I just got the scoop off my dad (as all good journalists do) that the two Wolves matches to be shown on Sky up to Christmas are away to Sunderland on Sunday the 27th September and home to Villa on Saturday 24th October.

What do we think of these?
The long trip to Sunderland is one I’d wager most fans won’t fancy making, so the fact it’s on TV will only make their decision that bit easier. I’m sure Mick will want to go there and get a result though and the history between our manager and their club is probably the reason Sky picked it. They’ve got the backing now so it will be interesting to see what players they bring in and what kind of Sunderland team we come up against. It’s the kind of place where you might well be able to get a result though and I’m sure Mick will have the team up for that one.
Villa at home is a completely different ballgame. For starters, I hate it when Sky pick home matches, as I’m always there so can’t benefit. But if it had to be a home game, it might as well be a derby. Should be a good game and we’re long overdue a result against that lot. If memory serves, the last time we were in the Premiership, they stuffed us 4-0 at home. That was not a pleasant experience. But they’re a quality team with some top-draw players, so it will be a tough, tough game.

Think our home game against Arsenal is also being shown, but think that is being screened on the new ESPN channel.
Fancy us for at least a draw in the Sunderland game but guess their team could look a bit different come the start of the season.
Would take a draw too from the Villa game but would really love to shut up a few of the Villa fans I know by beating them. Why do they all seem think they are a big club!!
Also has anyone seen whats happening to Hull. Looks like no-one at all wants to join that nob Phil Brown’s Orange faced army!! Sunderland look like they are signing Campbell, Fortune has gone to Celtic, Scotland is going to Wigan, Owen went to Utd. Every player they are being linked to just doesn’t seem to want to go!!! I wonder why Phil!! I wonder why!!!
Apparently Phil Brown hasn’ been able to pull himself away from the mirror to meet his transfer targets face to face. Shame that Phil, you orange, self obsessed, Beach boy loving freak.
I am really starting to develop and hatred for all things Hull, a hatred, I’m please to say that is already fully bloomed when it comes to our claret and blue nighbours ASTON VILLA (said through gritted teeth). I proper hate them, if you took them out of the Prem it would be six week before anyone noticed, they are such a nothing team, but the fans give the big one. If we could have only one win all season I would take it away to ASTON VILLA (gritted teeth again). Big clubs don’t loose hold of their life long player turned captain to a sidways move and a bigger pay day (see Gerrard @ Liverpool for an exampe of a big club). Martin O’Niel is one of my favourite people in football, not least because of his time with the Bhoys of Celtic. To see him in charge of that shower only make me hate them more.
ASTON VILLA??????? I hate them!!!!!
So are you trying to say you don’t like Villa or something Pete? Could you be a bit more clear, I”m struggling to read between the lines. Haha
Why do we hate Hull so much? We’re likely to be in a mini-league with them next season so hopefully they won’t strengthen too much.
To be honest, I am looking at the business Hull, Stoke, Blues, Burnley etc do as much as our own transfer activity.
Tom – with you on looking at the signings those 4 are making. Would put Pompey in there as well and think it’ll be interesting to see how wigan start the season under martinez
I didn’t used to hate Hull. When they got promoted I was honestly happy. Small family club done well and all that. Got no problems with the fans either. Its just Phil Brown!! Just can’t bear him. A season of him on our tv’s has been one too many already. Get the increasing feeling that he thinks of himself as the English Mourinho – and just says stuff to try to be contraversial. Difference is Phil, Mourinho was a good manager. Arrogance and being that outspoken only works if you are good at your job to start with!!
Yeah, I’d definitely put Pompey and Wigan in the mixer too. They’ve made wholesale changes both to their squads and backroom staff, which is never a good combo. Can see them both struggling.
So it’s Phil Brown more than Hull. He does seem to love himself. Perhaps all the attention after being in the background for so long at Bolton turned him slightly narcissistic. They’ll find it very tough this season unless they make some signings. It might sound slightly arrogant to say this, but I already think our squad is better than theirs.
I’d still take one or two of them in our team. How would you lke to have:
Micheal Turner
Kamil Zayatte
Ian Ashbee
And the forgotten £5M Jimmy Bullard???
Really rate this guy as well as Turner. Bullard, injurie free, is a top six player, Turner too for that matter.
