £10m fee for our ex goal scoring hero now scoring for fun in the premiership will be used to fund the club in the absence of parachute payments next season, and/or maybe Morgan`s price to sell has gone down by £10m, either way there`s not much hope of any player purchases. Oh to be wrong eh!
Its interesting to read other bloggers extoling Van Para for his efforts on Saturday, nor is it surprising that Huddersfield want to buy him. His performance in that 4-1 win away last season was exceptional. Pity he is not consistent enough, but KJ wants players with pace so to even consider selling him at the moment is a joke, or is he under orders to unload where he can?
He was of course signed on a free transfer, and is very inconsistent, but on his day in the championship he is untouchable. If he goes maybe Byrne gets to play.
Next season with Dicko, the ex villa lad all due back, will “be like new signings”, so no need to buy anybody then. Lets just hope we keep accumulating points to avoid any relegation worries.
With heartfelt apologies to my late hero David Bowie………
Pushing through the Molineux,
So many fans were crying,
News had just come over,
We had five days left to buy in,
News guy wept and told us,
The Wolves were really dying,
We’ve got five days, stuck on my eyes,
We’ve got five days, what a surprise,
We’ve got five days, my brain hurt a lot,
We’ve got five days, that’s all we’ve got!
I have just offered up a prayer to the football god for Dave Edwards and his rapid recovery.
Not on behalf of Wolverhampton Wanderers, coz I think he is crap, but on behalf of England.
If he gets “fit” in time for the Euros, then its a given he will be in the Welsh squad, which can only benefit their opponents!
Fowb
We should form an alliance with Charlton Athletic. “Back the team. Not the regime”. No programmes. No refreshments. No fuck all.
Are we being black listed by potential players that would only be paid peanuts.?.
Is Thellwell and co so overworked placing multi offers that it’s all going to happen only at the end of the week?
Are we just happy to stick on what we have got and hang out the season?
Are we only waiting for loan players ?
Is the money going into the bank to offset para payments?
Is the money being used as part of a club value reduction ?
Are we all just being shafted as fans?
#nothingshappening we need a striker and a HB desperately….
Yes,No,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes (sounds like the ex).
Astutely put..lol
I don’t understand why anyone is surprised we are not buying anyone.
I will be surprised if anyone is bought, as I said at the beginning of the transfer window.
Lastest from Jackett in E&S ” wages demands to high ” as anyone told Morgan the Goverment has increased the minimum wage to £7.20 an hour, Morgans has to pay it.
Joking apart I knew this excuse would be trotted out with under a week left of the window the next excuse will be out in a couple more days ” we tryed really hard to get players in but for what ever reason ( not willing to pay the going rate, not excessive wages just the going rate ) it just didn’t happen ” ever heard the saying Kenny ” you pay penuts you get monkeys ”
I suggest seasons ticket holders when the Early Bird comes out reply to Moxey ” I’ve tryed everthing but for what ever reason ( being ripped off, fed bull shit year after year false promises taken for granted ) I could not renew “
Potential bid for Mason from Cardiff.
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2016/01/27/january-transfer-window-wolves-move-for-striker-joe-mason/
Any bets it fails on personal terms?
Like the idea of not spending on merchandise/refreshments etc. Only way to get through to this regime is through their wallets.
On Wolves own website now. We’ve made a substantial bid for him.
Just wages to discuss now.
Oh dear….
Hi to all you bloggers Worldwide.
I have been asked by Wolves FC to participate in Sky TV’s presenter Jeff Stelling’s “Men United’s Walk” for Prostrate Cancer on 26th March 2016. This was due in part to my successful Cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats last July, which through your help raised a fantastic sum of money on behalf of the “Wolves Disabled Supporters Association” (Wolves DSA) As there is only myself and two others participating I am proud to have been asked and shall obviously take part.
Sky presenter Jeff Stelling is walking from Hartlepool to Wembley, calling at every ground possible en route , myself and two others from the club have been asked to walk the Wolves to Birmingham part with Jeff Stelling. We are calling at Albion, Blues and Villa as part of the 26.2 miles walk. Jeff Stelling is raising awareness and funds for Prostrate Cancer which a huge problem for men. So I’m asking all you terrific Guys and Girls out there on wonderful blog to help me, I want to raise funds and believe anything you can give will make such a difference.
You are all well aware there are many forms of Cancer and during the last 12 Months sadly we have lost a blogger and also a loved one to one kind of Cancer or another. Sadly, a few of our bloggers are also going through what can only be described as the worst time of their lives due to a cancer and are awaiting positive outcomes. We pray that they make successful and speedy recoveries but this only highlights the importance of Jeff’s, Wolves and my efforts to eradicate this terrible disease.
Cancer strikes most families during your lifetime, (I lost my mother when she was 59 years old), so I make no apology for mentioning our bloggers as I know them all well and I am sure they will welcome anything that will prevent this happening to anyone else in the future.
Due to the fact that I have more time and Jeff Stelling has set up a website with a registered charity, I have set up a justgiving page where anyone can go on a donate in person or anonymously should you choose. All you have to do is click the link below and press the donate button and follow the easy steps and donate any sum you are comfortable with. I will be delighted with anything large or small as it WILL make a difference. We can also claim gift aid which means the tax man will also contribute if you tick that box and you are a tax payer.
So this is the link…..
https://www.justgiving.com/Stuart-Alves.
Bloggers,
I thank you in anticipation and in the knowledge of how generous you guys were last year, this is a cause I am Proud to be part of and can assure you that No money will go through the Wolves FC and all donated goes to Jeff Stelling’s Prostrate Cancer Charity. Please get behind me with this one as well as you did last year and we can stick two fingers up to Prostrate Cancer.
In the words of CFH.
FOpc
The only thing wrong with following the above link to Just Giving is that when it opens, there is a picture of Stuwolf !!
The following comment is sure to attract lots of piss taking, but I can take it,
I recently had a camera up my arse, and the feeling of relief (!) afterwards, when the results came back cancer free was immense.
This is a cause, as Stu says, close to our hearts coz it strikes anyone, anytime, anywhere.
The more that can be raised, the sooner a cure can be found.
The issues at The Mol pale into insignificance compared to being struck with cancer, so good luck to you, Stuwolf, lets raise a shit load, no matter who walketh beside you!!!

Sutton Coldfield wolf
Thank you, thank you Thank you.
Hope you don’t want it back now there’s movement on the transfer front.
Clive,
I know you love me.
Why else would you hide naked in my wifes bedroom wardrobe ready to surprise me when I come home early off nights.:-)
Thank you buddyxxx
I thought I’d try and draw 2 themes together. I’m boycotting wolves early bird but if I wasn’t boycotting it I reckon I would save at least £50 for me and my lads season ticket. To that end you should have the £50 I won’t be saving. It makes no financial sense whatsoever but yours is a fantastic cause and being the financial gimp of Morgan and moxey isn’t. Hopefully the donation has now registered on your just giving page. Fellow wolves fans ” balls to wolves early bird, beat prostrate cancer instead” ?
Sutton Coldfield wolf.
Thank you, thank you Thank you.
Hope you don’t want it back now there’s movement on the transfer front.
No worries. The “movement” on the transfer front comes from Moxey’s bowels at the thought of actually signing someone over the age of 21 and costing more than his weekly food bill 🙂
Bloody hell pal you are a glutton for punishment. First you have a saddle up your Arse from Lands End to John O’Groats and now you are walking to the home of The Shadow Dwellers? Make sure you spit on the floor when you get there. Also can you ask Jeff Selling how it feels to be the frontman for an organisation that has single handedly done more to ruin the once wonderful sport of football than anything or anyone else please?
Donation tomorrow when I am awake again!
3 million for joe mason ?
4 goals in 24 ?
I hope he turns us down on the wages .. No better that le fondu !
Don’t worry London the deals going to fall through at the last minute, due to ” both party’s fail to agree on personnel terms ” ie the bloke wants more than £20 a week and a 1 minute trolley dash in POUNDLAND…..!
Looks like williamsons coming tho …. Good news at last !
Solid
Jez strikes again ! The man knows how to cut a deal(as we’ve always said on here.
Oops … Williamson
Capitalisation is important …
As some one one pointed out … That they d had to help their uncle Jack off a horse !
Sally and Jack both worked at the same company.
Their boss was in a dilemma as to which of them he should fire.
He called Sally into his office and said
” I don’t know whether to lay you or Jack off”
She said
“You better jack off, I’ve got a headache”
Mason playing silly buggers.
Tom Bradshaw due at Wolves in the morning for talks.
He’s the better of the two options.
🙂
I like the idea of him as well . Never seen him play but listened to a radio interview with him after a long drive back from wolves , way before he was linked with wolves , and really liked his outlook on both football and what he looked for in a coach / manager.
Good attitude
Jason Cummings from Hibs? Thought him and Conor Washington were the pick of the strikers we were supposedly linked with. Like you am not over the Moon about Mason. Zach Clough of Notlob should be cheap.
Totally off topic.
Football quiz #452
Which player holds the record for the fastest goal scored in a European club competition?
Name the player, for whom he played, who the opposition was, and how long it took him to score.
Stuwolf, you cannot answer.

Steve Daley v Ferencvaros 1971/72 UEFA Cup semi final 2nd leg. Do I win a prize? A trip to Houston? 2nd prize 2 trips to Houston?
No prize, you didn’t answer the full question.
It was in the first minute.
So, no trips to Paradise to see me.
It’s an ‘I was there’ moment.
Stood in the enclosure just in front of where McGarry sat.
He didn’t actually smile but the bad smell that seemed to be permanently under his nose cleared for a while and, for a brief moment, he stopped frowning.
And my research team tells me that it was the third game in a row that a goal was scored in the first minute at Molineux.
Playing for Wolves of course! 18 seconds, 19 April 1972. It was a dark night.
If you re excluding stu . Then it’s probably Waggy … My guesswork / attempt at cheating is Hugh Curran … Texico cup v Hibs
Steve Daley is my Grandson’s Godfather, hence me excluded.
🙂
Colin & Bardwolf.
Many thanks Guys, wonderful cause supported by wonderful people like you guys.
StuWolf
Thats for all the fantastic insights we get from the Mol.
What a relief Clive style that Williamson looks to be one of us soon – even I’m confident it’s going to happen.
I age very quickly closing my eyes regarding our defence and I can soon stop taking those pills for paranoia ..
I personally believe it could save DBs career as he’s a local lad but you never know…EBLs still in favour even though he’s colour blind..
New Captain?
I’m also obviously with you Stu re your walk ..I can beat your story Clive I have had a camara down my #*#* four times to check my bladder (and prostrate )..
It is a truly wonderful experience indeed ..brings tear’s to my eyes at the thought again..
So my good wishes are with any blogger who is involved with such a subject..
No doubt you’ll raise shit loads..
“I was really enjoying myself, it is a great club, players are very good – a real togetherness, and I like the manager who was fantastic – to work with him and learn from him.”
Mike Williamson, speaking about his loan spell at Wolves.
Hmmm! I wonder who he’s talking about?
Can’t be KJ ‘cos he’s crap!
Of course he’s fantastic he’s making him Captain..
There is a God after all, to think some people on this blog ever doubted him. Shame on you lot.
Williamson
Mason
Bradshaw
Rico
Never had a moments doubt king Kenny would sort it out.
Oops watch your step there……
Mind the Bullshit
Doogooder.
Thank you kind Sir for your generous donation towards the Prostrate Cancer Walk, your kindness and Beauty is only surpassed by the PMDG’s personal charm and beauty.
😉
Bristol City to Wolves,
Beam me up Scotty. WTF he’s been a great servant and it’s not like we’ve got shed loads of defenders. There’s also talk of RVLP going to Huddersfield, would not surprise me at all.
If we get Mason and Bradshaw, Scotty and RVLP would finance that deal Morgans, £10 million, safe as his houses.
Simples peeps.
🙁
Hello Bloggers.
Two important messages that may be of interest to anyone out there.
1, I have been invited to the End of Season Dinner at Telford Arena on to the DSA Table, over 800 people attend and it is always sold out no matter how poorly the team are doing, by all accounts a brilliant but pricey night, but what the heck we’re only this way once.
I have been told that the DSA now have two tables due to the demand and they have two spare seats open to anyone on a first come basis. so if anyone wants to go to the end of season party then please contact me ASAP. three course meal, drinks, and all the Wolves teams there and available for £90 each plus vat. (not the players)
2, In an effort to give the DSA more profile, they are putting on coaches to certain games, these coaches can accommodate so many Wheelchairs and then semi disabled guys and girls have seats, due to the fact the coach leaves form Wolves there are always going to be spare seats. anyone travelling or showing an interest would only have to make a one off payment of £5 which is like a membership, then all future coach travel to away games would be £5 per person. Even at those crazy prices, you are helping the DSA with your fare.
The first one is the Reading game, so anyone interested in leaving your car or saving train fare or even coming on the same coaches as Wolves travel, your price for Reading would be £10 which is greatly reduced and a good saving. after that, if you travel with us again in the future it is only ever going to cost you around £5.
Anyone interested in the End of Season dinner or travelling to reading with the DSA coach.

Goldbourne out? Thought we were short on defenders, oh yeah we got Williamson in so that works out right?
Btw Goldbourne was a very decent footballing left back. I don’t think he did anything wrong.200g for Williamson out going, 300g for Goldbourne coming in. Sounds like a tidy bit of business. Nice one Steve.
Carnt believe Jeff has gone, Goldbourne our best left back another one isolated and pushed out the exit door.
It’s as if Morgans saying you can have him but you’ve got to get rid of him, childish imuture and risky if Willianson gets injured then we are in the mire again echoes of Stearman Gate.
The people ruining this club and I include Jackettt are pathetic absolutly pathetic, short sited and down right frauds.
I’m a bit perplexed with the selling of Goldbourn, but not surprised.
I think they had a falling out again, even though
,he was our most experienced left back.as said they’re making a bit with the deal with Williamson.
KJ and poxey I think are messing with it again.Hope he doesn’t too this one too.
If we sign Mason I hope we get a striker to play along side him.
Optimistic but I won’t hold my breath.
Rue this one too. I should have wrote……..
It says the Williamson deal is ‘imminent.’
If he signs and keeps fit should guarantee another year in the Championship.
Joe Mason? – Not so sure….
Mason has signed and gets the No 40 shirt. Let’s hope he’s as god as Dicko
🙂
Soz
Good as, but God sounds as good
I hope he’s God good….as they say in Gornal
We have signed God ? How long before Kenny sends him out on loan.
Sky are saying we’ve signed Williamson too, official wolves haven’t caught up yet.
Funny how neither the Williamson or the Mason signings have been confirmed by wolves
I ve never been the biggest Goldbourn fan in this league and I could never put my finger on why , he was always a good footballer , especially in div 1 , but in this division we ve seemed to concede goals when he s been in the team . Good luck to him though . Always seemed to be glad to wear the shirt !
I think we need a Bournemouth loan forward
A Sheff Wed Midfielder
A Southen Goalie with Mcarey going the other way.
Just thinking out loud
Mason has signed hardly prolific carnt help feeling like we were late for the January sales and just brought for the sake of buying………………to be convinced
Some signings at long last got to be good news. With some of the chopping and changing we saw earlier in the season i have never really bought into the wafer thin squad theory but we do still lack an out and out centre forward. Mason will probably replace Edwards ? Williamson should be a steadying influence in defence. Makes the next few weeks more interesting at least.
Wolves have just signed that 17 year old zhakeem Odofin from Barnet for U21s.
They’re making head way, is this a pre cursor for new owners???
Hakeem Odofin, bleeding predictive rubbish.
Haven’t blogged much lately because I’ve just felt so uninspired (cue great Traffic number) for much of the season and there’s been much doom and gloom on here. The signings so far look very promising and with all the work around the development and Under-21 squads, maybe we really are building for a better future, balanced at last with a bit of Williamson experience. I’ve just finished reading Ted Farmer’s book, ‘The Heartbreak Game’ which really evokes the greatness of the club in the long lost past, how abysmally he was treated by the great icon Stan Cullis, and how so much was buildt on fantastic player development – though there were about 8 teams in different leagues at that time, giving a real progression path and all of them winning for most of the time! The pride he and others felt in playing for Wolves was quite clear – can it ever be recaptured in the modern age??
Actually , peak wolf .. Surprisingly , I suddenly find myself feeling a little more optimistic about the future , not because of the amount of transfer activity that our supposed out going owner has allowed to happen but the way in which our clubs grade 1 academy and facilities immediatly seal the deal for up and coming talent . There will be a lot of talent either nurtured or grown and developed from that investment . As much as I am a critic of Steve Morgan ,I must admit , he got that one right !
I’m Made up regards Williamson (hope he can play next match ) Mason needs that other striker..433 with Zyro …
At least we are in action..
Late run R us perhaps …
I wonder how old Steve Bull’s son is now, if indeed he has one!
He has at least two sons by his first wife. I’ll ask him how old they are and if he has any more when he comes to my son’s wedding in August.
Would that be a pair of bullocks ?
As The Crickets once sung “Cattle Be The Day”.
And ask him why the feck they are not playing football for us too mate ………… lol
Brompto
The answer is probably!!
Team v Notlob? What KJ will do I think.
Ikeme
Iorfa. Batth. Williamson. Doherty
Coady. McDonald
VLP. Mason. Henry
Le Fondre
Personally I’d prefer ;
Ikeme
Iorfa. EEL. Williamson. Doherty
Coady. McDonald
Byrne. Enobakhare. VLP
Mason
So in other words I’d keep EEL over Batth and play Byrne and Enobakhare instead of Henry and ALF.
We need another striker – Cummings from Hibs? Clough from Notlob? A left back would be good too even though Doherty has done well there.
II would not disagree with either team, KJ has stated we are in for another striker, after the last 24 hours I am optimistic on his honesty.
I also think Batth should stand down and Williamson be given the mantle of captain.
Dave, a heartfelt thanks for your wonderful donation to Prostate Cancer.
In 48 hours I have reached the target set by Prostate Cancer UK to achieve as a minimum.
The folk on this blog are truly wonderful people.
🙂 🙂 🙂
Mr Bedford Sir…
Have I missed something .?.
When we were at Rangers recently I must say due to EELs presumed colour blindness (as much as he is becoming a fair ‘stopper’ ) did you notice when the ball was at his feet all he did was hack it into touch as apposed to passing it to one of us.?
(Although better than giving it back)
He simply hasn’t learnt how to do that yet ..truly..
We can’t train him to distribute evidently and he gets led out of position ..so he needs loaning out so somebody else can teach him.!
The point is Williamson could well save DBs Wolves career which is degenerating into pushes
and big boots upfield .
IMO he could be a great captain ..DB can learn a lot from him …conclusively we have someone now who is vocal and can manage players on the field.
K-Mac does this to some extent but Williamson now must be favourite to take the arm band.
Williamson is pure class with experience and if anything has made my season the fact that he’s back to prevent us from conceding…
In defence of EEL at Charlton he was our best player by a mile, he also was impressive at Brighton and at West Ham. Distribution not his strong point I agree wholeheartedly but DB’s ‘distribution’ seems to consist of either heading the ball straight to an opponent or pumping long hopeful balls upfield. I like DB and would love him to come good and as you say he could learn a lot off Williamson though Williamson’s distribution is not exactly his strong point either. Equally EEL could learn a lot off Williamson and I just think he has better raw assets than DB including being pacier.
Rumour reached me that Rotherham’s Johnson Clarke-Harris at £1m could be the second striker we are getting. Not prolific but lightning pace which KJ loves. The other name that has been mooted a lot is the extravagantly named Tokelo Rantie from Bournemouth
Oh Rantie, Rantie
Rantie, Rantie plays for Wanderers!!
London Loyal & Steve Showcase,
Thank you for your really generous donations to Prostate Cancer, I am so lucky to be part of this great blog site, you people are so supportive, this means a lot to so many people not only in the UK, but on this blog.

StuWolf
If I ever have a (doctors) finger up my a*** I’ll think of you Stu…
Ah Steve,
That’s so sweet and touching, I did study proctology for a while, so if ever your stuck and need some help, you know what I mean!.
I’m not an expert but I’d have a bloody good look at it for you.
🙂
My response is minimal..please can some one write a thread..
Stu – I reckon I missed the blog that started the finger up the jacksy threads, but it’s a cause dear to all our front and back ends, so is there a link for donations? I don’t Face off or twit so something more conventional?? Cheers.
Re my earlier post re Ted Farmer (29/1, 11.59am)…..any of your Wolves dynasty see him in his prime?
Peakwolf

PeakWolf.
You really need to talk with Bedford Old Gold ref Ted Farmer. He’s Jonny Pneumonic. And he WAS there
🙂
Bard wolf … I get it …. Wanky wanderers ! Clever that , I hope we sign him just for that reason
Brompton.
Steve, thank you for that generous donation it is a really kind gesture. Up to the £400 mark and climbing. If you do twitter or Facebook stick it on there for us, Iv’e joined twitter but really haven’t got a clue what I’m doing at the moment.
Thank you again matey, I got your ticket for Huddersfield today, over 60 prices, LOL.
£10 cheaper though, so there’s a bonus, compensation for having to sit next to me.
StuWolf
Stu … We all know that you will do anything to raise money for a good cause ..
And you know what they say about charity beginning at home !
Well fucking hell
Poor old Kenny J had to sit at the poorthorns today and watch some car crash of a left back
People think it won’t effect him !
Bollocks !
It must have been like a game of twister with open sores at a leper colony!
Mate .. You gonna catch something at that shit pit !
I really like Kenny jackett .. But I’m not sure I want him back now at all .
He s fucking dirty inside
Soiled
No good now
Not anymore !
Sorry
Kenny … You got to leave mate !,
By all reports in the Express & Lie, we’re after Coco the clown the LB from the Shite. If reports are anything to go by, he gifted both of Posh’s goals. He’ll fit in just nicely with Danny then.
Yow gorra loff, ay ya?
There I was, fast forwarding through a recording of the Arsenal Burnley cup tie, and right as Sam Vokes was celebrating his goal, I thought I saw a ghost from the past.
On rewind, sure enuff, with half a haircut, was my player of the last century, McDickwadhead’s love child, Stephen fuckin’ Ward
It got better.
In the second half, leading up to the winning goal, there he was again, in all his useless glory, backing off, backing off, giving the Arsenal player at least 10 yards in the box, cross, whammo, goal.
He still hasnt a fuckin’ clue!!
What a waste of skin!
Made my day!

My mate say’s RVLP is having talks with the Huddersfield Chairman today, confirmed in the wolves news now.
If we sell VLP now after his MoTM performance against QPR then Moron, Toxic and Jackoff really have taken leave of their senses – it can’t be for the money given that we still have £6.75m of Afobe’s £10m burning a hole in our pocket so it must be for ‘footballing reasons’. Personally I hope we don’t and I don’t believe we will but then again…………..we are talking about nasty, small minded, money grabbing odious little worms who know nothing about football and who care even less about our club or us the fans.
Why dont you say what you really mean, Bedders, instead of pussyfooting around the subject??
They are a pair of not nice people!!
My apologies guys, I was out and forgot to update this item.
RVLP is staying.
3 Months ago I would have been cheering, but I have to admit I am thrilled he is staying.
🙂
It might be that he wants to leave
Up until lately he was shit
We made it clear we didn’t want him
And couldn’t give him away
