As we all know, this is a guaranteed defeat.

If history is anything to go by anyway.
Much better Wolves teams have played much worse Boro teams over the years and we’ve nearly always been routinely stuffed.
The good thing is we can afford to lose tonight. Unlike last season when we went up there desperately needing a point and leaving hopelessly disappointed yet again, the pressure is all on them.
I think you could sense Derby felt the burden of expectation last weekend, so maybe it’ll be the same again tonight?
Middlesbrough
It looked like Boro would coast to promotion a few months back and their January transfer business was as impressive as their summer recruitment.
Championship heavyweight Jordan Rhodes and Premier League proven Gaston Ramirez both looked like smart acquisitions to help them ease over the line.
But it hasn’t quite panned out for them yet and Hull, Burnley and Brighton have all reeled them back in. There’s a very real threat now that they might not make it again.
I was impressed how they turned the screw on us at Molineux earlier in the season. Once they got back level they just kept coming and eventually forced the win.
The Riverside is a fortress for everyone this year, not just Wolves. They’ve managed 11 victories from their 16 home matches to date with just the 2 defeats. It’s travel sickness that’s restricting their progress.
Wolves
The difference last weekend was the midfield. Kenny got a top notch performance from all three of his central players and they complimented each other very well.

Hopefully the above eleven can do what they did to Derby, which is make their life as miserable as possible when they’ve got the ball and break quickly when the opportunity presents itself.
Unlike Derby though, I don’t think Boro are afraid to scrap it out, so it could become a bit of a chess match and I’m not sure who that suits better?
Pace out wide also gives us opportunity and Helan looks a diligent worker, so that bodes well going in both directions and will help in a tough away fixture.
The gaffer
Predictions
I thought we’d be swatted away by Derby and ended up pleasantly surprised. It’s a repeat this week too.
We go confident and with renewed optimism but I think Boro will just have too much quality at home to hurt us.
So I’ll go for a narrow 2-1 defeat and hope to look foolish again.
Up The Wolves!

Only “pleasantly” surprised against Derby, Thomas? Pleasantly? After that great win? That reminds me of an ex-girlfriend who suggested a day out to a nature reserve. Not being familiar with the nature reserve I asked her about it. She said it was “moderately interesting”. I fell about laughing, saying why are we going there, then? She dumped me fairly soon after so I guess she didn’t rate me even moderately interesting.
Back to Boro. I’m forecasting a point. I actually forecasted a 2-1 win for us against Derby but I chickened out and changed it to 2-2. I’ll stick with that for Boro.
It’s when they start suggesting a day out at a naturIST reserve it can start to get VERY interesting.
A nudie type of reserve was never mentioned but I fondly remember a holiday in Cape Town with that G/F. We had the place to ourselves, it was a small townhouse in the Cape Quarter. It had a private roof terrace, overlooked only by Table Mountain. It was a hot night and we put the sun lounger to unorthodox use! It wasn’t planned, it just happened. I was, in Thomas’s words, pleasantly surprised!
I was pleasantly surprised against Derby. And would be thrilled to somehow snaffle 3 points tonight.
However I am expecting to be glum.
Boro not on good form, us! I don’t no anymore which wolves will turn up, I’d keep. the same eleven from last week, would like to see alf get a a run out though.
Be nice when henry Williamson and zyro come back to strengthen the team!
was with you all the way – until you mentioned Henry who in my opinion would weaken the team not strengthen it.
65 years since we last won at Middlesboro.
Huge difference in class between the team they can field to ours this year.
The odds against us winning – 100 to 1, 1000 to 1, worse?
Got to be worth a punt!
The bookies aren’t as generous as you – they’re only offering 6/1…
As ever with our team, expect the unexpected. One swallow a summer doesn’t make, but Wolves fans love a good straw to clutch at and the Derby game gave us that in spades.
WOLFSTROKER, you win the prize for cramming the most cliches into the shortest space.
Well done mate!
You’re right DG. I didn’t realise early doors, but now the dust has settled, I’m over the moon you picked up on it.
I had us at 0-4 defeat against Derby and was a mile off. I’ll try to be more optimistic this week.
Kenny – keep calm and don’t tinker.
Another performance like last week and I think we have a chance but a point will do me.
Can’t wait for Zyro, Williamson and Henry to come back. I think we will look a whole lot better then.
was with you all the way – until you mentioned Henry who in my opinion would weaken the team not strengthen it.
Stop repeating your blogs
stop repeating your blogs!!!!
Now now Clive Clive let let us us not not get get too too carried carried away away with with things things shall shall we we ? ?
Talking of we we I need to go.
The result of our game last Saturday lunchtime, Boro losing in midweek and the Blues beating Hull last night just shows how fine the margins are in the championship. Whatever the recipe for consistent performances and results , those who find it will prosper.
So long as Kenny provides the same pre match food and talk as against Derby then I think it could be a close run affair, and if the same players put in the same `shift` then who knows. A victory may be wishful thinking, but I thought a 1-1 against Derby, got that wrong, so I`m going for another 1-1 but suspect I`ll be wrong on this one to. Go on wolves win it.
I just hope they go and give it a go. Got a feeling he will drop Byrne for a more negative line up. Keep Byrne in Jackett. there are no stand out teams in this division and Boro and Hull do not play free flowing football but grind out results. Brighton the best side in this division by far.
Get set for a thriller
Trying to predict results in the Championship is just crazy.
So far this season we have played the current top 7 teams 9 times and to date have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 3.
Add to that the fact that based on home form only we would currently be 18th whilst on away form we would be 8th. Crazy!
Last week with the odds stacked against us I had a mental Oriental moment and went with my heart over my head (my head was saying we’d lose 0-3) and predicted we’d win 2-1!
So this week with the odds stacked even heavier against us even without the 65 years of hurt since we last won on Teesside I am following a similar pattern. My head – stupid bloody head – says we’ll lose 0-3. However my heart is remembering March 1980 and something that still wrankles to this day. Back then of course there wasn’t the blanket coverage there is today with instant updates and scores etc. Back then I knew we were drawing 0-0 at half time at home to Middlesbrough but then had to wait until around 4.45pm for the BBC vidiprinter to kick in to find out the result. Patiently I sat waiting for the damned thing to clatter up our result. Wo… – yes this must be us! – lves 2 Middlesbrough 0. Yes! We’d won! Two second half goals had secured another victory. Oh joy! But hold on. About 90 seconds later up popped ‘Wolves 0 Middlesbrough 2’. What? No mention of it being a corrected result though so what the hell was going on. On the screen was Wolves 2 Middlesbrough 0 and a few lines further down the page was Wolves 0 Middlesbrough 2. Which was right? Had we won? Had we lost? What the f*** was going on? An agonising 10 minute wait ensued until the ‘classified football results’ were read out……………..come on, come on, come on, hurry up! And then there it was ………..Wolves 0-2 Middlesbrough. Buggar! The cruellest of occurrences. being told you’d won and then finding out in fact you’d lost. Nightmare.
So in order to right that wrong from all those years ago I am predicting a 2-0 win for the lads tonight!
p.s. bloody vidiprinter!
p.p.s. mind you in many ways I preferred it like it used to be as the sense of anticipation and not knowing heightened the enjoyment in many way.
Up the Wolves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going for the same prediction as l did last week. Can luck strike twice in a row?
Middlesboro really do have a lot of firepower and serious options on the bench. They probably have the best squad in the division. I want to be optimistic but feel we are really up gainst it.
We have to beat them at some stage so it might as well be today!
Normal service resumes. Then again, who bloody knows these days.
They haven’t won there since Clive and I were born, 1951 was a very good year, but these are records that need altering, it’s time to put this stupid statistic to bed. Me and Clive are 65 this year so come on Kenny make it a moment to remember.
225 fans at the game plus any pay on the door, we’re voting with our feet Sky, take note, their ground is like a morgue normally so it should be like watch paint dry on your ceiling. Sticking to my principles ( has that cost me in my life) I have boycotted the game and won’t have to face the M1 / A1 on a Friday afternoon.
As the song goes.
We all hate Sky and Sky,and Sky, Sky and Sky and Sky, Sky annnnnd Sky.
We all fu&@ing hate Sky.
I lost the faith last week and went for a rediculous 6-0 and I got my Bum kicked.
So 2-0 to the Wolves for me. Time to change the record.
🙂
Just finished dinner. Coat now on, pub here I come.
Impossible to say so I’ll go for an unlikely win.
None of us, including Kenny, know if last week was a one off or the happy coming together of a team that actually works and plays like a team.
But it worked then – so he HAS to start with the same eleven.
I still have reservations about Siggy up front on his own but would be more than happy to see him prove me wrong.
And I still have reservations about the central defence but, until Williamson finishes writing ‘Tarka the Otter’ and gets back on the football pitch, we’re stuck with it.
This will be the second match I have watched on my ‘gifted’ Sky package and so I once again refuse to predict a defeat.
I think a draw would be a satisfactory result.
I’ve worked at one of your naturist reserve places Doogle, and believe me, some of the grotesque sights there had me screaming for them put clothes on!!
As for the 65 year gap since we’ve won at Boro, we have only played there 25 times so lets put it in perspective a bit.
As we have proven, time and time again to our detriment, all losing/not winning streaks come to an end.
Tonight is our turn.
They will be knackered and depressed after losing to Blackburn three days ago, and we will be on fire.
Coupled with the fact that I will be cheering them on in The Richmond Arms pub, a 5-1 scoreline is almost a guaranteed certainty.
Any other Houston residents are welcome to join me for a pie and a pint ( the proceeds of which will NOT go into greasels back pocket)
And why does Thomas keep breaking the blog?
FOwb
I like the spirit of “Sod history, we can win this” that’s on the blog so far and am very happy to go along with it – 65 years – so what !! Taking the longer term view we’re still above Middlesborough in the all time top flight league
I have seen the future and it’s looking good. My crystal balls (yes I have two) have shown me the match already…………….I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t mention too much about the match……
Oh and Kenny is changing Siggy (aka bambi) for ALF and my prediction is no indicating of the correct score………….
🙂
Going for reverse psychology here. Just as we hadn’t lost at Hilsborough for 53 years BEFORE the 4-1 defeat at christmas, the Boro hoodoo will be banished as a result. There for a 2-1 win will be the result. Feel for the 200 odd making the trip. Apparently 9cm of snow fall at Leeds/Bradford today. Good luck!
Oh well, decided not to go, but will be in pub. The statement about us being consistently inconsistent makes me predict:
Good day all you Wulfies from a very sunny Bedford.
This is the season for breaking records.
On one hand we lost at Hillsborough for the first time in a league game since 1964 or something like that.
On the other hand – as reported by Stu we have not won at Middlesbrough since 2 years before I was born. As I am now a very old and decrepit 63 it beggars belief that even Sir Stanley could not plot a win in the 50’s, so I did some investigating. Boro actually lost their top flight status in 1954 and regaining it 20 years later in 1974 (they actually went down to the third division for one season). During those 20 seasons we only played them twice in 65/66 season winning at home and losing away.
However since 1974 we have played them regularly and I have to say our overall record is pretty ropey. In all competitions they have beaten us on 44 occasions and we have beaten them 27 times with 20 draws.
In the Molineux FA cup replay v Boro in March 1981, Wolves won 3-1 in front of 40,524. This was the last time a crowd of over 40,000 assembled at the Molineux to this very day.(Coincidentally the first game at Ayresome Park, which ended 1-1 Andy Gray for Wolves, occurred exactly 35 years ago to the day).
Therefore tonight I am going for a handsome Wolves victory.
This is because the teams in the promotion places are starting to get the jitters. Boro lost at Blackburn in the week and Hull lost to the Bluenoses last night. Derby have won just 2 in 11 and Brighton blow hot and cold.
Anyway we just have to win – I have worked out that if we win all remaining 12 fixtures we will finish with 79 points – into the playoffs and a day out at Wembley guys in the May sunshine!!
Ohh – The White Coats are here……..must go.
Have a great weekend guys – enjoy the match tonight.
BOG
All these old codgers on here.. And there there’s me, a spritley 63 and still smitten with gold and black. The early fifties were definitely a good time to procreate. Heart over head for my prediction, but I think we’ll lose. Would be lovely to see Saville score again, as well as Henry.
I hope that you and I are both wrong Thomas, but unfortunately can’t see us getting anything.
Hopefully the lads will prove us wrong.
COMBs!
Still amazed that coady and Saville can play like that, what’s taken so long. Now comes the test can they repeat it,if so we have a chance. But being wolves it’s sadly not likely
I still haven’t got any answers for last weeks demolition of Derby so me and Subo think that we’ll get another pasting …. In the hope that I’m wrong again and remain a presumptuous fart……
This is a free hit as far I am concerned so let’s give it a good go. Boro are showing signs of crumbling under pressure and if we can keep it tight there is no doubt the tension will crank up. Apparently you can get 6/1 on a Wolves win. In a two horse race that isn’t bad and might be worth a bob or two. Siggy to net the winner.
Some of you were mildly suprised last week. I was bloody gobsmacked just could not believe what I was seeing.
OK 65 years or 25 games since we last won up there records are made to be broken.
Come on lads finally get me rid of my apathy and give us a win.
F.,.k boro . Spent A load of money and are going nowhere
CMON YOU WOLVES !
Think they might have a bit too much experience for us. But so long as we get a performance not dissimilar to that v Derby (and nothing like the Brentford fiasco) then I won’t be complaining if we lose.
Never been to boro , pretty sure I’ll never go to boro ! What’s there anyway! Well a better football team than we have at the moment unfortunately, But although I think we will lose I’m going to predict a win more in hope for the hardy souls making the trip ?. Il be up at 6 30 am with a cuppa , slice of toast to watch the match.
Boro 1 wolves 2. Utw
65 years that’s got to be one of the longest or even the longest a team has gone without winning an away game against another team.
As for the result I think it will be 66 years after tonight’s game, yes we were much improved against Derby but consistency has been our problem all season and as I think he will do as he’s done all season Jackett will change personnel again why only Kenny can answer that.
Boro have to much qaulity for us I don’t think it will be as bad a defeat as in the League Cup, but a deaf all the same hope I’m wrong..!
Just a note regarding those Wolves fans going to Boro fair play to you wouldn’t it of been nice if the club had helped them in some way like our neighbours down the road have they’ve paid for coaches to go to Sunderland 40 not that they’ll fill them.
Massive PR oppertunity missed Moxey it would have meant a couple less pies for yourself but hay you good do with cutting back a bit..!
History teaches us that History teaches us nothing and neither does listening to Talksport or the WM football phone-in or reading this so Wolves to win.
If we can beat Derby and as Boro lost recently to a goal by yep..Danny Graham then it’s possible to get some sort of a result here..
KJ or his parallel universe double could be on another shock result and..give or take my abuse in the past I say ..(ok…almost) good luck to him..
A bit of strategy ..playing Mason this time at the start….Saville to make his mark again..with Kmac playing well and Coady doing an Alan Ball on drugs then perhaps we shouldn’t be seeing this as such a foregone conclusion..
So 1-1 or even a steal..
Oh..yeah the defence ..without the messiah Mr Williamson..
DB could, you know – have a good game.. (He has to soon!) EEL – I just don’t know, but I know the Boro fans seated down the side lines are going to get a shit load of balls thundering past there heads..
EEL and KJ’s training …’if in doubt boot it into touch at a million miles an hour’ ‘not pretty but effective’ lol
COYW
Missed the Derby prediction, (hey maybe that’s the good luck charm we need)…
Glad of the “shock” win and good performance. Lets hope that the performance continues to shine today and that we can eak out another close win.
#UTW
A shock victory
A point would be good, a win would certainly be unexpected. Hope Sky show plenty of the 250 hardy souls who have decided not to boycott the game – will be interesting to see who has travelled; quite a number who don’t want to lose their ‘every game – home and away’ records I expect; all the best to them, hope it’s a night for them to remember
I was on the way to Calais last weekend, so I missed the game on Sky. Hoping to make up for it tonight.
The pessimist in me thinks a win is huge ask but, to paraphrase, why look to the moon when we can go for the stars?
Optimism, feel it come back after last week’s win?
Pof. There it goes again…
My optimism paid off last Saturday with a correct prediction against all the odds. So, I’m doing it again! Come on me babbies!
Another tough game at a place where we haven’t won in 65 years,so it would be great for us to at break the spell that’s been on us for so long.
We’ve had some great teams lose there over the years ,on that basis I think its about time we broke that spell,so I’m going for a repetition of last week and going for two wins on the trot (against all odds)2-1 to me babbies.
Just a mention for the wolves fans who’s travelled all the way up to that God forsaken place,I know because i’ve been there,I commend them for their support.I think the club should have let them travel for free after paying £32.00 for a ticket .(RIPOFF)UTW.
Who knows with Wolves but given our record up there I’ll have to predict a defeat.
Well after finally predicting the correct score against Derby, I’ve decided to go for it again – even though, I think I’d be happy if we don’t get tanked!
Head ruling heart!
Two wins on the bounce and another 2-1 result with Super Saville on the score sheet again! Why not?!?!
Was tempted to predict a win but I’ll stick with a score draw.
Unchanged team by the looks of it. Sounds good. I still consider them strong favourites, but hopefully we’ll scrape a draw.
I hope the team give the travelling fans a performace to cheer about. I result to smile about? Perhaps that’s a bridge too far, but who knows.
Hope we get a draw but I think it will be close COYW
Maybe a draw…….
Another false dawn to add to the many this season, feel for the fans that travelled and what did the club do for them………nothing and Moxey and Morgan wonder why they are hated so much..!
Just back from the pub. Beer was good and the Boro fans in the pub were loud, but funny. Had great banter with them. Not commenting about the game as you all saw what I saw. Ok …….. just one comment. As Siggy was quite ineffective why did Mr Jacket take so long to put Mason on. You cant win a game without scoring goals. I have lost faith in him.
Pretty anaemic performance. No lack of effort but a lack of quality and ambition. Jackett seemed content to lose passively as long as it didn’t become a pasting rather than take any risks to give ourselves a chance of victory. After the brief respite of the Derby win, normal service as an inadequate aimless team has been resumed. Please just 2 more wins and we can all find a beach somewhere and forget yet another season of total mediocrity.
Just back from the pub – here is what I saw;
Ikeme 7 – little protection, great first half save
Iorfa 4 – shocking throughout, incapable of controlling the ball
Batth 4 – shocking, pulled out of position all night, no leadership
Ebanks-Landell 5 – lucky to go off injured early
Doherty 8 – our Man of the match, countless saving back post headers
Coady 6 – worked hard and at least he looked like he cared
McDonald 7 – quality player, a rarity in our team, substituted…wtf?
Saville 4 – did he play? Was he on the pitch?
Byrne 5 – tries hard but lacks quality or ball control, substituted
Helan 6 – OK but only OK
Sigurdasson 3 – ah, the Afobe replacement, couldn’t score in the proverbial
Kenny Jackett: minus 3 – Clueless, Mason on bench AGAIN, takes off winger when 0-2 down to move our striker to the right wing, so he can play Mason, who is not a striker, as a striker and then despite having a striker on the bench brings on a defensive midfielder when we are 0-2 down and takes off our only creative midfielder. Is the man a bit touched? Is he seriously touched?
New buyers PLEASE! I’ve had enough of that fat lying barsteward Moxey, of that pathetic timid little Scouse Mouse Morgan and of the incompetent and Clueless Jackett. Get someone in who CARES, someone with fight, ambition, guts, intelligence, flair. PLEASE!!!!!!
Agree with all that except I’d have given Doherty 9 – completely showed the rest of the team up- but very harsh on Batth, did a lot of solid defending imo.
But they’ve lost the match before they start. No attempt to control the match and have a real go. Just kick the ball away and retreat ready for the next attack.
Coaches and team totally lacking in confidence and self belief.
Accept Doherty could have been a 9 and probably marked Batth down as he is captain so expect him to display’ leadership and organisational skills over and above his own game. Like you say though we were beaten before we started.
Four big problems as i see it. 1 Defence could be good but lacking experience, 2 no leader on the pitch to bark out orders and roll up his sleeves and set the example in the style of a Mike Bailey or a Paul Ince, 3. nothing going forward, no goal threat at all which just means the ball constantly comes straight back at us and we are on the back foot from the first whistle. 4. Nothing on the bench to bring on and change a game. f we had Dicko, Afobe, Sako, Stearman and Golbourne out there last night we could have won.
Second best all over the pitch light years away,no quality,no thrust,no good.
The sooner this season is over the better. I predicted a 2-1 to us,I must keep off the drink.
Enough said.
Watched the game , boring basically! After 15 minutes my boy came n and I found myself saying ‘I think we will lose 2 or 3. 0 Sad but it looked from the off that kj just didn’t want to get stuffed !!! We are safe ! They have invested in much better players than us granted , but if we had a go they may have been a tad nervous !!! But yes , basically just boring . I think the fans were given a fiver each for refreshments so a crumb of appreciation ?
A fiver, talk about token jestuure no wonder they didn’t publisize it tight fisted b……ds
Is it true that it was VLP handing out the fivers as the fans got off the coaches?
Mason should of started..
Yep. I agree with you Steve.
“Let’s be realistic,” as the judge said to me, many Moons ago.
Call that a football team?
What do they do in training?
It was pathetic.
We had a three man team.
McDonald, firstly, followed by Helan and Doherty.
The rest of them might as well have stayed at home!
What struck me the most was what a diffuse bunch of guys…
Everyone seemed to be totally unaware of the concept of being part of something bigger than their own ‘Ego.’
Sorry, we need a manager whom the players respect.
They obviously don’t respect Kenny, you can see it in the way they kick the ball.
Oh woe is me,
Oh woe is me.
The first game I don’t go to and they’re giving out £5 vouchers, it breaks my feckin heart, just no justice in this World.
Oh yes! and Wolves lost as well, who’d have feckin thought it, they can play half decent one week and then revert back to standing off players allowing them to run at us, only going to be one result in that kind of football.
Kenny, you truly are a useless individual, you slate the poor defending, tne lack of forward movememt the lack of idea from the team.
HELLO KENNY.
You feckin train them.
🙁
Stu, agree spot on its a pity Jackett isn’t .
One win in nine is relegation quality
Irrespective of who owns or “runs” the company, whoever is in direct charge of putting that team, with those tactics, on the pitch deserves to be fired.
KJ, as the absent minded gravedigger was told
” You have lost the plot”
The fat lady has finished her song, time to go.
Agree Clive I’ve said all season a lot of the blame for the lack of consistency is down to Jackkett and his constant tinkering.
He left Mason out until a few minutes till the end and he scored which only unlines he should of started.
Is it a dirty protest from Jacckett who knows but if it is he’s only hurting the fans M and M couldn’t give a flying fluck as the Chinese would say….!
To be fair to him, KJ didn’t tinker with the team that beat Derby and we still weren’t consistent.
And Mason didn’t score, it was an own goal.
Doog I admire your loyalty But, Jackett has brought a lot of this on himself and yes your right he didn’t tinker with the team that beat Derby, 2 games he managed to stick with the same team, 2 games is that consistent yes for 2 games but there are 44 and yes you have to make changes with injuries that go for all teams not just Wolves.
You still think Jackett the man for the job that’s your option and you are entitled to it as am I mine we will have to agree to disagree but ill say this you are increasingly in the minority…!
The goal has been accredited to Mason. Seems to me Doog your looking for an argument nit picking, your frustrated but hay I’m not Morgan I’m not Moxey if you want to take your frustration out on me fine what ever makes your feel better mate………..I can handle it.
Both Sky Sports and the BBC have given it to ‘Gibson o.g.’ and it was clear from the slo mo playback on Sky that it came off Gibson’s head.
I’m not looking for an argument mate (perish the thought), just stating facts.
And I’m not saying that Kenny is the right man for the job or taking my frustration out on you. I happen to believe that KJ is the only man for the job because no other bugger would take it.
The point I was trying to make is that, tinker or no tinker, we don’t have a team that’s good enough.
And I think we can both agree about that.
Mason himself has said he touched it and is claiming it when interviewed on Wolves TV.
Your right we don’t have a team good enough Doog, the point I’m trying to make is we have enough to have a better points total than we have at present and I believe that’s down to chopping and changing all the time and if people think we are safe then think again we had more points than we have currently and still went down when Saunders was running the show.
couldn’t access preview Thursday night and hurried to gym then first tee Friday am…so life is hell here I know
meantime I’d have predicted 2-1 to Boro…honest guv
then saw delayed TV game last night and was shocked, shocked at gulf in class between these teams…how have we managed to fall so far behind as promotion contenders? We now look like League 1 , I mean Third Division material..no technique and no pattern of passing.
Lets get the sale done and dusted Mr Morgan…then get a manager in who can find and mould together a footballing team and give ourselves five years to reach the promised land…talking of which I just heard Free’s ‘Alright Now’ which reminded me of 1970 summer in Sailor’s Arms…and not the Wolves
Apparantly rumour has it Wolves are looking for a top striker to partner mason on the bench..must be a proven goal scorer, cost at least 3 million pounds and be prepared to watch his team mates under perform for 70 minutes and then come on when the game is lost…
Oh yeah get on with the manager (sorry coach)
Why are you all bitching?
Last week they delivered!!
I would consider the previous weeks result a miracle given, squad age and imbalance, managers selection policy, managers change in formation and style of play, owner leaving, fans had enough, apparent noncompetitive wage structure, selling best players (new way club run), injuries, tea lady being forced to use cheap tea by Moxey.
Come on now Steve my boy, whatever do we need another striker for when we already have so many? Think about it. In terms of actual strikers – not people like Mason who apparently play behind the striker(s) or like Zyro who is actually a winger but can play as a striker – we have Sigurdason, a man deemed not good enough when we were in the 3rd division but now apparently the ready made replacement for Afobe and a man who will guarantee you at least 2 goals. A season. Then we have Le Fondre, a striker so prolific we not only never play him but we also never bring him on from the bench even when we are losing 1-2 or 0-1 with a few minutes to go. Then we have McAlinden who last scored and played March 2014 and who has been out on loan ever since. Of course there is Dicko too, out through injury.
So you see we have oodles of strikers. Right spoilt for choice we are.
