Here’s one for you: When was the last time Wolves won at the Riverside?
The answer is never.
Admittedly I may have trotted that little gem out once or twice before.
This has actually been a home banker since the days of Ayresome Park, with Boro undefeated since April 11th 1951.
We were a good team in the 50s I’m told and we’re good team now, so an opportunity if ever there was one, to break the curse and force me into coming up with some original material next time around.
Middlsbrough
When we kicked off on the opening day of the season I don’t think many people expected Wolves to be 20 points ahead of their opponents come the end of March.
But it could have been worse. They spent a chunk of the season languishing just above midtable despite spending millions in the summer and that mediocrity was enough to cost Garry Monk his job.
Tony Pulis has since lifted them into the top six, but it’s hard to see Bristol City, Sheff Utd and Preston all going quietly into the night. In fact, lose this game and they’ll almost certainly drop out of the play-off places.
The goals of Patrick Bamford and the supply line from Adama Traore have been paramount in their recent surge and they present the most obvious danger.
Wolves
Assuming no international duty disasters, team selection should be automatic.
Hopefully the pace of Benik Afobe can give us the attacking edge the team lacked in recent defeats at Fulham and Villa.
The Saiss and Neves combination in midfield could also be pivotal. We didn’t have them playing together in either game and their ability to retain and circulate possession will be imperative in what will likely be a tight contest.
The odds
Wolves are 9/5 to get the win, with Boro priced at 83/41. The draw is 11/5. All the latest bookies offers from the best betting sites can be found at that site to maximise your returns.
Predictions
Although we have far easier fixtures (on paper at least) to obtain the points necessary for promotion, it would be nice to make a statement.
We could easily win if everything clicks, but I suspect Middlesbrough will be well organised and uncompromising.
I’d take a point and I think that’s the most likely outcome.
1-1.
Up The Wolves!

This is the season for breaking all hoodoo’s
Traore will be coming for you this time. forget the 0 v 2 or 1 v 1 we will rip you apart Your horror show at Aston Villa is about to be repeated
Welcome Jefwe Bubbles Bon Bon, Traore will find it very difficult to use his undoubted speed when he is feeling giddy as he is given the run around by a far superior TEAM.
Never mind, you should do well in the championship next season with such a well respected manager playing such watchable football.
Whatever the result on Friday, the best of luck for the rest of the season.
Really?
You only managed to scrape one goal against 9 men!
Hopefully Benik can bag another to sneak us the points.
Would really love a win given how long it is since we won there .Will be tight but I fancy us to break the hoodoo .1-0 to the Gold and Black .
Tight game break the hoodoo 1-0 wolves
I think that with the defence back to the settled back three,Neves back, and the attack looking far more dangerous with Adobe ,we will have too much for Middlesbrough despite their recent form.
I see this as a game with goals given the recent attacking form of both sides.
Middlesbrough 2
Wolves. 3
UTW
Full of confidence in our team. If they play to our expectation – we should edge this game.
The mighty Wolves to do a rare double over the Brough, bring it on !
This is going to be a tough game, but one we can win. A massive chance to cement our promotion credentials. Yes I would take a draw but this is new Wolves and we have better quality than them. I am going for a Wolves win… Nuno had a dream you know!
Very tough game this, Borough have improved dragging themselves into the playoffs scoring some half decent goals along the way. I would be happy with a draw. For those that are going enjoy the match Ill be on the sofa with a few beers for this one.
We have quality all over the pitch, but they too have a reasonable quota of top players, especially up front. Consequently, I can’t see us keeping it out of our onion bag for the entire 90, but I can see us scoring more than them. And that’s the idea, after all.
Interesting statistic………….. which means it is due to change, therefore:
Very tough game in store but I think we have enough to scrape 2-1. The physical presence of Afobe is the missing piece of jigsaw for us. In his past life Afobe had Sako and Dicko to play off. No disrespect to that great duo but look who Afobe has now…
I was surprised Boro let Monk go but Pulis has proved them right. Ironically, Boro under Pulis look a a superior team to West Brom under Pulis. That’s probably because they are! Pulis is a shrewd operator at this level.
Wolves stole a 1 v 0 victory after a mistake let you in at home. then you were out played by a team that Monk put out leaving out our leaders. Now Tony Pulis has pulled us together, got our leaders and best players on the pitch, We will be a far different team this time around.
COME AND HAVE A GO
Jeffrey trying to re-write history is a pointless exercise. You were poor at the Mol with no cutting edge. You gifted us a goal and we managed you out of the game. You didn’t put up any real resistance despite having prem players, no real spirit. Pulis will give you spirit and put right some of the mis-management he may well get you promoted in the next 12 months, but to find out how it goes from there checkout Stoke and Albion. Good luck on Friday, should be a good game.
Neves had a great game for Portugal on Friday, the tv pundits in his Country were drooling over him. He did’nt even get on the pitch last night and they lost 3-0 so he should be well rested to face Jefferey’s lads. I have a feeling Jeffery may well be jumping into that river behind the coach park on Friday.
Wolves 1-0 Boro
Tight match with the 12th man driving them on to another 3 points, record books torn up this season as someone pointed out above, “New Wolves”
COMBambinos
When was the last time we got anything from a Pulis side?We are a good side but stats are stats.Draw would be a great result.
Going to be an interesting game. Is it another hoodoo put to bed? Is it another Villa game? Are we going to show up after the International break? Are we going to show Sky viewers just how good we are?
Yes, we have just 12 points to get to guarantee automatic promotion and a loss on Friday night would not be a disaster. That said, I expect our lads to show their dogged determination to all and bring home all the points.
Id take a draw alll day long (although try to win first obviously!)
Win this, then we’re coasting to promotion.
I predict a stadium of sorry smoggies, out sung by a significant minority of Wolves fans, and out played by the best team in the division.
It won’t be another Villa, Nuno will have got in their ears about that one. We’ll see classic Wolves away, compact and night on impossible to get through, coupled with devastating counter-attacks.
Afobe, Cav and Douglas with the goals.
That quasi wind up merchant, Jeffrey, above, must be a shit fan in disguise, who blindly followed Poolis out the parking lot all the way to Middlesbro.
Must be sad to troll other clubs blogs to try and get under their skin, instead of having an actual life.
We are twenty points above Boro, and are much more likely to get promotion than them, coz we are the best side in the division, so why are we expecting a tough game?
Surely they must be expecting an even tougher game?
If we don’t win this one, we will still be faves for promotion.
If they don’t win, well, basically, their fucked. (To quote Liam Neeson in Love Actually)
And as I have pointed out on here on many occasions, as I try to educate the uneducateable, the record books will show we beat Boro on the opening day of the season.
It will not be recorded that it was a lucky goal, or one produced by an error of their defence, or any other pathetic excuse. Every goal is a good goal, it don’t matter how it goes in the net, as long as it does.
There is a reason Boro got relegated last season, it is coz they were crap and deserved to be.
There is a reason they are twenty points behind us, it is coz they are crap, compared to us, a fact that will be borne out on Friday.
Friday is nailing up day for religious folk, and Boro are gonna be hammered and nailed by us.
Easy 5-1 to the might Wanderers, Poolis will change his name to droolis, as he salivates over the liquid football produced by the champions-elect.
FOwb
Clive,
Really? Love Actually – lmfao
Hey!
Emma Thompson is one hot Momma!
Would love a win, would take a draw, defeat would not be a disaster…
I would of gone for a win if we never had this pointless international break
Going for a score draw which I would take away to them plus our record there, prove me wrong boys
Records are meant to be broken. Just because we have not won there does not mean we will not win on Friday.
Great to have the league programme back. I’m not very keen on these international breaks at crucial times of the season.
Boro have come on leaps and bounds since we played them. Very dangerous and plenty of pace throughout the team.
So yet another tough game and a step up in quality to what we have played lately.
I am going for a draw for this one.
Whilst I’d take a draw as a point nearer our last 12 required I want and expect more from the best team in the division. Yes Boro are better than when we played them, so what, we are too. If they decide to attack us that suits our game, our classy midfield duo will utilise the spaces they have vacated, and with the best forward line in the division we should be capable of taking 1 or 2 of the chances we create. Afobe and Douglas to get the goals in a tight closely fought game.
It’s felt like it has been so long… can’t wait for this one
Sofa game for me. Hoping for a Good Friday but with our record at set pieces and them being a bit tasty at them it could prove difficult.
Agreed Wight, tricky one to predict, so I’ll sit on the fence like you!
Cav to get back on the score sheet.
COMBs!
Well, Norwich, Derby, Cardiff, Villa and Fulham have all won there so I see no reason why we can’t.
Having said that they are on fire at home at the moment so it may be a question of containing them for the first hour or so before chances come our way. Especially when they get set-pieces. Statistics and history will (as usual) mean nothing.
If we are seriously aiming to cement a place in the Premiership then we should beat Middlesborough.
The remaining games, till we are assured champions, are an opportunity for the players to show their individual talent and our class as a team.
We should dispense with our rivals, showing the superiority our points tally illustrates.
I expect a win.
Ah, 1951. Pre UK music charts and before I came on the scene.
As history suggests, this is a tough fixture and I would be happy for Wolves to come away with a point. But, just maybe, we can put the record straight and secure a victory.
If our defence is on song I’m sure we can win this, as we are the best team in the Championship. Bloggers seem to lack confidence on this match, but I think we’ll win, hopefully 3-0, but any score will do for the 3 points.
In previous seasons a draw would have been an acceptable result but am expecting more after the great season to date.
Afobe and Costa to score and another clean sheet. On telly at 3:30am Saturday in Australia – could be a long day after watching.
UTW
Enough is enough.
The last time we won up there BOG wasn’t even born and he’s older than Methuselah!
So at the risk of being diagnosed with ‘Clive-itis’ this is our year, this is Nuno’s year and therefore we will smash Tony Clueless’s Boro boys 5-1. Afobe to score.
I think it’s going to be a draw
Oh and by the way ..

Yes stu .. top man
Good to see that Neves sat out Portugal’s second game on the bench so he should be pretty fresh for this one. Lets hope all the others return fit and ready to go.
I feel like I’ve slept with a beautiful woman and had to wait 2 weeks before I could do it again.
Yes, my friends, I have a long memory.
I think we make a statement on Friday and show everybody why we are runaway leaders of this league. Utw
I would totally take a draw from this one and be happy. But Wolves are more than capable of winning this if they go for it. A win on Friday followed by a win home to Hull would be pretty much job done in my book. So much so, if we won the next two, I would love it for Nuno to send the second team to Cardiff, just to wind up Warnock! 🙂 Not that he would of course, but oh that would be so sweet!
Come on Wolves, we’re on the home stretch now. Time to stretch that pace and push for the finish. Let’s finish this race!
Go Wolves!!!
I have a feeling in my loins about this one. A good feeling. So good it could get messy (Loinal Messy). A feeling its going to be our biggest win of the season.
Well known and highly respected football pundit Jeffrey Wood has, apparently, predicted a 4-0 win for ‘Borough.
Well he WOOD wouldn’t he.
I don’t necessarily agree with his prediction. We’ll see, won’t we.
I’m also quite interested in his comments on Tony Pulis. It seems he’s a fan.
I wonder how long that will last before we start hearing complaints about the negative, boring football he’s serving up.
I think Friday will see a close game with Wolves winning by the odd goal.
Oh Yes, nearly forgot…
“WE ARE COMING AND WE’RE DEFINITELY GOING TO HAVE A GO!”
Well that seems to be popular, I posted Matt’s crowdfunding link on facebook on 10 sites last night, the figure stands at £5 shy of £200 already in less than 24 hrs.
I suppose I’ll have to donate some myself now.

Did you know that Middlesbrough is the most misspelt town name in the UK – with borough replacing brough even in the media?
It seems incredible that we have not won there since 1951 – 2 years before I was born!
Surely it’s now time to put that behind us?
A close and hard fought win……….please!
2-1 to Wolves
Bloody hell BOG!
Have you been getting out all your old vinyl?
They say that you can’t beat a good old 7 incher.
But we’ve all proved them wrong over the years haven’t we?
Funnily enough I was listening to Shaun Keaveny on Radio 6 Music this morning and he played ‘Move on up’ by the great Curtis Mayfield.
Isn’t that just one of the best couple of feel good minutes ever to have been committed to vinyl?
Hiya Doog. Yes you guessed it in one.
Browsing through the 7″ vinyl neatly catalogued in rows taking up a whole wall in the “man cave” I started to daydream about the season so far – hence the silly blog.
With vinyl making a comeback more and more are finding the old needle groove is the only way.
Curtis Mayfield and Move on Up brings back such wonderful memories of the club Lafayette – you certainly cannot beat a 7 incher!!!
The Club Lafayette was where I spent some of my most unforgettable times (well I think they were, I was pissed or stoned for most of them) when I was at the Art School just up the road.
Thursday night is Blues night!
Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull (when they were a proper blues band), Chicken Shack, Argent, Trapeze, Duster Bennett, Savoy Brown, I’ve watched them all through a haze of smoke and dope.
Oh! My lost youth.
I just can`t se us losing, and its more than likely that we will take the three points. Keep them out for the first twenty minutes then start hitting them on the counter attack with our pacey front players.
We are where we are because we have the best players individually and collectively, the group love defending deep and hitting teams on the break, especially away from home, so its a mego 3-0 win for me.
Special day Good Friday also a special day for 3 points.
Wolvesblog.com makes it into the Birmingham mail.

One of the tough fixtures left and I don’t think there will be a lot between us.
Hope to get over this hoodoo with a narrow win, but would accept a point.
Boro 1 – 3 Wolves.
After the break, Wolves will be chomping at the bit.
And I think the fact that Portugal lost 0-3 and Neves was on the bench might have shown their coach how much better they played with him. I’m certainly glad he wasn’t playing during the loss.
Wouldn’t be great for his confidence.
Shame the banner news is out in the public domaine not so much of a surprise for the stripes down the road.
Shows the B’ham Mail reporters read our blog for the latest.

This is not as easy a game as it could have been. Pulis will make sure of that and his team will come out to frustrate and attack.
Which is exactly how we will overcome the boro. After all, records are there to be smashed, so keep an eye out for Norris McWhirter, all you travelling fans.
Expect a few classy Wolves goals, I get a feeling that Nuno’s lads can smell the finishing line and unlike that bunch of ditherers in 2002 are going to charge headlong toward it.
As the Donald would say, it’s gonna be great!
So enjoy it guys and girls; especially when you consider Fosun are now worth 60,000,000,000,000 (in English). and I’m sure there’s more than one way their legal types can skin the FFP rules.

*** BLOGGERS BALLBASH 2018 ****
Hi All …. with Sheff Wed being the last home match of this fantastic season … a number of us … we’ll a lot actually want another get together.
This year will be a little different in so much that events in November 17 have, regrettably, divided the ‘group’ for this years BallBash and get together.. BUT this only refers to accommodation.
I have absolutely no doubt that we all want to meet up somewhere for a nice meal together, plenty of laughs and banter and a celebration of what eventually WILL turn out to be an unforgettable season.
A fair number of us have already booked overnight accommodation…that’s down to the individual BUT LETS GET A VENUE SORTED…
We had a really good night at the Queens St Chinese restaurant in November but I’m asking you mobsters for any other suggestions on where we can eat.
It’s only just over 4 weeks away so let’s get this ball rolling on deciding what’s on the menu.
My email address is ….oldfield23@btinternet.com ….. so let’s have some suggestions and move this BALLBASH plan forward.
There are 3 places that spring to my mind ….
* Queen St Chinese….. * Italian in Darlington St …. * Thai in Darlington St …. *Indian food?
That’s four, you plank.
You realize there are three kinds of people in the world.
Those that can count and those that cannot.
The only reason the shit are trying to do that crowdfunding is to raise twenty quid to buy a new team….and they will expect change!!
Indian food is a suggestion ..NOT a place to dine… so I woz correct… there…hmmmm
Well I don’t know the weird names these foreign types call their eating establishments.
Indian Food sounds as good a name for a chip shop as any!
I’m in … I think a Chinese would be very appropriate
Me, I likey flied lice.
They velly good to us last time.
I aglee Struwolf…
It’s not flied lice. It’s fried rice you plick.
Not knowing the fine dineries around Wolvo as well as many of you, I’ll leave the choice of venue to y’all. However, could we bear in mind it would be nice to have an area for standing around with a tipple post-meal. Talking when your mouth is full of Foo Yung can be so unsightly.
Wishing the team all 3 points but not as optimistic as most of you (and desperately need to catch up in PL)
This game Feels 50 50 to me. As likely it is that we might overcome borough, I’d say we have the same chance of sinking Villa-style (remember that we were actually in control of the Villa game 1st half until we pissed it all away).
It will be a long 90 minutes of football. If we win, we’re up as far as I can see. Fail to win and we just pick ourselves up, dust down, and concentrate on Hull.
Up the Wolves.
Ipswich and McCarthy part company.
The shite are going down
The stars are aligning just perfectly.
Hoodoo’s are meant to be broken at some time and this season we have broken quite a few, Mad Mick springs to mind.
This will be a tight game no doubt about it, but we have the team to overcome Boro’ whatever their supporters think.
Wolves to win (just) and the PL gets closer
And the Express and Star have picked up on the banner thing.

How lucky am I, travelling back through the Airport in South Africa????
In Algarve at present and thought I would share this comment made in The Portugal News.
“Wolverhampton Wanderers wonder kid Rubén Neves……..was in scintillating form including
a marvellous 50-yard cross-field ball to Ronaldo, who controlled the ball instantly……”
Will be watching tomorrow in a pub at Armacao de Pera followed by a meal at The Nepalese.
A win would be great of course . However Pulis will set his team up well. They will be much stronger opposition than in our recent games and they will be fighting for that play off place.
I think a draw would be a reasonable outcome
Would love to see us win this one but I would settle for a draw in what could be a very tough fixture. These away games at Boro and Cardiff will be tricky but a point at each will do us just fine providing we keep up our home form.
I’m biting the bullet on this one …
A couple of weeks R and R and we’ll come out of the blocks like a Boult out of the Green, Yellow and Black flag..
Poolis just will not know how to keep his big mouth closed at the speed of the counter attacks and goals that will be bending the Boro net.
Win this one and I’ll be drooling at the thought of Stuwolf driving me to Cardiff for the Promotion clincher…
We have not won away against Boro since the days my granddad was enjoying our golden era but the way Nuno has smashed all our previous recordings of failure at this level you would not be surprised he we got the three points. However, Boro are in a decent run of form at the moment and their need is certainly greater than ours. We have also struggled against in form teams recently.
As for team news if all our international globe trotters have returned safe and sound you cant really see any changes.
If we do get beat no reason to panic we only need 4 wins max.
You certainly got that wrong ……. this is the Nu Wolves.
Happy to have got that wrong. You are right this is a Nuno Wolves past records / failings mean nothing to him!!!!
Come on Wolves, make a statement of intent.
Refreshed and ready to go after the break wolves can see the finish line from here. I think they’ll sprint towards it. Costa afobe and saiss with the goals

Hi Vlad.
Several years ago I inherited a 10″ shellac collection from an ex pirate radio DJ.
There were over 7000 of them. I’ve sold a couple of thousand but there are still too many for me to risk a bet.
Hey Doog,
Now that’s impressive, take a bow! I’ve got 50 shellac records tops and mates think I’m crazy already ha-ha.
Was going for a draw all week and now as we get closer the positivity has returned, all rested and raring to go 8 games left tough next fortnight ahead but lets break the hoodoo and give them a beating COYW
Positive predictions continuing
Can’t help but noticing the words “Good Friday” on the calendar and thinking that that will be the headline on the Wolves website tomorrow. After the long break the boys will be like Wolves unleashed and with the finishing line in site I am sure Nuno will have them fired up for this one. Won’t probably have it all our own way as Bamford has discovered his shooting boots again but I just think that we will edge this one.
Happy Easter to all bloggers from a very sunny Newark On Trent.
So it’s onto Borra
Bogey? no bogey’s here!
Good Friday – nar Great Friday
Just checked and the Banks’s is chilled and ready for tonight
COMB
FOwb, veela, Colin and blouses….
PS, Well done to Sammy Vokes for his hatrick against the Shite tomoz……
Would even be happy with a draw.
Is it wrong to have half an eye on what the other results are? Not that I’m doubting we’re going up, I’m more interested in seeing how the Vile are struggling.
Wouldn’t mind if Fulham pinched second place. Quite like Colin to miss out as well.
It would be good to see the Pulis philosophy of football debunked but probably will be a close game and result that will have to be ground out
The hoodoo goes back to three years before I started watching Wolves – I do remember seeing Roy Swinbourne play though. If it’s ever going to come to an end surely this season is the time. If it doesn’t happen today it could be a few years before we get another chance – we won’t be in the same division!! I think we’ll do it …. COYW
Can anybody explain to me why Stuart Atwell is on the FIFA list . He must be the worst ref in Europe even worse than Jones or Madley
Stuart Atwell has been bad ever since he first put a whistle in his mouth….. in fact he’s such a shocking referee that deserves no place in football…
That was simply sensational!!!
That will go down in the annals.
That has knocked a few years off my life.
Nurse, the screens!
We’ve just been sent an e-mail saying “Stuart Atwell, born and bred in Middlesbrough and a fanatic Boro fan”
How the hell can that be allowed.
Criminal.
Nice to meet the leg end that is Brompton and Lowves with the lovely Carmen. The craziest scenes Iv’e ever been part of in 56 years pf supporting the Old Gold and Black.
Three more wins to th PL.
Come on me bambinos.
What a game, I mean what a feking game. 20 mins to go with 9 men and I thought oh no here we go ……… but Nuno has sorted that out and he had all the players fighting to the very last second of the 96 minutes.
Well done lads – proud of you all.
What peed me off the most about Atwell is that he should have been more on our side as he is from Nuneaton! And was educated in Staffordshire.
Fake news!
Born in Nuneaton I think mate.
The day that 9 men beat 12 men.
Watching the pug ugly Pulis at the end made my Easter. As Barry Davies once famously said on Match of The Day in the 1970’s
“Look at his face! Just LOOK at his face!!!!”.
Promotion will now be secured v Derby on 11 April and the title v Blues on 15 April.
OODCL
‘The day that 9 men beat 12 men’ has been the most popular post on all Wolves sites, a sentiment I echo. Ref should hang his head in shame.
Unlike a fine wine Brompton doesn’t get any better looking with age does he?
😉
OODCL
Nope mate. He was born ugly. Got your text msg – is BOG, Witley etc not coming to the game and therefore dinner?
Absolutely amazing result from a team that doesn’t know how to lose gracefully…
The referee meanwhile should be caricatured in Viz, alongside the Parky and Roger Mellie. I thought the idiot at the Cardiff game was unbeatably bad but it just goes to show how wrong I can be.
Fantasy Island stuff from quite the most exciting Wolves team I can remember.
Just a mention of tim spiers reporting of the game… whose side are you on Tim? Probably time for a trip to specsavers mate…

Ref Stuart Atwell:-
It was a giggle guys.
A dig at a complete tosser.
Boro fans are saying they should sign him.
I have it on good authority that Stuart Attwell still lives at home with his Mum who does all his washing and irons his kit, he’s never had a girlfriend and likes collecting stamps and making model aeroplanes when he isn’t playing Dungeons And Dragons on-line under his cyber name of ‘The Enforcer’. The only football he’s ever played is FIFA on his X-Box.
In other words a right Twip.
Timid. Weak. Incompetent. Pathetic.

This is most definitely our year.
When we look back in years to come saying “this was the game that truely defined the season”
To score 2 cracking goals by fighting for the right to score both goals.
To then play against 12 men for the last 46 + 6 was a fekin joke! Seriously Atwell is you watch this back you’ll probably tazer yourself in your blood with embarrassment. What a Bel End
Surely he’ll be demoted to refing Wolves Casuals under 10’s after that embarrassing performance.
However, when Sky turn the volume down on the away supporters microphone you know our 12th man were as big in performance as our superstars.
As for Pulis, please don’t be too hard on him, after all he took the Shite to the brink of relegation BEFORE Alan Fartjew took them to another level (several lower levels)
Wolves I really do fekin love everything about you this is the best time from r us fans EVER
THE WOLVES ARE GOING UP & SHITE ARE GOING DOWN
Jefwe bubbles Bon Bon WHERE ARE YOU?
So Traore was going to rip us apart was he?
Well what happened?
Lowves,
I reckon he’ll still be crying that his Bu’bu’bu’bu’bubbles have burst
Or may Attwell has given his bubbles a Red Card
My thoughts and prayers go out to Ray (Butch) Wilkins family tonight.
Ray suffered a bad Cardiac arrest tonight and is in hospital in a serious condition.
I pray for a successful outcome, Cardiac care is outstanding nowadays, but fingers crossed for a great player and all round nice man.
StuWolf.
Yes get well soon ray hope u pull through,

Now that’s Passion!
Wonder if Steve Bruce should re-consider his stance on celebrating with his team? You never know they might not have become 16 fe’hou’kin points behind us.
Mind the GAP – lmfro
WOW – what a performance, It really was a “Good Friday”
Poor –
referee who totally lost control
Did not give clear foul on costa when he had his heels clipped – since when has this not been a foul?
Docherty’s challenge was a normal strong defenders challenge
Don Goodmans comments on sky – Docherty led with his elbow (boll–ks) and he thought Nuno should have shook Poolis’s hand before running on to the pitch at the end – it is called adrenaline and emotion Don.
Poolisis decision not to go from his 1 up (ex wba shining through) to immediately go to 2 up when we went down to 9 – why wait to bring Assombolonga on ?
Good –
Wolves performance all 11 but especially the 9 who defended and gave their all.
Neves ball to Costa which started all the problems, an absolute peach of a pass and his 2 long range shots will be a pleasure to watch him in the Premier.
Nuno at the end showed exactly what it meant to the team/wolves and the supporters, wonderful emotion.
Finally broke another hoodoo not since 1951(year before I was born) have we beaten them.
Congratulations to Witley for being top of the prediction league and commiserations to Ashk for going against the flow.
Very, very proud of the Boys. What a fucking game!!!
I suffered, and suffer well, see the game in a sly stream, but I had that fantastic feeling that I had seen something special. It reminded me of some of the great teams FC Porto (my religion) have had in the past. No big stars, but always playing with high intensity, with a strong group spirit, fighting bravely against adversity. I feel sorry for the expulsion of Ruben Neves, but those feet are magic. Passes, shots, all done sublimely. He was my favorite player in Porto. It continues to be so now. And it is for him, but also for the fantastic group of followers who accompany the Wolves, that my heart is also yours. Eternally. We go to the Premier League!
Nice comments, Paulo and great that you share the same passion that us lot do on this blog!
My biggest criticism of Attwell was his sheer inconsistency – there were loads of challenges by both sides that could have been yellow, whilst others that were no worse than those that he dished out cards for (usually against us!). Whilst I still think that he is weak and inept, I can understand maybe why he didn’t give the Friend trip on Helda, as it was the faintest of touches, which his linesman missed and maybe Helda’s tendency to go down easily cost him – just saying. However, the stats support that he was anti-Wolves (5 yellows and 2 reds to Borough’s 3 yellows).
Hope the Neves and Doherty bans don’t come back to haunt us – how tired must the 9 heroes be (or was it 12 with the subs) with a game coming up on Tuesday with Hull still fighting for their lives?
What a roller coaster and what a season!
UTW!
what do fellow bloggers think the new strip should look like when we are back in the premier ?
will kick off with my suggestion going back 100 years and would be in old gold
Not to my taste mate. We live in a different century.
Ok 2ns suggestion how about the Liverpool white and black away strip with the white being old gold ?
The noise was deafening,” Top of the league, youv’e got Shite fans”
1708 die hards made the 4 1/2 hour trip up the M1-A1 on a bank holiday to that horrible Coronation street set, give us a break.
As soon as the first goal went in, 1708 fans owned the place, the numpty in the home end trying to get to the Wolves fans was the best entertainment their side could offer.
Then the Cherry on the cake,
9 men,
We’ve only got 9 men
We’ve only got 9 men
We’ve only got 9 men.
You could have heard a pin drop, you could hear the grinding of teeth, the murder plots being planned and the sides of thousands of faces. (They could not look at us let alone threaten us).
Pulis went public after the game and stated,” he had no issue with Nuno’s celebrations st the end”, their local newspapers are slating Nuno, “for lack of class”
Give me a break, get a life, you feckin morons, it’s called 100% Old Gold & Black passion.
You lost badly to a 9 man team, get over it.
On to Hull Nuno…..

How a rather egocentric young ‘expert’ saw the game for Boro… I couldn’t keep the self satisfied smile off my face. as f we have fans like this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWM8fszQLVw
Now this is how a real football man does it. We’ve all been in his position and his humility makes me feel more empathetic. Who’d be a football fan? It must take years off our lives.
Hope we learn that we need to keep our heads no matter what the provocation when facing twelve men. You have to be cold and calculating when defending…imo.
