What a difference a win makes.
From irrational fears about an immediate return to obscurity, we now find ourselves just four points behind Everton in 6th.

Any victory would have done but to beat a Chelsea side who’ve only tasted defeat once all season having gone a goal down made it feel infinitely more significant.
There was also the bonus ball of Jota’s goal, which could just be the shot in the arm last season’s top scorer needs to solve this team’s biggest problem.
I feel like we can now approach this game much differently in the wake of Wednesday and really shift the pressure onto the home side.

Newcastle
The Toon have snuck up the table with three wins and a draw from their last five matches and a very useful point at Goodison Park in the week shows they’re highly competitive.
You wouldn’t expect less from a Rafa Benitez side and the Spaniard continues to defy the odds given the meagre backing he’s afforded by the league’s most beloved owner.
Perhaps their most notable signing was Salomon Rondon and the big forward now has 4 Premier League goals, which has coincided with their surge out of the drop zone.

Kenedy also arrived on loan from Chelsea, Ki was signed on a free from Swansea and a modest outlay secured Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez, who’ve both been important performers.
Their squad still looks light but given that Rafa still managed to get them a 10th place finish last time out, you wouldn’t bet the house against a repeat.
Wolves
Someone is going to end up very disappointed this weekend, assuming that Ruben Neves is immediately reinstated to the team.

If the above plays out, Ryan Bennett would be the fall guy, which is tough given his exploits in midweek. But I suspect Saiss might get his run in the team now after two impressive outings himself.
I don’t see the sense in changing any of the front three who should all be brimming with confidence after key contributions against Chelsea.
The poll
[interaction id=”5c0adc647792ca8416bca8f5″]Predictions
There’s a new leader in the Prediction League table with Wolvo Dave sharing the top score with vicsmith on 19 points from 15 predictions.
As always if you’d like to join in simply leave your prediction in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

I fancy us on Sunday.
As always it will probably be a chess match against Benitez but I think we’re well suited to such contests. Even Sarri noted we’re a ‘very tactical side’ prior to Wednesday’s game.
The team should be full of confidence and we’ve got plenty in reserve if things aren’t going to plan.
First goal is key – as always I suppose – but even more so at St. James’ Park.
Correction, Thomas; Sarri noted we we “are a very TECHNICAL team” prior to the Chelsea game.
Thanks for your continued valued work on this Blog.
Same side to start as Sunday, Neves to come on at half time in place of Moutinho.
I’ve got my binoculars ready for the game, the stand is so high you get altitude sickness!!
Should have been same side as Wednesday…….numpty!
Or you could have changed ‘as’ to ‘on’ and that would have worked. See you tomorrow.
I see a nice 3 points here.
Nice “home” game for you tomorrow Steve, you can have a nice lie in!!
Yawn……… good morning, just got up and will get ready to get to the ground in 4 hrs time lol.
Will be in the Strawberry from 1500 hrs if anyone is interested.
The toon on a Sunday afternoon is probably the equivalent of a Friday night out in most places. It may include Kevin Keegan taking his pet dog, Trevor for a walk along the Tyne pre match. Unfortunately for Trevor it doesn’t mean anything. If he thought he was going to get away with a laid back Sunday afternoon he didn’t plan for a TV crew from Channel 4 filming a new series of Byker Grove . In it a chap on a bike delivering newspapers said ‘Ashley is a fat bastard and I think he needs to sell up like”. It’s great because we all know Newcastle have always had crowds of 58000. Despite me being there in 1991 when Tim Steel got the winner in front of 21000 ? Any way Rafa will be scratching his head like Gazza after 17 pints of Stella. Won’t be enough as WWFC go through the gears and win 3-1.
Just looked up the crowd. September 1991. 20195. So all this bollocks about 55000 fans turning up every week is just that.bollocks. only when king kev arrived on the scene did the Geordies suddenly flock to the ground. That day I went there were 2000 wolves so that leaves 18000 geordies.don’t be fooled by the hype.
I’ll go with Loaves team, but failing that it’s Moutinho to the bench for me.
Agreed Wight.
Moutinho ran his socks off on Wednesday night like all the lads and as the elder statesman deserves a rest of some sort maybe start the game and get subbed at halftime depending on how the game is panning out?
COMBs!
Back to winning ways against a top team; there’s something in a players physce that makes that happen. Now a good away trip on Sunday; l honestly believe the confidence will be brimming over and we’ll take all the points. Not sure if MGW will start but I’m sure he’ll get some time on the park.
First of all I am well shocked to be joint top of the Pred! So back to business and to knock vicsmith to a definite second place (sorry vic!), this has got goals this one and there is no shame in bringing a point back to sunny Wolvo ?? ?…..
Well done Dave, but if you want to win this you have got to ditch the draws, they are hard to predict, best of luck and have a great Christmas.
You’ve gotta take a risk though Witley, while everyone else is going for all out wins or losses the odd draw may just pop up and it may just be the week I’ve predicted it, appreciate your comments though mate…….have a great Xmas and New Year!
I deserve to get knocked off the top after showing no faith in the team against Chelski. I have to start thinking about the fact that we do well against top teams and not so well against weaker ones – which is going to put me in a quandary this week !! I shall lie down and ponder for a few hours before tossing the dice. Total bloody guess work this week. Well Done wolvo.
This week is a complete guess given our recent form!! All the very best vic, up the Wolves!!!
I think we can get something at Newcastle, having said that if we can match our second half performance against Chelsea we could Nick it.
2-1 to me b abbies.
Wolves to come good here, two or three permutations in team selection will get the job done. Come on you mighty Wolves.
First day of the Nineties.
First week in Texas for Clive.
$90.00 phone bill as I was being given the news that a certain Mr. Bull had scored all four at St James Park.
Santa suits, chartered planes, ten million Wolves fans behind the goal.
Unbelievable.
Similar scenes on Sunday, with five goals this time for the boys in Old Gold and Black.
The same starting eleven as Wednesday should be used, and Bennett should be given the freedom of the city, not dropped, for “that tackle!”
If it aye broke, dough fix it.
Wish I was making the trip, if only for one of Mrs Brompto’s famous pies afterwards.
Easy three points, setting us up nicely for revenge against cheatmouth, and then being the first team to beat Liverfool this season.
It’s another win for us. Neves to come on as substitute.
I would bring in Neves for Moutinho as Moutinho expended a lot of energy against Chelsea and he is not that young. It’s more a case of resting him rather than dropping him. Saiss played very well but he nearly got a second yellow and sometimes he can be a liability, but would keep him in the team. Bennett has to keep his place, he was awesome. I think Wolves will eventually get the first goal and then score a second, very late in the game. Onwards and upwards!
Looking forward to a night on the piss in the toon on Saturday followed by the game on Sunday. Unfortunately my best mate who is a geordie can’t make this one as he’s currently in Afghan doing his bit but I know he’s watching.
He’s told me to let you all know he’s expecting a 2-0 home win, I told him he’s in dreamland. Wolves looked full of confidence and fight against Chelsea and I think you’ll see us at our best against the magpies.
Jota to score for the second game in a row, Neves to score on his introduction back into the side.
Back to back wins for wolves, that’ll do nicely.
We should be full of confidence but need to leave Saiss in midfield. Could be interesting if Shelvey plays but going to predict a draw 1-1
This is a tough one to call because we’re better then Newcastle but they are the worst kind of team to play – they’ll sit deep and restrict our chances to play exciting football. Can’t see them rolling over and letting us walk it.
Newcastle have enjoyed improved form of late and will fancy turning us over after our heroics on Wednesday night. We did have a little slice of luck with regards to the brilliant last ditch Boly tackle which could well have been deemed a penalty by the pedantic Referee. That said we made our own luck by the relentless pressing and attack minded rubs when we did have the ball. Same starting 11 for me, Bennett has had his annual one game drop and again come back stronger. Same energy and press please with fresh legs in Neves/Donck-Cav to come on second half. Benitez is a clever manager so I reckon a hardfought draw with MGW due a goal for his recent efforts.
This will be tougher than Newcastle’s position may imply. They want to climb up, and let’s face it, they’d be looking at us as an opportunity for some precious points. But I think that will suit our style, and provided Wolves show up with the same grit and determination they possess against top six teams, this one should belong to us.
Rough patch over. Go get them boys!
Go Wolves!
I was pleased when mgw started against Chelsea as he deserved it but I don’t think Nuno will start him tomorrow, there are plenty of games coming up for him but he is only 18 and I think we will try to squeeze another hour out of mautino , then bring mgw on , by the end of the season he could be one of the first names on the team sheet , either way though the bench should offer some good options, suddenly we look like having a bit of depth to the squad!
I’m going for a clean sheet and a Neves wonder goal
Utw
Now that Nuno has proved there was such a thing as Plan B, I wonder if it will become Plan A. In other words, bit more concentration in midfield and tighter up front. I just hope we pick the right plan for the night and win (’cause that’s what I am predicting). Going for a slender win.
Think it is about time we did not concede a goal and surely we will not concede to that fat Rondon ? . Suppose they will pleased that it looks like eventually they will get taken over and another sleeping giant will be woken up.
Nuno should keep the same team .It was compact and strong and we won the match against a top team .Neves being on the bench a bit of a wake up call for him as well as he has not been at his best .Heaven knows where he has left his hooting boots this year .
Maybe too many late nights has affected his game, ‘night owling’??
My strategy for Wednesday’s game was to predict a loss and hope for a win/draw. That way I knew there would be a little happiness in my day whatever the outcome.
It’s difficult for Sunday. I think that it is likely that we will get a point or 3 but we don’t have a good track record against middle or lower teams and we don’t seem to perform at the top level when on TV.
So I will maintain the strategy of predicting a loss and hope for a brilliant exciting game in which Clive from Houston will “finally” get a correct score!
same team as Wednesday apart from i now think neves will start in place of his older mirror image moutinho.
He did run himself into the ground against chelski.
IF we play with the same commitment as wednesday we will piss this one.
P.S last night was hilarious in the pub watching those vile twats spit their dummies out at the end… priceless
I feel this is the perfect game for us after Wednesday night. Newcastle don’t press, they’ll quite happily let you have the ball, I can see our MF dictacting proceedings and really getting our WBs into the game.
Like I said on Twitter last night, ideally I’d play Saiss at CB with Neves alongside Moutinho, like Thomas suggests.
However, Moutinho returned to his best v Chelsea, stepping up as the leader of our MF. I wouldn’t want to disrupt that.
Hence keeping Saiss in MF & Bennett at CB.
I think we’ll create plenty and won’t be unduly tested by a limited Newcastle side. A comfortable 2-0.
I have a soft spot for Newcastle, back in the day they used to play attacking football and it was a joy to watch. These days, like a lot of Prem teams, they are not so Gung-ho.
Will Nuno keep the same 11?
Will Nuno make changes?
Will I ever get more than a 4 kill streak on Battlefield V?
The first two questions will be answered on Sunday, alas the last question will probably never be answered.
We should be full of confidence and rearing to go, Newcastle are a decent side so it will difficult.
I think we can nick this one though.
Mike
Neves is probably my favourite ever player I love the man but unless there’s any injuries or fitness issues I wouldn’t change the team. Really looking forward to tomorrow it’ll be a brillant result if we can get the win. A point would do and a loss and we’re back to square one. Jimenez to score the only goal of the game.
Long way to go but overnight in Bolden to catch up with some ode mucca’s that are werkin ‘up t’north’.
So 3 points on the toon followed by 3 yds of ale.
H’way the wolves.
Its tough being a wolves fan at times, couple of losses and a creeping sense of doom approaches feeling like its going to shatter all your hopes and dreams as usually that’s what happens. However I don’t think that will happen anymore under Fosun. I’ve just selected out the choices above, that we drop moutiniho to the bench and almost half who have voted agree with me. Its crazy that we can do that, shows the quality we have in the squad. I’m going to try and relax and just enjoy what we are doing in the prem. I’m hoping that we play with confidence at Newcastle and can see us picking up a point. Jimenez in an entertaining 1-1
I don’t know if I’s bring Neves back and I haven’t a fricking clue what the score will be. Predict a loss and we win so I’m going to stick to a winning formula so to speak.
Unlike a few others I think Rondon is a very good player who might have fitted into our set up. let’s hope he’s quiet tomorrow.
I don’t think that its a ‘given’ that Neves will come back in. The team that played on Wednesday was magnificent from start to finish and, unless there are fitness issues, they all deserve to start tomorrow. I can understand the arguments regarding ‘old man’ Moutinho and maybe he could be replaced by Neves after an hour or so but he definitely should keep his place. Looking forward to seeing MGW play again after his display on Wednesday (Shelvey must be sh***Ing himself).
Tough one to predict but I would be happy with a draw.
OODCL
Well, I must have been at a different game because we were overrun in the first half and really missing Neves. Nuno will put him straight back in.
As I said earlier in the week the performance on Wednesday has given NES hard choices. So good was it I would like to see the same team start. Good that there are alternatives available to Nuno.
If we can get on top early and make Newcastle and their fans nervous we will have a great chance.
Mostly, avoiding OGs and deflections will help but by their very nature you cannot legislate for such accidents. So, with a bit of luck in our favour for a change, we’ll make it.
Tough game this one.
Think we’ll draw 1 – 1
Sheady, you have to put the scores in the boxes, you don’t want to miss out on points.
Onwards + upwards!
Sorry, can’t predict another Wolves win. With Cardiff and Burnley both picking up three points we could really do with doing the same but I will be going for a draw. COYW.
Looking at the current PL league table and a win tomorrow could take us up to equal 9th.
Now if that is not an incentive then what is …
A win tomorrow followed by a mullering of Cheatmouth on Saturday and our trip darn to London over Xmas is looking positively tasty. … chuck in a Motown theatre night and things are looking ….. ‘I’ll be there to love and comfort yoooo’
So let’s make Wednesday’s magnificent win count with a sweet 3 points over Rafas rabble.
Can’t see any reason for changes except may be Neves for Moutinho.. but that’s Nunos choice…
Sing you’re heart out for the lads…
Just got in from a 430 mile trip home from Sconnie Botland, already getting my stuff ready for tomorrow morning, being picked up at 9 am by the lovely Mr & Mrs Lowves for the trip up to Newcastle to see part two of my “hope for Christmas” wish.
Please Mr Santa, I would like a
Newcastle 0
Wolves 2
Then a great result against Borinmouth next Saturday at the Golden Palace to round off a great couple of weeks before the Liverpool encounter.
COMBambinos.
Bin waiting for you to post, was worried that you had been kidnapped by the Haggis clan, was expecting the ransom note any minute!, see you in the morning.
I really really hope we win .,we can do easily after the Chelsea result who as I write this are beating Man City 2-0..
We will climb the league and stabilise our true position as in should be imo around 8th..
Will be an open game
I think that Rapha will need a tactics implant for it to become an open game as he is Mr cautious cautious but you never know.
For two low scoring teams there has always been goals whenever we meet at St. James Park and I expect that to continue. Would be nice to get back to our clean sheet run, but I wouldn’t complain about another 3 points!
On the basis that every time I predict a loss, we do the opposite, and vise versa. I would like to see Nuno keep the same line up. Newcastle will be just a tough a game as Chelsea, if not tougher.
I’ve managed to blag myself a ticket for tomorrow’s game. Sitting in with a few mates from the rugby club who are Toon born and bred.
Only downside: I won’t be able to wear my shirt!
If anyone notices the remnants of my Black Country accent I’ll simply strip to the waist; I certainly have the belly to convince anyone I’m a native of Tyneside.
And, I promise not recommend sandwich fillings when we win this time ;0)
Wolves to win? Of course!!
Wasn’t really looking forward to a long trek up North, that was until Wed essay night! Now can’t wait to get there, with renewed optimism.
Just hope the team can carry the momentum with them.
A few difficult calls for Nuno too. Must keep Gibbs-White in the 11 and I also want to see room made for Saiss in midfield. So Neves or Moutinho on bench?
Moutinho drops out for me. Think Bennett has done more than enough to stay in.
although we are different class with our current squad, the same old problem, if beating Chelsea can be called a problem, is that we up our game when challenged by a quality team, then relax slightly when next we play a middle of the table team, and, hey, they up their game, play rough, upset our style and ouch, we’re one goal down.
Who knows this week, they seem to have some good players, but hopefully we will keep up the good work from last Sunday.
But although we won that one, let’s face it, any other week, Jiminez and Jota could have squandered their chances, and any of the Chelsea shots could have flown in like Junior Hoillet’s did for Cardiff.
Anyway, we did beat Chelsea, Chelsea beat Man City tonight, so we’re the best in the league !!!
last Wednesday !
Take a look at this, again
& again
& again
& again
Time to believe….
https://mobile.twitter.com/wolves/status/1071493616810418176
Tricky one this after the achievements from last week.
Nevertheless, I’m going for another win for the Wolves. I think we can get up to win 2-1!,
Still buzzing from the win over Chelsea, even though i was not panicking it was nice to get that win. Now on to Newcastle and Nuno has some selection dilemmas. I expect Neves to come in but who for?? Any one left out can feel hard done to but it might be an opportunity to rest Moutinho plus i think Saiss might be up for this one
Obviously I hope for a win, but still wary of getting carried away so think a point away wouldn’t be a bad result. Keep in Bennett and Saiss and maybe rest Moutinho for Neves? Not a bad dilemma to have.
At Stamford Bridge this evening to see Chelsea beat Man City. Very proud feeling to hear the constant references to our win over Chelsea in midweek. We’ve certainly given the top six a run for their money so far. Bring on Liverpool…
True, we’ve had mixed results agajnst the rest of the pack, especially the high energy less technical sides. Cardiff are showing what can be achieved by such methods. Newcastle fall between the two extremes I think. I’m undecided beteeen 2-1 to us or 2-2. Start the same team that beat Chelsea and we can nick it.
Not too sure about this one. I have memories of several good wins against Newcastle (2-2 at St James’ Park then 4-2 at Molineux on our way to Wembley in 1960, SB’s 4 at New Year etc. etc.) but not too many bad losses. Have always found them an entertaining side right from the days of MIlburn, Mitchell and co right up to present.
My hope is that Wednesday will turn out to kick start a good run of results after the previous six games and I’m going for a decent win with the start of a better scoring rate – DJ perhaps? and IC owes us a few.
Best wishes to all making the trip, may you have an enjoyable journey home.
BTW thanks for that video link Stu, highly enjoyable, and doesn’t it show MGW’s close control to good advantage.
COYW
Tough nut to crack Newcastle so a good draw for me
Tough game against a desperate side.
Me being of little faith got the Chelsea score back to front. Not this time Jota has his mojo back and all is well in the world. Onwards and upwards now!
I have to be careful what I put on this one. The missus family is from geordie land and she might get to see this. She is already humming the bloody Bladon Races around the place.
After Wednesday if the team has to be changed I think Neves for Mutinho is the only choice. Keep MGW and be more compact up front. Maybe Nuno has found the answer to our problems or more likely had it forced on him by accident (Neves suspension).
Will probably be a tight game with Newcastle doing their best to frustrate us or in Shelvey’s case kick mus off the park. No bloody idea what the score will be and I have already given up on the PL for this season.
Would love to see a rerun of the Steve Bull extraveganza of the 90’s but doubt it will happen,
Any win will do.
Can’t see past a win for the boys in old gold and black. I think the like for like swaps now should be mainly focused between Neves and Moutinho and Saiss and Dendoncker, with Dendoncker building up his minutes before finally establishing himself as a main stay in the centre of the park.
Got a good feeling about today…
I think we’ve missed the football that Jota brings
And wasn’t Vinagre twice the player when he was along side him
Neves in for Moutinho is the only change I would make but as always in Nuno we trust ! A win today would put us back up the table.
COYW
Ok, back to positive predictions after thinking we wouldn’t beat Chelsea. I don’t think he will leave Neves out but who for? Moutinho looked shattered at the end on Wednesday but I think it’s more likely to be Saiss. Come on me babbies!
There are no easy games in the Premier League. So we will need to show the same application that we showed on Sunday, or Wednesday, or whenever it was.
I don’t think it’s good to drop anyone after Chelski as they were all 10/10. If Joao is feeling it, he’s professional enough to point that out to Nuno and a change will be made. Otherwise, Ruben on the bench please.
No mugs, the Geordies, and we will need to be at our best to achieve what we want from the match.
The spirit of Wednesday please. NES will start with the team he thinks best BUT I have thought Neves has looked a bit nervous at times this season. Shots he would have taken on last year he has passed instead. Orders from NES or nerves.? Whichever, he will bounce back.
Time for some of the (many) chances we’ve had to be converted.
I know that the northern latitudes have a strange effect on men in Old Gold. Take last season against Sunderland for example.
I would be reasonably happy with a point at the toon but after the battling performance against Chelsea I’m going for a win.
Note to Nuno:- Don’t drop Bennett mate. Apart from being an outstanding right centre back (which Saiss, for all his talents, isn’t), his long throws are a new weapon in our armoury and could come in VERY useful. It’s amazing how even the best drilled defences turn into headless chickens (or should it be turkeys given the time of year) when faced with a ball propelled from the touchline that drops in their six yard area.
I would rest Moutinho and keep the others that played so well in the week.
But I have a feeling that M G-W will be on the bench.
Living in exile up here in Sunderland this is my home game this season and I totally expect us to turn over the Geordies.
Mike Dean reffing
Gonna be at least one penalty in the game.
Hope its against that bloke who walks around taking pictures of himself…….
Jon Joe Selfie!!
What, this twat.
He’s harmless. Not as bad as that plonker running round Sunderland in a Pink Shirt.
Hoping that everything we showed against Chelsea, we can show again today.
This, again is a hard one to predict; I don’t know how the successful guys do it.
It was a great display against a great team full of quality the other night. The MOTD coverage was disrespectful in my view and terribly slanted, and I am one who has never ventured into such a statement before. Chelsea were superb and with the right striker would have done for us, but we were sublime in attitude and application. Some of us felt we needed the gods to smile on us after the Brighton and Arsenal results, where wins for ourselves would have been well earned.
I am going for a win, just about, for ourselves; with games coming up as fast as they are, I would rest MGW, bring in Neves and push Moutino forward slightly first half with a straight swap with Moutino for MGW second half; I think these two need more respite for obviously differing reasons. It was good to see Dendoncker getting a run out; let’s hope he is able to prove worthy more regularly…
Which Wolves team would turn up for this game? The one that was toothless against the Terriers or the disciplined, hard working machine as seen in the Chelsea game? Answers on a postcard.
Still, I fancy a win. And a clean sheet.
Thought long and hard on this one, obviously my heart is screaming a wolves win but my head is saying the opposite. They have picked up some good results recently and have hit a bit of form and Rafa is a very good manager, tactician and they are at home, on TV.
We had a great result against Chelsea, MGW played a blinder, our 2 strickers found the back of the net, Saiss back to his best, we came from behind and won the game all without the magician that is Neves.
Well, I am going for a Wolves win based on our two strickers scoring midweek and the confidence that this will give them going into today’s game. We are really good on the break and just need to show the same clinical finishing we achieved Wednesday.
Good luck lads and safe journey to all the wolfs who have made the trip up there.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Score draw I reckon
Will be happy with that
Go on boys
Merry feckin Christmas and Bah Humbug
Are Disney marketting this under there Mickey Mouse section?
No reason we can’t go there and win. Lads should be full of confidence after the Chelsea win.
Hoping for 3 points
COYW
I hope we play them out of the park and win by 2 goals.
.
Then the fans can sing “We are the best newly promoted side ever”
.
0-2
3 changes from the Chelsea line up……..Interesting.
Chelsea was a great memory but it’s now back to business. Neves returning to the side isn’t such a surprise but Costa and Traore starting is (to me, anyway).
I still think we are more than capable of getting a point.
Haven’t checked teamsheet yet but I don’t think
It matters
Would have taken the draw vs chelski and the same result today
But sod it.. think this could be a thriller
Just need to
Find my away shirt in next 15 minutes
I’m loving Wolvo’s prem journey so far! Haven’t missed a minute of livestreaming it since we got promoted.
Lineups are in, can’t believe Rafa respects us so much, starting what looks like a 5-4-1 at home against us. I think Nuno has got the lineup right at the expense of GibbsWhite. The middle will be crowded. I see this as a ‘enable the Neves’ team with Saiss protecting him, a back 3 behind him and 4 passing options to switch flanks to players willing to take their man on and attempt tricky triangles with Vinagre, Traore, Costa and Doc!
This really is giving Neves a chance to rove himself. Hope our shooting boots are on today! (And Saiss doesn’t get himself sent off)
First goal is important . If we score early Wolves will Blitz em.
2-1? Oh yes!!!!!
A few people around me aren’t very happy so we’re in no rush to get out!!
What you all having for tea?
Great result. For most of the game I would have taken the draw. But sometimes you get more than you deserve.
Very surprised by starting 11 and not convinced Nuno got it right. But hey we won! And so did the 12th man who you could clearly hear all through the game.
Thing is if you are not playing great winning is the main thing.
Great result and I got the score right for once. Lady Luck played her part though.
I didn’t think Nuno got the starting eleven right but we got there in the end. I can see us strengthening in January.
The biggest positive for me is the glorious return to form by Jota. My MOTM. It’s been timely as Neves has looked well off the pace and his free kicks have been like damp squibs of late.
Well done the Wolves!
FFFFFUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKIIIIINNNNN””””””””””” AAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Full report to follow, still on clouds nine ,ten and eleven!!
I’d never knock Nuno for experimenting with the first eleven, it’s the only true way to find out what your players can do; but can we not have that front 3 again please.
Fantastic result though, and Jota looks bang on again, especially his run for the second goal.
So, back to winning ways and my prediction correct too.
Marvellous!
UTW
7pm on 4th glass of wine already. The missus has stopped humming the Bladon Races all is well in the land.
Not a vintage performance but I will gladly take it. Well done the lads
Never mind the quality. Here’s Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. Games we lost we should av won. Today we won and were not at our best. Don’t give a fucking shit. Wolves ay we.
Brilliant 6 points in a week bring on Yawnmouth!!!!!!!
Well, I really like these very short journeys home after a game. Backin the house and dinner finished andit is only 2010 hrs.
Atmopshere in our end was great and my ears are ringing. I love it when we dont play all that well but still come away with 3 points.
Wolves ay we!
PS : STILL not convinced about Traore though.
So much Geordie winging after game. They reckon Boly elbow in their bloke off a corner. In slow motion may be but live no way could that be given. Any way their bloke should have gone earlier for a clear assault on Jota clean through.nothing given. So knob off Benitez
Fabulous!
The funniest thing was Benitez whinging about the absence of VAR. That will come next season, this is the here and now. Anyway, we’ve had decisions that have gone against Wolves. That said, in my view Yedlin illegally prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity. The Boly incident I’ll watch again on MOTD.
