The Bristol City assistant manager had an interesting view on Tuesday’s game.
Jamie McAllister said they went like-for-like against our system during the first half and that helped them get a foothold in the match.
I thought most of the game, particularly the second half, was wave after wave of Wolves attack with the visitors lucky to remain in touching distance.
At 2-2 I said it was the most unjust scoreline I’d seen for a long time, so you can imagine how I was feeling at 3-2.
Then again, as they hadn’t won at Molineux for nearly a century I just assumed there was some divine intervention evening things out.
With fate seemingly conspiring against us, I was happy with the point.
Notts Forest
I suspected Forest would have an upturn in fortunes this season. I’m not Mark Warburton’s biggest fan but I think he’s a good manager.
He did well at Brentford and Rangers so it was a decent coup for them to get him to the City Ground given their recent track record.
Losing Britt Assombalonga was a blow, but they’ve recruited well. Daryl Murphy isn’t a glamour signing but he’ll get the goals and has four already.
Winger Barrie McKay has followed Warburton down from Rangers and by all accounts is one of the bargains of the summer at £500k.
I don’t think they’ll be top six come May, but I also can’t see them being anywhere close to the bottom either. This feels like a building season.
Wolves
I thought Nuno was vindicated with his midweek changes as both N’Diaye and Cavaleiro played very well.

Saiss is unlucky to miss out if the coach sticks with the same XI, but it’s good to have that high level of competition.
I thought it was interesting that the Moroccan came on and played in the back three, which underlines the tactical flexibility Nuno has with several of his players.
I’d still prefer to see Boly in that back three, but you can’t argue with Batth’s performances. Miranda continues to make the odd mistake in and out of possession so he could come under threat.
With Helder Costa seemingly well on the road to recovery we’re pretty much just waiting to see him named in a matchday squad. He won us this fixture last season and would be great to see him again tomorrow.
Predictions
I’m going for another victory. We’re playing well and I think if we get near our maximum we’ll have more than enough to get it done against Forest.
Having seen us perform so consistently home and away so far, there’s no reason we should expect a dip in levels.
We’ve kept four cleansheets in seven matches and hoping for another tomorrow.
1-0.
Up The Wolves!
* Check out netbet.co.uk for all the latest betting odds and special offers. Back Wolves for the win today at 6/5.

Exciting times . Just hope the guys can get the zonal marking worked out as Nuno will not change that . There are no stand out teams this year in the championship so I am hopeful if a top 6 finish . A win tomorrow will help of course .
First 9 games have been a progression of playing football & a developing team.
I’m pleased we’re playing away as I think this will play in our favour.
Again we’ll play football, might get a break with a consistant referee & a further opportunity to consilidate the 2 points average.
Hope Costa ain’t far off & a great bench.
Put away our chances & it’s a win.
COMB FOwb & shite ref’s
Shout out to Carl too
Think this game could be a tricky one with fewer goals than midweek – Forest look like they are competative at this level and their fans will be drive them on at home.
That said we are more than a little useful ourselves….close one but Im going for a tight game with Wolves finishing on top.
Nottingham Forest 0
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2
and I will be there too!!
Prediction League table is up to date:
https://wolvesblog.com/prediction-league
Hopefully people’s scores are still being tracked correctly. I’m aware the software doesn’t seem to like 0-0 scorelines, so Brentford game may have scuppered things slightly.
Check me out! Top of the league……………
……………….well, probably won’t last!
😉
Wolves to win while I lay in the Madeira sunshine, come on !!!
expecting a lot of this scoreline this season
We play such exciting football I cant actually remember enjoying watching us play this much before … even shit refs and THAT cardiff game arent enough to douse the satisfaction of watching us ping it about the field like i’m playing a game of fifa
we cant defend however and for this reason if we cant outscore the opposition we will struggle to win
2-2 all. day . long.
Ref is Geoff Eltringham from tyne so thats Newcastle .
23 yellows handed out this season as yet so maybe we will get some protection for our stars.
Comes to something when i am more bothered about the bloody ref than the opposition.
Predict yet another fantastic game of football we bring out the best in teams it seems.
We will have too much for them so a wolves win by a margin as we cant KEEP missing .
Shooting boots on for jota , neves , marshall and bonatini.

When the fixtures come out this is the first game I look for. When you were born in Nottingham and have lived in Nottinghamshire all your life there is nothing better than beating Forest and getting one up on your in-laws, neighbours, friends and work colleagues. Couldn’t get a ticket in the away end so spent £132.00 for two tickets for Sue and I in a corporate lounge along with Bedders & BOG. Now, you don’t get a meal or anything, just a free programme but what you do get is the company of a Forest Leg End in your lounge. I was hoping for say, Trevor Francis, Stuart Pearce or perhaps Peter Shilton so I was gobsmacked to get the email saying which Leg End we would have with us. Non other than the great man himself…………………….Eugen Bopp ! Who the f**k is he ? I googled it and it said that The Eugen Bopp was an 80’s dance craze similar to Hey Macarena. Don’t think I will bother getting his autograph. Anyway, on to the game, a good friend of mine who is a Forest STH says they will beat us as we like to play football ? Couldn’t quite work that one out. Think it will be close but a repeat of the 1980 League Cup Final score will do me nicely. So come on boys, a win for Wolves at The Shitty Ground would make an old man very happy. Three points and a good away performance after ninety minutes and you just might see me, Sue, Bedders & Bog doing The Eugen Bopp in the corporate seats !
Will make a change from seeing Stu and Jenwolf doing the samba round the ground!!
Agree with your score we will come back down to earth with our usual 1-0 with Hota getting another.
Did he put the Bopp in the Bop shoo bop shoo bop?
If so, who put the ram in Jed Moxey’s bedroom
And who put the ding in the microwave.
I’m about mid table in prediction league need some points I’m sound like it’s all about me!
I keep having two scores in my head recently 2 2 I first thought but now going for a narrow win
Cmon the wolves
Looking for a good all round performance further jelling the squad together. Exciting times with players with flair and speed. 3 points tomorrow should reinforce our determination to be up at the very top come Christmas and onward through to May.
Difficult game to win, Warburton is a clever manager. We will have to be tight in defence and not wasteful up front.
Nottingham Forest 1 Wolves 2
N.B: Who are Notts Forest?
Definitely a difficult fixture with Forest flying but I think we have the players to edge this one. Bonatini always looks dangerous and should be good enough to get one in the net.
Don’t know why but I have a feeling this will be another draw.
Think Forest will score, but hopefully we’ll have too much for them going forward.
My most recent three trips to Forest have seen us win 1-0 (2009, Kightly), 2-1 (2015, Afobe and Sako) and 2-0 (2016, Costa and Cavaleiro).
I see no reason why my visit tomorrow shouldn’t see a fourth straight win.
We are playing some great stuff, scoring goals and in NES have a manager who looks, listens and learns and who knows what is required to adapt during games.
I therefore see us winning 3-0 with goals from Bonatini, Jota and Neves.
OODCL
hoping for a clean sheet, glad Danny Batth is getting a run out , seems a different player from last season and not prone to hoof it all the time plus he is a good bet for an anytime goalscorer
COYW
Think il keep with 2. 1 until we win. Erm 2. 1
A draw won’t be the end of the world but being away holds no disadvantage for us as far as I’m concerned, let em come at us , as their fans should expect from the home team, and we can show them how to counter attack , top by October, Leeds have played 4 of the bottom five btw so not even remotely fussed by them , bookies aren’t usually too far off and there are a few already tipping the mighty wolves
These are the days my friends
Enjoy em
Utw
Bristol result was disappointing but we created chances.
I like going to Forest, only good memories from there all my life, so with the footy we’re playing at the minute I can’t see any reason to come away without a smile on my face yet again.
The Wolves 12th man away from home is different than at Molineux, they are from all parts of the Molineux huddled into one area, so the noise we generate is so much better than at home. When you buy a ST you have to take what’s available so all the regular P heads and singing fans tend to be split up, which dampens the atmosphere a little. But away, we get behind the team, get pissed and get singing, so come on me Bambinos, 2-0 to us again, Bonatini and Vinagre to bag one each, for Costa to then come off the bench for the last 10 minutes.
COMBambinos
Got a strange feeling this could be another score draw.
Peter Daniel plays the ball forward for grey to chase ,
It’s a tad hopeful to be honest,
Needham goes to clear
Hold on , Shilton is coming for the same ball
There’s a mix up
Grey may be in here
Grey is in here
Grey is. Yes grey must score
Grey has scored
Wolves are 1 nil up
Still my best ever match
Haven’t predicted a correct score on here since the Zenga regime, so doubt I’ll start now.
Just hope we win. Playing great football at the moment, keep it up lads.
I echo the sentiments of Newark Wolves, I live in Nottingham and for all the reasons in that post, winning this match would be so precious.
Last season it was Costa and Cav who made all the difference in the 2-0 win, and I`m hoping that Cav can repeat his performance from Tuesday. Not sure we can keep a clean sheet, so I`ll go for a 3-1 win, I expect Forest will want to play football so should be a good game I feel.
Watched Kightly score the winner whilst sitting amongst the Forest fans all those seasons ago, fortunately am in the away end tomorrow, so can cheer the lads on to a victory and be back home in 30 minutes.
Good luck Mark. Hope they do the business again for you.
Reckon it’ll be a tough game but we will get up in the end.
Come on Wolves.
Is there a forest in Nottingham? I’ve never seen one. A couple of trees and some grass by the Trent. That’s about it really. Any way, here is what will happen tomorrow. In the build up to kick off the Forest faithfull will be revelling in retro footage of the 1979 European Champions triumph and singing “Champions of Europe-you’ll never sing that” Yeah right – Wolves were the original European trail blazers suckers. Any way, suddenly a hang glider hovers over the ground piloted by none other than Luke Sykwalker who is in training to appear as a celebrity on Bear Grylls new show “how to avoid being eaten by an enormous fuck-off crocodile”. And he proceeds to unfurl a banner which says ‘Gary Birtles was shit -Wolves Ay We’. This has an unsettling effect on the Forest fans and manager Mark ‘Wanky’ Warburton attempts to throw a Warburtons Extra-Thick sliced loaf at Skywalker, who decides it is probably best to fly off and continue his training. As he does so a stray crust from the loaf falls towards earth and lands on Nuno’s head. nuno is furious and wrestles the loaf from warburton and shoves it in to his face. The match proceeds and WWFC’s imperious passing game begins to take hold on the game. Samba soccer indeed. More controversy with the Ref as he proceeds to award forest 3 penalties( one because a Wolves player took a foul throw on the half way line, another because a flying fish came over from the Trent and impeded a Forest striker and the other ? well fuck knows). Meanwhile four Wolves goals are disallowed (one because the sun was glinting unfairly in to the Forest goalie’s eyes, a second because a Wolves fan in the away end farted loudly distracting the Forest left back another because a pigeon had a shit on a Forest defender and the other was offside). Admirably WWFC maintain their compsure and despite the sinister referreing still manage to secure a thrilling 5-3 win. After the match Warburton moaned about lack of protection from hang gliders. Nuno said Warburton and the Ref are a pair of wankers. Another thrilling day for the Wolves and a 5-3 win. Good luck to all those attending !
Y’know Cheese. I think you could be right.
Warburton loaf was a seeded batch. I wish you would check your facts it unfairly distorts the article.
Moisture meter readings all below 9%

I promise I wont mention it again, but thanks a million for all your support and the donations, which magically appeared in our bank account yesterday.
I also had two very nice e mails from my new BFF John Richards!
On to football.
Those of an ancient age like wot I are will obviously always associate Forest with Peter Knowles’s last game for Wolves.
For me, the most talented and skillful player to ever pull on a Wolves shirt.
So, for that reason alone, although totally illogical, I always hate ’em!
Annihilation tomorrow is too good for them, nothing short of total humiliation, and their players running off the pitch back to Momma’s arms in abject shame will do for me.
5-1 is the minimum to expect.
FOwb
My ex is from Nottingham so this could get personal. They’re a bit touchy about little things, like anyone mistakenly calling Nottingham Forest, Notts Forest. That doesn’t go down well with the city folk. And, is Trent Bridge cricket ground in the city or the county? They will soon point out where the city line is…for the benefit of any country yokels like me!
Mark Warburton is a shrewd coach and will make Forest tough to beat. He was a formidable opponent for us when at Brentford. Nevertheless with our quality we should be beating even tough-to-beat teams. I’m pleased with Danny Batth’s progress under Nuno, as he looks a better passer of the ball now, as well as a real goal threat with his physicality. In days gone by he was more of an own-goal threat. Nuno’s build-from-the-back philosophy hasn’t quite worked out sufficiently and we’re still vulnerable to corners and set pieces. That said, I think we can snatch a tight win tomorrow. 2-1.
I watched the highlights from the last three Nottingham forest games and to be honest I don’t think they’ve got a massive amount of quality. They were lucky to win at Sunderland and with a trip down to Stamford bridge in the week I think we’ll be coming away with at least a point. Teams are under a bit more pressure when their at home to come out and play and certainly try and get something from the game so I think playing away will suit us. Back at molineux teams are going to try and disrupt our style of play and get the crowd frustrated. I think we’ll get the job done tomorrow with a one nil win. Jota to score again
Not sure what cheeseburger has been smoking ..I have a less exciting prediction
We concede early and then spend 70 mins battering away for equalizer .. which comes with a harsh penalty decision from
another crap ref
This is our last draw prior to a 6 game winning streak with Costa
back on the pitch
Did you know that Nottingham Forest is an anagram for:-
‘Hot giant nose frmt?’
Interesting eh?
I tried to make something clever, witty and apposite but lost interest after a minute or two and wandered off to look at the tomato ketchup stain on the wall.
As far as the football’s concerned, I think it’ll keep me interested rather longer.
It could be another classic.
Which we should win.
I swear that stain’s got bigger!
Tighten fat morons, is the anagram I came up with DooG
Tomato ketchup stain on the wall eh?
Maybe you should get forensics in. And in the meantime don’t ask the PMDG about it and try not to annoy her as much as usual. We’ve all been under stress since the Cardiff result but I would suggest sleeping with one eye open.
In the meantime, what do you see when you look at the ‘ketchup’ stain?
I see a twenty goal a season striker.
…But I can’t quite make out who it is.
Would love a win but will take a draw
We will steamroller some teams this year but not Notts forest, close game it our class will tell.
Been eagerly waiting since Tuesday for this one. COYW
Here in Dehli – will keep with original prediction.
Still on holiday so short and sweet again.
Bad feelings what can I say
We have done well lately against Forrest but this is the championship where, it seems, anyone can beat anyone.
I have watched all the Wolves games, in full, via WolvesTV. We have certainly played some excellent football in the last two matches yet only have 4 points to show from it.
We are creating chance upon chance and with some very attractive football to boot.
I am pleased with Bonatini. He is an intelligent and technically gifted player. His overall play is very good considering he has only been playing at this level for 7 games.
No surprise that our longer serving players are putting in a much improved performance, compaired to previous seasons. The reason being they are now playing with better quality players, who have helped them improve their game to another level. Coady and Batth look totally different – confident, capable and hungry to succeed.
I don’t think we can get 3 points at Forrest so another draw for me.
This will probably be my last prediction for a while as I am off to soak up the sun out in Turkey. Will be back in time for my 65th birthday (October 10th!). I will try and post but my priorities will be Tuborg Gold beer and large Gin & Tonics!
Missing you all already !

Have a great hols Sev’. 🙂
Cheers mate. Looking forward to it
Sevlow, I beat you by 1 year and 9 days, Oct 1st, 66 years young.
Have a great time buddy, we’ll win this for you.
🙂 cheers Stuart
Congrats for the 10th Sevlow ….
Her Majesty’s Government look fwd to shelling out that Pension to you …
Enjoy ….
Thanks, not taking my pension yet, probably in 2 years time. 🙂
Have to be pesimistic again
Wolves often win when I predict they will lose.
So hope there will be Wolves 2 and Forest 1

Some absolutely great comments today 🙂 It seems our only chink has been young Roderick at the back and yet our MOM from two games ago (Saiss) was dropped to the bench. When he came on he replaced Roddy – so why not start Saiss in the back 3. He plays there for his country anyway.
Would love to see a win – but not too sure about this one. Ah what the hell. Let’s go for it!
Being of quite mature stock, I always like the games against the teams who were big ‘back in the day’. Leeds, Wednesday, Flum, Accrington Stanley. So a tear up against Forest who, for a few years, were top of the tree, is one to definitely savour. Times change in footie however and Forest’s star, which once turned Super Nova and shone so brightly, has, over some years, become something of a Red Dwarf.
Their current squad shows promise, however, but they’ll need more than that to overcome our heroes who have the style, panache and quality to take all three points from this latest encounter.
Waiting with bated breath for the return of young Master Costa who will give us a depth of attacking talent rarely seen in the second tier of English football. Or anybody else’s football if it comes to that.
First went there in 1976 on ‘Doreen’s’coach but roadworks delayed us and it was 1-1 when we got in but we won 3-1 in the end before going on to win the second division championship. Will not be there this time as off on my hols but I’m going for ditto this season.
We’re going to be better away from home this season. Just hope everybody is in shape again after the ding dong battle Tuesday night.
As per usual I don’t have a clue, but you e got to back your own team haven’t you. Hoping for a better percentage of goals per shot.
Going for a win because it has to come. Not going for a big score just something tidy with few nail biting moments
Not a problem surely with the way we are playing at the moment, provided we get a ref who actually knows the laws and applies them in a fair manner
Another tough game, but aren’t they all in the Championship? Not sure whether to go for a win or a draw tomorrow; just like Natalie Imbruglia I’m ‘Torn’.
Nuno says Costa is still in some pain, so I’m not expecting him to make a return just yet.
We need Boly back.
This fixture gives me the creeps but we are capable to give them a thumping..but..(If) DB plays then we concede here…. it’s almost written..
I can see him doing a dalek…
However optimism in gear… 2-1 and if they let us play I can see more…after all we did beat them here before..
Lets also see how to deal with set plays and how to take chances have been trained into them ..Nuno…
Come on Wolves we need 3 points …
My dislike for Forest is well known on this site but I just wanted to share this article from yesterdays Newark Advertiser with anyone going to the game tomorrow. He actually used to live on the same street as me and putting football rivalrys to one side you wouldn’t wish this on a fellow football fan.
https://newarkadvertiser.co.uk/news/2017/09/14/nottingham-forest-faithful-will-pay-tribute-to-one-of-their-own
Read the article mate, and whatever happened, its one of those occasions where you’d hope both sets of fans come together
Wolves fans joined in the applause and it didn’t go unnoticed by the Forest fans where we were.
We will get 3. Points no problem.
Can’t see this being an easy game but hoping for 3 points.
COYW
It’s a 3-step recipe:
1. Be clinical up front.
2. Defend set pieces well.
3. Prepare better than they do.
Easy! 🙂
Go Wolves!
I’m hoping for a win tomorrow because a) we’re playing some good football of late and b) I completely dislike one of the most unsporting men in football management..wanky Warburton.
I can’t see any reason why we shouldn’t win albeit that we’ll concede a couple of set piece softees….
Enjoy the day you travelling bloggers……. fell the Forest…
Just had some disturbing news. Kim Jong Un’s latest missile over shot Japan by some margin. It landed on West Bromwich and caused £45 billion improvements.
For God’s sake stop saying NOTTS Forest……..It’s NOTTINGHAM forest or NOTTS County.
So what is the problem Mick ? I live in Newark and most of my post is addressed to me in Newark, Notts ! It is short for Nottinghamshire. Just like Wolves is short for Wolverhampton but I don’t complain. Little bit sad if all you are bothered about don’t you think ?
What about Gump?
How about Nottm?
Nottm Forest is fine according to my ex. It’s social death in certain arsey circles in Nottingham to say Notts Forest. They need to get a life! I think I dodged a bullet there, but at least the sex was great!
I’m probably in a minority in that I think we are heading for a spanking. We made to many mistakes against Bristol and we wasted chance after chance and if we carry on in the same vein we are going to be on the end of a hiding and Forrest could be the ones handing it out.
The defence leaked 3 against Bristol and we look shaking at every set piece. I hope I’m wrong.
we’re overdue for a 3-0 win. Maybe we’ll put away our chances this week AND get back to clean sheets.
Have a feeling there’s goals in this game. Another score draw 2-2. I hope I’m wrong though!
Last time I predicted 1-1 we won so…..
Another test. Are we better than Forest?
More clinical finishing will see em all off!
I think our game suits away fixtures and can’t see forest scoring so going for an emphatic 3-0
Hello Forest, this is football, this is the Wolves.
Seems unreasonably to be concerned about a defence that has kept 4 clean sheets in 7 league games but the goals conceded against Bristol City and our vulnerability at set pieces does concern me but that set some of the attacking play on Tuesday was mouth watering and we should have claimed the 3 points comfortably. When Boly is fit you would have thought he would improve us in this area but its Miranda I would like to see him come in for.
Onto Forest not sure what to make of them made a decent start had a good win over Middlesbro but looked poor in a home defeat against Leeds but a win against us takes them above us. However, I think we might nick this one 1-0.
I’m hoping set pieces and defending have been prioritised in training this week. If so, it’s an away win for me.
Agreed Adrian
Bonatini to score

All Wolves fans in the Bridgford end give us a wave in the Trent End.

Looking to get back to winning ways, so I hope we can get the defensive system sorted.
I would start with the team that started against Bristol.
So hoping for 3 points to keep us within touching distance of the top.UTW.
My Grandson was born in Nottingham. His waster of a Dad is no longer on the scene, and he doesn’t follow the beaitiful game anyway. As he’s nearly 4, I have amp,e opportunity to make him a good and black follower – and since his soon to be step dad follows QPR, I haven’t much competition really. (My other son in law is a bluenose, but my grand daughters favourite colour is orange).
The first away game I ever went to was at the Forest game, when ol’ big head was their manager I think.
Anyway, enough of my history and family dealings. Away win to us
There’s going to be a fire ripping through that forest tomorrow… and all that will be left standing will be the Wolves !
Mocking them Florists 1

…………………………… ….up the wolves ………..
Saw my first FULL game on Tuesday via Wolves TV, enjoyed the possession football but thought we still lacked that final run and pass in the box. True we scored three and missed a lot more and the REF? certainly had his own agenda but we were let down by the woeful defending at set pieces which needs fixing, fast.
Forest on a roll at present so I think we could slip up here.
Taking nothing for granted, but hope we can continue the good form
Goals aplenty me thinks, but Wolves to fight on and get the winner after 95mins.
Up the Wolves
There’s certainly a feel-good factor about the team. Plus, I’m celebrating one more trip around the sun tomorrow. So there.
40 years ago today a huge talent in a tiny frame died at the tragically young age of just 29 years.

Ride a White Swan, dee dee dee da.
Only the good die young…….
Expect the pendulum to swing back from Tuesday to be tight at the back. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Never start on the bench as he seemed to be hitting the wall on Tuesday. Not surprised that lad has run himself into the ground, but he is the heart beat of the team. Cav to start again. They will nullify us first half but we get on top in second half and turn one of our three gilt edged chances into a goal. That should be enough.
Oh score prediction.
Can they stop Jota? Can anyone? Can we defend set pieces, though? Could be a high-scoring game.
Always love this fixture should be a good one
UTW
Having watched all the games live on Wolves TV we always look like scoring, except for Bright who always seems to take the wrong option and we defend well with Boly in the team, especially against big aggressive championship strikers who just bounce off Boly.
I would be tempted to play Batth and Boly together with Coady and use Bright as a super sub when the opposition defence is tiring.
I can see us getting a win here, if not all our own way.
A couple of thoughts;
Bright is no Norman Bell – he can’t change a game from the bench, so either start him or leave him out of the squad.
The sooner Costa comes back the sooner teams will not be able to focus on and target Jota – then watch us fly.
Miranda is steady. Unspectacular, but steady. Just what is required from defenders.
Forest/Warburton will be a footballing challenge rather than a Cardiff-like wrestling match, so us to sneak it.
I second Bedders’ tribute to the boy Bolan.
But another hero of my youth has also left us recently.
J. P. Donleavy.
Creator of one of the greatest fictional characters and one of the greatest books in the modern English (?) language.
IMO.
“God’s mercy

Ginger Man”
Norman Bell…now there’s a name I wish I was too young to recognise!
Back to the plot, I actually rate Warburton as a ruthless Warnock-style pain in the arse, who will have done his homework on us and consequently muddy the waters of the game to try and snatch a victory from the jaws of certain defeat.
I’m convinced (hoping) that Nuno will have made similar recce’s on forest and set our superior footballing side to counter them.
Can’t see anything but a win, it’s just a matter of how many. I wish Costa would make an appearance pdq though, the thought of him Jota and Bonatini is just mouth-watering.
UTW
There will come a game when it all comes together and we take all of our chances.
Hope it is today.
I hope we generate more than two chances today.
Hopefully we can get three points from this one to keep pressure up on teams above us.
No game is easy in this division and this one will be no different, think we are more of a force away from home so I have to go for a win. Always look forward to playing forest, Best 2 memories I have is seeing the late great Brian clough applauding the wolves fans as he disappeared down the tunnel at Wembley after his great Forrest team lost in the league cup final, as a young lad, it really made me feel proud to have some one of his stature acknowledge our great supporters and we clapped him all the way down the tunnel, 2nd memory, I was supposed to be a page boy at a cousins wedding, had a 3 piece suit made to measure(brown) but it was on a Saturday at 2.00 pm, we played Forrest at home, I moaned and groaned and said I wasn’t going, well I had too but was relegated to handing the hymn books out at the front of the church, needless to say by 2.15 I was off, ripped my new suit jacket climbing over the church railings making my escape, I stood on the south bank dressed in this brown three piece suit and it was heaving, all my school mates taking the piss, we won and the happy couple split up 2 years later, what would you expect from a Sandwell town fan, no commitment.
Feeling the same – that we have enough to overcome what will be a test against Warburton and his men.
Just keeping up near the top of the table feels so good too and within reach of that top spot.
COYW
Got a feeling he might rest Neves today.
Looked a bit out of sorts on Tuesday .
We will still have enough ability to see Forest off , with a clean sheet of course.
Anyone remember a FOREST V Wolves fixture on a freezing cold day decades ago which was played at Notts County’s ground after a fire at Forest’s ground? Seems like an eternity ago.
Another close game. Trust we have worked on defending set pieces. Going for a narrow win.1
To halt my predictable slide down the prediction league into mid table obscurity I’m hoping for a narrow away win
0-2 victory for the men in black (and old gold).
Wolves TV total shite paid a fiver to watch a blank screen beside the pool in Madeira. Zero chance of getting me fiver back. COUW.
Blame Notts Forest who provided the service.
I couldn’t view the first half. I found that setting the output to the lowest quality setting (360P) I viewed the complete second half OK until Forest turned off the signal when the teams where walking off.
I had no problem all game in Canada. Smoothest yet. Still a little difficult seeing the players’ faces but I assume that is just the nature of streaming live online.
I had 720p HD for the whole game here in Alberta, no issues at all.
Bet your jealous misses snipped the cable … nice romantic table by the pool , her one side looking lovely .. witley on the other side , tanned, nice shirt , stairing deeply and lovingly into the open laptop ,smack bang in the middle of the table with the wolves on it … dont know whats the matter with em eh !?
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
DIOGO JOTA. ANOTHER ONE!
Jota has just added another nought on the end of his valuation.
Excellent stuff!
Happy to be proved wrong (I predicted a draw). Well done lads.
I hope Bonatini and Vinagre aren’t crocked.
3 points 3 points 3 points….joint top…
Points points points..points loverly points
Loverly points..(to monty pythons spam song)
Yeaaaah….
First half we were pants mate. Great second half and atmosphere was electric.
I’m so happy I could play ‘Unknown Pleasures’ by Joy Division in full and still want to party!
Have a recommend. You know life is real good when “Unknown Pleasures” is the choice album to party to – couldn’t believe myself when that thought crossed my mind last week.
New me. New Wolves.
I’ve lost control again.
Not played well, apparently, but that lad Jota is a diamond. Brilliant result
As Tommo said on radio. Sometimes you just have to grind out wins. 17 from 8. Great. Not far off 20 from 10. So bang on track. Nuno will keep a lid on it. One game at a time.
Nice one Vladimir – Joy Division fans are everywhere!
Just got in. Cracking day. Great win. We play such great football these days and Jota is special. When Costa is back no team in this league will be able to cope with us.
Defence was great throughout, midfield was ours from the first whistle and in attack we always looked dangerous.
Great to see Ian the maths teacher and Sue.
OODCL
Just missed you in The Trent Navigation Inn. I got there about 5 mins after you left……… are you telling me something.
Great win mate. Great atmosphere.
Great result I was totally wrong…..and boy am I glad.
How’s Boni that was a red card challenge the Forest player took him out good and proper I don’t suppose he even got a yellow, hope he’s ok Nuno’s needs to speak up louder about protection for our players.
Great result well done everyone…!
Hands up anyone living in Nottingham or Newark, identify yourselves.
Oh forget it, there you are, the three folk with great big feck off grins that will last for weeks.
Have to be honest that was tne worst half of footy we’ve seen from these guys to date.
But, that second half was to die for, absolutely rectified every miss placed, miss timed and miss hit pass in the first half.
Whatever Uncle Nuno said to them at Half time we should bottle the stuff.
At the risk of being boring, all you guys that missed the scenes at the end of the game it’s criminal, it was out of this Universe, us fans just stayed in situ for a good 15 minutes singing our heads off, when we got outside the crowd had simply shifted to the carpark and were listening to the Banga boys hammering it out on the drums with us going quite mental.
Sunday will be nice won’t it Sue, Ian and Mark, make em eat shit folks.
I’m afraid it’s bad news about Boly guys and gals, hearing he’s out for a long time and he’s back in Portugal being treated, Hamstring injury.
Not so good, eh Stu. Any news on Bonatini and Vinagre after today’s game?
No buddy, from what I saw on Vinagre, he was standing there and just went down, I would say back problem, but he was half way down the pitch so pure speculation.
Bonatini, that one was a yellow to red for sure, he looked in pain, but Jota went down for the Clock at the end, bless him. Bonatini might be out for a couple but luckily we don’t need him for 7 days.
Thanks Stu. I can’t believe Vinagre is still only 18. Touch wood both he and Bonatini are ok.
Hope to catch up with you and Jen next Saturday.
There is nothing bad. Only good these days. I have been home and away on and off since 1979. The football we play is like on another planet. Tell me old mon and although he is fucked after 3 heart attacks and a stroke he still dines out on the fifties. Still follows the Wolves. Still follows us. God bless him.
Followed the match from work in London. I forecast a 2-1 win so I’m feeling smug. 17 points from 8 games, if replicated throughout the season, equals a points total of 97 and three quarter points! In any season that’s automatic promotion. And we haven’t really got into our stride yet. We haven’t.
I’m off to Stamford Bridge for the early kickoff tomorrow against Arsenal. I’m already dreaming of seeing Wolves back at the Bridge soon.
My eldest son Daryl watching the game on tv in Dubai with 2 week old Stanley who as you will see is wearing a Wolves shirt already!
Wonderful photograph.
Congrats to all.
BOG
A lovely pic!
Like the onesie.
Is our youngest fan wearing a Money Shop branded nappy?
It would be quite approproate.
And even more approPRIATE!
That is a great photo … congratulations to all of you .
