Since the turn of the Millennium, only Derby County (07/08) and Sunderland twice (05/06 & 02/03) have stumbled their way to less points in a Premier League season than us.
Unless we win one of our last two games, the mighty Leicester City of Trevor Benjamin vintage (2001/02) will have boasted a better campaign than ours, on a positively gargantuan points haul of 28.
If we lose our last two games, even Bradford City’s old duffers of Peter Atherton fame will have outdone us in 2000/01, when they finished bottom with 26 points.

In a collective Premier League table of 240 teams, our current crop of players currently sit in 237th place.
With 240 lots of 25 man squads, there have been 6,000 squad places to have played in the league, with our 24 men loitering from about 5,900th place.
Add in the heaviest home defeat to WBA since 1962, an all-time record breaking succession of home defeats and the joint worst goals conceded record at home in Premier League history (one goal from Everton will give us the title from Derby outright) and it is fair to surmise that we are shit.
Not just shit, but one of the shittest teams to have ever played in the top flight so far this century.
So when Michael Kightly and Dave Edwards come out and start drooling over Terry Connor like a 12 year-old on his first wankmag, I start to scratch my head.
When Stephen Ward starts talking about a shop window to exploit at the Euros I start to scratch my fist.
And when Terry Connor reckons he’s actually enhanced his chances of a full-time job I scratch my poor, poor eyes to see if these statistics I’ve stumbled upon are actually a figment of my imagination.
To see if a season ticket in my favourite seat is really going to cost me £600 when I tell my little boy that a Ben10 scooter is £100 too much.
Old red eyes is back alright.
And with this sickening torrent of delusional, disturbing bullshit from one of the most hopeless, pathetic group of Premier League failures ever, I think it’s best I just close them tight and dream that I’m living in the real world.

But…..but……we’ve got a shiny new stand!?!?
Is anybody else looking forward to “Superman” Stephen Ward getting horribly exposed at the Euros?
Personally, I would like all our Irish “heroes” to shine at the Euro’s, and then maybe someone would be stupid enough to buy them.
TC’s going to get the job full time isn’t he ?
Put your mortgage on it-Moron is doing cheap big time.
No he is not.Don’t lose sleep over it,he WILL NOT get the job….guaranteed. I ‘m quite positive that we will all(well nearly all, except those favouring the likes of Peter Reid(!!!!!) be pleasantly surprised when the new manager is announced.
No Edward he will be exposed again on Sunday, continuing his ever present shiteness, in front of the shiny new stand.
“Michael Kightly and Dave Edwards come out and start drooling over Terry Connor like a 12 year-old on his first wankmag”
This has given me the image of Terry Connor being Playboy centrefold. I’ve just been a bit sick in my mouth
Further evidence of Greaseballs string pulling.
FOTC,MORON,GREASEBALLANDBALDRICKJOHNSON.
Great post mate.
Loving the factoids about shite sides.
What they point out (to me at least) is the complete mismanagement of our club.
The players we have, however poor they may have looked of late, are infinitely better than the likes of Sunderland, Bradford and Leicester had at their disposal in their miserable seasons.
I still hand on heart believe, had we got a more experienced manager in when Mick was given the flick, that we could have survived.
TC wasn’t the man for the job then and he certainly isn’t the man for the job now.
But did any of the other 240 sides come out with these brainshrinking quotes about ‘getting better’ and TC knowing how to fix it, enhancing his position etc etc etc.
Its no wonder I feel so marginalised when I keep hearing this stuff, which boasts as much rational integrity as an argument between Jordan and Peter Andre.
It tries SO hard to assume the moral highground that I actually feel like I’ve got it all wrong. That the notion of conceptuality is a picture of Terry and Jez holding aloft a print out of the Premier League table with big toothy grins as if this is all part of a great big fucking masterplan. Wankers.
with all the drivel coming out of the club it makes you wonder if they have forgotten the fans are still here…. it feels like no-one cares for any of us..just the money in our pocket ……..me still thinks time for that petition!….or get a load of us to protest outside the stadium and get sky down there! its the only way to get them to listen!
Told you the only way to MAKE A POINT is protest after the whistle ON the pitch, where the whole football world will see and how pissed off we all are for the way they have treated us fans.FOJM,FOTC. I hope at the end of the match Morgans got a Black taxi waiting for them both, the waster’s
That’s not true and it could get violent. I can in no way countenance anyone entering the playing area on Sunday. That is a terrible, terrible suggestion.
Should have said peaceful protest, maybe it would be terrible for you having to jump off the Billy Wright. That would be nasty.
I don’t sit in the Billy Wright stand. I have a season ticket in the John Ireland/Steve Bull stand and have had for 17 seasons (18 next season).
It’s all well and good saying “Have a peaceful protest” but it’s very rare that protests happen without incident. I think the safety of fans, players, coaching staff and officials would be compromised if a protest was held on the pitch.
Apologies Tettenhall Wolf for thinking you sat in the Billy quiet, but i beg to differ, I still think it would be the only way we could get our discontent
over to those who have continually took the P out of us all imo.
What would you suggest we do just take it and say nothing because if we
don’t we can expect the very same next season and the next,so for me i’m all for action no matter how radical or compromising you think it is,
I’ll be interested to know what else we could do to get to get any joy with
this load of crap we have running OUR CLUB.
What are you going to do just take it.FOJM,FOTC.
Fantastic blog Ben .. and how damning it is of the current SHIT that we have had to endure all season. Couple of other stats for you and others are if you’re a season ticket EB holder in the Billy Wright stand.
Cost per home goal .. £24.93 and cost per home point .. £43.06 to date.
Those bunch of wankers can go and swivel on moxey’s bonus for all I care about them. And all this bollocks about haw much the players love TC .. well it’s making me ill !
I don`t know about a more experienced manager, we only needed one who understood what tactics worked, and what attributes players needed, to be fit for purpose in the premiership. MM proved his dinasur status by buying Mijas, a player of some skills, but hopelessly un suitable for the pass and move at pace, lets counter attack in numbers premiership. He plays Ward at left back, again so one paced and lacking in mobility, an embarrassment way back in the championship days.
Ben your stats don`t lie, its just a shame that our CEO couldn`t see the problems at the end of last season, and deal with them. On occasion our players, mostly with a crowded midfield have shown they could do it in the prem. Only for Mm to change everything the following week. TC sadly had the same flawed DNA as MM, so the team continued to fail, the last hour at Swansea showed the players, with the right tactics could play and score goals.
The Greasel did see our problems at the end of last season, it was impossible not to. He just gambled on Norwich and Swansea being dead certs for relegation – our CEO does not have a football brain, he’s a bean counter with a footballers ego – and there my friend, lies the problem!
Bit of a late starter, were’nt you, Ben?
First hand crank at 12?
Not like in my day.
Walking or wanking. Always a “toss” up which came first!!!
Compelling and rich, as always Clive
thought you were a bit quiet!
Waiting for words of wisdom from greasel, on or about May 32nd!!
totally gobsmacked , left speechless , depressed , dreading next season….its like a pantomime ..but THE FANS ARE NOT BEHIND YOU!!!!!1
we are the biggest joke in premier league history…just waiting for the next great installment in the comic book known as wolves!
We need this ‘superhero’ to pay a visit to Molineux.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lRIQGU2RRk
Love the video. Trouble is there are 25,000+ at the Mol and countless others all round the country who are already saying that but the two who count are immune to our ‘superpowers’.
But what are we gonna do about it,we can’t just moan about it we must do something
or else it will the same as.FOJM,FOTC.
Great blog Ben.
Am absolutely gobsmacked by TC’s logic.
Can anyone try and justify such a performance as manager and still have any self respect?
Answer no.
At the final home game the fans must let the ‘board’ know, in no uncertain terms, what a waste TC is.
Am amazed that people seem to have forgotten he is in the same mould though worse than MM…..
Oh dear, after 50 years of supporting Wolves, TC, Poxey Moxey, silent Morgan et al are driving me away for despite my allegiance I have a brain and it is not to be ‘washed’ by the goons in charge of our club…
If we are using statistics then why not extrapolate. TC has got 3 points from 11 games. This equates to 10 points in a season of 38 games. I can’t even begin to think how he can possibly be considered as manager for next season. In spite of this I think he will be. At times I think I have missed something but for the life of me I don’t know what it is.
“Marginalised” is a good way to describe the feeling.
I think I’d rather save my money and buy a Ben 10 scooter than line the pockets of over paid, over extended clowns both on the field and in the boardroom.
When the club returns to its normal standing, so will I. In the meantime I’ll be in the scooter park come Saturday afternoons. For a good while to come to, I’m betting.
its a very sad state of affairs aint it monkey boy? you my friend are not the only one to feel like that..a mate of mine has hardly missed a game home and away for the best part of 30 yrs and he has now almost fallen out of love with the club – it feels like all the anger of the fans is about to explode in a cocophony of abuse saturday ..something the majority of fans would never have been part of before now! if we dont let our true feelings be known saturday then i believe we will have missed our chance !!!! makes you wonder what the ugly sisters reallthink about the fans dont it?
Don’t want to burst your bubble or anything, Goldy, but you would make a far stronger statement if you waited until Sunday afternoon!!!
point taken old bastard .. bet youre glad you aint over here.. its a washout and i dont mean the weather clive
Less of the old.
Rotund, yes, but never old.
Just watching Kenny Miller start for Cardiff… 9 (nine) years after he won the play offs with us.
Bloody marvellous.
Really sad news about Jody Croddocks son. I’ve got a 2 year old and well… all of a sudden it’s in perspective.
I find it quite interesting the amount of shit being thrown at Moxey and very little mention of the main cause of our predicament.Mick McCarthy is the man responsible. He is the one who brought his shitty kind of football(putting a shift in and all that bollocks). He is the one who refused to progress. He is the one who was found out when a plan B was needed. He is the cause of our extreme shitness.
And yet, if you look back to our first season under him in the Prem, he did change his methods after a while, and results improved enough for us to stay up with 2 games to go.
However, he resorted to the plan A at the start of last season, god knows why, and the rest as they say, is history.
Fuckin’ wanker.
Loving the use of ‘Greasel’ lads. Top notch stuff.
I’d love to see a GREASEL OUT banner on Saturday but I fear the meaning would only be appreciated by the fine contributors on here.
We must get this in the OED. Definition; A rotund, smug, contradictory and generally disgusting human being
Hey come on, I know Clive admitted to rotund but that’s just going too far
Other stats that prove this current crop are shit are: equal least amount of clean sheets in prem history: longest wolves run in 130+ years of not keeping clean sheet. What a bunch of shitheads
The awful news about Jody Craddock’s son being diagnosed with leukaemia puts this all into perspective. It’s only a game. Good luck and God bless, Jody.
Reidy is better than Ollie and just as funny (surely the only reason you like him). Tony Pulis knows that, that’s why he gave him his last serious job. I want Poyet though, I think he has the personality to unite us all.
Spot on, Woody.
Yes being bottom actually makes us look better than we are. It’s only that we can’t go any further. The fact that another team is in the relegation zone with 10 more points than us really helps to illustrate how awful we are.
Until Moron The Scouse decides what he is doing about Coco and the rest of the Clowns we haven’t got a clue. Just checked Wolves Rumours and talk of Direcor of Football Peter Reid does not inspire me.
We should appoint a Manager long term who can see us through to establishing a strong base in Premier.
Don’t think that lot upstairs have got a clue how to go about doing it, especially with competition from “other” clubs in The Midlands.
More shambles on the way I fear.
Excellent blog Ben!
You’ve hit several nails on many heads there.
One thing you got wrong is that unfortunately you ARE living in the real world. It’s the overpaid, underachieving, complacent bunch who, whether they stay or leave the club will still be earning more in a couple of weeks than we do in a year, are living in cloud cuckoo land.
I know it’s been said before but in retrospect it would have been better to have been relegated last season when we were clearly not good enough. We could have chucked out all the dead wood and would have been 12 months down the road to recovery by now.
I understand Capello is free and looking for a challenge.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17950830
He’d have a challenge here alright.
Perhaps we should go for the recently sacked Fiorentina Manager. Sacked for slapping one
of his players who dissed him after being subbed!?
Postman Pat for WestBrom.
Meg’s son for Wolves.
Let’s go back to division 4…
Sports headline in the Birmingham Mail on May 3rd states – ‘Wolves: “Let’s make next year a fat year!” says Terry Connor’. Well, that’s it then, Connor is staying and so is Moxey if ‘fat’ is anything to go by.
The Ben 10 scooter sounds better value to me!
They won’t have any more of my cash until they get the clubs shit together.
Firstly to those commenting on the Billy Wright stand. So the people that sit there tend to be older, so what, it probably means that they’ve been supporting the club for far longer than those making the comment. I had a ST in there with my Dad for many years, from when the stand was build when we transferred, so don’t diss the supporters there, they have proven to be just as, and probably more loyal than anyone else. Maybe when you reach the average age of supporters there, then you may not be so loud as you probably are now! Being in the BW doesn’t make anyone any less a supporter, probably more.
As far as TC is concerned, I do think that he will be given the job. In fainess to him he hasn’t had any opportunity to put his own stamp on the squad, so all he has done is sent out MMs players. If he is given the job he’s gonna get hounded out in no time, by supporters and press so will be a waste of time. I would prefer someone else who would be able to stand up to Moxey and Morgan more than TC can. Curbs No, Big Sam, not now he looks like he could promote, Ince, Clarke, Solskajr for me, but maybe we will hae to wait a season until TC fails
