What do Dimitri Payet, Mesut Ozil and Dave Edwards have in common?

If an answer doesn’t immediately come to mind then you’re forgiven as there is a rather blatant gulf in class between our number four and the diminutive playmakers of West Ham and Arsenal.
Nonetheless, Deadly Dave now stars in a rendition of Billy Ray Cyrus’ ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ to match those belonging to his altogether more celebrated contemporaries.
It’s taken us eight years to come up with a song for the amiable Welshman and it’s fitting that a ditty has been found in this most dispiriting of seasons.
For all his endeavour, Edwards is an ordinary footballer and, whilst the dedication he shows on the pitch is fully deserving of appreciation from the terraces, it’s a tad depressing to think that we were hailing the trio of Dicko, Afobe and Sako during our last visit to the City Ground.
Still, we have long come to accept the reality of our situation under the M&M regime and the ordinariness of yesterday’s performance is therefore a far less bitter pill to swallow.
The first half was tedium on a par with the Rotherham game and, though we started the second half well, it was one way traffic after the break, with Carl Ikeme once again ensuring we escaped with a point in tact.
To put an optimist’s spin on things, Joe Mason put in his best performance for the club since signing and Dominic Iorfa was again imperious at centre back.
It was refreshing to hear Kenny Jackett talk in the week about building the team around Iorfa and I certainly hope that the board will support him in rejecting any offers for him from Premier League clubs.
Were there players of Iorfa’s ilk available throughout the rest of the team, I’d be looking to next season with optimism.
But the fact is that, even with the much missed Dicko and Graham to return, we are an average team and another season of mid table obscurity beckons without considerable investment being made.
I think we’ll all be glad to see the back of the 2015/2016 campaign and I just hope that KJ uses the summer to recharge his batters and refresh his approach because I’ve been totally bewildered by his tactics over the last few weeks. James Henry at number 10 and George Saville on the left is not a recipe for success at any level of football.
At least watching Nottingham Forest is a reminder that we are not the only set of supporters clinging to memories of better times.
Those times will come again, though when is anyone’s guess.

Thanks rasmin , another bore draw then ! I seem to remember kj talking about building a team around afobe not too long ago!!! I wish I could be more optimistic but let’s be honest, a half decent bid from the premier league and anybody will be sold to balance next years books. I personally hope kj won’t be at preseason. Utw
As yet I’ve seen and heard nothing of the game so I can’t comment on the performance, only the result. From your report Ben, it all seemed pretty underwhelming although a good goal from Mason must have lifted spirits a tad.
Suffice to say, I’d have taken a point before the game, so I can’t be too disappointed with a 1-1.
If there was a prize for ‘Nicest man in football’ Dangerous Dave Edwards would win it hands down in my opinion.
If there was a prize for top scorer of the season the same man would come close to winning that too.
That says a lot about the man but, unfortunately, a lot more about the team.
I would be the first to admit that Dave is a footballer of limited abilities – and, boy does he get reminded of it on a regular basis.
But the present Wolves team is crammed with players of limited ability. The difference being that Dave makes the most of the talent he was given. You don’t get International caps for being a useless footballer (Carlton Palmer excepted of course).
I don’t really know what point I’m trying to make here but I think it’s that, particularly in this season of drab mediocrity, we should appreciate any player who always gives 100% and is our second top scorer.
I am the first to admit that he will probably struggle if, no I mean when, we get promotion to the Premier League.
Him and most of the rest of the squad.
Celebrate him while we’ve got him.
A decent, loyal, hard working footballer.
They’re a dying breed.
“…we are an average team and another season of mid table obscurity beckons without considerable investment being made”
Nice piece Ben and that line in particular sums up why my own apathy level has been scaling new heights since early September. For my part, I would be happy to accept any level of investment but from an management team that cares. The spirit that such a change would engender within the club would feel like a bunch of new signings on its own.
I’d rather be relegated with a passionate owner of moderate wealth than float around in this backwater season after season.
As one of an ever smaller number of fans who still have faith in Jackett, but listening to the Radio WM commentary 2 out of the 3 pundits thought that Jackett won’t be at the helm next season.
It’s turgid stuff & hard to foresee anything close to a Prem challenge anytime soon.
You have to ask what, if any, plans the club have? The way we’re going at the present is nowhere fast.
Jackett is saying that we need forwards, but getting good ones is another thing. We had 3 last season, but this & next well all Wolves fans need great dollops of patience.
I think the primary objective is profit. Whilst staying solvent is no doubt a priority for any club, M&M have no problem hiding the fact that the football team is way down on the agenda. How does a relatively small club like ours justify paying any member of non-playing staff half a milion quid salary … we exist to prop up M&Ms portfolios … any decent football that occurs is purely coincidental.
Thanks for the kind feedback guys. Please don’t construe my comments as being a criticism of Dave Edwards, I think he’s a smashing professional and an important player for us. I’m just again alluding to the difference between this season’s team and last!
Hi Rasmin, I agree with virtually everything you have said.
I certainly didn’t construe your comments as being a criticism of DDE.
But I know he gets a lot of stick and I feel it my duty to defend the boy, don’t ask me why.
Because he gives 100% of his life to Wolves. That’s all we ask of them.
Thanks for the report.
I can remember commenting, very negatively and with many expletives, back at the beginning of September when the transfer window had closed without us making any meaningful additions to the squad. That was a squad that had narrowly missed out on the play-offs, at least in part due to a similar failure to invest in February. Since then we had lost Sako who had been a match winner and often conjured a couple of extra points out of nothing. This season we’ve lost Afobe.
I think we all know, and it’s been said so many times before that nothing will change until we get a new owner. If we don’t then the best I can see a continuation of the same turgid mediocrity we have suffered this season. At worse next season will be a fight against relegation.
Without new owners how long can we realistically expect Iorfa to stay or Hause? There doesn’t appear to be any pretence of building for the future. We know that they will be sold as soon as a decent offer comes in. It is possible that approach can be justified if it means that the money received is used to strengthen the squad but I know that won’t be the case. How I long for an owner to come in and secure the future of our most promising youngsters and to supplement them with some talent that actually strengthens the first team squad. I know that won’t happen until we get another owner.
I think Arsenal fans ought to try supporting Wolves. I can remember the Euro nights and I can remember the Bhattis. We’ve had a few disappointments over the years and perhaps mistakenly, I still regard our rightful place as being in the top echelon of English football. I don’t expect us to win the title or get into Europe but at least the HOPE that we might pull a surprise would be there. I would much rather travel to Old Trafford in hope than to Burton in expectation.
Oops. Sorry Ben , just realised your surname is rasmin !! No disrespect meant , mind you marnie is is almost my second name so you can get your own back ?
Another woeful display., with team selection and tactics yet again proving that the inept, hapless Mr Jacket is completely out of his depth. It also increasingly clear that he has great difficulty is remembering what he said just a few days earlier.
Forty five games into the season, Jacket still has no idea as to the best positions of his players. For many weeks our back four comprised [ from right to left ] Iorfa, DB, Hause and Docherty. We finished Saturday`s game with the same four defenders, but all playing in different positions. Suddenly the very average Henry, is reinvented as the answer to solve the season long central striking problem. The equally pedestrian Savile is now presented as a fast and tricky left winger, — while Byrne, on whom we spent over one million to fill this position, is left on the bench.
How could any team progress when the coach is so utterly confused and inconsistent ?
Six or so games ago Mr Jacket announced that the final games of the season would be used to give our promising young players the opportunity to show what they can do. What happened ? Where are they ? Bright has been given some time, a few others have sat and warmed the bench, but this grand plan has just not materialized. All we have seen is yet more permutations of the same old average and dispirited players who have toiled to zero effect for the past nine months, whilst McDonald the one skillful player on the books is completely left out in the cold for being a naughty boy or otherwise offending his Lordship.
The whole thing has become a farce. We are a laughing stock. Mr Jacket has been given more than a fair chance. He must go. Now.
I’m with you Mike, I think Hacketts just as bad as Moron and Poxey, I don’ think any of them gives a flying f–k about Wolves and even less about us.
I hope and pray we get new owners in soon and get a manager with Vision to project us into the future who will use the young talent we have and not restrict them to bench warming exercises.
I really hope someone will come in soon and put us out of our MISERY.
Hard to believe Morgan is having trouble selling the team. What billionaire wouldn’t want comments like this made about him?
Ditto for me Jackett is pants. I have never really believed he is top draw. He is a good fit for Morgan and Moxey and that is about it.
His last 2 years at Millwall were much the same as this season here – no direction, a high turn over of players and turdgid football. He will be gone before the end of the year but by then next season will already be in the bin. Even if he was given a decent budget to bring more players in i dont see him being able to do it without creating more of his trademark confusion and soured relationships. Ultimately it would still be another season somewhat shy of the play offs.
I agree with johnok that we need change of ownership rapidly as all the promising youngsters that we do have will be performing miracles for some other clubs.
Leicester City are a below average team. Look at what they have done.
i was just about to launch into a tirade of abuse towards a certain person on the blog, but what the hell. If I had to watch the Stripey folk each week I would piss about on someone else’s blog too.
Hey Ho.
What a season……..
Sorry mate. But I can’t help it if Brompton Rovers play in stripes.
1 more game till the unveiling of the Prediction league champion of 2015/16
Any guesses?????
Let’s play Spot the Winner.
Probably Marin Wolf, or even Wolf in Devon. But then again we may not find out until after Saturday’s result. Talking about Saturday, that has to be a home win as Sheff Wed will only field a weakened side as the match result is irrelevent to them now and they will not chance injuries before the play offs.
Don’t forget Kenny will also be fielding a weakened team, as he does every match!
I listened to the pre match WM programme on Saturday. Kenny spoke about Wolves and Forest underperforming this year and “they” would both be expected to challenge for promotion next year. I thought nothing of this at the time but later reflected on the reference to “they” not we or us. He is on his bike I reckon.
Well spotted mate …….. I am sure you are right ……. hopefully.
Good to hear the good news Mark. Terry and Julie dont need no friends they have got Waterloo road sunset.
Concidering we are almost in shreds then this was a fair result …draw experts R us..
Role on next season ..Role on new owners ..Role on new manager..
I was very seriously wondering what the real odds are that a new owners will truely materialise in the close season.
The answer my friends is def blowing in the wind….
I’m afraid..very afraid…
Never mind new owners are you coming to the last match and more importantly are you coming for a couple of beers after the game.
You know it makes sense.
Don’t ask me, I just pressed enter, then my whole world turned upside down.
With regard to spot the winner, Stu baby, its gotta be the dwarf in the front
Are you standing on a box Clive?
All those new bloggers who are going to meet you on Saturday are in for such a shock, they think your normal. 🙂
Shit, that’s not very good is it, I’ll have the PC police after me again.
No offence intended to all you not normal people….
Stop caling me a dwarf, besides I am not in front.
I’m coming at 10am to the Park Hotel – I’m a pre match attendee…I trust that there will be few bloggers present before the match as apposed to after ..
I’m going back straight away at warp speed for family reasons…
I will be there mate. I am staying there Saturday night too so I will have a few for you.
As you all know I do not start many posts on the blog but as it stands I need to vent. Lets start with that old question “How do you make a small fortune out of a football club?” Answer start with a big one.
So it’s reality check time, We are up for sale but what do we have to offer a new owner? We have a very proud history but unfortunately non of it is recent. So any new owner will have to buy a new team to slot in around academy upstarts, now we all know the buying players because you can does not work ask any of the big spenders in the premiership.
So first off we need a football man in charge of recruitment that is a given for me if we don’t get the right players it’s never going to work. We then need a manager with some premiership experience now I’m not going to select a few names and stick a pin in them but a name who has been there.
Now this should come as no surprise, we he she them they that corporation who ever they may be have to remove the wage cap, now there are lots of ways to do this so whoever they maybe don’t try to fob us off, all of us were here before you and will most likely be here after you have long gone.
Here is a simple example “Hello Mr Decent Footballer, do you want to come and play for one of the oldest and greatest clubs ?” Yes please. “How much are you earning?” Mega bucks. “Sorry we don’t pay that much” OK I’ll go somewhere else that does. Not pretty reading is it.
You can all add your thoughts and ideas but I don’t see a rosey future, any time soon.
I agree with most of what you say but would add this. I feel Wolves would be a great purchase for budding club owners.
Top class academy up and running and chok full of really promising talent.
30,000+ capacity ground and enough fans to fill it and then some should we have a reasonably successful team.
No debts.
These things take time, but I would be very surprised if we weren’t one of the first of the current up-for-sale clubs to find their new, prospective saviour.
Hi Wolfstroker.
Is our academy chock full of really promising talent?
How have they fared in their respective leagues / cup competitions this year?
Do you feel that it needs to be a football man or a local? Sheikh / Large Corporation plaything will only be interested in the premiership, at least to my way of thinking.
A local football man with some money and an idea or ten looking forward would be ideal, But we will have to take what we are given because in reality we can’t influence the outcome.
I agree with most of what you say but would add this. I feel Wolves would be a great purchase for budding club owners.

Definitely a man with a strong point of view there eh what
I didn’t quite catch what you were saying can you repeat the comment please?
I think there’s an echo on the site Wolfstroker…
I think there’s an echo on the site Wolfstroker…
Roll on the end of next season.
Lee Evans about to sign for Bradford . WHY?
Because Bradford are a club going forward. They are more progressive than we are , they will finish higher in the Championship next season when they come up this season, their crowds will overtake ours. What a reflection of Jackett , The Scouser and Dom Joly
I really hope you are seriously wrong on that one. Why he was sent on loan in the first place defies logic. I’m not surprised that Bradford would like to buy him judging by the plaudits he gets on the various Bradford blogs.
Interesting stats since the turn of the year. Played 19 won 3 drawn 9 lost 7 = 18 points. Repeat that over a season and you get a serious relegation battle.
Good point. Take our 2015 stats at this date last season, repeat over a whole season, and you get top two! We all know the different reasons for the turnaround. Jackett hasn’t been supported on transfers, injuries have been enormous, but Jackett has lost all confidence and is seriously rattled. The maximum amount of change is needed next season but if nothing else we need a need a new head coach. Leicester’s unbelievable example of an average team being coached/inspired/motivated is simply too compelling to ignore.
I want Leicester to win at least one of their remaining matches then they can say that they did it on their own. As it stands in the prem has any other team only lost 3 in a season?
Big Announcement expected before Saturdas match…..
Is Moxey putting the price of the pies up for ‘footballing reasons’?
Prediction League results?
In my business – mortgages and protection – you get to meet all sorts. Here is a true story.
About 10 years ago I saw this chap who despite working in a pie factory fancied himself as a bit of a financial whizz-kid. He lived in a small 2 bed mid-terraced house in a not very nice part of town which was worth about £120,000. He had a mortgage of £40,000. He had no loans and no credit cards seeing all such things as evil. He drove a battered old Vauxhall. He didn’t want to do anything except stay where he was and get rid of his mortgage as soon as possible. He didn’t do holidays or anything even remotely exciting.
Quite by chance a few days later I saw his next door neighbour – identical house and value – and coincidentally he also owed £40,000 on his mortgage. He drove a battered old Ford. Unlike the first chap though he had ambition and wanted to borrow an extra £30,000 on his mortgage to do up and extend his house.
Now I have seen both these chaps every 2 years since in order to review their finances etc. Last week I saw them both again.
The first chap has now paid off his mortgage and his house is now worth £180,000. The area he lives in has gone downhill though over the past 10 years and his neighbours are now largely immigrants, crooks and drug dealers. He still thinks he is clever though as his mortgage has been paid off. He is still driving the same old Vauxhall. He is still single.
The second chap did up his house all them years ago and sold it for a big profit before moving to a house worth £220,000. He borrowed against that and bought a second house which he rented out with the profit effectively subsidising his main mortgage. He moved twice more, each time increasing his borrowing and moving upmarket. He has just sold his house and is in the process of buying a 5 bed detached house in a lovely sought-after area for £500,000. He has a mortgage of £80,000 left having sold his rental property for a big profit. His neighbours are doctors, solicitors and bank managers and he drives a brand new Audi Q5. He now has 3 children and his wife is pretty stunning too!
The first chap is called – and I kid you not – Mr Moxey. The second chap is called Mr Swansea/Stoke/Southampton/Bournemouth/West Ham (Ok I made that bit up!).
The moral of this story? Being tight-fisted, not spending money, not enjoying yourself and having no dreams other than to stay as you are is NOT good financial management. On the other hand having some ambition, some flair, some courage and craving improvement in a properly managed way IS sound financial management.

Given that a doc is basically a drug dealer, and a banker’s a legalised crook I’d rather have the first guy’s neighbours – give me immigrants over solicitors any day!
Other than that, yeah I guess the second guy did better.
Unfortunately in a football world where more and more clubs are playthings of people who can afford to throw bucketloads of money around, ‘properly managed improvement’ may well result in stagnation if the person backing the club is ‘only’ a multi-millionaire.
I’m only saying, like….
Whenever Iv’e had a decent nod, I have gone straight to the rumours site to see this bloke’s comment’s. If he’s saying the same as my mate then I take it as done, he’s not been wrong so far.
He’s got a reliable source in the Mol, he’s now saying everything my mate said a few weeks back, so hopefully not much longer before the thing starts to unravel. Let’s hope it moves in a positive direction, starting with KJ on Saturday.

2/ 3 weeks all will be revealed.
Morgan will speak, new owner or Morgan is back.
Advanced talks, but its all or nothing.
There is one and only one serious bid,
Morgan has a big decision to make.
It’s 50-50 he doesn’t really want to sell, but if he stays it will be a major investment
.
Leicester has wetted his appetite.
He wants to be loved.
Should he sack moxey thelwell and Jackett what would we think.
Have been told he has spoke at length to Paul Ince and Ian Rush as advisors.

Leicester has wetted his appetite.
He wants to be loved.
Should he sack moxey thelwell and Jackett what would we think.
Have been told he has spoke at length to Paul Ince and Ian Rush as advisors.
This was his post last night……

2/ 3 weeks all will be revealed.
Morgan will speak, new owner or Morgan is back.
Advanced talks, but its all or nothing.
There is one and only one serious bid,
Morgan has a big decision to make.

This is last nights post from the reliable source off the Rumours site
When my mate tells me anything I go straight to their site and If he’s saying the same, I
know then it’s gonna happen.
So fingers crossed, it should start to unravel in a couple of weeks, then I hope KJ is done next Saturday.
My glass is filling up.:-)

Yeh and last year we beat Millwall 4-2 at the Golden Palace with 2 Dicko goals, Sako & EBL also doing what none of the current squad seem capable of doing.
We missed the playoffs to the promised land on goal difference.
Could we have kept Sako? I’d say yes but we would’ve had to remove the wage cap.
Whoever it was at the club was too cautious & we lost a team who could’ve took us to glory.
What’s so galling is that Jackett & Gallen had built a team good enough to get us up there with the best in the division.
All that was needed was for someone in charge to back that potential, buy Andre Gray or Jordan Rhodes to supplement what was there as well as keep Afobe.
If I was Jackett or Gallen I’d be apoplectic now. The Club have failed to capitalise on momentum & potential. What we have now is ‘We’re fucking bored’ & the usual cries for a new messiah to do what Jackett did already.
To me it’s the desire of the people in charge of the Club who lack ambition & desire to be ever in the never never land of Leicster City right now.
I’m extremely unhappy that the people in charge of our club have got no dreams or ambition.
We’ll never know why they singularly failed to execute the vision & plan they had when Jackett was appointed.
Morgan backed McCarthy before when we just missed the playoffs & we won the league next season. But clearly the bottle & the ambition went elsewhere this time around.
Yeah & this time last year we beat Millwall 4-2 with 2 Dicko goals,& EBL & Sako doing what none of the current squad seem capable of doing.
We missed the playoffs on goal difference.
Could we have kept Sako? I’d say yes but we’d have had to bust the wage cap.
All we had to do was buy an Andre Gray or a Jordan Rhodes to supplement what we had & we’d have had a team as good as any in this division, keeping Afobe as well.
Instead the Owner or the board got cold feet and failed to back the team, the fans and Jackett.
So what we get are a load of 0-0 draws, ‘we’re fucking bored’ and calls for a new Messiah to make it all good again. Jackett & Gallen had already built the side who could’ve took us to the never never land.
If I was Jackett I’d be apoplectic now because the cautious approach of the bored has tore up the vision someone had when Jackett was appointed.
My anger & angst is completely directed at the board because they failed to capitalise on a very promising position indeed.
I don’t understand why Jackett leaves out McDonald though but it’s all grist to the mill now. We’ve got to go again, build again. But with no overarching plan or desire to make it like Leicster, turn Wolves into Foxes. Then it don’t matter who’s in the dugout.

Big Announcement expected before Saturdays match.
Most likely that there’s still a lot of season tickets for next year available at bargain prices, and the price of pies will be pegged until Christmas (this latter initiative funded by The Money Shop).
God help us if Morgan is getting his advice from Ince and Rush – seems to have moved on from talking to Jan Molby in a pub in Chester, but these two don’t have a track record in club organisation or management for that matter.
The maxim in business is to know what you don’t know, and then employ someone who does know to cover your blind spots. First of all he relies on Moxey, then a bunch of former Liverpool players. Had he taken his soundings from Graham Souness, Alex Ferguson, or even Kenny Dalgleish, he would have been given a clear sense of direction. Instead our strategy can be summed up as ‘fudge and muddle’.
Since the early 80’s we’ve been all over the shop and I’ve learnt to be not too optimistic as we’ve become the new Manchester City (who used to be the club guaranteed to screw things up ‘because we’re Citeh’ – how times change). Given that Bolton were on the market for four years and Villa still haven’t found a buyer after three years, I can’t say I’m brim full of hope that things will change that rapidly. Let’s hope I’m wrong, but having been fortunate enough to experience the good times in the 50’s I’m wondering whether I will ever be lucky enough to see the Wanderers back in the Premiership and secure again.
Thomas,
Any chance of deleting the extras, if certain stripy fans get on they will think it’s christmas.
Everytime I read this site I get a feeling of deja vu, weird!!!
On the ‘its a funny old world’ theme………………………….
1 how weird would it be if Brighton join Burnley in the automatic promotion places as then we could claim to have not been beaten by either of them in the 4 games against them this season (W1 D3 L0)?
2 remember the last game of the 2006/7 season, just 9 years ago, when under Super Mick and inspired by Keogh and Kightly we won 4-1 away at Leicester to confirm our place in the play-offs – and just look what has happened to us and them in just 9 short years since!
Altogether now (in the voice of Blakey from On The Buses) – I hate you Morgan!
There is a Wolves team that is top of the league, this year Wolves may even win the speedway elite league.

This Alzheimer’s is a bugger
I’ m Really p’d off today, I left two tickets for the Wolves last game of the season on Saturday on my dashboard, some lowlife smashed my window and left two more…..
Maybe there will be a raffle at Wolves end-of-season dinner? First prize, a season ticket. Second prize? You guessed right. Two season tickets.
I don’t think Kenny will be at the dinner as Morgan doesn’t beat about the bush when it comes to decisions. I can’t see an announcement before the final match, but I’m hoping by next Monday. I’m also hoping there will be multiple casualties, like Moxey and Thelwell. It will be appropriate straight after another bore-draw. Let’s get Wednesday out of the way before we move onto Monday!
The Wolves spin Doctors have started already, trying to take our mind off the pain of it all with the Magic Williamson pill.
I don’t think so, another placebo methinks. Just another treatment table warmer.

I would like to be the first on our blog to offer heartfelt congratulations to Leicester City.
What they have done beggars belief, sticks two fingers up at the “established” four or five stupidly rich clubs, and gives us ALL hope that whither they have gone, so can we.
Don’t know if any Leicester fans read this blog, but if you do, well done, enjoy your celebrations.
And, of course,
FOwb
And don’t forget Burnley and your all time favourite, Wardinho.
And here’s a thought for a summer signing:
John Terry
I’d rather sign Twinkle who sang about Terry.
Jesus Christ, how old are you? Twinkle.
Come on then, let’s start a thread.

15 years old, met this girl at the youth club, my good looking mate waltzed in an nicked her.
Saw her years later, Thank Feck that was a close one, butt ugly and a trail of kids.
He’s a fat balding Wolves fan, married a nice girl though.
Only the Lonely Roy Orbison.
Well it feels bloody lonely supporting the Wolves these days
John Leyton – “Johnny Remember Me”.
Wild Thing – The Troggs. Singer Reg Presley lives in a village not far from me now.
Cos I Luv You – Slade.
Well I am a tad younger than some of you! I did say SOME.
Trini Lopez – If I Had A Hammer ( bought at Woolworths in Enfield)
P.S. Coz I Luv Yoo – bloody hell I was 15 then, late 1971.
Selling England by the pound – early Genesis young and pretentious PG.
Moxey’s business theme tune.
I hear Dennis Irwin is still a free agent, too.
Yep Leicester shows what a good manager can do….fantastic..
Quite amazing ..Mr Sherwood please note..
Yes very well done Leicester, kept me interested in footy all season. And we’ll done to burnley securing promotion with another Sam vokes winner. That name rings a bell. Utw

Six and eight pence they were, down my way.
So it appears that Bournemouth broke the FFP rules (by some considerable distance) and are now faced with a paltry fine of 7.6 million. On the other hand, they are looking at recouping a lot more than that from next years SKY deal. No doubt Moxey would say that they were acting irresponsibly. Personally I’d say they were acting with a modicum of ambition – something sadly lacking in the higher echelons at Molineux these days.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/03/bournemouth-fined-last-season-ffp
Yeah, they were being real clever. Unless they hadn’t made it up.
Isn’t it a matter of weighing the benefits against the risks ? If you have sufficient financial backing then risking 38 million against a potential 100 million plus is surely a risk worth taking.
May 3rd 2018. WOLVES CROWNED AS PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS. Sorry. Forgot my medication again. Other unlikely events include: a gang of stray giraffes on the lose in Gornal, the Mander House being listed as a tourist attraction, the pies at Molineux less than a quid, Geoffrey Boycott comes out of retirement and hits 260 not out against the Aussies in a 20-20 international, Keith Richard out the Stones takes up the 800 meters and wins bronze at the Olympics, Westlife produce a record that is NOT fucking annoying and we get a blazing hot summer which lasts to October. Oh and Saturday we will be treated to a feast of entertainment and win 8-7.
I was going to apologise for repeating myself so profusely earlier in the blog. They’ll all think I’m such a numpty, I feared. Then, as I read further, my fears and self-deprecation vanished as I realised that several of my fellows on here share my failures.
Thank you fellow numpties.
F or most of us I believe we are glad it is nearly over.

P.S. arriving about 11am Saturday at the Park View – I will be the ridiculously handsome good looking well dressed one, about 35, wearing a red carnation standing under the clock. Then again apart from the arrival time I could be doing a Moxey and lying through my teeth!
See you there mate. I will then teach you the fine art of left liners (not a poem). Firstly, yours is crap, and secondly, I started it so stop copying.
Joking aside, be good to meet you, and as your left liner says, I shall certainly buy you a beer.

Too much like thinking.
I’m off to the fridge for another Karbach Brewery Rodeo Clown double IPA.

Bring a bottle over for me mate. Looking forward to catching up again, how long has it been?
Do as you will with Morgan and Moxey Clive, but leave my Kenny alone. I’ll protect him with every fibre of my being.
Iv’e met him before, so if he’s there before me here’s a photo of him, I mean we don’t want any stripy fans sneaking in…..
Ah, I remember Catweazle.
Or as Brompton might say:

Or is it Albion’s latest ‘young and hungry’ recruit?
Think I’ll start a new craze called right liners which although much more difficult is more on a level with the combined intelligence on this blog I feel. Just need a shedload of words that end in vowels.
P.S. congratulations to Leicester – the first team ever to win the league title on penalties. Ooh, controversial!
“Spillers were going to back Wolves but thought that ‘Winalot’ on their shirts was not appropriate”…
Moxey wanted Warburton’s on the shirts because he thought they had a bread named after him, arrogant twat.
Then he realised it said….
“Thick Cut”
The old ones are ………………..
Hi Steve
Do you know how many of us will be at Park View on Friday?
If we want to eat there it would be a good idea to book a table because they can be quite busy.
There’s Clive, you, me and the PMDG’er.
Can you think of anyone else?
I am unsure my friend as good old Mr S Alves MBE organised it all on his lonesome. I was not intending to dine on Friday but just pop in for a few sherberts. I am staying at my Bro’s in Low Hill that evening (he does not know it yet) but have booked a room in A Parkview for Saturday.
Am so looking forward to this one – I understand Stu has also made sure of the weather!
Doog,
There was only 1 or 2 people indicated they were interested in a Friday night meal so I just targetted the Saturday one,
Timings would be awkward to pin down for people arriving, so you guys would be best just boking a table for whoever knows they are staying Friday.
See you all on Saturday table booked for 7pm sit down.
Stu
Come 7pm I think it will be lie down !!!
Couldn’t agree more. I intend to pop down on Friday for a couple, so please consider coming down too.
Wolves official site has stated “although there are a few players out of contract this season no contracts will sorted out until after next week”.
Also making headlines is the McDonald affair, it won’t be decided yet either.
Through both pieces it is We haven’t decided and we don’t know who’s going, this gives me hope that flaccid Ken is going and they are waiting for the new man / or woman.
http://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2016/05/04/no-call-on-kevin-mcdonalds-wolves-future/
….Woman…..Katherine Jenkins would get my vote and is well qualified…..she knows nothing about football but hey, with her attributes, who cares?
Definitely a man of taste, now that’s one good looking woman, and apparently she’s a singer too.
Yes she has a fine set of lungs…………..
Plus she is, like myself, Welsh 🙂
Singer?. Shit I obviously heard wrong before…….. now that explains the look I got.
Can a 5000-1 outsider go all the way? Leicester City did. Trump that!
Oops, I think someone might!!
A Happy Star Wars Day to all our readers.
If anyone reading this is of the stripy persuasion, ask an adult to explain.
See y’all soon
FO wb
When you arriving mate?
I’ve just face timed him and he’s at the airport waiting for his flight . Guess he’s in uk ce soir. See you on sat mate ….
Dear KJ ..enjoy your extended break soon..Kevin McDonald send his best wishes…
Ex Wolves players every where getting promoted, at Burnley, Wigan and Cheltham and others on the verge
What does that say about our club or should I say the arse holes ruining our club….. do know what good luck to them all.
Brompto
I land at Heathrow at 7.00 am Thursday
I am booked in at PVH for five nights

Stu

Whatever happens this weekend or in the close season, this is a reminder of happy times down Molineux way.
We’re The North Bank,
We’re The North Bank
We’re The North Bank Molineux.
Bloggers Polo Shirts on Saturday for the photo shoot?
Do you get a royalty cheque every time they’re worn?
Was that royalty or reality check.
Once a year Mark …… bit like something else I get!
It’s midday and I have just seen Clive off from Chez DOOGooder after a very pleasant
chat over a cuppa tea and a sarny.
He’s heading North East.
Look out Wolverhampton!
I have a dilemma – just been prescribed a 5 day course of anti-biotics with strict instructions not to drink alcohol during the 5 days I am taking them or for three days after. Now on Saturday I was planning on having the odd Campari & Soda at the Bloggers Ball Bash and then on Monday we are off on our holidays flying to Cuba for 12 days (laughably I made sure the holiday was after the last game of the season and that we’d be back in time for the Play-Off final!) where it would be fairly reasonable to expect I would have the occasional drink.
What to do?
Yes – I will be commencing my course of anti-biotics on Saturday. Saturday 21 May that is!
You won’t need them by then mate, The Bloggers’ BallBash is guaranteed to cure anything…
…Except hangovers.
i won’t be drinking out of your glass then, just got rid of my AIDS, don’t want that again.
One consolation, if youv’e been prescribed Erythromycin the effects are the same, both cause a very dodgy bottom.
One life, live it.
As I have not started my medication yet (for footballing reasons) I am obviously feeling a bit delirious as I think the following will all happen before too long;
1 there will be an announcement on Friday that we have new owners, a British/Irish consortium that includes Robbie Keane, Robert Plant and Steve Bull, who say they want to see Wolves in the Premier League within 12 months and will spare no expense in getting there
2 Moxey is replaced with immediate effect by someone who tells the truth, understands how to communicate, knows how to manage money effectively and how to run a football club effectively.
3 Thelwell is replaced with immediate effect by no-one as it will be the new manager and his scouting network who has sole say in who we buy
4 Jackett is replaced with immediate effect by one of the De Boer brothers assisted by Denis Bergkamp and they promise to bring an exciting, attacking Dutch style of football to help restore the club to its former glories of the 1950’s
5 Money Shop is ditched as shirt sponsor
6 the new home kit will be old gold rather than orange and will include the Wolverhampton city crest on the shirts
7 the new away kit will be all white with old gold and black trim
8 within 3 weeks the new management backed by the new owners have spent £25m signing 8 players including a goalkeeper for £2m (Martinez from Arsenal), a centre back for £5m (Lindelhof from Benfica), a left back (Boilesen free transfer from Ajax), a creative midfielder (Rosicky free transfer from Arsenal), a right winger (not sure yet but he’s bloody good and cost £5m), two strikers (Milik from Ajax for £7m and Dembele from Fulham for £6m) plus Bakary Sako on a season long loan – as he hasn’t settled in London – with a view to a permanent signing at the end of the season.
9 no players are sold – apart from the ones we want to get rid of e.g Sigurdason etc – and we don’t sell Iorfa or Hause or McDonald.
10 The Liquidator is restored to be our ‘running out to’ music at Molineux.
Nurse? Nurse? is it time yet?
You really need to start the pills Bedford. Dreams like that can become addictive. And contagious.
Wake up Mr Bedford Wolf.
You’ve been having a bad dream.
You thought that you were a Wolves supporter who had just been through a seasonus horribilus.
But it’s alright now.
…Nurse Moxey is here to give you your bedbath.
Sounds bloody good to me Brompto, love the lateral thinking, also some great thinking out the box, Dutch style footy, dare we dream. I’d settle for football but you have my vote.
You do mean Bedford don’t you …or am I cracking up …
Typo…. Well spotted, must have been thinking of him. Ah sweet.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!,
11. Clive finally gets the score right and we smash Wednesday 5-1 with McDonald setting up all five.
12. We use all three substitutions!
P.S. OK I know I am drifting off into the realms of fantasy, as Capt Mainwaring used to say, with that last one.
To everyone have a good time at the bloggers ball.
P.S. Liverpool showed the Europeans what English play is like!!!
